The atmosphere was warm, stuffy even, especially considering the temperature difference from inside the bar when compared to the outside—autumn had decided to come quite early this year, with summery days full of constant sunlight, but bitterly cold nights that forced you to snuggle under the covers extra deep with your husband. You smiled a little as your thought drifted to him, the love of your life. You still remembered the first day that you met, how he’d caught your eye immediately with his toothy, heart-shaped smile and big brown eyes that caught the light perfectly, making your young heart skip a beat as he locked eyes with you. You’d admired his confidence too, how he wasn’t afraid to walk right up to a stranger he found attractive and crack a bad joke to try and entice you, even though it was evident you were already enamored by him.
There were plenty of things you loved about Jisung, anyone who knew you could probably recite a mile-long list by heart just from how much you talked about him subconsciously, so in love with him that you managed to sneak him into conversations that were completely off-topic. Maybe it was a little annoying sometimes, but really, your friends were just glad that you were happy, if that was a good enough word to describe how much you really loved Jisung.
You swirled your drink around in your glass, chattering away happily with Felix and one of your old friends from high school, recounting a quirky tale from one of your many vacations with Jisung. Just then, the man himself plopped down in between you and Felix, one hand on his hip and the other holding up his face, flushed reddish-pink from the alcohol. “Hey,” he said flirtily, wiggling his eyebrows, “wanna go out sometime?” You covered your mouth with your hand, giggling as Felix groaned and walked off, muttering something about catching up with you later, dragging your old friend along with him so she wouldn’t have to suffer through Jisung’s horrible attempts at being cute.
“We’ve been married for five years,” you sang, sipping your drink, not playing his little game. He picked up on it immediately, frowning and scooting closer to you, putting an arm around your shoulders and whining in your ear.
“We’ve been married for five years,” you sang, sipping your drink, not playing his little game. He picked up on it immediately, frowning and scooting closer to you, putting an arm around your shoulders and whining in your ear.
“Just play along,” he slurred, and you shook your head, smiling playfully as you pinched his chubby red cheeks.
“I think it’s time we go home,” you noted, finally noticing the way Chan was motioning to a large collection of empty glasses, all presumably from your tipsy husband. “You’ve certainly had quite a night.” Your tone was light-hearted, and Jisung perked up when he heard your teasing tone, burying his face in your chest as he hugged you.
“Will you help me to the car?” he asked sheepishly, his senses coming back to him just a little.
You hummed in approval, holding his hand tightly and guiding him to the exit, making sure to wave at your friends to let them know of your departure. You helped Jisung to the car, making sure he didn’t trip over his own feet in the dark parking lot, and slid into the driver’s seat, adjusting the mirror so that you could see properly. You sighed, looking over at Jisung with admiration as he drew little hearts on the fogged up window.
He kissed you on the cheek as you began pulling away from the bar, whispering, “Thank you for helping me. You’re my person, you know that?”
“I know,” you teased once more, and he scoffed, reaching for your free hand and lacing his fingers with yours.
“I love you,” he said seriously, squeezing your hand gently, “I’m so lucky to have you in my life.”
“I love you too,” you said back, bringing your entwined hands up to your mouth so you could kiss the back of his hand, your lips grazing his knuckles and making him flush. Even after five years, he still felt butterflies in his stomach every time he looked at you, he never once questioned his decision to live his life with you. He was so lucky to have you, and he promised to make sure you would never forget how much he loved you.
Little did he know, you were thinking the exact same thing about him, smiling to yourself as you flipped through your memories, your heart surging with warmth as you thought about the love of your life.

give us that good npc content 👀
Anon I got this sometime in the afternoon, then spent hours looking at it, so overcome with emotion that I just...could not answer the ask until now.
After a long career of being only occasionally squirmy, I have discovered that apparently being invited to talk about by NPCs is what it takes to get me flustered. I hate it here /j
For the sake of anonymity, I’m referring to my characters by the names I originally gave them before settling on the final versions? My campaign is unique enough where people who know me would recognize my NPCs by name and....no.......<3
If I ever answer an ask like “who?” If you ask about an NPC I’m so sorry just aggressively gesture to this post ahsbfifhfbf
Also my campaign is pirate-themed!
Headcanons under the cut! This is...very long. Oops.
Capt. Oliver Blackwood
Human Warlock/Rogue multiclass! The only thing is that no one really knows about the Warlock part, and he pretends he doesn’t know about magic/tries to be subtle about it.
OLLIE MY BELOVED SPECIAL BOY <3
He’s my favorite 🥺
He’s incredibly touch starved. He’s got a pretty standard tragic past. His development is very much the ‘charismatic character hides their pain with jokes’ + ‘secretive character talks in circles around backstory bc trust issues’ tropes but then! He acquires a found family and learns to love again
But hello touch-starved 👀
One of my players kissed him on the cheek and he made the internet dial-up sound (plus she knows he’s ticklish now, everyone say thank you insight)
Ollie’s like a 8 in sensitivity y’know? A lil over average. Not really hypersensitive. So he claims.
My god he giggles. He has this sort of orchestrated ‘I’m in public, this is what laughs are supposed to sound like’ laugh that he’s perfected over years of pretending, but he is. So giggly when he’s drunk, lets his guard down, or when he’s tickled (metaphorically and physically). He’s so so embarrassed about it because it doesn’t fit this collected, charismatic persona he’s made.
His captain’s hat has a feather in it and both his ex (they’re on good terms) and his bf (well if my players don’t date him, which they want to, but I set up that he ends up with a bf if they don’t get with him) both bully him by dragging it across his ears and neck.
His ribs, stomach, and hips are SO bad. He’s one of those people who folds over when you get a bad spot? His bf loves to sneak up behind him and ever-so-gently curl fingers into bad spots just to hear him wheeze out giggles.
Ollie’s useless when it comes to hiding laughter or not laughing. He scrunches his nose and puffs his cheeks and then the fight is lost.
He’s got a lot of scars and gentle tickles over them have him in BITS (bf’s fav activity, obviously)
He kicks!!! And squirms!!!!
As a ler he’s super mischievous and SPEEDY (he can walk without audible footsteps so. Ideal for shenanigans)
Doesn’t really know how to vocalize it but he loves the warmth and affection of being tossed around, wrestled down, and tickled by someone he loves.
MY BELOVED DARLING <3
Roman
It’s him! My boy! Ollie’s bf and all around himbo.
Half-orc half-aasimar oath of the open sea paladin!
He’s built like a brick shithouse. I take no criticism. Beefy with a squishy tummy. 7 and a half feet tall. Rockin tits. Optimal bf construction.
Pure of heart dumb of ass! Not a single light on upstairs! The wii shop music is playing in his head at all times.
Affectionately called Ro or Roro by everyone who knows him (I mean....Roman is not his Real Name anymore but he does have a cute nickname for his real name too)
He’s pretty ticklish, probs like a 7, but he’s so beefy that taking him down is very much a group/magic effort. Extremely sensitive to squeezes and gentle tickles (rough tickles don’t get to him and it gives him the chance to get the upper hand)
His stomach, biceps, thighs, and sides? He will die. He has super ticklish ears too! Ollie thinks it’s incredibly endearing :)
Ro has wings! They’re golden and downy and (partially) incorporeal? They pass through things like his clothes and doors and such but it’s possible to feel around the edges of them/rest your hands on them if you don’t think too intently about it
That being said, Ollie knows this and makes excellent use of this knowledge. It’s an incapacitating spot for Ro, he gets so desperate, and Ollie loves the way his laugh gets a little musical and reflects his heritage :)
Ro is thee ler to rule them all. Bear hugs? check. Throwing lees over his shoulder/carrying them under his arms with ease? Check. Chasing down a lee and tackling them? Mhm. He can do it all!
Super playful and casually teasy! He’s way wiser than most people expect and is...mildly intrigued by analyzing what makes his friends tick. Meaning he has the potential to be thee most ruthless teaser but he usually reins it in so he doesn’t make anyone uncomfy yknow?
Likes making his friends happy :)
Kiernan
WIFEYYYYYYYYYY
Ro’s cousin! Half-orc half-aasimar path of wild magic barbarian!
Stronk like mountain and so delightfully earnest and awkward. Just a big lady who’s here for a good time.
7′4″ and forever bitter that Ro grew to be taller than her, but she lovingly bullies him to make up for it <3
Also like an 8 in ticklishness BUT only ticklish in very specific spots. She doesn’t react at all otherwise. The spots in question: her booty, backs of her thighs, palms of her hands, her spine/shoulderblades, and upper ribs. She’s never been able to resist there.
She has such contagious laughter!! So open and free and she yelps a lot.
Gets super blushy and curls up when she’s tickled like “nooooooooooo” she’s so CUTE
Other half of Ro’s tag team. They are insufferable together. CEOs of scooping up their friends and working together to destroy them, including pointing out spots that the other is missing, having normal conversations over a screeching lee and having the audacity to shush them, and teasing one another about who’s the better ler and making their lee decide (and there is no right answer <3)
Top ten women who deserve a kiss. All ten are Kiernan.
Falls for a lot of tickle traps, including the classic “Don’t!” “Don’t what?” “Tickle me! NO WAIT--”
Fun fact pinching her bicep anywhere close to her shoulder will have her in shambles. Secret spot she doesn’t know about. Very good spot.
Quinn Tissaia
WIFEYYYYYYYYYY 2: electric boogaloo
Half-elf Circle of the Moon Druid!
Mom friend. Responsible one that begs everyone not to set things on fire but she’s chuckling on the sidelines when the others get wrecked, casually pointing out spots and using shape water to be a bully.
She’s got some ~lore~ about her connection to water and the sea that I won’t get into, but she does have a lot of water spells, and I’m just saying...feathers made of snow...Quills used by watery hands...WATERY HANDS...
She’s like a 5! Definitely could be made to laugh and surrender but chances are she’s wrecking you before you can think about it
So rude. So MEAN. Makes little noises of interest at every funny sound and chases it, catalogues reactions for later, and various devious uses of magic while she’ll sit off to the side, filing her nails and listening to her lee cackle. Mean. Wife <3
Despite that, usually the first person to suggest that Ro or Kiernan should let their lee go. HYPOCRITE
Her ears are deathly ticklish and it’s a secret she protects with her life.
She wears a lot of loose, flowy clothing which makes it very enticing for anyone to attempt tickling her, but they only get in one side squeeze before she whirls on them and takes them down.
Puts on an outward appearance of being stern and responsible but she’s a baby sister. She used to be such a little fiend and she STILL IS, she just hides it behind boring things like diplomacy and civility.
Can easily take on Ro and Kiernan and win. Wife <3
Thank you for indulging me, anon! I’m sending you a personalized forehead kiss. Mwah <3

REVIEWING THE CHARTS: 27th January 2019
FEATURED SONG #3 – “Happy Together” by Weezer
This isn’t necessarily being pushed as a single but I don’t care it was released a week or two back and I adore it so I’m covering it briefly on this week’s Featured Song segment. Now, ‘90s alt-rock act Weezer have had somewhat of a resurgence with their meme-fuelled cover of Toto’s “Africa”, which actually acted as the lead single for their surprise Teal Album, which dropped on January 23rd, to mixed reviews, but I personally loved it, and their cover of the Turtles’ “Happy Together” is my personal favourite of the 10 tracks presented. It’s very similar to the original, that is true, and yeah, they stick to the formula and do not escape their comfort zone, but do you need to? This is the most sincere I’ve heard Rivers Cuomo since Pinkerton but instead of whining like his old stuff, he seems genuinely content, and that’s what I love about this song, because it’s just Rivers Cuomo expressing his love for either his significant other or how I interpreted it, his job as a musician, because although they’ve had ups and downs in their career to the point where they’ve had to use Kickstarter to even record, release and promote one of their albums, Rivers Cuomo sticks to his craft and loves music so much that he’d be fit for all his life just doing what he loves, and I appreciate that. This song is so glittery and purely joyful, and I love it. Check it out, and maybe the Teal Album if you’re into this.
Alright, I’m focusing on my Top 15 Best Hit Songs of 2018 right now, so let’s make this as quick as possible.
Top 10
Yeah, we have a #1 debut, and our first in the 2019 chart year, and it’s Ariana Grande with “7 rings”, as it shatters records, debuting at the top in America, becoming her second in such a short time as “thank u, next” also debuted at its peak of #1 two or so months ago. It’s Ariana Grande’s 17th Top 40 hit in the UK and her fourth #1. We’ll talk about it later.
Otherwise, eh, nothing really happened. “Sweet but Psycho” by Ava Max is down a spot to number-two.
“Dancing with a Stranger” by Sam Smith and Normani on the other hand is up a space to number-three.
Post Malone’s “Wow.” is also down a single position to number-four.
This puts it right near Calvin Harris and Rag ‘n’ Bone Man entering the top five with “Giant”, a two-spot increase from last week to number-five.
Mark Ronson and Miley Cyrus’ “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” struggled down four positions this week to number-six.
Post Malone’s other top 10 hit, “Sunflower”, with Swae Lee, from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, is also down two spots to number-seven.
Ariana Grande’s last #1, “thank u, next”, is down two spots to number-eight.
The only notable switch-up outside of the #1 today is the 25-spot boost for Russ’ “Gun Lean”, which has somehow made its way to number-nine. It’s not the American rapper, it’s the British rapper who calls himself “Russ splash” on Spotify but otherwise it’s just Russ? I’m not sure how to separate them, to be honest. Congratulations for his first top 10 hit, but, I mean, it’s awful.
Finally, at #10, down two spots from last week is “Play” by Jax Jones and Years & Years.
Climbers
“Someone You Loved” by Lewis Capaldi is up a whopping sixteen spaces up to #13, although I don’t see the appeal, becoming his first top 20 hit. “Undecided” by Lil Dicky is back five spaces up to #16... and that’s it.
Fallers
We have a couple more of these, though. “Lost in the Fire” by Gesaffelstein featuring the Weeknd is down six off the debut to #15, both “18HUNNA” by Headie One and Dave and “Hold My Girl” by George Ezra are down 10 spaces to #21 and #22 respectively, whilst right next to them are two consecutive six-spot fallers, those being “Ruin My Life” by Zara Larsson and “Baby Shark” by Pinkfong at #23 and #24. “Baby” by Clean Bandit, Marina and Luis Fonsi is down five to #28, next to “Hello My Love” by Westlife, plummeting down sixteen spaces to #29, which is also next to another six-spot faller, “Thursday” by Jess Glynne at #30. Speaking of six-space fallers, “One Kiss” by Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa is at #32, and “Mo Bamba” by Sheck Wes is down five to #33. Other than that, we have two eight-space falls at the tail-end of the chart, with “Promises” by Sam Smith and Calvin Harris at #38, and “This is Me” by Keala Settle and the Greatest Showman Ensemble at #39.
Dropouts
“Longshot” by Catfish and the Bottlemen is out from #25, “Leave a Light On” by Tom Walker is out from #37, “Eastside” by benny blanco featuring Halsey and Khalid is out from #39, “Woman Like Me” by Little Mix featuring Nicki Minaj is out from #40 and “A Million Dreams” by P!NK is out from #35.
Returning Entries
“2002” by Anne-Marie is back at #40 but what amazes me is the sudden return for “Close to Me” by Ellie Goulding, Diplo and Swae Lee at #25, up 32 spaces from its position in the top 100. Did they release an album or something? I just don’t know what made it suddenly increase this high. Other than that, nothing interesting here, let’s get to the new arrivals.
NEW ARRIVALS
#27 – “Psych Out!” – AJ Tracey
I’ve heard one or two songs from AJ Tracey and he just does not impress me or even come off as interesting. Apparently, he’s releasing an album soon, which is okay, but as a buzz single, does this entice me at all? I mean, yeah, to an extent, because it starts with a minimalistic bubbling synth melody that twinkles for a while until AJ Tracey, self-proclaimed melodic jukebox, sings over the beat as the kicks kick in, and slowly but surely, the skittering trap percussion hits and, yeah, I’m bored. The hook is catchy and in all honesty pretty great, AJ Tracey’s not a bad singer, but as his third top 40 hit, this is just such a re-tread of what he’s already done, and I don’t care about anything he has to say – because he doesn’t have anything to say, he’s just a disposable UK rapper who happened to latch onto a decent chorus and bam, you get a hit. This makes me feel bad for criticising American trap. Next.
#11 – “Don’t Call Me Up” – Mabel
Mabel isn’t really more interesting either – delightful – but she’s a British R&B singer who I think has a great voice and a knack for melodies, at least her producers and writers do, because all of her songs so far have been incredibly catchy, especially that “Fine Line” track with Not3s I reviewed nearly a year ago now. I’ve heard snippets of this one, and it seems like typical Mabel fare, except her performance is slightly sub-par and we’ve got some cheaper, yet almost vintage 80s-sounding string synths. The chorus is such an abrupt shift as that pounding bass comes in with the dancehall-infused drum beat and what sounds like a marimba, again, I’m not entirely sure, but I know it sounds pretty great, and I like how Mabel can pump out hits like this consistently (this being her fifth Top 40). This is pretty fun – pretty simple, conventional and essentially just more of the same, but like I said with the Featured Song above, it doesn’t need to be to be a fun dance song, and that’s exactly what this is. Mabel doesn’t really care about the narrative or even her performance at times, but she rides this beat insanely well with her smooth, sultry and dare I say proudly British voice, so, yeah, I’m happy with this, and I can see it peaking in the top 10 somewhere.
#1 – “7 rings” – Ariana Grande
So, I skimmed this Pitchfork piece about the song being so out-of-character for Grande considering how most of the roll-out for her album thank u, next has been about being relatable and almost sympathetic for Ariana Grande with all her recent struggles, and that this is some kind of break from that character, although I think that’s on purpose as it shows how she covers her issues and struggles with materialistic items (even though she doesn’t, and is clearly okay with making her grievances public in interviews and such). I do see how this can be a shattering of the facade though, similarly to “I Might Need Security” by Chance the Rapper last year, but there’s one issue with that comparison: the Chance song was good. The Chance song didn’t have a lazy, hackneyed interpolation of “My Favourite Things”. The Chance song maybe had a lightweight beat but there was a sample to add some soulfulness to it and it wasn’t just a lightweight trap “banger” that proves nothing other than the fact that this is only shameless genre-hopping for the sake of trend-following and not any artistic purpose now. Chance’s flow was calm, relaxed and potentially you could see it as lazy, but at least his flows were, you know, original, or at least not blatantly jacked from other rappers such as Soulja Boy of all people, who, by the way, has an absolute mess of a Discord server, find an invite to that at some time. Eh, I can’t be too mad at this because Grande is a great singer and the third verse has an okay flow, but this is way too stiff. Pass.
Conclusion
Best of the Week goes to Mabel for “Don’t Call Me Up” but I still do feel that’s unwarranted because it isn’t entirely great. Worst of the Week goes to AJ Tracey for “Psych Out!”, and, yeah, that’s it for this week. See you on Sunday!
