FFXV x FFXIII AU

"Raines Lindblum Sanctumium is a politician from Niflheim, often seen in his white attire. When he's not on the Palamecia, his flagship, or attending meetings on the Zegnautus in Gralea, he lives in the home of Galenth Dysley, patriarch of Tenebrae, who is something of a grandfatherly mentor to him. Only Grandpa Dysley knows that Raines is a cloned baby descendant of the Lucis Caelum line.

His new lieutenant, "Rygdea," a strange guy with a mischievous smile and unique purplish-magenta hair, intrigues him, suspecting him of being a "SAB" (saboteur). He asks Sergeant Farron, Lightning to her friends, to keep an eye on him, but she mostly falls under his charm."

raines: " oh. i've never put this to thought....

i was rather enamored by the nonchalant and somewhat unprofessional way that mona interacted with me, that i simply let myself follow their lead. i'm acutely aware of how i'm acting in front of other officers, but i feel i let my guard down around them and that led to bold compliments and testing the waters with touch.

light touches, close quarters, a palm pressed to their arm, the small of their back, any opportunity to extend a hand and help them steady themself. these could all be seen as being generously chivalrous, but every touch felt like fire.

mona is rather affected by every advance i make, far more than one would expect. light grazes give way to goosebumps, a small smile brings out their timid side, usually met with a bristled comment. they blush rather easily....it's cute.

rygdea has brought to my attention the fact that i seem to have come out of my 'shell', so to speak - that i have become a touch more relaxed, and the thought was....sobering. i have an image to maintain.

mona does speak a bit more straightforward and plainly - but only in my company. i haven't noticed any turn of phrase of mine. though i don't believe my speech is strange....

they do copy my mannerisms, far more than i might to them. standing with their hands behind their back, spine straight - the image of an officer imprinted onto them. i'll admit i do have a bad personal habit of picking at stray threads and lint on my persons, and an even worse habit of excessive cleaning and polishing things. that seems to have made their own habits and rituals worse.

i suppose another habit i've picked up from mona is less a habit and more an obsession; my hands feel empty without their own, touching and petting and feeling. my gloves feel as though they weigh down my hands in a terrible way, and i often find my own hands doing the same.

SNSTSE CANON

This is the master list for my SI/OC ship (Sn)ow, E(st)elle, and (Se)rah. Their ship tag is ‘snstse.’

Main canon is set during and following the events of XIII, but disregards the events of XIII-2 and LR. It focuses on Serah’s inclusion in XIII; what happens after the fall; and rewrites Yeul, Noel, and Caius’ roles.

Background — main setting

Serah is the seventh party member. Events follow closely until inside the Vestige. Instead of turning to crystal, she's weak from exhaustion and passes out. Otherwise, her Focus is similar to the others. She struggles to get her sister to treat her as an equal. The Purge weighs heavy on her.

Aside from Serah’s inclusion, the events during XIII stay, largely, the same. Lightning and Serah are separated early-on.

Events following XIII focuses on former Cocoon citizens settling Gran Pulse. Eventually, they come into contact with the Nsu clan: the last believed living clan on Pulse.

Yeul is a 18 year-old woman being primed to be the leader of her clan. She’s been cared for by her guardian, Caius, as long as she could remember. Noel is her childhood friend who is under the mentorship of Caius.

Every 13th year, a sleeping beast awakens to wreak havoc. Yeul asks for the aid of our heroes to put this beast to sleep once-and-for-all.

This canon, largely, ignores the existence of Bhunivelze.

Part of the transition involves unearthing history and mending the relationship between former-Cocoon and Pulse.

Magic is a part of daily life, like in XIII-2. Some people are either born with it, come to wield it later in life, or completely magic-less.

The Cocoon fal’Cie remain dormant, while the Pulse fal’Cie lose interest in people. This is the extent of Etro’s intervention.

Characters — what everyone’s up to after the fall | 0 AF | xx11

Caius: He keeps to Yeul’s side. He’s wary of the new settlements, but follows her orders. That said, he won’t accept the new residents until they’ve earned his respect in a fight.

Celeste: A pilot who’d gone into a coma after a near-fatal crash. The doctors said she wouldn’t survive; yet the day after the Purge, she wakes from a frightening nightmare, dread overcoming her. After the fall, she focuses on recovering and overcoming her fear of flight.

Dajh: Him and Chocolina are ecstatic! His dad’s smiling and his mom is too—and he doesn’t even have to go to school! He gets to brag to all the other kids that his dad is a superhero and that he gets to go to his work everyday.

Estelle: She’s learning to become the person her sister never got to be. She tags along with either Serah or Snow as an extra hand. Meanwhile, she’s dealing with some very complicated feelings regarding their relationship.

Fang: Crystal stasis. She can see their friends, laughing…

Hope: Hope reconnects with some old friends he’d been meaning to meet before the Fall; struggling to readjust to an old life he’d long grown out of. He and Bartholomew grow closer, despite some friction and growing pains, as he takes an interest in his father’s work.

Lightning: She’s fallen back into old habits, taking up her role as a soldier to help clear out monster nests, assisting Rygdea and Bartholomew when she can, and is on the hunt for leads to free Vanille and Fang from their stasis. That said, she always makes time to visit Serah and Hope.

Noel: As a guardian-in-training, Noel trains everyday to best his mentor in battle, and help his clan. In a foolhardy effort to prove himself, he ventures on a hunt grander than him—alone. On that hunt, he meets Serah.

Sazh: He’s busy flying airships between Cocoon and Pulse. His wife, Celeste, has woken from her coma (a miracle?). Between his job and caring for his family, he’s occupied 24/7 and couldn’t be happier. He helps Celeste with the lingering effects of her accident.

Serah: Concerned most for the children, she’s busy setting up a school and teaching a history free of fal’Cie interference. Realizing how little she knew however, she refocuses her efforts on learning about the history of Pulse and travels to as many sites she can of former Pulse civilizations. One day, she meets a young man named Noel on a hunt…

Snow: He’s focused on helping different settlements, his friends, some random Cactuar, and taking on tasks from Rygdea. Of course, he’s planning his and Serah’s wedding too! Though, perhaps he’s stretching himself a little thin trying to help everyone…

Vanille: Crystal stasis. She can see an old evil, rousing from its slumber…

Yeul: Preparing to become her clan’s leader, her efforts are focused on guiding her clan well. The 13th year will be upon them, once more. She seeks to establish a relationship between her clan and the former-Cocoon residents, hoping their bonds will be enough to survive disaster.

Main AUs

XIII-2

Follows the events of XIII-2 closely. Estelle is an antagonist, working with Caius* to find a way to keep Serah from dying.

Paradox ending: Estelle successfully keeps Serah locked in a ‘dream’ world.

*working together in the sense they both want to stop her from succeeding. Estelle is aware of Caius’ end goal.

LR

Follows the events of LR closely. Estelle, officially, leads Snow’s guards; however, she’s been leaving more and more, desperate to find out a way to fulfill his Focus.

Sazh, Dajh, and Celeste live out in the Wildlands. Dajh is, mentally, 500 years-old. They run a sort of delivery service, helping out individuals throughout Nova Chrysalia.

Post-LR

Serah is busy wrapping up her final year at university. Snow, Estelle, as well as the NORA gang, live together in a quiet beachside town.

Basically, a domestic slice-of-life AU.

wip grab bag - I swear it's WIP Nautilus City!

I SWEAR I HAVE NOT ABANDONED IT I'M JUST A SNAIL

Fang loped over from where she had been chatting with Amodar.

“Oh, are we comparing class cards? Been a moment since we did that.”

She sounded way too excited for her own good as she approached their shared desk space again. Lightning looked up and found the rest of their  squad mates gathering around as Fang flopped casually down into her rolling chair.

“I’m an S-class,” bragged Fang, putting her hands behind her head and flexing her arms. 

She looked insufferably smug considering she was talking about a horrible blood curse of unspeakable guilt that could turn her into an unstoppable, ravening beast once a month.

“That’s only when you go full loup garou,” interrupted Rygdea. He winked at Lightning before continuing to nettle Fang. “Otherwise you’re what? In C-class?”

“I’m a B-class, you prick!”

The devolved into good-natured bickering, before Lightning finally sighed and interrupted.

“Okay, but what do the classes mean? Like…in practical terms?”

“They are, for lack of a better term, power rankings,” explained Amodar. “Threat classifications, almost. Each level is indicative of thresholds for abilities. An imperfect system, by all means, but one that the department was rather keen on when the SCS was first established.”

Interesting. Lightning mulled over the class definitions as her squadmates each revealed their ranks. Rydgea and Amodar were C-class, Kimahri and Fang were in B-class (barring loup garou transformations), Cid was a D-class, and Ashe was an A-class.

“So Ashe has the highest class ranking in the SCS?”

Ashe demurred from the recognition. “That would be the captain. She has a full S-class ranking.”

Considering that she was a dragon, that seemed to check out, in Lightning’s opinion.

"I truly had high hopes for you, Claire. How disappointing." || Cid to Lightning

At the mention of her real name, the pink haired woman's eyes narrowed, her hands clenching into fists. It was something Lightning had long left behind her, or so she thought. At the time, the warrior figured changing her name would somehow help her overcome the pain of her parents' deaths. When in reality it was her trying to distance herself from the whole ordeal. As the older sibling, it was up to her to look after Serah. Lately, it felt like she hadn’t done a wonderful job with that. So many regrets filling her mind as Cid spoke those words. How many people had she let down over the years? It felt like too many to keep track off, but the most painful one of all was watching her sister turn to crystal. 

“You wouldn’t be the first disappointed in me and certainly won’t be the last Cid. I don’t know what you want from me exactly. It seems like everyone nowadays wants something from me or my sister. So, how about you cut to the chase and tell me exactly what you called me here for.” The woman’s tone was cold and calculating, blunt and to the point. She didn’t have time to waste right now. Sure, they had avoided one danger after another, but how long until that luck ran out? 

“I’m not the type to assume things, but given what happened the last time we ran into each other. I don’t know where you stand in all this. All I remember is seeing a man that fought so hard to escape his fate, too. I thought I heard whispers that you couldn’t bare what you had done and requested Rygdea to peacefully put an end to you. Tell me, why have you come here in front of me now, of all times?” Leaning against the pillar, she glanced in Cid’s direction, the guy seemed way too nice. A luxury the young woman wasn’t used to nor afforded in her lifetime. Some saw her as a warrior, others the savior, and some even a goddess. It was hard to keep track of all the titles that were tossed her direction. 

“You seem to know so much about me, yet I know little of you. Tell me exactly what I did to let you down? I can’t say that I am surprised with how often people seem to want to blame me or my friends. I guess even at this point, the path I have chosen isn’t one that everyone would agree with, but my question still remains. What do you want Cid Raines?” 

Thirteen days. That’s all that remained of the time left to save the world. To rescue as many souls as she could. Would she fail in that task too..watch as all the people she loved faded into nothing. Reaching up, she moved some hair out of her face, trying to keep herself composed as usually. However, the thing about Lightning was she was so good at fooling others, but had yet to trick her own heart into believing such things. Time was short, and here she was talking to someone she hadn’t seen in a while. It felt..comforting, but maybe that was the human part of her talking.

This is a Independent and Selective Jihl Nabaat of Final Fantasy XIII/XIII-2 from Square Enix.  Head-canon and Canon driven take of the Toss Away Villainess.

For my own comfort, I will not be role playing with Personals that have an RP on the side.  I had left this muse due to a previous problem with a personal, whom was apparently attracted to The Muse.  I will not tolerate it, thus any personals following will be blocked.

 Shipping is an interesting topic in regarding Jihl, she is a woman HEAVILY invested in her work.  My Jihl is a Bi-Sexual and highly male leaning but can hit on other women. The two ships I have for her is Cid Raines and Rygdea.
