but okay i think in a world where we go prue/cole paige/leo there’s not so much a need to save mark as he wouldn’t be used as a plot point so much as like just a straight love interest so we wouldn’t go dead man dating we could instead have someone who’s a mom of two young girls or something (because three is too on the nose) and kind of have the sisters have to work through their grief/trauma on that end while also having to save the day and then we could bring mark in on a seperate episode (or have him come in on that episode as like. the girl’s uncle or whatever kind of piper’s point of contact when guiding who i guess would be his sisters spirit like the human person piper talks to who kind of quickly realizes something afoot bc well he’s a smart guy and he and his sister were raised on these stories. so maybe something like that. and then you think it’s a one and done with a brief, fleeting connection but then all of a sudden him comes back in some type of professional capacity Do Not Ask Me How and now it’s like. dude who you don’t like work with but like kind of you do. but he knows you’re a witch. so piper has to devote some time to that because that’s just the woman she is. and then a couple episodes later mark himself is the innocent and it’s like just as he and piper might start getting close you know boom monster demon warlock attack something now his life’s in jeopardy and you know piper saves the day but mark almost died and mark’s like wow this is just kinda like how your life works huh? with demons and monsters and ghosts? and piper’s like haha yep it’s enough to scare about anyone away i think and mark says i’m not scared and they hold eye contact and then it seems like they’re about to kiss but then one of them chickens out because they’re endgame so we’ve got time to kill we have the luxury of making them wait. blah blah blah they’re together by the end of season 1.

OR since this au is a bit of an li swap what with prue/cole and paige/leo i think you know where i’m going with this one piper/kyle. But of course piper and kyle only work like. off a divorce or something something that really gets piper and Peak Cynic and a bit more stone cold because i can’t just drag kyle in in s1 a) he’s a bitch and b) he’s a dick and c) very much Not compatible with early seasons piper who is very trusting and forgiving and believes in second chances. meaning. what do i do? ladies n gentlemen,,,, piper/dan. and we start that season one by just having dan move in next door season one blah blah blah they’re cute they’re sweet they’re married by season 3 they have a daughter and a son (no wyatt and no chris tho bc dan is Not a whitelighter also their daughter would not be the twice blessed as again dan is Not a whitelighter so there’s no dark future thing going) but then in season 5 dan sacrifices himself (oh no 😓!) but then he comes back as a whitelighter (😃) but then like. he can’t be with piper anymore because he’s a whitelighter (😔) (paige and leo still haven’t gone full canon yet because of the rules they keep dancing around their emotions) but at least he’s not dead (🤗) psych he gets killed in season six by a darklighter (😯). teeing us up for piper/kyle s7 onward slowburn here’s the manifesto.

in regards to phoebe i feel like her and coop aren’t really ready yet to be endgame til at least s5 because before that i don’t think phoebe is like ready for undying eternal love like she’s just here for a good time so to keep her busy i think i’d probably flip it and reverse it go dex first in s1 a handsome charming artist a bit dull but who cares whoops pregnancy scare! yikes! kind of separate and don’t really see each other much after that because we’re still working with phoebe’s fear of commitment next up to bat in season two phoebe’s college arc is leslie instead of the kind of rivals to lovers thing they had going on in the workplace instead it is in academia where they are both studying psych and they are in constant competition with one another in fact we can even say this is where we start planting the seeds for advice columnist phoebe where the two of them actually host like a call in advice show on the local college radio and slowly fall in love there. but this all ends when they both graduate and leslie moves away and phoebe’s kind of hurt because that was the first guy she ever could have felt like potentially committing to. next up on the docket would be who jason? i feel we’re not ready for that. who does that leave me? note i am skipping drake in this reverse play because like prue/cole would still be too fresh we can’t do a casual demon romance yet because we’re still leaning in on the drama and fire and danger of a witch/demon romance to pull some shit like phoebe/drake. hmm. we could make up a guy land a pretty solid heartbreak on phoebe just to tee her up all that. because dex she wasn’t that into leslie she was but it was just fate that pulled them apart we need a third one to kinda solidify the fear that love is doomed. and then like in between we will be having one off dates. oh ooh bonus since paige is with leo we can give phoebe married norman reedus. that’s just a fun one. that’s just a fun lil kick in the shins. final guy pre coop to carry us into season for is ummm hmmmmm. miles and he dies. but this time we actually make miles fun and interesting and sexy and really just everything he wasn’t noah fence to the guy. hmm. miles jason dean fusion. shan’t elaborate. but something like that. and then s5 after being burned by love so many times here comes coop. add a couple more love interests as set ups by coop just to drag it out, and then phoop endgame.

Happy Birthday Babe

“Babe...happy birthday” you said as you nuzzled into Chris’ neck to give him a kiss. He stiffled awake and chuckled, “thank you baby”. He stretched along the bed as you got up to get ready, “where are you goin I don’t get my present?” He asked almost offended but you knew he was playing. “Well I would like to give it to you but we woke up late so maybe tonight” you said as you kissed him and walked over to the bathroom to shower. What Chris didn’t know was that you were planning a surprise party for him at his mom’s house along with your family who was in town from California. Scott was an angel in helping you set up a bit while you took Chris for breakfast in downtown Boston, then by lunch you two would switch so you can finish up the decorations and get the food ready. Your mother-in-law wanted to cook but you insisted that nor she or you would be stuck in the kitchen, you would simply order Chris’ favorite cuisines.

“So how do you feel on your magical day?” you asked Chris as you chewed on your crepes. “I feel great, I feel old” he chuckled, “I don’t know I’m so happy to be spending it with you baby” he said as he reached his hand across to squeeze yours. It seemed like he wanted to tell you something but he wasn’t sure whether it was the right time or not. “There’s a but isn’t there?” you asked, “No no, I’m just happy to be here another year”. What you didn’t know is that Chris longed for a family of his own. Being way younger than Chris you guys had talked about kids before you got married, he wanted kids even before you were husband and wife but you asked him to give you at least 4 years into marriage because you wanted to enjoy the married life with him before it all changed and frankly you were scared haha. But he knew never to push you especially when he agreed to wait four years. You guys were on your second year of marriage, it wasn’t perfect but it damn near was.

You guys walked around the Boston Harbor when you “ran into” Scott. “Happy birthday bro” Scott said as he brought Chris into a hug. “What are you doing here?!” Chris asked happy to see him, “oh you know just walking around, hey (Y/N) mind if I steal him for a bit?” Scott asked. “Uhh huh, see I don’t know what you two are up to but okay bro let’s go, (Y/N) you comin?” he asked confused as you were practically power walking away, “No honey that’s why he’s stealing you, I have to uhmmm, I have to finish something at work”, “it’s Saturday”, “Which is why I have to finish it fast because it’s due on Monday....okay bye see you later have fun be safe” you said as you sprinted towards the car.

Lisa was arranging the buffet as you finished blowing the balloons, your family was finishing setting up the tables. Between yours and Chris’ family it was definitely going to be a full house hence the extra tables. “Okay guys Chris and Scott are a few minutes away” you said, “lla mero viene Chris y Scott” you said to your mom.

“Is there a reason why you had to blindfold me?” Chris asked Scott as he tried hard to see through his blindfold. “Uhhh I just don’t want you to see where we’re going”.

You heard Scott open the door along with Chris’ footsteps following behind him. “Okay just stand here” Scott ordered Chris. Chris moved his hands up in defense, “I can’t see shit so I know it’s not smaht to move” he chuckled. “Okay take your blindfold off” Scott said as he was now standing next to you. “SURPRISE!!!!!” you all yelled in unison. Chris smiled big and covered his mouth in disbelief. He pointed a finger at Scott, “you fucka you pulled this shit”. “Are you kidding me no, its all (Y/N)!”. He looked around for you after he gave everyone a hug. “Thank you baby” he said as he squeezed you tightly and kissed you hard. “Anything for mi amor” you said, “oh anything?”, “CHRIStopher”, “what it’s my—”, “Tio Cwis!!” interrupted your 3yr old niece from your side of the family, “Tio Cwis happy birday!!” She said as she lept onto his arms and hugged him. You looked at how Chris interacted with her and you knew you’d been wanting that for a while.

Throughout the party you were playing with your nephews running around the yard playing tag and football. Chris was dousing a beer sitting next to your brothers catching up on life. “So when are you and my sister going to have kids?” One of them asked, “I don’t man it’s up to your sister, she calls the shahts” he said a bit embarrassed. He looked over to you and saw how much fun you were having with the kids, when he blew out his candles he wished you guys had one of your own sooner than later.

You and Chris were getting on your way back home to your family who was spending the time there the next week til they went back to California. Chris was driving when you spilled it out “I want a baby” you said. He thought you he didn’t hear you well at first “hmmm?”, “I said I want to give you a baby Chris, well I want a baby too” you specified. “Are you sure? I mean I know you wanted to wait a while honey” he asked. “Yes I am, I saw you with my niece and playing with my nephews didn’t help, honestly it just wasn’t about today baby, I’ve been wanting to tell you but somehow it never came up” you explained. “Well your family is home now so we can’t really make one” he joked. “Who says we have to make it at home? I thought it was a portable thing” you teased as you ran your hand up towards his crotch. His breath hitched, “here? Now?” he asked, “we can go to that mountain where it’s always empty and we can see the city” you batted your eyelashes at him. Chris didn’t hesitate to floor it towards that mountain before you knew it you were both there. He parked the car and instantly waited for you to jump into the backseat before doing so himself. He sat on the seat and pulled you onto his lap roughly kissing you. “Are you sure honey?” he asked, “yes baby this was your present I was talking about, it will be a baby, sorry it’s going to be about 9 months late” you joked.

-9 months later-

You were on the hospital bed tired from pushing as you looked onto Chris holding his son, Leo. He was a spitting image of Chris except he had your skin tone. “Happy late birthday baby” you almost whispered, Chris looked at you slightly confused until he got it, “ohhh haha thank you baby, this is the best gift ever” he said as he kissed you, his birthday wish came true after all

GOSH thank you so much for liking my old hq stuff enough to ask for more!! I’m not sure if I’ll get back to drawing bokuro soon, honestly? So I can’t promise that if I’ll go through with the suggestion it’ll be soon, but I’ll definitely keep it in mind for when the mood strikes!! And about the shop, I add to it whenever I feel there’s enough stuff piled up to? Though I plan to start adding more often than that from now on - I don’t really have anything for momo and kuroo to add on rb that isn’t already there, but as soon as I’ll have more of either of them I’ll remember to put them up! Thank you!!!!!! I actually used to have that same problem with shadows? However much I kept track of where the lightsource was and the shapes I was working with it always looked wrong, somehow - the way I fixed it was by adding more shadows, actually. If you’ll pick any of my colored pieces you’ll see I don’t really put down lights all that often, which means the base color ends up being my light color too, and everything else is just shadows getting darker the further I go from where the light hits the object I’m shading - generally, I use a soft tool like a brush or a marker to very roughly put down where I want the shadows to go, and then using the same tool I smudge and darken it till it looks right to me. I can’t really explain it any better than this? But I have a small tutorial for how I do this in my art tips tag, if you wanna give it a look!

It’s a mixture of both, actually! I like to look at clothing, both irl (on people I see, or stuff in the shops I visit, or even pics and movies and tv shows!) and drawn too - in anime and illustrations and manga and cartoons! I look at them and try to remember how they’re made, and then when I draw I think about it all and come up with my own by mixing stuff I liked from all those things - unless I see a piece of clothing that’d work just right as it is on a character, in which case I just draw it either as best as I can from memory or, if I have it, using a ref! It’s one of the things I find the most fun when drawing, I’m glad to hear you like what I come up with!! Thank you so much!!!

i forgot that you existed - lmao these dummies will never be over each other. bumped a bit because it would be good on the soundtrack for the fic i still kinda want someone to write where eliot gets brainwashed by the dark king who for god’s sake is not trying to bring back to life his beloved who died because of homophobia and gets catfished by his dead brother but is just a supernatural evil despot manipulating eliot’s pain and erasing his memories of quentin only to be defeated of course by the power of true love. weak showing to start but things quickly improve. 2/10

cruel summer - this is a song about being out of your mind with horniness for someone you would rather die than admit you’ve caught feelings for, which is.... VERY queliot. love eliot watching quentin at a hotel vending machine at night and insisting to himself, “i’m not dying.” good for a non-beast AU where quentin dates alice and eliot dates some non-possessed normie boy and they both get dumped finals week and get obliteratingly drunk in the physical kids’ cottage as bros and hook up and wake up like “LOL haha rebound sex” and then it happens again and they’re like, sure, you know, why not, you’re heartbroken, i’m heartbroken, let’s help each other forget about it by fucking like rabbits, except of course by august eliot is drunk in the back of the car crying like a baby coming home from the bar because he is not fine about all the times he has told quentin it’s fine. ALTERNATELY this is actually just quentin in the mosaic timeline after they hook up and he wakes up in the morning totally ready to talk about how they’re dating now and eliot is like LET’S NOT OVERTHINK THINGS and quentin’s like, haha yeah ok! and they keep having mindblowing outdoor sex but like as bros and quentin regrets every waking moment agreeing to pretend not to overthink things with his best friend who is amazing in bed and who also he is definitely falling in love with. “breakable heaven” is a good description of the mosaic timeline, because many pieces and because it broke by never happening. bonus point because “i love you, ain’t that the worse thing you ever heard?” is SO eliot and also SO quentin in related but distinct ways. 8/10

lover - UGH!!!! SO QUELIOT!!!! “have i known you twenty seconds or twenty years” vs. “i bond fast, time is an illusion.” “can i go where you go” for two people who have been thrown together and torn apart so many times is wildly romantic. “my heart’s been borrowed and your heart’s been blue” = i dated a possessed guy and then became a possessed guy and you are chronically depressed. “you’ll save all your dirtiest jokes for me” is all about eliot’s smirks. i ALREADY have feelings about taylor swift, a human being who spent most of her adult life ruled by the lingering wounds of having been uncool in eighth grade, putting in her big sweet love song the line, “and at every table i’ll save you a seat,” but i have SO MANY MORE feelings when i apply that to quentin coldwater, who ate lunch in the bathroom on days that julia was absent because of the horror of finding somewhere to sit in the high school cafeteria. 9/10

the man - margo says she hates this song because it’s white feminism but whenever she gets drunk at karaoke she makes quentin sing it with her. he always flips his hair on “i’d be just like leo in st tropez,” because he is the only other person besides taylor swift in america uncool enough to think that’s still a reference that conjures up associations of a sexy awesome playboy. 3/10

the archer - FUCKING!!!!!!!!!!! GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is... ok. ok. i’m calm. this is the eliot song of all time. “i’m ready for combat / i say i don’t want that / but what if i do” is about eliot’s reactivity and his fear that on some level he wants to blow everything up more than he wants to be loved. we don’t know what started the fight we see in the mosaic timeline but what we glimpse is very “cruelty wins in the movies”: this impulse to win by pushing the other person away to avoid your own vulnerability. “i’ve got a hundred thrown out speeches i almost said to you” is eliot unpossessed after quentin is alive but before he and alice have broken up thinking about all the apologetic true love confessions he made charlton watch him rehearse. “i search for your dark side / but what if i’m alright right right right here” is about refusing to believe in good things because they are so threatening when your formative experiences of love and family were so unsafe. “i cut off my nose just to spite my face / and i hate my reflection for years and years” is, quite literally, just the exact plot of 4x05. “i wake in the night / i pace like a ghost / the room is on fire / invisible smoke” is more A+ abandonment issues content, and i can’t even TALK about “all of my heroes die all alone” in the context of eliot waugh who FULLY has on MANY occasions raised a toast to living fast dying young and leaving a beautiful corpse and has never himself been wholly sure exactly how much he was kidding. “all the king’s horses and all the king’s men / couldn’t put me together again / cuz all of my enemies started out friends” is first of all a very funny thing for a former high king of fillory to say, and second upsetting because MOSAIC, PIECES, MINOR MENDINGS, ELIOT SEES HIMSELF AS A BROKEN THING, and third devastating because of how much of the Trauma Chalkboard involves times eliot has betrayed other people. ok FINE we can start talking about the refrains now, even though they CAUSE ME THE MOST PAIN. “help me hold on to you” is the subtext of every post-4x13 queliot fic for the very good reason that it’s the most vulnerable and beautiful and real thing eliot could ever say. “i’ve been the archer / i’ve been the prey” is again about eliot as a person full of regret for all the ways he has lashed out in his life against people other than the ones who wounded him so deeply. “screaming who could ever leave me darling / but who could stay” is sooooo eliot, with the drama and affect of it all (“darling!”), and the performed belief in his own excellence combined with his deep insecurity. “they see right through me” is about how he’s secretly afraid everyone can smell on him that he grew up on a farm in indiana, “can you see right through me” is about both fearing and hoping that quentin will see all of him, “i see right through me” is about how hard he’s lied to himself about wanting love. the best song in the world probably. 20/10.

i think he knows - my favorite thing about adult taylor swift referencing anything about adolescence is that taylor swift had a totally deranged abnormal adolescence because she spent the whole thing first trying to be famous and then actually being outrageously famous. so i love it when she says “it’s like i’m 17 nobody understands,” because when she was actually 17 she was dating a jonas brother for like 3 months and then writing break-up songs that made it sound like she was never that into it, so it’s like this idea of being 17 and hormonal in some kind of normal context where you actually are thinking about sex all day instead of meeting with your branding team. this is a fun idea to extrapolate to eliot & quentin, who were both miserable at 17 and never got the experience of devoting your brain full-time to all-consuming horniness for the first person to ever give you an orgasm, but who can now experience that with each other. also “his hands around a cold glass make me wanna know that body like it’s mine” is a queliot line because of my very strong personal headcanon that eliot is obsessed with quentin’s hands. 6/10

miss americana and the heartbreak prince - see above re: tswift & teenhood. "when i was 16 / lost in a film scene” is even better because actual teen taylor swift spent many hours of her life literally acting out on film these like pathologically normative high school scenarios that she never lived because she dropped out after ninth grade, and because this song is all about like, image vs reality but is also itself a fantasy? fucked up and weird, i love it. taylor swift spent so many years portraying her specific teen shame as being about her deep dweebery and i think it’s really funny that in this song she is still an outcast but now it is because she is like, too sexy and misbehaving, both through the line “they whisper in the hallways she’s a bad bad girl” and by setting it to basically a lana del rey track. i feel like this is a very eliot move, to rewrite your own history of exclusion as more glamorous and flattering than it was, to portray yourself as like this debauched rebel instead of a sad gay kid in a homophobic environment. eliot obviously was never enamored with this kind of stock teen americana imagery the way taylor was, but i think he has that same tension of deeply resenting one image while being very drawn to another one. extra point because “heartbreak prince” is such a hilarious and amazing way to describe quentin. 7/10

paper rings - good song for a very chill no-beast AU. “i like fancy things but i’d marry you with paper rings” is very eliot. it’s cute to imagine eliot reading all of the books besides quentin’s bed not because he likes them but because he wants to get to know quentin better. “i want your dreary mondays” is a nice thing for either of these dudes to hear. 5/10

cornelia street - all songs about being overwhelmed and terrified by love are about eliot waugh!!!!! especially songs where someone does something casually that is clearly not casual at all. it rules that both of the key metaphors in the verses are extremely quentin images: fresh page on the desk / card sharks playing games. stories and magic! thinking about eliot and quentin barefoot in a kitchen together makes me want to cry, for normal reasons. 8/10

death by a thousand cuts - i have to be honest, for a long time i thought it sucked that the best song on this album was actually not about queliot, but then i saw the light and realized that this is a song about how totally incomprehensible it is that you’re supposed to just move on with your life when someone you loved absolutely is no longer yours, so ACTUALLY, this song is totally about quentin after the mosaic! “i ask the traffic lights if it’ll be alright / they say i don’t know.” trying to be normal while secretly dying inside. “i look through the windows of this love, even though we boarded them up / chandelier’s still flickering here” = i said it was chill when you compartmentalized our 50 years as soulmates as something that happened to other people but actually the me i am right now wants you real bad! “what once was ours is no one’s now” because it happened in an alternate timeline that never existed. “you said it was a great love / one for the ages / but if the story’s over / why am i still writing pages” = you said it was kind of beautiful but also that wasn’t really me but if so then why do i want to bone you so bad. gets even more fucked up if you extend it properly into season 4. MY HEART MY HIPS MY BODY MY LOVE / TRYING TO FIND A PART OF ME THAT YOU DIDN’T TOUCH: a line i can only ever type in all-caps and about which i can say nothing because it is perfect. “gave up on me like i was a bad drug” is also very quentin reflecting bitterly on eliot. saying goodbye to your possessed ex is death by a thousand cuts because that’s how many times the monster sockpuppeting his body is going to randomly show up in your apartment covered in blood. the morning comes and you’re not my baby, because you have been possessed. flashbacks waking me up because i have PTSD now from watching your body murder like 80 people.  8/10

false god - jesus, does she really go london boy / soon you’ll get better / false god? her sequencing is so deranged. anyway i know i was JUST talking about my interest in fic where quentin and eliot get together but don’t necessarily talk out every single one of their 800 issues in the timespan covered by the story, but this song about make-up sex is still not very queliot to me, possibly because i cannot get past the dorkiness of taylor swift calling herself new york city. “you can't talk to me when I'm like this / daring you to leave me just so I can try and scare you” is pretty good though. “if you want to live your life live it here...” damn eliot waugh and taylor swift really are like the same person on the level of psychological architecture. i know i keep saying it but it keeps freaking me out. 4/10

afterglow - so THIS song about fighting actually DOES have very queliot vibes. and it’s funny, because i keep talking about eliot’s fear of lashing out and hurtfully pushing away people he loves, and i think he does have that impulse (”if you want to live your life live it here...” what did you MEAN eliot), and i also think he’s SUPER afraid of that within himself, partly because of how the dynamics of his childhood make anger and conflict really fraught for him... but actually the character we more often see being a huge dick because of his own issues is, in fact, quentin, and that is who this song about. we all know i am obsessed with the scene where quentin comes sheepishly back to alice apologizing for being an asshole because it’s so vulnerable and honest and such a powerful moment of growth for him... as robbed as i feel of like tearfully joyful queliot reunions i also feel robbed that we never got to see quentin and eliot have a moment like that together! 7/10

it’s nice to have a friend - i like this song but the way taylor talks about it always makes me kind of sad, because she draws this equivalence between being excited about a friend as a kid and being excited about romance as an adult that really does make it sound like she thinks in adulthood romance takes over a place that friendship used to occupy, instead of co-existing with it... but she’s also talked a lot about the importance of finding who her real friends are so idk maybe i’m being too hard on her and also oversensitive because of certain plot developments. “call my bluff / call you babe” is cute. card sharks! pet names! 5/10

Rewatching Kinpri SSS to feel better in general...I had started already while eating dinner today and finished episode 1, and I just finished episode 4, haha. Honestly, for all the shit the comments may say about the series, it’s such a warm and heartfelt series that I can’t help but go back to it... 

It makes me smile so much, you know? And every time we get to see each character’s story, I felt so happy to get to know them a little bit better, and also felt moved by their various histories... I dunno, it’s just a nice feeling... 

Plus, the art and the music were so good...like...you could really feel the amount of love and care that went into making SSS into a reality...as if the entire staff was like, “Finally, we can have an anime!” and put all their heart and soul into it, you know? Watching something where you can see and feel that kind of love and sentiment...it’s a great feeling... 

An aside, but as I’m watching this, I’ve reaffirmed for myself that yes, I really wish we got a prism show for the opening song (Shiny Seven Stars), yes my favorite song is Taiga’s, and yes my favorite character is Kakeru (even if by a tiny margin because Taiga is a super close second). Taiga’s song being my favorite is mainly because 1) Hatanaka Tasuku’s singing is out of this world even without my bias coloring my opinion, and 2) The music genre/style is just more my jam compared to all the other songs. A close second is Orange Flamingo because 1) It’s catchy as FUCK, 2) The visual imagery is hilarious and I remember it every time I hear the song which therefore puts a smile on my face, and 3) My Kakeru (well, and also CV Yashiro Taku) bias is extremely strong. And then in third I’d say is probably Joji’s Joker Kiss because 1) The style/genre is more in line with what I tend to like, 2) I actually really liked Ace a lot so by extension I kinda have to like Joji, and 3) I really liked the scene when the song got performed and the plot development happened...so listening to the song is a nice reminder of that scene. But then after having seen the SSS Super Live, I like these songs Even More now because of recalling the seiyuu’s various performances, lmao. ESPECIALLY Taku’s live performance of Orange Flamingo oh my god lmfao HE ACTUALLY HAD A PINK FAN. AND THEY REALLY MADE IT RAIN KAKERU DOLLARS LIKE... YES THANK YOU LMFAO. 

Going back to characters, it’s really hard to hate any of the main seven, tbh, especially after watching the anime. For instance, I used to feel like 0.1 things about Minato, but the anime made me finally understand his history and motivations, and truly see him as an important character of the series. Yeah, he might have a mostly supporting role, and he might not be flashy, but that doesn’t make him any less important. Also, the whole ordeal about feeling responsible towards the family, and yet having your own goals and aspirations, but then also feeling like you’re not enough to get to where you want to be... WHAT A GODDAMN MOOOOOOOD... So yeah Minato wins most relatable character award for me, lol. And then there’s Leo, who I almost disliked because of the excessive girliness (a personal preference mind you; totally fine if that’s just how he wants to be). But then I saw his episode, and was practically in tears because of the personal revelations he goes through in the episode. Like YAS we stan this up and coming QUEEN who is COMFORTABLE in his own skin and does WHATEVER THE HELL he wants with his style and looks because he is Leo and he is himself! 

And on that note, really the representation of gender and romantic diversity is really, really awesome. It’s there, and it’s blatantly obvious, and it’s not put in a fetish-y light, which is absolutely fantastic. Plus, it’s hilarious but amazing how each installment feels increasingly more gay (in a good way) lmfa. I love it so much, and look forward to possibly seeing other relationships coming to fruition asides from Louis and Shin’s. (’: 

Ugh god I just love this series a lot... and all the voice actors who are in it... And then on top of that I already liked Taku and Tasuku a lot (Kakeru and Taiga’s VAs), and they seem to be pretty good friends behind the scenes, so I really enjoy seeing their various on stage/in front of the camera interactions... You can really feel how chummy they are with each other and I really appreciate that, given the characters that they play. And really all the voice actors seem to really get along with each other so well... seeing them all collectively (lovingly) bully Masashi is always great fun, plus seeing Masashi just straight up get real emotional and passionate about Kinpri every single dang time he’s on stage is hilarious and amazing. 

There’s so much I appreciate about this franchise that I’m not even sure if I’m really being articulate enough. I’m not a diehard fan like the folks who faithfully play the game every day, or the folks who translate the game stories and magazine interviews, and it’s not like I’m rewatching the movies and the anime all the time or listening to the music 24/7. I also don’t love it so much that I’d go and watch all of Rainbow Live for added context to the universe that Kinpri is set in. But I’d like to think that this franchise has touched my heart in a way that is undeniable...I’ve felt it and I’ve recognized it, and I hope that others can see that for me, but also feel it for themselves, too.

no, it’s really awful and messy and nobody can really read it but me and i have weird writing habits that shouldn’t exist like crossing my cursive capital V’s, only the V’s, not the W’s and that small line is literally the only thing that makes my cursive capital V’s different from my print V’s; i also cross my T’s and H’s from right to left instead of left to right even though i’m right handed??, my cursive M’s, N’s and U’s look the same and good luck to me and everyone reading my handwriting when i write down words like “communication” also my lowercase k’s and h’s look almost exactly the same, the only thing that’s different is the distance between certain lines and since from grade 1 you’re taught to write in cursive instead of print in my country i try to write hangul in cursive as well because i can’t really get away from writing in cursive which results in my hangul being horrible, too (i try to write prettily during tests and when i know the prof/teacher is going to read it and i’ve got praised for it before, but when i do homework or something i write just as messily) MY HANDWRITING IS THE WORST but i don’t really care much because i go for speed instead of appearance when writing

170108 - Monte Cristo Arrival/Departure (Leo) & In The Heights Musical (N)

Today was quite the day…and I’m not sure I can separate it into parts so here goes nothing.

I started my day out going to see Leo arrive at Monte Cristo. I got there 3 hours before the start of the show, but it was already pretty crowded. Thank goodness for my height. It wasn’t very eventful per se, just good old gorgeous Jung Leo with his pretty hair and floppy wave back at us before he went into the theater.

Then I wandered over to the area of N’s musical In the Heights. To be honest with you, I didn’t have the highest expectations for his acting, but he was pretty good. Granted, I think a lot of us Starlights were just sort of laughing at all of Hakyeon’s cuteness (and boy was he cute!). It was also super fun to see him acting with Key! But one of my favorite things for the play was that his character “can’t speak Spanish” so he was like faking an accent and rolling his rs when he spoke. OMG, same, Hakyeon, same. The musical was really cute and I sort of almost cried.

Side note here: Before the play, I noticed the girl next to me had a Ravi on the background of one of her katalk rooms. Then she even sort of tapped my arm during a funny part in act 1. She tried to show me pictures of the kids at Ravi’s concert during intermission and spoke English to me. I told her i knew Korean and we talked about this and that (AKA VIXX). Then the person next to her was Japanese and I spoke to her for a second (she was a Key fan), but unfortunately having to switch between Korean and Japanese is hard on my poor little brain.

Back to the play, there were bits I didn’t understand because I don’t know Spanish. I never thought I would say I didn’t understand a play in Korea because I don’t know Spanish, haha! Plus, I was glad to have a seat on the left where N was a lot. Also, at curtain call Key and N came out at the same time and N picked him up by the waist and sort of spun him around, something he can’t do with VIXX…especially Hyogi who he probably learned it from^^

So I ended up seeing our cute N leave, then went back over to see Leo leave his musical. I know. You don’t have to say it. I know. Anyway, I knew there was another event for Japanese fans, so I was not worried about getting there in time. I didn’t have a good spot because the play was already over, but I was at least inside and had a stool.

None of the Korean fans seemed to realize there was an event, so I figured I should tell at least some of them. I stumbled through telling a small group, so at least they knew. I went back to my embroidery that I had been working on, and one of the people I had talked to about the event came over and talked to me. That was pretty fun, and we exchanged contact info. Turns out she was the mom of one of the kids there (she looked so young though!). She was really sweet~

Right, the hamster. Well, he came out right after the event and asked if we'd waited long (오래 기다렸지ㅇㅅㅇ?) told us to leave quickly because it was cold (추워 빨리 가ㅇㅅㅇ!) (it wasn't that bad). Haha. That kid. Gotta love him. When he left in his car, he got stuck for a minute behind a car that was pulling out, so everybody got to see him for a little bit.

So yes, even though you didn’t ask, I’d say i had a good day.
