People are hypocrits when it comes to this Summer Walker situation and I'm going to expose them.

Summer Walker has Social anxiety. Yes her performances are trash I agree but you should forgive her because you would forgive the Disney babies especially Selena Gomez.

Selena is out here giving trash ass live performances on huge award shows. She is singing off key. She doesn't know the choreography and her music isn't ground breaking or helping to bring back ENTIRE GENRES back into the mainstream like what Summer is out here doing for RNB.

(now before you sza fans and Ella mai fans cuss me out I want ya'll to know that yes I acknowledge your fave. I too like SZA better but I'm not going to throw Summer under the buss. She's contributing to the return of RNB too.)

Selena Gomez fans will probably eat me alive for telling this truth but Selena is the perfect example of white mediocrity doing better than black excellence.

Now mind you I love Selena too. I've loved her since Disney. I still rock to a "year without rain" and "Love you like a love song." I was there for her "Revival" album but even a Selena fan like me has to admit when she sees shit.

I love her but why is it that when she does delivers trash ass mediocrity she gets PRAISED for that shit huh? Explain to me how she's singing off key on stage. Not knowing the choreography. Whisper singing and all she has to do is release a statement about how she had a "panic attack" and her fans and regular people all flock to her rescue from the evil trolls who teel it like it is?

Everytime this girl gets on stage people call it an EPIC COMEBACK.

People are out here CONGRATULATING her for even getting on stage and doing her "best" as they call it

But Summer Walker who has repeatedly expressed that she has Social anxiety and has explained multiple times how crippling it can be becomes black twitter's punching bag?

Summer who looks visibly uncomfortable but is Trying

And thing is... This isn't the first time this has happened selena gomez. Remember her other EPIC COMEBACK when she performed at the AMAs back in 2017?

How can someone so young have this many comebacks?

What is her fanbase going to do the NEXT time this happens?

The next time Selena has a breakdown because of cyber bullying. Goes away for a while. Comes back with a new album and video. Makes an EPIC COMEBACK on TV. Continues to give mediocre live performances and then gets criticed and later on trolled over said mediocre and lack luster shows. Then has ANOTHER break down and the cycle starts again?

Imagine if Summer had HALF the sympathy this midiocre white girl does? 🤦🏾‍♂️

Okay. So before I get into my review I feel like I gotta give you guys an idea of where I’m at with the artist PRIOR to listenin to the album.

I honestly did not listen to any of her older music. Well wait.. take that back. Same Old Love or whatever song that was slapped. I fucked with it hard. But for me personally no - I wasn’t a fan of her music, and all really I knew she was on a show on Disney, and she dated the Biebs and The Weeknd.

Rare just came out yesterday, so I’ve listened to it.

And y’all. WHAT THE FUUUUUUUCK IS HAPPENIN!?!?! IS THIS REALLY SELENA!?!?! Like I never would’ve thought she’d make an album that would sound like this. While according to the Internet and everything this is a pop record, I don’t think it’s that stereotypical pop anyone would expect. Each song has its own sound.

Noteable Tracks:

⭐️ Rare- Honestly I picture fuckin hippies in bell bottoms runnin around in a field with flower crowns on.

⭐️ Dance Again- This song follows rare and I feel like I’m in a club on Cap Hill (if you’re not in Seattle.. I’m sure you have a similar neighborhood in your city). And honestly I just wanted to include it to show the difference... it’s good but not a fave.

⭐️ Lose You to Love Me- Yo you know it’s about to be deep af when it’s pretty much just piano and her voice. But on the real it’s a beautiful song. I added it to my library.

⭐️ People You Know- It just has a nice flowy kinda vibe to it. One line that stood out to me was “I always wanna get higher, I never know when enough is enough.” Which definitely isn’t relatable.

🔥 Crowded Room feat. 6LACK- This is the first song I added to my library when I listened to the full album the first time. First of all, 6LACK is fuckin amazing so if you don’t know his shit go listen. I’m a sucker for a good chorus and this song’s got it.

⭐️ A Sweeter Place feat Kid Cudi- When you listen to the words she’s talkin about some shit dude. But it’s a pretty upbeat song that you wouldn’t really notice it.
