Top 3 Qualities Needed To Accomplish Anything

The reason why I wrote the book is to help inspire people to know that you can do anything. Even if you don't have money, even if you don't have resources, there're really just three things that you need to have knowledge, courage, action. And I credit my friend Wayne. Wayne Boss, who shared that philosophy with me early on one of my mentors. And it's really about having those three qualities that anybody can capture and with having knowledge, courage, and action, you can accomplish anything. And I talk about that more in my book.

Patience And Discipline - Virtues To Grow Your Business Successfully

I'm a fan of animals in their natural habitat. I'm not really a fan of like them at my house or zoos but yeah, and I remember, I was in the amazon. I stayed with these tribes. This tribe called the matisse and these guys were former cannibals and I hung out in the jungle with them for a while and I remember watching this like and by the way, when you're with native people in their in the jungle settings, like an activity like watching a wild animal appear is like, that's it. That's all that's going on for the day like, they will sit and they will just watch all day long this happening and I remember watching this like, beautiful black jaguar which is you think happens all the time in the jungle, it's rare. 

I was there for months and you know really I think two times we saw a jaguar and it was for seconds and we saw this cat come and you think okay, what makes this cat an effective predator. What makes this cat a useful creature and so you're watching it and it would wait forever. It would sit back you see these like bright yellow eyes like just through these like leaves and it would just be patient. And you realize this is a cat that could probably jump like 40 feet in the air and like pop trees and gates and do all kinds of stuff but ultimately it's the fact that it's a stalker. The fact that it's got patience is the reason why it's effective. And if you want to be effective in business and life in any of these things, you want to become what Carlos Castaneda, the great author author from the 1960s 70s and 80s would say. 

You want to become a person of power, you want to become a stalker, you want to have the ability to stalk your prey. I'm using that symbolically. Obviously, please don't become a stalker in the in the weird sense of it. But you want to have the quality of patience because others will lack in that discipline and when they lack in that discipline, you can pounce and take advantage. It's exactly what we teach on amazon. We teach people hey, find a niche. Look for the vulnerability and then you know, people follow our system that we teach on our FBA seller course and you follow the system. You find the niche, you find the vulnerability and then you just wait. You wait until the right opportunity and then you pounce and that's how it works. That's pretty interesting.

Why Is It Necessary To Create And Use Networks?

Is that you got to develop long-term relationships with people in your industry and they have to like you. Because nobody knew in 2001 or 1996 that Jordan Peele and Jason Sudeikis would be in Amsterdam telling dumb jokes. 20 years later Jordan Peele is one of the biggest directors in Hollywood, Jason Jake is the biggest actor but those guys all are friends. And they basically when they have projects, they call each other and talk to them. 

You and I call each other and talk to projects because we have a friendship, a relationship and and who was I talking to, they were so oh I know a friend of mine, his daughter's on a real big TV show, and he's like that's just not fair, like, it's not fair. He can make a phone call to the network executive and his daughter gets a shout and go. Wait a second, that's exactly fair. Because he developed relationships for many many years with these people. 

He didn't call for a favor. He said hey, can you put her in line and consider her and the funny thing is the executive's like look, I don't want to go with someone I don't know who it is. I don't want to go with some parent, that's crazy. So like, it's funny because people think that it's not fair that people get jobs relationships. I think it is fair because people have to make decisions on the on the facts they have and if you sow relationships for three five ten years, it makes sense that they would you know give you a call or touch base.

Is It OK To Do Things You Hate In A Startup?

The first thing I'm gonna tell you and this is a little contradictory to what some people say. The first thing that i'll tell you is that somebody told me once that if you do what you love you'll never work a day in your life. Doesn't mean you won't wake up and go to a job. It just means that because you love what you do, it doesn't feel like work and so the first key is picking something that you don't hate. Now for a lot of younger people people who are just kind of building themselves up in life you might have to do some things that you hate until you can do what you love and that's okay. 

So first and foremost the second thing that I will share with you that's been very helpful to me and I think probably could be helpful to your listeners as well is that we are all humans. One of my mentors told me that behind every deal is always a human being. Everything that you see around you was sold to one human from another human at some point in time. So what does that mean? That means that we have to recognize that we too are humans and we are fallible. So for example you you know what food is good for you but if you keep junk food in the house at a certain point you're gonna just grab for that thing. That's not so good for you. Why? 

Because you're just human, you're vulnerable. So the more intelligent person, the sneaky player would say I'm not going to put the food that I don't want to eat close to me or in the house. Even I'm not even going to buy it because I know my vulnerabilities. Now that is a person that's really realized. Now knowing this information what you have to know is that our brains, our neurochemistry works on feedback loops so it's like a circle. Now if we are constantly putting input into this machine and there's no output coming out we are going to move to something that's giving us greater output or some output at all right? If we keep banging on a rock right our steel wall and no one's answering we just keep at some point we're gonna stop banging right? But if we bang and someone says hello and we bang and bang and someone says yes and we bang and bang and the door opens a little bit we're gonna keep banging harder and harder until that door opens.

Working On The Go - Freedom From Office Hours

Is that you always need people to captain the trains and to ride the boats and someone's always got to drive the train and what that means is that the people that really want to build their lifestyle of freedom and with recurring revenue and using these algorithms and finding good mentorship and mentorship programs that they can be involved in to invest in their well-being but also invest in their personal development. Those people will have the opportunity to work from wherever the world they want like I do. I bring my laptop and you know I took my whole family to the grand canyon you know. We were doing amazon in the car on the road trip there. Super easy to do.

Shut Out The Shit - On Your Rails Toward Success

▶ Video Transcript: I was 15 years old thinking I want to find wealth, fortune all the great things that America offers. Books were my friends. I read books by Napoleon Hill, books by Og Mandino, all the great old-time writers of that time. I read Tony Robbins and Wayne Dyer and all the personal development guys. This other guy named Stuart Wilde. I read his books and I thought, man, you know what? I'm I'm gonna leave home and I left home. I left and I was sleeping at that time in abandoned buildings or buildings that were under construction. Los Angeles was in a huge building boom at that time.

So I realized that I could get into these buildings late at night when the brokers weren't in there, wake up in the morning before they got there and I'd be out and I'd be living in luxury houses, maybe there wasn't electricity or water in those days in some of the places because they weren't built yet but it was a safe place to lay my head and subsequent to that I realized that there was a big electronic music scene. I had found a mentor, a guy who had agreed to take me under his wing and he was very familiar with the electronic music scene, the rave scene, the dance scene. So I got involved in that. I started throwing some clubs to make a little bit of extra money. I was still sleeping wherever I could lay my head and I remember that I would sleep behind the speakers, most people don't know this. In front of speakers, very loud, very hard to sleep. Behind speakers, super quiet and very warm. So I would sleep behind the speakers. I would wake up the club, would still be going on and I started looking around thinking how is the money being made in these places to realize only that it was by the drug dealers.

I read Richard Bach and and all these great writers, those old-timey writers that wrote about success. I don't know how much of those guys what they said was and how much of it was real and you know there's all this controversy around Napoleon Hill and those guys and that's fine. But it created your frame of mind for sure. That's right. It created a mindset for me that that was possible. So later in life as I approached more and more success, I started reaching out to writers. I started reaching out to personal development writers, business writers and making them my friends and started working with them on some of these concepts of success, which I, you know, to this day carry with me.
