FIERI: Except for maybe the handmade sope. I've been able to get something really good on this for awhile, probably around the last few years, but as far as the art goes, what I really wanted to do (in my head) is draw the Sope with a lot of detail and make it with the light and the shadows.

Matt accidently scaring the shit out of Gil is so fucking funny. Love how Arthur looks at Matt and sees a little malnourished soping wet kitten left outside in a storm and everyone else sees some ghoulish, brutally stone-cold being 💀. Arthurs the 'it dont bite' to Gils 'GET YOUR DOG!!'. When Gil is over what do their normal breakfast table conversations even look like? It seems like itd be a little awkward.

To be fair, that version of Matt is the one he got when Matt finally stopped shooting at anything speaking English. Sad cold baby. I feel like this is something to try and avoid as best they can. Who wants to watch their parent/mentor make googly-eyes across the table 😂. Matt just like "😬 sorry about that time I slit your throat and drowned you in a trench crater. Or the time I rolled a grenade under your latrine. Or the surrendering prisoners of war— yeah, I'm just going to go— love you dad, bye!" as he grabs some toast and runs for a train to Glasgow as Arthur tells him not to forget an umbrella and his jacket because good god, Alasdair is going to think this is so funny.

London’s National Theatre is hosting an evening of poetry readings from Allie Esiri’s bestselling poetry anthologies to raise money for the Disaster Emergency Committee’s (DEC) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

Esiri will lead an evening of poetry which journeys through the calendar year, reflecting the changing seasons and linking to events on key dates during the year. Poems will be read on the Olivier stage by actors including Tom Hiddleston (“Coriolanus”Loki”), Asa Butterfield (“Sex Education”), Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù (“Gangs of London”), Kate Fleetwood (“King Lear”) and Ukranian actor Dária Plahtíy (“Battle for Sevastopol”) as well as a pre-recorded reading from Helena Bonham Carter.

The event will be on March 17th, and tickets are available here.

What do you think about Namjoon not being nominated in even one category for MAMAs?

I wasn't expecting him to get nominated in any category, so nothing's changed for me between yesterday and today. The only people who I suppose are disappointed are those who were unaware what his streams, views, and sales look like relative to other members. The same goes for Seokjin.

I understand the disappointment though. Many Namjoon biases note how he's often the target and subject of hate more than other members (I've noted Jimin gets more graphic forms of hate but Joon as the face of the group deals with more), how he serves as the sonic/lyrical foundation of BTS, replicated and improved on all of that in Indigo; and yet the fandom gravitates towards supporting the more conventionally attractive members in the group which are the maknae-line (and who also happen to have the most competitive akgaes), or compared to members who have diversified their appeal outside the fandom through dancing and producing for other people the way SOPE have done. It's just the reality of how most fandoms work in general.

But at the same time, I don't feel bad for him. Lol. Maybe it's just me, but I'm not trying to gas him up when I say I recognize he has a reputation that's solid beyond k-pop awards and that outpaces k-pop trends. The people asking to borrow his personal art collection for national exhibitions aren't keeping up with how many MAMA awards he (or any BTS member) has, neither are the artists the world over who are eager to work with him as equals. I've talked about this on my blog before, but during the pandemic I managed a music blog with my friends who are musicians (as their day job). A couple months ago they joined me for a listening session of all BTS solo albums. They loved Namjoon's Indigo the most and went on to share his music within their circle of musicians. Whether or not he gets k-pop awards, his reputation and artistic merit is rock solid.

The reasons I love and respect Namjoon aren't unique to me.

One could say the point is not about his reputation but about how the fandom supports him, but I don't expect equal treatment from the fandom because no fandom works like that. As unpopular an opinion as this is, I think ARMYs actually show more equitable treatment between the members than any other fandom, and this is seen by the achievements, streams, and sales Namjoon does have compared to other k-pop solo artists and even Western rappers. People forget that the 'worst' performers in BTS are still extremely and objectively successful by every single metric. I'm looking forward to his next project and will support it if I like it, regardless of what the fandom does or doesn't do.

After one too many drinks, Hyunjae sends a pickup line to his favorite idol during a live. Fortunately, Juyeon’s English isn’t great. Unfortunately, Juyeon’s co-idol speaks fluent English.

* Trust Issues (VHope):

Hobi has always known he’s gay, but he makes good money in the straight porn industry. When he finally gets up the courage to come out, he’s fired. Taehyung helps him get a job in the gay porn industry & might be the one to patch up Hobi’s damaged feelings

Did you ever find it odd how about 2 or 3 times now the members have made some “couple” jokes about Jikook? If we assume that the company knows about taekook then that means the members must definitely know as well right? So wasn’t it a little insensitive for Jin to ask JM and Jungkook if they were dating that one time they were playing that push game? I mean Tae was right there and i don’t know if it was just his face but he kinda didn’t look too pleased about it and didn’t laugh even though almost everyone else including jm and Jk laughed about it.

I also remember that one time jikook both wore denim shirts and were taking pictures at the back and Namjoon looked at them and asked if they are a couple or something because they were kinda matching. I know there’s been other times when other members like Sope have made couple Jokes but that’s kinda different because it’s not like any of them is dating a member so that’s why i found it a little bit odd that they did that. And oh, i just remembered the 3rd instance. It was during Festa 2020 when Jk mentioned the rainy day story and while JM was narrating what happened, Suga said “ that’s what a couple would do” or something about couple and then Namjin’s reactions weren’t helping either. They started singing a song which apparently was from a drama where two lovers reunited under the rain. Why would they do stuff like this knowing that Jk is actually in a relationship with another member in the same group? I found it highly insensitive.

Even on ITS when Jk and Jm stayed up all night and then JM woke up and was about to leave and then Jk said “Do you want some Ramyeon”. Ok, anybody who knows a little about k culture knows immediately that, that is the most popular sexual innuendo there is. Plus even the way he phrased it was textbook kdrama booty call or netflix and chill plus his and Jimin’s reaction didn’t help. At face value he was probably just asking JM if he wanted to eat Ramyeon but Jm’s answer was “ I’m sleepy, i’m tired, let’s go to sleep now”?????? I mean even regular ARMYs sideeyed that moment a bit and i gave Jk a big sideeye because there’s no way he didn’t know how that came across and i don’t know how many of you were in the fandom when that episode aired but the entire K side were talking about it and they didn’t air that part on national tv. We could only get it on payed content. I dunno but somethings are just weird.

Call me delulu but most of these examples just reinforce that Jikook isn’t real to me? If the other members are openly joking about it when they tend to hide Taekook closeness? Maybe it is insensitive but I’m more convinced lately that whatever happens on company content stays in company content and that Tae handles it by zoning out 😂

As for ramyeon, I’ve never seen that. I’ve just found it:

Their giggles 🤭 this seems innocuous to me. JK’s face is his dirty joke face. I don’t put it past him. Remember that time Jin waggled his tongue at JKs hand and JK stood up as if he was dragging Jin somewhere private? Or saying he’d explain the rules of uno to Tae in his room? I’m still convinced he said something dirty to Tae during their lap sitting move. And what IS tasty in Busan, JK?
