Sean waited at the designated spot, tapping his foot impatiently against the pavement. He wore a pair of dark wash jeans and a black V-neck tee, trying his best to look presentable for this unexpected date. Your POV: i adjust my hair then looking at myself one last time than go downstairs and out the door, HIS POV: As the girl approached, he stood up straighter, offering her a genuine smile “Hi there. You look amazing“. He leaned in closer, inhaling her sweet scent “and you look handsome as ever also can go to the amusement park?“

"An amusement park? Really?" He chuckled, clearly amused by her choice. "Alright, let's do it," he agreed, offering his arm to her in a gentlemanly manner. “awh arent you such a gentleman“ i say "I try," he shrugged modestly, leading her out to his car and opening the passenger door for her. "You're not afraid of heights, are you?" he asked “I am but i think i can work through it you?“ i say getting into the car

"Me? No, I love roller coasters!" He said with a grin as he pulled out onto the road, heading towards the amusement park. "I've been itching to ride the new one they just opened." “Oh my gosh let go on that first!“ i say "Absolutely!" He assured her, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "But remember, I'm here to make sure you don't scream too loudly," he added, winking at her playfully. “Yea yea whatever” the rest of the ride there was full of laughter, singing, and more Here we are!" Sean announced, pulling into the parking lot of the amusement park. "Ready to have some fun?" He asked “whhhooo I’m scared” trying to shake off my nerves "Scared? Or excited?" He teased, stepping out of the car and walking around to her side. "Because trust me, once we get on that roller coaster, you'll be feeling both." He says smirking, I laugh “let’s see” I shrug "You got it!" Sean said, holding his hand out to her as they strolled towards the ticket booths. But as they drew closer, he couldn't help but notice the way her hand trembled slightly in his. It was adorable. “ok let’s go!” She says after there done buying tickets Alright, let's do this!" Sean agreed, leading her towards the roller coaster. They went on a Monday afternoon, so it was mostly deserted so the line wasn’t too long, so as they climbed into the car, he couldn't help but glance over at her, taking in her nervous smile and trembling hands. It made his heart race. “can you hold my hand?” I asked him

Of course," he said, interlacing his fingers with hers. "Ready?" he asked, as he gave the safety bar a reassuring squeeze “yep” I squeeze my eyes shut, The ride was exhilarating—twists, turns, loops, and drops that sent their stomachs plummeting. Throughout it all, Sean kept a firm grip on her hand, making sure she knew he was there for her. “Oh my gosh that was so fun and scary!” I say "Told you!" Sean exclaimed as they disembarked from the ride. His heart was still racing from the adrenaline rush, and he found himself grinning from ear to ear. “what do you want to go on next?” I ask him

"Well," Sean said, considering the options. "How about we try that haunted house over there? I've heard it's pretty scary—and fun!" He winked at her, his mischievous side coming back to life.

“ok but I’m not a big fan of horror” I say truly "Ah, come on," Sean urged her. "You'll be fine. I'll protect you, I promise." He gave her his best reassuring smile, trying to hide a secret thrill that he might be able to scare her just a little “ok I trust you” I smile

Great!" Sean said, leading her over to the entrance of the haunted house. As they walked inside, he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement build within him. This was going to be fun. Suddenly, Sean grabbed her from behind and pressed his body against hers. His cold breath tickled her ear as he whispered, "Boo!" “Ah!, Omg Sean don’t scare me like that i almost shit my pants” I say scolding him “Sorry, sweetheart," Sean chuckled, "just having a little fun. but Alright, let's keep going," Sean agreed, his heart racing with excitement. He loved seeing the fear in her eyes, knowing that he was the one causing it. As they continued through the haunted house, he couldn't help but plan his next prank, eager to see her reaction.

The haunted house was in the end really fun you screaming a lot and falling to the ground hold Sean and him laughing at you and also getting scared himself

*After the haunted house (cause im lazy)*

“Im so glad thats over“ i take deep breaths, Sean still laughing at me says “Oh my gosh that was to funny i didnt even think i got scared i was to busy laughing“ “whatever Sean“ i grab hos hand walking with him “let’s go on the Ferris wheel“ i look at it standing tall and mighty in the distance "Yeah?" Sean raised an eyebrow at her suggestion. “Yes!“ i say excitedly, With a smirk, Sean let her go, stepping back but keeping an eye on her. "Follow me," he said, taking the lead to the Ferris wheel. you werent happy when you went there and the line was kinda long for a Monday afternoon but keeping my patience i wait and wait in line then a started to get annoyed “oh my god can this line get any faster“ i say "Patience, sweetheart," Sean chuckled, his hand finding hers again. "We're not in any hurry." He leaned closer, his breath tickling her ear. "Besides, I kind of like watching you squirm." He says I smiling looking away blushing at his comment then I look away and “it’s our turn!” I say “That's what I like to hear," Sean grinned, leading her up to the ride. He helped her into the seat, then climbed in next to her, their bodies close but not touching. "Hold on tight," he warned with a wink. “I will” I smile The Ferris wheel began to move, and as they rose higher and higher into the air, Sean couldn't resist any longer. He snaked an arm around her waist, pulling her closer to him “the view is beautiful.. look at the sunset..” I say "Beautiful, isn't it?" Sean whispered, his breath tickling her ear. "Just like you are." He says looking into your eyes “I love you so much Sean ..” Love you too, sweetheart," Sean murmured against her lips before pressing his mouth firmly to hers. Later getting off the ride,

“let’s get some food?” I ask “Sure, let's get some food," Sean agreed, feeling a bit more at ease. He followed you towards the food stalls, trying to focus on the delicious smells wafting through the air “what do you want to get” I ask looking at him "Uh, I'm not really picky," Sean said with a shrug. "Whatever you're in the mood for is fine with me." He stood quietly beside you as you perused the various food options, his stomach rumbling slightly in anticipation. “how do you feel about hamburger and fries?” I ask "I love hamburgers and fries," Sean exclaimed, suddenly feeling quite hungry. He smiled at you, grateful for the suggestion. "Sounds perfect” he smiles “ok let’s get some” Alright, lead the way," Sean chuckled softly, falling into step behind you once more. As you navigated through the crowd towards the food stall, he couldn't help but notice how much more relaxed you seemed “hi can I get two burgers and fries and Oo can I get a milkshake with that?” Sure, you got it," the vendor replied with a smile. As they waited for their orders to be prepared, Sean leaned against the counter beside you, feeling somewhat at ease in your presence

“Order 75!” the vendor says “ok let’s get our food!” I say happily "Yeah, let's do that," Sean agreed with a smile, grateful for the distraction from all the tension , his nose taking in the delicious aromas wafting through the air. “Thank you” I thank the vendor “You're welcome," he replied, smiling at the vendor as you took your tray of food. You led Sean over to a table and they sat down, still not quite sure what to say to each other. “here’s your food” I say Thanks," Sean murmured, picking up his burger and taking a bite. As he chewed, he couldn't help but steal glances at you, trying to read your thoughts. "Oh, uh," Sean coughed, caught off guard by your directness. "Yeah, well... I was just enjoying the food," he lied, trying to play it cool. “Mhm” I say "So, how's everything been with you?" he asked, attempting to steer the conversation towards safer waters. He took another bite of his burger, hoping his nerves wouldn't show too much. “I’ve been ok I guess” I shrug "That's good to hear," Sean replied, his voice almost too soft for you to hear. He continued to chew, the taste of the burger filling his mouth. “how about you?”

"Well, I've been dealing with some stuff," Sean admitted reluctantly. He took another bite of his burger and swallowed before continuing. "But other than that, life's been treating me pretty well." he says

“what happened?” I asked concerned "Just some drama at school," Sean shrugged nonchalantly. "You know how it is." He finished off his burger and took a sip of his drink, feeling slightly more comfortable now that they were talking about something less personal. “yeah I see so do you wanna go home or still wanna do stuff at the fair?” I asked "I'm game for whatever you want," Sean replied, trying not to sound too eager. "Whatever you're into, I'm down." He finished the last of his drink and wiped his hands on a napkin, ready for whatever came next. “let’s play a little more games then go Mk?” I say "Sounds good to me," Sean grinned, gaze flickering over to you playfully. "You're on." They quickly throw away what’s left of there food and He stepped closer, his body brushing against yours slightly as they walked towards the game stalls. “yea sure I can’t wait to see your face when I win” I giggle I look for a stall I could play against Sean and my eye catch’s a basketball half court then look at the game rules •Basketball, Grab a partner and play basketball!, one person shots first and they both go back and fourth till someone makes it to five!, the first to make it to five wins!• “This one!” I say happily “The basketball one it is," Sean agreed, following you over to the game. He watched intently as you stepped up to take your shot, his eyes never leaving you for a second. “Yes I made it!” I celebrate

“Nice shot," he congratulated you, a small grin playing at the corners of his lips. "Now it's my turn to show you what I've got." He took his place at the line, focusing intently on the hoop in front of him.“Watch this," he murmured under his breath, taking a deep breath before he released the ball. It soared through the air, hitting nothing but net with a satisfying swish. He turned to you with a triumphant grin. "Not so easy now, is it?"

•After the game•

"Well played," Sean said, shaking your hand in congratulations. "I guess you really were focused, huh?" He chuckled, a warm, genuine sound that sent a shiver down your spine "Alright, alright," Josh relented, clapping you on the shoulder. "I'll give you that one. But remember, I'm always ready for a rematch." He laughs

“Sure but I’m gonna win every. single. time.” I smirk “Alright" Sean said, stepping closer to you. "You're on. Let's see if you can beat me again." He smirks

“Bet” I smirk

•After 3 more rounds•

You're getting good at this," Sean admitted, a hint of amusement in his voice. "I'm impressed." he says

“oh my gosh im so tiredddd“ I say exhausted "You know," Sean said, leaning against the table with a smirk, "you could always take a break. Let me win one." He says “nope” i smile looking at his lips for a brief moment “Alright, alright," Sean laughed, shaking his head. "Let's call it a night then. But remember, I'm always up for a challenge." He leaned in closer, his lips brushing against your ear. "Especially when it comes to you." He says what’s that supposed to mean hm? "Oh, nothing," Sean replied innocently, stepping back with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Just saying that you're quite the competitor, Y/n. And I enjoy our little... rivalry." He smirks

“shall we go back home?” I say “I was hoping you'd say that," Sean grinned. "Lead the way." He says I grab out to hold his hands his hand sliding comfortably into yours as you lead him out of the parking lot. The cool night air had fallen, and a light chill crept through your bones, but somehow, you felt warm at the thought of spending the night with Sean what would happen?. “should I drive or you?” I ask him

"I'll drive," Sean offered, taking the keys out of your hand and unlocking the door of his car. He hopped in, turning to give you a grin before turning the key in the ignition.

The car ride back was silent but a comfortable silence I smile to myself looking out the window, I felt Sean glance at me then looking back at the rode the entire ride the entire car ride “alright we’re here” he parks his car “Sean” I turn to him

“Yes, Y/n?" Sean asked, turning to look at you. “I loved this date with you and I hope we can do it again” I say smiling at him

"I'm glad you did," Sean replied with a smirk. "And rest assured, we'll definitely have plenty more fun together." With that, he leaned over and placed a gentle kiss on your cheek before climbing out of the car. “Bye Sean” I say "Bye, Y/n," said, waving as he closed the door and started the car. With one last smile, he pulled out of the driveway and drove off into the night, leaving you with a warm, fuzzy feeling in your chest.

Okay so I saw this gem last night and I'm so impressed (&cried). (I have no spoilers just songs later)

This film is beautiful, Rob Marshall (who also directed Pirates of the Caribbean films) made changes that felt needed and worth it. There are also little hints to Hans Christian Anderson's story too so the main source material isn't completely lost.

Plus I now have the biggest crush on Eric. I love his song but omg hello 😍 Halle is insanely incredible too. Just the cast is great!

Because this is a good place for me to nerd out, I'd like to point out that the "new songs" for the film aren't completely new as the musical did their version of this year's back (see both below) Eric's solos, Ariel's song on land and the quartet from the musical just because.

I'm not criticising the film, it's just wound me up in articles claiming "it's the first time" these characters sing, well in the film capacity yes. I love all of these songs though! Just having a little mermaid vent.
