Some things we know:

Amazon Prime is the streaming service that took it up Season 1 will be released in January 2024

It's going to get a season 2

The voice actors still haven't been announced for some reason? The trailer has no dialogue on top of that. We see Lucifer, a lot of Alastor and Vox fighting, the weird demon-looking angel Adam, a meeting of Hell overlords discussing the angel threats, and Sir Pentious is part of the gang now. That's about it? The trailer's music reminds me of a Disney movie for kids. There are a lot of Tinkerbell chime noises and jazzy upbeat music which I don't think is fitting for what the show is trying to go for as a teen-to-adult plot regarding demons from Hell being murdered and dealing with abuse. (They have "Guess what, bitches?" on a text screen in the trailer too) So first impression is extreme overcrowding. List of characters that appear in the trailer alone: Charlie Alastor Vaggie Angel Dust Husker Niffty Sir Pentious Lucifer Lilith Vox Velvet Adam Rosie and we all know Cherri Bomb and Valentino are gonna show up too. These are way too many characters to introduce or juggle in an 8 episode season. There is no possible way to give our main characters enough screen time, focus, or development to make them meaningful protagonists. They either have to rush plots or drop character arcs to squeeze things into 8 episodes.

#really confused and surprised theres a season 2 announced when season 1 hasnt even been released yet #but it is A24 so maybe theyre more willing with their money than netflix or disney #im confused as to why it was announced as soon as the writers strike ended #because season 1 was finished and it was nothing but streaming service deals and PR team stuff happening at that point #so i dont think that is hte reason #it had to have been a streaming service deal still being refined #i just dont see anything meanful in the announcement trailer so #we'll have to wait for the official one #hazbin hotel #hazbin hotel critical #im kinda sad that im not excited anymore #i waited years for this series #but after helluva boss season 2 #ive kinda learned what to expect and i dont think its gonna be any good #especially because it breaks a ton of religious lore rules #and that means the world building is gonna be a mess #watch charlie vaggie and niffty get no development #everyone is still also very very red #the thumbnail alone... who are we meant to focus on?#im so tired

Welp, it was a good run, but it looks like Baron has officially lost to the lawyer cats at @best-fictional-cat so we shall not be getting our catbus rematch :(

However, it's been frankly amazing that Baron managed to hold his own against the behemoth that is the ace attorney fandom, and that a civil time was had by all. (Or at least, if there were any fist fights, I didn't see them.)

To the gay lawyer fandom: congrats and well played o7 You're up against the catbus next, and I know who I'm voting for ;)

To the TCR fandom: fear not, Baron might be out of the running, but @tcrmommabear and I have our own poll up our sleeve, and it's not a competition, but something quite different that I can't wait to share with y'all!

#ive tried multiple times to write down my thoughts on this but my brain is just too scattered and it comes out all jumbled #but here's another attempt i guess #so yeah ive read the medium article about rusty quill. i'm absolutely gutted.#i suppose it's not super surprising but still. i hadnt expected it to be this bad #ive never really cared about rq as a company tbh but i do care about tma! a lot!#its been my special interest for almost 2 years now and if you're not autistic #(or hell maybe even if you are autistic - everyone experiences autism differently ofc)#i dont think you understand what that means. its not just a show i like. its like a part of my identity #its helped me through some really tough times and i can't begin to describe how happy it made me #when a continuation was announced just as i was once again going through some bullshit #i really want to still be excited about tmp because it really is so important to me #and tbh i dont think there's anything wrong with still enjoying tma/tmp? you can like sth and still be critical of the company behind it #and tma was written and created by jonny and not alex so i do sorta see it as its own thing and not just sth made by rq #but i keep seeing people on here acting like you have to boycott tmp (or even tma) now and that just makes me really upset #ill cancel my patreon and withdraw my kickstarter pledge and all #because i dont want to financially support rq unless they make some significant changes and commit to them #but i still want to engage with my special interest! need to really because thats just the way my brain works #and sticking to fandom content wont work for me because a lot of tma fandom stuff just... isnt my cup of tea #i'll take it as an addition to canon but not as a replacement #maybe i should just stop listening to what other people say #but its really difficult to deal with all this negativity about sth that means so much to me #might take a break from tumblr for a while for the sake of my mental health #i feel silly for being so upset about this but it is what it is #sometimes i do wish i had a different brain #anyway sorry for the rant #if you read this far: i love you. have some flowers 🌼🌻🌺🌹🌸🌷💐
