it's so sweet how wade softly asked logan if he considered staying in touch, and as soon as logan got scared by the question, wade got up on logan's level, held himself up and yelled after him. he made himself more clear, hey i want you around. just lets hang out

after his family helped him out in various ways such as getting him a place to live, a ride, just helping him out and being there for him after his hardships, that's the same way wade is able to stand up after owning who he is, owning his trauma and letting go of his old self and embracing who he is.

by doing that and finally 'being there' as he said previously that he was to vanessa. by being present and letting go of what could have been who he could have been, only then is he able to help his family and his NEW family, who is logan.

would the old, self absorbed, traumatized, living in his head wade be able to help out another incredibly traumatized person like logan? his friendship helped wade save himself and his family. logan was truly a hero! and now him and his family can help save logan.

i'd say this is the last time i'll ever mention the jump in save the cat.. but i think we'd both know i was lying.

cause i know the first time i ranted on it my focus was on how heart-wrenching it is to think adora jumped without any idea or awareness quite yet of the fact that transforming without the sword was not only possible - but would actually conjure her true she-ra form, one far more seemingly invincible, able to innately wield her magic and abilities, displaying prowess and powers she had never before reached after all her training with light hope.

and how that meant she jumped just cause she couldn't stand the thought of catra dying down there alone, and even though it meant she might end up dying down there with her, one way or another, at least catra wouldn't have to face the end on her own.

but then i was making an amv using these scenes for literally prob like the 30th time lol annnd then the thought hit me - she had to have known there was a good chance catra wouldn't have survived the fall at all. and with the bottom cloaked in shadows, there was no way for her to know how far she, adora, would fall herself if she were to jump. so her own survival of even just the impact without her she-ra form was no guarantee, either.

but she still goes after her. she takes that risk. cause she can't just leave catra in the dark.

every now and again i just have to reflect on how fucking traumatic catra’s chipping process must’ve been. like this girl didn’t need ANY more trauma in general, but especially not any more trauma relating to losing control of herself. she’s already had so much taken from her, and she already felt so alone and unloved. she was so sure that adora wouldn’t come back for her, that she would die there all alone, just hoping that her sacrifice meant something to adora :(((

not to mention that horde prime electrocuted her in that baptismal pool, the same punishment that shadow weaver tortured catra with all of her life.

I'm finally getting around to reading Save the Cat!

I think I thought that I had read it for some reason, but reading it now, it's clear to me that I just manufactured some memories of having read it, maybe because it was sitting on my desk for at least a year.

He starts, in the intro, saying that Hollywood has essentially forgotten how to write good stories and of course Lara Croft 2 was a flop, someone should have spent $4 to sit down with some paper and the fundamentals of storytelling before spending $2.5 million dollars on a new latex bodysuit for Angelina Jolie.

So I like him already, is what I'm saying.

Currently thinking about the scene in Don't Go when Catra asks Adora "Why did you come back for me" and Adora mentally just bluescreens and finally says "Because....because you're Catra" like girly was just so, SO blind to her own feelings at that point ;_;

I mean even the scene (in the show) where they decide to rescue Catra, Adora can't bring herself to say it, and Glimmer has to say it for her

I think ‘Save The Cat’ might be my absolute favourite episode of ‘She-Ra and the Princesses of Power’ so far.

That was just done so well and I’m so damn impressed.

I’m never one for the hero x damsel in distress dynamic if you’ve read any of my Xena and Gabrielle meta. But… I think everyone needs to be rescued now and then no matter how strong, powerful or even villainous they are.

When it’s written and portrayed well, that dynamic can actually be something that’s quite profound to behold.

And this was. Good god this was incredibly well-written.

ALRIGHT EVERYONE I have just watched “Save the Cat” and I think I am in shock. I cannot process this. THE WAY ADORA WAS HOLDING HER?!?!!!! HOT NEW SHERA!!!!! the way Bow and Glimmer looked at each other when Adora said “you’re not done yet,” to Catra!!!!!!!!!! They didn’t realize until that moment that they were LITERALLY IN LOVE THIS WHOLE TIME!!!! AAAAAAH! Like I’m dying, I’m ill, I’m shaking!!!!
