Lost and Grounded Running with Sceptres IPL (Picked up at Whole Foods - Kensington in London). A 3 of 4. While this is quite clearly a lager from the nose after it warms slightly, the body thickness and hop profile definitely make it harder to distinguish from a more standard IPA than you might think. Primarily pine and some tropical fruit in the nose, and a nice bit of grain sweetness to balance.

Esther's Appeal for the Jews
1 On that day did king Ahasuerus give the house of Haman the Jews' oppressor to Esther the queen. And Mordecai came before the king; for Esther had told what he was to her. 2 And the king took off his ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it to Mordecai. And Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman.
3 And Esther spoke yet again before the king, and fell down at his feet, and besought him with tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite, and his device which he had devised against the Jews. 4 And the king held out the golden sceptre toward Esther. And Esther arose and stood before the king, 5 and said, If it please the king and if I have found grace before him, and the thing seem right to the king, and I be pleasing in his sight, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews that are in all the king's provinces. 6 For how shall I endure to see the evil that shall befall my people? and how shall I endure to see the destruction of my kindred?
7 And king Ahasuerus said to queen Esther and to Mordecai the Jew, Behold, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and him they have hanged upon the gallows, because he stretched forth his hand against the Jews.
8 Write ye then for the Jews as seems good to you, in the king's name, and seal it with the king's ring. For a writing that is written in the king's name, and sealed with the king's ring, cannot be reversed.
9 Then were the king's scribes called at that time, in the third month, that is, the month Sivan, on the three and twentieth day thereof; and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded, to the Jews, and to the satraps, and the governors, and the princes of the provinces which are from India even to Ethiopia, a hundred and twenty-seven provinces, to every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people according to their language, and to the Jews according to their writing and according to their language. 10 And he wrote in the name of king Ahasuerus, and sealed it with the king's ring, and sent letters by couriers on horseback riding on coursers, horses of blood reared in the breeding studs: 11 stating that the king granted the Jews that were in every city to gather themselves together, and to stand for their life, to destroy, to slay, and to cause to perish, all the power of the people and province that might assault them, their little ones and women, and to take the spoil of them for a prey, 12 upon one day in all the provinces of king Ahasuerus, upon the thirteenth of the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar. 13 That the decree might be given in every province, a copy of the writing was published to all the peoples, and that the Jews should be ready against that day to avenge themselves on their enemies. 14 The couriers mounted on coursers and horses of blood went out, being hastened and pressed on by the king's commandment. And the decree was given at Shushan the fortress.
15 And Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, and with a great crown of gold, and with a mantle of byssus and purple; and the city of Shushan shouted and was glad. 16 The Jews had light, and joy, and gladness, and honour. 17 And in every province, and in every city, wherever the king's commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many among the peoples of the land became Jews; for the fear of the Jews had fallen upon them. — Esther 8 | Literal Emphasis Translation (LET) The Literal Emphasis Bible is in the public domain. Mesmerizing detail of a sceptre crystal of amethyst quartz from the Palani Hills area of Karur, South India. In addition to the typical purple areas of amethyst quartz, there are areas with interesting brown coloration orange due to the presence of eye micro crystals of an unknown mineral phase. Bacillary crystals included in larger sizes can be attributed to goethite. There are also small tabular hematite crystals. It's a real shame that the crystals included, many of which leaked intact from the faces of the quartz, have all been trunged, probably in the extraction and detachment phase from the matrix. 9mm FOV. The Coronation of King Charles III was a momentous occasion!
In ancient times, Kings of India were also crowned with great pomp and ceremony. An interesting ritual that took place at the time. The King, with his crown and sword, would announce, '"Adandyosmi! Adandyosmi! Adandyosmi!" - I am the LAW! No one rules me and I am beyond all punishment.
At that time, the Raj Guru would tap the King on his head 3 times with his Dharma Danda and say, "Dharma dandosi. Dharma dandosi. Dharma dandosi." Rule by Dharma. Dharma is beyond you and Dharma will PUNISH you if you transgress it."
King Charles the III did the same. Upon entering the inner sanctum of the Westminster Abbey, he said, "I have not come to be served, but to serve." He made his promises to rule people of ALL faiths while placing his hand on a new Bible made for the occasion.
Like the conclaves of yore, gathering sages, kings, leaders and commoners, today's ceremony saw religious leaders, heads of states, un-common commoners who distinguished themselves in some way, witnessed and took part in the coronation ceremony.
Just as Garuda guards the Amrit, an eagle-shaped bottle holds the oil that anoints the British King and gives him the authority to rule. Sword of state, stirrups (to represent cavalry and horses), bracelets, royal ring, royal glove (gauntlet), orb, sceptre and the rod of Equity and Mercy were given to King Charles III.  He was clothed in robes of gold brocade, designed with the flowers of the 3 nations - rose, thistle and shamrock.
Indian kings would have also touched royal and ‘auspicious’ items such as the sword (and other weapons), gems and precious metals (like the ring and bracelets), auspicious animals (horses, elephants and cows), grains, fruits & flowers and been blessed by religious and family elders.
On the 6th May, solemn oaths of allegiance were given and taken.  Blessings from non-christian religious leaders were given.  Symbolism, pageant, pomp, ceremony and circumstance of the occasion was touching.
King Charles had heads of all major religions, Dharmic and Abrahamic, witness and bless his coronation. This was by no means common at all coronations of all kings - in the UK or abroad. It reflects well on the open, inclusive and liberal mindset of the new King.

Modi and co using Sanatana ploy to divert attention; will face cases legally, says Udhayanidhi
He also launched a strident attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he was "globe-trotting", afraid of facing questions over the Manipur violence.
Tumblr media
CHENNAI: Under intense attack from the BJP over his alleged anti-Sanatana Dharma remarks, DMK leader and Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on Thursday accused the saffron party leaders of “twisting” his statements and vowed to face all cases in this connection legally.
He also launched a strident attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he was “globe-trotting”, afraid of facing questions over the Manipur violence.
“For the last 9 years, all your (BJP) promises are empty promises. What have you exactly done for our welfare is a question currently being raised in unison by the entire country against an unarmed, fascist BJP government. It is in this background that the BJP leaders have twisted my speech at the TNPWAA conference as ‘inciting genocide’. They consider it a weapon to protect themselves,” he said.
What is surprising is that those like Union Minister Amit Shah and Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states were demanding action against him based on “fake news,” Udhayanidhi said.
“In all fairness, I should be the one filing criminal cases and other court cases against them for spreading slander while holding respectable positions. But I am aware that this is their mode of survival. They don’t know how else to survive, so I decided not to do that,” he said.
He was one of the political heirs of Dravidian stalwart, the late CN Annadurai, the founder of the DMK.
“Everyone knows that we are not enemies of any religion.”
“I would like to quote Anna’s comment on religions which remains relevant even today. If religion leads people towards equality and teaches them fraternity, then I too am a spiritualist. If a religion divides people in the name of castes, if it teaches them untouchability and slavery, I would be the first person to oppose religion,” he said quoting Annadurai.
He said DMK respects all religions that teach all lives are born equal.
“But without an iota of understanding about any of these, Thiru Modi and Co are solely dependent on such slanders to face the Parliamentary elections. On the one hand, I can only feel sorry for them. For the last 9 years, Modi has been doing nothing. Occasionally he demonetises money, builds walls to hide huts, builds new Parliamentary building, erects a Sengol (sceptre) there, plays around by changing the name of the country, standing at the border and making the white flag work,” he lashed out.
Has there been any progressive scheme from the Union government in the last nine years like the DMK’s “Pudhumai Penn” or the Chief Minister’s breakfast scheme or the Kalaignar’s women’s rights scheme, he asked. “Have they built the AIIMS in Madurai? Did they take forward any knowledge movement like the Kalaignar Centenary Library?”
“Afraid of having to face questions about Manipur in India, he is globe-trotting along with his friend Adani. The fact is, the ignorance of the people is the capital of their theatrical politics,” he claimed.
“Thiru Modi and co are using the Sanatana ploy to divert the attention from the facts including the killing of more than 250 people in the riots incited in Manipur and the Rs 7. 5 lakh crore corruption,” he charged.
There was a lot of work for the party workers, including preparing for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, he said and asked them to focus on that. “I would like to inform that I will face the cases filed against me legally with the guidance of our party president (TN CM MK Stalin) and on the advice of our party high command,” he added.

"Jayalalithaa's Saree Was Pulled": N Sitharaman To DMK On Women's Safety
Nirmala Sitharaman told protesting DMK members, "You are talking about Kaurava Sabha, you are talking about Droupadi, has DMK forgotten Jayalalithaa? Unbelievable."
Tumblr media
Hitting back at the Opposition’s attacks over the violence against women in Manipur, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today invoked Tamil Nadu’s former Chief Minister and AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa.
Countering DMK leader Kanimozhi’s remarks on crimes against women in India, she said, “Women suffering anywhere, be it Manipur or Rajasthan or Delhi, we have to take it seriously, but there should be no politics over it.”
She then recounted the March 25, 1989 incident when Ms Jayalalithaa’s saree was pulled in Tamil Nadu assembly. “She was a leader of the opposition. DMK members heckled, laughed at her. Jayalalitha took an oath that she will return to the assembly only after becoming the chief minister. And two years later, she did return as the chief minister,” she said.
Addressing the protesting DMK members, she said, “You are talking about Kaurava Sabha, you are talking about Droupadi, has DMK forgotten Jayalalithaa? Unbelievable.”
The Finance Minister was addressing Lok Sabha during the debate on the no-confidence motion against the Narendra Modi government.
Responding to another barb by Ms Kanimozhi, in which the DMK MP had accused the centre of trying to impose Hindi, the Finance Minister said the Prime Minister is implementing the spirit of Silapathigaram in its spirit.
Hitting out at the Congress, she said “sengol” — a sceptre installed in the new parliament as a symbol of justice — “was forgotten and kept in a museum”. “Isn’t that an insult to Tamils,” she asked.
The sceptre had been presented to India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru by Thiruvavaduthurai Adheenam in Tamil Nadu, one of the oldest Shaivite mutts in the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a grand ceremony marked by traditional rituals and the installation of the sceptre "Sengol," dedicated the new Parliament House to the nation. In his usual style, he referred to India's rich culture and heritage to instill a strong sense of nationalism. Modi also highlighted the accomplishments of his government over the past nine years and set the year 2047 as the deadline for India to become a developed country. The Prime Minister emphasized that the new Parliament Building would strengthen the nation's belief in its success and serve as an inspiration towards achieving a developed India, or "Viksit Bharat." Addressing a significant gathering that primarily consisted of ruling party MPs, ministers, top officials, and other distinguished individuals, Modi described his government's nine years as a period of reconstruction and welfare for the poor, known as "Gareeb Kalyan." However, the event was marred by the absence of 20 opposition parties, led by the Congress, who chose to boycott the ceremony. The opposition parties issued a joint statement condemning PM Modi's decision to inaugurate the new Parliament building while sidelining President Droupadi Murmu. They viewed it as a grave insult and a direct assault on democracy, demanding an appropriate response. Unfazed by the opposition's actions, PM Modi appeared to be making a strong appeal for public support as he aimed for a third consecutive term next year. Among the attendees from non-BJP parties were YSR Congress Chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, JD(S) leader and former PM HD Deve Gowda, and Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal. During his speech, PM Modi expressed his satisfaction with the construction of four crore houses for the poor. He also highlighted the achievements of building eleven crore toilets, four lakh kilometers of roads to connect villages, over 50,000 Amrit Sarovars (sacred pools), and 30,000 new Panchayat Bhawans (village council buildings). The Prime Minister emphasized that the common goal throughout this journey, from Panchayat Bhawans to Parliament, has been the development of the nation and its people. Regarding the new Parliament building, Modi remarked on its incorporation of heritage, architecture, art, skill, culture, and constitutional principles. He noted that the interiors of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were themed after the national bird, peacock, and national flower, lotus, respectively. He also mentioned that the Parliament premises featured the national tree, Banyan, and that materials from different parts of the country, such as granite from Rajasthan, timber from Maharashtra, and carpets by artisans from Bhadhoi, were used in the construction. The foundation stone for the new Parliament House was laid by PM Modi in December 2020. Despite disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the triangular-shaped building was completed in record time. The government stated in 2021 that the estimated cost of the new Parliament Building was Rs 971 crore, surpassing the original estimate of Rs 862 crore. Tata Projects Ltd (TPL) constructed the building after winning the bid over its closest rival, L&T. The old Parliament House, designed by Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker during the colonial era, was inaugurated on January 18, 1927. It remains an imposing British-era building, characterized by its majesty and architectural splendor. PM Modi described the new building as an example of the coexistence of ancient and modern elements. He highlighted the long-standing discussions about the need for a new Parliament and stressed that it was a timely development. To commemorate this historic occasion, the PM received a 5-feet long golden sceptre called "Sengol" from priests in

Tumblr media
As Narendra Modi prepared to inaugurate India’s controversial new Parliament building on Sunday, India’s cartoonists got busy pointing out the absurdities of the situation. To some, the decision to omit President Droupadi Murmu, the constitutional head of state, from the ceremony was a major lapse. #NewParliament #Inauguration pic.twitter.com/1TDE2UJnyP — Nala Ponnappa (@PonnappaCartoon) May 25, 2023 #MyparliamentMyPride pic.twitter.com/r02R4cLqt0 — sajithkumar (@sajithkumar) May 27, 2023 The absence of the president from this significant national event has prompted many Opposition parities to boycott the Sunday’s ceremony. pic.twitter.com/7FnHvQbHSw — E P Unny (@unnycartoonist) May 25, 2023 Not everyone has been impressed by the Opposition’s protest. #NewParliamentInaugration #NewParliamentBuilding Artwork by: @NeelabhToons pic.twitter.com/sTeLL8J6CT — News18 (@CNNnews18) May 26, 2023 #ParliamentBuilding @ETPolitics @EconomicTimes pic.twitter.com/fPNDP43c5V — R Prasad (@rprasad66) May 25, 2023 What has drawn even greater mirth is the Bharatiya Janata Party’s decision to make the installation of a sengol or sceptre a key part of the inauguration ceremony. The party has claimed, with dubious historical sources to back up its contentions, that the sengol had been presented to the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru by British Viceroy Louis Mountbatten as a symbol of the transfer to power in 1947. It has been in a museum in Prayagraj since then. Satish Acharya pointed out that this may just be a case of “WhatsApp history”.
