In front of my house -

My Spirea plants are looking really great this year. Last year they didn’t have that many flowers on them . Just look at them now. 😯

I have two plants in front of my house and they both look good. I will take another shot of them when the sun/shade changes and they don’t look so blotchy.

Yeah, it was hot out there. 👇

I didn’t stay out there too long. For some reason 34C degrees doesn’t sound as hot as 94F to me 😂

Spiraea japonica (Japanese spiraea)

Japanese spirea is in full bloom right now and this bumble bee has it's work cut out. Each tiny flower has five petals and between 25 and 30 long stamens. Any bumble bee looking for a little nectar has to carefully step through a forest of these stamens, picking up plenty of pollen in the process.

Spiraea japonica can grow almost six feet tall (2m) with clusters of these rosy-pink flowers found at the tips of the branches. All in all, a Japanese spirea in full bloom represents a formidable amount of Flower Power. Mind you, I don't think this happy bumble bee is complaining one little bit.

In the morning sun

This is a look at my two Spirea bushes,soaking in some morning sun. In some other years the flowers have been more evenly distributed than this year.

Here is a closeup view, they are still pretty though..

Today will be sort of a rest day, but I still must face up to the dreaded H word, housecleaning 😬.

This game has completely consumed my brain, the adoration I feel for Radiant Tale is unreal, so have a baby Tifalia and the aftermath of her giving Radie a bath!!
