Sera Myu Week - Day 1

The first prompt! I am not fully back to Tumblr, so I think I’m gonna stick with rankings for most of the prompts! But this’ll help you get a bit of a better look at me! @sera-myu-week

Day 1, Dark Kingdom. Gonna rank all the Dark Kingdom Myu. Gonna exclude The Super Live & Shining Moon Tokyo since we haven’t seen them in full. But just know, I do really love both casts and they would probably be high up on the list. xD 5. Gaiden: Dark Kingdom Fukkatsu Hen (1993)

Scan from https://www.shiningmoon.com.pl/ As you may have expected, Gaiden is at the bottom of my list. I’m sorry, it’s still my least-favorite musical. I have found charm in it when I rewatched it a year ago, but it definitely struggled a lot. It was the first musical, and it definitely has the worst growing pains out of all of them. But, it gave us ANZA and La Soldier, so it definitely was good for something, at least. XD

4. NogiMyu - Team MOON (2018)

Man, the NogiMyu fanwars really had me disliking this version for a very long time. xD I actually REALLY like it now. I prefer the other 2 versions of NogiMyu, but it definitely has its charm! It’s crazy to me that only 2 of the senshi are still in Nogizaka46 now (Riria and Mizuki)! 

3. La Reconquista (2013)

You know, there’s just something I really love about La Reconquista but I just can’t put my finger on it. Besides Petite Etrangere, it’s definitely one of the weaker Nelke Musicals, and yet, I just like it? Watching the Blu-ray, I couldn’t believe how much I was enjoying it. I think for being the musical tha revived Myu, it did a good job. It set the tone that eventually lead us to getting even better musicals later! PLUS THE INNERS CAST IS AMAZING <3 (Even Miyabi. I love her too. XD)

2. NogiMyu 2019

NogiMyu 2019 was honestly so good. I will say, watching it for the first time, I didn’t really feel it as I was VERY in love with Team STAR. But, over time, I REALLY grew to love this cast. I can’t pick a favorite between Shiori, Junna, and Seira. They’re all SO good. Plus, the amazing supporting cast from the past NogiMyu performances. Mayu was a bit of a weak link from the inners, but she’s still good and has improved a lot in Nogizaka46 since then!

1. NogiMyu - Team STAR (2018)

I’ve been gone for a while, but you guys KNOW this was gonna be my first place. Even now, it still ranks either my favorite or second-favorite musical of all time (it switches daily XD). I loved this cast SO much. SayuriMoon is one of my all-time faves and she will remain supreme in my eyes! It was the first NogiMyu version I saw, and my heart will always remain with Team STAR. ALSO HELLO QUEEN KANA NAKADA THE LEGEND I LOVE HER SO MUCH.

Tokyo Tower

This will be the first of many posts regarding Tokyo Tower. In the anime and really in most anime, Tokyo Tower just kind of appears where ever they want it to be. Tokyo Tower is not really visible from Juban unless you are in a high rise building as it is around 2km away with many tall buildings in Minato Ward.

The few times you can see Tokyo Tokyo from the street is when you are be lower building and standing one of the many hills. Even then less visible than the image below. Next trip I'm going to tackle this more.

Tokyo Tower was first destination after checking in to the hotel. The night we went it was lit up in different colors and later in the week it was in the classic orange one seen in the anime picture above.

However, I did capture this amazing one with the moon.

Taken on December 2, 2022. As a reminder, Japan had very stick rules regarding masking in public as it just opened to tourism. So there will be lots of pictures with masks.

Outside of the Tower are rotating art exhibits. This one featured different lanterns that light up in different colors. Here are a few of them on the left side of the Tower.

It was really cool to see anime signs everywhere. I'm not used to seeing it where I live so this was great.

Missed the Sera Myu Music Festival Chronicle by two weeks. No way I was able to change my trip and Fan Club members had first dibs in Japan. I didn't join the overseas one until 2023. So good luck getting a ticket! It was held at the hotel below, Shinagawa Prince Hotel in the Stellar Ball.

In the distance you can see the Rainbow Bridge. Not sure what the lit up circle is towards the bottom. We were rushing a bit due to time for for our tickets for the upper deck since it was one of the last time available for the evening.

i got into sailor moon like months before the sera myu cast changed which meant there was a lot of shuusaya content for three weeks then it just stopped forever. they go to q-pot café together whenever they do a sailor moon collab but that's like once or twice a year... there used to be constant photoshoots interviews livestreams. miss them so much.

@sera-myu-week 2022 | Day 4: Dream Arc

The fourth Sailor Moon story arc has been adapted to stage a few times. Somewhat as rare as the second arc, but Bandai used Dream elements in other productions more often: specifically, the Amazon Trio and Amazoness Quartet. Though in fact, to this day there’s never been a stage adaption of the Dream arc featuring the Quartet, for both Bandai and Nelke opted for the trio. The four girls were only seen twice, and in a different story!

Sera Myu Week - Day 2

I am here again, participating in Sera Myu Week. Day 2! Once again, doing a musical ranking. Without further ado, let’s go! <3 @sera-myu-week​

4. THE TEASE I WILL NEVER FORGIVE (2018 & 2019)

I will never forgive Nelke for teasing the Black Moon arc not once, not twice, but 3 times and never giving it to us. I’m still waiting for a NogiMyu Black Moon. We’re gonna get it one day. Right? RIGHT? =‘)

3. Tanjou Ankoku no Princess Black Lady (2001)

Scan by https://www.shiningmoon.com.pl/ A classic Myu, and surprisingly the first Black Moon musical! (Yes, first stage completely skipped it, and so did Fumina and Miyuki’s runs LOL). Being a first for Marina, it was a pretty good musical! Plus, still having mostly Miyuki’s final cast, they really did a good job. You’ll see later that I prefer the revised version, but this version has the fun civilian La Soldier version that Usagi gets scolded for and I love it. x’D

2. Petite Etrangere (2014)

Petite Etrangere is my least-favorite Nelke Musical. I always lose interest, but I think that’s just because Black Moon is my least-favorite Sailor Moon arc. That being said, this musical gave me my favorite Pluto, Mikako Ishii and also Ai no Starshine. Plus finally gave Mercury her line in Shiratsuki Gonin Musume. While I do find Petite Etrangere a tad boring, I love the inners so much that I can’t put it lower than Black Lady, even though Black Lady is a better musical. x’D

1. Tanjou Ankoku no Princess Black Lady Kaiteiban

Scan by https://www.shiningmoon.com.pl/ Pretty much all the praise I said for the original (except the fun Usagi scene) goes here, since it’s a minor revision. That being said, Black Lady Kaiteiban was my first ever Myu. This was my gateway into Myu, so it has a very special place in my heart. I will never forget it, and therefore, it has to be my top Black Moon Musical. It just couldn’t be anything else. <3 Also, New Innocent Demand is a bop.

Sera Myu Music Festival 2022 Blu-Ray

Event was held at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel Stellar Ball in Tokyo from November 17th – 20th, 2022.

I missed it by less than two weeks since I wasn't in Japan until December of that year. I doubt I would have stood a chance getting tickets.

Can we also talk about how excited I am to have Japanese Blu-Rays being the same region where I live? Makes it so much easier!!!

i do desperately wish i'd been into sera myu while it was still running i think i watched them like the week of the last show 😭 scrolling through older blogs seeing all the livestream/interview content with the actresses makes me so nostalgic for something i missed. sayaka's on instagram and she still posts pics with shuu though :)
