it's so sweet how wade softly asked logan if he considered staying in touch, and as soon as logan got scared by the question, wade got up on logan's level, held himself up and yelled after him. he made himself more clear, hey i want you around. just lets hang out

after his family helped him out in various ways such as getting him a place to live, a ride, just helping him out and being there for him after his hardships, that's the same way wade is able to stand up after owning who he is, owning his trauma and letting go of his old self and embracing who he is.

by doing that and finally 'being there' as he said previously that he was to vanessa. by being present and letting go of what could have been who he could have been, only then is he able to help his family and his NEW family, who is logan.

would the old, self absorbed, traumatized, living in his head wade be able to help out another incredibly traumatized person like logan? his friendship helped wade save himself and his family. logan was truly a hero! and now him and his family can help save logan.

i know adora wasn't just appalled & angry here about the clear fact that catra had been mind-controlled, but also at immediately noticing how her hair had been cut so short against her will.

she actually says in this episode, "come on, catra! you've never listened to anyone in your life; are you really going to start now?" which is an acknowledgement of her awareness that catra has always been free-spirited and refused to be confined by anything she doesn't want to do or hear.

the more subtle aspect, though, is adora knowing that she's never had short hair at any point in time because the wild mane gave her a sense of security in her power and ability to protect herself. she's so familiar with everything possible about her childhood best friend that she deeply & intimately understands this was actually another additional traumatizing event done by prime with twice the punch.

the top right frame is adora's recognition that even without the chip, catra would still appear as an entirely different person, which is not a good thing at all when she had believed her worth and value was based off of how much she could intimidate others and keep her position within the horde.

everyone ─ including nate stevenson with his s4 art ─ always compares adora's broken sword to catra's face mask as accessories that they lose in s5 (or just generally as items for fan-made merch). considering the mask is so strongly connected to the hairstyle, i do think it's also a more literal symbolism opportunity of what gave them their identities and thus drove them apart, which is something i'd like to point out since these posts are a more figurative & spiritual analysis. in my opinion, it's really not that far off from accuracy to say that the mask is equally as important as the sword overall when it comes to the show itself revolving around the relationship of catradora more so than the surface-level plot.

BRO I haven't been able to stop quoting "Disappointing. Some creatures are destined only for destruction," since I first heard it in 2020. There's literally no context in which it makes sense to say.

Is “Save the Cat” ACTUALLY good?

Look, I know, everybody recommends it. The writing craft has rules and structures that work for a reason.

That being said, everybody recommending it makes me not want to pick it up. Why would I want to follow the exact same beat pattern as everybody else? I feel like this is why some books lose unique feelings in terms of structure and set up.

Logically, I don’t recognize that issue as much as a reader. As a writer, my brain just can’t get past the hurdle.

I feel like personal, specific opinions and advice will help me to either get over the feeling (or feel justified, depending on the response).

Any and all responses would be lovely! Tell me if it’s amazing, if I’m thinking of it too literally, or if it’s not something you enjoy at all.

i just really gotta tell someone about how chipped!Catra offering Adora to stay with her and Prime with that lascivious touch is all the previous times Catra tried to ultimatum Adora to stay even though everything else is terrible, except this time it's explicit that it's not Catra choosing to make the ultimatum, but her conditioning. And I think that's neat.
