An XRH-1 Pinwheel being tested at Van Nuys Airport, California by the US Navy in April 1957
Developed in 1954 for the US Navy, the Pinwheel is unique in that it is strapped onto the pilot and instead of an engine, the aircraft is powered by rocket motors on each end of the main rotor fueled by pressurized Nitrogen and Hydrogen Peroxide
