Okay so, might as well ramble about Trinidad and Tobago's folklore creatures!

First off is Papa Bois. He's the protector of the forests and animals that live within it. He is an old man with horns, hooves and leaves growing from his beard, and is also hairy. He can warn animals of approaching hunters with a hunting horn, and can shapeshift and lead hunters astray. However, he is benevolent once you do not harm the forest, and expects politeness from any person who encounters him.

Mama D'leau is Papa Bois' wife, and protector of the rivers. She is humanoid, save for her snake-like (I think similar to an huile/ anaconda?) lower half and hair made of snakes, which she combs with a golden brush.

Douens are the spirits of unbaptised children, appearing as small humanoids wearing large straw hats, with backwards-facing feet and no face save for a mouth. They are pranksters and will lead children into the woods. They can also mimic voices.

The Soucouyant is a vampire of sorts. During the day, she appears as an old woman, but at night, she sheds her skin and takes the form of a fireball. She then goes out to search for victims, sucking their blood and leaving blue-black marks on their skin. To "out" a soucouyant, you leave rice grains on the ground, which the sousouyant will count grain by grain. To kill one, you need to find the skin and rub salt and pepper on it.

The Lagahoo is basically our version of a werewolf. It can shapeshift into anything, but it usually have chains dragging from it and carries a coffin.

La Diablesse is basically a very beautiful woman with one leg ending in a hoof and wearing colonial-era clothing. She tempts men who wander lonely areas to follow her, usually ending up with the man being lost or dying.

But people do stuff like this all the time, and you put work into setting up, you're the one who had the idea for which characters say what, and at no point are *you* claiming to have come up with the originals. So... I see nothing wrong with the watermark. I'm with you on that.

And personally? This blog brings me so much joy. I love seeing the posts pop up on my dash. They brighten my day. Haters gonna hate because they can't find anything better to do.

I can see why someone might ask that anon's question, but they specifically did it in the worst way possible, and it sounded borderline like a troll.

It did sorta feel like a troll a little bit to me, and if I'm being totally honest, the fact that they sounded so upset about me watermarking my memes makes it seem like they're mad they can't yoink them and be like "this is mine" somewhere else. I don't wanna make assumptions, but that's the first thing my brain goes to

I'm not the only one who does stuff like this, as far as memes go, so like?????? What's the issue???????

In any case, I'm glad you enjoy the memes :P you saw some of this stuff way before everyone else because I dumped like 25 at a time on discord, on multiple occasions, but meh. It still makes you happy regardless, so I'm definitely not complaining

Hotter take: AI art is okay to use for coming up with ideas and references, but not to post online and call it your own art or call yourself an “AI artist” because your too lazy to actually learn how to draw

“Steal” actually meaning Save/Rescue

Hot take: AI is a valid tool for improving your cursory research and finding leads to chase, but not for shortcutting the work itself because you're lazy.

Recent Deadlander Hoaxe arts by @spectralgecko (huge fan of the concept!) reminded me about my own Wasp Kin AU, where some wasps (Assumingly those were *lieutenant* Fuff, a few of his fellow officers, and later - *princess* Vanessa II) acknowledged that the boy survived the Dead Lands as kid - thus, has some potential in him. Take in his extensive knowledge of Dead Lands, of how to survive here, endurance and willpower, add some grueling training with three times more demands from superiors to "even match wasps", then add a few chances to shine - you'll get him, Queen Vanessa the Second's Royal Agent. Swift, stealthy, deadly, mostly silent and with a huge disdain to specifically Dead Lander Gammas who he slaughters every time there is a chance (and sometimes brutally).

And yes, ask me more, I'm willing to answer aboot him
