This happens every time the mission calls stealth as optional. Every. time. Mirror prefers subtle approaches to infiltrating a corp's facility and extracting the objective with a gentle touch.
Meanwhile, Snowfire and Manco prefer to kick in the door and cause a distracting panic, steal stuff, get the objective, and then run out the building, hiding among the fleeing herd of employees so they're not caught. It frustrates Mirror that this kind of plan does work.

Poor Eragon, Brom had barely died, the boy didn't have time to process it properly and already had to travel again 😭, at least Murtagh was a great travel companion

I had to get all of my little buddies and put them with my book!!! Dragons have always been my special interest. The oldest ones are Saphira, the blue one, Goldie, the gold one, and Legend, the red and gold beanie baby-who was the first thing I ever bought with my own money.
The purple dragon is a puppet named Greebo-he has his own lore, let me know if y’all want a separate post about him. The beaded dragons are from Guatemala. The plump little fella is named Chonky Son. And the other Beanie baby is Scorch. He should have a sister named Magic but my younger cousins destroyed her :(((
The figures don’t have names but I can tell you that the cloud dragon is a queen and that the golden dragon is her devoted knight and lover. (They’re lesbians)

Kimolos island on fire now
“Oh my god Greece is so scorching hot and with the climate change it is going to be hotter for longer and worsen these extreme phenomena”
Tumblr media
For Americans, this is 73.4 - 59 degrees Fahrenheit range.
Also read this eye opening article. Even 50-60 degrees Celsius can not ignite a fire on their own (although it is easier if there is also prolonged drought and winds). However, imagine how much more unlikely it is to happen in the 23-15 degrees range! See what the real reason is:
Like I have said, by the looks of it, Greece will be soon also getting snowfires.
Because our brilliant state either is incompetent to confront or it supports

The death ask was soooooo good!! What if Killer made it to her in time before that outcome could happen? I’m sure he’d save her but i’m more curious how they’d take care of her afterwards 👁️👁️
Referencing this post:
Killer would save her, but more importantly, he would make the person that threatened her regret it. If Killer shortcutted into the clearing to find his wife bleeding, injured, his usual methods of killing are abandoned.
Normally, he doesn’t play around. He kills quickly and precisely. But when someone hurts you, he’s different. Killer makes you close your eyes before launching himself at the aggressor.
He kills them, slowly, stabbing them limb by limb, until Nightmare arrives and orders him to get the job done and help him bring you home.
You’re settled in the infirmary, each wound stitched and bandaged lovingly by Error and Horror, and there you stay until you are fully healed.
Killer, Cross, and Dust are the more 'clingy' members of the group when you're hurt. Killer and Dust take up either side of the bed in the infirmary, reading to you or watching television.
Killer will let Cross slide in-between you, especially since he's usually bringing you things—ice packs to calm the swelling, medication, water. Cross will run his fingers through your hair, massage your shoulders... anything he can do to make you more comfortable, to take away the furrow in your forehead and those hisses of pain he knows you're trying to hide from them.
Error pops in and out, and despite hating the sight of your wounds (and the thought of touching them again), insists he's the one to redress them. He's the best at stitching and working with fabric... it just makes sense. Anyone else would do a shitty job. He does (begrudgingly) let Cross deal with cleaning them.
Whenever Error's gone for more than a few hours, he returns with something to improve your mood, whether it be chocolate, new video games... whatever you want. At night, he strings a hammock overhead, though it's hard to fall asleep when he can see you tossing and turning.
Horror has an excellent grasp on human nutrition by the time something like this could happen. There's no doctor on hand to plan out your recovery meals, so he's the one who arranges everything. You need the right nutrients to heal yourself, but if the injury is anything affecting your digestive system, you'll need to lay off on certain food groups for a while.
He's making everything he can fresh from the garden; the fresher the magic poured into it, the more effective the food will be at healing you.
When he's not running himself ragged arranging meals, Horror's joining in on the family cuddle sessions and drowning you all in tea.
Nightmare would retrieve more sophisticated medicines and medical equipment for humans if ever you were hurt badly. He is the one to administer an IV to you, using his powers to sap away your fear. If you're particularly frightened of medical situations, he tries not to leave the room. Normally he won't manipulate your feelings like this, but you need to be calm so your body can recover.
Nightmare keeps order, delegating tasks among the boys and insisting they (mainly Horror and Cross) let him handle the load while they rest. When you are struggling to sleep, he brings in one of his instruments—a harp or a piano—and plays until your eyes close and your breathing is calm.
He'll never allow anything like this to happen ever again.

Alright buckle up y’all, I’ve got a book series recommendation and propaganda under the cut for any fans of the Inheritance Cycle.
If you read our beloved farmboy-turned-dragon-rider books and had a particular fondness for: the idea of an order of individuals chosen to be both partner and rider to powerful and beautiful magical creatures; Snowfire; an immortal evil that resurfaces in disguised and unexpected forms (specifically referencing the Draumar cult which we now know had influence in Galbatorix’s rise to power); and/or the juicy juicy drama of complicated parent-child relationships, then oh boy do I have a recommendation for you.
Mercedes Lackey’s Valdemar series, comprising of many, MANY individuals novels, trilogies, and short story anthologies. I don’t currently have a count for the exact total of published books, as I’ve been getting most of these from my local secondhand bookstore, but she’s been publishing these books since 1987 and is still writing them today in 2024.
Since this is such a huge collection, it can be hard to know where to start, so first of all I’d like to assure you that you can start pretty much anywhere, with any of the individual novels or series, so long as you make sure to find the first installment of that series. Personally I started with The Black Gryphon, which seems to be one of the chronologically earliest books; Arrows of the Queen of the Heralds of Valdemar trilogy would also be a good place to start, being the first published Valdemar book, though I haven’t actually read it yet—I only just got my copy today, actually!
At any rate, wherever you start, there’s a lot to look forward to. Lackey has a knack for writing characters with depth and complexity, giving them flaws that are so well balanced by endearments that even at their worst, you can still understand and empathize with them; she absolutely refuses to write idiot-plots, allowing her characters not only to remain consistent with their established characterizations, but also to communicate with each other and allow their relationships to evolve as the characters do. Characters are allowed to make mistakes, be vain and stubborn and prideful, get angry, get jealous, get scared, and yet afterward still be received with love and forgiveness when they apologize. The magic is beautifully described and, at least for me, easy to understand; the schemes are clever, diabolical, and exciting to watch unfold. There is true, pure evil in the villains, and satisfaction in their endings.
There’s also a decent amount of diversity, which may or may not be surprising, depending on what you’ve read of 80s/90s SFF. Of the handful of books I’ve read so far, here are my observations: Lackey writes fantastic and complex women full of depth, emotion, and ingenuity, each as different from each other as their backgrounds would demand. There are several canonically queer characters across the timeline, including a main protagonist. Lackey’s worldbuilding establishes several unique and disparate cultures, drawing clear influence from many non-European real life sources, with featured characters of those cultures given, in my opinion, respectful and appreciative spotlights. There are characters with disabilities, respected both by the narrative and the characters around them. There are also non-human cultures, characters, and protagonists!
As fantastic as I have been finding these books, it would be remiss of me not to add that these books will not be for everyone. They are firmly adult fantasy, and Lackey does not pull her punches when she wants her characters to suffer. There is torture, sexual assault, suicide. Not all of this is graphically described, but some certainly is; most of the graphic stuff I have so far read is of about the same intensity as the torture scenes of Inheritance, but some of the abstractions are much more intense, and I get the sense that some of what I haven’t yet read may be both graphic and visceral. That being said, if you could handle Game of Thrones’ graphic violence and assault but disliked the persistent pessimism of that series, this one might be right up your alley!
Anyway. That’s all from me for now. I’m off to go read about characters bonding with magical creatures somewhat beyond mortal ken and going on fantastic and harrowing magical adventures. :)

Snowfire is the team's muscle. Former army grunt turned "Street sam" (the nickname given to highly cyber'd folks in the shadows), Snow is a pretty chill dude who prefers to just relax and watch his trideo shows. However, get him mad (or better yet, motivated) and this griffon is going to ruin someone's day.
Although he has wings, Snow can't fly due to all the heavy cybernetics in him (and some loss of wing muscle mass). He can glide for a bit, so he has at least that going for him.
