Just Tony in a three piece maroon suit. That's it. I worked on a similar suit last weekend and was inspired.
Maybe a more detailed version of this. Probably.

Unveiling the Allegations Against Smoothstack Inc.: A Closer Look at the Promises and Realities
Smoothstack Inc., a prominent employee staffing agency headquartered in McLean, Virginia, has recently found itself under scrutiny amidst allegations surrounding its recruitment practices and promises made to aspiring information technology (IT) professionals. The company, known for its commitment to kick-starting careers through paid training and work assignments with Fortune 500 firms, now faces legal challenges that cast doubt on its operations.
At the heart of the issue are the assurances made by Smoothstack to individuals entering the IT field. Recruits, eager to embark on their professional journeys, are enticed by the prospect of hands-on experience, mentorship, and the prestige of working with industry giants. Smoothstack's promises paint a picture of a seamless transition from training to employment, offering a pathway to success in the competitive IT landscape.
However, recent legal actions have shed light on a stark disparity between the expectations set by Smoothstack and the reality experienced by some recruits. Allegations suggest that rather than fulfilling its commitments, the company has fallen short in providing adequate training and meaningful employment opportunities. Instead of launching careers, some recruits claim to have been left in limbo, without the promised assignments or support.
These allegations raise fundamental questions about Smoothstack's business practices and ethical obligations. As an agency entrusted with guiding the next generation of IT professionals, it bears a responsibility to uphold the integrity of its promises and prioritize the well-being of its recruits. Failure to do so not only jeopardizes the trust of aspiring professionals but also undermines the credibility of the entire recruitment industry.
In response to the allegations, Smoothstack Inc. has reiterated its dedication to transparency and accountability. The company asserts that it is committed to addressing any concerns raised by recruits and ensuring that all engagements adhere to ethical standards. Furthermore, Smoothstack emphasizes its ongoing efforts to enhance its training programs and strengthen partnerships with client firms to create more robust career opportunities for its recruits.
Nevertheless, the legal proceedings against Smoothstack underscore the importance of due diligence for both prospective recruits and staffing agencies alike. Aspiring IT professionals are urged to thoroughly research and scrutinize any promises made by recruitment agencies, seeking clarity on training protocols, job placements, and contractual obligations. Likewise, agencies must prioritize honesty and integrity in their dealings with recruits, fostering an environment of trust and mutual benefit.
The outcome of the legal proceedings against Smoothstack remains uncertain, but the case serves as a poignant reminder of the complexities inherent in the recruitment industry. As stakeholders navigate these challenges, the focus must remain on empowering aspiring professionals and fostering a culture of accountability within the IT community. Only through collective efforts to uphold ethical standards can the industry continue to thrive and fulfill its promise of opportunity for all.
Instead, Recruits are subject to training that is unpaid or underpaid and tailored narrowly towards Smoothstack’s own needs. And soon after they start the training, Recruits are trapped: pursuant to Smoothstack’s Training Repayment Agreement Provision (“TRAP”), leaving the training before completing a mandatory billable hour requirement subjects Recruits to a crushing penalty upwards of $24,000.
Smoothstack Inc., already facing scrutiny over its recruitment practices, now finds itself embroiled in further controversy regarding its treatment of consultants. Once recruits complete their training, they transition into consultants, expecting to embark on lucrative assignments with clients. However, recent revelations shed light on a system that allegedly exploits consultants, trapping them in low-wage positions with punitive measures if they seek better opportunities.
Under the guise of providing career opportunities, Smoothstack assigns consultants to work with its clients, promising hands-on experience and a pathway to success. However, the reality for many consultants is far from the rosy picture painted by the company. Despite their qualifications and skills, consultants reportedly earn wages that are significantly lower than the market rate for their work, often amounting to approximately half of what they could earn elsewhere.
The situation worsens when considering the contractual obligations imposed by Smoothstack, which effectively bind consultants to their positions. Consultants are allegedly subjected to a "Training Reimbursement Agreement Program" (TRAP), which imposes exorbitant fees if they attempt to leave their positions before completing a mandatory billable hour requirement. This requirement effectively restricts consultants' mobility and prevents them from seeking better-paying opportunities elsewhere.
Furthermore, consultants who are removed from their assignments, whether due to performance issues or other reasons beyond their control, face a grim reality. Instead of swiftly finding new placements, consultants are left in limbo, waiting indefinitely for reassignment while earning minimum wage—a far cry from the promised career advancement and stability.
The allegations against Smoothstack's treatment of consultants highlight a concerning trend of exploitation within the staffing industry. By capitalizing on the aspirations of individuals eager to establish themselves in the IT field, Smoothstack allegedly subjects consultants to unfair and financially burdensome conditions, trapping them in a cycle of low wages and limited opportunities.
Smoothstack's response to these allegations will be crucial in determining the company's commitment to ethical business practices and the well-being of its employees. While the company may argue that its practices are standard within the industry, such arguments fail to address the fundamental issue of fairness and respect for workers' rights.
In light of these allegations, it is imperative for regulatory bodies and industry watchdogs to conduct thorough investigations into Smoothstack's operations and the broader practices of the staffing industry. Additionally, prospective consultants are urged to exercise caution and fully understand the terms of any agreements before committing to positions offered by staffing agencies.
Ultimately, the treatment of consultants by companies like Smoothstack raises broader questions about the ethics of the gig economy and the responsibilities of employers towards their workforce. As the legal proceedings unfold and public scrutiny intensifies, the case serves as a stark reminder of the need for greater accountability and transparency in the recruitment and staffing sector.
Smoothstack Inc., a leading employee staffing agency, boasts an enticing Consultant Program designed to propel the careers of aspiring IT professionals. Transitioning from recruits to consultants after completing the rigorous Training Program, individuals are promised access to a myriad of roles with prestigious clients, including Fortune 500 companies. However, recent scrutiny sheds light on the stark realities faced by consultants, raising questions about the fairness and transparency of Smoothstack's operations.
According to Smoothstack's website, consultants have the opportunity to work with renowned companies such as Accenture, Capital One, Morgan Stanley, Bloomberg, Johnson & Johnson, and Verizon. The allure of collaborating with industry giants is presented as a pivotal moment to "launch" the recruit's career, positioning Smoothstack as a gateway to success in the competitive IT landscape.
Despite the promise of prestigious assignments, the control over consultant placement lies firmly in Smoothstack's hands. Consultants are subject to the agency's discretion regarding client assignments, with Smoothstack taking charge of resume creation, marketing efforts, and interview arrangements. While this centralized approach may streamline the process, it also raises concerns about transparency and consultant autonomy.
Once assigned to a client, consultants earn an hourly wage ranging from $26.00 to $31.00—an attractive compensation package reflective of their expertise and contributions. However, the reality for consultants awaiting assignments is far less appealing. During these periods of inactivity, consultants are compensated at minimum wage, highlighting the precarious nature of their employment status.
Furthermore, consultants face additional hurdles in the form of the Training Reimbursement Agreement Program (TRAP). This contractual obligation binds consultants to Smoothstack, imposing significant financial penalties if they attempt to resign before fulfilling a mandatory billable hour requirement. Such constraints limit consultant mobility and autonomy, raising questions about the fairness of the terms imposed by Smoothstack.
The juxtaposition of promises and realities within Smoothstack's Consultant Program underscores broader concerns about the treatment of workers within the staffing industry. While the program offers valuable opportunities for career advancement, the constraints imposed on consultants raise ethical and legal questions about fairness, transparency, and worker rights.
In response to these allegations, Smoothstack must prioritize transparency and accountability, ensuring that its practices align with ethical standards and regulatory requirements. Additionally, prospective consultants are urged to exercise caution and conduct thorough due diligence before committing to positions offered by staffing agencies.
As the debate surrounding the treatment of consultants continues, stakeholders must work together to uphold the rights and well-being of workers in the IT industry. Only through collective efforts to address systemic issues can the industry truly fulfill its promise of opportunity and advancement for all.

303 Creative LLC V. Elenis: The Next Masterpiece Cakeshop?
By Morgan Polen, University of Pittsburgh Class of 2025
October 20, 2022
Tumblr media
You may remember the Supreme Court’s (in)famous 2018 ruling in Masterpiece Cakeshop, Ltd. v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission. A local Colorado baker, Jack Phillips, refused service to a gay couple, contending that same-sex marriage was contrary to his religious beliefs and that consequently, he did not have to furnish their wedding cake. The couple filed discrimination charges under the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act (CADA). SCOTUS ruled that the baker’s denial of service was protected under the Free Speech and Free Exercise Clauses of the First Amendment.
We arrive face-to-face with an analogous issue in 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis. Lorie Smith, a graphic and website designer based in Colorado, is challenging the same law that was said to have violated Phillips’s First Amendment rights. Lorie recently refused service to a gay couple, who inquired that she create a website celebrating their marriage. The Court for the Tenth Circuit upheld CADA’s authority to compel Lorie to create websites for same-sex couples [4]. Lorie appealed to SCOTUS, dubbing CADA anathema; the provision violated her First Amendment rights to express her beliefs [3]. The Supreme Court is expected to hear the case before the end of the year [5].
When considering the United States’s history of anti-discrimination laws, there are troughs of history and litigation to unpack. Before 1964, private establishments had every prerogative to choose its customers and thus deny service to many others. It was not until the passage of the Civil Rights Act (CRA) of 1964 and a corresponding SCOTUS ruling, Heart of Atlanta Motel, Inc. v. United States, that America saw the installation of federal anti-discrimination laws. Specifically, Title II of the CRA prohibits discrimination in public accommodations (e.g., restaurants, movie theaters, grocery stores, etc.) on the basis of race, color, national origin, or religion (though not on the basis of sex). Many states have similar provisions that also encompass sex, sexual orientation, and other social groups. Colorado’s Anti-Discrimination Act is one such example. Government-sanctioned anti-discrimination legislation has been foundational when it comes to ensuring everybody has access to public services and accommodations.
There exists an inextricable tension between anti-discrimination laws and First Amendment clauses. When does the freedom to exercise/of expression begin to encroach on one’s right not to be discriminated against? This is the heart of the argument of many people worried about the Supreme Court’s ruling in favor of Lorie. Relatedly, Employment Division v. Smith (1990) comes up yet again. Scalia authored the majority opinion, stating that one’s religious beliefs do not exempt an individual from a “valid and neutral law of general applicability” [2]. Such “civic obligations” may include requirements to provide one’s Social Security number, to pay taxes, to submit to a vaccine mandate or drug test, etc. [1]. Though it’s plausible that Smith is the next to fall, its relevance to the case at hand remains steadfast. Ambiguity still permeates the question of whether anti-discrimination laws are “civic obligations” that every citizen must adhere to.
It seems ostensibly conspicuous that Masterpiece Cakeshop will be the progeny to form the basis of 303 Creative’s decision. However, the stark flaw with the ruling in Masterpiece Cakeshop is that it was very narrowly tailored to the situation at hand and did not seem to generalize to any “bigger” issue. It neither did away with CADA nor stated that CADA was inherently unconstitutional. This blatant lack of clarification for what this means for prospective cases leaves many concerns unsettled. Can we carve out religious exceptions to anti-discrimination laws? Do anti-discrimination laws as a whole pose violations of one’s First Amendment rights? Most crucially, is “the right not to speak” synonymous with “the right to deny public services?”
While the Court has not set up any firm groundwork of applicability or precedent, many are extremely apprehensive that it may do so. If this becomes the case, the Court will have dug itself into an interminable trench of problems. In what sectors of life may such “religious exceptions” be permitted? Who defines what even constitutes a “religion?” Will the government be forced to expunge anti-discrimination laws and revert to total privatization of establishments? Society at large will be left to grapple with these conundrums as long as the Supreme Court continues with these vague, indeterminate rulings.

Phantom Pain (1)
FANDOM - MARVEL MCU
PAIRING - Bucky X Reader
WARNINGS - Bad Habits and Rough Sex, Angsty and Dark AF.
DESCRIPTION -  Everybody in the world knew of you, but not who you really were. Some called you a vigilante, some called you a criminal and some called you a hero but all of them called you The Phantom. Only two people knew your real identity and they swore to never tell anyone but when The Avengers need to infiltrate a high-security facility, Bruce Banner deduces that you’re the only one who can pull it off. That decision puts you and Bucky Barnes on a path you can’t turn back from, even if neither of like where it’s leading.
Tumblr media
Chapter One - Perks Of Being Dead
When The Avengers entered the briefing room there was already someone there. She was young, stunning and made the hair on the back of Bucky’s neck stand up.
He was trained to look for details, to see past the obvious and look for potential threats and weaknesses. His eyes roamed over you, taking in everything. At first glance, you seemed like a little rich girl who thought too much of herself and nothing more but simmering below the surface was so much more.
Your expensive high heels were well worn on the soles, but not so much they needed to be replaced. Your clothes were all tailor fitted except the cashmere cardigan wrapped around you. You were rich yes, but not spoilt. You wore your favorite shoes often and favored comfort over fashion.
The way you held yourself oozed confidence, from your casual leaned back position in the chair to your legs crossed at the ankle. But you weren’t posing or flashing yourself off. You weren’t the most conventionally attractive woman in the world, though not ugly by any stretch of the imagination. You sat in a way that let people see as much or as little of you as they chose, indicating that you didn’t care either way. Confident but not egotistical.
“I think you’re in the wrong room.” Bucky said, forgoing a polite greeting.
“No, I’m not.” You responded, almost dismissively.
“Miss King, you’re the heir to King Inc, the global tech and weapons company?” Sam asked and Bucky frowned.
He hadn’t heard of you or the company but judging by the reactions of everyone in the room he was the only one in the dark.
Tony chose that moment to sweep into the room and you smirked at him.
“Mr Snark.” You said with faux politeness.
“Well if it isn’t my favorite hot mess.” He said back with equal fervor.
You grinned and stood up, hugging him.
“So why have you summoned me?” You asked him.
“That was me, I asked you to come.” Bruce said, rushing into the room.
Your expression softened as you embraced the scientist warmly and to Bucky’s surprise, the normally nervous and timid man embraced you back.
His mind immediately spun through the possibilities. Were you a relative? You didn’t look like one but that didn’t rule it out.
“We have a security issue, as in security we need to get through. We need access to Hydra files but we don’t want them to know that we know what they are up to. We need a quiet way inside their system, without them noticing we were ever there.” Bruce explained, getting straight to the point.
“So you want me to break through Hydra’s cyber system?” You asked with what Bucky swore was relief.
Well that piqued his curiosity.
“If you don’t mind?” Bruce asked.
“She’d be happy to.” Tony cut in and you raised a brow at him.
Everybody waited impatiently while you and Stark had a mini stare off.
“What am I missing here? How is, no offense, a socialite going to help us break into Hydra?” Sam asked.
“None taken, and as well as being a pampered little princess I happen to be an excellent hacker. The best in fact.” You grinned.
“Debatable.” Tony coughed.
“How many times have I hacked your systems Snark? Twelve?”
“Thirteen I believe.” Friday interjected.
“Miss King is extremely talented, if anyone can get in it’s her.” Bruce added.
“So you’ll do it.” Natasha said and it wasn’t a question.
“I have some spare time, why not? Friday, you going to help me out with this?”You asked.
“Of course Miss King, it will be a pleasure to work with you again.”The AI responded.
“You’re only saying that because I’ve been inside you.”You said with a wicked smirk.
“Yet you still haven’t bought me dinner.”Friday sarked back.
“Ohhh, Minx.”You sassed back.
“Hey, no, stop flirting with my AI! And Friday, stop flirting back!” Tony admonished you.
“I’m going to need a lot more information about what I’m looking for.” You informed them, waving off Tony’s protests.
“I’ll show you what you need shall I?” Tony said and gesturing to the door.
“I’ll do it.” Bruce said quickly, standing up.
“It was nice to meet you all, seriously, I’m a big fan of The Avengers. Except for Iron Man, that guy is overrated.”You said, waving at them as you left.
“Says the B-List Kardashian.” Tony retorted, raising his voice so you could hear him as you walked away.
“Weak, you’re losing your edge Snark.” You called back.
The Avengers immediately launched into Tony with a verbal interrogation about who you were, how Bruce and Tony knew you and whether you could be trusted.
“A hacker? Really? I can barely switch my computer on, that’s why I just leave it in sleep mode.” You said to Bruce as he led you away.
“Sorry, we had to tell them something. It wasn’t a complete lie though, you can bypass all their security. And Stark’s.” He said with an apologetic shrug.
“Perks of being The Phantom Brucey. Perks of being dead.”
Eighteen Months Ago
He had just put his hand on the car door handle when someone came up behind him.
“Dr Banner?”
“Oh, uh hello. Can I help you?” He said, turning round to look at you with a nervous and suspicious frown.
“I’m Miss King, my father is Alexander King of King inc.” You said, offering your hand.
“I know your father, he’s a very smart man.”Bruce said, trying to find a compliment.
“Not as smart as you Dr Banner, I believe you are the worlds leading expert in Gamma Radiation?”
“I’m something of an expert but I’m very busy with other things and I’m already working with Stark Industries.”He said politely.
“I’m not trying to recruit you, well not for my father’s company. I need your help. The company is building something, something big and my father and my uncle have been acting weird for months now. Can you just look at these? Please?” You said, pulling a bunch of papers out of your bag and handing them to Bruce.
He pulled his glasses out of his shirt pocket and put them on, flicking through the papers. His expression got paler and paler until he looked up at you, horrified.
“These readings are...”
“Bad?”You supplied.
“Ionizing Radiation, Electromagnetic Radiation and Gamma Radiation readings are all off the charts. Where did you get these?” He asked.
“I knew something wasn’t right but I couldn’t find a reason to get into that section the facility so I bribed one of the techs to take a radiation detector inside, hidden in his suit. Yesterday he quit the company and moved to Japan... Apparently. I can’t get a hold of him.” You explained.
“Alright, you did the right thing bringing this to me. Where is this facility?” He asked.
You looked uncomfortable and scared.
“The facility is in Upstate New York. I stole an ID card from one of the scientists on the project and I can get you in the building. But the security systems are all biometric.” You told him.
“We can find a way in, don’t worry about that. You’ve done more than enough Miss King.”
“You can’t though, you can’t just break in. If my uncle finds out...”
“Your uncle is?”
“Secretary Of State. Thaddeus Ross.”
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
“Explain to me again why we’re sneaking in, with the help of a civilian?” Tony asked as they trudged through the woods surrounding the King Facility.
“Ross is up to something and if we kick down the doors he’ll know we know about it. And find a way to use the accords to make us pay for it.” Bruce explained, again.
“Hey.”
“Jesus Christ, what are you some kind of horror movie killer?” Tony asked, jumping at your sudden appearance.
“If I was, would I tell you?” You retorted.
“Nice to see you again Princess.” Tony said, smirking at you.
“You two know each other?” Bruce asked.
“We’ve met at various functions and parties. Princess is the new me according to the press.” Tony smirked.
You rolled your eyes. You were the only child of a multi-billionaire, set to inherit the company one day if you could dispense of your partying ways and the press liked to call you the Millennial Tony Stark.
“Can we just go? I want to get this over with.” You told them.
You led them to a side entrance, past Scully, the security guard who always fell asleep at his post after eating. You’d personally delivered a box of doughnuts to him twenty minutes prior. You held your finger up to your lips to indicate silence to the two men and Tony rolled his eyes at you.
“I know how to be stealthy, princess.”He whispered.
“Really? I thought you always liked to make an entrance.” You whispered back and Bruce smirked at the little exchange.
“Touche.”
Tony did something with his phone and the red lights on the security camera’s flickered off. The entrance door looked like nothing more than a normal door but you knew better. You placed your palm on a seemingly random brick on the wall which lit up and another section of the wall opened to reveal a retinal scan.
Once you were done you pulled your hand back opened the door.
“We’ve got it from here Miss King, you should leave.” Bruce warned you and you nodded, passing him the pilfered access card.
“The code is 269212. Good luck.” You told them.
Bruce nodded and Tony mock saluted you as they slipped through the door, closing it behind them. You counted to ten and opened it again, following them.
You had to know what your father was doing, you couldn’t just let them go without you so you silently followed them through the suspiciously empty halls.
Where the hell was everyone? Maybe it was just luck that the facility was empty, maybe it was a sign that this was going to go well.
You peered around the corner to watch Tony swipe the card through the door the west wing of the facility and darted out to stop it closing behind them. You popped your head through the door and slipped through, ducking behind a pillar before they could spot you. You followed them through the room, hiding behind pillars or filing cabinets so they didn’t turn around and see you.
The room was huge and strangely warm. You wiped the rapidly forming sweat off your brow as you ducked out of your current hiding place to get a better look at the large metal circular chamber in the dead centre of the room.
The two superhero’s were huddled over a computer screen and discussing something agitatedly but you couldn’t hear what. You had to get closer.
You tiptoed as close as you dared, ducking behind a desk to listen in. What you heard made your blood run cold.
“When that bomb goes off, and it’s going off Tony, the radiation is going to settle over New York and most of the state.” Bruce said.
“The reading are rising by the second, we shouldn’t even be in here. We’re going to need anti-radiation injections asap.”
“We’ve got minutes, not hours before this thing goes critical. The chamber is designed to contain the radiation, but the outer locks been broken. The only way to seal it is from the inside.”Bruce said heavily.
“I know what you’re thinking and no, this thing is Gamma radiated. We don’t know that the hulk can survive it or what it would do to you both if he did.”Tony snapped.
“One of us has to do it and I at least have a chance to survive. Millions will die if I don’t.” Bruce argued.
Tony opened his mouth to argue back when the two mens attention was drawn by the chamber door slamming closed and the lock clicking loudly. They rushed over to look through the small window on the door to see you stood inside.
“Princess, what the hell are you doing? Open this door right now, you’ll die in there.”
“My family built this, it has to be me.” You choked out.
The air was thick and there was no oxygen to be had. The glowing center of the chamber was so hot you were already drenched in sweat and your skin was quickly turning bright red. You were being cooked.
“Miss King if you don’t come out you’re going to die, the radiation will burn you up.” Bruce said through the glass.
“I have to do this, I brought you here to help, not to die.” You gasped.
Your skin was beginning to blister in front of your eyes and the pain was excruciating.
“Radiation levels rapidly rising!” Tony called to Bruce.
“Listen to me, we can still save you if you open the door.”
“It’s too late.” Tony said, just as your screams started.
“Listen to me, listen ok. You’re saving a lot of people, I’ll make sure they know you did that and your father will pay for this.”Tony swore, raising his voice so you could hear him.
The light was blinding him and he had to back away from the chamber. Your screams were bone chilling and Tony and Bruce felt sick.
The pain was like nothing you had ever experienced and all you could do was scream as smoke started curling off of your skin. The last thing you saw was your right hand vaporizing.
Present Day
“You’re not dead.” Bruce admonished.
“I kinda am Bruce.” You rebutted as he led you into his lab and forced you to sit down.
He pulled something out of a drawer and came over to you and you saw it was a stethoscope. He put the eartips in your ears and held the cold metal bud to your chest.
Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump.
“Your heart is beating, you’re alive.” He said kindly.
“Yeah, but I died. I literally burned alive, I was vaporized. And now I can walk through walls, I can disappear. I’m a ghost. I’m dead.”
“You aren’t dead.”
“Am so.”
“No, you’re changed. The radiation changed you on a molecular level, we’ve discussed this.”He argued.
“Have I started aging again? Or am I still frozen the way I was when I died?” You asked him.
He sighed and pulled his glasses off, shooting an annoyed look at you.
“Do we have to have this argument every time?” He asked.
“Fine, we’ll agree to disagree. Gimme the information I need to kick Hydra’s ass.” You said.
“Sneak in quietly and steal information...”
“Same thing.”

“Romanov.” Bucky said, getting Natasha’s attention before she left the room.
“Google her. Everything about her life is on Wikipedia. You don’t need me to do any digging to find out for you” She said, smirking at him and walking away.
“What about her secrets? Like the fact that she’s a world class hacker?” Bucky asked, catching up to the redhead.
“I’ll let you know when I find out more.” Natasha said begrudgingly.
“So you're suspicious of her as well?”
“I’m suspicious of everybody.”
So was he. He was extremely suspicious of you though, something about you just didn’t sit right with him and he was determined to find out why.

This was pretty much taking over my brain and I wanted to get it written out before I forgot it and then I realized there was no reason to wait a week to post it.... So here you are my children, The Phantom Origins.
I'd love to know what you think of this, it's quite a different type of thing to my other stories. Different style, different focuses. I can ditch it if you don't approve though.

So as I mentioned earlier today...I did some #MeToo-inspired re-writing to an old modern AU of mine, “Slayers and Stones”. You’ll find the edited version below- I’d love any feedback anyone can provide! If you’ve read the old version, I’d love to hear if the edits are working for you...and if this is your first time reading, those responses are also super valuable!
Her father calls her into his study early in the morning, a rare smile on his serious face as he passes her a laminated name badge.  “Your internship begins tomorrow.”
Sansa looks down at the red-and-gold tag.  The Lannister Inc. logo emblazoned across the top, her pseudonym  (“Alayne Stone,” she likes the sound of it well enough) in bold font below, and beneath that...
“Marketing and PR?”  She cannot keep a dark frown from pulling at her lips; Lannister Inc. has a top-notch corporate analysis program, and she’d hoped that she might have a chance to experience it first-hand...
But of course, this isn’t strictly a learning experience, is it?
“It’s the best place for you.  You’ll be privy to every nasty rumor that passes through that place, which is very, very useful to us.”  Ned Stark still wears his smile, but it has yet to reach his eyes- corporate espionage is not attractive to him, and if not for Jon Arryn’s urging, she doubts that he’d be encouraging her to do this in the first place.
“Besides, the PR department handles press releases, events, parties...it would be the most fun for you, love.”
Sansa grinds her molars together at that; she may have graduated cum laude from Bryn Mawr with plans to start at Harvard Business School in the fall, but in her father’s eyes, she’ll always be that giggly, vapid seventeen year old, throwing a tantrum because another girl wore the same dress to the prom.
But she just smiles back and nods.  “I’m sure you’re right, Daddy.  I’ll go and do my best.”
“That’s my girl.”  And in spite of her annoyance, Sansa feels a flush of pride at her father’s affectionate words, and she eagerly steps into his open arms and lets him hug her tight.
-
“You’ll fit right in over at Lannister.  They’ve got a thing for blondes.”
Sansa glares at her brother, who leans casually against the doorframe of her bedroom.  She reaches up to run a self-conscious hand through her newly-highlighted hair; auburn curls now shine strawberry-blonde, and she has yet to become used to it.
When she doesn’t answer, Robb steps into the room and crosses his arms over his chest, a bright smile on his handsome face.  “What are you planning to wear?”
“That.”  She gestures to her closet door, where she’s hung the sensible pantsuit that her mother gave her right after graduation- “Classic, good for interviews,” Catelyn Stark had said.
Robb plucks at the fabric before shaking his head in distaste.  “Sansa, I’ve been to Lannister Inc.  You can’t wear that...you’ll stick out like a sore thumb.”
It’s not like her brother to pay attention to women’s fashion; the novelty of the conversation is enough to hold Sansa’s interest.  “It’s a high-powered corporation.  You’re telling me that the women don’t wear business suits?”
“They do...but not like that.”  She’s starting to understand his implication, and her cheeks blush, just a little.
“Then what should I wear, Robb?”
To her surprise, her brother opens her closet door and begins to rifle through her clothing.  It’s a comical sight, and she laughs.
“You seem to know your way around a girl’s closet.  Do you pick out outfits for Jeyne, too?”
He makes some retort, but his head is buried deep enough in the closet that she cannot make out the words.  Finally, he re-emerges, passing her a set of hangers and a pair of shoes.
“There.  That’s what you should wear.”
Sansa huffs an incredulous breath through her nose- her brother has selected a black cocktail dress, short and tight.  The other hanger holds a fitted black blazer, and the shoes are four-inch stiletto heels.
“What, is Lannister, Inc. an elaborate cover for a fancy prostitution ring?”
Robb rolls his eyes and smirks before heading to the door.
“Fine, don’t listen to me.  But you’ll go there tomorrow, and you’ll see that I was just trying to help.”
When Robb leaves, Sansa evaluates her options.  And with a beleaguered sigh, she places the sensible pantsuit back in her closet.
 -
When she arrives at the skyscraper that houses Lannister Inc., Sansa realizes that Robb was completely correct.  There are more svelte, leggy blondes here than there are at Conde Nast, everyone dressed to the nines.  And not just the women; every man here looks like he walked off the set of a GQ photo shoot.  She thinks for a moment of the lax dress code at Stark Incorporated: her father’s worn Frye boots, Robb’s polo-and-khaki uniform, Theon’s leather jacket.  The comparison makes her giggle under her breath.
After a brief meeting with Kevan Lannister, the head of HR (an older, somewhat stern man, but pleasant enough), she’s ushered into the office of Genna Frey, the director of marketing.  She takes a seat beside a handsome blonde man who appears about her age; her heartbeat skips when he smiles at her and asks her name, but the excitement quickly abates when he continues to speak, and she realizes how dreadful, pompous, and unpleasant he is.  She makes a mental note to stay clear of this one ( Jeffrey, was it?) and turns her attention to the heavy-set, no-nonsense woman behind the wide mahogany desk.
The tasks she sets for the interns are very menial at first: archiving press clippings, calling publications to follow up on print deadlines.  Sansa is a good listener, always has been, but even her best efforts at eavesdropping reap few results.  She returns home each evening with dread building in her stomach, for she hates to look at her father and Uncle Jon night after night and tell them that no, she still hasn’t learned anything new.  Failure sits heavily on her shoulders and keeps her awake deep into the night.
And yet she forces down coffee after coffee (even sneaking the occasional Adderall from Arya’s medicine cabinet) and throws herself into the work.  Tedious as it is, she strives to surpass the other interns, and when Ms. Frey lectures her co-workers, holding up Alayne’s work and declaring, “This is how you document.  I don’t want to see any more half-assed shit from you people, I want to see this ,” she blushes as brightly as she does at her father’s praise.
Finally, at long last, Sansa receives a reward for her hard work.  There’s a meeting scheduled with the senior executives to discuss “the family matter”, and Genna invites her to come along and take notes.
(She does not invite Joffrey into the closed-door session, in spite of his Lannister blood, and Sansa feels a sudden admiration for Genna’s value of talent over nepotism.)
Sansa is, of course, well acquainted with the PR disaster that has befallen Lannister Incorporated.  In fact, it would not exist at all without Ned Stark and Jon Arryn; they gained knowledge of the story from an executive at the Baratheon Corporation, and they’ve installed Sansa at Lannister to report on the fall-out.
Goosebumps prickle up and down her arms as she takes a seat beside Genna.  The CEO is not present- in the weeks since she started here, Sansa has never once seen the mysterious Tywin Lannister, and she finds herself imagining him as a disembodied head surrounded by smoke, like the Wizard of Oz.  But Kevan is here, along with CFO Petyr Baelish, Junior Vice President Tyrion Lannister, and Senior Vice President Jaime Lannister.
Everyone at the table appears tense, but as she looks at the man seated directly across from her, she thinks that she’s never seen a person more drained and empty-looking than Jaime Lannister.
She’s noticed him before, of course, sauntering down the hallways in his perfectly-tailored Italian suits, golden hair neatly combed back, tall and confident and devastatingly handsome.  The junior associates whisper his legend in the break room and by the water cooler- he’s a ruthless, predatory raider, known for crushing smaller companies beneath his feet and pillaging the spoils.  “The Slayer,” they call him in tones of hushed reverence.  She’s watched with distaste as assistant after intern after associate tries to flirt with him, only to be rebuffed by a distant smile and words of cool courtesy.  He’s only spoken to Sansa once, asking to borrow a pen and Post-It.  But he winked at her when he handed the pen back, and she’s sure that the smile she gave him in reply was every bit as insipid as the ones she’d seen from all those other silly girls.
But now he does not look at anyone.  He leans back in his chair and closes his eyes as Tyrion catalogues the leaked information.  And it is, as Genna would say, an absolute shitstorm.  The former junior vice president, Cersei Lannister, had listened to some extremely bad advice and made an absurd, careless power play for the company.  Her illicit dealings and failed investments cost Lannister Inc. millions of dollars, and reports of her questionable character and distasteful personal life brought shame and derision upon the mighty Lannister dynasty.
Tyrion concludes his report by informing everyone that Cersei has been removed from public view and will be unable to do any more harm to the family or the company.
 “Where is she?”
Jaime’s voice rings out rather more loudly than is appropriate, and no one can bring themselves to look at him.
(Sansa thinks of some of the more salacious rumors that Jon Arryn has drummed up about Cersei Lannister and her handsome brother, but Uncle Jon has always had a flair for the dramatic...)
 “It doesn’t matter, Jaime...”
“What do you mean, it doesn’t matter?”  He turns on his brother, emerald-green eyes flashing with rage, and Tyrion, usually so poised and glib, actually appears a bit frightened.
But the moment passes quickly, and the younger Lannister brother speaks in as even a tone as he ever does.
“I mean that we need to distance ourselves from her, for the sake of the company.  Any outward show of support would make us all look weaker...but if she’s just the bad egg, that’s something that could happen to any family.  She’s an embarrassment, and we need to acknowledge that.”
Suddenly, Sansa feels a discordant twang in her stomach at the coldness of it all.  Yes, Cersei Lannister is a class-A fuck-up, but she’s still their sister, still one of them...and to just abandon her like that...
Her voice sounds strange in her ears, as though it belongs to someone else.  “But she’s your sister.”
Every head whips around to stare at Sansa; Genna’s face glows red with rage as she mutters, “Alayne.  Be quiet.”
“What was that, Miss Stone?” Tyrion asks.
She knows that she should shut up, that she must shut up.  But the words fall from her lips of their own accord- “She’s family...how can you just hide her somewhere and...and throw her away…?”
“Alayne.  Go get my Starbucks order and leave it on my desk.   Now, ” Genna seethes.
As she rises from her chair, trying and failing to keep from shaking, she happens to glance across the table.  Jaime Lannister watches her, beautiful eyes unblinking and intense.
And then his lips curve into a smile.
 -
When she arrives at work the next day, Sansa finds herself immediately re-routed to HR.  Her stomach sinks; she hasn’t told her father about the disaster of yesterday’s meeting, and she has no idea how she’ll explain getting fired...
But Kevan Lannister barely even speaks to her before directing her to a conference room.  “Go in, please,” he says.
She mentally steels herself for an apoplectic Genna or a sneering Mr. Baelish, but she finds herself face to face with Brienne Tarth instead.
Sansa took an immediate liking to Jaime Lannister’s executive assistant; she rejects the couture that is the office standard in favor of loose, comfortable suits (“Probably buys them at the Big and Tall Men’s Wearhouse,” one of the catty, pretty office drones once snarked), and she gives off an undeniable air of competence.  She’s calm, collected, capable, and discreet, and Sansa considers these qualities far more valuable than any pretty facade.
“Please sit down, Miss Stone,” Brienne says, gesturing to a chair.  Sansa sits and waits for the other woman to continue.
“I don’t know if you’ve heard, but I’ve just been promoted.”
“Oh!  Congratulations,” Sansa replies, and Brienne’s pretty blue eyes crinkle in a grin.
“Thanks.  It’s a great opportunity for me- I’ll be a junior associate in the Boston office.”
 “Then you’re leaving?”
“Yes, I move at the end of the week.  And that’s why I’ve called you in.”
“Oh?”  Sansa lifts a brow in surprise, while her insides jiggle in a hopeful dance- maybe I’m not getting fired...oh, thank God...
“The thing is, this all happened really suddenly, and HR’s been so backed up lately that they haven’t really had time to deal with new hires.  Finding a replacement for me will definitely be a long process, lots of interviews...I’ve been with Jaime for five years, and he’s...very particular.”
“Of course.”   Five years, that’s a long time...but it makes sense, he obviously relies on her so much...
“Anyway, until we can find someone he’ll like, we need a person to sit at that desk and answer his phones and manage his calendar.  It will be a lot more hours than what you’re used to, at the same intern pay rate, so I completely understand if you don’t want to take on the added responsibility-”
“You want me to be Jaime Lannister’s assistant?”
She must be quite a sight- eyes wide, mouth slightly ajar- because Brienne laughs brightly before nodding.
“He asked for you specifically.  Will you do it?”
Sansa thinks of the locked folders on the company drive, filled with information only available to the top executives and their assistants- she imagines having access to Jaime’s calendar, intimate knowledge of the second-in-command’s comings-and-goings...she begins to salivate, and she swallows it down.
A red-gold ponytail bobs up and down as she eagerly nods.
 “Oh, yes.  Thank you.”
 -
She should have known better.  Sansa curses herself for her naivety; just because Jaime gave Brienne the password to the locked files doesn’t mean he’ll hand it over to a twenty-three year old intern he’s barely met.  She lets herself wallow in disappointment for a few brief moments, but then forces the feeling aside- there’s got to be another way.  She’ll just bide her time; she’s good at being patient.
And so she fields phone calls and handles his e-mail correspondence and schedules meetings.  The scheduling is by far the most interesting part of the job; he’s on the board of numerous organizations, and every night is a different gala, a different opening night, a different photo op.
She’d seen his picture on Page Six that morning, taken at a heart-disease benefit the evening before.  He wore a tuxedo- he’s even better-looking in a tux than in a suit- and stood with his arm wrapped around his date’s narrow waist: Margaery Tyrell, the heiress to Highgarden Communications, beautiful and striking in Alexander McQueen.  The Lannister PR machine desperately wants New York to believe that Jaime and Margaery are romantically involved, but when she considers that she must always arrange for a separate car for Margaery at the end of these events, Sansa thinks it rather unlikely.
Maybe he’s gay, she thinks to herself as she returns from the dry cleaner and enters Jaime’s vacant office, hanging his tux on the door and placing the newly-shined dress shoes beneath it.   He certainly dresses well...and Margaery’s gorgeous, but he’s definitely not sleeping with her...
She crosses the room to water the little tree in the corner; Brienne schooled her carefully in the care and keeping of the plant.
She bends over to tip the watering can toward the back of the tree, and she does not hear the door open behind her.  When she stands upright, she locks eyes with Jaime, who watches her with a peculiar expression.
“I think it has enough water.  You’ve been very thorough.”  Sansa nods and places the watering can down as Jaime furrows his brow, gesturing to the tuxedo.
 “Where am I going tonight?”
“The opera, Mr. Lannister,” she replies, taking a small step toward the door, in spite of the fact that he’s directly blocking her path.
“Fuck, that’s right.”  He rubs his eyes with the heel of his hand and sighs.  “Which one is it?”
 “’La Boheme’,” she replies.
“Hmm.  I haven’t seen that before.”
“It’s beautiful,” Sansa volunteers with a soft smile.  “It’s one of my favorites.”
 “You like opera?”
“Yes.”  She’s nearly at the door now, but he still hasn’t moved- she’s near enough to catch the scent of his cologne- musk and sandalwood- and her mouth begins to go dry... snap out of it, you’re being an idiot...
“Duly noted.”  He grins at her, pivoting his body just enough to give her space to slide through the doorway, but not enough to keep her from brushing her chest against his arm as she tries to pass.  “I’ll get you tickets next time.”
“I..I would like that very much.  Thank you.”
When she closes the door behind her, Sansa falls into her chair and presses her palm to her heart.  She scowls at the quickness of the beats and restrains the urge to smack her head on the keyboard over and over again.
  -
It’s nearly midnight, and she’s completely alone.  She’s sure of it- even the cleaning people have left for the weekend.  Still, her eyes dart about anxiously as she retrieves the zip drive from her purse and plugs it into her computer.  It will work...it has to work.
Bran had been surprised, when she approached him to ask about computer hacking.  “I hack into gaming sites, Sansa,” he’d sighed with exasperation.  But the same principles must apply, she imagines- she adjusted the codes, tweaked the infrastructure on her own computer, saved it all to the drive.  And now she’ll be able to get into the locked files and secure her father some information far more valuable than the Cersei Lannister gossip.
Her toes tap and her fingers twitch with exhilaration- this is it, this is it, I’ll really prove myself now...
So engrossed is she that she does not notice the door behind her swinging open, not until a low voice echoes through the empty office-
 “Still here, Alayne?”
She shrieks, whirling her chair around.  Jaime stands in the doorway of his office, tie loosened and shirt untucked, a tumbler of scotch in one hand.
But no, I saw him leave for the museum gala, I called the car and got his tux...when did he have time to come back?  When I was in the bathroom, maybe...God, I should have checked his office first, stupid, stupid, stupid...
She tries to push her self-loathing aside long enough to answer his question.  “Yes, Mr. Lannister.  Just trying to finish up the agenda for the next board meeting before the weekend.”
“I appreciate your dedication,” he drawls with a smile.  “But can I persuade you to take a break?”
He opens the door to his office wider and gestures to her to enter.  She hastily closes the open windows on her computer and complies, shutting the door behind her.
“Do you like scotch?” he asks.  She doesn’t really, but her brothers and uncle are fond of it, and she knows she can hold it down when necessary.
When she nods, he fills another tumbler from a crystal carafe and hands it to her.  “It’s good, smooth.  Aged seventeen years.”
She takes a sip, trying not to wince at the burn of the liquid as it courses down her throat.
“Thank you.”
He sits on the sofa at the corner of his office and nods pointedly to the space beside him.  As she lowers herself down, he removes his tie and tosses it on a side table, unfastening the top few buttons of his shirt.  Sansa fights to keep from staring at the glimpse of his chest left exposed...she takes another sip and regrets the squeakiness of her voice when she asks,
“Why aren’t you at the gala?”
Jaime replies with a dry laugh.  “I’m not in a very festive mood tonight.”  His eyes darken a bit, and Sansa is reminded of the calls she’d forwarded to him that day from the private investigator.   They still won’t tell him where she is, he has to hire his own detective...it’s insane.
She finds herself unable to keep the sympathy out of her expression when she nods.  His gaze sharpens, but his tone remains calm and still.
“So, Alayne.  Are you enjoying yourself here?”
“It’s a great opportunity for me.  I’m learning a lot.”
“And what is it that you want to do?  What’s your big career dream?”
Sansa answers with more candor than she originally intended.  “I want to go to business school, then become an analyst.  And eventually, I want to run a company like this one.”
“Not exactly like this one, I hope,” he sniffs derisively.  “But you’re ambitious...everyone loves ambition here.  They eat, sleep, and shit ambition.”
He refills her glass before she has time to protest, and the hard set of his jaw prompts her to change the subject.
She’s an easy conversationalist, and she turns the talk to music, art (he has an impressive collection), higher education.   He makes her laugh with stories of his undergrad fraternity days at Yale, recommends business schools (he went to Harvard himself, and she bites her lip to keep from revealing her acceptance and inundating him with questions).  And he keeps the liquor flowing, until Sansa drops her heavy head onto the back of the sofa, just a hairsbreadth away from his shoulder.
“May I ask you something?”  She looks up at the clean profile of his face and breathes deeply, inhaling the scent of peat and alcohol and expensive cologne.
 “Whatever you like.”
“Why did you ask for me?  When you were picking an intern to help you, I mean.  Why me?”
He reaches for her tumbler, and she relinquishes it.  After placing both his glass and hers on a nearby table, he reclines back against the sofa and runs a hand through his thick golden hair.
“It was what you said in the meeting that day.  About family...there are plenty of ambitious people around here, like I said.  Lots of smart people and driven people, but there aren’t a lot of compassionate people.”  He props his elbow on the back of the couch and leans closer; she can feel the warmth radiating from his body, and she inches nearer...
“What you said...it was very human of you.  And that’s fucking refreshing.”
Their knees are touching now; if she moves her head just a fraction, her brow will fall against his.  She sees the prickling of stubble along his jawline, the way his eyelashes become light at the tips. A lock of her hair falls across her face, and he reaches up to smooth it back behind her ear.
“You’ve got a lot of red in your hair,” he comments, twisting the strands around his finger.   “Very pretty.”
So, so tacky, a cutting voice reverberates at the back of her mind. Powerful executive trying to get into his young assistant’s pants...he honestly couldn’t be more cliche if he tried.
His mouth barely hovers over hers at this point. And she’s not sure whether it’s defiance against those bitter voices coursing through her head or simply a total lack of fear (a middle-aged guy acting inappropriate with an intern, even in this day and age...that’s just sad), but she figures that she has nothing to lose.
She tilts her chin up and brushes her lips against his.  Jaime cups her cheek in his hand, and the way he kisses her- soft, patient, gentle- stokes a fire in her belly, sending tingles up and down her limbs and between her legs.
Jaime’s tongue teases at the seam of her lips, and she opens her mouth for him willingly, knotting her fingers in his soft hair.  He massages her tongue with his, and when he wraps a strong arm around her and eases her down onto the sofa cushions, she’s almost embarrassed by the ease with which her legs fall to either side, giving him unambiguously-direct access.
“Oh-” she sighs when she realizes that he’s settled his hips into the space between her thighs, his mouth lavishing attention on her neck, kissing and biting and sucking (enough to make her whimper and writhe, but not enough to leave marks- won’t have to break out the concealer, at least....).
It’s all moving along at an alarming pace, and the sensible side of Sansa, the one that regularly talked Arya down from her more fantastical flights of fancy and stopped Mya and Jeyne from becoming the subjects of especially-vicious high school gossip, urges her to slow things down-
“Mr. Lannister,” she begins (not very convincingly- she doesn’t actually want him to stop, although she knows it’s the right thing to do)-
“Jaime,” he pants into her skin, his tongue dipping into the groove of her collarbone.  “It’s Jaime.”
“Jaime,” she repeats- it’s a good name to whisper nearly breathless, a good name to sigh- she imagines herself screaming it as she comes, and she spreads her legs wider, quivering with anticipation.
(And the practical part of her slinks into the wings, completely forgotten for the time being.)
Her nimble fingers slide between them, unfastening the buttons of his shirt.  Her hands roam over the perfectly-contoured muscles of his body, and she’s momentarily distracted by the thought of the personal-training appointments Jaime’s had her schedule for 4:30am every day. “Who gets up that early?” she’d asked Kevan’s assistant Joy after sharing this story at one of their impromptu mid-afternoon coffee breaks. Joy had replied with a smirk, rolling her green eyes as she muttered, “Someone with something major to prove.”
He fingers the hem of her camisole, and she helps him pull it up over her shoulders, nearly surprised by her own lack of hesitation- she hasn’t been touched so intimately since she broke up with Harry almost a year ago, she should probably be more reluctant, more shy...
But the way Jaime presses his face into her chest and softly kisses the tops of her breasts...the way he mouths her nipples through the thin cotton of her bra...the deft way he reaches beneath her to pull the hooks open- nothing like Harry at all.
“You like that, don’t you?” he breathes as he scrapes his teeth over her left nipple.  She pulls his hair tight and whimpers in response, and he laughs, taking one breast in each hand and pushing them together until he can suck both nipples into his mouth at once.
She lets out a little peep of objection when he releases her breasts, but then his lips trail lower, skimming over her stomach, tongue swirling into her navel.  He lifts her skirt up and slides his fingers over her through her underwear, and she digs her nails into the leather of the sofa.
When he replaces his fingers with his mouth, kissing her through her boy-shorts, she growls his name low in her throat, surprised by her own abandon. The tip of his tongue teases at her clit, and the warmth, the soft pressure, the friction of the fabric- she reaches down to grip his shoulder, scratching at the golden skin, while her other hand kneads her own breast.
“Oh, please...”  she begins, but soon interrupts herself with a sigh of delight as he catches her underwear in his teeth and pulls them down her legs.  Jaime peppers soft kisses on her ankle, the inside of her knee, all up and down her inner thighs before spreading her folds and licking into her.
He’s slow and patient in his exploration, taking his time to discover the way she likes to be touched.  When he curls his fingers inside her just so, his tongue softly massaging her swollen outer lips before resting flat on her clit, she finds herself moaning just the way Harry always wished she would, bucking her hips up and feeling her wetness pool over his fingers and his lips.
He kisses his way back up her body and then captures her mouth- she licks her own release from his lips and tongue.  She can feel him pressed against her belly, and she quickly unbuckles and unbuttons until he’s in her hand, hot and hard.  Sansa kisses along his jaw and takes his earlobe in her mouth as she begins to stroke; her other hand pinches his nipple, and he grabs her hip tight and releases a breathy trail of obscenities.
Then she brings her hand to his face and looks him in the eye, those gorgeous cat’s eyes, set in this laughably-perfect face- “The Slayer”, they call him, he has no soul, no conscience...but would a man with no soul care so deeply for his disgraced sister?  Would a man with no soul place such a premium on compassion, on “human” behavior?
She kisses him again, hungrier than before, as she rubs the head of his cock against her.  He moans into her mouth- “Alayne”, and she tries not to feel a prick of sadness- and his hips start to shift-
“Do you have a condom?” she thinks to ask him, just in time. His brows knit together, and she’s blessedly able to stop herself before she rolls her eyes. There’s something strangely vulnerable about him as he leans down to retrieve his wallet from the back pocket of his pants and fishes within until he finds a Trojan.
“Not sure how long this has been there…” he begins, trying to sell the curve of his lips as a gesture of good humor...but he’s fragile in a way she can’t quite understand, and she chooses to be merciful.
She takes the rubber from him and tears the package open with her teeth, sprawling flat on her stomach to apply it with her mouth.
Once this crucial task is complete, she guides him into her and lifts her knees to her chest, savoring the deep thrusts, the hard grip of his hands on her thighs.
Jaime lifts her legs so that her ankles rest on his shoulders, and he lowers one hand to caress her, turning his head to kiss the side of her calf.  She comes again, even harder than before, and when he slides out of her, she wraps her hand around him and pulls off the condom before raining kisses over his shoulders and neck and chest until his ejaculate leaks over her fingers, pooling in the spaces between.
They do not move right away, content to stay coiled around each other, exchanging leisurely kisses with generous tongue.  Sansa starts to truly consider what she’s done- this man is her father’s rival, a top executive in the company that Stark Incorporated is trying to destroy.
And these facts shouldn’t make her want him more.  That’s childish nonsense...but there’s an appeal here that she can’t deny, can’t ignore.   Between the leather and the sandalwood and the musk and the scotch and this powerful, beautiful man sucking on her lower lip-
But then she remembers the red zip drive conspicuously plugged into the side of her computer, and she pulls away.
“I should finish up and go home,” she murmurs.  He does not object, but he keeps his arms around her as she tries to put her clothes back on, slowing down the process with his kisses and touches and wicked insinuations.
After she slips her top back on and wraps her hand around the back of his neck, pulling him in for a deep kiss, he whispers,  “Come home with me.  I want to fuck you in the back of the town car-” He brushes his lips beneath her ear- “-and in the elevator-” His stubble scratches at her collarbone as he moves down- “-and in every room in my apartment.”  He gently squeezes her breast, and she shifts closer, nearly sitting in his lap-
But then she stops.  She pulls away and stands, smoothing the wrinkles from her skirt.
“Not tonight,” she replies with a soft smile.  He looks disappointed, but when she reaches down to brush an errant lick of golden hair out of his eyes, she can feel him smile against the thin skin of her wrist.
“We ought to clean ourselves up,” she says, watching as he tucks his cock back into his pants and crosses toward the closet.  He drops a kiss on her shoulder as he passes her, opening the closet door and retrieving a clean white dress shirt.
“Very sensible, I’m sure.”  He slides the shirt over his arms, and the fabric clings to his sweat-dampened chest as he fastens the buttons.
Before she loses her wits entirely, Sansa hastens out the door, shutting it behind her.
She gathers her things quickly, shuts off the lights, powers down her computer (but not before ejecting the zip drive and slipping it back into her purse).
Jaime emerges from his office a few minutes later in perfectly-clean clothes, briefcase in hand.  He approaches her, graceful steps putting her in mind of a lion stalking its prey.  When he closes in on her, his arm firmly wrapped around her waist, her lower back pressed against the desk, she feels that she wants to be ravaged and savaged and ripped apart.   Of course, she reflects as she observes a thin scratch on his neck, courtesy of her sharp fingernails, I’d be able to give plenty of my own back, too.
“Will you let me drive you home, at least?” he asks, and she forces her head into a vehement shake.
“No, thank you.  The cabs are lined up around the block at this hour.”  She tries to straighten her posture, but he holds her fast against the desk.  Just one more, she thinks as she pulls his face down to hers, the force of the kiss pushing her up onto the desk, her leg rising to wrap around him again-
A clatter of metal, and they both look down- she’s knocked her stapler and tape dispenser onto the floor.  They separate, and she leans down to retrieve the supplies.  When she stands back up, Jaime places a thumb on her lips, just a gentle pressure.
“Good night, Alayne,” he whispers before turning on his heel and heading toward the elevator bank.
She waits by the window until she sees his town car pull away.  Only then does she leave; she opts against taking a cab, choosing instead to walk the thirty blocks to her parents’ townhouse.
Sansa strolls out to the river park, walking along the water that frames the west side.  She slips a hand into her purse and closes it around the zip drive.  And then she thinks.
Regardless of what just occurred between them (a #MeToo moment waiting to happen...she’s ashamed of the flippant nature of this thought, at the ease with which she left her own complicity out of the equation), Jaime seems to be a decent person.  And Genna is decent in her way, and Kevan and even Tyrion...is it fair, is it right to help her father tear their company up like this?  The information she’s stolen has the potential to obliterate Lannister Inc....  Can she...will she...?
She rests her hand on the railing that separates the pathway from the water below.  The little red drive nestles in her fist, and she loosens her fingers-
But instead, she returns the drive to the inner pocket of her purse.  Shutting the bag with a resolute zip, Sansa continues on her way home.

Lightspeed offices – Phase 1
For the new global headquarters of Lightspeed, a burgeoning, Montreal-based developer of point-of-sale software, ACDF Architecture reinvigorated three floors of the historical Viger train station and hotel, a nearly forgotten, chateaustyle building whose pointed turrets overlook a prominent civic square. The studio did so by preserving the found, raw elements of the once-abandoned space, superimposing a layer of select, slick, wit-filled elements that pop against the roughness and reflect the clients’ dynamic, creative and vigorous brand.
Lightspeed has had a fast, audacious rise since it was founded in 2005, growing from a home-based business to a thriving global entity with satellites in Europe and North America. It aims to be the first Montreal tech company with a billion-dollar valuation. At its headquarters, which are currently 30,000-square-feet with plans for another 20,000 by spring 2016, the company wanted room for an expanding workforce while retaining its culture as a tight-knit, nimble startup.
Throughout, ACDF forged connections between the past and the future, reflecting the unique heritage and joie de vivre of its locale (setting it a part from the standard tech offices in Silicon Valley). Contemporary interventions such as slick glass walls, colourful pavilions, vibrant furniture and graphic art — with murals by Sao Paulo’s Arlin Cristiano and Montreal’s Jason Botkin — juxtapose industrial, found elements that speak to the building’s long history.
When the Viger Train Station and Hotel first opened in 1898, it was a local landmark with grandly detailed terra cotta walls. The onset of the Great Depression and the shift of Montreal’s downtown to the west caused a downturn in the 1930s. After a long period of disrepair, including 15 years of utter abandonment, ACDF began the office conversion, leaving a palimpsest of the station’s past. The studio revealed soaring double-height spaces, with their immense timber beams, that were obscured during a 1950s remodeling; retained the rough-hewn brick walls that remained after the structure was stripped of its asbestos in the early 2000s; and left unadorned the ends of monumental, studded steel girders as they slide in and out of the workspaces.
Now, a revitalized sense of levity is evident as soon as visitors step into the lobby. When seen from the elevator, the laminate reception desk looks like the flattened graphic of Lightspeed’s red-and-white logo — a fluid L and S that coil into the shape of a bright flame. From different perspectives, the anamorphic nature of the design is revealed. An assertive assemblage of sharply edged volumes jumps out, all the more because of the surrounding, coarse textures.
A similar sense of humour pervades the rest of the space. For example, ACDF installed three laminate cabana-shaped meeting pavilions in the lobby. Each looks like a mini, high-gloss house, a nod to the comforts of home as well as Lightspeed’s previous, much-smaller office, which was in a residential neighbourhood. An extra layer of wit heightens the sense of play: the studio painted permanent “shadows” on the adjacent floor and walls outside the pavilions. The cabanas are adjacent to the “pool,” a kitchen-side common area that references the backyard swimming pool at the previous office. The aqua-coloured area has a teal epoxy floor and fiberglass stools with a waterlogged pattern, custom-made by millworker Etienne Hotte, both of which make the area feel as dream-like as the swim-up bar at your favourite resort. (Meanwhile, Arlin Cristiano’s The Phoenix, a large, graffiti-style wall mural, adds an edge.)
In the open-plan workspaces, stark white systems furniture streaks past the preserved ruins of industrial-age relics, soaring timber ceilings, garret-like nooks and elegantly frayed brick walls. The new-old contrast, as well as the infusion of Jason Botkin’s graphic, abstract lines and shapes, inspires a dramatic synergy that sparks the imagination and helps the youthful employees (the average age is 32) create.
Future additions will push the themes further. A new, 960-square-foot patio off the “pool” area will have hot tubs and BBQs; an indoor, cigar-style lounge with herringbone floors and tufted leather couches; and a cloud-inspired, diaphanous amphitheater will ensure the 215 and counting employees feel entirely at home in the space.

car insurance pasadena tx
BEST ANSWER: Try this site where you can compare quotes from different companies :insureforeverybody.info
car insurance pasadena tx
car insurance pasadena tx. The cost is as low as $17 per month and they are great insurance. I want to buy auto insurance. I pay for car insurance (to drive if I have not insurance that will give me a car with a good rating). I wish I had insurance before going to this company. We did insurance on $150k for 1 year, $100k for 2 years. We received an Auto insurance quote from them in $120. I wonder how you pay and how much they get a quote from, I don t even have a car till I pay on the car it is a total mess at least they have to insure me by a month, I have a 2014 sports car. So no insurance that a full month. I would not normally do anything because I don t know where to shop for car insurance I don t live in there are cheaper to insure because of the insurance company is a company, they are cheap. I live in California. I pay monthly and i have no idea. car insurance pasadena tx is it an insurance? Is there anything else to get you quotes? i am very good with this question and would like to know the best and cheapest insurance company for me in need of full coverage auto insurance (is there even a price for me)? what insurance do I need? This is a general liability insurance, or auto insurance policy for drivers who do not drive for at least a year. To get a cheap insurance policy for the right amount of coverage, you need to know what you are getting. You might have a hard time to get coverage, but you can find coverage in a variety of policy combinations. This can be important to know because some people find a cheaper policy from a good provider. But you don t have to be a high-risk driver to get a standard type of insurance, so what are you waiting for? The thing is to always shop around to find the best, most personalized auto insurance policy that suits your car. There. car insurance pasadena tx $19.63$1.66 $21.63$1.94 It would be interesting to think about some of the things we typically don t do but would consider the costs of other insurance? That the average cost in one area is much less in a smaller area could possibly be more per month. I m pretty sure the average cost of the whole life insurance (for example $25K) is relatively similar to what would be required to make up the expenses (for example a term policy and a $100K annual premium). Also note that an insurance adjuster can decide.

50 Trendy Home Office Design Ideas for Women
Home offices are usually not a necessary part of a house. But for people with home-based jobs, they tend to spend all of their time at home. Even people with office jobs, sometimes need to bring home paperwork from the office. It would be ideal with such work arrangements to have their own working space. Hence the need for a home office design that helps you be productive.
For a lot of women, especially ones with children, working at home has become the first and best option. Since a lot of home-based jobs are flexible, these allow working women to take care of their family while also furthering their careers.
If you are one, of course, you wouldn’t want to just work anywhere in the house. Having a home office that is conducive to working is recommended to have. Not only should the room be complete of every furniture needed for work, the room arrangement and design are also important to note.
What do you put in a home office for women?
A home office design for women can be anything that you like! It can be quite extravagant with ornate furnishings or it could be simple and slick.
In many cases what constitutes a home office design for women is the bright and “feminine” colors. These are usually pastels and pinks. Accessories like vases (with or without flowers), mirrors, picture frames, and ornate rugs and cushions are often placed.
How can I make my office look better?
It’s no secret that you would need the right furniture that will effectively make your office clean and efficiently organize your workspace. Having a comprehensive storage solution will minimize or get rid of clutter. Bookshelves and drawers usually do the trick.
Painting the walls, adding accessories and ornate furnishings and personalizing your office will surely make your space look even better.
How do I make my office feel like home?
In a lot of home offices, the addition of couches and coffee tables, and, in some, the addition of a window seat with pillow cushions can add a homey feel. The creation of even a small living space within the office can help with that. Photographs and personalized accessories or mementos will surely create that homey atmosphere.
What are the things I need to consider when designing my home office?
First of all, consider carefully the right place for your home office. Assess the space you need. There should be enough space for you to work comfortably and have a good workflow.
Included in consideration are your office desk and chair and how they will fit into the room. To boot, it is best to have comprehensive storage. All of this will contribute to how you would design and organize your office.
Speaking of organizing your furniture, good lighting and view are critical. Position your desk, especially if you use a computer monitor, such that there is no glare from the natural light outside your window or from an overhead light.
To further inspire yourself, position your desk to face the windows for a natural view instead of just facing empty walls. If your office location is without windows, position your desk to face the door or put up inspirational artwork or pinboard above your desk.
Home Office Design Ideas for Inspiration
There are so many design ideas coming to mind with varying styles, giving a variety of office ambiance. In most, if not all, cases the design is based off on people’s personalities and preferences, ones that will surely help get the best out of you to complete your tasks.

Luiza
Tumblr media
Vonthorr

Santa Cruz Haus
Tumblr media
Feldman Architecture, Inc.
The color burst in this home office is definitely eye-catching. The bright pink sofa on top of that colorful rug and deep blue floor is a color combination you wouldn’t expect. Add in the wooden working desk which seems to be out of place. And yet, this is such a hip room.
Vialetto Lot 1
Tumblr media

Bespoken For
@se-rarepair-day -- check it out my homie and consider partaking! I wrote this one for mahself and for my tsukid needs ;D fashionable aus are my jam
Nov 2017 Prompt: Tasteful
He was due for another fitting, entering the boutique just on time for his appointment. While Kid’s secretary was always one who urged him to be earlier for any pre-scheduled, that phrase about how being fifteen minutes early meant on-time, he’d much rather be at leisure. He didn’t even see his regular person when he walked in. All the more reason to not be unnecessarily timely.
Sitting by the window, he picked up a magazine that they had spread on the coffee table, reading for another five minutes before he was finally called in by the person at the front desk. But he took the copy of Cosmopolitan in with him, all too knowing that his stylist would take another moment to set up and finish her last client. Setting his suit on the rack on the side, then making himself comfortable on his usual chair, he flipped page after page. It was only when the curtain slid open that he got up from his seat to greet Bella.
It wasn’t her who he saw. Rather, it was another tall woman, dark hair tucked in a bun and pins stuck in her sleeves. She came in first, then Kid’s usual person. They were both in uniform, though one looked newer than the other, so he was unsure of why there was a need for an assistant that day.
His question was immediately answered after Bella greeted him, introducing the new trainee as a promising girl close to his age. Tsubaki extended her hand out for a polite shake, entertaining a “how do you do” before setting down her supplies next to her new manager’s. Moving carefully, orienting herself around her bag, she drew out a couple of more pins and measuring tools as Bella took a moment to talk to Kid privately.
“Tsu is freshly out of school. You’ll be nice to her, won’t you?”
He frowned, “I’ll do no such thing unless it’s warranted.”
“Oh, it will be. She’s skilled. Worked in other shops as an intern before. Using this place as a springboard to make it as a designer.” Bella clucked her tongue. “She’s an ambitious one.”
Eyes trailing after her, Kid said, “You know I don’t like most of your employees.”
“But she’s different,” Bella assured. “Girl’s got a good head on her shoulders, and besides, you only disliked Mels and Betty because they chattered and couldn’t keep a seam straight.”
“And what does that say about their competence?”
“Touche. Still, I’m hoping that Tsu will become your more permanent associate.”
He sighed, resigning to the logic that it was only a matter of time until Bella became too busy to attend to him. As his father’s friend, she made a special exception to Kid and worked on his suits herself. Lately however, she’d been working on new contract deals and campaigns along with another new line of casual slacks, leaving close to no time to meet up with Kid for his appointments.
There’d better be some hope with Tsubaki, especially since both Kid and Bella couldn’t afford to look for another tailor.
At the beginning of the session with Kid dressed up from head to toe, Tsubaki had already caught the looseness of the upper arms, attention trained on the area as she told Kid as such. She waited for his consent before reaching to measure around his bicep, poking at his arm with her fingers and testing out the material of his suit. Expert hands slid new pins into the place of old ones, managing to keep away from ever grazing the dress shirt under his coat. And following some of the most obvious alterations that she could see immediately, she ran through every major point, as if following a comprehensive list from memory, just to see if there were any spots that she’d missed. Kid lifted his arms when directed, holding his hands behind his back, lifting his knees to be on par with his waist, never needing to stay in an uncomfortable position for too long thanks to Tsubaki’s quick judgement.
It was half way through when Kid noticed that Bella had already slipped out of the room, shocked that a trainee was left alone with a customer. But by this time, Kid knew that he already had trust in her skills, and in Bella’s judgment. Tsubaki didn’t seem to need any extra instructions, gliding across the room as she examined a spot in every angle. So Bella was right; Tsubaki was perhaps a little different than the others.
Kid especially thought so when she asked him how his inner knee felt.
If all went well, this would have been the last day that the suit needed before becoming complete. He walked around the room for a moment longer until Bella came back in, drawing a smile from Tsubaki whose expression hadn’t changed much at all through the process. She took only a glance at Kid before praising Tsubaki heavily, beaming and ushering her around Kid, noting particular places that she was most proud of.
“The only thing is the waist. Wouldn’t it look better a tad tighter?”
Tsubaki tapped her chin, “I thought so at first until I considered the nature of the clothes themselves,” briefly going into an explanation.
And in mid sentence, Bella reached to squeeze both of her cheeks, cooing. “Oh, how right you think you are! Tighten it, dear. A couple of more years in this industry and you’ll see that you can’t always rely on textile chemistry to make clothes look good. A good attempt, sugar!”
Kid looked away from Tsubaki’s small pout, getting back onto the platform and lifting his arms until there was enough space for her to fit.
Through the following months, he visited the boutique scarcely. There were very few moments where he found a need for it; a split crotch and favors from his father were his main drive. During each time, he was referred to Tsubaki who had quickly become a mix of both an errand girl and someone who undergo all the sudden and strange tasks that customers walked in for. It was almost like a hazing event, to see if the girl was up to the task and could handle what the store threw in her face.
She was more than eager to complete each task, as a good employee should. Though she stumbled through some rather ineloquently, Kid could see a visible difference between his visits. Day 1 to day 100 showed a stark difference in not only her work but also how open she became to her customers and her team. Tsubaki learned to smile from her heart, to lend a genuine hand and hold meaningful conversation with others. The boutique wasn’t meant to be a mere stop for clothes, but to also be a familiar place that people could come to; that was the sort of world that Bella wanted to share.
Eventually, though some miracle of networking and short notice emergencies, Kid and Tsubaki began to meet up outside of the shop, starting with a rush job in a women’s bathroom stall. After the initial favor, Kid didn’t believe that her good nature and generous attitude should’ve gone unrewarded. All things would come to have an equal exchange, just how the world of business and chemistry worked out, so he wanted to take fate into his own hands and decided that their next interaction wouldn’t be that of a frantic text, but with something else.
Unfortunately for him, he didn’t have time for that until a couple of weeks later, after a series of back luck, or good, pulled Tsubaki back into action and saving his little accidents time and time again. A clumsy lady and spilt wine that required an immediate dress shirt change. A careless assistant during an intermission. An actual intentional cut with angry scissors that ran down his arm during the break of one of the most important meetings of the seasons. Each time Tsubaki was messaged, no matter how cryptic and deadpan the text read, she came through for Kid.
It was customary for him to make thank you calls and to show gratitude through small cards or emails, but it was strange for him to reach out to another person outside of work. Sending Tsubaki a text with a friendly intent was hard enough to draft-- a call would have been too intimate he thought-- and to send it took more courage than he thought was needed. Luckily for him, a mistaken flick of his thumb caused the screen to scroll up, and his brush with the last three instances of shame could be seen on screen.
The most recent was the most strange of the bunch.
“Nor on 5th. 1905. Bk jacket & f aid.”
“Omw,” was her answer.
And how happy was he to see her arrive with bandages, a new suit jacket, and even a fresh tie in 9 and a half minutes flat. She strode over to where Kid was huddled in the empty conference room, clearing the distance in no time at all. Handing off the clothes to a chair, she tended to his bloody arm and listened to his indignant muttering about how he would ruin FrekTel Inc, mark his words. Any company that would hire an associate who got physical after a failed business deal wasn’t going to last.
“She flew right off the handle. Grabbed fucking scissors from god knows where. Ripped a line right through my only Hilburn. Good ol’ Hilburn!”
Tsubaki’s eyes flicked to his. “It might be for the better. Perhaps give Kent Wang a try?”
“You’re not suppose to be promoting other businesses.”
“Bella’s son ordered from them last month, and even she said they were reputable for a reason.”
“Was that before or after she cussed Jeffery out?”
She smiled, “After.”
All of those jokes aside, her presence was a blessing, and her taste for clothes just the same. She deserved more than a hasty thanks and promises to be more careful the next time around. Kid sent along the message after one more bit of hesitation, rereading it for errors and to make sure that his point was conveyed correctly. The worst that could happen was that his invitation could be ignored or declined, he thought.
But luckily for him, her response came as quick as ever.
They set their calendars for the next available time that coincided, formalities dropping once the second invitation was extended. Eventually, they worked their way up to restful coffee breaks during lunch. When an afternoon at one of Tsubaki’s favorite brunch places further revealed her love for breakfast foods, Sundays became their new default meetup times with scattered lunch spots in between the week.
“I’ll get the bill next time” became “who’s turn is it?” And “how was your day” became “you won’t believe what happened yesterday.”
Soon enough, secrets of his trade and hers were revealed. Then came their own, careful and shy. Once that window was open, their trust in one another grew in ways that they hadn’t expected, knowing in their hearts that they’d found a kindred soul to share their stories with.
