the long joel analysis
i am insane about this, because when it comes down to joel and his trajectory of his win, the moment all the chaos seemed out of control and he was feeling like he was going to lose, he quickly retreated somewhere else to calm down. He kept pausing for breathers. He starts seeing himself in the final 8, his red life madness might come in but he immediately stops and breathes.
"I need to take a breather for a sec- I need to take a breather. This is chaos, I'm getting dizzy!" he realises that this is the environment that everything has spawned and created itself and he has to calm down to overcome it. He immediately moments later congratulates the Tuff Guys for making it into the final 8! He keeps thinking of his alliances.
When he kills Tango, he screams how he didn't think one arrow would kill him! We see regret in what he had done, maybe a bit of shock, he goes "Oops!" Grian announces this is it, possibly the End Game.
He quickly announces to Cleo that she's going to die, he's sorry about it and it's done. Goodbye, goodnight and that's when we could possibly see the typical Joel bloodlust.
Still, when Ren is hitting him in the cobwebs, he collects himself and he just teleports out of the way, he apologises, before slightly taunting Ren, ending his life and immediately turns to Grian and announces how he's killed people, that he has blood on his hands now and yet he isn't acting brash like before. He isn't deterred and that's when he sees him on the Tree and as Grian is about to die he yells: "I'm sorry Grian!"
Because Joel this season was the wildest card of all in terms of a Character standpoint, everyone expected him to maybe go bonkers as usual and yet thanks to his alliances he kept himself in check. He had a clear view: maybe changing my ways will make the outcome different. He started forgiving, started letting go and started making friends and holding people close to himself without being reckless. He had people who cared about him and he didn't want to die a stupid death as said to Gem. And this caution that no one expected changed the outcome so much that he won. And I don't think we realise how that is going to affect other seasons, he saw that through the literal power of Friendship he won, in a season full of Chaos he won by combatting this with Level-headedness that other Joels wouldn't have had. And it's important that we acknowledge that.... I think..... Or maybe I'm just crazy who knows.......

SPOILERS FOR THE SEASON 1 FINALE
CHECK THYSELF AND ENSURE THOU HAST READ THE FINALE, ALL YE WHO ENTER HERE
Hello. So Buddyâs a key.
Prepare for more mind blowing never-before-heard statements such as that last one.
As we can already assume, Buddy was not always a key: he was human before being put through a (dubiously ethical) process that turned him into a key, presumably by whoever the âOld Manâ of Ex-Libris is. He and Violet were working together to turn him human again, and we donât know exactly what they need to do that yet.
So far what we do know is Buddyâs been specifically following Chase into the books: not the keys themselves, or Deacon and Prunella.
Bearing that in mind, I would like to propose that in order for Buddy to stop being a key, he needs a candidate to take his place. And for some reason outside of his control, the most likely candidate is Chase.

Not sure why exactly, maybe Chaseâs personality matches the character key he would correspond toâ which is proobably our resident Hero key, Goldie. Iâll get back to that, just a secâ
Punko said a couple of things in the season finale Q&A that caught my attention, mostly about Buddyâs irises being drawn differently from the human characters. It turns out theyâre moonstones with a smooth cabochon cut instead of the OG keysâ faceted gem irises. But Iâll get back to that too, hold your horse godsâ

OK, Chase being compatible with Goldie. The other thing was when Punko mentioned that in the book world, key holders tend to get sorted into either hero or side-character based on how much they take control of their life choices. Specifically that Deaconâs arc the whole season thus far has been about becoming the hero of his own life; when asking for things to go his way doesnât cut it and especially when his friends and family are in danger, Deacon learned he needed to make things go his way himself and just take action. (Can relateâŠ)
When Buddy said Chase âmight be useful after all,â in episode 23, it was after Chase had made so much craziness happen in a book about cats trying to âParent Trapâ Stagtown cameos, that it was going fully off the rails- and through quick thinking and sheer trying things he got the book to a satisfying and frankly more entertaining conclusion. You know, Chase is just like that.
My guess for how Buddy needs to swap places with Chase is he just needs Chase and Goldie to be in the same book together before he initiates something on his end, and then Chase would⊠merge with Goldie in the book? Which makes me worried for Goldie too, if thatâs what does indeed happenđ„Idk. (Maybe thatâs part of why Buddy talks like the most Disney Villain mustache-twirling theater nerd of all time, too, his mindâs been combined with the Villain keyâs to become Nox.)
Buddy didnât know that they had found Goldie until Prunella revealed herself, finally he has everything he needs, and I think he was hurt enough to unhappily consider going through with the plan- but then of course drama happened and they came to an understanding in the book and it was GREATđ„Č
Still, even though Buddyâs decided he wonât go through with it, I have a feeling that it will end up happening somehow. Because Drama.
But enough of that, all that theory up there? Who cares, whatever, thatâs all build up for my REAL point:
Buddyâs key form has a moon theme, and moonstone cabochon eyeballs,
Thus I propose
Get ready
Youâll never believe it
Chase with

âïžSUNâïž STONE YORBS
(My god, what a feat of Logic)
Oh!! Oh oh, and Yes, the metallic striations (usually hematite?) can appear teal, pink, and yellow AKA Chaseâs colors as a card-carrying 1980âs vaporwave pop punk ladâ itâs almost like it was planned or something đ
*maniacal cackling
ROCKS!!!!

do you have a specific thing you'd like to talk about but haven't found the opportunity (analysis/observations/anything else) etc? if so can you respond to this ask with that :3 and if not you can share some images you'd like to post or something
alright finally calling on this
Let's talk about Wild Life alliances and "family". (long post)
"family" is a word that gets repeatedly thrown around this season and, unlike in LimL, it's not just limited to being one group's running gag. While the Clockers parodied the family dynamic, Wild Life alliances revolve more around the concept of family itself, and the differences in how each player treats that word can be viewed as telling of their own understanding of "family".
The most noticeable example of family as a theme in WL is from Joel, who literally looks into the camera and says that's what his theme is going to be this season.
Joel's understanding of "family" is, in a lot of ways, a little shallow. First of all he's doing it all within the context of Fast and Furious references, which is funny but on a character level could be seen as him mimicking media instead of really understanding what he's doing.
His "family" with Gem doesn't really operate any differently from any other alliance he's had -- if anything, his behaviour changes in relation to people outside of Gem are infinitely more notable. All throughout the season he has gone out of his way to be helpful, such as when he teaches Skizz to crit, or teaches Tango about the effectiveness of lava buckets due to the gimmick, or when he helps BET rebuild their trap that they just tried to kill him with.
Even more notable are his interactions with Jimmy, who DID kill him, but he remains amicable to even after yelling at him that he hated him just an episode ago (for, again, trying to kill him).
This all goes back to Joel's original monologue that bought up the family theming in the first place -- to Joel, family look out for eachother, are nice to eachother and put eachother first (not completely unlike what Scott values, which I'll get to in a sec). But he's not actually doing this for "family", he's being nice so that people are less likely to kill him, and he believes embracing "family" and being nicer will help him perform better.
What Joel actually wants is to shed his antagonism, so he's gone the opposite direction into being super nice and forgiving. "Family" is more or less a filler concept to help him realise it.
But Gem, on the other hand, has a very different approach to "family". When she asks Etho to the family, she expects loyalty and when he allows Pearl to grab food from Gem's barn, Gem scolds him and lets him know "we're not friends with Pearl".
Gem's idea of "family" is a lot more concrete than Joels i.e. she naturally expects to be listened to and to move as a unit.
"Control" is an interesting factor in terms of Gem's behaviour in this season, as she seems to believe it's a vital aspect to "family", as seen previously with her scolding Etho. She also yells at Scar for letting Jimmy threaten to kill Joel, telling him "no! we're supposed to be family!" and to "control your guy!"
Which is, strangely, reminiscent of a conversation she had with Scott where she asked him to "control" Pearl as well.
Maybe it's due to Gem being newer and therefore more naive or the fact that the use of the word "family" was spearheaded by Joel and Gem simply adopted it, but it's curious to me where the line between "family" and "alliance" are for Gem. It's hard to tell for sure because her control in Gem and the Scotts really was never challenged until Scott's permadeath, and tasks like the zombie task literally put her in control, but it is interesting to me that she is much more verbal about her allies behaviour now than she was before (<-- footnote: this might be partially because she is allied with Etho right now who is insane this season)
She also is the one that tends to say stuff relating specifically to family out of the two as well, such as "family don't steal from eachother!" and so on.
Gem likes to lead and be in control, and that attitude is reflected in the way she talks about family. I for one would love to see an instance where Gem is the one who needs to be "controlled", I think it'd be enlightening. Right now she feels to me like a kid parroting things adults have told her, since she is absolutely a more rebellious spirit and challenges when people who Aren't her have more control than she thinks they ought to (such as when Etho mentions building his base out of copper and she asks him why he has to listen to Bdubs).
Speaking of family and control, that brings us to the big heavy hitter faction, GGG(GG).
Early on, Impulse declares the alliance to be his family and since then, although the word "family" itself hasn't popped up as much compared to Gem and Joel, it certainly has been paraphrased. i.e. Scott's compared himself twice now to a parental figure, once more generally and the second time specifically towards Pearl. He also labels Cleo as the other parent, which quietly acknowledges their place as the alliance's pseudo-leadership.
Impulse saying this is. Dubious to me at best, since he says this and then goes on to be his usual, independently moving self after this episode. He even agrees with Pearl to keep his farm a secret from Scott and Cleo, which isn't very "family-like" at all.
We know from the past that Impulse is a good liar and has a more or less traditional view on family if his DL run with Bdubs is anything to go by. I do think Impulse has some weirdness attached to emotional investment in his alliances, most evident I think in TIES and Gem and the Scotts, but in this case. Ehhh I'm not an Impulse guy I can't draw any conclusion there, but it sure is a strange thing to say!
There is of course also Scott literally saying to Pearl "we're family, whether you want it or not" -- which is quite curious because Pearl Isn't Actually Scott's family. She does have a choice to leave, yet that isn't framed as a possibility.
I think the lines between alliance and family are very blurred for Scott specifically, who quickly named Jimmy as his husband (aka family) in 3L with very little hesitation and claims he "loves everyone". Scott genuinely believes his love for his death game teammates is comparable to that of a family and, possibly enabled through Impulse's words, has become a lot more brazen about it.
Like Gem, I think Scott sees control as a necessary aspect in order for families to function, and as such follows his infantilization of Pearl both through the blatant comparisons of her to a child in his care and through him saying in roundabout ways that she is too emotional to be trusted or too immature/impulsive in her decision-making.
I have relatively less to say about Cleo despite her being Mother Clocker which you'd think would make her more relevant to this discussion, but afaik she's been more or less dodging the "parent" stuff that Scott has been dipping into. Maybe it has something to do with Scott's very detached sitcom-esque perception of what motherhood entails, maybe she's like Etho and has shut it all out after LimL, eitherway lmao.
In short: alliance = family --> those who subscribe apply their concepts of family (e.g. control/discipline, emotional investment) onto their alliances --> dynamics get weird as many who meant to come out with an attitude of "I care for -- or even love -- my teammates" get morphed into treating their teammates as Literally their children or siblings
One alliance that entirely and utterly rejects the "alliance = family" notion is BET (I refuse to write "Tuff Guys" for the entirety of this post).
Right out of the gate they establish that they are more roommates than ride or die, and that everyone will betray eachother eventually anyway. They also yell and bicker and talk behind eachother's backs almost constantly, to the point where other people even pick up that they don't see to like eachother.
So it's interesting to me that BET.. Do care for eachother, despite what they say, but it's almost always hidden under non-acknowledgement (Etho protecting Bdubs from a skeleton, Bdubs trying to save Etho in the slow-mo fight at the beginning of episode 4) or balanced out with verbally ripping eachother to shreds right afterwards (Etho trying to help Tango get a kill and yelling at him for being incompetent when he fails repeatedly).
It's like, if they really are "every man for themselves", why help Tango at all?
When it comes down to it, BET have chosen eachother over other alliances -- even ones that they are "family" with, when Etho lures Joel and Gem over to Tango's trap.
One conversation between the three I don't see bought up much is them half-mocking Etho displaying the flower he got from Gem, I think it was Bdubs who pointed out that the flower would be useless if it weren't for Etho putting worth into it by showing he values it, and that once you show that you value something, people will see it as something they can take from you.
This, to me, is very telling when combined with how they have insisted they don't care for one another this season -- if they don't value eachother as allies in the first place, they can't lose eachother as allies.
It's the polar opposite of the "family loves eachother" approach to alliances, and "control" over eachother's actions only becomes relevant when things get desperate and all of them are involved.
Once again using the example of Gem telling Etho he "doesn't have to listen to Bdubs" -- I think it's interesting that Gem assumes that Bdubs is making Etho build out of copper, when in reality Etho asked Bdubs for a suggestion, Bdubs said copper as a joke (and later even reacted in shock when Etho took him seriously) and Etho's gone the full 100 miles with it. As well as the fact that Etho completely dodges that part of Gem's sentence, leaving her in ignorance of the fact he willfully listened to Bdubs -- of the fact he /valued/ Bdubs' input.
I hesitate to say more for now but I am excited to see how this develops and what brand of emotional attachment to one's teammates will come out ontop.
Anyway. Rambly post done. This means absolutely nothing have a good day. Freud would have things to say about this

Iâm sad because your series of fics about Judge Turpin has ended⊠I donât think I could ever recover from that hoping you write more about himđ
Title: Love? Love!
Summary: Lord Turpin loves his family, albeit in his own way.
Pairing: Judge Turpin Ă Fem! Reader
Warnings: Smut and Fluffy
Author's Notes: Alright, let's get real for a secâI may or may not have shed a tear or two when the story came to an end. Those characters? Yeah, they grew on me like a clingy sock in the dryer! But hey, seeing you guys enjoy it makes it all worth it. And guess what? I found this hidden gem tucked away in the archivesâa forgotten scene that slipped through the cracks! Whoopsie daisy! đ
First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth and ninth parts here.
As you busied yourself in the kitchen preparing dinner, the sounds of your husband's deep baritone voice filled the living room. Turpin was attempting to teach the children proper dance etiquette, insisting that all lords and ladies must know how to dance properly.
You listened with amusement as Turpin's patience wore thin with the energetic trio, who seemed more interested in giggling and goofing around than learning the proper steps. He sat on the sofa, shaking his head in disappointment as William, Sophia, and Belladonna stumbled over each other in their attempts to follow his instructions.
Just as Turpin was about to launch into another lecture, you heard Belladonna, the boldest of the two children, mutter something under her breath. Turpin's expression darkened, his hooked nose twitching with indignation as he turned to scold her.
"Father, you're being annoying," Belladonna declared defiantly, her voice carrying through the room.
Turpin's eyes widened in disbelief at his daughter's audacity, his baritone voice rising in indignation. "How dare you speak to me in such a manner!" he exclaimed, his tone laced with anger.
Sensing the tension in the air, you decided to intervene, stepping into the living room to address your husband. "Richard, perhaps it would be more effective if you showed them how to dance instead of just giving instructions," you suggested gently, hoping to diffuse the situation.
Turpin paused, considering your words for a moment before nodding in agreement. With a determined expression, he pushed himself to his feet with the aid of his cane, his posture straightening as he approached you.
"Very well," he said, his voice firm but resigned, "if that's what it takes to teach these rascals proper manners, then so be it."
He extended his hand towards you, a silent invitation to join him. You hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to expect, before placing your hand in his and allowing him to lead you to the center of the room.
Turpin positioned himself opposite you, his baritone voice softening as he began to explain the steps of the dance. "Now, watch closely," he instructed, his movements precise and controlled as he demonstrated each step with grace and poise.
You followed his lead, mirroring his movements as best as you could, your eyes locked on his as you moved together in perfect synchronization. And as the music swelled around you, filling the room with its sweet melody, you found yourself lost in the moment, swept away by the rhythm of the dance. Turpin's grip on your hand tightened, his eyes never leaving yours as you twirled and spun across the room together.
For a brief moment, it felt as though the weight of the world had been lifted from your shoulders, leaving only the two of you suspended in time. Lost in the graceful movements of the dance, you found yourself utterly captivated by the warmth in Turpin's eyes, the tenderness in his touch. Despite his stoic demeanor, there was a gentleness to his movements, a sincerity that spoke volumes about the depth of his love for you. His hand felt strong and reassuring in yours, his touch sending shivers down your spine as you moved together in perfect harmony.
But as the dance progressed, it became apparent that Turpin's attention was no longer focused on the lesson he was supposed to be giving. Instead, his gaze seemed fixed on you, his eyes sparkling with undisguised affection as he watched you with a fondness that took your breath away.
Caught up in the magic of the moment, you couldn't help but return his smile, your heart swelling with love for the man who had captured your heart so completely. For a brief moment, it felt as though the rest of the world had faded away, leaving only the two of you entwined in a dance that transcended time and space.
But just as you were about to lose yourself completely in Turpin's embrace, a sudden commotion broke the spell. Belladonna, ever the spirited one, had grabbed William by the hand and was attempting to drag him into the dance, her laughter filling the room as she twirled and spun with reckless abandon.
Sophia, not to be outdone by her sister, ran towards your father, her eyes shining with excitement as she tugged on his pant leg, imploring him to join in the fun. Turpin, torn between amusement and exasperation, couldn't help but laugh at the sight of his determined daughter, his hooked nose twitching with amusement.
"Father, you must dance with me!" Sophia exclaimed, her voice filled with determination as she looked up at him with pleading eyes.
Turpin feigned confusion, his brow furrowing in mock seriousness as he pretended not to recognize his own daughter. "And who might you be, young lady?" he teased, his baritone voice tinged with amusement.
Sophia giggled mischievously, playing along with her father's game. "I am Sophia, of course!" she declared with a dramatic flourish, her curls bouncing in time with her laughter.
Turpin pretended to ponder her words for a moment before nodding in agreement. "Ah, of course, how could I forget?" he replied with exaggerated solemnity, "Very well, Lady Sophia, shall we dance?"
You couldn't help but laugh at the exchange between father and daughter, your heart swelling with affection for the man who had once been so stern and unyielding. Despite his efforts to maintain his composure, it was clear that Turpin was thoroughly enjoying himself, his eyes twinkling with mirth as he took Sophia's hand in his.
With a flourish, Turpin led Sophia into the dance, his movements awkward yet endearing as he attempted to accommodate her smaller frame. The sight of the once formidable judge dancing with his daughter filled you with a sense of joy and wonder, a testament to the transformative power of love.
As the music played on, you watched with a mixture of amusement and affection as Turpin twirled Sophia around the room, their laughter mingling with the sweet strains of the melody. Despite his efforts to maintain his stoic facade, it was clear that Turpin had been utterly enchanted by his daughter's infectious energy, his heart melting with every step they took together.
And as you watched the man who had once been a harsh and unforgiving judge reveling in the simple joy of fatherhood, you couldn't help but feel a profound sense of gratitude for the life you had built together. In that moment, surrounded by the ones you loved most in the world, you knew that no matter what the future held, you would face it together, united by the unbreakable bonds of family and love.
But Turpin's coughing fit interrupted the dance. You moved to help your husband, concern etched across your features. However, Turpin waved dismissively, insisting that he was fine, though his stern demeanor quickly returned as he directed his attention back to the children.
"Enough frivolity," Turpin declared, his baritone voice commanding attention, "it's time to focus on your dance instruction."
Reluctantly releasing Sophia's hand, Turpin walks away, his expression once again stern as he fixed his gaze on his three children. With a firm tone, he demanded their full attention, his hooked nose twitching slightly with determination.
"Now, pay attention," Turpin instructed, his voice carrying the weight of authority, "we shall begin with the basic steps."
As Turpin began to demonstrate the dance steps once again, you complied with his request, putting another song on the phonograph before heading back to the kitchen. The sweet melody filled the room, providing a backdrop for Turpin's instructions as he guided his children through the dance.
And as you busied yourself in the kitchen, you couldn't help but steal a glance at the living room, where Turpin stood in the center, his imposing figure commanding the attention of his children. Sophia and Belladonna watched him with rapt attention, their eyes shining with excitement as they attempted to mimic his movements.
William, ever the dutiful son, listened intently to his father's instructions, his expression serious as he focused on mastering the steps. Despite his young age, he understood the importance of upholding the Turpin name, of carrying on the family legacy with honor and pride.
As the song reached its crescendo, you watched with a sense of pride as Turpin led his children through the dance, his movements precise and controlled despite his declining health. There was a strength in his demeanor, a resilience that spoke volumes about his character, his commitment to his family unwavering even in the face of adversity.
And as you looked at his three children, their faces illuminated by the warm glow of the phonograph, you couldn't help but feel a surge of gratitude for the man who had given you so much. Despite his flaws, despite his past transgressions, Turpin was a devoted father, a pillar of strength and stability for his children.
As the song came to an end, Turpin turned to you, a hint of exhaustion visible in his features. "Put on another song, my dear," he requested softly, his baritone voice tinged with fatigue, "let them practice a bit more while I catch my breath."
You nodded in understanding, quickly selecting another record and setting it on the phonograph before returning to your duties in the kitchen. As you worked, you couldn't help but steal glances at the living room, where Turpin sat with his children, his eyes shining with pride as he watched them dance.
Despite his declining health, despite the challenges that lay ahead, Turpin remained steadfast in his commitment to his family, his love for his children unwavering and true. And as you watched him interact with his three precious heirs, you couldn't help but feel a sense of hope for the future, a belief that no matter what trials may come, your family would face them together, united by love and devotion.
As you stirred something in one of the pans, focusing on the task at hand, you were surprised to feel Turpin's presence behind you. His arms wrapped around your waist, pulling you close as he pressed a gentle kiss to the back of your neck.
Startled by his sudden affection, you turned to face him, a hint of amusement in your eyes. "Hungry already?" you teased, raising an eyebrow in mock disbelief.
Turpin's lips curved into a playful smile as he leaned in closer, his breath warm against your skin. "Always hungry," he murmured huskily, "especially for you."
You couldn't help but laugh at his boldness, pushing him away gently as you reminded him of the children in the other room. "Behave yourself," you scolded teasingly, though there was a warmth in your tone that belied your words.
Turpin chuckled softly, his baritone voice tinged with amusement as he reluctantly released you from his embrace. "You're no fun," he teased, though there was a hint of affection in his gaze as he watched you work.
With a playful swat on his arm, you turned back to the stove, determined to finish preparing dinner before the children grew too restless. But Turpin had other ideas, his expression suddenly serious as he spoke.
"After dinner, we'll send the children to bed," he declared firmly, his tone brooking no argument, "and then you and I will retire to the bedroom."
You raised an eyebrow in surprise at his suggestion, reminding him gently of his weakened condition. "Richard, you're still recovering from your illness," you protested, concern etched across your features, "perhaps it's best to take it easy for now."
But Turpin shook his head resolutely, his gaze unwavering as he met your eyes. "I'm strong enough," he insisted, his voice filled with determination, "strong enough to be with you, to show you how much I love you."
You couldn't help but be moved by his sincerity, his unwavering devotion touching something deep within your heart. Despite everything, despite the challenges you had faced, Turpin's love for you remained steadfast and true, a beacon of hope in the darkness that had threatened to consume you both.
With a nod of acquiescence, you relented, unable to deny him the opportunity to express his love for you in the way he desired. "Alright," you agreed softly, a smile tugging at the corners of your lips, "after dinner, we'll go up to the bedroom."
As Turpin hummed in satisfaction and gave your rear a playful slap, you couldn't help but feel a rush of embarrassment, though you tried to hide it behind a playful swat at his arm. His unexpected displays of affection always left you feeling flustered, a stark contrast to his usual cold and stoic demeanor.
You focused on finishing dinner and setting the table. The savory aroma of the meal filled the air, making your stomach growl in anticipation. With everything in its place, you called for your family to gather around.
Turpin, ever the disciplinarian, sent the children to wash up before dinner, his voice carrying the weight of authority as he directed them to the washroom. Once the kids were occupied, he joined you at the table, taking his seat at the head as was his custom.
"Richard, did you wash your hands?" you asked with a teasing smile, knowing full well that he often forgot such trivial details in his eagerness to eat.
Turpin shot you an irritated look, his hooked nose twitching slightly with annoyance before reluctantly pushing himself to his feet. Grumbling under his breath, he made his way to the washroom, leaning heavily on his cane for support.
As he returned to the table, you couldn't help but feel a surge of affection for the man sitting before you. Despite his flaws, despite his tendency towards cruelty, Turpin tried his best to be a good husband and father, even if he didn't always succeed.
"Thank you, dear," you said softly, reaching out to squeeze his hand gently, "for always taking care of us, even when you don't have to."
Turpin's expression softened at your words, his baritone voice tinged with emotion as he met your gaze. "I may not always show it," he replied quietly, "but I love you, more than anything in this world."
There was a sincerity in his words that took you by surprise, a vulnerability that he rarely showed to anyone, least of all you. And in that moment, surrounded by the ones you loved most in the world, you couldn't help but feel a profound sense of gratitude for the man who had stood by your side through thick and thin.
As the children returned from the bathroom, Turpin watched them attentively, his stern gaze softening slightly as he observed their interactions. He nodded approvingly as William dutifully pulled out the chairs for his sisters, a small gesture of chivalry that did not go unnoticed by their father.
"Good boy, William," Turpin remarked, his voice carrying a hint of pride, "always remember to look after your sisters."
William nodded in acknowledgment, a faint blush coloring his cheeks at his father's praise. He took his seat at the table with a sense of satisfaction, knowing that he had earned his father's approval.
Turpin turned his attention to Sophia and Belladonna, his expression expectant as he waited for them to take their seats. "Well, what are you waiting for?" he prompted, his tone firm but not unkind, "Say thank you to your brother for pulling out your chairs."
Sophia and Belladonna exchanged a glance before turning to William with grateful smiles. "Thank you, Willy," they chorused in unison, their voices sweet and sincere.
Belladonna, ever the bolder of the two, added with a mischievous twinkle in her eye, "You're such a gentleman, just like Father."
Turpin's lips twitched with amusement at his daughter's cheekiness, though he made a show of feigning indignation. "Flattery will get you nowhere, Bella," he chided gently, though there was a hint of affection in his tone.
Belladonna grinned unabashedly, her curls bouncing as she giggled at her father's mock scolding. "Sorry, Father," she replied with a playful wink, "but it's true."
Turpin shook his head in mock exasperation, though there was a warmth in his gaze as he looked at his spirited daughter. "You're incorrigible, Belladonna," he remarked with a fond smile, "but I wouldn't have you any other way."
With a satisfied nod, Turpin settled into his seat at the head of the table, his posture straight and dignified as he prepared to lead his family in prayer before the meal. As he began to speak, his baritone voice filled the room, a comforting presence that brought a sense of peace to those gathered around him.
And as you bowed your heads in prayer, surrounded by the ones you loved most in the world, you couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the man who had stood by your side through thick and thin. Despite his flaws, despite his past transgressions, Turpin was a devoted husband and father, a pillar of strength and stability for his family.
In that moment, surrounded by the ones you cherished most in the world, you knew that no matter what challenges might come your way, you would face them together, united by the unbreakable bonds of family and love.
As the night progressed, the intensity of your passion with Turpin grew, the thrill of being intimate with him in such a daring and precarious position adding to the excitement. With each thrust, you couldn't help but cling to him desperately, your body arching against his as waves of pleasure washed over you.
Turpin's hands roamed your body with purpose, his touch igniting a fire within you that threatened to consume you both. You bit your lip to stifle your moans, your senses overwhelmed by the sensation of him filling you completely.
Feeling the need for more, you whimpered softly against his neck, your voice muffled by the fabric of his shirt as you pleaded with him to give you what you both desired. "Richard," you whispered hoarsely, your breath hot against his skin, "please, I want you to fill me. I want your baby inside me."
Turpin's eyes fluttered open at your words, his expression softening as he gazed down at you with a mixture of desire and affection. "My love," he murmured huskily, his baritone voice sending shivers down your spine, "as much as I want to give you another child, I can't."
You whimpered softly in protest, the ache of longing echoing in your heart as you pressed yourself closer to him. "But why?" you pleaded, your voice filled with desperation, "I want this, Richard. I want to carry your child again."
Turpin's grip on you tightened, his eyes filled with sadness as he explained his reasoning. "I'm old, my love," he whispered softly, his breath warm against your ear, "and my health is declining. I can't risk leaving you pregnant with no one to support you."
You felt a pang of sadness at his words, the reality of his declining health casting a shadow over your desires. Despite his stoic demeanor, Turpin's concern for your well-being was evident in his actions, his love for you shining through even in the midst of passion.
With a heavy heart, you nodded in understanding, accepting his decision with a mixture of resignation and gratitude. "I understand," you whispered softly, your voice filled with emotion, "but just know that I love you, Richard. And I would gladly bear your child, no matter the risk."
Turpin's expression softened at your words, his eyes reflecting a mixture of desire and admiration as he continued to thrust into you with increasing urgency. "Hmm, you perfect, perfect girl," he murmured huskily, his baritone voice sending shivers down your spine, "so eager to please your old man."
Feeling his arousal building, Turpin pulled your leg higher around his torso, his movements becoming more frantic as he pounded into you right there on the nightstand next to the bed. His pants gathered around his ankles, he was still wearing his shirt, a stark contrast to your nakedness, which only fueled the fire burning between you.
"You look like such a slut," Turpin whispered hoarsely, his breath hot against your ear as he leaned in closer, "trying to keep quiet so as not to wake the children. But we both know they won't hear a thing over the sound of your moans."
His words sent a jolt of excitement coursing through you, the thrill of being caught adding to the intensity of the moment. With each thrust, you couldn't help but cling to him desperately, your nails digging into his back as you surrendered to the pleasure washing over you.
Turpin's hands roamed your body with purpose, his touch igniting a fire within you that threatened to consume you both. You whimpered softly in protest, the ache of longing echoing in your heart as you pleaded with him for more.
"Please, Richard," you begged, your voice barely above a whisper, "give me everything you've got. I need to feel you inside me, filling me completely."
Turpin's eyes darkened with desire at your words, his resolve crumbling as he gave in to the primal urges driving him. With a fierce growl, he redoubled his efforts, his thrusts becoming more forceful and erratic as he sought to claim you completely.
As the pleasure built to a crescendo, you felt yourself teetering on the edge of oblivion, the intensity of your climax threatening to overwhelm you. With one final thrust, Turpin pushed you over the edge, sending you spiraling into ecstasy as you cried out his name in a voice that was both desperate and unrestrained.
He stopped, waiting for you to calm down before pulling away from you. His eyes were dark with desire as he watched you climb down from the bedside table. With a grace that belied your desperation, you dropped to your knees in front of him, your mouth watering with anticipation as you eagerly took him in.
Turpin's hand found its way to the back of your head, his grip firm yet gentle as he guided you, his stoic facade crumbling in the face of his primal desires. He watched in awe as you pleasured him, your lips wrapped around him in a sensual dance of desire and submission.
"You're so good at this, my love," Turpin murmured huskily, his baritone voice sending shivers down your spine as you worked him with practiced precision. "So eager to please your husband, to make him feel good."
Your heart swelled with pride at his words, your own desire burning hotter with each passing moment. Despite his cold exterior, Turpin's appreciation for your efforts was evident in the way he held you, his fingers tangling in your hair as he lost himself in the pleasure of your mouth.
As you continued to pleasure him, your own arousal building with each stroke, Turpin's control slipped further and further away. With a guttural growl of satisfaction, he tore off his shirt, his chest heaving with exertion as he surrendered himself fully to the pleasure you offered.
"You're mine, my beautiful wife," Turpin whispered hoarsely, his voice thick with desire as he gazed down at you with unabashed adoration. "And I'm so lucky to have you."
With each flick of your tongue and every gentle suckle, you felt Turpin's arousal reaching a fever pitch, his breath coming in ragged gasps as he neared the edge of ecstasy. And as you brought him to the brink of release, you reveled in the power you held over him, knowing that you alone could bring him to such heights of pleasure.
With one final, desperate thrust, Turpin cried out your name, his body tensing as he spilled himself into your waiting mouth. You swallowed him eagerly, savoring the taste of him on your tongue as you milked him for every last drop of pleasure.
And as he collapsed against the bed, spent and trembling with the force of his release, Turpin pulled you close, his arms wrapping around you in a fierce embrace. "I love you, my beautiful wife," he murmured, his voice filled with warmth and affection. "More than words can express."
You nestled against him, your heart overflowing with love for the man who had captured your heart. Despite his flaws and his past transgressions, Turpin was yours, and you were his, bound together by a love that transcended even the darkest of shadows. And as you drifted off to sleep in his arms, you knew that no matter what the future held, as long as you had each other, you could weather any storm that came your way.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters GX Episodes 106-107 Subbed (Finalized)
(Previously: Episode 105 Subbed [Finalized])
(Check out my Subbed!GX Stream Masterpost!)
TURN-106: Judai and Johan of the Gem Beast Deck
A new school term has started at the Duel Academia. Invited to the Academia as transfer students and becoming new friends are the Academy Champions known as Amon, O'Brien, Crocodile, and a mysterious boy--along with one Professor Cobra. Meanwhile, atop the school building rooftop, Judai meets a boy who can see Spirits--who turns out to be the "mysterious boy," Johan. Cobra proposes an Exhibition Match, pitting Judai against Johan. Johan turns out to be a duelist in control of the rare Monsters known as the Gem Beasts.
TURN-107: The Neo-Spacians VS the Gem Beasts
Johan summons one Gem Beast after another, from his Amethyst Cat to his Topaz Tiger. Judai also has Neo-Spacian Flare Scarab and Neos perform a Contact Fusion to take them on with his Flare Neos. Then, Johan destroys Judai's Field Magic and activates a new Field Magic, Ancient City of Rainbows -- Rainbow Ruins, sending his Neo-Spacian back to his deck. Seeing these skillful attacks, Ed begins to speak of the unknown relationship between Johan and his Gem Beasts.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
...so, didn't mean to let these take about a month and a half since 105 was all finalized, but heremst we be *sips indie coffee*
Season 3 gets into full swing with these two episodes as it starts us off with a hint of our upcoming big bad right off the jump (RIP Hiromi Tsuru, your Yubel is still fantastic), then introduces us to the big foreign players we'll be seeing quite a bit of going forward. Judai has a nightmare taking place in an area similar to his vision with Saiou--which I'm sure is unrelated to anything--and then opening ceremonies ensue before we're introduced properly to our new transfer students, and the Ancient Roman lore around Johan's Gem Beasts which was pretty cool to include; Judai and Johan then have a fun duel together as we see the Gem Beasts in action facing Judai's Neo-Spacians. These episodes also see the debut of some of my favorite OST tracks from Season 3, like Fervent Duel (used really well in 107) and A Pinch here. Ed coming in for 107 and giving us the background on Johan from Pegasus, featuring cameos of Dark Yugi, Kaiba, and Jounouchi (from the Warriors and Unstopping Overflowing Feelings OP/EN in DM--these nods were kept in the dub, so it was the first time those particular shots of Kaiba and Jou were used in the West), as we learn that he gifted the Gem Beasts to Johan during a tournament in Europe was good, and I still love Johan's little fakeout at the end with the Rainbow Dragon he doesn't actually have yet. A fun duo of episodes with a fun, low-stakes duel that we should enjoy while we can.
Quick side-notes for the dub, but want to take a sec to shout out Jim's dub VA who perfectly nailed his Australian voice for the guy, and who I hope comes back if we're ever lucky enough to get a more accurate GX redub (though I think he was recast in DL? But still sounded pretty good). Dub!Yubel, though... I'm still baffled by the decision made with that voice, and I'm glad they eventually went with a better voice in BBT. 107 also saw them make a bunch of--I assume--time cuts, including most of the cold open which featured our first in-series look at Martin, and other shots as Cobra set up his evil lair in the old SAL lab (continuity!), but also the ending shot as Cobra looks at the duel energy he collected and comments on their impressive duel--most of those are fair as far as time cuts go, though I think the ending scene should've been kept. It's also interesting that, with Johan's southern accent being a thing in the dub (which has grown on me, though I like his later no-accent voice more), that they had Pegasus say the tournament he went to with him happened "down south;" according to a comment on the Crunchyroll upload, the venue's the "All-England Lawn Tennis Club where the Grand Slam Wimbledon" happens in the UK? lol
Animation error-wise, there were just over a handful that I picked up on in each episode that I went ahead and fixed up--mostly quality-of-watching ones along with a couple of card errors, and I also translated the bio on Amon that O'Brien hands to Cobra early in episode 106. As always, details below the cut if interested, along with Translation Notes for the bio.
Anywho, enjoy! The next two-parter features our fiery boy O'Brien, and with some really nice art/animation in 109 that I always love to revisit; I'll begin work on that once I finalize some special side work that I should hopefully get to post about soon, too, though I'll also be going back to episode 1 to fix up a card error I forgot to tackle, lol. Stay tuned!
Fixes/Edits! (106)
Early in the episode, Professor Cobra enters O'Brien's room on the ship and asks who else would be visiting him; he hands him a bio pointing to one Amon Garam. As detailed here, I translated Amon's bio in this shot, first compiling a full image to edit from its later appearances in 111 and 121, then keyframing it into the rotating zooming-out shot that happens here with AfterEffects and Sony Vegas. (The full text of the bio is in that detailed post)
In the next shot, Cobra asks if Amon came to see O'Brien, noting that he seems to be a meddler but suggests that he doesn't pay him any mind, turning to pass the bio back to him--as he does so, a few quick animation errors happen: 1) Cobra's face/mouth glitch for a few quick frames as he shifts his face into a smile (likely his current face being left over his moving face behind it); 2) the bio page in his hand jitters a bit in the frames leading up to his turning towards O'Brien; and 3) once O'Brien's holding the paper and moves it down, there are a quick few frames where a small part of his hair (the one bang on his left) is missing before it comes back. As detailed here, I edited in my translation to the bio while Cobra's holding it and as he passes it back, masking in Cobra and the rest of the frame over it for blending, while also fixing those errors for the Japanese scene by holding Cobra's face pre-glitch over the glitched frames, editing the Amon bio so it's steady throughout, and masking in O'Brien's full hair bang over the frames where it's cut short.
Later, as the Judai/Johan duel gets underway, Judai and Johan give their "Duel!" shouts and draw their hands, but a few things happen as they jump into a split-screen for it: 1) Judai moves a frame before Johan starts to slide in on his split; 2) once the screen pans down to their decks as they draw, the split-screen border seems to have been drawn in oddly, as part of Judai's side ends up just on top of the border (also seems to be slightly cut off in width halfway down); and 3) as they split apart, more of Judai seems to have made it to the left of his split's border. I fixed each one in Vegas by first sliding in Johan a frame earlier as Judai moves, then enhancing the split-screen border a bit to cover up what ends up on top of it and to its left as they split out (I generally try to avoid making redone borders that much bigger, but thought it was the only way to cleanly/consistently fix that).
After Johan plays Gem Beast Emerald Turtle, we cut to the Overseas Champions watching on, with Jim whistling before Amon expresses his surprise at the Gem Beasts--but a coloring error happens in the rapid pan from Jim to Amon, with both having odd coloring spots. A quick fix in Vegas by redoing the panning using a frame of Jim post-whistle and a frame of Amon before his mouth moves.
After Judai summons Neos, Johan laments that he can't ask for his autograph while they're dueling, but notes that he was waiting for him to summon a new Monster--Judai slides in on a split-screen to question that, but a few things happen: 1) Johan starts moving to make room for his split a frame before he does so; 2) a coloring error happens as Judai and Johan then split apart before Johan activates Triggered Summon (more noticeable on Johan), and 3) Judai's uneven slide-out leads to it taking a frame longer than Johan's to get offscreen. Fixed each one in Vegas by sliding Judai in a frame earlier as Johan moves, masking in Judai and Johan's pre-slide-out splits over the frames as they slide out to fix the coloring error, and making Judai's slide-out match Johan's by masking one frame in earlier.
[continued below, just split thanks to stupid text-block character limits]
(6) A bit later, after Johan talks about not having any destruction cards in his deck so he can see his opponents going all-out, Judai notes how neat he finds him; as they split apart and Johan tells him to bring out his new Monster (due to Triggered Summon's effect), there's a quick frame where the border is missing on Judai's split. Quick fix in Vegas as I just added it back on by duplicating the one on Johan's and touching it up as needed.
(7) As Judai then summons Neo-Spacian Gran Mole, we see it pop up in front of him, but Judai has black rectangles on his Disk where Gran Mole, Neos, and Aqua Dolphin should be. Fixed using AfterEffects to slap on proxies for each in one frame, which I then took into Sony Vegas and shook around position-wise frame by frame to add it to the full shot (thankfully, this was just shaking around and not zooming in or out lol).
(8) During the preview for 107, we see Judai on a split-screen jumping as Johan declares an attack with his Amethyst Cat, but as they slide apart, two quick things happen: 1) there's a quick frame where there's just black behind them (and Johan's split's border isn't as glowy as Judai's), and 2) some of Johan's split's border hangs on for two frames after he and Judai slide offscreen. Fixed each in Vegas for 107 proper first, then applied the fixes here, masking in Amethyst Cat behind Judai and Johan as they split apart, then masking in some of the whooshing background behind Amethyst Cat to cover up the remaining bit of Johan's split border for those two frames.
Fixes/Edits! (107)
After Judai summons Flare Scarab, he has it do a Contact Fusion with Neos for Flare Neos, but as he declares Flare Scarab's name for it, we see that the cards on his Disk--for Gran Mole, Neos, and Flare Scarab--are flipped upside-down. Fixed in AfterEffects first by applying proxies as Judai swings his Disk around, then on one frame during the zoom-out on Flare Scarab after he moves--I then took the latter frame into Sony Vegas, where I redid the zoomout on it for the whole shot, masking in Flare Scarab on top of it.
After Johan plays Rainbow Ruins and Judai's Battle Phase ends, we see his Disk as Flare Neos returns to his field, but not only are his cards upside-down again--he also has regular ol' Neos where Flare Neos should be. Fixed both in AfterEffects by applying the Mole and Flare Neos proxies correctly, masking in the orb part of Judai's Disk over the Gran Mole one.
A bit after the eyecatch, as Judai realizes that Johan hasn't played his ace yet, he starts to ask about it, startling Johan as he slides into a split-screen with him to ask as much, but Johan starts to move for it a frame early. Fixed in Sony Vegas by sliding Judai in a frame earlier there.
Later, after Johan explains that Ruby Special-Summons itself and the other Gems in his Magic/Trap Zone when placed there (rude of the OCG to remove that part of its effect), we split out of the split-screen there as Ruby's summoned, but the border on Johan's split hangs on for an extra frame. Fixed in Vegas by just masking in part of the whooshing background over it.
A bit later, Johan declares a direct attack with Amethyst Cat, and Judai jumps as their split-screen splits apart to show Amethyst Cat pouncing at him, but as they slide apart, 1) there's a quick frame where there's just black behind them (and Johan's split's border isn't as glowy as Judai's), and 2) some of Johan's split's border hangs on for two frames after he and Judai slide offscreen. As noted for the preview version of this shot in 106's list, I fixed these here first before applying the fix there, masking in Amethyst Cat behind Judai and Johan as they split apart, then masking in some of the whooshing background behind Amethyst Cat to cover up the remaining bit of Johan's split border for those two frames.
Later, after summoning Air Neos (who), Judai slides into a split-screen to explain his ATK-gain-per-LP-difference effect; as they slide apart, Judai's uneven slide-out causes his side to take a frame longer than Johan's to slide offscreen. Fixed in Vegas by just masking part of Judai's slide-out a frame earlier to even up the slide-out.
A bit later, after Johan hypes up Rainbow Dragon only to end in a "just kiddin'," Judai clicks in for a split-screen in confusion before they split apart to show Air Neos's attack connecting with Amber Mammoth--as they split apart, parts of the border on Johan and Judai's splits hang on for an extra frame. I fixed this by just using the touched-up version of this shot from the recap in 108, which had Judai and Johan's splits slide out more naturally.
After the duel, Cobra walks out to congratulate the two on a duel well fought; he beckons them towards him, but as he walks up to the center of the arena to do so, his still feet jitter as Judai and Johan start to walk over. Fixed in Vegas by masking in his feet from the frame as Judai and Johan start to walk over over the 2-3 earlier frames as he gets to the center of the arena to keep it consistent.
#GX#yugioh#ygo#ygo gx#yugioh gx#yu-gi-oh gx#yu-gi-oh! gx#Judai Yuki#Johan Andersen#my subs#give it up for best directionless boy Johan#god i remember the old April Fools joke on Janime where fake dub names were announced for the Overseas Champions#including one changing O'Brien to Marz Kelvinheit or something--it was amazing lmao#these first few S3 episodes really are the calm before the impending storm; good times
third life in the nature lives au
alliances!!!!
Shelby & Katherine: they live in one of the small dark oak forests on the map and give out mushroom stew as a silly trade. they throw their lot in with the witch's alliance and use potions quite a lot as well, and for the most part they just try to avoid being on anyone's bad side. Shelby does tend to pick fights with the other faction however and Katherine attempts damage control
Sqaishey, Netty, Stacy, and Lizzie: honestly this is the 2010s era alliance. they find a hill and make it as defensible as possible with lava and cactus, but they reject every other offer of alliance. because of this they don't make it super far and everyone raids their base
Pris, Eloise, & Cleo: the witch's alliance. they mainly deal in potions and enchants, so their base is a giant tower with many dispenser/pressure plate traps loaded with slowness + poison on the way up. their closest allies are Shelby and Katherine, and they share most of their resources with them
Jojo & Pearl: THE powerhouse. they take the desert and use the gravity mechanic of sand to their advantage. they're big pvpers so they don't do traps as much as they build an "arena" in the desert that they can use for the upper hand in battles. they're one of the big factions this season because of how dangerous they are, although Jojo takes it more seriously and Pearl is bigger on pranks
Gem, False, & Stress: they settle on the edge of the desert and maintain good relations with Jojo & Pearl. however, they do keep a lower profile, so they're less of a target and all three of them make it to the final battle.
how the games actually go
Lizzie is out first when red-named Pris follows her caving and takes her out. Lizzie's team is very upset about this and calls it a dirty move on Pris' part because there were greens + yellows she could have targeted instead. this leads to a big rivalry between these two alliances, and the extended witch's alliance eventually takes out Netty and Sqaishey as well. Stacy survives and runs to Jojo and Pearl as a last resort
In exchange for Stacy's allegiance, Jojo and Pearl declare war on the extended witch's alliance. this is a little more than the nature wives bargained for but Cleo strong arms Katherine and Shelby into it. the two sides on the server now look like this: {Katherine, Shelby, Cleo, Pris, and Eloise} versus {Jojo, Pearl, Stacy, Gem, Stress, and False}.
the stronger potions + enchants that the extended witch's alliance have means they are able to take out Pearl and Stacy, but the pvpers on the other side do overpower and kill that entire alliance.
While Jojo is weakened by potions, Gem runs in and one-hits her. As she, False, and Stress all catch their breath from the big battle, things start to calm down for a sec. False is the first to realize that they need to turn on each other. While Gem and Stress are distracted, she finishes them off, taking the crown as the first victor of the series.
False herself dies when she falls on dripstone. it's unsure whether this was purposeful or if, in her guilt-ridden state, she genuinely didn't notice the pointed stalagmites.
#nature lives au#amarambles#trafficblr#au#third life#nature wives#falsesymmetry#i dont have names for any of these alliances except obviously the witch one so pls do give suggestions!!!#i will very likely be writing drabbles for this soon
The Fruit Tokunaga shop, in operation for over 75 years, stands as a classic example of Japanese fruit stores renowned for their premium quality offerings, often chosen and wrapped with care for gifting purposes.
At the store's entrance, more budget-friendly fruits are available, though slightly pricier than those at nearby supermarkets or Chinese-run produce shops just a few doors down.
Venture towards the back of the shop, and you'll find the true gems showcased in a display case. Not immediately visible in the photo, these treasures include cantaloupes priced at „5,500 each (approximately $39 to $50 USD, depending on the exchange rate).
Specializing in seasonal fruits cultivated in Japan through contracts with carefully selected local farmers, the shop's motto, "Face to Face," underscores the owner's commitment to quality. The emphasis on face-to-face interactions with independent growers ensures a meticulous chain of quality control, guaranteeing that bespoke fruits become delectable gifts.
When purchasing fruit as a gift, customers can request separate gift wrapping for either refrigerated or room temperature storage.
Meet the shop's owner, Mr. Hirotaka Tokunaga (pictured on the right, wearing glasses), a local celebrity in the Yokohama Shotengai shopping arcade.
Apart from successfully running his family business for decades, he is an avid design and photography hobbyist. Mr. Tokunaga generously volunteers his time and talents, creating flags, banners, promotional materials, and posters for the shotengai association members.
These creations are strategically placed throughout the shopping arcade, serving to announce upcoming festivals, convey public service announcements, and promote special events scheduled throughout the arcade.
Hi gravity rush bestieeeeee
Please convince me to continue playing GR2. I love Kat and the whole cast of characters, but some of the missions and (camera oh my god) are so frustrating me :(
I beat GR1 and I love it! Janky and annoying at parts but god damn it's just good! 2 feels like polished but for looks instead of feel :(
Okay tips for GR2, both to perform better and to have more fun: - Honestly just fuck around. Some of the best parts of the game are just enjoying traversal. Plus picking up gems will make a lot of challenges significantly easier because your gravity gauge and shifting speed can go up - The best way to enjoy Gravity Rush is to get in character. Walk around and chat with NPCs, enjoy the way people treat Kat more like the nice girl next door with superpowers than a superhero. Just Kinda Vibe! GR2 is like, the best cell-shaded game visually short of Guilty Gear. Explore! - The main upgrade in terms of playability has been changing the controls for stasis field and gravity slide. Give yourself time to get used to them working slightly differently, it's so much more convenient once you have a feel for it - There is a "recenter camera" button that aligns the camera with the horizon. I can't recall it off the top of my head right now but don't be afraid to take a sec to re-orient! (I think it might be the touchpad but don't quote me on that). Remember: no matter what direction gravity is, Kat's hair and scarf will always point downward! - As a heads up: The Raven's Choice DLC which takes place shortly after GR1 is free! You play as Raven and the plot really holds a light up to her whole character, it's great! - If you're struggling with combat, the easy way through it is fuck it, we Gravity Kick. Fuck it, we Gravity Kick. Fuck it, we Gravity Kick. until you're out of things to Gravity Kick. - If speed challenges are more of a concern, Gravity Slide is your friend! If you jump during a Gravity Slide and hit a wall, you'll automatically shift onto that wall and then you can slide more along the wall!
As for motivation to continue! - Raven and Kat are very gay in this game. They went from bitter rivals to friendly rivals by the end of GR1 but GR2 makes them so blatantly girlfriends. Raven cannot stand being apart from Kat and if the Overture animated shorts are to be believed (Look up Gravity Rush Overture if you haven't seen them) Raven moved into Kat's pipe-house between games. - the side quest stories are pretty good! One of the side-quests plays into the previous point - You learn So Much More about how the Gravity Rush world works - There are new gravity powers you unlock later in the story and they're AWESOME. I won't spoil them for you but they're really cool. - Look I know forced stealth sections are bad, we all know they're bad. But right after the mission in the military base you get to experience a cutscene that permanently changed my brain chemistry and Kat gets to wear a pretty red dress that you get to keep as an outfit - Syd has more character development than you think. No, more than that. Liiiittle more. Yeah that's about right. - Kat has cute lil emotes and you unlock more as you go. You can make her meow. Please send me additional asks if you need specific advice. Gravity Rush is taking up the space my highschool education used to be in my brain.
some questions for your dsmp su au!
Do you have any ideas for possible fusions, what they would look like, what gems, etc? I would be happy to make some concepts if you do (if you don't want me too thats fine also!!)
What weapons would the gems have? I have a few ideas if you need them!
i got REALLY carried away so im puttin all that under the cut
im thinking a lot of thoughts sporadically rn but OBVIOUSLY the iconic duos fuse at least once, ie clingy duo, emerald duo, (wildcard but) foolish and eret probably fused back in the day in their shared backstory to commit the Atrocities
em duo and happy duo tend to casually fuse pretty often(when the Horrors arent happening) and i think it would be CRIMINAL not to make em duo watermelon tourmaline. for happy duo tho, i was thinking black opal with primarily blue accents for their fusion, but then i remembered that i made bad a black opal with primarily red accents so i cant do that
clingy duo's easy answer would be bloodstone. so im gonna go with that one, and they usually fuse to punch things good. bee duo on the other hand, i dont think they fuse ever. its just not something they do
the schlatt/quackity fusion would be so fun to play around with theyre so awful for each other and i eat it up(the fiances have also fused and it was much better)
OHH i think maybe MAYBE in the butcher army arc when they go to techno's house, quackity makes them all fuse to fight him (he kicks their ASS) and that sorta put ranboo off fusing in a sorta "hmmm no thank you" kinda way
going back to tommy for a sec, i think MOST of his fusions are for power. like if they need to get the upper hand in a battle he'll ask to fuse but its not a common thing for him. schlatt/dream also do that but like in an asshole kinda way
i think wilbur also doesnt fuse. like an extension of his early l'manburg ideals but more personal "youre free to fuse but its not my cup of tea"
doomsday trio fused once but phil wasnt a big fan of it
this is NOT fusion related but i keep thinking about it SGFHFSDJ that one phil stream where kristin was walking around as him and got day drunk(i think about it often) i think that was her sorta 'white diamond'ing him, temporarily taking control of his body from a remote location to experience everyday gem life(ofc this was voluntary unlike white diamond's)
now WEAPONS
techno has the classic rose shield but thats about it for Gem Specific weapons, he has his sword, but he forged that himself, and of course, later down the line ranboo gifts him his axe which he ALSO made himself and everybody is shocked by this
phil has a scythe and it CAN shatter(angel of death teehee)
tommy, tubbo, ranboo, wilbur and probably a few others dont have traditional weapons. for the most part they have lights or gem powers, but no weapons as theyre not built for combat theyre built for other things!(the sword phil stabbed wilbur with was a rejuvenator that wilbur owned, but that also was not his 'Gem Weapon'. he also never used it ever and that certainly has implications)
ive been writing this for like 30 minutes thats all i got rn BUT i love a bit a' bantah and i would love to hear your ideas! if they are yummy enough i might use them perhaps no promises <333
I will never in my life understand people who will jump to defend DmC 2013 even though I have warmed up to it and think it's a decent action game, fucking what the hell do people see in it that they wanna go out their way to defend.
Even ignoring the pre-established series it's rebooting, the story of the game is literally "wake up sheeple" with zero depth, dialogue on par with Netflix's Cowboy Bebop, and the worst female support character I've seen in anything.
Focusing on her for a sec, Kat's whole deal is being traumatized and vulnerable to be used by Vergil so Dante can save her in the end and the director seriously bragged about her not being just "some hot girl with a bazooka".
The game is fine, maybe you like the controls and the aesthetic better than the main series i can get that but goddamn why the fuck do people think this is some underrated gem that didn't deserve the hate it has
Why Website Speed Matters More Than Ever
In a world of instant gratification, a slow website is a deal-breaker. Users expect pages to load in under two seconds, and if they donât, they bounce. Plain and simple. Google knows this too â and it rewards fast-loading sites with higher rankings. When you Convert JPG to WEBP, youâre essentially lightening the load on your site. Fewer megabytes means faster rendering, which equals happier visitors and better search visibility. Speed isnât just a luxury anymore; itâs a necessity.
Understanding Image File Formats: JPG vs WEBP
JPG has been around forever, right? Itâs the old-timer of the image world. Great for compatibility, not so much for compression. On the other hand, WEBP is the new kid with the magic touch. It compresses images better â keeping quality high and file sizes low. When you Convert JPG to WEBP, youâre saying goodbye to bloated images and hello to efficiency. Itâs like going from VHS tapes to streaming Netflix. Same story, way better delivery.
The Technical Benefits of WEBP Over JPG
Alright, letâs geek out for a sec. WEBP supports both lossy and lossless compression. It also includes alpha transparency and animation â features JPG just canât handle. When you Convert JPG to WEBP, you gain sharper images, smaller file sizes, and enhanced versatility. For web developers and site owners, this means better control over how your visuals perform across devices and browsers. Itâs the ultimate tech upgrade without touching a single line of code.
Impact of Image Size on Website Load Speed
Large image files are like traffic jams for your website. The heavier they are, the longer they take to load. Itâs basic physics â or, well, basic bandwidth. If your pages are packed with high-res JPGs, youâre making your visitors wait unnecessarily. By choosing to Convert JPG to WEBP, you slash image sizes without sacrificing clarity. Itâs like switching from a truckload of bricks to feather-light foam â same shape, way easier to carry.
How Converting JPG to WEBP Optimizes Performance
Performance is more than just speed â itâs about how efficiently your site runs. Every image you serve affects your pageâs load, and poor choices here ripple across the entire user experience. When you Convert JPG to WEBP, you eliminate unnecessary weight and reduce HTTP requests. That means smoother, snappier pages that keep users engaged and reduce bounce rates. Itâs like decluttering your digital home.
The SEO Advantage of Faster Image Loads
Googleâs algorithm loves speed. If your site is slow, youâre ranking lower â itâs that simple. Faster image delivery is a hidden SEO gem that too many people overlook. By opting to Convert JPG to WEBP, youâre giving your site the edge it needs to climb those SERP rankings. Think of it as turbocharging your on-page SEO without writing a single meta tag.
User Experience: Why Speed Equals Satisfaction
Imagine walking into a store and having to wait two minutes before the door opens. Thatâs how users feel on slow websites. Speed is part of the customer journey, and it defines their satisfaction. When you Convert JPG to WEBP, youâre ensuring that visuals donât get in the way of the experience. Instead, they enhance it â fast, clean, and frustration-free.
Is Your OEM-Provided SECS/GEM System Falling Short in Terms of Performance or Reliability?
In the fast-paced world of semiconductor manufacturing, seamless communication between equipment and control systems is vital for achieving high operational efficiency. SECS/GEMâthe Semiconductor Equipment Communication Standard and Generic Equipment Modelâis the cornerstone protocol enabling this level of communication. However, many Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)-provided SECS/GEM systems fail to deliver the performance and reliability manufacturers demand. If your current SECS/GEM system isnât meeting expectations, it may be time to reevaluate your approach.
The Critical Role of SECS/GEM Systems
SECS/GEM serves as the backbone of equipment-to-host communication, ensuring that machines interact effectively with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). From automating routine processes to monitoring equipment health, SECS/GEM protocols are integral to semiconductor operations. A robust SECS/GEM
communication protocol should provide:
Real-time data exchange for actionable insights.
Seamless GEM300 compliance for advanced automation.
Reliable and efficient equipment monitoring and control.
However, many OEM-provided SECS/GEM solutions are generic by design, which can lead to limitations in customization, scalability, and performance. These limitations often manifest as delayed responses, unreliable data transfers, and restricted flexibility in adapting to specific operational needs.
Common Shortcomings of OEM SECS/GEM Systems
Limited Customization: Most OEM SECS/GEM systems are designed for general use rather than tailored for your specific manufacturing environment. This lack of customization can result in a mismatch between the systemâs capabilities and your operational requirements.
Performance Issues: Generic SECS/GEM software often struggles with handling large data loads or maintaining consistent communication during peak operations. These issues can lead to unexpected downtime or operational inefficiencies.
Integration Challenges: OEM systems may lack the flexibility required for seamless SECS/GEM integration with your existing MES. This can hinder the flow of information across your manufacturing ecosystem, reducing overall productivity.
Lack of Advanced Features: Features such as predictive maintenance and comprehensive analyticsâincreasingly important in modern semiconductor manufacturingâare often absent or underdeveloped in OEM-provided SECS/GEM communication protocols.
Overcoming SECS/GEM System Limitations
To address these shortcomings, manufacturers can explore third-party SECS/GEM interface solutions that are specifically designed to enhance communication and operational efficiency. These systems are built with flexibility, scalability, and reliability in mind, providing an edge over standard OEM options.
Key Advantages of Upgrading Your SECS/GEM System:
Enhanced Performance: Custom SECS/GEM software solutions can handle higher data loads and deliver faster response times, ensuring reliable communication even under demanding conditions.
Greater Flexibility: Advanced SECS/GEM communication systems allow for greater customization to suit specific manufacturing needs.
Seamless GEM300 Compliance: Upgraded systems ensure adherence to GEM300 standards, facilitating advanced process automation and interoperability.
Improved Integration: Robust SECS/GEM integration capabilities simplify the connection between equipment and MES, enabling smoother operations.
Advanced Analytics: Modern SECS/GEM communication protocols often come with built-in tools for real-time data analysis and predictive maintenance, offering deeper insights into equipment performance.
Real-World Example: Transforming Operations with Upgraded SECS/GEM Systems
Consider a semiconductor manufacturer struggling with frequent communication breakdowns and operational delays due to an underperforming OEM-provided SECS/GEM system.
By deploying a custom third-party SECS/GEM communication protocol, they were able to:
Reduce downtime by 40% through reliable real-time data exchange.
Achieve seamless SECS/GEM integration with their MES, streamlining workflows.
Leverage predictive maintenance to prevent equipment failures, improving uptime.
Ensure GEM300 compliance for advanced automation capabilities.
The result? Higher operational efficiency, lower maintenance costs, and improved production yields.
If your OEM-provided SECS/GEM system is falling short in terms of performance or reliability, itâs time to explore advanced solutions. Investing in a robust SECS/GEM communication protocol tailored to your needs can significantly enhance your manufacturing capabilities. From seamless SECS/GEM integration and GEM300 compliance to predictive maintenance and real-time analytics, modern SECS/GEM systems are designed to meet the demands of todayâs semiconductor industry.
Russell briefly rubbed at the back of his neck when he saw the way Rowan raised a brow at him. But then he manages another small smile.
"Th-thank you, that's, that's very kind of you," as far as Russell assumed, Rowan was just being polite. But it was nice all the same for him to do that, "Heh, that's, real kind too. You, you have a, you have a nice, a nice face yourself."
But then Russell slowly stood, sliding his phone into his pocket as he did. He had thought about offering to take the tray back, but it seemed that Rowan had it under control.
"Oh that's, that's a real help. Th-thank you again," Russell said, "I'll, I'll look forward to, to possibly play-playing with, with you some-sometime. And I'll, I'll gladly point out, point out any, any others you, you might enjoy too."
Russell then made a move to head back to the shop part of Hidden Gems, so he could get back work.
"I guess I'll, I'll see you in, in a sec. It's, it's been real, real great meet-meeting you."
Rowan raised a brow as he entered his own contact into Russellâs phone.
âHey now! None of that, cutie. I love listening to your voice. Stutter and all.â Row grinned as he handed the phone back to him.
âIâd just prefer to hear it in person so I can also see your pretty face.â Rowan stood up to clean their table.
âI think Iâll get those games we talked about. Iâm actually excited to get back into gaming.â Looking over at Russell, the fae couldnât help but chuckle.
âSo Iâll see you before I head out. You go brighten your customersâ days like you did mine. Though, I may get a little jealous.â He gave him a playful wink. He knew a lot of his flirting had gone over the otherâs head. It was beginning to be a game and a challenge. One that Rowan was enjoying. He already was fond of the human⊠though he wasnât sure why. And showering him with compliments was just too fun.
