Skarlet x Orphaned Child Reader

A/N: Friendly reminder it's canon that Skarlet is Shao Kahn's adopted daughter, and she eventually became zesty for him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The dead night streets of Outworld had Skarlet reminiscing her entire progress throughout life. Nostalgia wasn't a common feeling she faced, but when she does, it leaves her feeling somber.

She swore to herself she owes absolutely everything to Shao Kahn, her emperor, the one mighty being she admires and desires more than the blood of a pure Edenian.

She'll forever be grateful when he took her under his wing when she was just a young child.

Skarlet's mind drew back to the sandy earth as she heard rustling from the pile of rubbish behind her. She swiftly summoned a blood dagger, prepared for a fight.

"Show yourself! Or I'll make a midnight snack out of your blood!" Her voice hissed out a violent demand, out to whomever was following the mage.

But out, came a child, perhaps no younger than eight. She wore ragged clothing that provided some sort of warmth and her face had some dirt on it.

Skarlet calmed down and dispatched her blood weapon, seeing she was safe. But what was a child doing following her at night?

"Are you going to eat me? Please don't eat me." The child looked up at her with puppy eyes.

It was confusing why this was the first thing that came from the little girl, but Skarlet realized she did threaten to make whoever it was a snack. She couldn't help but smile lightly at the innocent misunderstanding.

"No, of course not. You just startled me, that's all. Why are you following me, young one?"

The child looked off and fiddled with her pointing fingers. "I-I thought you were just really pretty. I didn't mean to spook you, miss."

Skarlet chuckled lightly at the heartwarming compliment. "Well, thanks for the compliment. Where's your parents?"

"Parents? I don't have any." The child frowned, making Skarlet do the same as well.

"I know how you feel." Skarlet spoke before bending down to the girl's level. "How about this?" Skarlet said before reaching into her person and pulling out a small pouch, one used for currency.

"When it's morning and all the markets and buildings open, you buy a nice meal, find a place to be cleaned at, and try your absolute hardest to find someone who will care for you. Think you can do that for me?" Skarlet asked, placing the money in the child's hand. She knows what she's asking may be rather difficult, but the child doesn't know that.

"O-Okay! I can do that, miss! Thank you!" Your e/c sparkled at the gifted money.

Skarlet gently turned the kid around and gave an encouraging pat on the back. "Go on now, find somewhere safe to sleep." The child ran along, doing as she says.

Normally, anyone at Skarlet's rank would likely scorn from the filthy, peasant child, but she is no hypocrite. She has been in your shoes before. She knows what it's like living life on the cold street without parents to look after you.

It is not her place to just take you in as her own (too cliche, another time maybe) so she hopes the coins would help you out.

She hopes you get out the streets and grow into a powerful woman like she did. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Whoops accidentally did third person all the way until I realized too late haha

"I'm trying to make Halloween decorations, wanna help me out?" Your grilfriend nods at your proposal, sitting next to you, trying to understand what you are doing.

"Sugar…what is Halloween?" Well, it's just right that Skarlet coming from Outworld doesn't know about this Earthrealm tradition.

So you explain how it works to her, pumpkin forgotten, while you try to convey the meaning of this tradition.

"Okay, I got the hang of this, let me carve the pumpinks for you." Skarlet replies at the end, hand already reaching the knife inside the fruit.

"Are you sure? This pumpkin is so hard to carve-"

Skarlet stops you, forefinger on your mouth "I was a warrior, do you remember? No pumpkin can't defeat me."

So you accept, she is right after all. You decide to prepare some food and drink while Skarlet works so hard at the decorations, a little prize for her hard work.

You almost drop the tray with the snacks at the 12 carved pumpkins in front of you.

"I-Is that the oil warning light? And that the high engine coolant temperature warning light?" You blabber out too astonished by the sight in front of you, laying the tray on the nearest table.

"Yes! In the films we watched together, people always freaked out when they saw these symbols, so I thought they fit fine with this tradition!" Skarlet replies, honest joy in her eyes.

You listen, eyes wide. Then a laughter blossoms from your throat, getting as close as possible to your lover.

You kiss her plush lips the moment you are able to breathe normally, your hands cupping her cheeks.

"You are wonderful Skarlet."

She feels so betrayed. Not that you are dying, but that the universe would give her someone to love and then slowly take you away again. It doesn't seem fair, Skarlet has had so little in her life.

One of the last things you two do together is let Scarlet paint of portrait of you both. It's not much, but it's something Scarlet can keep long after you're gone.

Skarlet lifted her knife to her lps, tongue darting out to catch a few drops of blood dripping from the blade. She had been sent after a group of rebels on the outskirts of the Kuatan plains and tasked with eradicating them along with Shao Kahn’s newest assassin, Y/n. Skarlet hadn’t expected it to go well, new blood always ended up causing tension within the Kahns’ ranks, but the new girl was good; efficient. 

Y/n let out a hiss as she pulled her own blade free from her last victim and wiped it clean on the dead man’s cloak. Skarlet sheathed her blade with a flourish before sidling up to Y/n to see how she was fairing. There was a thin cut along Y/n’s collarbone and a thin trickle of blood trailing from it and disappearing down the line of her breast. Skarlet felt a rush of arousal at the sight, already turned on by the bloodbath they’d wrought. It didn’t hurt that Y/n hit many of her boxes when it came to women; the most important being that she was beautiful covered in blood.

“Someone got a lucky shot in, did they?” Skarlet purred, catching Y/n’ eye with a smirk. She let her eyes follow the trail of blood, licking her lips at how it bubbled just lightly along the wound before sliding out and down the smooth expanse of revealed skin. “Would be a shame to waste it.”

“Planning to drain me, Skarlet?” Y/n brought a finger up, smeared the blood around her finger tips and ignored the pinpricks of pain that followed. Skarlet was looking at her like she was a feast and Y/n couldn’t say she was bothered. Skarlet was gorgeous; creamy skin and ruby lips and the perfect amount of curve. Y/n had actually been a little more violent, giving her blows a little extra flourish, just to see the way Skarlet’s eyes lit up at the sight. She’d been warned that Skarlet got quite turned on when out on missions and Y/n had hoped she’d get to see it in person.

She wasn’t disappointed either. She held her finger out toward the blood mage and Skarlet instantly wrapped her lips around the offered digit, sucking and slurping the blood off her finger as her eyes became heavy with lust. Y/n smirked as Skarlet pulled back with a pop before diving in to press their lips together. The kiss was a heated clash of tongues as Skarlet made it her mission to taste every hidden crevice of her mouth. She wrapped her hands around Y/n’s waist, pulled her in so she could reach lower to cup her ample bosom and was rewarded with a low moan.

Before Y/n could reach up to wrap her own hands around Skarlet’s neck she felt something thick and wet wrap around her wrists. She pulled away from Skarlet with a yelp as her hands were yanked out and away from her body. A quick glance showed that it was Skarlet’s blood tentacles. She shivered as she felt more of the smooth, slippery appendages circle her legs, then her waist, lifting her fully from the ground. She glanced back at Skarlet who was watching her hungrily. 

“I wasn’t serious, Skarlet.” Y/n growled, straining to free her limbs. Skarlet smirked, stepping between her legs as her hands reached up to grope her breasts. She let out a whine as Skarlet’s long fingers kneaded the supple flesh, teasing what little skin was revealed by her clothes.

“After the way you teased me on this mission, I think I’ll have my fill of you, my dear.” Skarlet crooned. She leaned in, dragging her tongue against the shallow cut above Y/n’s breast, savoring the sweet tang of her fellow assassin’s blood. It took some fiddling and undoing the correct hooks but Skarlet managed to yank her top down below her breasts, hands eagerly wrapping around the tender flesh again as Y/n’s face grew flushed. “Your blood is delicious, my pretty little pet.” Skarlet added, licking her lips.
