The tragic incident over the weekend in Itaewon, Seoul, is a wakeup call for authorities around the region on how they need to look at ways to respond to emergencies, like the Itaewon incident and also how party venues need to be in more open areas because what happened in Seoul could happen in any other city as well. The crash that happened on Saturday night has so far claimed more than 150 lives, and nearly 100 more are injured, with nearly 2 dozen in critical condition, it is one of the many such incidents that has plagued the region. In Seoul’s narrow party allies of Itaewon, more than 100,000 people gathered to celebrate Halloween on Saturday, which eventually led to many of the revellers being crushed to death as crowds swelled to the point that there was no way one would have figured out who fainted or who may not be able to keep themselves as the crowd stood for hours. Itaewon, Seoul is not the First Incident in Asia This was not the 1st incident in Asia during this month, on October 1st, the Indonesian police’s efforts to control the crowd at the stadium that was well beyond its capacity left more than 130 people dead as police used teargas to control the crowd while the stadium which had more than its capacity spectators, had locked out many of the exit doors. Thailand, which has managed to escape any significant incident, should learn something from things that have happened in Indonesia and South Korea. So far, only 1 Thai national has been reported to be among the 150+ people killed in Seoul, but this incident can teach the authorities how to be careful as the party season approaches.   Itaewon Accident. The narrow allies of Khao Sarn, which has one main road and various smaller allies that lead to smaller bars and pubs in the Sois, are areas that are poorly laid out and are a breeding ground for the possible mishap. Silom’s various Soi’s that go a few hundred meters from the main road are packed with bars/pubs that take up nearly the entire road in front of their shops, another area that has already been highlighted for their poor fire safety records. These small lanes packed to the brim during the festive season, be it during the New Year celebration or the Songkran, are areas that need to be highlighted to have some crowd control. Silom’s DJ Station, a haven for LGBT people, was earlier this year a spot where a small fire broke out; thankfully, it happened during the time the bar was closed but had such an incident happened during operational hours, a stampede would have indeed happened. Silom Soi 2, a small lane with bars on the left and right of the nearly 100 meters of soi, has only 1 entry and exit point. It is also a soi that has half the exit/entry of the soi blocked as a place for revellers to ‘deposit’ their bags before they enter the soi to go partying. Any unforeseen incident such as fire/or panic exiting would create a situation of stampede, and many would be crushed, like what the world saw in Itaewon. Prevent Loss of Life like the Ones in Itaewon, Seoul Partygoers are all looking at ways to enjoy themselves after years of staying put. Their minds are likely not to be bothered about what safety standards are in place or what fire escape routes are from the various party venues. Still, the government and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) need to look at these issues and find ways to possibly control or develop rules that prevent such an unforeseen incident from happening in our
country. “Bàn tay thúi” Thái Lan du ký

Mình ok ngay khi chị Thư rủ đi Thái, đúng kiểu trước nay làm rồi mới tính. Với lại hôm trước đã phủi tay khi bà chị “du mục” đòi đi Ai Cập hơn cả tháng, nên cái ý nghĩ “phải xê dịch” cứ nhen nhóm trong đầu mình. Chỉ là hơi bất ngờ khi chị Thư đã rủ rê đâu vào đó. Mình được thêm vào nhóm Zalo cùng với anh Lâm họa sĩ, anh Lâm “cao tuổi” (biết anh Lâm từ chuyến đi Bangkok 2018 cũng chị Thư rủ, đây chính là 2 người trong nhóm bạn đại học trong truyền thuyết). Còn có đồng nghiệp hiện tại của chị Thư là Thảo - chiến thần lùng sục thông tin, thần đồng book chỗ, cánh tay nối dài của Google… Toàn dân hay la cà nên cũng không có gì lo lắng, mọi người quyết định ở Bangkok ít ngày rồi tập trung đi hội đèn lồng ở Chiang Mai, chốt luôn vé đắt nhất tìm được. À phải nói thêm, người chị quý hóa đã giới thiệu mình “Đạt - có thể tự mua vui là chính chứ không có kỹ năng gì đặc biệt”. Trong một vài đoạn chat khác thì “chị nhớ Đạt với Thảo đen lắm, hai đứa đừng đi nha”. Có nằm mơ chị Thư cũng không ngờ, những lời tiên đoán đã ứng nghiệm. Và đó chính là cội nguồn sức mạnh của đôi bàn tay “thúi ơi là thúi” mà mình đã trót mang qua đất Thái. 
NGÀY 1: SÀI GÒN → BANGKOK 
Lúc nào cũng xếp lịch trình khá nhồi nhét nên 13h30’ mình mới kết thúc công việc, trong khi 18h là máy bay cất cánh. Vội vội vàng vàng đóng gói hành lý ra sân bay, cuối cùng cũng suôn sẻ, chỉ bị đặt xe xong quên cầm điện thoại nên hớt hải chạy lên lấy, với đi nhầm cổng 20 thành 27 thôi. 
Thảo: Anh bay chuyến khác ạ?
Đạt: Hông, anh đi lộn, hèn chi thấy toàn người Ấn Độ.
Chỗ ngồi của mình gần cánh máy bay nên hơi ồn tiếng động cơ một chút, mỗi người trong nhóm tự đặt vé cho linh hoạt nên cũng không ngồi kế nhau. Nhưng nói chung là so với chuyến đi đầu tiên tới Bangkok cách đây 4 năm thì lần này êm đềm hơn hẳn.
Sau khi đáp xuống sân bay Don Mueang, tụi mình lấy sim ở cửa hàng True hết 160.000đ (anh Lâm mua trước, có quầy dễ tìm ở sân bay, nhân viên lắp sim cho mình luôn). Tiếp đó đặt xe trên app Bọlt (có dấu nặng, app đặt xe bao rẻ so với Sài Gòn). Đi qua trạm thu phí trên cao tốc nên gửi bác tài thêm 50 Baht. Chuyến này mọi chi phí cả nhóm đều ghi chú hết trên app Splitwise, rất tiện theo dõi ai thiếu ai cái gì.
Chỗ tụi mình nghỉ ngơi là Inn Station Hostel, nằm trong một hẻm nhỏ mà bác tài phải chạy 3 vòng cũng không tìm ra, cuối cùng phải gọi điện cho chủ nhà. Khu này có vẻ là khu người Hoa, ít hiện đại hơn khu tài chính Silom mà tụi mình đặt phòng năm 2018.
Vừa đặt vali xuống là cả nhóm book luôn xe tới quán ăn mà mình tìm được trên mạng. Hơn 10h đêm, thấy quán đóng cửa, cả nhóm đòi “xử trảm” làm mình hoảng hồn. May mà mọi người chưa “động thủ”, nhờ Thảo hỏi han, tụi mình phát hiện là quán đóng cửa là quán khác. Quán tụi mình cần tìm Lek Seafood nằm trong hẻm, đi bộ tầm 5 phút.
Không khí trong quán thân thiện, vừa có khách nước ngoài và có khách ruột nói chuyện rôm rả. Menu cũng khá đa dạng nên loay hoay chọn món khá lâu, cuối cùng gọi rau xào, cá hấp, hải sản tá lả, cơm chiên,... Nói chung món nào cũng ngon, tụi mình hạnh phúc xóa tan định kiến “đồ ăn Thái không hạp khẩu vị” đúc kết trong chuyến đi lần trước. Tuy nhiên niềm vui chưa kịp chui xuống bụng thì mình hứng chí gọi thêm thịt cua cà ri. Phải nói là chuyến này tay mình “thúi”, chọn món nào đen món đó.

Thịt cua nhiều và cảm giác tươi, nhưng vị cà ri cực mạnh gây khiếp đảm với 3 trong 5 trong người từng đi Nepal, Indonesia và được dịp “thưởng thức” cà ri suốt 24/7 hồi đó. Anh Lâm họa sĩ gọi món Pink Milk  - phổ biến không kém trà sữa ở Thái, mà tụi mình gọi là “sữa hồng thanh tẩy”. Màu hồng sáng chói và vị ngọt lịm của món uống này có thể nói là “ngang tài ngang sức” để tỷ thí với cua cà ri. Vị này mạnh có vị khác mạnh hơn, khiến lưỡi của bạn không kịp trở tay.
Mới đầu tưởng tổng thiệt hại ở quán Lek Seafood là 4.000 Baht, tụi mình tính cho 3 sao. Nhưng ai ngờ chỉ có gần 2.000 Baht, tự dưng đồ ăn ngon hơn hẳn. Sự “nhầm nhọt” là do quán đem ra 2 hóa đơn cho 2 lần gọi món, mà tụi mình “tài lanh” ngồi cộng lại, vì toàn tiếng Thái có ai biết gì đâu. Niềm vui chan chứa, mọi người xí xóa cho sai lầm gọi món cà ri cua của mình. Xin thú nhận, đó chỉ là lần vấp ngã đầu tiên trong chuyến này thôi. Đâu ai ngờ càng order thì càng sai trái, miệng ăn mà nước mắt rơi, đôi bàn tay xui xẻo chỉ còn biết đưa sang múc ké người bên cạnh.
Ăn xong, tụi mình đi bộ cho tiêu cơm tới quán bar Revolucion Cocktail. Vé vào cộng thêm một ly cocktail tự chọn là 300 Baht/người. Quán nhỏ, không khí cực cháy mà vẫn heathy&balance. Ở Sài Gòn mà biết quán nào giống vậy để lâu lâu xả stress cũng ổn phết. Cơ mà tụi mình vừa qua Bangkok cảm thấy êm đềm quá, chưa quẩy được. Gọi thêm vài shot cocktail mà vị ngọt như đường, “nhìn người khác nhảy mà không nhảy được thật khó chịu”. Và đó là lúc chai whisky Ballantine’s xuất hiện để cứu rỗi cuộc vui. Những cánh tay đưa lên, vài thân người lúc la lúc lắc. Mấy anh bartenders biểu diễn múa lửa theo đúng nghĩa, nhạc dập vào tai đùng đùng phê tới nóc.

Những cánh tay tiếp tục đưa lên, nhưng lần này có một người khuỵu xuống, oằn mình tống ra món hải sản cùng ly sữa hồng đầu tiên trên đất Thái (không phải Đạt, mặc dù Đạt uống cũng yếu). Tụi mình “dui dẻ” nghe nhạc, nốc rượu, uống thêm cocktail từ nhân viên và khách rót từ chai vô họng. 2h sáng, cả đám dắt díu nhau gọi xe, mua nước ở 7-11, rồi đi bộ về nhà. Đêm say ở Bangkok, cười lớ phớ với nhau “tưởng đêm mai tụi mình mới bét nhè như vầy”.
NGÀY 2: BANGKOK
Chị Thư quả quyết lần sau gọi hẳn rượu, 1 là say, 2 là về sớm, uống nhấp nhứ rất khó chịu. Anh Lâm đặt thuyết âm mưu chai whisky có gì đó “khum bình thường”, khi mọi người không ai gọi ai đều dậy từ 6-7 sáng. Theo lịch trình, cả nhóm lôi nhau tới chợ Chatuchak, phơi mình dưới cái nắng hơn 30 độ C như những con ma vất vưởng. Mơ màng, rệu rã, rụng rời. Chị Thư rút kinh nghiệm không bao giờ ghé lại chợ này nữa, những kẻ đi chơi “no shopping” như chị em ta không mua được gì ở chợ.
Buổi chiều tụi mình tắm mát tâm hồn trong Icon Siam. Khu food court gây tranh cãi vì Thảo cam đoan là không ngon, mọi người thấy cũng được. Nhưng nước cam, nước dừa ở đây thì ngon. 
Với triết lý được chị Thư truyền bá “desert nó có một cái bao tử khác”, tụi mình đã xếp hàng lấy số chờ ăn After You nổi tiếng (thật sự là xếp hàng “after you, you and you” luôn). Tiệm này cũng có phương châm tương đồng “There's always room for dessert”. Món toast bình thường, bingsu xôi xoài thì nhóm mình kẻ khen người chê. Riêng mình thích ăn bingsu mà bình thường ít được ăn, nên món này của After You cho 7 điểm. Về nhà, Thảo tức mình đọc review của dân tình về thương hiệu dessert trong truyền thuyết. Có người nói “Bánh kem ở After You mãi đỉnh, ăn bao nhiêu cũng không đã. Ngoại trừ bingsu thì món nào cũng ngon”. Nghe tới đó thấy chết trong lòng một ít.

Sau cả ngày chếch choáng vì bữa quẩy đêm trước, lại đi bộ mòn mỏi trong chợ và Icon Siam, tụi mình về hostel ngủ một mạch tới 8h tối. Tiết mục tối hôm đó là đi ăn ở quán địa phương gần nhà, ngon, rẻ. Trên đường về mắt anh Lâm phát sáng khi thấy tiệm chè đối diện. Cả nhóm tự động xoay 90 độ, băng qua đường, thẳng hướng quán chè như đội quân robot lập trình sẵn. Trong quán có chè giống như chè bánh lọt với sâm bổ lượng, tạm ổn.
Kết thúc ngày du lịch đầu tiên một cách nhẹ nhàng bằng mấy ván bài mèo nổ. Mình bốc trúng 2 lá bom trong 2 lượt đi đầu tiên, ngậm ngùi chịu phạt ăn bento siêu cay. Bàn tay đen “danh bất hư truyền” là vậy.
NGÀY 3: BANGKOK → CHIANG MAI
Sáng tụi mình ăn há cảo, mì xào ở quán người Hoa. Lại là một bữa ăn ưng bụng nữa. Ở quán này thì tụi mình thấy trà sữa xanh (green milk tea) ngon hơn trà sữa đỏ (Thai black milk tea).
Về nhà đóng gói hành lý, nhóm mình bay Lion Air tới Chiang Mai, vé khoảng 800.000đ. “Đóa hồng phương Bắc” từ trên cao nhìn xanh ngắt, xen kẽ những mái nhà đầy đủ màu sắc mà bạn có thể nghĩ tới được. Chiang Mai khá nhỏ với 1,2 triệu người sống ở khu đô thị, dù là thành phố lớn thứ nhì Thái Lan nhưng nhìn ít hiện đại hơn hẳn Bangkok.
Từ sân bay, do khó đặt xe nên tụi mình chọn đi taxi với giá cũng ổn. Chị điều phối xe có giọng nói nội lực “Thirty-ONEEEE please, number Thirty-TWOOOOOOO please”. Suốt ở Chiang Mai, tụi mình không đặt được xe 7 chỗ như ở Bangkok.
Hanina House mà Thảo đặt trên AirBnB là một ngôi nhà trong hẻm cực kỳ xinh xắn và dễ chịu. 
Buổi tối, do quán tụi mình tìm trên mạng quá đông nên ghé qua khu đồ ăn của chợ đêm. Dở!
Đi về trên một cây cầu đông nghẹt người. Lần đầu tiên mình nghe tiếng pháo hoa ở gần như vậy, còn thấy người bắn pháo từ trên cầu. Những khu phố Chiang Mai đêm trăng tròn, dịp lễ, đì đùng tiếng pháo.

NGÀY 4: CHIANG MAI
Buổi sáng, mình cùng Thảo với chị Thư định đi Vườn ươm xương rồng, nhưng do du lịch ngẫu hứng nên dậy trễ. Tụi mình định đi cafe ăn brunch, mà bếp nghỉ nên chuyển sang tới quán SP Chicken “hơn 3.000 review” - tiêu chí chọn quán ăn của Thảo. Đây chính là quán ngon nhất nhì trong chuyến đi Thái của mình, có trong danh sách Michelin Guide. Gà nướng nhỏ xíu, sốt ngon, xôi ngon (cơm thì không). Thịt bò xào, rau xào, gỏi đu đủ, sườn nướng… đều ngon bá chấy. Có chai soda mình kêu thì vị hơi chán. Rồi ăn gỏi đu đủ vét tới sợi cuối cùng xong trúng miếng ớt cay hít hà, phải xin Coca của chị Thư nốc lấy nốc để. Lúc tụi mình ăn là giữa sáng với trưa, vừa lau miệng xong thấy dòng người xếp hàng đông quá là đông. Chị Thư và Thảo hạnh phúc kiểu “evil”, mà Thảo nói là chỉ “cảm thấy vui vì hôm nay hên thôi”. Riêng mình lúc đó vẫn còn bị cay quá, không nghĩ được gì.
Quán cafe tụi mình chọn tránh nóng là The Baristro x Ping River. Quán nổi tiếng và xinh ngất ngây. Baristro không bật nhạc. Thảo nói “có nhạc một chút cảm giác như ở trên phim, vì trong phim lúc nào cũng có nhạc”. Chị Thư nói “với chị thì không có nhạc là một điểm cộng”. Baristro nhiều không gian để chụp ảnh cả trong nhà lẫn ngoài vườn, cạnh một đoạn nhỏ (và tù đọng) của dòng sông Ping uốn lượn khắp Chiang Mai.
Nước của Thảo và chị Thư đều ngon. Bingsu lá dứa ngon ngọt, 10 điểm. Bánh phô mai hoa đậu biếc “có sắc mà không có hương”. Bánh phô mai caramel mặn theo mình là ổn. Riêng ly Matcha Dừa mình gọi thì thôi, món xuất hiện đầu menu mà trà đắng một mình trà, dừa ngọt mặc kệ dừa. Xanh vỏ mà không có đỏ lòng, chỉ thấy đắng thôi.

Ăn uống xong, vì vườn xương rồng khá xa mà tiền xe từ 1.000-1.200 Baht, nên tụi mình chuyển hướng. Địa điểm tiếp theo là làng nghệ thuật xinh xắn Baan Kang Wat. Chỗ này giống như ngoại ô, xanh mát, nhẹ nhàng, góc nào cũng được chăm chút tỉ mỉ. Ngay lối vào là Kaptor Store, với nhân vật tự sáng tạo là vịt Kaptor, “biết mọi thứ nhưng không giỏi thứ gì; mọi người nghĩ đó là bất lợi nhưng theo cách tích cực thì vịt Kaptor có nền tảng để học mọi thứ mà nó muốn”. Ở tiệm này mình mua được bộ sticker để dán lên vali, vì băng chuyền lúc nào cũng có nhiều vali màu đen giống cái của mình quá.

Từ làng Baan Kang Wat, 3 người tụi mình đi qua The Riverside Bar & Restaurant luôn. Hai anh Lâm đã tới trước chọn bàn “tạm ổn”, vì mấy bàn có view đẹp để xem thả đen đã đặt hết rồi. Quán này thì tụi mình không gọi điện hay nhắn tin messenger được. Món ăn mức trung bình. Vừa đi về tầm 10h tối, tới cây cầu thì thấy pháo hoa bắn ồ ạt từ hướng nhà hàng ven sông tụi mình mới ngồi xong. Hơi tiếc.
NGÀY 5: CHIANG MAI
Cuối cùng cũng tới ngày đi thả đèn lồng, hôm trước (8/11) sân khấu bị cháy, nhưng ban tổ chức nói đêm nay (9/11) vẫn bình thường.
Mới sáng sớm tụi mình đã bị con ngỗng ở Bella Goose Cafe chơi một cú khá đau. Đi 5 người mà ai nấy đều có món sớm, còn mình với chị Thư chờ hơn 30 phút, chắc tại bếp quên vì toàn món đơn giản. Lúc sốt ruột hối bạn phục vụ, thấy bạn cũng hơi hoảng nhẹ, chắc tại ít thấy khách nổi cọc. Chuyến này toàn gặp dịch vụ toàn nhẹ nhàng lịch sự thân thiện, cả du khách xung quanh luôn.
4h30 chiều tụi mình tới nơi tập trung để xe đưa lên đồi thả đèn lồng, thời gian đi khoảng 1 tiếng với khá nhiều cua dốc. Tụi mình tham quan, đốt đèn cầy ở dưới gốc cây lớn để chụp hình (mọi người khác có cầu nguyện). Khu phục vụ thức ăn phân thành 3 nơi cho các hạng vé thường, VIP, Premium. Thức ăn ở khu Premium (vé cao nhất) cũng bình thường, ngon hơn food court của Icon Siam và chợ đêm gần nhà nghỉ ở Chiang Mai.
Nhờ Thảo phổ cập thông tin là mỗi 2 người cùng giữ đèn lồng cỡ hơn 5 phút cho tới khi đèn tự bay được, nên 10 chiếc đèn của tụi mình đều may mắn bay lên an toàn. Có mấy chiếc mang vác nhiều điều ước quá thì hơi chòng chành, lạng lách đánh võng một chút.
Tụi mình ngồi hàng ghế thứ 2 tính từ sân khấu vòng tròn. Hàng đầu cũng là một nhóm người Việt, mấy bạn nó còn nói “sao tụi này thả hay dữ, cái nào cái đó bay lên luôn”. Mới đầu liếc ngang còn thấy một anh quỳ xuống trước một chị, không biết đang vịn đèn hay cầu hôn nữa, nếu là vế sau thì thấy hơi ô dề đó.
Chắc chắn là cảnh thả đèn không phải nhiệm màu nh�� trong phim Disney rồi, thực tế là bạn phải dùng “khinh công” tránh mấy quả đèn bay lạc một chút. Trong cỡ 15 phút, vừa tập trung thả đèn vừa tránh mọi người xung quanh, nên nếu muốn có ảnh siêu đẹp thì chắc phải đi đông người hỗ trợ nhau và sắp xếp kế hoạch kỹ một chút.
Dù sao, trên quả đồi mát mẻ 20 độ C, đêm trăng thanh gió mát, giữa không khí lễ hội, khoảnh khắc cùng nhau thả đèn cũng đem lại cảm giác rất đặc biệt và hào hứng. Xứng đáng hơn 4,3 củ cho mỗi chiếc vé. Hy vọng điều ước của mọi người thành hiện thực, còn mình đen quá nên thấy mấy quả đèn bay hết lên là vui rồi ^^.

Location and Transportation The Ritz-Carlton Residences At MahaNakhon is located at 92 Narathiwat Ratchanakarin Road, Silom, Bangrak, Bangkok. The project is on Narathiwas Ratchanakarin Road, which connects Silom Road and North-South Sathon Road. So, the location allows entrance and exit from both directions. You can also get access to the project by the Green Line and the Blue Line SkyTrain. Because of a convenient location, you can visit the project by both private cars and public transportation.
If you want to get to the project by car, the main route is Narathiwat Ratchanakarin Road. The other two main roads to the project are Silom Road and Sathorn Road. To get there from Silom Road, head to the southeast to Soi Silom 9 for about 250 meters, you will find the project’s location. But if you come from Sathorn Road, head west along South Sathorn Road. When I first asked my friend where I should book my stay in Bangkok, her answer was – Bangkok Riverside. And, why not. After all, Bangkok’s riverside is the historic core of this magical city. Home to some of Bangkok’s best five-star hotels offering resort-style accommodation with incredible river views in a romantic setting, Bangkok Riverside reflects a constantly changing scene day and night. The area comes alive, especially after dark, with its glittering temples, shrines, and the Royal Palace. 
Although some of the plushest condominiums and corporate towers have been built over the past decade, the area has retained its unique cultural identity, exclusiveness and seductive charm. You’ll find many of Bangkok’s finest luxury hotels straddling the river, with generations-old restaurants and shops hemmed in between. It’s undoubtedly one of the most atmospheric neighbourhoods in Bangkok.
However, due to its prime location, Bangkok Riverside charges a premium over other areas for hotels and restaurants. Also, the district does not have Subway MRT and only one Skytrain station, Saphan Taksin.
