Matchmaker, Matchmaker - N. Horan + S. Mendes + Lewis C. Imagine
NOTE: this one features Lewis (in case you didn't catch it in the title) as reader's love interest in this imagine. If you're not into that, don't worry. Like my other platonic fics this can be read as a separate piece and with the others. warnings, this is not my best writing and niall is not the best wingman. lewis is also a cheeky shit. here we go!
TAGLIST: @sinceweremutual @theshyspy @sunriseholland @swiftmendeshoran @fedorable-killjoys @littlekidsteve @treadinglifeorslowlydrowning @mendesblurb
SUMMARY: in which your roommate discovers a secret relationship conspiring between you and your other roommate's BFF
Tumblr media
It was another slow afternoon in the apartment. Shawn languidly strolled through the front door following his gym session, bare-chested and clad in sweatpants with slip-on shoes he had grown accustomed to sliding against the welcome mat upon entry. After sending Niall a small greeting when he entered the living room, he paused.
“Hey, you haven’t seen my speaker anywhere have you? The small, red one?” Niall’s concentrated stare peels away from the flat screen mounted to the wall, and the strumming of his calloused fingertips on guitar strings halted.
“Didn’t you lend it to Y/N a few days ago?” Shawn’s eyes flicker around in thought before his pointer finger and thumb meet in a snap. He points at Niall victoriously.
“I did. Thanks, man.” His pace is now eager when he reaches your room. So eager for the portable speaker you kindly borrowed for a beach day earlier in the week, Shawn forgot to knock on your door. Little noise could be heard on the other side as he approached your bedroom door, other than an R&B mix playing on low volume.
“Hey, Y/N are you through with m–MY EYES, HOLY SHIT!” Shawn turns to face the bedroom door he just entered through as you attempt to shield the sight of your nude body, as well as your boyfriend. Thankfully, your boyfriend’s ass took up most of Shawn’s vision, leaving the image of your naked frame–mostly–up for interpretation.
“Shawn!” You squeal, before biting. “We talked about knocking.”
“I’m sorry! I didn’t know you had company. At least warn me and Niall next time you have someone over. A text, a sock on the door, something!” The man pleads.
“Niall’s here?!” Shawn catches a hint of fright in your voice, overlapped by a deeper exclamation demanding the same question. One that sounded familiar to Shawn.
“Yeah…he came home early. Why is…” He turns around and is blanching all over again at the sight of Lewis’s face, reddened and dazed beside yours which is holding the same expression. Everything below your collarbones is decently covered by a white sheet.
“Lewis–wait a minute. You two?” Shawn’s finger raises accusingly and wags back and forth between you and Lewis. Embarrassed by being caught, you find yourself sinking further down below the top sheet. “How long has this been happening?”
You and Lewis share a look, before turning back to face Shawn. “You remember the night we went out for drinks and Niall invited Lewis so I could finally meet him?” Niall thought it only fair to introduce you to one of his best friends since you are responsible for showing him Lewis’s music. Shawn nods, but still has difficulty putting the pieces together.
“Yeah, but Lewis left separately and the rest of us took a cab home.” Shawn recounts unless he had too much to drink. But his memory from that night near a year ago remains pretty clear.
“Right, well later that night…”
☆★☆★☆★☆★
Normally the amount of alcohol you consumed hours prior would be enough to put you to sleep, but you were restless in your bed. Counting sheep was useless, and you were in a drought of sleeping medication. Of course, you could go knocking on Shawn and Niall’s bedroom doors but something told you that the pattering rain outside sang them lullabies as soon as they crawled into their beds.
You resorted to a quest into the kitchen to make a cup of tea. Luckily, there were still some packets of a lavender chamomile blend begging for some attention, and a new tea kettle you needed to test after your old one had become too retired. Amidst the kettle aiding to heat the water, you reached up into one of the cabinets for a comfortable-sized mug. Halfway through bringing it down from the shelf, it practically tumbles out of your grasp as three loud knocks are deposited onto your front door.
“Jesus,” you breathe out, resting a hand against your chest. You turn to eye the clock on the stove and spare a suspicious look back towards the door. “Who could be here at eleven at night?” You creep towards the front door and bravely stand on your toes to take a look out of the peephole. Standing outside of your door is the prime reason you haven’t been able to sleep, you just haven't realized it yet.
You pull the door back to reveal Lewis, dripping wet onto the carpeted flooring of your apartment building and clutching something in his fist.
“H-hey Lewis…whatcha doin’ here?” You eye him up and down, and truthfully–you don’t mind taking your time while you do it.
“I came to drop this off. Seems important…” He lifts a hand to offer you a closer peek at your purse. A gasp leaves you as you snatch it from him in a haste and dig through it. Your wallet, sunglasses, lip gloss…everything you carried with you is still in its rightful place. Before you can think about it, you are then grappling Lewis’s body to embrace yours with a grateful exclamation being muffled into his dripping wet t-shirt.
“You’re soaking…did you walk here?” Your eyebrows shoot up as he looks down shamefully at his damp, lace-up sneakers.
“Yeah, I don’t know how to hail a cab…but I did know Niall’s address so I figured he could drop the bag off to you when he got the chance. I didn’t realize you lived here as well. Niall never told me you two were…”
He trails off before your conversation is interrupted by a whistling tea kettle pouring out steam.
“Here, come in and let me grab you a towel.” On your way to fetch a towel for Lewis, you also turn off the tea kettle from the stovetop and call out to him, “feel free to help yourself to a cup. I added way too much water, anyways.”
When you return with the fluffiest towel you could find, Lewis is warming himself up with a cup of tea in a mug, while simultaneously filling the mug you brought down with a glass. When you offer him a towel, he slides your mug towards you, with a small “thanks” leaving both of you.
“Jinx,” you say. “I’d say you owe me a soda but I’m trying to cut down on my caffeine.” You murmur through a sip of chamomile. Lewis wraps the towel around himself and chuckles.
“A tea, then, whenever I see you next.” He proposes. You hold up your mug to clink it against his, sealing the promise.
“Yeah, where’s your next stop on tour?” You silently lead him to the couch where the two of you continue to jabber. About his life, about yours, and about the two men you clarify, later on, are just your roommates.
“It’s purely platonic with us. In fact, there is nobody on my radar right now.”
“Oh,” Lewis mutters.
“Oh, what? Is that good or bad?”
“Oh as in…I hope we see each other again soon.” You tilt your head at him. “If no one’s on your radar right now I at least have a fighting chance with that cup of tea I owe ya.” He admits while a harsh red fire overcomes the apples of his cheeks.
“I think this cup of tea may have just put you in first place for potential suitors, Mr. Capaldi.” His eyebrows shoot up, interested. Invested. Determined.
“Well damn…now you got me wishing New York was my last stop.” He shakes his head, while you giggle and hide back an excited squeal all at once.
☆★☆★☆★☆★
“Awww….” Says Shawn, before his face morphs back into semi-disgust. “Wait, don’t tell me you two did it on the couch.”
“No!” You answer, slightly offended. “We decided we wouldn’t act on anything until he came back to New York. So, we didn’t see each other again until the interview he and Ni did a few months ago at Vanity Fair…”
☆★☆★☆★☆★
“Boo.” A voice behind your ear startles you away from the poppy seed muffin you were devouring with glutton. The sandy hair and freckles, after washing over you like an old song almost caused you to choke.
“Lewis!” Crumbs creep out of your mouth and latch onto your cheeks as you fly into his chest for a long-awaited hug. Keeping things friendly until his return was a difficult request for both of you to follow through with. Especially after trading numbers and sending several texts back and forth weekly, then daily. And some of those texts did not hold the most innocent intentions…
“Easy, dear. You’re gonna make me drop your prize.” He offers a loose hug in return, to not tip over the piping cup of tea occupying one of his hands.
“The tea…you remembered.” Part of you was impressed, as the two of you were fairly tipsy the night the promise was made. The tea is transferred from his hand to yours.
“How could I not? I needed some way to keep my first place in line for your potential suitors.” One of his eyelids droops lazily into a wink. “Speaking of which…” His palm, still warm from the tea and callus from guitar strings gently cups your chin, and his thumb comes up to sweep crumbs from your face. “Where do I currently stand?”
Before you could answer, the two of you were rudely interrupted by a familiar Irishman skipping over and reaching between the two of you to grab a tablet off the table.
“So, Assistant Producer Y/L/N, what activities do you have lined up for us today?” Niall quirks an eyebrow smugly, attempting to unlock the tablet holding the agenda for the video. Still flustered from Lewis’s previous actions, it takes a few seconds for you to clear your throat and muster a response.
“Nothing you need to know about until the cameras start rolling. But keep using the title, I like the sound of it.” You grin, embracing your new promotion to Assistant Producer at the Vanity Fair Studio. It was a long-awaited step-up, but so well worth it.
“Congratulations,” Lewis says, attempting to appear friendly. Neither man knew, but the day you got promoted, Lewis was the first person you called to break the news to. Niall and Shawn followed shortly after since they were concerned about the amount of screaming coming from your room for ten minutes straight. Once assuring your roommates your hollers were all out of excitement and sharing your new position with them, the three of you screamed for ten minutes more.
“Thanks,” Niall and Lewis were called to be in front of the cameras shortly after, while you followed with the tablet in your hand. You looked around for Laura, who typically allows you to follow and observe how she produces. When she is nowhere in sight, you immediately felt lost.
“Um…” you turn to whisper to the director. “Where’s Laura? She’s always on time.”
“She didn’t tell you?” The director inquires, shock covering his face. “She’s out with food poisoning. You’ll be filling in as head producer.” If you had any poppy seed remnants left in your mouth, now you would be choking on them.
“Me? A-all by myself?”
“Yeah, you’ll be fine. You’ve seen her do it a million times.” This is true. Laura’s even let you take the lead on some occasions, like giving the interviewees a run-down of the video and its purpose. She’s allowed you to call out some questions to the guests too. But running an entire interview on your own without her correcting you every step of the way is pressuring.
“O-okay,” is all you can utter before approaching Niall and Lewis. The sound guy has finished taping the mics to the two of them. You follow sound check procedures as well as give them a rundown of what the video entails. It is easy for Niall to grasp the concept, as he has seen Zac Efron’s and Lily Collins' videos with similar activities to the ones they’d be performing today. Throughout the video, you become paranoid that Niall is somehow catching on to you and Lewis being flirtatious with one another. You are unsure what drove him to talk you up to his pal, but he was taking every opportunity.
“So, how did you two meet?” You ask Niall, while Lewis stands behind the camera in comfortable proximity to you. A devious smirk crawls onto Niall’s face as he answers.
“My roommate introduced me to his music…I DM’ed him…and the rest is history.”
There was more to Niall’s answer than that, but that was all your ears could catch from Lewis’s stare burning into the side of your face.
One of Lewis's hands shields his mic as he leans close to your ear. “I’m guessin’ he isn’t talkin’ about Shawn.”
And when it came to trading compliments, Niall credited you for being the main interior designer for your shared apartment when Lewis acknowledged how he liked the inside of “Niall’s flat”
Lewis was no better in hiding his flirtatious nature from you.
“I’m not talkin’ about the furniture.”
And when it came time for the two men to share a long embrace, Lewis gave up completely on hiding his cheeky side.
“Tell me how the hug is for you.” You request.
Lewis replies without hesitation. “Yours is better, I can tell you that.”
☆★☆★☆★☆★
"You do give really good hugs." Shawn agrees with a thoughtful nod.
"Right?" Lewis pipes up from beside you.
“Anyways, after he left that second time, we decided a couple of weeks later that we didn’t want to stay just friends. Now that he’s back in town–”
“You could say we’ve been catching up,” Lewis interjects with a sly wiggle of his eyebrows. While you find it endearing, it makes Shawn hold back a gag.
“Yeah, I got that part.” He mutters distastefully. Right at this time is when heavy footsteps begin approaching your bedroom door, and send you and Lewis into a panic.
“Oh no.” You and Lewis mumble, clenching each other’s hands beneath the sheets.
“Oh no? Wait, you haven’t told Niall yet?” Shawn whispers, jutting his thumb back towards your cracked door.
“OF COURSE NOT!” You whisper back harshly. “I’m his roommate. He’s his best friend. If things don’t work out it’s gonna be awkward.”
“What’s going on here? Some secret meeting?” Niall’s voice becomes louder as he peeks his head through the doorway to see the back of Shawn’s head, and to the right of it, you and your boyfriend’s cowering figures beneath your bedsheets.
“Lewis…wait a minute–you two?” Niall points back and forth. You nod your head hesitantly, before Niall’s finger curls back into a fist that he pumps into the air victoriously. “YES! FINALLY!”
You and Lewis exchange a look of surprise. “You’re okay with this?” Lewis asks.
“Okay with it? I’m over the moon! I’ve been wanting this to happen since the two of you met at the bar. Why do you think I talked her up to ya so much over the phone before ya came?”
“Wait, you talked me up?” You look over to Lewis conspicuously, before turning back to face Niall. “What exactly did you say?”
☆★☆★☆★☆★
“So it’s just you and Shawn?” Lewis’s voice crackles over the phone pressed against Niall’s ear.
“Yup! Oh, and Y/N. You’ll like her. She’s nice.” Niall chuckles as he finishes buttoning up his shirt.
“Alright, mate. See ya in a bit.” The two depart from the phone call, and Niall looks at himself in the mirror, satisfied.
“Yes, you will.”
THE END

Our Story
Type: One shot about Shawn Mendes Rating: Rated PG Word Count: 4400+ Enjoy!
It was early in the morning when she woke up, it was before the sun had risen. Her four-year-old was crying and she knew he needed her. She rushed into his room and cradled him in her arms. Kissing his forehead as he cried against her chest.
"Another nightmare?" she asked.
"Yes," he rubbed his eyes.
"It's not real, baby," she said as she rocked him in her arms.
"But it happened mommy," he said.
"Shhh baby," She said.
She finally got him to calm down and back to sleep. She made her way downstairs and started her coffee maker. It was nearly 5 am so she decided to stay up. She made her cup of coffee and sat down at the table, taking a few sips as she waited for her computer to load. She scrolled through her social media for a few moments before turning her attention to the job search. She noticed that there was an audition for a backup dancer but the artist was disclosed.
"Ok so today at 2 pm, guess I have to take Jackson with me" she nodded as she took a sip of her coffee.
She added her name to the list of dancers for this afternoon and shut her computer down. She was always a dancer growing up but falling pregnant at just 19 killed her dream. Jackson wasn't planning but when she found out she was pregnant she thought it would be full of love. Since she was in such an amazing relationship, she thought everything would work out. She shook her head as she started to think about the past. The tears were building up in her eyes, she sighed as her tears slipped down her cheek.
"Momma?" Jackson asked as he walked into the kitchen.
"Hey baby" she wiped her cheeks before picking him up. "What do you want for breakfast?" she asked.
"Waffles," he said.
"Ok baby," she said as she placed him onto the floor, turning her attention to cooking.
She cooked breakfast for them both and placed it on his high chair before placing him in the high chair. They ate their breakfast and went on with their day. Around 1 pm she got Jackson and herself ready for the audition. She placed him in the car seat and got into the car. They were off to the audition, she parked and went inside with Jackson.
"Can I put him in this room until after the audition?" she asked.
"Of course, you can," the lady nodded.
"Thank you," she said. "I'm Emma," She said.
"Emma McKenna?" The lady asked. "I've heard so much about you, it's a shame you gave up dancing," she said.
"I didn't give up dancing, just timing," Emma nodded. "In room 3?" Emma asked.
"Yea room 3" the lady nodded.
Emma nodded and went into room 3. She took her number and went back to the back of the room. She took a few deep breaths trying to calm her nerves. She could hear a familiar voice coming down the hallway. She swallowed hard hoping it wasn't who she thought it was. Shawn walked into the room and his eyes landed right on her. She looked up and locked eyes with him, she was frozen.
"Shawn comes on, let's start," Shawn's friend said.
"Hold up," Shawn said as he put his hand up. "Emma?" Shawn said.
"Wait, Emma?" Shawn's friend said. "The girl who disappeared," he said.
"Yea that girl," Shawn said as his eyes were locked on Emma.
"This was a mistake" Emma finally snapped back. Walking out of the room and rushed to the room where she left Jackson.
"Whoa wait," Shawn said as he rushed after her.
She was rushing to get to the room and she accidentally went into Shawn's dressing room. He followed her and closed the door so they could be alone.
"Emma?" Shawn said.
"Where is Jackson, ugh I think I went into the wrong room," She said as she turned to face him.
"Who's Jackson?" Shawn asked. "Can we talk?" he asked.
"I need to go," She said.
"Emma" Shawn said as he grabbed her arm. "Can we talk?" he asked.
"Talk about what, Shawn?" She asked as she finally looked at him.
"What happened to you? You just disappeared nearly 4 years ago" he said.
"I didn't disappear Shawn YOU dropped me," she said.
"Who gave you that crazy idea?" he asked. "I was searching for you," he said.
"Yea cut the bullshit Shawn" she crossed her arms.
"I'm serious Emma, you were the most important person in my life, and then all of a sudden you left," he said.
"You wanted me gone," she said. "So I wouldn't hold you back" she looked away.
"Who told you that?" he asked as he tilted her chin up so she was looking at him.
"Your management team," she said.
"What?" Shawn asked. "I'm not with that team anymore. What did they say?" he asked.
"Let me go pleased," she said as she pulled away from him.
She left the room and he followed her into the room where Jackson was. She got him ready to leave and that's when Shawn realizes that Emma left because she was pregnant.
"He's mine isn't he?" Shawn asked.
"Shawn" She looked at him.
"Isn't he?" Shawn asked again.
"Yes," she said softly.
"That's why they ran you away, that's why you disappeared," he said.
She looked down as she fought the tears back but they slipped from her eyes onto her cheeks. Shawn tried to step closer to her but she wiped her eyes and picked up Jackson. She pushed by Shawn and left the building, getting into her car and leaving. Shawn just stood at the door and watched her disappear again.
"That guy is checking you out," Nicole said.
"Who?" Emma asked as she looked around, spotting Shawn in the crowd.
"That guy," Nicole said.
"He's cute" Emma chuckled slightly.
"Yea he is and he's checking you out," Nicole said as she nudged Emma towards Shawn.
"I'm going" Emma smiled as she walked over to where Shawn was at.
"Well hello," Shawn smiled.
"Hello," Emma said.
"So dreams do come true," he said.
"Excuse me?" Emma asked.
"I've been watching you and was hoping we would run into each other," he said.
"Oh," Emma nodded. "So you are a creep?" She asked.
"Oh of course not," Shawn said. "That came out wrong," he said.
"Yea I think it did," She said.
"Can we go somewhere quiet?" Shawn said. "I promise I'm not a creep," he said.
"Sure" She nodded as she looked at him.
He gently grabbed her hand and led her out of the club. They walked down the street before he pulled her towards the woods. She let go of his hand and followed him but kept a few feet back. Just in case she needed to get away, she would have a few feet to do so. He led her down to a pond and turned to look at her.
"Not what I was expecting," She said.
"Thought I was going to kill you?" He chuckled slightly. "I still could," he said.
"Maybe I should rethink this," she said as she turned.
"I'm joking, please stay," he said as he reached out, touching her arm slightly.
"But I'm keeping my distance," she said as she sat down close to the water.
"Ok" he nodded as he sat beside her but kept a distance between them.
"Ok so you look like someone I've met before '' she said.
"But I would remember meeting you," he said. "But I do videos on vine, you might have heard of it," he said.
"Oh yeah that's where I've seen you before" she nodded.
They continued talking and before they knew it the sun was setting. It was getting dark pretty quickly. He made sure she got home safe and they exchanged numbers. Over the coming weeks, there was plenty of text between the two. They just couldn't ever figure out a day where they could see each other. He decided to show up at her school and surprise her. He was standing out front with a bouquet of roses, just waiting for her.
"Look at that guy," Nicole said.
"Who?" Emma asked.
"That guy standing with the flowers," Nicole said as she linked arms with Emma.
"That's Shawn and you knew that" Emma smiled as she playfully pushed Nicole.
"Of course I knew it was him, go get him," Nicole said.
"Uh huh," Emma said as she rolled her eyes and walked toward Shawn.
"Hey," Shawn said.
"Hey, you" She smiled as she took the flowers before hugging him.
"I just wanted to see you," he whispered in her ear.
"Well here I am," she said.
"Yea here you are" he smiled as he kissed her cheek softly.
"So where are you taking me?" she questioned.
"Have an actual first date" he smiled as he opened the door for her.
"Oh really?" She looked at him and got into the car.
"Yea cant allow your impression of me to be some 'creep' from the bar" he joked.
"Uh-huh," she giggled slightly.
He got into the car on the other side before the driver pulled off. They started talking while on the way to where he was taking her. They pulled up to a mini golf place, he got out of the car and opened the door for her. He offered his hand as she got out of the car, she grabbed his hand and smiled. He laced their fingers together as they walked inside. He paid for their balls and clubs, grabbing a scoring card before returning to her.
"So we are seeing who wins?" she asked.
"I thought it would be fun," he smiled.
"Well, I don't know how to play" she pouted as they made their way to the first hole.
"I can show you," he said.
She nodded as she placed the ball on the ground. He stood behind her, wrapping his arms around her. He guided her arm to swing back and hit the ball. She leaned back against him, taking in his warmth and smell. He kissed the top of her head and slowly let her go. She moved and allowed him to take his turn. He also hit a hole in one, and they continued on the course. He slowly realized that she was better at the game than she let on. When it was his turn she would do cute things to distract him, all is fun in love and war, right?
"Oops" she smiled as she bent over, tying her shoe.
"Uh-huh," he chuckled as he watched her, not watching where he was hitting the ball. Missing the hole altogether.
"Watch what you are doing" she smiled as she walked off.
"You are going to be the death of me" he smiled as they continued to play.
They finally finished the game and of course, she was the winner. He returned the equipment and grabbed her hand. He led her inside. They grabbed a seat and looked over the menu.
"Let me guess what you are going to get," He said.
"Sure" she looked at him.
"The chicken tenders," he said.
"Nope," she looked at him. "I'm getting the pizza and breadsticks" she smiled.
"Oh a girl who knows what she wants," he said.
"Of course, come sit next to me," she said.
He moved to sit next to her, placing his arm around her shoulders. She leaned in against his chest as they looked over the menu. Finally, the waiter came to the table and they placed their order. She played with his fingers as they talked.
"I was wondering about something," she said.
"And what is that?" he asked.
"Would you come to my graduation?" she asked.
"If you want me there, then I'm there" he looked at her.
"I would like that," she nodded.
"I'll put it in my schedule," he said.
"Thank you" she looked at him.
He placed his hand against her chin, locking eyes with her. He slightly leaned in allowing her to lean in if she wanted to. She leaned in as well, their lips touching slightly. He leaned in more and deepened the kiss, as she grabbed his shirt keeping him close. She gently pulled away by pulling his bottom lip, resting her forehead against his. He leaned in and kissed her softly once again. The food finally arrived and they ate in silence. Once they finished eating they played a few games in the arcade before leaving. He told the driver to take them back to his place.
"Unless you want to go home," he asked.
"I would love to spend more time with you," she said as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Ok," he smiled as he leaned in, kissing her softly.
She kept the kiss between them, placing her hand against his chest. He wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her closer to him. Soon they were pulling up to his place. He got out and went around to her side, opening the door for her. She grabbed his hand and got out of the car, following him inside.
"Nice house," she said.
"Thanks" he smiled as he led her to his bedroom.
"Can I ask a question?" she asked.
"Sure," he said as he sat down on the bed.
"Do you think Vine will get you a singing career?" she asked.
"I don't know for sure, it's just a fun thing to do at the moment," he said.
"True" she nodded as she sat next to him.
"So I have plenty of movies, Netflix so what do you want to watch?" he asked.
"Let's watch love and honor," Emma said.
"Sounds good, put it on and I'll get snacks," he said as he walked out of the room.
She put on the movie and started it when he returned. He placed the snacks on the bed as they cuddled up, and he wrapped a blanket around them both. She snuggled close to him, resting her head against his shoulder as they watched the movie.
"So what about your prom?" he whispered as he rubbed her back.
"What about it?" she asked.
"Can I take you?" he asked.
"You would want to?" she looked up at him.
"Sure" he kissed her forehead softly.
"It's next Saturday," she said.
"What color is your dress?" he asked.
"It's a blue color, like royal blue," she said as she played with his hand.
"Ok," he said.
They returned their focus to the movie. He was running his hand through her hair as they watched. Soon enough she was fast asleep against his chest. He smiled down at her as he realized that she was asleep. He turned the tv off and pulled the blanket over her more. Softly kissed her forehead before he started to drift off to sleep. In the morning he woke up and she was still asleep against his chest. He eased off the bed making sure not to wake her up. He made his way to the bathroom, to take a leak and brush his teeth. He finally made it downstairs where his friend was in the kitchen.
"Hey mate," Shawn said. "You are here early," he said.
"Who is she?" Shawn's friend asked.
"Who's who?" Shawn asked.
"That girl in your bed," his friend said.
"Why does it matter, Jordan?" Shawn asked.
"Because when you make it big, she will hold you back," Jordan said.
"That's not your concern," Shawn said.
"So you think she can handle this lifestyle?" Jordan asked.
"I'm not even sure I can handle it," Shawn said. "Leave Emma out of this," He said.
"I will if you do!" Jordan.
"I like her so it's my decision, I'll handle it," Shawn said.
"Uh huh," Jordan rolled his eyes.
Shawn finished up in the kitchen when Emma started coming down the stairs. She hugged him, wrapping her arms around his waist. Leaning her head against his chest as he wrapped his arms around her. He gently rubbed her back as he looked down at her. She leaned up and kissed him softly, he smiled against her lips.
"I could get used to this," he whispered.
"I could too" she smiled.
"I was going to bring you breakfast," he said.
"AWW thank you," she said. "What did you make?" she asked.
"Waffles of course and fruit," he said. "What fruit do you like?" he asked.
"Raspberries" she looked at him.
"Then raspberries it is then" he went into the refrigerator to get the berries.
"I'm telling you bad news," Jordan said as he walked out of the kitchen.
"Who was that? and what is bad news?" Emma asked.
"That's a NOBODY and needs to mind his BUSINESS," Shawn said.
"Ok" Emma nodded and kept quiet.
She sat down at the table as he placed the plates down onto the table. He sat down next to her as she started to eat. Once they finished eating he quickly cleaned up as she gathered her things. He made sure she got home safe, making sure she entered her home before pulling away. Of course, she had plenty of questions to answer when she entered the house. She made quick work of the questions before rushing upstairs. Over the next week, she stayed focused on school work, making sure she was going to ace all of her classes. She would sneak Shawn through her window at night time, just so they could spend some time together. Shawn made sure he was ready for her prom, getting a matching tie.
"So who are you going to prom with?" Nicole asked as they were in Emma's room getting ready.
"Shawn" Emma smiled to herself as she said his name.
"That guy from the bar? Isn't he like 25?" Nicole asked.
"No he's only 19," Emma said. "We have been hanging out and I like him," She said.
"I'm glad you found someone who makes you happy but be careful," Nicole said.
"Of course," Emma said as she slipped her dress on.
"Wow," Nicole said.
"Oh hush it," Emma said as she started to blush.
"Shawn's jaw is going to drop when he sees you," Nicole said.
"You think?" She asked.
"Yes I'm sure of it" Nicole smiled.
"Emma? Nicole? The boys are here" Emma's mom yelled out.
"We are coming," Emma said as she fixed her hair. "Ready?" she asked.
"Let's go," Nicole said as she snaked her arm with Emma's.
They came downstairs together, Shawn's face lit up once he saw Emma. He took a step forward reaching his hand out to help her down the stairs. She grabbed his hand as she finished walking down the stairs. She pinned the lapel on his jacket as he slipped the corsage on her wrist.
"You look beautiful," he whispered into her ear.
"Thank you" she kissed his cheek softly.
"Ok get together for pictures," Emma's mom said.
"But only a few, we don't want to be late," Emma said as she stood with Shawn.
Her mom took plenty of pictures and Emma had to pull everyone away so they could make it on time. They all got into the limo and they were off to the prom.
"So what are your intentions with my best friend?" Nicole asked.
"Hopefully spending a lifetime with her" Shawn smiled as he laced Emma's fingers with his.
"Wasn't expecting that" Nicole said.
"I wasn't either," Emma said.
"Well it's true," Shawn said as he picked up her hand, kissing the back of it.
"I hope I get to spend a lifetime with you," she said.
They arrived at the prom and got out of the limo. As Shawn and Emma walked in there were whispers, no one believed Emma when she said she had a date. She was more of a loner in school, she just liked keeping to herself. She always thought if she kept to herself then no one could talk about her private life. Mainly all night Shawn and Emma were on the dance floor, just enjoying the night.
"Let's sit down for a moment," he said.
"Ok," she nodded and followed him over to the table.
"Come here," he said as he sat down, pulling her onto his lap.
"Girl you are the talk of the school," Nicole said as she sat down.
"Wait what?" Emma asked.
"No one believed you had a date and you showed up with him, girl you are the talk right now," Nicole said.
"Oh," She nodded.
"You ok?" Shawn asked.
"Yea I'm ok," Emma said.
"It's not bad, I promise," Nicole said.
"It's ok," Emma said as she leaned back against Shawn.
"So what are you guys doing after prom?" Nicole asked.
"Probably go home," She said.
"I have a hotel room booked, only if you want to," Shawn said.
"Oh I didn't know, I would love to," She said as she looked at him.
"It was a surprise," he nodded.
"What time do you want to get out of here?" she asked.
"Whenever you want to" he looked at her.
"It's nearly midnight and I'll turn back into a pumpkin, so whisk me away my prince" she smiled.
"Your chariot awaits," he said as she stood up.
"Show me the way," she said as she grabbed his hand.
"Have fun you two" Nicole said as they left.
He guided her out of the school and back to the limo and went to the hotel. He checked in at the front desk and got the room key. He grabbed her hand and led her to the elevator.
"This is a nice hotel," Emma said.
"Yea it is," he said. "Did you have fun?" he questioned.
"I was about to ask you that," she smiled. "Yes I did have fun," she said as she entered the elevator.
"I did as well," he said as he followed her. He stood behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist.
"I'm glad you enjoyed yourself," she said as she placed her hand over his.
"I always enjoy myself when I'm with you," he said.
They finally arrived at the floor, he walked to the room as she followed him. He opened the door allowing her to enter first before walking inside. He closed the door, making sure it was locked before watching her. She slipped off her shoes and sat on the bed, turning her attention to him standing at the door.
"I didn't bring a change of clothes," she pouted.
"I got it covered, in the bathroom, there is an oversize shirt and some clean underwear," he said.
"You surely are a gentleman," she said as she made her way over to him.
"I do try to make everyone happy," he said as he placed his hands on her hips.
"I see and do you make yourself happy?" she asked as she rested her hand on his chest.
"I'm happy when the people I care about are happy," He said before leaning down and kissing her softly.
She smiled against his lips before kissing him back. She slowly pulled away and made her way into the bathroom. She quickly got changed and came back into the room. He had also changed and got comfortable on the bed. She made her way onto the bed, moving over the top of him. He placed his hands on her hips as she sat down on his lap. She leaned down and kissed him softly, tugging at his bottom lip. He leaned up slightly to keep the kiss, grabbing the back of her neck. She pulled away from him resting her forehead against his. He pushed his hips up, putting her on the bed. Moving between her legs as he kissed her softly, slowly moving down to her neck.
"I'm sorry," she said as she looked away. "I'm pretty tired," she said,
"That's ok," he said as he lay beside her.
She snuggled close to him, resting her head against his chest. They both started to drift off to sleep. In the morning she woke up to the sound of the shower. She got out of bed and peeped around the bathroom door.
"Mind if I join you?" she asked.
"Sure," he said as he opened the curtain.
She got undressed and got into the shower with him. He moved her in front of him so she was under the water, and they both washed each other. He gently pushed her against the wall, moving his lips against her neck. She rubbed his chest as she leaned her head back, moaning as he moved down to her collarbone. Before he could move down further both his and her phone started to go off. She sighed as she got out of the shower, wrapping a towel around herself. He always got out and wrapped a towel around himself before making his way to the bedroom. They both answered the phone, he went into the bathroom to answer his as she answered her. They both got dressed and left the hotel room, he made sure she got home safe before going to deal with some business. It seemed like after prom time moved very quickly, before Emma knew it, it was graduation day. She was beyond nervous and super busy that morning. Her parents took her downtown to where graduation was being held, she joined her classmates as they waited. After what felt like a lifetime they finally walked into the room and started graduation. There was plenty of talking and tears before diplomas were handed out. All of a sudden there was screaming breaking out in the crowd, everyone was confused about what was going on. Emma spotted Shawn entering the building when a bunch of girls were surrounding him and screaming. A few days before graduation Shawn's vine video went viral and he was signed to a major record label. When Emma saw how girls were throwing themselves at Shawn and screaming. She realized that her life with Shawn wouldn't be a normal one. She even started to question if Shawn would still want her since he was becoming famous. Would he forget about her? What would become of their relationship? She sighed and looked down as security escorted Shawn out of the building and graduation started back up.

Who’s (Y/f/n) (Y/l/n) Dating Now?
(Y/f/n) (y/l/n) has been in the spotlight since she was 15 so it’s no surprise her relationships have been as well. From first love to whirlwind romance , we’ve seen it all from the singing sensation. She’s mainly been in serious relationships, but the lineup is impressive.
Shawn Mendes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Y/l/n) and Mendes came into the spotlight around the same time. The pair met, instantly hit it off, and became the new young Hollywood “it” couple. They dated for three years from 2014-2017 and wrote a few of their hit songs about each other. (Y/f/n)’s song ‘Dandelions’ on her debut album is about Mendes. The love wasn’t one sided though, as Mendes reveled many of his love songs were about (y/l/n). After winning an American Music Award, Mendes said, “All of my songs are about her, so this award is as much hers as it is mine, she’s my inspiration.
We loved watching their young love romance evolve, but the two split in early 2017. (Y/f/n) discussed the breakup on the Jimmy Fallon show. “We just realized we were growing apart and going in different directions, but he will always hold a special place in my heart as my first love and no can ever replace that.”
Harry Styles
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The British singer is (y/l/n)’s longest and most high profile relationship. The two began dating at the end of 2017 and remained together for four years before breaking things off. Their love caught the attention of the world and had many talking. It’s believed Styles hit song, Adore you is about (y/l/n) before they were official.
The couple raised the bar for relationships. Harry took (y/f/n) on a vacation to Greece for her 21st birthday. Which she followed up by throwing him a massive surprise party with all of his close friends and family. When asked about their relationship in an interview (y/l/n) said, “Harry is the type of boyfriend girls dream of. He loves me so well and he wears his heart on his sleeves which is beautiful.”
The breakup came as a surprise to many as it seemed the couple was going strong. It didn’t last for long though as they got back together at the end of 2022 before finally calling it quits mid 2023. Neither have revealed why they split, but both have remained consistent and committed to supporting each other.
Michael B. Jordan
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
During her brief break with Harry, (y/f/n) dated Creed actor, Michael B. Jordan. Despite the 11 year age gap the couple had a lot in common and spent plenty of special occasions together. Jordan helped her celebrate her 24th birthday where we got their most infamous pictures together as a couple.
The relationship lasted 10 months before they broke up and (y/l/n) was back with Styles. Despite the sudden end Jordan had only good things to say, “She’s an amazing, hardworking woman who deserves all the success she’s had.”
Auston Matthews
Tumblr media
The newest boyfriend on the list may be NHL superstar, Auston Matthews. An insider reveals they saw Matthews and (y/l/n) at a bar together in Toronto. They were with a group of friends including Justin and Hailey Bieber, but the two seemed particularly close. The pair was also spotted leaving together at the end of the night. While nothing is confirmed, we could definitely get behind this match.

We were staying in Paris
Tumblr media
Shawn Mendes x female reader
Warning ⚠️: mostly fluff, maybe grammar error and maybe some punctuation errors
Word count:~500
A/N: The story idea and concept are classic and predictable; your girl just couldn’t help but write something inspired by this picture. Also, it’s three weeks late; better late than never? And this is my first story in 2024? 🙈 P.S. Should I write a longer and maybe some more steamy story with this picture? 🤪
——//
In the heart of Paris, in a hotel room with a balcony overlooking the city that served as the backdrop for a love story as it was unfolding in the early hours of dawn. You lay nestled in the warmth of the bed beside your boyfriend as your fingers intertwined with his. As the first tendrils of sunlight filtered through the curtains, Shawn stirred awake, his eyes blinking open to the soft glow of morning.
He savoured the moment's stillness a little while before gently extricating himself from the embrace, slipping out of bed, and heading to the bathroom. The cool floor beneath his bare feet offers a refreshing contrast to the warmth of the bed. He was going to return to bed, but instead, he made his way to the balcony, drawn by the promise of a tranquil morning amidst the bustling city below.
As he leaned against the railing, taking in the breathtaking view before him, he couldn't help but marvel at the beauty of the Parisian skyline bathed in the soft hues of dawn. The Eiffel Tower stood tall and majestic in the distance, a precious sight. Lost in thought, he reached for a cigarette, the flame casting a flickering glow on his face as he took a contemplative drag.
Unbeknownst to him, you had stirred awake in his absence, your gaze lingering on the spot where he had once laid.
There you were, quietly making your way to the balcony, and you found him lost in reverie with the smoke curling around him like a halo in the morning light. With a soft throat clearing, you announced your presence, a playful glint dancing in your eyes.
"Good morning, stranger," You greeted, voice laced with amusement as you wrapped your arms around him from behind.
A little startled, he turned to find you standing before him, a radiant smile lighting up her features as he leaned in for a kiss.
"Good morning, ma chÃrie," He greeted back before discarding his cigarette and nestling closer. It didn’t take long for his eyes to linger around you, and eventually falling upon the shirt you were wearing, a mischievous twinkle lighting up his gaze, “I believe that’s my shirt.”
"Oh yeah, I hope you don't mind," You began, fingers tracing the fabric of the shirt, "I may have borrowed this from you,” You continued slyly as your lips curled into a grin as he took in the sight of you wearing his shirt, the fabric draping over your frame in a way that seemed almost too perfect.
"Shirt stealer," he remarked, his voice tinged with sincerity as he reached out to tuck a loose strand of hair behind your ear.
Moments later, as the sun continued its ascent, casting a golden glow over the city, you both remained on the balcony, lost in each other's embrace and the beauty of the Parisian sunrise.
"By the way, I'm never returning this shirt,” You added, breaking the silence with a mischievous grin.
In response, Shawn just chuckled, his eyes sparkling with affection, “Thank you for letting me know," he replied, pulling  you closer than before, “But It looks better on you anyway."

SMUT!! IF YOU DON'T LIKE DON'T READ.
I sit on the bed in the guest room across from Shawn's room and his friends rooms down the corridor at 1am, watching TikTok on my phone. I have so much horny shit on my for you page of Shawn right now and not gonna lie it turns me kinda on.
I watch another 10 minutes and have enough of it. There are so many edits. I’m so horny now. I can’t help it. I don’t want to masturbate though I just wanna hear this sounds from a boy right now. And there I am, standing in front of Shawn’s door. I don‘t know why I’m even here. We’re only friends but I never was this horny in my life. I knock on the door, hoping he’s awake. I only here a „yeah?“ and open the door.
He watches up from his phone, into my eyes. He sits on the edge of the bed, phone in his hand and purple LED‘s on. I just stand in the door, looking at him.
„What do you want at 1am?“ he chuckled slightly. I go over to him, so I’m standing right in front of his face. He looks up at me, confused. „What are you-“ „stay still.“ I cut him off and go on my knees unbutton his pants. „doing..“ he ends his sentence after he realises what I’m going to do and slightly spreads his legs for me. Before he could say something, I shove his pants down and his boxers follow. Honestly his dick is bigger than I thought. He’s half-hard now, so I go up to his face, looking him in the eyes. With wide eyes he looks at me, still don’t know why I’m doing this. „I-uhm-“ he doesn’t know what he should say. I go to his neck, sucking on him.
He lets out a quiet gasp, turning me on a little more. I go to his earlobe, licking and sucking on it too. He slightly whimpers at that, cuts it off by clearing his throat. ‚okay, that’s what he likes’ I thought. I give his earlobe one last suck, then going down to his dick again, what is fully hard now.
I give it a small lick, making him gasp louder. Without warning, I take his whole length in my mouth, making him moan. „Fuck y/n..“ i go up again, putting my tongue in his slit. He whimpers and tugs his hand in my hair. I go down again, and he tightens the grip on my hair, making me groan slightly. I give him a few more sucks, hands on his thighs. He is moaning louder now, giving me the hint he’s close. „F-fu-uck, please. You’re so good at this” he tried not to let out a whimper during the sentence. He’s so close now, pre-cum already all over my tongue.
I swallow it, making my throat tighten, and he groans at that. He moves his hips up, trying to put more of him in my mouth even if I already have his whole length in my throat. “Fuck! I’m gonna-“ he cuts himself off. I go off of his dick “you gonna what? Tell me.” He looks down at me. He looks so good in this angle oh god. “I-I can’t.“ he has a red face, embarrassed to say it. I stroke him with my hand slowly, making him throw his head back and whimper. „You’re not gonna cum until you say it.“
„Shit. I- I’m gonna - cum. I’m gonna cum for you.“ he finally says. „good boy.” I tell him before I put my mouth around him again. He moans a little louder that he should at this. His roommates are at home but I think he doesn’t care at all right now. He moaned a few more times, god I can hear this sounds all the time. “mmmhh that feels good..” “I’m gonna cum.. oh my god” he gasps. I go down again, and he shoots his load in my mouth, making me moan because of his taste. Oh, the flavour of him tastes so fucking good. He whines moans and gasps when he comes. I love his sounds. I slowly go off of his dick, making him whine one more time. I stand up and go to his face. Without warning I smash my lips into his. He’s shocked at first but then kisses me back.
I put my tongue in when he slightly opens his mouth. He moans when I put my tongue deeper in his mouth. I moan back, then break the kiss. He then opens his eyes and looks at me a little embarrassed. „Like the taste of you?“ I smirk at him and he nods slightly. „I'm gonna go back to my room, good night“ I say and smile at him. „Goodnight“ he said and smiled back. I go out of his room, back into the guest room. God, how I loved the sounds he made. We’re still friends and I don‘t know what will happen in the morning, if it will be embarrassing, but I don’t care right now. We will see.
this is so bad my apologies honestly i cannot write fanfics

Thinking of you
Tumblr media
Shawn Mendes x Female reader
Summary: The reader receives a gift from Shawn while he is away on a guy's trip.
Warning(s):  SEX TOYS MASTURBATION
a/n: I had so much fun writing this piece. I think it's my best work so far. Remember to reblog if you want to see more stuff like this. Don’t be afraid to comment. 🫶✨
The constant ringing of your phone wakes you up. You disconnect it from its charger and roll to the other side of the bed. You have two missed calls from Shawn and decide to call him back. Just in case something happened.
*Phone rings*
“Good. You’re awake” a brisk voice answers the phone. Causing you to instantly blush of how excited he sounded just to hear back from you. “Hey babe, is everything alright?” you respond to the cheerful guy. “Yes. Everything is alright. I just got a little anxious going into the airport, but I felt better when Mike arrived.” You could tell he was trying to mask how anxious he really got. “Airports are anxiety inducing. I totally get it.” you say trying to validate his feelings. “Yeah. Thank you, y/n. Anyways, I ordered a little something for you. It should be at the door any minute now.” he says. “Mmm… I wonder what it could be.” you respond jokingly.
After a little while of talking on the phone with Shawn. You get an alert on your phone from the outdoor security camera detecting movement. “It's here” you tell Shawn who is still on the phone with you. You proceed to put him on speaker and head to the door. When you opened it you didn't expect what you were seeing. It was a picnic basket with a bouquet of red carnations wrapped in brown kraft paper. Inside laid a beautiful plate of chocolate waffles with strawberries on top and just beside it there was a small pink bag with sparkly tissue paper.
You struggle getting the basket inside without it tumbling to the ground. Shawn is laughing at the sound of you grunting trying to lift the basket onto the kitchen counter. “Babe, stop laughing. If you make me laugh my arms get even more weak.” you comment laughing. “I’ll stop. Damn… I really miss you.” you could tell he was telling the truth from the change in his tone. “Do you see a little bag?” he asks. “Yes. I am opening it now.” The tissue paper ruffles as you take it out of the bag revealing the inside. “Omg! Shawn!” you scream.
You take the item out. You feel your face getting instantly red. “I wish I could see your face right now.” He responds playfully. You’ve never owned a toy before of any shape or form…not even vibrating panties. Well, there is clearly a first time for everything.
“Umm… Should I put them on?” you ask him nervously. “Yes, but first I am switching to FaceTime.” The phone rings changing into FaceTime. You answer the phone and place it leaning on a vase in your kitchen counter. This way Shawn could get a good view of everything. The black laced fabric tickles your soft skin as you put them on. “Oh- they look so good on you.” he says as he comes into view. His hands flew to rest on his head. “I love how you look with just a top and panties.” he says, biting his lip.
You feel so good when he talks that way about you. You love when he reassures you.
“Doesn't this need a remote?” you ask him. “Yes, I have it…It’s an app on my phone so I can control it at anytime, anywhere. Saying this, I want you to wear them all day.”  he responds with a smirk on his face. “You are so bad” you respond. “Look, I have to go now, but please don’t take them off, okay?” he says. “Okay. Bye. I love you” you respond. “I love you.” he says as he hangs up.
The fact of having to wear this all day knowing that it could go off at any given moment gave you massive anxiety. You needed to get some stuff done for the apartment before Shawn came back from the guy’s trip, so you went to the grocery store. You threw on some sweatpants and one of his baggy white shirts to try and disguise the fact that there is a bullet sized vibrator inside your panties.
Arriving at the grocery store everything is running smoothly. He still hasn't activated it. At this point you thought it was all a joke and he really wasn't going to do anything. He probably wanted you to die of anticipation or embarrassment. You proceed to cross things off your list. This was going to take a while because you took the shopping cart with the bad wheel. Every movement you made a squeak followed.
You found yourself at the cereal aisle when a subtle buzz started coming from your pants. “Oh- fuck.” you said out loud. The old lady next to you stared at you with a serious face. “These prices are crazy right?” you said to her trying to hide that your man was having a field day in your pants. Shawn was going crazy with the buttons, alternating from slow to fast. You can’t deny it felt so good, but this can’t be happening right now. Not at the grocery store. You grab the cereal and sprint to the cash register to pay for the few items you crossed off.
Luckily there weren't a lot of people in line. You crossed your legs and acted like you really needed to pee. Hopefully, this would help you distract yourself.
You finally paid for everything, grabbed the bags and fast walked to your car. “God. Fuck.” you screamed getting into your car. You rested your head on the steering wheel to hide your face from the people walking up and down the parking lot as you came in your panties. “Wtf?!” you said laughing. You grabbed your phone to text Shawn.
Phone messages read:
Shawn: How was it?
y/n: I came in my car at the grocery store parking lot.
Shawn: Baby, you are so bad.
y/n: Shut up! I love you.

Tumblr media
You loved Shawn so much. You have been his girlfriend for 19 months now and now as you remembered how you had met, you laughed hysterically. You met him at an art exhibition, where he came, disguised in a black hoodie, a cap, and a mask. You had run into him while staring at the paintings on the wall, and almost screamed when you saw him like that. At first, you thought he was a thief or something, and seeing you freak out, he thought you had recognized him. So he had quickly pulled you aside and made you calm down.
You remembered the way you were so confused when he said that you knew who he was and he begged you to not tell anybody. But seeing your confused face, he pulled down his mask-making your mouth shut and your eyes wide. Honestly, you weren't a big fan of him back at that time, you never liked pop so you never even knew him as such. But you had heard of him from your friends and knew very well just who he was and why he had pulled you aside. When you had figured out just what had happened and the misunderstanding, you laughed out loud. Too loud.
He had raised his eyebrows and stared at you as you held your stomach as you laughed, which you knew was a not-so-beautiful sight. "What? Are you those insane kinds?" He had asked to which you stopped laughing and shook your head, looking at him disapprovingly. He didn't have a right to call people insane or judge them like that. So you gave him a piece of your mind and left him staring at you like an antelope in headlights. When you were looking at a mind-blowing piece of painting, he stood beside you, his disguise intact. He had said something clever and cocky and then after a small pause, apologized to you. You smiled at his sweet apology and the small smile he had delivered you. You were suddenly feeling this weird feeling in your chest.
And well, that's when you started hanging out more. After two coffees, a walk to the library, and a guitar session he had finally kissed you and asked you out. You were so happy, and till now everything was going great.
Well now...
You were a bit concerned about Shawn. He had been a bit distant and had canceled your last three dates. You already knew the obstacles that were going to come along with dating a celebrity such as him. You knew he was busy with his album and he had been getting a lot of hate, and you understood that he needed space. But you just wanted him to know that you were there for him.
You were waiting for him at your home, watching another episode of B99, and drinking coffee. When you heard the door opening, your head quickly turned, and you got up, slowly walking towards the door. There he was, your Shawn, coming in hanging his keys and hanging his coat. He looked so exhausted.
You sighed and walked towards him, taking his face in your hands as a yawn came across his lips. He quickly shook it off as he felt your soft hands caressing his cheeks. "Oh hi." He said and gave you a lop-sided and a sleepy smile. "You're still awake?" He said, his brows scrunching. You chuckled softly and brought his face towards yours and gave him a peck. "I missed you," You said softly, "and I hadn't seen you in a few days."
"What?" He said, his voice laced with a bit of aggravation. "We just had breakfast yesterday, together." You sighed a bit and stepped away from me. "You know what I mean,"
"No I don't!"
"Well, a bite of toast, a kiss to my forehead, and telling me you're going to be late and getting out of the house in less than 30 seconds, when I made bacon and pancakes for you is not having breakfast together."
Shawn groaned and stormed off, making your blood boil. You breathed in sharply and walked after him, "What the hell Shawn!?" Shawn rolled his eyes and plopped down on your couch, a small smirk passing his face for a second when he heard the title track of B99 playing on the TV. "You can't just walk away like that!"
"Well, guess what? I did!"
Your teeth gritted and you gave him a murderous look. You didn't like how Shawn was behaving with you, this is not how he acted with you. And you hated it. Didn't he realize that he was hurting you? "You know what? Fuck you." You stormed off to your bedroom, and took his pillow and his quilt and threw it across the room in the hall. "HEY!" You slammed the bedroom door and groaned out loudly.
You did not plan your night to go this way.
You sat on the bed, looking at the light that came from the living room through the small space between the door and the floor.
You sighed, your chest thudding loudly. Hugging your knees close to your chest, and you let out a shuddering breath, as a tear fell from your eye. You shook your head at your ridiculousness, and wiped your tear. It was confusing to you why you were being so emotional over this fight. It seemed small, didn't it?
But it wasn't.
This wasn't how you wanted your fights to go, fights that would lead you both to drift apart, and eventually, your relationship would fall apart...
The thoughts made you feel that your heart was being pulled apart. You looked at the light that escaped the small gap. Why did your relationship suddenly feel like that? Darkness had surrounded you, and the escaped light was really close but too far away to engulf you into happiness again. That light was Shawn. And it was almost as if he had forgotten to engulf you. And it was slowly killing you.
Before you know it, sleep had consumed you, with those burning thoughts still fresh in your mind.
.....
"Hey, honey."
You hugged your coat over your chest and spared Shawn a glance. You had woken up to a cold and empty bed, disappointing you. You didn't think Shawn would stretch it till the morning. That was until you smelled the sweet scent of maple syrup and pancakes. Realizing Shawn's plan to lure you into forgiving him, you rolled your eyes. If he thought that pancakes was going to make you ease up, then he was miserably mistaken.
He knew that you never liked fights left like this, with so much tension in the air that it pressured your heart. He knew that you preferred to talk it out and apologize to each other, and not leave it just like that. You had sighed and got up, freshened up.
You heard Shawn sigh and groan slightly as you went through your mail. You saw one addressed to Shawn. You looked up, looking at the creases on Shawn's forehead. "You have mail." You said, monotonously. You walked towards him, and he looked at you hopefully.
But you didn't give in, not just yet. You were too angry at him but didn't want to give him attention. You still wanted to hit him and scream at him because of last night and what he made you feel. And yeah, you also wanted to get the argument over with and just hug him. But you didn't.
Shawn didn't know if he was right or if he was wrong. What he did was fully flawed, and he didn't realize it. You had always been a bit touchy. It was your way of receiving and giving love. Through physical touch. Unfortunately, it was one of your insecurities as well. You had been brushed off as annoying so many times because of your habits, it hurt you. So you had given Shawn a warning, no let me scratch that. So many warnings.
This fight wasn't exactly related to that, but it still made the insecurities and that same unsafe or lets say, not belonging feeling around you.
Shawn hadn't forgotten that, but he wasn't sure if it was exactly his fault. I mean, you did know how busy he gets. So after a busy day, he might want a bit space, didn't he?
But he didn't want this fight to last this long, either. He was keeping a party at their house, tomorrow night. He didn't want anybody to talk about your relationship or its problems. He didn't want anything new to stir up. "I'm sorry." He whispered.
You looked up, your expression was something he couldn't decipher.
"I'm sorry." He said, loud and clear. "It was wrong of me, what I did last night. And I know I have been bailing on you for a long time, and you have been so understanding. I'm sorry,"
You nodded at him. "Just don't do it again." You said, gently. Shawn didn't really understand why your voice sounded so afraid. It wasn't that big of a deal, was it?
"Anyway," Shawn smiled at you and brought up two plates of hot pancakes. "I'm keeping a party tomorrow night, if that's alright with you?" You smiled at him. "Yeah, no problem. Who's coming?"
"You know the usual, the team. Niall, Taylor etc. We wanted to celebrate all the work we've done for the new album."
"Ooh, when are you releasing it?"
"Next month. It's not completed it, but we're very proud of what it has become until now." You looked at him with a proud expression. You were so happy for him. You loved how hard-working he was.
"Okay then," You smiled at him. "You going to the studio, now?" He nodded, "I'll be back by 8. We can binge B99 if you want. Or maybe watch Avengers, since you're so fond of Tom Hiddleston," You giggled and blushed. "And RDJ." You pointed out, and he scoffed, smiling.
He kissed your forehead as you both finished your breakfast, and took your plates putting them in the dishwasher.
After getting ready, he went out the door, giving you your goodbyes and kisses. Still as he stepped out the door, you felt disappointment arousing in the pit of your stomach.
.....
You looked at yourself in the mirror and stared at your outfit. You smiled and adored the slight foxy eyeshadow you had done. You took a deep breath and stepped outside your bedroom door. The party music was roaring down, and you slowly stepped down the stairs. As you stepped onto the second last step, you tried to find Shawn, and spotted him having a drink with two of his friends from the team. You smiled at him as he stared at you. You walked towards him, and noticed him still staring at you. "What?" You asked. "Does this not look good?" You turned your waist, "Should I change?" But he just grinned at you, and pulled in for a kiss.
He left you breathless and smiled at you. "You look fucking stunning, honey."
You blushed under his gaze and hid your face in his chest as it rumbled because of his chuckles. "Such lovebirds." Someone muttered and you looked up to see Niall. "Niall!!" You squeaked and hugged him. "How are you?"
"Perfect, love." He said and smiled at how you had wrapped your hands around his waist. "How are you both?" He asked cheekily.
"Same." Shawn said and kissed your cheek.
"I'm glad."
You looked around and sighed at the crowd. As much as you were proud of Shawn and no matter how many launch parties you go to with him, you never get used to the crowd. It gets overwhelming and makes you anxious. That's why you never actually like coming to these parties yet you did, only for Shawn. You tried not to always stick to him, but always made sure that he was in your eye sight, to make you feel calm and safe.
If he wasn't, then you would look for Niall, Taylor, or one of the other people with whom you were really good friends.
But mostly, it was Shawn.
You were thirsty and wanted to get a drink, so you went to the bar, promising Shawn to meet him at the dance floor.
But when you came back, he wasn't there. You couldn't find him. You looked around the crowd but couldn't spot him. When you looked back at the bar, you saw him with one of his team members. You recognized her immediately. Sylvie.
She had helped Shawn a lot, and you appreciated her for that. But sometimes you felt that maybe she didn't really like you, you tried to tell Shawn but he dismissed you, saying that you're being paranoid and that you haven't just spent that much time.
You sighed as you walked over to him.
"Shawn!" He looked back and saw you. He smiled at you and waved you to come over. You walked towards him with relief on your face. You got close to him and wrapped your arm around his. "Sylvie! How are you?" You asked politely. She smiled grimly, not so excited to see you, and replied, "Great! We're just waiting for the album to be complete and released, aren't we?" She smiled at Shawn and rubbed his arm. You felt extremely uncomfortable as you saw he look at Shawn like that. Your insecurities got up. "I'm so proud of you guys!"
"Yeah, I'm sure you are." She mumbled and scoffed. "Did you say something?" You asked her but Shawn squeezed your hand. "Weren't we going to the dance floor? I'm sorry Sylvie, we'll see you later." He said and smiled at her. She nodded and he grabbed you and you both walked towards the dance floor. "That wasn't polite, Shawn."
"I know."
You both danced calmly into each other's arms. "Shawn, was it just me, or was she rolling her eyes at me?"
He mumbled something under his breath and then looked back at you. "No, sweetheart. She is just in a bad mood, her boyfriend and she got into a fight before coming here." You nodded. You looked up at him and sighed as you saw his beautiful brown eyes.
You sighed and kept your head on his chest as you both swayed from side to side to the soft rhythm of the music. "I love you." You whispered gently as comfort laced you both like a graceful ribbon. Shawn kissed your forehead, his lips lingering over the crown of your head. "I love you the most.." He breathed, as the scent of your hair reached him. His eyes fluttered shut and he pulled you even close, If that was possible.
You took deep breaths as you found yourself finally in your beloved's arms. It was rare. Very rare. And you wanted to make the most out of this moment. An unsettling feeling had rested in your chest, that any moment this is going to be ripped from you. He is going to be ripped apart from you. And you will be crushed again.
You entwined your hand into his' as the music ended and he was obliged to go and meet more guests. He gave you an apologetic smile, but you weren't going to leave him. You went along with him even if exhaustion had taken over your legs. You felt so much safer with him. His cheering voice always comforted you, it kept your anxiety at bay.
You both walked towards the bar again. You smiled at him and left his hand. You wanted to pee. So you stepped across but as soon as you closed your stall, some voices started speaking. Familiar voices.
"I mean did you see her tonight?"
"mhmm."
"Fuckin whore, can't even dress properly."
You tried to restrain your gasp as you recognized the voice. Sylvie.
"Poor Shawn, he must've had to deal with her."
"I know right? She's so useless. Always clinging to him like a puppy."
"She's only with him for clout. Clingy bitch."
"God, Shawn deserves so much better."
"Someone like you, Sylvie?"
"Oh shut up." She giggled. "Maybe."
Your blood boiled as you heard all those words, but your heart ached. Tears started to spill out of your eyes as you tried to keep your breath calm. Shawn deserves so much better. Was it true? Were you that clingy?
You heard the door close shut and that's when you broke down. Tears started to pour down your eyes, rolling down your cheeks. You held your forearms as your chest shuddered at thought of Shawn leaving you. You tried to keep your cries in but your ears started to hurt and your throat started to dry as you gasped for breath.
Your head was aching and your dress felt too tight now. Why was this happening to you? You wanted to yell for Shawn but then you thought about you being a burden to him.
And besides, you looked like a fucking disaster. You didn't want to ruin Shawn's rep like that.
.....
Shawn was a bit frustrated with you. You still doubted Sylvie, and it bothered him. She was such a sweet person and a great colleague. Why did you always seem to dislike her? It always annoyed him- you trying to point out some imaginary things about her. Sylvie was rolling her eyes at me; she was giving me a weird look; I think she doesn't like me; Your complaints were endless.
Niall furrowed his eyebrows at the crowd, and then looked back towards Shawn. "Shawn?" Shawn stirred his drink. "Yeah?"
"Where's Y/n?"
"Bathroom. Why?"
"Don't you think its been a long time?"
"Um-"
"Shawn you know what happens during these parties don't you?"
"Yes but-"
"Shawn go check on her or I will burst into the girl's washroom and sing Stitches."
"Ok, ok! Fine." Shawn breathed and looked around the crowd again. He breathed when he realized it had been a long time since you came. He got up and walked through the crowd, just to make sure that you weren't locked in the crowd. But you were nowhere to be seen. Shawn's heart rate started to increase. He was marching up to the ladies washroom.
Just as he went forward, trying not to bump into more drunk people- Shawn halted as a person came right in front of him. "Hi, Shawn~" He looked down to see Sylvie standing with a drink in her hand, a giddy expression on her face. "How are you?" She asked in a squeaky voice. She caressed his shoulder, going to his bicep. But Shawn was in a hurry to even process what she was doing.
"Sylvie-"
"Oh, I love it when you say my name." She said, breathily. Shawn gave her a weird look and then looked at the washrooms, they seemed so far away. "Sylvie, I have to go-"
"No please wait-" She held onto his hand. But Shawn twisted his hand out of her grasp and ran out of there. He burst into the washroom and heard small gasps and soft sobs. Shawn's heart broke; He took quick steps toward the stall and knocked. He heard a sharp gasp-- "Y/n? Honey?"
"Hello?" You squeaked out, keeping a small hope that it wasn't Shawn. "Sweetie, please open the door. For me?" You sighed and your breath shuddered. It was undoubtedly him. This was perfect- you felt even worse. You couldn't hide and you didn't have a mirror to fix yourself.
You wanted to dig a hole and die.
But you didn't have a choice now. Shawn looked up as the door clicked and you stepped out. Shawn cupped your face and studied it- you were an absolute mess.
"Shawn-"
Shawn shushed you and wiped the tears on your cheeks and kissed the red skin right under your eyes. You shivered as his cold lips touched your cheeks, and you closed your eyes as he pulled away.
"Why were you crying?" He asked directly. And you looked at the ground- You really didn't want to tell him, and lying wasn't an option because he could tell your tell on your fourth date. "Um,
I was in the stall- when some girls came into the bathroom. They started to talk- and um," You looked around uncomfortably. "I realized it was Sylvie and her friends. They said some things about me."
Shawn raised his eyebrows, "oh? What kind of things?"
"She called me a whore, and said that I was a clingy bitch and never left your side. She said that you must be," you took a deep breath. "Miserable with me." Shawn ran his hands through his hair. He couldn't believe that Sylvie would say this.
He couldn't believe that you were making these accusations.
"Are you sure it was her?" He asked. You furrowed your eyebrows. "Of course, I recognized her voice."
"But you didn't see her, did you?"
"Shawn-"
"No! Why did you always try to convince me that Sylvie hates you?"
You were completely taken back. How could he ask you this?
"You always try to tell me how bad she is-"
"I never told you that!" You shouted.
"But weren't you trying to? Weren't you? Why do you dislike her? She is one of the sweetest people I have ever met- can't you at least try to like her? At least to support me! I mean you have been nothing but unsupportive recently!" He spat at you. Your blood boiled as you heard his words. Unsupportive? "And that you bring Sylvie into all of this? God, y/n."
"Unsupportive?" You breathed. "Did you just call me unsupportive? How could you- I've always been supportive of you! I never complained when you come home so late and never texted me- I never got angry at you when you would ignore me- I always supported you through your tantrums-"
"What the fuck do you mean??"
"I'm your fucking girlfriend Shawn! I'm not your punching bag or your booty call! That whenever you want me I'll be there for you~ But it's not the way around. I always understand that your career can't always make you available, but I can't always be like this! I can't take it anymore!"
"And the fact that you don't believe me and don't fucking trust me is just-"
"God, you're such an ordinary girl," he mumbled under his breath. You looked at him, betrayal laced in your eyes. "I'm sorry, what did you say?" You asked him quietly. "You're such an ordinary girl!"
You were taken aback by his statement. An ordinary girl?
But you stayed quiet, that was your harshest answer. You were exhausted. You were tired by his actions, his expectations, and what you have faced. You couldn't do it anymore.
"If you can't handle this ordinary girl, then maybe you shouldn't be with her." You said with unshed tears in your eyes. "Maybe you should be with someone like Sylvie."
"It will be easy. She wants to be with you anyway." You said.
"What the fuck do you mean?"
You just shook your head and got out of there.
.....
Shawn was aggravated, how could you accuse Sylvie of saying such things? Shawn stormed off from the washroom after you did. His head wasn't straight at the time. Anger and frustration was running through his veins like poison. And what did you mean by that last thing you said?
"She wants to be with you anyway."
Alcohol was affecting his mind as the echo of your words ran through his ears. His head was getting dizzy. Shawn looked at the crowd and didn't find you. He panicked for awhile then remembered that you must've gone back home. Shawn wanted to ease off tonight, he had been working hard week after week. So many sleepless nights without you in his arms and he missed you so much.
But all of those sleepless nights had caught up on him and he just wanted to rest when he came back home. He didn't expect to get into that fight with you- and all that anger just wanted to be vented off.
So well, maybe Shawn realized that he had acted a bit inconsiderate.
And maybe cruel.
But she would forgive him wouldn't she?
Shawn somehow got engulfed in the crowd and was getting bumped constantly by the dancing cluster of people. He heard weird voices and someone very familiar trying to talk to him. "Shawn, buddy? Where is y/n? Are you okay?"
Shawn dismissed them and tried dancing off. Suddenly, he got pulled by someone and they started dancing with him. "Hey, Shawn." He heard someone say flirtatiously. He felt his cheeks being caressed. "Sylvie?"
"Hi silly, come on dance with me!" She said and took Shawn's hands and placed it them on her waist. "What are you doing?" Shawn asked, drunkenly. "Dancing with you, sweetie." She whispered in his ear. Shawn felt disgusted but he couldn't tell her that. He didn't want to dance with her, he wanted to dance with you. "Wait, Sylvie- I need to find y/n."
But she kept a hold on his hands. "Why? I'm here, aren't I? Anyway she left you alone." She said bitterly. "What do you mean? We just had a fight- and she said some bizarre things."
"She thought that you wanted to be with me! That's so absurd. You don't like me do you?"
Sylvie stayed silent which made Shawn panic. "Sylvi-"
She pulled him closer and whispered against his lips. "What if I do?"
Suddenly Shawn's new song started playing. It was supposed to be a surprise for you.
i wonder if you're real
Do i speak the truth or do i filter how i feel?
I wonder, wouldn't it be nice
To live inside a world that isn't black and white?
Shawn felt Sylvie's cold lips against the corner of his mouth and his whole body filled with disgust and shame. It felt wrong. It felt so wrong.
He wrote this song for you, he wanted to dance on this song with you. But you weren't here and it was all his fault. He hated himself because these words were written for you, were supposed be adored by you right now. Yet they were getting betrayed.
His heart shattered as he realized what was happening. His mind sobered up and he pushed Sylvie away with utter horror. He ran away to find you. Hoping you were home.
You weren't though.
You were walking down the quiet streets, getting drenched in rain. Tears were pouring down your face. You were so thankful that because of the rain nobody could distinguish whether the drops of water on your face were either raindrops or salty tears.
In the middle of this rain, that once you would've called so beautiful, your heart had been crushed and now fear had built. Was this the end? Were you and Shawn over?
You didn't want to think of that. But how could you not? He had totally disregarded you, over and over again. And you realized that a half-assed apology wouldn't work this time. You loved him so much.
Oh, you loved him dearly, but you had dignity and self-respect. And you were not going to let Shawn's cruel actions and your love for him to get between your self-dignity.
You sat down on one of the benches. Your sobbing wasn't stopping and you had given up now. You looked up and glanced around- The streetlights were lit, rain was dancing on the ground, and everything else was quiet.
You would've loved this. It would've been so romantic- but right now you felt empty.
Suddenly, you heard panting. Your eyes widened and you tried not to be frantic. What was it? A wild dog? "Thank god, I couldn't find you anywhere."
Your throat tightened. Shawn.
"That was the motive, Shawn." You said coldly. You didn't want to look at him. So you didn't realize that even he was crying.
"Please look at me, baby."
"What do you want?"
"You, back. Please." You stayed silent. "Love, I- When you left I got drunker and Sylvie danced with me. She-She tried to kiss me-"
Your eyes filled with tears once again. "I- You were right, baby. When she tried to kiss me, my song started to play. A new song, that I wrote for you- I didn't realize that I was hurting you and then I realized that I couldn't lose you. Those words, that-that music was composed for you, and all I wanted was you there, to be with me, in my arms to dance to that song. You're all I ever wanted, a-and I'm so sorry that I have been a total jerk to you, and I understand that you have been so patient with me and I have been taking you for granted."
"Glad you realized that."
"I'm so sorry, honey. Please give me another chance."
You stayed quiet. What he said melted your heart but you were stronger than that. You took in a deep breath albeit shaky. Restraining yourself from crying you got up, your knees weak. "Shawn, I-"
"I cannot forgive you." And because of the silence, both of your hearts shattering were audibly clear. "Just yet."
"I need time, Shawn. What you did- You didn't trust me! Your own girlfriend. I cannot forgive you just yet, and neither can I make myself trust you again. Not just like that. If you expected me to come back into your arms instantly then you were mistaken, Shawn." You said softly.
"I need time to think. And its better for now if you don't contact me for a few days." You slowly turned around. "It's best if you go back. Please take care of yourself." You said and walked away with a heavy heart.
Shawn watched as you walked away. He knew the damage he had done. He loved you so much, and he wasn't strong enough to pay the price. To stay away from you.
But he had to.

I Can't Live Without You
One would think that Shawn would defend his girlfriend when an interviewer, a big one, a famous one, completely bashes her and everything that she’s worked so hard for. Well, he didn’t, and it went a little something like this,
“So your girlfriend, Alex, is a film director yes?”
“That’s right.” Shawn smiled.
“Which, first of all, is a surprise! I saw her film and the whole thing- it was so good, it’s like a man could’ve made it!”
Shawn laughs and nods, “Yeah, she’s great.”
“She also plays a character in the movie! Who, can I just say, is kind of a slut.”
“Oh how so?”
He’s not going to say anything about that?! He’s gonna entertain this conversation?! The amount of times she has explained that her character is free-spirited and carefree- all of that torn apart now. All her work, undone.
Just like that.
“Well, her outfits, her dialogue! Even her several partners!”
She had two. One of them left right in the beginning.
“Wow, I mean- yeah! Her character is kind of everywhe-”
Brian had turned off the TV after that, looking over at Alex whose eyes were glossy now. “Al?”
“Why didn’t he defend me?” She mumbled and went to her room.
That wasn’t it. It wasn’t just one and done.
While he was still on his promo run, more interviewers asked similar questions, about if she was anything like her character (if you know what I mean) and that’s verbatim! Shawn had laughed and said, “Well, what do you think?” What is that supposed to mean?
Alex was sitting at the dining room table, trying to write a new script, but failing, when Brian came back from his girlfriend Kate’s house. “Al, you gotta stay away from the int-”
“I’m trying, but it is plastered everywhere, even on the goddamn TV.” She said and pointed at the TV in the living room.
Brian sighed and sat next to her, pulling her into a hug, “I’m sorry he’s such an asshole.” He mumbled, rubbing her back. Alex let a tear fall out and hugged him back.
“Does he really not know that what he's saying hurts me?" She mumbled, sniffles leaving her.
Brian squeezed her tighter and kissed her head, "I'll talk to him about it."
"No use. He already made me look like a fucking idiot." She replied, a dry laugh leaving her mouth. "And he's coming back in a few days anyway." She shrugged, Brian nodded and cleared his throat.
The air in the room wasn't as light and fun as it usually is, Brian knew what might come from this. He felt his heart get heavy and he pulled her into another hug.
~
The day Shawn came, he saw that a few things were different, decorations were up and the tree was waiting to be decorated as well. "Hey guys, I'm home!" He yelled out and heard no reply, he huffed and walked around, setting his things down before heading to his and Alex's room. He smiled at the image in front of him, Alex was sleeping peacefully with their big quilt wrapped around her. Shawn chuckled and climbed into bed with her, kissing her cheek and she shifted in her sleep. "Alex, baby wake up." He whispered, Alex groaned and turned away, Shawn pouted and played with her hair, "Did you miss me, baby?" He asked, Alex groaned again.
"Shawn!" Brian exclaimed, having just woken up as well.
"Hey Brian! I just got here!" He whispered,  getting up and walking out the room to talk to his best friend.
"I see that. Hey dude, what the fuck?!" Brian whisper yelled, Shawns face dropped and he looked confused.
"What? What'd I do?" He asked and Brian scoffed.
"The fuck do you mean? You fucking dragged your girlfriend through the mud on like, the entire promo run!... Agreeing with the sexist stereotypes that people brought up, not saying anything when people were calling her a slut… do you not hear the words that come out of others mouths? Have you not seen any of the articles posted recently? No one told you anything?"
"No, Alex didn't say anything." Shawn replied, leaning on the back of his couch.
"Well, she shouldn't have to. That's really fucked up, man."
Shawn sighed and thought back on all his interviews recently, have they really been that bad?
About an hour later, Alex woke up and brushed her teeth before greeting Shawn. "Hey, baby!" Shawn grinned, reaching out to hold her hand.
"Hey." She replies, a small smile on her face as she sits down next to him.
"You alright?" He asked, rubbing her shoulder.
"Yeah! I just have to talk to you, but we can do that tomorrow." She shrugged, reaching for the remote.
"O- oh, about what?"
"I feel like you know." She answered simply, flipping through channels, "I don't wanna do it tonight, Shawn. I'm drained."
"I wanna do it now, though."
"Kay, well I don't." She said, Shawn sighed and rubbed his face.
"Alright. Can I… can I cuddle you?" He asked, opening his arms for her. Alex nodded and leaned into his arms, she kissed his chest quickly before turning back to the tv and choosing something to watch.
Shawn shifted a bit and felt his heart sink at the thought of tomorrow, their "conversation"... what if it leads to something else? Something worse.
When they’re ready for bed, Alex just simply gets under the covers, mutters a 'Good night' and drifts off to sleep. Shawn frowns and climbs into bed as well, wanting to cuddle her but he decides against it. He falls asleep to the sound of Alex's light breathing and many thoughts of what tomorrow will go like.
The next morning Shawn wakes up to an empty bed and sounds of dishes being washed in the kitchen. He gets up and brushes his teeth before heading to the kitchen, "You didn't have to do those, baby." He says, sitting on the counter behind her.
"It was bothering me." She shrugged, rinsing off a mug she finished using.
“Oh okay.” He said, “So, I- I’m ready to talk.”
“Yeah? Did Brian tell you anything?” She questioned, turning to face him.
Where is Brian?
“He’s at Kates by the way.” She answered, basically reading his mind.
“Yeah he did. Told me about all the things that were said in interviews.” He said looking down at his legs.
“Yeah. What was that?” She asked, crossing her arms. “How could you let them say that about me?”
“I- I don’t know. It didn’t seem wrong at the time.” He answered honestly.
“You made me look like a fucking idiot. You know how hard I worked to get people to take my work seriously. That was all completely demolished! Have you seen any of the articles lately?”
Shawn shook his head, “I’m sorry.” He whispered, Alex sighed and pulled out her phone, showing him article after article saying things like “Shawn Mendes says his girlfriends movies are a slut show”
“I didn’t say that though!”
“You agreed.” She replied quickly, like she's been thinking of this conversation for days.
She has.
“It was just some jokes!” He defended and Alex felt herself give up on him. Why is he mad?
“Not one! Hundreds! You fucking humiliated me!” She yelled back, “If I fucking went out and said all of your music was basic white trash just to appeal to the radio-”
“Hey!”
“Exactly…” She waited for him to respond but was met with nothing but a sigh from him and an apologetic frown. "Why didn't you defend me?"
"I- I don't know." He replied, "Like I said, at the time it didn't feel wrong or anything. Of course I'll defend you now!" He finished.
"Yeah, but are you only saying that because I confronted you about it? You didn't even notice anything wrong with those questions until now. The weight they carried… fuck, Shawn." Alex sighed, shaking her head. An overbearing weight on her chest now.
"I'm sorry, baby, I love you! You know I wouldn't do anything to hurt you." He said, reaching for her hand.
"You already did! How the fuck do you go half of your press run just shitting on me and not realizing?" She yelled.
"Don’t raise your fucking voice at me!” He yelled back, pointing a finger at her.
“I’m fucking pissed! So of course I’m gonna yell at you, you fucking prick! Don’t get all fucking-”
“Oh my fucking god! What do you want me to do?! You want me to fucking apologize to the whole fucking world? Will that help you and your fucking career? If your boyfriend made a video or wrote down an apology and posted it online?! Is that what you want?” He exploded, Alex glared at him and ran her hand through her hair.
“You’re a fucking asshole, Shawn.” She said, feeling herself about to break down.
“You’re getting mad over a few little questions! Just fucking post something and say that it’s not true!”
“It’s not that fucking easy! I’m not like you! My career isn’t fucking-” While she was talking about how her work isn’t as grounded as his, Shawn pulled out his phone and started recording on Instagram.
“Hey guys, so my fucking girlfriend is making me record this to say s-”
“Are you fucking kidding me?!” She screamed, trying to pull his arm down and stop him.
“No cause you’re being fucking overdramatic! I gotta apologize for some interviews!” He replied but stopped recording.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” She glared at him and rushed to the room, getting some clothes together to leave.
“There’s just no pleasing you, is there?” Shawn said, his voice cold and uncaring.
“Don’t fucking talk to me. I can’t fucking look at you right now.” She said, zipping up her bag and pushing past him.
“W- what? Wait, where are you going?!” He exclaims, following her through the apartment, “People are gonna see you! That’ll go ev-”
“For fuck sake! Is your image really more important than us? You care more about me being seen pissed off because of your own actions? Maybe I wouldn’t be leaving if you fucking cared!” She yelled, rushing to open the door.
"Where are you going?!"
"Doesn't matter. As long as I'm not here I'll be okay." She snapped, feeling herself about to cry. She tries not to cry so much, but this is just too much right now. "You know there was a time where i thought you were my dream come true… but you're a fucking nightmare." She said, a few  tears falling out of her eyes. "Is there any specific reason you never let me direct your music videos? Or even your documentary, Shawn?" She asked, feeling herself lose hope in this relationship.
Shawn stood there with his mouth hung open and he shifted on his feet but said nothing.
Alex sniffled and nodded, "Thought so." She finished her walk to the door and went to open it before Shawn spoke.
"You deserve better."
"Yeah. I really do." She replied and opened the door, which made Shawn panic and rush next to her and hold the door closed.
"Wait, baby, I- I can't live without you." He said softly, that made Alex look up at him, teary eyed and all. She scoffed and threw the door open.
"If you can't live without me," She walked out the apartment, out of his life, for good. "Then die."

The line between friends and acquaintances was always foggy. At what point did someone go from being a casual encounter to a bosom friend? Some people seem to radiate a type of energy immediately recognizable as “friend energy,” and Shawn was one of those people for you. His gorgeous smile and contagious laugh made him enjoyable to be around, you couldn’t help it. Even if you had only met him briefly here and there, you couldn’t help but refer to him as your friend behind closed doors.
Everyone around him loved him, understandably, and it wasn’t as if they could prevent it. He was unconditionally outgoing, always ready to listen or laugh. When he talked to you, he made eye contact like you were the only thing in the world. He never failed to make you feel special, but then again, he treated everyone like that. Occasionally, (more often than not), it made you jealous to see him with anyone else but he hardly knew you. What could you expect?
“Someone’s jealous,” your best friend would tease whenever she caught you staring at him forlornly, eyes green with envy.
“I’m not jealous,” you would protest. “I don’t even know him.”
It was true that you had only been on the receiving end of his undying attention a handful of times, but you felt like the entire world rested on those moments. He haunted your dreams with his gorgeous honey-brown eyes and adorable curls, his rosy cheeks, and his uplifting, luminous smile. His lush pink lips always accompanied these dreams, along with his pearly teeth, perfectly defined abs, and smooth, able hands, which had a habit of snaking up your thighs when you least expected them.
Occasionally, he managed to lose his illustrious demeanor in your dreams, appearing as either a frat boy or an affectionate boyfriend, but he was the same Shawn both ways, the one you barely knew, yet couldn’t live without.
Almost as a survival instinct, your dreams began coming true.
One day, you ran into him at a grocery store. Miraculously, you ended up behind him in line, close enough to smell the faint, masculine scent etched into the air. He was dressed in skinny black jeans and a simple white t-shirt, accentuating his broad back and muscular shoulders. His hair was arranged in a perfect mass of curls atop his head, and you couldn’t help but admire it… until he turned around to meet you.
His dark eyebrows raised in surprise as he recognized you, and you couldn’t pull your skittish eyes from his warm, welcoming ones. Just as he opened his mouth to speak to you, the woman in front of him in line finished checking out. He turned away without a word and, once you had finished checking out, he was gone.
He was such a curse. The mere thought of him plagued your mind, making it all but impossible to concentrate on anything. Any encounter with him had you fucked for weeks; dreaming about him at night, during the day, and every moment in between.
One night, you dreamed about seeing him at the beach.
The ocean spanned endlessly before you, wafting its warm, salty breeze toward you tantalizingly. You were alone, dressed in an emerald green swimsuit that accentuated your body perfectly. A layer of sunscreen on top of your newly-tanned skin made you glow in the sunlight. Your hair was tossed carelessly into a messy bun atop your head, along with a pair of sunglasses you didn’t plan on wearing.
You laid your towel down on the sand a few yards away from the beach access and assessed your surroundings. A large group of people was congregated about waist-deep in the water, but one man, in particular, caught your attention. He was tall and muscular, his back tanned by the sun, and his helmet of curls dripping wet with saltwater.
Part of you wanted to believe this someone was Shawn. As nonchalantly as you could, you began creeping slowly closer, pretending to snap pictures of the horizon as you waded into the crystal-clear waters.
A water fight broke out among the group, and the man ducked towards you, laughing, to escape a blow from a beer can now filled with water. Your breath caught in your throat as you caught a glimpse of his face, but you couldn’t tell whether or not it was him.
He visibly noticed you, his hazel eyes fixed on you, and your heart caught in your throat. As soon as it started, however, his attention returned to the water fight.
Another night, you dreamed that you met him, suddenly an attractive bartender, at a club. And yet another night, he brought you home with him from the same club. He laid you in his bed beside him for the night, lying down himself as far away from you as he could to give you respectful space.
Before he knew it, however, you were in his arms with your face buried in his bare chest as you breathed in his scent and traced the contour of his arms, which laid in stark tan contrast against the immaculate white sheets. Your fingers roamed his unclothed upper body, tracing his intricate tattoos meticulously while he fussed over your hair.
“You can’t go to sleep with it down,” he reasoned as you fought his arms in order to trace his guitar skyline tattoo. “It’ll get all tangled and knotty. If you’ll let me braid it, it’ll be smooth and wavy when you wake up. It won’t take forever, I promise.”
“Can you do it later?” you bargained as your hands ventured to his pecs once more to feel the hard muscles move beneath your palms as he rolled over to face you.
“It’s past midnight already, darling. Don’t you think sleep should be a priority?”
“No,” you stated blankly, mulling the situation over in your head before adding, “but I will let you braid my hair.”
Shawn’s fingers made quick work of weaving your hair into two broad French braids. He admired his work once he was done.
“It’s about bedtime now, don’t you think?” he asked sheepishly, to your dismay.
“Please, let me finish tracing your tattoos,” you pleaded, reaching for his hand and clutching it to your chest.
“Finish the swallow and we can go to sleep,” he compromised. “You can finish in the morning. You’re much drunker than I am, but we could both use the rest.”
It was true that you were exhausted at that moment, longing to curl up against your hookup’s chest and melt into him as your world dissolved into that of a dream. The temptation overcame you. You lost yourself in his comforting warmth as his hands caressed your back steadily. His chest rose and fell beside you, creating a rhythm that lulled you to sleep.
Your subconscious made you feel safe and secure encompassed in Shawn’s strong arms, and beside his broad, muscular chest. When you awoke in the morning, feeling rejuvenated and chipper, you reached for him as you had done every morning you’d woken up beside him. Something was different, though.
Shawn was nowhere to be found.
You opened your eyes to see your own familiar bed, in your own familiar bedroom, and the same familiar sunlight streaming through your sheer curtains.
A dissatisfied puff of air escaped your lips as you tried to recall the dream, now hazy in your mind. All you could think about was Shawn, and how the truth was that he could be anywhere with anyone right then, and you had no say in it. Your dream world could be some lucky person’s reality, and you would never know.
A tear of frustration slipped from your tear line down your cheek, but before you could wipe it away, a smooth, low voice cut through your silence.
“I didn’t know you were still here.”
“What?”
“Nothing. I just thought you’d gone home.” You felt the side of the bed dip as he sat down on it, rolling onto his side and perching his chin on your shoulder. He moved his large hands to your hips, holding them tightly as he kissed your cheek. His pink lips were smooth and consoling against your skin.
You allowed them to roam freely across your face and travel down your neck and shoulders, left exposed by a skimpy spaghetti-strap tank top. His fingers ran down your arms delicately, conditioned and calloused by his guitar strings. Goosebumps rose in the wake of his touch.
“Oh, look at you,” he hummed, pleasantly surprised by the slick, moist coating in your panties upon further inspection. “All it takes is for me to leave, hm? Tell me, dear. What were you up to while I was gone?”

"Yes." She breathed down his neck.

Soft, dim lighting casts a sensual glow throughout the room, illuminating the figures of Shawn and Y/N. Their bodies are intertwined, their breaths heavy with desire.
Y/N, her voice low and filled with anticipation, whispers into Shawn's ear, sending shivers down his spine.
"Tell me, Shawn. How do you like it?"
Shawn's eyes meet Y/N's, his desire evident as he responds, his voice husky.
"I like it rough. Intense. I want to lose myself in the moment with you."
Y/N's lips trace a path along Shawn's neck, her touch igniting a fire within him.
"Mmm, yes." She bites gently at his earlobe, sending a surge of electricity through his body. Their bodies press closer together, their connection intensifying with each passing moment.
The room fills with the sounds of their mutual exploration, a symphony of pleasure and desire. Their movements become more urgent, a dance of ecstasy and fulfillment.
In the midst of their shared passion, they lose themselves in the moment, reveling in the raw intensity of their connection. Skin against skin, their bodies merge, fueled by a hunger that can only be sated by each other.
Breaths mingling, they push the boundaries, exploring the depths of their desires. Each touch, each whisper, brings them closer to the edge of bliss.
The room becomes a sanctuary for their unyielding passion, a place where inhibitions dissolve, and their deepest fantasies find expression.
Time seems to stand still as their bodies move in perfect harmony, seeking pleasure and surrender. In this intimate space, they find solace, fulfillment, and a profound connection that transcends the physical realm.
As their climax approaches, their cries of ecstasy fill the air, a testament to the intensity and satisfaction they find in each other's arms.
Finally spent, they collapse into a tangled embrace, their bodies still humming with the lingering echoes of their passion.
Breathing heavily, Y/N and Shawn lay in each other's arms, their bodies basking in the afterglow of their passionate encounter. Their eyes meet, a shared understanding passing between them.
In the silence of the room, they find solace in their connection, knowing that their desires are fulfilled and their souls entwined.

Station 242
Type: One shot | Imagine about Shawn Rating: Rated R for BDSM Sexual Encounters Warning: this story is based heavily on BDSM  Word Count: 4700+ Enjoy!
Kai's life was always fast-paced so it didn't shock anyone when she became a paramedic. She always loved to be hands-on and help people so it was a perfect fit. Since passing the test she would bounce from house to house but nothing seemed to fit for a long period. She was in the floater pool and honestly, she just wanted to find a house that would fit.
"Welcome to house 242, ambulance 120," The paramedic said. "Thank you," Kai nodded. "Nice to meet you," she said. "You too," He nodded. "Let me show you around," he said. "Thanks," she said as she followed him.
He showed her the whole firehouse and then the ambulance. Making sure she knew where everything was and didn't get mad when she asked multiple questions.
"By the way I'm Shawn," he said as he held out his hand. "I'm Kai," she said as she shook his hand. "Well Kai, let's hope you are a perfect match" he smiled. "I sure hope so" she looked at him. "Tired of floating," she admitted. "I bet," he said. "How long have you been a paramedic?" he asked. "Well I passed the test almost two years ago," she nodded. "Been floating ever since" she said. "If I knew you were out there I would have requested you" he smiled. "Really? But you don't know if I'm a good paramedic" she said. "Yea true" he nodded. "But I have a good feeling about you," he said. "Thank you," she said.
Once they finished going over the ambulance she went inside to introduce herself to everyone. For the first time, she felt welcomed. Maybe house 242 would be her new home, but only time would tell. She settled in at the table and started talking to everyone. Until they got a call and she rushed out to the rig with Mendes. It was just a medical call so it was just the ambulance pulling out. Shawn and Kai fit together like a glove, she had everything he needed before he could even ask.
"I need" he started to say before she handed him the gaze he was about to ask for. "Thanks, '' he said as he focused on the patient. "I'm going to get the stretcher," she said. "Alright," he nodded.
They loaded up the patient and she rode in the back. They dropped the patient off at the hospital and went back to the firehouse. She started to stock the ambulance as he went into the firehouse. He went straight to the chief because he wanted to make sure that he would lose Kai.
"We need to talk," Shawn said. "Sure what's up?" the chief asked. "I want to keep Kai," Shawn said. "It's only been one shift, one call," the chief chuckled slightly. "But we mess so well and she's what house 242 has been missing," Shawn said. "Wow, she impressed you," the chief said. "Yea she did," Shawn said. "I'll start the paperwork but I need to talk to Kai first to see if it's what she wants," the chief said. "Sure" Shawn nodded. "Thanks," he said as he left the office.
She closed the ambulance and went into the dining hall.  Grabbing her something to eat before sitting at the table. She started to eat when another call came in. She placed the food in the refrigerator and rushed off to the ambulance.
"Busy house," she said. "Something like that," Shawn said. "The chief wants to talk to you," he said. "Oh," she sighed. "Ok thanks" she nodded as she looked out the window.   "Hey you aren't in trouble," he said as he placed his hand over hers. "I'm used to it," she nodded.
They arrived at the scene and once again she didn't miss a beat. Everything he wanted she already had. It went by quickly and they were dropping the patient off at the house before they knew it. Arriving back at the station, instead of stocking the ambulance, she went to the chief's office.
"I heard you wanted to talk to me," Kai said. "Yea comes in and sit down," the chief said. "Where am I headed to next?" Kai asked. "Hopefully home and then back here for your next shift," the chief said. "Wait, you want me for more than one shift?" she asked. "We want you to stay at house 242," the chief said. "If you would have us," he said. "I would love that honestly," she said. "I'll start the paperwork, but welcome to your new house" the chief smiled. "Thank you," she said.
She had to sign a few papers before leaving the office. She made it back outside where Shawn was in the ambulance taking inventory.
"Everything looks good?" she asked. "Yes it does" he nodded. "Well house 242 is officially my house" she smiled. "Really?" he asked. "Yea that's what the chief wanted to talk about," she said. "Congrats," he said as he hugged her.
She wrapped her arms around him, leaning her head against his chest. His smell was intoxicating, and her breath caught in her throat. She looked up at him, their eyes met and it was like everyone else melted away. His breath also caught in his throat as he tucked a piece of hair behind her ears. Allowing his hand to cup her cheek, brushing his thumb against her lips. She leaned in, stepping on her tippy toes as she allowed her lips to brush against his. All of a sudden a loud crash happened and they pulled away quickly.
"Guys is everything ok?" he asked as he walked away.
She went inside the ambulance and closed the door.  She was finishing up the inventory but had a hard time concentrating.
"Come on Kai you just got this house, don't fuck it up" she sighed as she sat down. "Including being involved with him" she closed her eyes. "Don't fuck this up" she said.
She finished up with the inventory and allowed him to run it through to make sure she didn't miss anything. He was very quiet as she was because they didn't know what to say. Should they address what happened or just push it under the rug and move on?
"Some of the guys are going to the bar later, do you want to join us?" he asked. "I'm not sure" she took a deep breath in. "I thought about going to a club," she said. "Club? Which one?" he asked. "The one not too far from here" she nodded. "We can meet there and have a few drinks," he suggested. "Sure" she nodded. "Thank you for today," she said. "No problem, you deserve this," he said. "Yea," she said. "See you later," she said as she left the station.
She got into her car and pulled off. Making it back to her apartment, and meeting her sister at the door when she entered. Her sister was on the way out to go to her job. They hugged and parted ways, Kai went and laid on the couch just taking a breather. She didn't realize how tired she was as she closed her eyes. She woke up to her phone going off, it was Shawn and that's when she realized what time it was.
"Guess I was tired," she said as she rubbed her eyes. She answered her phone. "I'm sorry I'll be there shortly," she said. "Are you ok?" he asked. "Yea just fell asleep, I'll see you soon," she said. "Ok," he chuckled slightly before hanging up.
She rushed around and got dressed, quickly brushing her hair. Then she was out the door, making her way down to the club. He was standing outside waiting for her. He offered his arm and she linked her arm around his as they entered the club. He ordered them drinks before sitting down at a table.
"I'm so sorry for keeping you waiting," she said. "It's ok," he said as he picked up his glass. "To you," he said. "To me" she smiled as she clinked glasses with him. They both took a sip of their drink. "Can we talk about what happened today?" he asked. "Outside the ambulance?" she looked at him. "Yea" he nodded. "I don't know what came over me, I'm sorry," she said. "Don't be sorry, It was something pulling us together," he said. "I liked it, wish we could have seen where it would have led," he said. "Really?" she asked as she took another sip. "Yes I do" he looked at her. "Did you have something to do with me getting to stay?" she asked. "I told the chief that you were a good fit," he said. "Oh ok," she nodded. "Was it because you like me?" she asked. "I like you as a person and you fit perfectly at house 242," he said. "Plus I've never had a pandemic so quick before," he said. "Are you just saying that?" she questioned. "No, I'm not," he said. "Now dance with me," he said as he stood up, offering his hand to her.
She grabbed his hand and followed him out onto the dance floor. They moved together to the beat of the music, getting pretty close to each other.  She wrapped her arms around his neck to keep him close. He leaned in, allowing his lips to linger against hers to see what she would do. She smiled against his lips before kissing him softly. He grabbed the back of her head, keeping the kiss between them. She tugged at his bottom lip as she pulled away.
"You can't handle me," she whispered in his ear. "Try me" he whispered into her ear. "Are you dominant?" she asked. "What?" He looked at her. "As in dominant in the bedroom?" he asked. "Yes I love to be dominated," she smiled. "Wouldn't you love to find out" he smiled. "Don't tease me now" she said. "Don't question me, kitten" he said into her ear. "So the tiger is willing to play" She smiled as she danced with him.
They finished their dance and went back to the table. They ordered more drinks and time started slipping away. He grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her closer to him. He didn't have to say anything but she nodded and stayed close to him. He paid for the drinks and led her out of the club. He hailed a cab and opened the door for her. She got into the car and he followed, as they were driving to his place. He grabbed her chin to make her look at him, demanding her attention. He leaned in, kissing her softly but showing her his power. She kissed him back keeping the same intensity, he pushed her back against the seat. Nuding her legs open with his hand, running his hand along her thigh.
"What are your rules? and your safeword?" he asked. "Safeword is the color system" she tried to focus on his questions. "And I don't have rules," she said. "Nothing is off-limits?" he asked as he moved his hand up her thigh, edging closer to her center. "Limits um" she tried to slow her breathing but it was hopeless. "No pee or blood, no cutting," she said. "Is that it, kitten? Now give me your full attention" he said as he grabbed her chin again. "Yes that's it, sir," she said as she looked at him. "Speak your safewords kitten," he said as he brushed her center with his thumb. "Red means stop, yellow means slow down and green means go," she said as her breath caught in her throat. "Good girl" he smirked as he knew he was driving her wild. "We are here," he said as the car came to a stop. He paid the driver and got out of the car, reaching for her hand. She grabbed his hand and followed him up to his apartment. He unlocked the door and opened it, allowing her to enter first. He followed and closed the door behind him before grabbing her neck, and pushing her against the wall. He pressed himself against her as he kissed her softly, moving his lips down to her neck.
"No sounds" he whispered before he started sucking against her neck.
She nodded as she didn't want to displease him. Controlling her breathing as she tried not to make a sound. He knew he had her right where he wanted her.  He pulled her closer to him, moving her towards the couch. She grabbed his hand and decided to lead him into the bedroom where things would be more comfortable. He grabbed the handcuffs off the table as she lay on the bed. He made quick work of her clothes before handcuffing her to the bed.
"Do you have any toys?" he asked. "In the nightstand" she responded.
He looked through her nightstand and pulled out a small bullet. It was small but it was powerful enough to get the job done. He moved over top of her, nudging her legs open with his knee. He leaned over and kissed her softly, moving to her neck. He turned on the bullet and hovered over her skin with it. At first on her stomach and then down to her thigh moving slowly. She bit her lip so she wouldn't make a sound. He moved the bullet closer to her center, teasing her slightly. He placed the bullet on her nub, sending pleasure through her body. She moved her hips towards him as she wanted more, she wanted him. He smirked as he knew he was teasing her, edging her closer to a climax.
"Whine for me, kitten," he said. "Please I need you" she moaned. "You need what? Use your big girl words" he said. "I need you, I want you inside me," she said.
He moved off the bed and undid his belt, allowing his pants to fall on the floor. He stepped out of them and grabbed a condom from her nightstand. Slipping on himself before moving back over to her. He slipped his tip up and down her slit, rubbing against her swollen nub.
"Don't worry I'm going to give you what you need" he whispered into her ear. "Please," she said as she moved her hips with his.
He shifted his hips and pushed himself into her. She allowed her moans to escape her lips as he soon pulled back up. Then he pushed himself in her again and started to thrust. His thrust was powerful and deep, hitting all of her spots. Even spots she didn't know she had, sent pleasure down her spine.
"Don't hold back, I want to hear you," he said.
She arched her back and allowed her moans to escape her lips. He knew she was close so he angled his hips and hit her deepest spot. Sending her over the edge, he gripped her hips allowing her to enjoy the moment. As she came down he started to thrust into her again. It wasn't too much longer before he also climaxed. He pulled out and threw the condom away. He undid the handcuffs and rubbed her wrist, to soothe the marks. He left the bedroom and grabbed her a glass of water, returning and handing it to her. After she drank the water he went into the bathroom and started a hot bath.
"Come here," he said as he reached for her hand. "Thanks" she nodded as she followed him.
Aftercare was just important as the sex and he wanted to make sure she was taken care of. After the hot bath, they both lay in the bed. She snuggled closer to him resting her head against his chest. He was running his hand through her hair as she drifted off to sleep. He fell asleep soon after, in the morning she was awakened by the smell of coffee. She sat up in the bed and stretched, she was about to get up when he entered with breakfast.
"I thought you would like breakfast in bed," he said as he placed the tray over her lap. "Wow thank you," she said. "A girl could get used to this" she smiled. "And that's a problem?" he asked as he kissed her forehead. "No" she looked up at him. "This didn't happen," he said. "We are just co-workers" he looked at her. "Yea" she nodded. "Of course," she said. "Have a good day" he said as he kissed her cheek and he left her apartment.
She finished eating breakfast and went to clean up the mess. To her surprise, he already cleaned up and all she had was the plate her food was on. He was too perfect for words and she wanted him but she knew she could not have him. Well not in a relationship way anyways, maybe they could have fun at night time again. She should have realized that he was a dom because the club they went to was a BDSM club. They just didn't go towards the back room and kept it up front with the drinks. She took the day to recover from their intense scene. Just curled up in the bed with a good book and took it easy. The next morning she woke up and got ready for work.
"Ok nothing happened," she said to herself in the mirror. "Oh but it did" she smiled to herself.
She finished getting ready for work and headed out the door. She stopped by Starbucks quickly to get her coffee before making it to the fire station. She walked in and put her bag into her locker, sitting at the table just looking through her phone.
"So Kai, that's your name?" someone asked. "Yes it's Kai" she nodded as she looked at them. "Is that short for something?" he asked. "Yes it is, my full name is Katherina but I like Kai '' she nodded. "Cool," he said. "I'm Sky," he said. "Nice to finally know some names," she said. "Of course," he said. "Well you know me," Shawn said as he sat beside her. "Well you are my partner so I had to know it," she said. "True," he said. "We didn't see you at the bar the other night," Sky said. "I had other plans," She said. "It was for you, for you staying at 242," Toby said as he said down. "I'm Toby by the way," he said. "Was it? I had no clue" she said. "I'm sorry, maybe we could redo it?" she asked. "Yea another time," Toby said. "Were you with Shawn?" he asked. "No I wasn't, I had other plans" she nodded. "Just because I wasn't at the bar doesn't mean I was with her, '' Shawn said as he rolled his eyes. "You are never with a girl," Sky said. "And?" Shawn said. "Are you batting for the other team?" Sky asked. "No," Shawn said. "He's private about his private life, give him a break," Kai said. "Exactly," Shawn said.
Before Sky and Toby could say something a call came in. Kai and Shawn both rushed out the door and were on the way to the call.
"Thanks back there," He said. "It's ok," she nodded as she looked out the window. "What's wrong kitten?" he asked as he placed his hand on her leg. "Nothing," she said. "Are you sure?" he asked as he slipped his hand up higher. "Yea just working," she said as she pushed his hand away. "You are playing a dangerous game," he whispered. "And if I enjoy it?" she asked as she placed her hand over his crotch. "I like being punished," she whispered into his ear. "Oh, kitten" he moaned slightly at her touch. "Be careful" he said as he parked the ambulance and grabbed her chin so she was looking at him. "I like playing with fire," she said as she looked at him. "Punish me," she said as she pulled away. "Oh I will kitten," he said as he got out of the ambulance.
They went on with the call like professionals and went back to the firehouse. She stocked up on what they used as he went to hang out with the guys. Once she finished stocking up the ambulance she made her way into the kitchen. It was her turn to cook lunch and she couldn't wait for everyone to taste her cooking. She still wanted to impress everyone at the firehouse, not just Shawn. She called everyone in and serviced lunch and it was a big hit. Everyone loved it and wanted seconds, she sat at the table and just smiled.
"Someone is happy with themselves," Shawn said as he sat beside her. "And what if I am?" she asked. "It's good to be proud of yourself," he said. "You fit in here perfectly" he looked at her. "Yes I do," she nodded.
He patted her back before getting up, moving closer to the guys. She just watched him and she just couldn't figure him out. One moment he was her master and then other times he gave her the cold shoulder. She shrugged it off and went to clean up after lunch. She didn't get that far into doing the dishes before they got another call.
"KAI COME ON" he yelled. "I AM!" she snapped back as she ran out to the ambulance.
He pulled right out and the whole ride was silent. It seems like he was driving more urgently than he has ever to an emergency. They finally arrived at the scene and he just rushed out of the ambulance. Ran inside while Kai got everything ready, trying to rush as quickly as he. Once Kai entered the house she noticed blood right away. She finally made it to where Shawn was, he was over the patient, holding a towel over the wound.
"HELP" Shawn yelled. "I got this" Kai nodded as she kneeled, removing Shawn's hands. "Go!" she said. "I'm not leaving," Shawn said. "It's personal for you so I got this! You need to go" she said as she worked on the patient. "THIS IS MY SISTER, I'M NOT GOING" he yelled. "GET OUT OF MY SCENE NOW" Kai yelled.
The police officer that was on the scene made Shawn walk out of the house. Kai did everything she could to make the patient stable before sending her off to the hospital. Shawn rode in the back of the ambulance with his sister.  Kai called the chief and told him what was going on. She sat in the waiting room with Shawn, just being there for him.
"I'm sorry" he whispered. "You have nothing to be sorry about," she said as she rubbed his back. "It's family," she said. "Thanks" he leaned his head against her shoulder. "I got you," she said.
They finally came out and gave Shawn an update, his sister was going to be fine. He went quickly to see her before they left the hospital. He called a cab and helped Kai inside the car. He sat next to her and the ride was silent once again. The cab finally came to a stop, Shawn paid for it and got out of the car. He held out his hand to Kai, she grabbed it and got out of the car.
"Are you sure you want me here?" she asked as she shut the car door. "Of course" he nodded as they walked up to the door, he quickly unlocked it and allowed her to enter. "I don't expect anything," she said. "I just want to be here for you," she said. "Thank you, I appreciate it but I want something to take my mind off it," he said as he grabbed her by the neck, pushing her against the wall. She didn't have a chance to speak as his lips were against hers, the moment she hit the wall. He grabbed her wrist, pushing her arms above her head. Moving his lips down to her neck, gently nibbling as he moved down.
"I want to play a game," he said as he looked at her. "I'm all yours," she said. "Good, repeat your safewords for me," he said as he picked her up, placing her on the sofa. "Red means stop, yellow means I'm confused and green means I'm good," she said. "Good kitten" he smirked as he removed her pants and panties. "So I'm going to eat you out but you can't make a noise and you can move your legs," he said as he looked at her. "Ok," she nodded.
He moved between her legs, kissing down her legs. Moving his lips up slowly over her inner thighs. Moving closer to her center, gently teasing her with his tongue. He ran his tongue up her slit, parting her lips as he started sucking at her nub. She bit her lip as she kept as quiet as she could. He held down her hips as he went between sucking and using his tongue on her center. She arched her back as she was edging closer to a climax.
"Scream," he said as he pushed two fingers into her, bringing her to her climax. "SHAWN" She screamed as she had an orgasm. "Good girl" he smiled as he sat up. "Let me help you out," she said as she sat up. "I'm fine," he said. "Are you sure?" she asked. "Yes I am," he nodded. "Just wanted to please you," he said. "You sure know how to do that" she kissed his cheek softly.
She grabbed her pants and panties, slipping them back on. All of a sudden the front door opened as she was pulling up her pants. She stood up and saw another woman standing in the doorway.
"Who the hell is this?" both Kai and the women said. "Oh, shit," he said as he got up from the couch. "Oh shit?" Kai asked as she crossed her arms. "Who the hell is this Shawn?" the woman asked. "This Kai, she's my new partner at work," Shawn said. "Oh nice to meet you," the woman said. "Doesn't explain who you are," Kai said. "Oh I'm Samantha, Shawn's wife," Samantha said as she wrapped her arm around Shawn. "Nice to meet you," Kai said. "I should go," she said as she grabbed her bag. "I'll see you at work," Shawn said as he watched Kai leave.
Kai slammed the door as she left, calling a cab. She waited for the cab and once it arrived she went to the nearest bar. She needed to drink Shawn off her mind and what they just did. Shot after shot, the minutes turned into hours.
"Bar is closed," the bartender said. "Thanks," Kai said. "You need a ride home?" he asked. "No, I'll be fine, thanks," Kai said as she left the bar.
She finally made it back home and went straight to bed. She knew she would have one hell of a hangover the next morning. In the morning she woke up when the sun started peeking through the curtains. She sat up and placed her head down in her head as everything came rushing back to her.
"He has a wife?" she asked. "That explains why he's so hot and cold and why he said nothing happened," she sighed. "It was too good to be true anyway" she pulled herself out of the bed.
She went on with her day as she normally did. Ignoring Shawn's messages and calls and just rested the day. She started to worry that it would end her days at Station 242. She was finally feeling like she was home, but guess it was short-lived. How could she work along with Shawn knowing what she knew? Knowing that she was a homewrecker, knowing that deep down she wanted him. Would she end her days at station 242? Would she ever listen to Shawn's side of the story? She had so many questions but in reality, she didn't want to find the answers.
"Stop calling me," she said as she placed her phone down as someone knocked on the door. "Hold on," she said.
She made her way to the door and opened it, standing there was Shawn. She tried to close the door because she wasn't ready to face him but he put his foot down. She just stood there and stared at him, not knowing what to say.

Famous Baby blurb
(The Leafs Game)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/n: I’m actually really struggling writing the next part so a throwback! Italics indicate a flashback
“Try going up one note” You suggest standing across from Justin at the piano.
Your friend asked you to come over to help out with some new music he was working on. You also were trying to write an album of your own and figured the afternoon spent working would help you as well. Justin sang the previous verse over again but higher like you suggested.
“Yeah I like that.” He commented going straight into the next verse. You hummed along joining in on certain verses creating a harmony.
“How would you feel about this song being the first I release off the new album?” Your jaw dropped at Justin’s question.
“For real?” You gasped. Justin’s return to music had been long anticipated by both fans and the media alike. And for him to want the song you collaborated on to be his intro back into the music industry was appreciated.
“Of course!” Justin exclaimed scooting back from the piano. “(y/n), you are one of the biggest names in the industry right now if not the biggest” he said putting an emphasis on the word the.
You were like a little sister to Justin, originally signing onto the same label when you were 16 and starting your career. Justin knew what it was like to be so young and in the spotlight so he looked out for you. Despite you switching labels and Justin taking a step back from music, you remained close. There was no one else he trusted more to debut his new album with.
“You’re still Justin Bieber.” You reminded him. “You don’t need my name attached for this to be successful.”
You continued practicing until the afternoon slowly turned into the evening and Hailey came downstairs with a leafs jersey on and an extra in her hands.
“Cult meeting tonight?” You asked as she handed the jersey to Justin.
“Yeah, do you want to come?” She offered.
You laughed at the thought, “Hell no.”
“C’mon, (y/n) please.”
“Come support our friend with us.” They both wore the same pouty expression.
“Auston is not my friend.”
“But we are,” Justin cut in before you could go on a rant. “And would you rather hang out with your friends or stay in by yourself tonight?”
“I’m fine with staying in.”
“C’mon everyone’s going, and it’ll be a fun night and we can go out after-“
“Fine.” You give in. “But I’m not wearing a jersey.”
It wasn’t enough for you to just not wear a maple leafs jersey. You knew one thing would piss off Auston even more. So once you all settled into your seats you grabbed your best friends hand and dragged her down to the gift shop.
“You don’t even like hockey.” She reminded you as you searched through the jerseys. “Why waste money on something you’re never gonna wear again?”
“Because, Auston will hate it.”
“And why do you care what he thinks?”
“I don’t.” You immediately snapped. “But I definitely don’t want him to think I came willingly. Plus we’re from here so why not support the hometown team.” You shrugged continuing your search.
Once you finally settled on a jersey you liked you didn’t wait for a bag and instead immediately pulled it on over your shirt. The jersey may have been petty, but you knew it would get the job done and that’s what mattered.
Justin groaned and rolled his eyes once he saw you return to your seat, “I’m not even gonna say anything.”
“Good choice.” You said sitting down next to Shawn with a satisfied smirk, actually looking forward to the start of the game.
“The arena is packed tonight. And we are not short of celebrity guests. Up in the stands we have Justin and Hailey Bieber, Shawn Mendes, and (y/f/n) (y/l/n)” The crowd cheered loudly following the announcement and the excitement only grew as your section was featured on the Jumbotron. You waved and smiled for the camera.
“It looks like there’s a rivalry going on up there.” The other announcer commented on the oppsoing jerseys you were wearing. You adjusted in your seat making it very known that you had a Kings jersey on.
“I would love to hear the trash talking that’s going on up there between Justin and (y/n)”
Once again the crowd went wild as Auston scored a goal. The group around you excitedly jumped up cheering along with others. You remained stoic looking down at your phone to check the time.
“At least pretend to be happy.” Justin leaned down to whisper his back facing the ice. “The cameras are on us.”
“Excitement for Auston is just something I can’t fake.” You finalized with a shrug of your shoulders, but the pleading look on Justin’s face was too hard to ignore. So you forced a smile throwing in a few claps.
“I’ll take it.” Justin said satisfied.
Once everyone calmed down you went back to your phone showing Shawn pictures from the vacation your family took recently. You were so absorbed in telling various stories from the trip you didn’t notice the time out that was called.
Shawn’s song, Fallin’ All in You began playing. You absentmindedly hummed along and looked up to see the Jumbotron started back up and this time with the kiss cam.
The camera suddenly panned on your section and was featuring Justin and Hailey. All of your friends instantly began cheering the couple on. And when they gave in and the crowd erupted.
Your excitement was fleeting though as the camera moved off of them and onto you and Shawn.
“Oh God.” You mumbled with a smile on your face trying to cover up any discomfort you were feeling.
You thought your immediate hesitation would be enough of an indication that you didn’t want to kiss your ex, but they persisted refusing to move the camera.
“They aren’t going to move on till we kiss.” Shawn whispered.
“Fine.” You conceded leaning back and looking over at him. “You make the first move.”
“Like our first kiss all over again.” He laughed before leaning over and kissing you. It was gentle and sweet, but had the whole arena booming with excitement.
You immediately covered your face laughing along with him as the camera stayed on you two to get the aftermath. Shawn kept his arm wrapped around your shoulders and kissed the side of your head. “Give it a second they’ll move on…And we’re good.”
You were relieved when you looked up and it wasn’t your face you were seeing on the screen. The breakup took place seven years ago and you stayed true to your word remaining friends after the split.
While there were no longer romantic feelings, Shawn was a comforting piece of your foundation. He not only maintained a good relationship with you, but your family as well. You knew he would be a part of your life for the rest of your life.
“Good job guys, no matter what happens with this game, that’s all anyone’s going to be talking about.” Justin reached over to fist bump Shawn.
“So we need to know are you guys back together.” Your best friend held out her water bottle as a fake microphone to you.
“Yeah, that kiss seemed pretty intimate.” Your other friend, Mason joined in also holding out a water bottle.
“Shut up.” You giggled pushing the water bottle away. “If any of you say we’re together I will end you.”
“Not the threats.” Mason joked, “I’m for sure telling TMZ that when they call me.”
Following the kiss cam the intensity seemed to go up for both teams, especially for one player in particular.
Auston wasn’t sure why seeing you on the kiss cam annoyed him so much, but it did. Everyone was supposed to be here to watch a hockey game and you turned it into a joke.
“Fuck.” He angrily slammed his stick against the boards breaking it before taking a seat on the bench.
“Dude, take a breather.” Mitch encouraged sitting down next to him.
“I’m fine.” Auston insisted taking a long swig from his water bottle.
“You sure because you’ve seemed tense?”
“Yeah I just want to win.” Mitch knew that wasn’t the reason, but he also knew not to push so he let it go.
Following your kiss he began playing harder. His hits were more forceful, his trash talking more heated, and his need to score at an all time. The intensity in the arena extended beyond the ice. As the game drew closer to ending fans of both teams started getting more aggressive.
“Matthews sucks. Anytime anyone gets near him he’s crying and acting like a little bitch.” A man sitting in front of you screamed at the glass. You had watched him down four beers already and become progressively drunk as the game went on.
“He’s talented, but selfish with the puck and a show off. The talent won’t last forever.” His friend next to him chimed in. They were both wearing Kings jerseys similar to the one you had on.
The way they were talking about Auston didn’t sit right with you. Any other day you would agree and probably even say those things yourself, but today was not that day.
You may have not known much about hockey, but you knew Auston was good (you would never admit that to him). And two middle aged men saying otherwise annoyed you.
“(Y/n), don’t.” Your best friend wrapped her hand around your wrist. You looked down now noticing that your hands were clenched and tapping against your leg.
“I’m not going to do anything.” You reassured her, trying to take deep breaths, in through your nose and out through your mouth.
“Are you sure? Because you have this crazy look in your eye and your extremely stiff right now.”
“I’m fine.” You seethed through clenched teeth.
“He’s overrated and overpaid.”
You took it upon yourself to tap on one of the men’s shoulder. As they turned around you cleared your throat and plastered on a tight smile. “Don’t you think this is the type of conversation you can have in your car on the ride home or maybe not even at all?”
“I can talk about whatever and whoever I want, when I want to.” The man on the right replied his beer sloshing around in his glass.
“You are two grown men talking about another grown man, be realistic.” You bit back, your attempt at being nice slowly fading away.
“You’re right we are grown men and allowed to have whatever opinion we want.” The second man replied raising his voice.
“Yeah maybe just don’t have it so loudly.” You suggested shrugging your shoulders and leaning back in your seat.
“You don’t know anything about hockey.”
“I know that right now the leafs are beating the kings.”
“Games not over yet.”
“And Matthews has scored two of their four goals.”
Despite your best attempts to keep the conversation cordial. The raised voices started gaining the attention of others around you. You knew a disagreement was one thing, but a full blown fight wouldn’t be a good look for you. As far as the public were concerned you weren’t the type of girl to be aggressive. And you would have maintained that look had one of the men not stood up so he was towering over you.
“He sucks the same way you probably get on your knees every night and suck his dick.” Any thought of being passive for your public image was out the window as you also stood not backing down.
“Excuse me.”
“You heard me.”
“No say it again I want you to hear yourself and how stupid you sound.” Image be damned. You didn’t want someone talking about Auston like that and you definitely weren’t going to allow them to talk about you like that.
“You’re nothing more than one of his sluts.” He threw his arms in the air, but before anything further could happen security was closing in on you quickly. You realized you hadn’t only caught the attention of the people around you but the whole arena as you looked up and could see yourself on the Jumbotron.
“And you’re a pathetic excuse of a human being. People pay to watch him, you’re running your mouth for free.” You had the final say as security pulled him away kicking both man out of the game. The crowd cheered watching them get escorted out, still fighting with anyone they could.
Watching them leave, however didn’t make you feel any better. You quickly picked up your bag and began climbing up the stairs before anyone could stop you. You were embarrassed that someone spoke to you like that especially in front of a crowd. You ran into the nearest bathroom locking yourself in a stall. You cursed yourself for letting your anger get the best of you. You knew this was going to be everywhere in a matter of hours. The string of texts coming into your phone from your publicist let you know that word already got to her.
“Fuck.” You groaned letting your head fall against the stall wall.
“(Y/n)?” You knew your best friend would find you. She stopped in front of the stall you were in, “I know you’re in there. I can see your feet.”
You groaned stomping your foot on the ground,“Go away.” There was no way you were opening the door.
“A security guard came over to us, Auston’s asking to see you.”
“No.” You flat out refused.
“Please.” You didn’t need to open the door to know she was biting down on her lip, a nervous habit she picked up from you. “He’s refusing to go back on the ice until he talks to you and they kinda need him.”
“Oh my god, he’s so dramatic.” You exclaimed opening the door. You usually were against giving into tantrums, but this needed to be resolved.
You begrudgingly followed security as they took you down to the tunnel where Auston was waiting.
“Are you crazy?” Auston screamed as soon as he saw you walking towards him.
Auston was confused as both teams were forced back to their benches in the middle of the game. Nothing happened on the ice to justify this, but as the crowd started to get loud and the Jumbotron featured the stands he realized it wasn’t because of what was happening on the ice, but rather off of it.
He watched as two people stood toe to toe yelling back and forth, neither backing down. But once he looked closer he realized he recognized the people around the two and then realized one of the people standing was you.
“So fucking stupid.” He mumbled, anger starting to flare up in his eyes. He continued to watch until the man raised his arm and that’s when Auston started moving before he could think. He didn’t get very far though, before multiple people were holding him back.
“Get off me.” He growled fighting against Mo, John, and Willy.
“You’re not going over there, this isn’t our arena and those aren’t our fans.” John kept his arms on Auston’s shoulders.
He continued watching as security closed in on the altercation separating you two, “fuck this.” He snapped breaking free from the hold on himself and moving towards the tunnel. “Someone get her down here.”
“Are you?” You shot back, “your holding up a whole game for this!” You motioned your hand between the two of you.
“I wouldn’t have to if you would’ve just sat down and stayed quiet!” He was pissed and didn’t care about who could possibly hear him.
“Oh yeah because I wanted a grown man yelling in my face.” You sarcastically let out, your voice going up an octave as you also got louder.
You watched as Auston shook his head and ran his hands through his hair. He had a concentrated look on his face, a look you’d seen before. This was the look Auston wore when he was trying to figure something out. But unlike before, the look didn’t go away, he was still frustrated.
“What the hell were you thinking?” He huffed pacing back and forth.
“I wasn’t, I was defending you!” You flung your arms in the air voice strained. “And based on how you’re treating me right now, I shouldn’t have.”
“I don’t need you to defend me.” Auston didn’t hold back, “people say shit all the time. You included.”
“But they weren’t me and no one besides me should say those things about you.” Your pulse was racing and it took a generous amount of self control to bring your voice back down to a reasonable level.
It felt like an eternity of silence before Auston finally replied, his voice much softer and more worn out, “You could’ve gotten hurt.”
“But I didn’t.” You watched as he leaned against the the wall hunched over. You realized that this was effecting him more than you. You were worried about your image, but Auston was worried about you. If anything would’ve happened to you, he would’ve never forgave himself. That’s not because he had any feelings for you, but because his parents raised him right (or at least that’s what he told himself when he flew off the ice and down the tunnel demanding to see you.)
“Hey, Auston.” You timidly touched his cheek forcing him to look at you. “I’m fine. Okay?” You searched his eyes for any confirmation that your words were getting through. “Plus I didn’t totally disagree with them, they did call you a little bitch.” The smile that tugged at the corners of his mouth and the deep chuckle confirmed that he was fine.
“A little bitch, huh? Not very original.”
“They also called me a dumb bitch so we have that in common.” You shrugged taking a step back.
Auston was amused, “Who would’ve thought that would be what we have in common.”
You smiled crossing your arms over your chest. You both took a second to really look at each other. You may have disliked each other, but you shared common ground when it came to dealing with hate. Auston didn’t deserve it any more than you did.
“This color looks terrible on you by the way.” Auston broke the silence lightly tugging at the jersey you wore.
“Really? You looked down at your outfit, “I think it’s sleek and flattering.”
“You’d look better in blue.” Auston stood to his full height.
“Win this game and I might consider it.” You offered side stepping to allow him to get closer to the entrance.
“Really?”
“No.” You shook your head, “but I do actually need you to win now. That fight can’t be for nothing.”
“This next goals for you, then.” He smirked.
“Don’t miss it like the last one.” You teased.
“Don’t get into anymore fights.” He retorted walking away and you watched as he returned from where he came.
