If I recall correctly, CSX's SD50s went through an upgrade program at just about the time they came up with the YN2 paint scheme. This resulted in almost the entire roster of SD50's being repainted in a relatively short period of time. In hindsight, I must admit that three of them looked pretty spiffy lifting a southbound unit coal train across Hickory Creek, south of Morley, TN on May 11, 1992.

I&O's Melvin Stone train makes its way north up the Midland Subdivision with a rent a wreck SD50-2 in the lead. The 8641 is right at home on the former B&O Ohio Division, having been built for the Chessie System in the mid 80s.

BPRR 5020 EMD SD50-3 - X-RIBT - Mosgrove by Jackson Glozer Via Flickr: Buffalo & Pittsburgh train X-RIBT slowly makes its way across Mosgrove trestle that spans the Allegheny River. The train originated at the AVR - BPRR interchange at Eidnau Jct with mixed freight for Butler and Riker. I arrived at Mosgrove with plenty of time to spare and went about lining up a shot. The sun was out almost the entire time on the bridge, with a few clouds blocking it on the river and backdrop hillsides. However, just as the train came into view, one small cloud appeared and made its way across the scene. This is one of the last frames I got before the locomotives and bridge were in shadow, with the rest of the scene fully illuminated. Oh well, at least I got something.
