So I've been really enjoying My Time at Sandrock lately

I am and have always been so super normal about Logan fr I DID NOT pick all the heart dialogue boxes that made me look SUPER PATHETIC AND DESPERATE FOR HIM!!!! I was SUPER RESPECTFUL AND NORMAL TO MY HUSBAND 100% OF THE TIME!!!!!!!

Logan and the Builder as Andy’s adoptive parents:

So this ended up being more how the builder and Logan became Andy’s adoptive parents than what they’re like as parents lol.  I’ll try and find an ask game for parents and do that for Logan and the builder, or just send in asks of headcanons you want!

CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR KNIVES OUT, THOSE ARE UNDER THE CUT

Andy is actually what cemented the builder’s belief that Logan wasn’t entirely guilty or completely bad to the bone.  After snooping investigating his house with Elsie and Mi-an, they’d already started to doubt the narrative the town was giving them. Meeting Andy was just confirmation.  You don’t get a kid that sweet and well taken care of by people as evil as Sandrock said Logan and Haru were

When Andy first revealed himself after his gambit as Bronco the Kid, the builder’s immediate thought was, “I can’t believe I’m a parent now.”  Not even knowing how he ended up with Logan and Haru, the builder just knew this kid needed someone in his corner.  (It wasn’t too long ago they were new to Sandrock and a stranger to everyone in town.  They couldn’t imagine going through that as a kid)

When Logan takes the Super Shock Shield and tells Andy he’s out of the gang, the builder knows that Logan is trying to protect him.  Whatever outlaw business he’s up to is too dangerous for a kid, and Sandrock is a more stable nurturing environment than life on the run.  Once again, supporting their view that Logan is not as rotten as the town would assume

Seeing how much it upsets Andy though, the builder doubles down on parenting.  Taking him sandfishing, bringing him gifts, hanging out in general.  Even though we can’t do it in the game, the builder totally brings Andy along on their horse to get ores and collect resources around the less dangerous areas of Sandrock.  Basically showering this kid with love and affection so he doesn’t feel alone or unwanted at all

When Logan and Haru return to Sandrock, the builder has mixed feelings.  It’s great seeing Andy so happy to be back with his original adoptive family, but they’re also gonna miss the kid

Except Andy has BondedTM with the builder during his time in Sandrock and insists on visiting them often.  Logan gets dragged along, as does Haru, but not as often.  It’s clear Andy has imprinted more on Logan out of the two of them

This is because although Haru was always nice and supportive of Andy, they didn’t BondTM the way he and Logan did.  Logan knows what it is to be an orphan in the world, saw that in Andy, and strove to make things better for the kid so he wouldn’t feel the crushing loneliness Logan did after his Pa died

Because of this, the builder and Logan end up spending a lot of time together.  Even without this, they were falling for each other, but their mutual parenting of Andy definitely helped.

The first time Andy gets sick Logan is out of his mind with worry.  He’s completely torn between wanting to make sure Andy is okay so he doesn’t get as sick as Howlett and remembering what happened when Howlett got “treatment” for his illness

Eventually, he just panics and takes Andy to the builder like !!! ?!?!? ??!!!! and the builder talks him down.  They take Andy to Fang’s, get him some medicine, and everything works out fine

Naturally, while Andy is recovering he stays at the builder’s to be closer to Fang, so of course Logan stays there too

This event is what will eventually tip the builder and Logan into a romantic relationship

Up until Andy’s teenage years, the builder is the helicopter smothering parent for sure, and Logan is the fun dad who teaches his kid monster fighting stuff they’re probably too young to know

But it backfires cause as Andy gets older, he wants to go out and use all the monster fighting stuff Logan has taught him and the poor man is backpedaling

As Andy gets older, the builder wants him to be self sufficient, like their parents let them be.  -You don’t up and move to a town in the middle of nowhere if you’re not at least somewhat accustomed to living on your own- this translates into giving him more freedom and responsibilities

 Logan is remembering what hell shenanigans he, Owen, and Justice pulled in their teenage years and beginning to Mildly Panic.  However, the builder reminds him that they’ve raised Andy to have a bit more responsibility than Logan did in his childhood

Logan: Andy, ‘member when ya said you weren’t gonna interfere with my love life?

Andy: *pushing Logan towards the Builder*

Andy: Nope, that doesn’t sound like me at all.

I didn't get to play the Act 3 update so this is how I'm coping until Nov 2nd :^) commissioned one of my favorite artists @ caacatte (ko-fi/etsy)!! They have such a wonderful style and are amazing to work with, I highly recommend! 🫶🏻

I totally have this saved as "THE kiss as a gif." But that's how it feels. Like years of in game time led up to this moment. And she tried with Owen but nothing ever felt like this. Like Logan.

I didn't even realize this side quest was a romance one and then I was being kissed and I was like "wait I don't need the heart knot I got, he actually did the work." Score.

They're adorable together. There was a sweet moment after Andy's cold where Logan said he just wanted to get away after Andy got better and I just. Love them. It is so sastifying.

To be here after everything. (I need to listen to that one soundtrack Maisie Peters did with them in mind I feel like it screams them.)

A new chapter has appeared!!!! im still in a funky mental state (certainly doing better than i was last month at least bruh) but im slowly getting back into the swing of things! im getting experimental with my process again and i kind of let my biases rule me on this one a tad oops. (that said, your personal biases making it into your writing is a little inevitable) this chapter turned out a bit angstier than i drafted it LOL but i can assure you the next one will be a fluffy silly one! for sure!

A commission for @wren--bee , of the Builder Min and Logan from My time at Sandrock. I think this turned out to be very lovely and sweet scene :3 I really need to finish my MtaS run at some point xd There is still one slot left ^^ Depending on next month, I might open up some more slots in May :) Thank you for all the support and love!

Logan romance be like

These two looks familiar don’t they ?

Herena is the first biological daughter of Sandara and Logan and Yohan they’re youngest ✨️(didn't draw him yet but Andy is also part of the family he’s their first son after all ;)

Their names carry special meanings : The "H" in Herena pays tribute to Logan's father while the "Y" in Yohan honors Sandara’s mother Yisul.

They are still big work in progress but it was fun to try blending Sandara and Logan features together ~

(Note that the percentages relate to both physique and personality)

Anyway can’t wait to have them in game I will probably doodle them like crazy when the game will be fully release~

Leaving the Nest

Logan and Serena see Andy off on his first monster hunt without them.  It's an emotional parting.

@Pathea, let me adopt Andy if I marry Logan, I'm begging you.

"Ya sure ya got everything? Y'have enough water, plenty of bullets? I'm sure ma's got some extra ones over by the-"

"Logan!" Serena cut him off.

Logan jumped before looking over sheepishly.  Shaking her head fondly, Serena walked over to her boys,

"I swear, I leave you alone for all of two minutes and you turn into a mother hen." Andy snorted, standing next to Rambo the Second, "Please, Cluck, Doodle, and Doo hover less."

Logan threw up his hands, "Excuse me for wanting to make sure my son is fully prepared for his first ever monster hunt without us."

Although his tone was light and teasing, Serena could hear the undercurrent of genuine fear in her husband's voice.  After handing the blanket over to Andy, she took Logan's hand in her own and squeezed.  He squeezed back, holding on for dear life. Andy got the blanket tucked away, then turned to his dad,

"Don't worry Pa, it'll be fine.  'Sides, I'm not going out all on my own, Elsie'll be there too."

"I know," Logan sighed. "Just...be careful? A'right?"

"I'll be careful, promise," Andy replied. Serena said,

"You'd better get going. I know you're supposed to meet Elsie soon." She took her hand back from Logan to hug Andy. He'd sprouted up recently, and was finally taller than her. "I love you kiddo."

Andy hugged her tight, "Love you too, Ma."

He turned to Logan, who pulled him into a crushing hug.

"I love you kid,"he mumbled into Andy's shoulder.

"I know, Pa.  Love you too."

Having said his goodbyes, Andy swung up onto Rambo the Second before waving over his shoulder and taking off for the ranch. Serena heard a sniff at her side.

When she turned to look at Logan, tears were trailing down his cheeks.

"Oh honey," she whispered, moving close to hold him.  Logan buried his face in the crook of her neck, and clung on tightly.

"I know he's capable and been out on hunts before," he mumbled, "but so had my Pa."

Even after close to a decade of marriage, Serena still learned new things about Logan that shattered her heart into pieces. Of course he'd be seeing the parallels between their son's first monster hunt without him and his father's last monster hunt, that was also without him.  Her mind went back to the first time Andy got sick shortly after the Duvos affair, and how strongly Logan reacted then.

"He's not alone though," she soothed, "Elsie's going with him -she's more than capable- and they're taking Daffodil too."

Logan nodded, "Yeah, you're right," he heaved a sigh and lifted his head.   Serena raised a hand to wipe the tears from under his eyes.  She was rewarded with a watery smile that tugged at her heart strings, "I dunno how ya put up with me sometimes."

Serena lifted herself up onto tiptoes and kissed his cheek, "Cause I love you."

Even after so long of being together and hearing it countless times, Logan still occasionally get the same dopey smile he'd given her the first time she said 'I love you.'  Serena thought it was the most precious thing in the world. Logan pressed a kiss to her forehead, then rested his against hers,

"I love you too, darlin'."

The moment was broken by the impatient lowing of their yakmels.  Serena sighed,

"Work calls."

Logan pulled her in for one last kiss that made Serena's head spin, before letting go and getting started on the morning chores.
