Following its original release in 2014, a mix up at the pressing plant led to an unintended “variant” being made of the Breaking Bad: Original Score from the Television Series – Vol. 2 LP. Approximately 300 of these “Mixed Color” records were produced and randomly inserted before distribution. This unmarked Limited Edition Double Vinyl set was packaged in a deluxe full color gatefold jacket with two heavy stock printed inner pocket sleeves featuring copious images from the Emmy Award-winning TV show. 

One of the hardest BrBa variant vinyls to track down, but I eventually found one! 👀

Splatterhouse's original video game soundtrack is available on vinyl for $35 via Spacelab9. Shipping in August, the score is composed by Katsuro Tajima (Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection) and Yoshinori Kawamoto (Tekken 7, Star Fox Assault).

The album is pressed on 140-gram vinyl with two color variants: "Pustulent" green with purple splatter and "Mouldering Mansion" purple with black haze. It's housed in a gatefold jacket with artwork by Shagrat, liner notes from West Mansion: The Splatterhouse Homepage's Rob Strangman, and a 9x11 decoration.

Konami Soundtrack CD Compilations

I love Konami music! Recently I was asked to write the liner notes for Konami Classics: The Best of the NES vinyl from Spacelab9. It’s a varied collection of tracks from assorted Konami NES games, including Gradius, Castlevania, Double Dribble, Snake’s Revenge, Bayou Billy, Rush ‘n Attack, Stinger, Contra, Life Force, Jackal, Blades of Steel, Track & Field II, Base Wars, Laser Invasion, Crisis Force, and Monster in my Pocket. While it was released on Black Friday 2023, it seems to have sold out everywhere, though more copies did make their way out there. But I figured I’d take the opportunity to look at some other Konami CD compilations that have come out in Japan over the past several years.

Spacelab9 have revealed more details about the upcoming Dragon Age Vinyl box set. (It's a 70 track collection which will include songs from DA:O, DAII, DA:I, DLC and also some DA:I bard songs.)

I found this new info blurb about the cover art really interesting 👁️ (emphasis mine):

hello??? (the announcement blogpost for the vinyl contained the flavor text "From the land of Thedas, at the dawn of the Golden City".)

they also announced that the pre-sale for the box set was scheduled to begin April 27th (can't see it atm unless I'm missing it, maybe it's not yet started?) and that on the BioWare Gear Store it will begin on May 10th. each outlet will offer their own exclusive color variant of the vinyl.
