Heyyy you have any hcs about Andy? Esp with the builder and/or Logan? Always love readin ur hcs btw :3c
Andy? You mean my child? The one I kidnapped expressed adopted without the paperwork? My lil ray of sassy sunshine, Andy? Bold of you to assume I would waste my time creating some headcan-
🦸🏼‍♂️Andy🦸🏼‍♂️
-what a smart adorable little cookie. I mean, look at his adorable freckles and tired eyes!
-this isn’t his first life. You can just tell by how he views the world and dispels random bits of wisdom that no preteen should be capable of doing.
-he’s a big lover of animals and treats most with kindness if they’re friendly and passive. Those that aren’t and that he can just refer to as monsters or mutants or beasts? He still likes to observe them from a safe distance
-you’d think his favorite monster would be a rockyenaroll or a boxing Jack, but nope. It’s a pensky and he’ll take that secret to his grave.
-fastest little thing you’ll ever witness if you manage to not blink. He’s impossible to catch up to or wrangle and he knows it too. He gives Jasmine a run for her money. Because of it, they always have random little races and make bets on them.
-he’s very loyal to Logan and Haru, especially Logan. How can he not be? They’re his dads! He never expected for there to be more room in his heart and life for another person.
-oh but hey, that builder. Hm.
-even after being such a little shit to them in the beginning, he can’t deny that they still treat him with a certain kindness he’s been missing from someone like them.
-ok ok, so what if he kidnapped expressed adopted another parental unit? What if he’s trying to push them towards Logan? What if he’s secretly planning the wedding between the two and seeking covert help for it? Like, mind your own business pls and thanks
-he’s getting better with his manners but sometimes forgets them in his excitement or in a moment of distraction. But he makes up for it when he has his sudden bursts of recollection like: “can you help me tie this?” And soon after you begin- “dang, I forgot to say please. Can you please help me tie this?” Orrr you give him something and he takes off after maybe shouting “awesome!” Or “you’re the best!”, and that’s fine. He’s a kid. But then he’ll either reappear just as fast (kid is like the Flash, remember) or he’ll stop by your door hours later and like “I forgot to say thank you earlier. Sorry ‘bout that. Thanks for earlier!”
-big big big fan of affection from the adults he trusts the most. As soon as he realizes the builder cares for him and loves him? He doesn’t care how tall or old he is even as time progresses, he’ll go from hugging their hips and pressing his cheek to their waist at a fireside meeting, to hanging off them when he’s as tall as Logan, he’ll hang off them.
-not this boy being a long and threatening shadow and- oh. No. It’s just him draping himself across the builder’s back and complaining about his homework again.
-once he realizes how human Logan is and vulnerable at times, he tries to read the man better and keep him from any pain. Even at a young age. He does whatever he can to prevent Logan from enduring any more hurt than before.
-Qi actually likes him! Everyone including the two themselves are surprised about it. Qi was ready to talk this kid’s ear off as a lesson for knocking on his lab’s doors when Andy suddenly told him he wanted to know his thoughts on space exploration for a paper he was writing. Kid actually nabbed the scientist’s heart and now he’s got someone to obsess over space and the stars with. Qi won’t admit it, but he always has time for Andy even when he’s busy.
-family dinners are a must!!! Everyone’s gotta be there. The builder, Logan, Haru, Nemo, grandma Vivi, Rambo, Jasmine. It makes Andy happy seeing some of his found family together.
-he becomes the town’s errand boy for a few years and he actually enjoys it. It keeps him active, healthy, in shape, and expends the energy that used to drive him up a wall! He doesn’t mind running here and there. But he does believe in breaks! They’re important and he’ll chew a person a new one if they tell him to take his break later.
-please please please let the builder ask Andy to help with some commissions. He’s a smart kid! He knows how to read instructions! Lmao what is this? Swedish IKEA furniture? He’s got an active mind and loves when his hard work and efforts are recognized. Plus, he loves the builder and wants to help them. It’s literally a win in his book.
-Jensen thinks Andy likes trains, but really, Andy is just curious about the mechanics and inner workings of them. He won’t break his heart tho so
-Andy often finds himself lounging on a work table of the builder’s when he’s got a free moment and doesn’t have any responsibilities to get to.
-the builder’s home is a second home for Andy. If allowed to come at any time, any day, he’ll take them up on the offer. Bonus points if Nemo has been adopted by the builder too.
-Andy’s got his own throw blanket in their living room. His own toothbrush if he spends the night. His favorite spot to sit. His own books at the bottom of their book shelf. Even his own preferred dishes and silverware.
-Andy’s got a great intelligence and is made for activity and being tasked with things, but for the life of him, he cannot focus on homework if he doesn’t have the right conditions and hasn’t expelled his energy. The builder has gotten used to unlocking their door to find Andy sitting on the floor with his throw blanket over his shoulders, Nemo in his lap, and the child hunched over the coffee table with homework spread across the surface. This even carries on when he gets older.
-Andy likes to let Logan, Haru and the builder know he needs them, even when he doesn’t. So sometimes he’ll request their help with things he’s capable of doing by himself. Or he’ll take on more challenging tasks and ask them for assistance if he knows they can do it. It’s his wordless gesture that he sees their value and reminds them of their importance in his life.
-Andy demands Haru be made a teacher for math and science. He doesn’t have anything against his current one, but the boy has lived with Haru long enough to know how he works and what he has to offer for Andy’s education.
-the builder is the one Andy goes to when he wants to confide in someone. Logan doesn’t really mind it considering he’s the more apparent father figure in his life and he knows how Andy sees him, but he also knows how hard it is to be emotional at times and the builder is someone both of them can trust to take care of his feelings and insecurities.
-if Logan and the builder are together,
-Logan’s gotta accept the fact Andy really loves affection from his S/O, especially if they’re f!builder because of that missing maternal bond he lacks and they make up for. He’s fine with it, just jealous bc now he’s gotta sit on the opposite end of the couch when the two of them are all the way over there, cuddled and bonding. He’s fine.
-it really feels like a family with both his express adoptive parents under one roof with him and their pet (he’ll riot if it’s not Nemo. Literally.) Nothing makes him happier than having them together
-Andy won’t call Logan or the builder “dad” and “mom”- though, he has slipped before and did so, but that’s a story for another time. But he views them as such and treats them like they are. To strangers, he’ll refer to the two of them as his parents or mother/father. He’ll brag about them too because how many other kids can say their dad was an infamous bandit? Or that their parent saved a dying town? That’s right. No one. He’s literally the coolest kid around.
-lmao but if Andy doesn’t get his way with Logan or the builder, he’ll sassily go “whatever, I’ll just ask my other dad.” Before heading to go see Haru
-it never fails to amuse Andy when Logan tries to help his builder in his free time with their commissions only to end up breaking a part they needed because of his brute strength or it just being too tiny in his hands. The boy will be in tears and carve another notch (with builder’s permission) into the side of their work table for amount of times Logan has accidentally destroyed something.
-Andy loves walking Nemo around town to get the pup’s exercise in. He especially loves it when Logan decides to join him and how they could talk about everything and nothing until it’s time to head back.
-and the builder is always there too, waiting for them both with more love and adoration in their eyes than they both think they’re worth.

Qi x Builder headcanons that I promised to write ages ago and am only now getting to.
Qi is, as we know, not the most sentimental of people. Except yes, he is, in his own way. His admission to the builder after The Goat tells you this
The builder is definitely smarter than your average person, and Qi readily admits this. He's glad the builder is someone he can bounce his ideas off of. We already know he's thought about tempting the builder away from their work to become his assistant
Qi DOES have pet names for the builder, they're just a little unconventional. Instead of honey, sweetheart, love, etc he's far more likely to call you the more scientific yet still romantic terms like Inamorata (this is the fem/default spelling. inamorato for male) which simply means "to fall in love" or perhaps Amoret, which is a term often used to leave a relationship more open to interpretation, since he's voiced that it's somewhat experimental for him. Personal opinion he may even call you his microbino (little microbe). It fits him.
Man's can't flirt. He tries, sometimes. tells the builder that their physical build is proportionate to attraction. That the bicarbonate chain of their relationship is alaflactic. Etc. In his own way he's being very romantic, but that doesn't stop the builder from laughing and begging him to stop.
When the builder is tired Qi tries to help them by inventing machines that he think could be helpful. A rocket boosted Pickhammer! (thing the supermutant weapons from fallout 4) a forging stationf that fuels itself!
Despite his best efforts these are often non-usable. He sulks but the builder bring him tea and a kiss on the head and all of a sudden his failures seem less so.
Qi isn't huge on physical affection just because he's not used to it. He'll try anything the builder wants at least once, mind you. For science. He finds he likes holding the builders calloused hands and imagining what kind of work caused what formation.
He prefers kisses on the head to one's on the lips. They're quicker and easier, whereas ones on the lips have a tendency to...distract him from his work.
He'll never admit it to the builder but when he runs into a research stump one of the first things he does is think "what would builder do?"
After The Goat, (before builders return) he finds himself in his laboratory alone and is notably surprised when the tears start to fall. He's not great at emotions and the overwhelming grief he feels is a shock to him, which makes it worse. He ends up on his knees, hyperventilating. Poor man is a mess.
After builders return he plays it cool, as we know, approaches it scientific as ever, but is secretly begining to work on some sort of invention to help him keep an eye on the builder from his lab. Perhaps something they could wear to track their heartbeat, etc.
All in all, Qi is whipped for builder in his own Qi kind of way. He loves them more than he's ever loved anyone, even if he doesn't quite know how to voice it.

Theyre silly to me.
I think they’d be friends if they actually talked. I can see Unsuur regularly bringing rocks to Qi and Qi’s kinda like “well geology wasnt something I particularly enjoyed...” and then talk for like 30 minutes and Unsuur is just like “wow you know so much stuff. (unsuur does not know half of what hes saying but likes learning about rocks nonetheless)” And Qi would give Unsuur like geology book reccomendations or smthn (he knows all the publications.)
I feel like I could see Unsuur taking Qi on a walk around town (because Qi really needs to get out more) and will just point out stupid things like “Over there is where captian naps” and “Heres my 81st favorite rock, it was too big for me to move but it makes the town look nice.” Just mundane things, things that Qi would never really look at or notice at all. And maybe it would eventually veer into Unsuur talking about some of the things he learned from the geology books, some of it being stuff Qi didnt really know himself. And its kind of nice if hes being honest, to not have to know everything for a little bit.
IDK sorry for the innane ramblings I just think theyre silly and should be friends and discuss and what not.

Fang brainrot so real so true.
Fang would really have issues with someone taller than him only because he'd blush like crazy. Like... he'd be so dumbfounded when the new builder is actually taller and prettier than he imagined. It's like meeting your crush in real life. (He'd been crushing on the builder from their gifts, as embarrassing as that is).
He would be like: "Oh. Oh wow. Um. Hi." And his bird would literally out him so fast. But since you're the dense builder whom everyone loves, you don't notice his blush. He would probably make up a lame excuse to go to his bedroom. (And his bird would just be like "lol he likes you, he likes you.") And THAT would send you blushing as well. I mean... Fang blushing? Rare. Super rare. More rare than Andy behaving.
Well and then when you guys first kiss, he's actually really confident, but when he sees your blush, he'd blush himself and have issues speaking EVEN MORE. But he'd literally tell himself "im a man im a man" and he'd kiss you again. He'd kiss you more than you'd expect. He's like... a little thirsty for attention. I feel like he's a very touchy feely person. He probably hugs a lot. (If you like that kind of stuff). He'd be the one to hold your hand. And if you guys get together, he'd want to hold you at night and hug you.
He'd also love when you stroke his hair. He's such a fluffball. He needs cuddles. But he can't admit that to you.
But yes, if you were taller, he'd be so happy. He wouldn't need to bend down anymore to kiss you. You're perfect.
If you were shorter, he'd love it because he could tease you gently. He'd literally make fun of you for being so short, but also kiss your cheeks. (Like, imagine him carrying you around the house because you're too short for the counter and the stove lol) He'd also be able to easily cuddle you.
But I also feel like he would try to make you wear his clothes. Like he'd be so proud to show off that you're his and he's yours.
If you guys ever fight, he'd be very emotional. He'd pout and you'd pout and when you're alone, he'd just burst into tears and then hug you. "I'm sorry." And you'd both apologize. He wouldn't let go of you after that.
I feel like he'd be a really great father. I feel like he'd spoil his children a lot. But he'd also be very protective. He'd do anything for his kids.
And if you had a daughter, he'd be a little overprotective. Like if you named her after his mother Sarnai, he'd be very protective. (And also cry a lot because he feels very emotional). He'd be like: "Hey. No one will take my daughter from me. I will protect her." But if you had a son, he'd be like "no one will take my son away from me!" Like, he's literally the dad that's like "NO ONE WILL TAKE MY KIDS. DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT."
He'd be a very playful dad. Like he'd make silly faces with the kids and make them laugh. He'd tell them stories. He'd also be the dad who would let them get away with everything. He'd be like "well, my kids are perfect, they would never do anything bad. They're just like me."
He'd probably spoil his kids so much like ok in getting off track. Anyway. NSFW time.
●■NSFW■●
Fang is not a dominant man. I feel like he'd be a switch, but mostly a submissive one. Like he'd love when you took control of him and he'd be really good at obeying your orders. He'd love when you were rough with him and he'd blush when you teased him.
He'd also love when you were gentle with him and praised him. He'd be so happy when you said he was good and called him a good boy.
He'd be so happy when you gave him compliments. He'd always blush when you said he was cute or pretty or handsome or gorgeous.
He'd be very flustered when you kissed his neck and his chest and even tweaked a nipple. He'd be a little embarrassed about how much he liked it though. (You'd have to reassure him that it was totally okay).
He'd be really embarrassed if you told him you liked his body. He never thought about someone actually liking him for his looks but when you started to touch him gently, he'd relax and melt. He'd start to relax and enjoy it more.
He'd be very flustered when you told him you were going to sit on him and ride. He'd be so embarrassed. He'd be so red. But he'd be very turned on. He'd be really embarrassed to admit it.
I feel like he'd really love to kiss you. He'd be very gentle and he'd hold you tight. And when you deepen the kiss, he'd be really shy and try to pull away but he'd give in and enjoy it.
He'd really love it when you played with his hair. It's so long and fluffy and omg it's silky and soft.
And when you guys first have sex, he'd be so gentle and loving. He'd make sure you were okay and he'd be so worried he hurt you. He's the one entering you and if you had a clit, he'd be really gentle when fingering you.
He'd be really flustered when you told him he felt good. He wouldn't know what to do with himself. He'd be so embarrassed to tell you that you felt good as well.
And after he comes, he'd be really worried about you. Like "I'm sorry.... I came... so fast." And you'd reassure him that it was okay like it happens especially since he's a virgin.
Yeah idk i think fang is neat.

Wei - MTaS Headcanons
I've seen basically nothing about this guy, so I feel like posting some headcanons about one of my favorite characters in My Time at Sandrock.
Wei has anger issues. (Or, rather, had-- He's gone to seminars and read multiple books about it, as he says when you compliment him on his personality.)
He can be absolutely terrifying if he's upset. (Have you seen what he says if you give him hated gifts? "Are you not afraid someone will put you in your place, going around acting like this?" according to the wiki, holy heck. Dude can be horrifying if you ever do get on his bad side, but he tries his best to make that hard)
He's tried to get away from Yan before. There were lots and lots of incidents with the two of them accidentally moving to the same town and ending up arguing over who moved first, until Wei just sort of... Gave up on trying to escape.
He's got major trust issues. (He mentions his own team was paid off to abandon him in the Periphs, his partner Esmerelda left him because of Yan, etc.)
He liked his dad better. (He mentions how his father tried his best with teaching them, while Yan mentions his mother when sand drawing)
Wei's love of weapons is partially from his time spent in the Periphs, though he enjoyed a nice spar beforehand as well. (He used to win every Showdown at High Noon. He stopped competing after a while because he thought it ruined the fun for others.)
Wei and Yan lived in Portia when they were younger, though most of the Portian residents don't remember them. However, Presley, Higgins probably do, though Higgins was young when he met them and wasn't a fan of either.)
He loves relics, and used to have a nice collection of his own! However, during his stint of being presumed dead, Yan sold all of them.
He has chronic headaches and backaches, though he usually works through them. Fang, Owen, and maybe Mi-an are the only ones he's ever told that to-- mostly because he never thought it was important to mention.
Wei's closest friends in Sandrock are Owen and... yeah, it's just Owen for a long time. Though he appreciates Mi-an and the builder, he's most likely to go to Owen if he needs someone to just talk to.
He doesn't celebrate his birthday. Throughout his life, it was a day of arguing with Yan, so he just. Doesn't care about it being his birthday anymore. It's another day, and if someone celebrates it with him, bully to them! But he's happy to just have a normal day.
He'd like a very normal life already, please, just give him a normal life without Yan ever coming up again.
He loathes it when people call him President, Yan, or anything even vaguely about that.
He doesn't really agree with the Church of the Light (Too interested in relics and the like) but he does understand them.
Feel free to add more if you have any headcanons! I'd love to hear.

Yo, I legit want to hear your data disk theory bc I was kinda thinking the same thing? Except I figured that if they really are magnetic hard disks then they'd be even more fragile than DVDs/CDs since even a stray magnet could screw up all the data? I am but a lowly software person so I don't exactly how storage mediums work all too much lol. Also, if the old world was really DA FUTURE(tm), wouldn't their computer storage be more in SSDs than HDDs? There might be an economic reason to stick with HDDs but if their computing tech was at the level of sentient AIs and stuff they hypothetically would have the faster, more compact storage in those...
Reminds me of the deep dive I did to figure why the hell telegraphs in the My Time world are called telegraphs if they're supposedly wireless (short answer: it's probably primitive radio? i have no idea how the hell transmissions can work at distances up to cross-country tho)
Oh boy, I'm so glad you asked! I've done IT infrastructure repair work for a couple years now, and my last job actually had me working with a lot of storage servers in particular for the latter half of my job, so I have Opinions(tm) on this small detail lol. And those are all really good questions too. And hopefully I don't get too technical trying to answer it, but I make no promises (and it's DEFINITELY going to be long and rambly so bear with me)
So starting with it being The Future(tm), there are pros and cons to going HDD versus SSD versus NVMe today, but did you know that not only is tape storage still in use, but it's actually still considered a modern, practical solution to archival storage with the technology still being upgraded and developed, even right now in 2023? Archival in this case being the sort of data you need to hold onto for 20, 30, 40 years or more without a constant need to have read/write access to that data. The tape servers have a cool robot arm in them and everything to move the tape cassettes around. A lot of this technology isn't actually aging out because it has its niche, it's just being modernized to settle it more in that niche
So with HDDs versus SSDs, they are becoming fairly comparable to each other today, HDD was winning out for a long time because SSD was a lot more expensive to get ahold of at the same storage capacity as HDD. That's great from a regular end-user perspective because you can get that upgrade more practically and reap the benefits of not having to rely on physical moving parts to access your data. Swapping it out on a server level is going to be a much larger and more expensive project, though, without seeing a lot of additional benefit for going that direction. A lot of the benefits that you would see for swapping to SSD on a regular computer have already been accounted for in existing server designs for a while now, in the form of RAID technology (Redundant Array of Independent/Inexpensive Disks; fancy way of saying "get a bunch of drives to take on the work of one drive and then replace any drives that break along the way"; being able to share the data load across multiple drives improves efficiency and then you can also replace broken disks on the fly without having to worry about the integrity of the overall storage system as long as you don't sit on too many dead disks for too long)
Not to say that SSDs won't still overtake HDD eventually, as new servers are installed in datacenters and closets, they're increasingly having SSD as the supported format, but there's not a good enough benefit to rush through fading out HDD at the moment when they're still about comparable to each other and the weaknesses have largely been accounted for. And even then, there are always going to be legacy servers that get passed up for upgrades either because nobody sees a need or it's too important to the overall infrastructure or any number of reasons, at which point they're still almost definitely going to be sticking with HDDs even in The Future
So that's the long-winded justification for why I think it's plausible that there would still be large enough quantities of HDDs kicking around even in the future for them to end up in ruins of that future
As for the justification of how you'd be able to get enough usable data off of them given the notorious fragility of those disks, I chalk it up to a matter of quantity. When I was installing brand-new storage servers for a customer, one drawer could hold up to around a hundred hard drives, and there were often four or five drawers slated for install with one server. If you figure that your average HDD has about three to six platters, multiply that by 100, and then multiply that by the drawers, and then the number of identical hardware setups that are also set up around it, and that number just keeps going up by orders of magnitude. Most of those platters are absolutely going to be shattered or wiped or otherwise damaged in a way that renders them useless, and the percentage that make it out in-tact enough is going to be very small. But if you take a very small percentage of the ridiculously large number of platters you can expect to find in a datacenter (even the smaller ones) is still going to give you the chance of finding enough usable platters that you can pull something off of them. Like, we're talking millions or billions of platters just in one place, if you take .01% or .001% or even .0001% of that kind of number as your chances of finding something in tact you're still looking at a fairly decent pool of workable salvage to sort through*
(*In theory, anyway; in practice, you usually need all the platters that are associated with an HDD to be able to put the data together into something usable given the way data's distributed across them...not that it's impossible to grab information off of a single platter but it would take A LOT of extra work to figure out how to reverse engineer it into working versus having the full set. It could still be possible but that factor drags the already small percentage down even further. But then, I would be surprised if Pathea has given it NEARLY as much thought as this, so after a certain point, there's kinda just the shrugging to say "video game logic" lol...but before reaching that point I'm going to have my fun spending way too much time trying to figure out how it *could* work)
With the quantity argument, as well, you're also way more likely to see that kind of overabundance of HDD than you would DVDs or CDs; DVDs just aren't scalable in the same way, both in terms of the amount of data they can store and the amount of read/write flexibility they have. You're also a lot less likely to find the sort of information on a DVD that you would find in a storage server; DVDs are more useful for executable programs than they are for data storage, and even that purpose is superceded by a usb thumb drive a lot of the time. There wouldn't be nearly as many to account for in an apocalypse situation and that means the statistics are going to hit them much harder
Anyway, yeah, that's my nerdy ass supposition for this headcanon, thanks again for giving me an excuse to ramble on about it and I hope it makes sense lol

So I had this random thought the other day while thinking about the different characters in Sandrock, I have absolutely no proof and no idea why, but suddenly I got this idea that Unsuur, who we know nothing about before he came to Sandrock, what if he actually is from Duvos?
He might have been a Duvos solider who after/before a mission realised that everything he knew was wrong and managed to escape over the border and wandered around till he ended up in Sandrock, joining the Civil Corps to utilise his skills and help make up for things he might have/might not have done in the name of Duvos.
Like I said, I have no reasons to think this, but it's now my headcanon for Unsuur's background XD

Hc: Owen used to have a country drawl and accent, but when he started to travel around and do Peach knows what in those years, he learned to hide it for some reason.
Sometimes when he’s real tired and exhausted, or someone gets him real angry that it breaks his kind disposition, etc- his old accent slips out, the ending of words have a little twang to them and some words are slurred (especially if he’s tired).
Romancing Owen gives the builder more opportunities to hear it in a more calm setting.

Logan and the Builder as Andy’s adoptive parents:
So this ended up being more how the builder and Logan became Andy’s adoptive parents than what they’re like as parents lol.  I’ll try and find an ask game for parents and do that for Logan and the builder, or just send in asks of headcanons you want!
CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR KNIVES OUT, THOSE ARE UNDER THE CUT
Andy is actually what cemented the builder’s belief that Logan wasn’t entirely guilty or completely bad to the bone.  After snooping investigating his house with Elsie and Mi-an, they’d already started to doubt the narrative the town was giving them. Meeting Andy was just confirmation.  You don’t get a kid that sweet and well taken care of by people as evil as Sandrock said Logan and Haru were
When Andy first revealed himself after his gambit as Bronco the Kid, the builder’s immediate thought was, “I can’t believe I’m a parent now.”  Not even knowing how he ended up with Logan and Haru, the builder just knew this kid needed someone in his corner.  (It wasn’t too long ago they were new to Sandrock and a stranger to everyone in town.  They couldn’t imagine going through that as a kid)
When Logan takes the Super Shock Shield and tells Andy he’s out of the gang, the builder knows that Logan is trying to protect him.  Whatever outlaw business he’s up to is too dangerous for a kid, and Sandrock is a more stable nurturing environment than life on the run.  Once again, supporting their view that Logan is not as rotten as the town would assume
Seeing how much it upsets Andy though, the builder doubles down on parenting.  Taking him sandfishing, bringing him gifts, hanging out in general.  Even though we can’t do it in the game, the builder totally brings Andy along on their horse to get ores and collect resources around the less dangerous areas of Sandrock.  Basically showering this kid with love and affection so he doesn’t feel alone or unwanted at all
When Logan and Haru return to Sandrock, the builder has mixed feelings.  It’s great seeing Andy so happy to be back with his original adoptive family, but they’re also gonna miss the kid
Except Andy has BondedTM with the builder during his time in Sandrock and insists on visiting them often.  Logan gets dragged along, as does Haru, but not as often.  It’s clear Andy has imprinted more on Logan out of the two of them
This is because although Haru was always nice and supportive of Andy, they didn’t BondTM the way he and Logan did.  Logan knows what it is to be an orphan in the world, saw that in Andy, and strove to make things better for the kid so he wouldn’t feel the crushing loneliness Logan did after his Pa died
Because of this, the builder and Logan end up spending a lot of time together.  Even without this, they were falling for each other, but their mutual parenting of Andy definitely helped.
The first time Andy gets sick Logan is out of his mind with worry.  He’s completely torn between wanting to make sure Andy is okay so he doesn’t get as sick as Howlett and remembering what happened when Howlett got “treatment” for his illness
Eventually, he just panics and takes Andy to the builder like !!! ?!?!? ??!!!! and the builder talks him down.  They take Andy to Fang’s, get him some medicine, and everything works out fine
Naturally, while Andy is recovering he stays at the builder’s to be closer to Fang, so of course Logan stays there too
This event is what will eventually tip the builder and Logan into a romantic relationship
Up until Andy’s teenage years, the builder is the helicopter smothering parent for sure, and Logan is the fun dad who teaches his kid monster fighting stuff they’re probably too young to know
But it backfires cause as Andy gets older, he wants to go out and use all the monster fighting stuff Logan has taught him and the poor man is backpedaling
As Andy gets older, the builder wants him to be self sufficient, like their parents let them be.  -You don’t up and move to a town in the middle of nowhere if you’re not at least somewhat accustomed to living on your own- this translates into giving him more freedom and responsibilities
Logan is remembering what hell shenanigans he, Owen, and Justice pulled in their teenage years and beginning to Mildly Panic.  However, the builder reminds him that they’ve raised Andy to have a bit more responsibility than Logan did in his childhood

🔨 My builder & Andy headcanon 🚀
Andy would often crash at the builder's workshop, saying he was bored because Haru was always too busy to play with him, working on new products for Arvio or/and study through the books that he had lent from the library so he could prep himself to eventually move to Atara to get education.
And there’s no one anymore who can tutor both him and Jasmine currently. So the poor guy is just bored out of his mind.
At least he gets to check the builder's works, because he's also interested in tinkering but can't really do that anymore (he used to tweak some of Haru's bombs, remember? Well that was out of the question now), and he gets to learn a few things from her, see her cool relics and all.
Eventually Andy would be vocal about wanting to move in the builder's place.
Logan would protest and act like a dad disciplining his child.
The builder would stop him, basically shove him aside, saying she'd love to have Andy stay with her. She was literally hoping for this day to finally come.

Ooh for the five headcanon thing, Logan and Haru getting used to having Andy around?
Oooh yes. Sorry took a bit but here you go!
1. After they fail at trying to find Andy's parents/guardians, Logan and Haru take him back to the base. They obviously had to move stuff around to make room for him and Haru sacrificed his bed for Andy since he likes sleeping on hard surfaces.
2. They already had experience with children being around Jasmine, but having a kid 24/7 was definitely new to them especially with the dangers. Andy knows how to take care of himself but he's still a kid.
3. They quickly become Andy's big brothers/parents. Haru liked to let him help around some of the safer chemistry experiments while Logan taught him how to hunt and take care of the goats. Each of them took turns keeping an eye on Andy while the other was scouting out.
4. When Grace started coming around, she also took a real liking to Andy. She liked to play simple tricks and tell Andy different things about archeology or how spies get information out of people. Andy thought at first everything was boring but after finally listening to what Grace has to say, he really likes her.
5. Both of them were really worried when Andy ran off to Sandrock. Logan and Haru searched practically everywhere and only calmed down when Grace spotted him in town. They were really sad about the decision about Andy living in Sandrock permanently. They both knew it was the best decision but missed having him around a lot.
+1. One time Logan put on Andy on Rambo to go on a ride, he didn't properly keep Rambo on a lead to keep him still so Rambo, like goats do, wandered off and started scaling a wall. Haru and Logan both freaked out. Haru searched for rutabagas in the bags to lure Rambo, Logan chased after them, and Andy was having the time of his life.

headcanon that Fang tells Mitty to be careful and she says she will, but then she winds up not being careful for whatever reason leading to her getting a lecture from the doctor (or bestie, whichever mode he's in at the moment) HHEHEHEHEH
