#Silverfish in Minecraft USe

Here's a big project I've been working on for a few weeks: a phylogenetic tree of everything in Minecraft! It would take ages to explain everything here, so if you want an explaination of any inclusions, exclusions, categorisations or Latin names PLEASE PLEASE PUHLEASE ask me I would love to answer any questions :3

At the bottom is the Origin of Life, which branches out into five kingdoms - amoebozoa, animalia, fungi, algae and plantae.

Amoebozoa is in pink. It branches into Sculk (latin name sculk sculk) and then into slimes (scindo uliginosus) and magma cubes (scindo igneum)

Animalia starts off in orange. It branches off into the five types of coral (Fire - millepora, horn - rugosa, tube - tubipora musica, bubble - Plerogyra sinuosa, brain - diploria). The second branch of animalia branches off to the sponge (in the phylum demospongiae) and then to molluscs and arthropods.

Moluscs first branches off to the shulker (duopartes purpur) then to the nautilus (latin name nautilus), the ghast (Exspiravita inferno) the heart of the sea (unknown latin name), the squid (Immiforma caeruleum) and the glow squid (Immiforma crepuscula). The heart of the sea and nautilus are both marked with a dagger symbol, indicating they are extinct.

Arthropods branches off to the enderman (gracillis sapiens) and the ender dragon (draconiforma finis). It also branches off into insects, featuring bees (bombus enormus) and silverfish (Lepisma saccharinum), as well as to arachnids, featuring the endermite (terminus limina), the spider (rufoculos nocturnis) and the cave spider (rufoculos caverna).

Carrying on from the branch of animalia is the sea pickle (Pyrosoma) and then the vertebrates, which are coloured in reddish orange. The first branch contains the Queen angelfish (Holacanthus ciliaris), the emperor red snapper (Lutjanus sebae) and the moorish idol (Zanclus cornutus). the second branch contains salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka). The third branch contains the yellowtail parrotfish (Sparisoma rubripinne), the clownfish (Amphiprion percula) and the dottyback (Diadem pseudochromis). The next branch contains cod (Gadus). the final fish branch contains the triggerfish (Abalistes stellatus), the pufferfish (Arothron meleagris) and the yellow tang (Zebrasoma flavescens).

Next the branch transitions into tetrapods. coming off this are amphibians, which includes the frog (Lithobates thermochroma) and the axolotl (Ambystoma mexicanum)

Name: Endermite

Debut: Minecraft

Endermite is so funny. You know Endermite? No one talks about Endermite! It's never Endermite who adorns a child's T-shirt or lunchbox. Isn't that sad? No, not really, because Endermite does not do much. But something it DOES do is "be funny", and that's enough for me! Like I always say, "hee hee"!

If you think about it for even just a few seconds, you'll realize that Endermite is actually quite cool! This is a bug from another dimension. Not ACTUALLY from the End, as its name implies, but some sort of realm in between dimensions. The only way they appear is by popping up occasionally when an Ender Pearl is used to teleport, and their existence actually reveals the biggest character flaw with the otherwise-perfect Endermen...

Endermen HATE Endermites! So much! They're the kind of person to hate a very specific bug, to the point of wanting to kill it! An Enderman would say "kill it with fire!" if you showed one a photo of your dear pet Endermite. That's not cool. To be fair, Endermites ARE hostile and try to kill Endermen whenever they get the chance, but counterpoint: a bug can do no wrong.

The reasoning behind adding the Endermites in the first place was to flesh out the Endermens' teleportation mechanic, with the idea that, like players using the Nether, Endermen would use an in-between dimension to travel more quickly. This dimension was full of "bad stuff" like Endermites, which would sometimes end up being brought along to the teleporation destination. So be nice to them! They're away from home, and probably scared!

It's taken me until seeing this screenshot to realize that Endermites actually have some tail-like segments behind the main big middle one! Rather larva-like. My original interpretation of them as incredibly nubby was hilarious, but I like this a lot, too! Makes them feel like they could actually move around, instead of being sessile on a branch like a scale insect.

Once upon a time, Endermites looked rather different than they do now! They were just a retextured Silverfish, and had two black eyes instead of their current single red eye. This design only lasted a little over a month.

But that's long enough to be immortalized in toy form! Endermite merchandise is rare, but it's very cool to see the original design actually got something! A very cute little figure, posed inquisitively. Whatever is over there (points over there) must be rather interesting!

There is also this mini figure, depicting TWO Endermites lurking around a moss block, and I really love it a lot! It may not be very play-ready- unless you want to play with a toy of a living moss block with beloved pet Endermites- but it just looks nice. A little scene! Bugs among the moss. A cute tiny display piece.

There is not much about Endermites, but I think there is enough to appreciate. And maybe something big will come, someday? Dinnerbone has mentioned an "ultimate plan" involving these silly little bugs, possibly involving the Ender Dragon egg... this was said in 2014, and it still has not happened. It most likely will not happen. But maybe it will! And maybe it will be big. Grand. Feature film-worthy. Look forward to "A Mite-y Fine Minecraft Movie", coming to theaters at a point in time!

Marinette: Cobblestone (in tribute to the cobblestone tools you keep using because you "don't want to run out of iron" even though mining with a cobblestone pickaxe is a pain in the ass)

Adrien: Wood planks (specifically the kind you forget to bring with you into the mine until you've got no torches, no tools, and no way to rebuild either of them)

Master Fu: The humble dirt block that you used to reach a high place and then forgot about

Alya: Crafting table (she helps to move the story along. In this season you also forgot to bring her into the mine)

Nino: Jukebox (He likes music, and I just like what he brings to the atmosphere)

Gabriel: Sculk shrieker (he makes bad things happen)

Chloe: Sculk sensor (she enables bad things to happen)

Kagami: Redstone (it takes a while to learn how she works but she's very cool)

Luka: Copper (he keeps getting new features but you can't make a pickaxe out of him)

Felix: Crimson planks (Huge crimson fungus trunks can be either thick or thin: thick trunks grow up in a 3×3-plus shape, with stray stems sometimes in the corners, while thin trunks grow straight up as a 1×1 column. To determine the size of huge crimson fungi, a random integer is chosen between 4 and 13 [inclusive]. There is then a 1⁄12 chance of that integer)

Making my own idea of what the minecraft movie could have been.

Steve wakes up alone, in the wilderness. He's got no idea whats going on, but its slightly implied that theres something off to him about where he is. He starts walking and messing around with stuff, maybe making some tools or a crafting bench. Then he finds a village, and is so happy to be around other people, but hes gotten there right at sunset, so all the villagers are locking up shop and hunkering in their homes. He's confused until he hears the zombies groans, and then is terrified and begs to hide in someones house. A nice family takes him in, and he falls asleep scared.

In the morning, he wakes up to see deep gouges and arrows stuck in the walls of many homes. He keeps looking, and starts to see creeper holes, and splatters of gore where a severly broken down iron golem defeated a few monsters. Days pass as he slowly gets accustomed to village life.

One day, he hears the bell being frantically rung and everyone going back to hide in their homes. The iron golem, which is barely working now, staggers to its feet to defend its home and people. Pillagers rush into the village, vindicators start cutting down doors, and a ravager smashes into the iron golem, finally breaking it. Steve's freaking out with the rest of the villagers, and those who arent killed are tied up to be brought back with the pillagers. Steve is one of those.

The pillagers go back to the mansion, where the Summoner tells steve that the pillagers are looking to bring a world destroying entity to the overworld. The summoner speaks reverently of it and the eternal darkness it will bring with it. Steve is terrified, but stands up to the summoner only to get cut by vexes.

Steve is later brought to the nether to be used as a distraction as the pillagers delve into the nether fortress. As they go through the nether, he sees the immense damage the pillagers have wrought upon the Piglins and their bastions, and feels really sad when he sees a baby pokin their head through a broken wall only to be pulled back by a parent. They reach the fortress, and steve is badly burnt by a blaze, but manages to get a few rods. He also manages to fight a wither, barely escaping, in order to remind the viewers that it ccould be the wither the pillagers are tring to summon.

On the way back, the pillagers spot an enderman and shoot at it, only to curse when the enderman grows enraged and kills one of the pillagers. A vindicator cuts it down, but doesnt take the pearl, which steve notices and does take.

Steve manages to escape the mansion, running off with an iron axe, some gold boots, the blaze rods, and the enderpearl. he also rescues another player prisoner, Alex. They escape, and alex helps Steve make the eye of ender, saying that the Pillagers want to tame the dragon that lives in the void and use it to shape the overworld into the wastes that is the End.

Steve and alex must then race to find the stronghold and get good enough gear to slay the dragon, while still dodging pillagers. Herobrine is teased as the first player who tried to kill the dragon, but no one knows what happened to him. Theres a funny scene where steve is super afraid of a silverfish but alex kills it easily. Theres a heartbreaking scene where they go back to the nether only to realize they dont want to kill the endermen either, but a piglin mother sees this and trades them a few enderpearls for steves boots.

They make it, they kill the dragon and alex takes the egg, the end fleets are teased if they want to make a second movie. Steve is sad about the loss of the village and about the devastation the piglins faced, but is happy to have made new friends. The end poem is read and steve cries about it, mourning a past he may never remember. the universe gives him a hug. THE END.

(Quite a few based on Minecraft Mobs)

So in this AU, Lo has an alternate ego where he is a thief who steals information and money from corrupt lords who support the Tu'la invading forces. In this he is dressed in dark blue to stand out in a building but to blend in with the greys and blues of the night while using a bright ice blue rapier. He wears 3-4 inch heels to both hide his height while making him 6'6-7, taller than the majority of guards he faces and the same height as Garroth.

He is very much a robin hood esc character but with a bit of a Catwoman esc charm of "I will seduce the guards if it comes down to it, especially the really hot DILF and MILF ones.". Is actively trying to love triangle himself with Katelyn and Garroth. (Was going for Dante but he is married, and Lo has some standards). Katelyn views Lo as annoying but fun while he is actively pissing Garroth off, both are trying to catch him. The only person pro-thief is Travis because as the thief, Lo made a book reference that was one of his favorites and Travis wants a book club so bad.

Lanternflies were interesting. They are true bugs and a type of Planthopper (Order: Hemiptera or true bugs)

I don’t know how to explain how hard it was to find a palette for the Blue Weevil. I THINK ITS ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE THAT SOME OF THEM HAVE SNOUTS AHHHHHHHH

Ah, yes, this is all definitely hypothetical. My suggestion would be to softlock a game of theirs(or softlock him into a game, depending on what game it is) - which doesn't usually require any coding, but does requires a deep understand of the game and potentially some bugs or glitches you can exploit. But it would be a good way to either ruin his progress in something or trap him in a game with no way out except to die or restart. I would avoid anything that could hardlock the game though, because that would probably hurt him or their device. If you want to use silverfish you could create a redstone contraption that triggers a flood of silverfish when he does an action like walking somewhere, opening a door, whatever else. It wouldn't be hard, just some tripwire, repeaters, and dispensers! Ooorrrrr you could just drop TNT onto his house in Minecraft. It's simple, fast, and works every time.

Dear Minecraft community: what the fuck

so I made a comment on a recent IBXToycat video about how I believe that mobs that are functionally pointless to us but have clear Aesthetic reasons for existing to fill the world a bit more, and that not everything needs to have a use (see column A: decorative blocks). I also mention how I was mad that he said something like "surely you don't want that!" because while cordial, it's invalidating that opinion, when in fact, you showed it, and could've just disagreed with it and moved on. you don't need to gaslight people into thinking they don't want something they want. and the example he used was "that's like asking for ugly blocks!" which is the DUMBEST TAKE since "phantoms are a good addition to the game". (my friend said that latter one once.) this is when I learned Minecraft has a community More divided than democrats and republicans, because people are trying to gaslight me into thinking I'm wrong and that's not what I want, and others are just straight up throwing verbal hands without even the courtesy of proper prose and debating (average YouTube comment section). so I have a message to y'all: WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!? seriously. why can't I have my opinion and be happy about it? why y'all gotta be at my throat like having "pointless" mobs for Ambiance and more life to the world with interactions (see tropical fish, glow squid, foxes) but these freaking industrialist types are at me FUMING that I could want something to make my vanilla world feel More alive than it is, like I'm personally slighting them. I was mad at the youtuber's take in comparing asking for "aesthetic mobs" to asking for "ugly blocks", even saying useless/pointless in place of aesthetic and Ambient. I want the firefly. it makes the swamp feel that much more lived in. seriously, if you are attacking people for having this opinion that "everything in minecraft should have a function and purpose, and shouldn't be just for aesthetic" you need to reflect on yourself.

goddamn industrialists. a list of mobs that are liteally or practically useless:

Foxes, bats, parrots, tropical fish, pufferfish, the sniffer, the squid, glow squid, sea turtles, Phantoms, silverfish, and endermites. (though the latter three are more so punishments.)

I want stuff like snails that decompose dropped food items, or owls that kill rabbits in the desert. I want stuff that makes the world feel more lived in.

I had a dream last night where I was in Content SMP, so I’m gonna write it down as much as I can remember

It started like it was supposed to be the first day of the SMP I think, but based on the surroundings it felt more like either there was a lot of prep done (fancy buildings, more elaborate mods, a Wynncraft style fighting system), or it wasn’t the first day and it was just my first day, I can’t remember/not sure.

I tagged along with Rat and I think Asai or Arathane, someone with an A name, and we went and did standard Minecraft stuff and explored for a while until we went to Winsweep's grand opening deal. When we got there though, this venue, a huge domed stadium, was filled with netherack for some reason, so Winsweep had hired a bunch of players to mine out the netherack so the celebration could begin.

Us three decide to join and help, and while I was mining out the netherack, a silverfish popped out of a block and I attacked it, but accidentally killed/broke this Warden that was being used as decoration (was posed and just standing there until the silverfish spawned and made it agro), which I got called out on and was just kinda like "I dunno man a silverfish spawned and your fragile warden got in the way."

A bit more mining later and Win called everyone over to sing him happy birthday. I kept mining cause I was upset at the accusatory way he asked about the warden, but I still sang along half-heartedly. Then I got teleported over to the center of the room where everyone had been turned into weird purple creatures, and Win was going on some speech about being respected and told us to sing again. This time no one sang and he got upset, though I can't remember what he did in response. Maybe killed someone cause once he flew off and everyone reverted back to normal avatars, everyone was in an uproar about how could he do this and stuff.

I for some reason went up to the upper floor of the place and mined a bit more netherack, where I found a block of netherite buried under the netherack. Which, Win did kill someone near me at some point cause I had a diamond pickaxe where before I had a wood one, so I picked that up from someone’s stuff dropping. So I grab this block of netherite, which seemed to be really important since it didn’t seem like anyone else had netherite stuff yet, and then Rat and Asai/Arathane come over and invite me to go chase down Win for what he did.

So we leave to chase Win, we get on this rocket or something and give chase through a section that was like the ultra wormholes from Pokémon USUM, and we get to this huge wall of portals that the rocket takes us through one and spits us out in a savannah biome where we find one random player who was not Win. Apparently we put in the wrong name when picking who this rocket was supposed to take us to, so we lost Win.

And that’s where I woke up. Dreams are weird man, but it was fun too

Listen I love games as a form of medium for role-playing characters. The options are limitless. These ARE minecraft OCs.

Top is Artaire, a necromancer with a rapier that literally pierces people's souls out of em. has tried and failed at lichdom like 3 separate times, they're really bad at it. I was notorious on that server for exactly that, and was a massive graverobber. I used them to try out some lighting stuff for fun, too, so the colors look super fucked up haha

Bottom is uh. A gorgon I never named, but played Religiously on an origins server. They can't go out in the daytime or rain, so most of the time they spend is underground, building elaborate mazes and dungeons. They were in charge of the Monsters side of things (as opposed to humans and dwarves), alongside a werewolf and a siren. Also silverfish show up with them Everywhere they are Crawling with them.
