A Florida man with a suspended license was arrested for running over a deer and posting the video of him doing it – on TikTok, according to deputies.
Clay Kinney, 27, was arrested on five counts of animal torment, one count of animal torture, and one count of a moving traffic violation, an affidavit shows.
On Dec. 28, a Seminole County Sheriff's Office detective was patrolling an area in Geneva after an investigation began into Kinney due to the TikTok video.
The detective spotted Kinney and conducted a traffic stop on his Blue Chevy Tahoe. Kinney admitted to not having a driver's license due to it being suspended.
When asked about the video he posted on TikTok, Kinney admitted to running over the deer in his Tahoe, arrest records show.
Kinney allegedly attempted to run over five deer but was only able to hit one deer with his car.
In 2021, Kinney had another wildlife run-in with law enforcement.
An officer responded to a car crash involving Kinney on Snow Hill Road in Geneva. When the officer arrived at the scene, he watched Kinney immediately walk toward his truck and release a fawn from a dog box, arrest records show.
Kinney told law enforcement that he parked on the side of the road and took the fawn before being rear-ended. He told officers he was going to take it home and release it on his 5-acre property.
The officer told Kinney that his story didn't make sense since the Little Big Econ State Forest is on both sides of Snow Hill Road.
He was arrested for possessing a baby fawn during the closed hunting season and later released on bond.
No other details about the incident have been released.

Two dogs and their puppies were stuck in Californias Park Fire. An emergency responder ran 1.5 miles to save them.
Northern California’s Park Fire has forced thousands of people to evacuate. When one resident’s truck broke down in the mad dash to escape, forcing them to leave behind both the vehicle, two dogs and their litter of puppies behind, one emergency responder stepped up to save them.  The Park Fire broke out on July 24 after police said a man pushed a burning car into a gully. The car quickly sparked a blaze that has turned into one of the largest wildfires in state history and that within hours of its ignition forced thousands of people to evacuate the area north of Sacramento.  It was amid those “frantic” evacuations, police say, that one resident’s truck “became disabled” while they were attempting to leave a remote area above Cohasset. The Butte County Sheriff’s Office said the resident was forced to leave their truck behind – with two adult Rottweilers and their puppies. The owner provided responders with the location of the truck, but the fire had already blocked access to it.  But on Sunday, four days after the evacuation, a search and rescue official named Trevor Skaggs went back to look for them. He was flown to the area on a helicopter.  A Rottweiler and her four puppies were rescued from California’s Park Fire four days after their owner was forced to leave them behind.  Butte County Sheriff via Facebook “After arriving, Trevor ran 1.5 miles to the location and found the puppies and mother alive, but tired and very thirsty,” the sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook. “Unfortunately, the puppies’ father was found to have not survived.”  Skaggs gave the surviving animals water and bites from a protein bar, police said, and was able to get all the animals to follow him on the 1.5-mile trek back to the helicopter.  “The puppies and their mother were then flown to the Chico Airport and are now being cared for by members of the North Valley Animal Disaster Group,” the sheriff’s office continued. “It’s been a horrific few days for our community and we are grateful to be able to share this amazing story.”  The animal rescue group said on Facebook that the dogs had been “presumed lost” after the fire “cut off all ground contact with the region,” but even that couldn’t stop Skaggs from committing to the “remarkable rescue.”  “Trevor hiked to the truck, released the happy canines, and played pied piper on the way back to the helicopter for the trip to medical care and the emergency animal shelter,” the group said.  North Valley Animal Disaster Group said that it’s taken in 61 animals, including cows and horses, to its large animal shelter and 84 pets to the small animal shelter.  More from CBS News Li Cohen Li Cohen is a senior social media producer at CBS News. She previously wrote for amNewYork and The Seminole Tribune. She mainly covers climate, environmental and weather news. Source link via The Novum Times

The Brazilian president......that doesn't make sense though.....nothing he talks about makes sense....I suppose it comes up because the yellow deli is around and I prefer to eat Mexican really
I think conversations of what is indigenous is in the states on a cosmological level is a form of hip hop really
There are many peoples and diversities migrants internationals aboriginals that create a unity in a sense of cosmology here
So it's more a belief that world war two didn't end and it's still needs to believe in an illegal government operating within a prior governance
The creation of neo nazism is still unfortunate....they went to jails young and they adapt without.....it can I think be white pride at times
And that was weird and expresses all our limitations
Michael ondaatje Billy the kidd the world of serial killers I mean everything has a bigger fish and his own friends eventually will execute him maybe
I am a mars in Scorpio.....I have my friends that assure that I have when I do we all have our friends
If you ask me the president of Brazil was upset that some old timer hired a dashing tall sheriff and together decided he was of no good
I think the states as a 20th century history tends to view nations that protected immigrants as Seminole and so look more to native records to find influxes of Jews etc a gay history even has come to be seen as more of a native nation
So that's what I hear them saying of more ecologically diverse is less casualty
I find the president of Brazil from an African perspective a small time mass murderer compared to what an African dictative could accomplish to him so they can still have migrant wildebeests
Say Uganda yes I will have my fruits and warmth for my joints
I don't know if news today that a mental health facility could replace a ranch.....is more Brazilian president soon indigenous will finally be gone.....
I think it's more Michael ondaatje.....a sheriff had a small property out there and after enough trapping in inner cities and friends of serial killers it's no more Billy and kidd and his lateenas
Areas of private property have an institute for peace about them.....in San Diego county
Peace can be the most insipid man people wanting to go out there to suicide pogrom....sober living only for veterans but then mentals budget is veterans and elderly budget is veterans and welfare is veterans....it was like a military coup where disparate issues of draft and non affiliated had to make do with large budgets for The Veterans
I think people were out there talking to things not human and human has no animalia to Mary baker Eddy bones matter etc is witchcraft

Fort Gadsden: The Negro Fort's history buried in the forest | floridarambler.com
I knew I was in trouble when the music blasting through the speakers of my SUV suddenly stopped. ‘No Service,’ something I should have expected from my phone given our location in the middle of nowhere, Florida’s Apalachicola National Forest. An endless array of cypress, oak, slash and longleaf pine line this lonely stretch of State Road 65 — until the police showed up.
The county sheriff’s car, heading in the opposite way from me, was the only other vehicle on the highway. In my rearview mirror, I saw the sheriff’s deputy slow down, turn around, speed up and then hit the lights. Fortunately, the deputy let me off with a warning and directions to the destination I was trying to reach. “Fort Gadsden’s in the next county, about 10 miles,” she said.
My tribulations didn’t end at the county line. I almost blew past the park sign but managed to turn down a dirt road that led to the entrance and seemed to run on forever. Two miles in, and my wife noticed the signs warning hunters to keep their weapons away from residences that we could not see from the road. Panic began to set in and a turn down a second dirt road didn’t ease the anxiety.
Finally, we reached the park entrance, but upon seeing the big ‘Closed’ sign on the shut gate, my wife decided she had had enough. “Let’s go,” she said in a way that shut down any debate.
History was made here
Tumblr media
Welcome to perhaps one of Florida’s least accessible historic sites and definitely its most overlooked piece of Black History.
The Fort Gadsden State Historic Site is roughly six miles southwest of Sumatra, a tiny unincorporated community that is a more than an hour’s drive from Tallahassee but about half that distance from Apalachicola and the Gulf Coast. Still, the site’s remote location shouldn’t deter enthusiasts from a visit, much less diminish the site’s significance.
Following skirmishes between American and British forces in west Florida during the War of 1812, the British retreated to an outpost along the Apalachicola River at Prospect Bluff in 1814 and began fortifying it.
Tumblr media
In an effort to man the new fort with volunteers, the British offered to purchase slaves from the Creeks and Seminoles living in the territory. The fort soon became a magnet for free Blacks, runaway slaves and Native Americans.
The following year the British abandoned the fort, leaving a heavily armed garrison to its Black inhabitants. Word continued to spread, and more runaways joined the Black and Native Americans already living in and around the fort.
By 1816, the Negro Fort had become an affliction upon a growing number of their southern White plantation owners who feared what an armed garrison of runaway slaves would mean to slavery. Although southerners implored the federal government to consider attacking the fort and ultimately taking the territory of Florida away from Spain, Washington was reluctant to stage an attack that might lead to war.
However, that didn’t stop then Major General Andrew Jackson from directing Brigadier General Edmund Gaines from launching an illegal assault against the outpost.
The deadliest cannonball in American history
The actual Battle of the Negro Fort was brief but brutal. The Black inhabitants had not been trained in the use of the cannon and other heavy munitions and were unable to defend the fort against the invading American forces and their Creek Indian allies.
All it took was one hot cannon shot from an American gunboat to land in the fort’s powder magazine to blow up the garrison and end the battle. About 270 inhabitants were killed and the rest were captured. It was the deadliest cannonball in American history, according to Dale Cox, author of The Fort at Prospect Bluff.
The demolished fort would later be rebuilt by Lieutenant James Gadsden and used as a southern outpost until a malaria outbreak forced Confederate troops to abandon the fort for good. In time, the Apalachicola forest overran the site, and its remains lost to neglect and the pages of history.
Your adventure starts here
Tumblr media
What remains of the old Negro Fort/Fort Gadsden site today should appeal to both the history buff and the lover of the open road and the great outdoors.
Apalachicola National Forest offers a long list of recreational activities, including camping, canoeing, hiking, kayaking and swimming. At the Fort Gadsden Historic Site, visitors can take in the long-ago refuge amid the solitude of the surrounding forest.
The site contains historical markings, a picnic area and a hiking trail with interpretative kiosks that explains the story of the two forts. The trail leads visitors to the Apalachicola River and continues to the original fortress and the “Renegade Cemetery,” where many of the fort’s Black inhabitants who died in the battle’s explosion are buried.
From there, it’s less than a 40-minute drive to Apalachicola, a historic yet hip port town along Florida’s Gulf Coast. The community offers everything from nationally recognized restaurants to an array of festivals, historic walking tours and other outdoor activities. It’s the perfect culmination to an excited road trip to a remote piece of Florida history.
The site of the Negro Fort still represents a powerful symbol that once threatened America’s expanding slave society. Men, women and children died fighting to live free.
Unfortunately, the memorial to this bygone refuge is located in such a remote part of Florida that it doesn’t attract the number of visitors who’d appreciate its significance as a testament to an American ideal.
Working in the timeless and enduring medium of oil paints, Jackson Walker creates finely detailed paintings executed in a traditional realist style. Historical and military subjects are faithfully created not only as fine works of art but also as a telling and honest documentation of true events and notable personalities in the mystery and drama of Florida’s dynamic past.
From the early Spanish adventurers to the Florida we know today, the saga of Florida history has been told in many ways. This collection of paintings portrays the incidents and personalities within the 500 years of triumphs and tragedies that have become Florida history.

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. (WKRC) - A teen was arrested and charged after allegedly making hundreds of bomb threats and swatting calls across the nation.
According to CNN, citing the Seminole County State Attorney's Office, 17-year-old Alan Filion was arrested and extradited to Florida on January 30 in connection with a swatting incident directed at a mosque. Per the network, Filion allegedly placed a phone call in May of 2023 and threatened a mass shooting at the Masjid Al Hayy Mosque in Sanford, Florida.
Filion claimed to have both a handgun and explosives, CNN reported, citing a news release from the Seminole County Sheriff's Office. Per CNN, the caller can be heard saying he is going to "commit a mass shooting in the name of Satan." The sound of gunshots can also be heard, per CNN.
Filion's alleged call resulted in approximately 30 police officers responding to the Masjid Al Hayy Mosque, per CNN. Filion also allegedly targeted FBI agents, FBI offices, historically Black colleges, mosques, high schools, and also made bomb threats to military bases and the Pentagon, according to the network.
Law enforcement worked alongside the FBI and the Department of Justice (DOJ) and were eventually able to trace the mosque 911 call to Filion's home in Lancaster, California, according to CNN, which reported that Filion created multiple accounts on websites that offered swatting services and "various IP addresses connected to these accounts" led authorities to the suspect's address.
Authorities executed a search warrant at the address in July of 2023 and Filion was arrested on January 18, per CNN. The teen was tried as an adult and faces the following charges:
Three felony charges of false reporting
One felony charge of unlawful use of a two-way communicating device
The charges also accuse Filion of committing the acts while facilitating or further an act of terrorism and while showing prejudice, according to CNN. Per the network, Filion remains in custody. An attorney representing the teen refused to comment to CNN's reporters.
“Swatting is a perilous and senseless crime, which puts innocent lives in dangerous situations and drains valuable resources. The substantial law enforcement response in this swatting case underscores our unwavering dedication to community safety and holding offenders accountable, regardless of where they are located,” Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma said, per CNN. “Make no mistake, we will continue to work tirelessly in collaboration with our policing partners and the judiciary to apprehend swatting perpetrators.”

Boyfriend arrested in a murder 24 years after Florida womans grisly killing
The latest headlines from our reporters across the US sent straight to your inbox each weekday Your briefing on the latest headlines from across the US A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of his girlfriend that occurred 24 years ago. She was found partially naked lying on a concrete slab with horrific injuries. Gary Durrance, 73, the “longtime boyfriend” of Sherry Holtz, who was brutally murdered in 1999, has been charged with second-degree homicide, the Sanford Police Department announced in a press conference on Friday. “We are absolutely positive that the right man is behind bars tonight,” said Bianca Gillet, a public information officer for the police department. “And he will finally serve justice and have to answer for his crimes.” Holtz’s body was found on December 4, 1999, in a wooded area in Sanford, Florida, while someone was out collecting cans, the police explained. The 50-year-old woman was lying on her back on a concrete slab; her next cut – which was thought to be the primary cause of her death – had suffered blunt force trauma to the head and had been strangled, the police said. On top of the grisly state her body had been left in, police added that she also had lacerations on her upper body and evidence of sexual battery. Holtz’s clothing was pulled off, exposing most of her body, Gillet explained. Gillet said that there was no other way to describe the woman’s death but as a “brutal homicide.” While a sexual assault kit was used when her body was first discovered, no DNA evidence was found. Gary Durrance, 73, was arrested in connection to the murder of his girlfriend Sherry Holtz more than 20 years ago (Seminole County Sheriff’s Office) A bloodstained knife was also found at the scene of the murder, but even this was not useful in finding how committed this horrific act, as authorities said the weapon samples were “not sufficient in size for testing” at that time, the police explained, adding that looking for DNA evidence was not as prolific as it is today. Due to these initial failings in trying to name the perpetrator, the case went cold, and the person who was behind Holtz’s brutal killing was left unidentified for almost a quarter of a century. As time passed and technology and DNA testing advanced, the cold case was reopened in May 2023. It was at this time that investigators learned that the blood on the blade of the knife found did belong to Holtz. Then, they found that additional DNA on the handle also belonged to Durrance – a key piece of evidence that has led to his arrest over 20 years later. Durrance was a suspect in the initial 1999 investigation after Holtz’s body was found. Police found out that Holtz and Durrnace had argued, with Durrance kicking his girlfriend out of their shared home two days before she would be found dead. The couple also had a history of domestic violence incidents that dated back to 1996. Due to this new evidence, along with witness statements, an arrest warrant was issued on July 17. The man was tracked down and arrested on July 18 before being charged with second-degree homicide and is currently being held in the Seminole County Jail. The police claimed at the press conference that Durrance “to some extent admitted his involvement in the homicide.” “We just kind of hope that this brings some peace to the family knowing that this individual who was a longtime boyfriend will now spend the rest of his natural life in jail,” said the chief of police Cecil E Smith. “And have the opportunity to face justice for the things that he has committed to Sherry.” Police added that Holtz has an adult son, who they are still working to try and find and contact to notify him about the arrest.
