FIC: Terms of Engagement ch.3
Summary: Rus is still a kid himself and with his life turned upside-down, he has no idea how he’s going to take care of his baby brother. Having other kid skeletons appear in his world wasn’t exactly the help he was looking for.

~~*~~
Before he’d ever met the others, before he’d inherited a pack of baby bones to watch on every third day, Rus was already pretty used to waking up with a small, warm, bony body sleeping on him.
When Blue was only a little boney maroney, they’d shared a room and whenever he’d woken up crying, Rus was the one who went to him, soothed him, fed him from the bottles the scientist left even if they couldn’t be trusted because there was nothing else to eat. He’d tuck his little brother into bed with him, holding him close and taking his own guilty comfort from no longer being alone.
He’d promised to keep the kid safe all the way back then, one of the first promises he’d ever made. First one he’d ever broken, too; his memories of how or why were fuzzy on the details, but he knew it was true. Rus had made the some promise again After, this time to three little ones who all looked up at him with worshipful eye lights, believing every stupid word that came out of his mouth.
He’d kept his promise a lot better this time.
Blue usually slept pretty well on his own these days, but sometimes he’d wake up from a bad dream, or maybe those fuzzy memories trying to find a way back in. He’d wander in and burrow into Rus’s blanket-and-cushion pile with him, all snuggly-warm, and Rus would wake up with a little brother squirming against him, ready for whatever breakfast there was.
So, it wasn’t too weird to wake up with a heavy weight on top of him, even if it did feel heavier than normal; maybe Blue brought one of his toys in with him? Rus blinked heavily, but the room was completely dark. None of the artificial daylight nor the glow of the lava made it all the way down here. He fumbled for the lamp, wincing at the sudden flood of light. It was only when his vision cleared and he saw it was Edge sleeping on him that Rus remember.
“shit,” Rus mumbled, scrubbing at his face roughly with one hand. They needed to get moving and over to visit in Red’s world before Sans got here with Papyrus if he was going to have time to talk to Red. He did hate to wake the kid; Edge was sprawled out on him like a starfish, drooling enthusiastically on Rus’s pajamas and his rabbit hanging loosely from one hand. But time was a-wasting and Rus wasn’t even sure how much they had. They needed to get going.
He gave Edge a gentle nudge, “hey, kiddo, time to get up.”
Yeah, and that was the reason he hated having to wake Edge up. The kid woke instantly, already scrambling to his feet and away, his eye lights skittering around wildly. Rus didn’t know what Edge was looking for, but he only relaxed when he didn’t find it.
Edge didn’t seem to think there was anything strange about waking up like he was expecting to find something (someone?) gnawing on his femur. He only yawned and gave Rus a sleepy smile. “Morning, Russy.”
“good morning, sugar skull,” Rus gave the skull in question a gentle knuckling, “we need to go talk to your bro real quick before blue wakes up and sans gets here with papyrus. lemme get dressed and we can go.”
“’kay,” Edge scrambled to sit on a cushion while Rus scrounged through his clothes for something reasonably clean. The kid started automatically putting his thumb into his mouth and paused with it halfway there, forcibly settling his hand back into his lap. Rus pretended not to notice, Edge’d been trying to break the thumbsucking thing for ages and usually had it beat. Must be really worried about his bro if that habit was putting in an appearance.
When Rus finally found a sweatshirt without too much in the way of stains or stink, he shrugged into it and a pair of shorts, groaning and stretching with every step. It was too damned early to be up, Red better appreciate this. He wouldn’t, but Rus could hope. Once he’d shoved his feet into his sneakers, he paused by Edge, who was looking up at him hopefully.
Rus raised a brow bone at him and those sockets went wider, his jaw quivering tremulously. It made him chuckle and shake his head, giving in, “okay, c’mere, kiddo. you’re starting to get big for piggy backs, ya know.”
“Not too big!” Edge said sulkily, but it turned to a gleeful crow when Rus swung him up on his shoulders.
“no? thought you weren’t a baby bones,” Rus said slyly. He winced as Edge flicked him between the sockets, his bony finger making a hollow thock against his skull.
“Don’t be mean, Russy!” Edge whined.
“me?” Rus rubbed his skull ruefully. “okay, quiet down, kiddo. we’re gonna check on blue and then head over to your place, yeah? don’t wake him up or he’ll hafta come along and this’ll take too long.”
“okay,” Edge whispered. He hunkered over Rus’s skull like he was using all the energy in his little bones to keep quiet.
Good enough.
Rus knew all the places on the floor that creaked by heart and avoided them, easily balancing Edge on his shoulders as he made his way to Blue’s room. It was Red who’d pointed out that all the squeaks and creaks were good as an early warning system in case anyone ever came wandering down here, so Rus left them as they were. So far, the only use they’d been was to warn him about an escaping baby bones, but hey, that right there was worth the price of admission.
A quick peek showed Blue was still sound asleep, curled up in his little bed with his own lovey. He’d sleep for a while yet if Rus didn’t wake him, so if they hurried, they’d be back before his bro even noticed he was gone.
True to his word, Edge kept quiet as Rus crept back out and down the hallway to the machine room. It was only once they were inside that he shifted uncomfortably, his sharp little fingers pinching a little against Rus’s skull.
Not that Rus blamed him. Using the machine always made him uncomfortable, too.
There was something about it, something that felt wrong, prickling uncomfortably over his bones. It was stupid, but sometimes Rus had this weird idea that machine wanted him to use it. Didn’t make any sense, it was a machine, machines didn’t want things, and he never mentioned it to Sans or Red. They’d think he was dumb. Dumber.
Dumb or not, it didn’t stop him from feeling it, but there wasn’t much choice about using it, it was the only way to get to the other worlds. Rus reached back and gave Edge a gentle pat as he tapped in the coordinates he’d long ago memorizing, waiting for the rush of painful cold from the opening portal.
The shimmer of black that appeared was eerily silent as always. Rus never did figure out how Sans worked up the nerve to walk through it the first time, because he sure wouldn’t have done it.
Well, maybe.
The portal wasn’t that tall, Rus usually had to duck to go through it, and this time he swung Edge off his shoulders to balance him on his hip bone before walking in. There was a certain guilty comfort to holding him close, even as Edge shivered a little in his arms. This kid didn’t much like it, either, although he’d never heard a complaint from Blue or Paps.
Stepping through it took less than a second, but it was like falling through ice on a lake, chilling him to his soul.
The machine room in this world was weirdly similar to his own, down to the same feeling of prickling discomfort that didn’t ease until Rus went through the door. The second it closed behind him, that feeling was gone like it was shut off with a switch and Rus gave himself a little shake and went looking for Red.
The building itself was laid out different than his own, a weird mirror image and Sans’s was the same way. Sans joked that it wasn’t just him and Blue, it was all of their world that was swapped around from theirs and so far, Rus hadn’t seen any proof that he was wrong.
Didn’t matter much, all it meant was that he turned left instead of right to get to Red’s room and that he had to follow the path of creaks and squeaks in reverse.
Edge’s fingers were gripping his sweatshirt so tightly it was pulling it off his shoulder, and Rus rubbed his back soothingly. He kept quiet though, biting back any soothing words. Something felt…off, ominous, he couldn’t explain it. The door to Red’s room creaked loudly enough to make him wince, but there was a light on and he didn’t need to let his gaze adjust to the dark. Red was sprawled on the bed, snoring away, a blanket draped haphazardly over his legs.
No wonder Edge was worried; even asleep, Red looked like shit. He’d taken to wearing sunglasses lately like an asshole, and Rus hadn’t thought it worth anything past an eyeroll. Looking at him now, he was obvious he’d been hiding the dark circles under his sockets. How long had he been hiding this shit and he’d been watching the little bros like this? What if he got them sick, too?
Rus sent a Check at him to see how bad it was and what came back to him chilled him worse than any walk through the void.
Sans: LV 3 1 ATK 1 DEF *he’s only pretending to sleep
“oh, fuck,” Rus whispered. He stumbled back a step, sockets so wide they ached as Red rolled over and looked at him, and never had those crimson eye lights, that permanent sneer with those razor teeth seemed so threatening.
He barely noticed Edge squirming in his arms. “Russy, you’re holding too tight…Russy? It’s too tight, you’re hurting me…!”
His feet were moving on their own, shuffling backwards and nearly tripping over his laces so he didn’t have to look away from Red. Who was climbing to his feet, reaching out to them with his sharp-clawed fingers and he had EXP, he had LV, killer, he was a killer—
“wait!” Red cried out and Rus was so stupid that he actually did, paused at the pain in that voice and the tears that were suddenly tracking down Red’s face, because when had Red ever cried? Never, that was when, Red played the badass, always, even though he was a full head shorter than Rus, he didn’t cry, never cried. Until now, sinking down to the floor amidst socks and sweatshirts, curling into a ball and burying his wet face into his upraised knees as he rocked and wept, “i didn’t have a choice! i didn’t…i couldn’t…”
Rus glanced at the door out of the corner of his socket. He could make it, one quick dash and he could maybe slam it closed, trap Red in here while he and Edge made for the machine.
Instead, he hesitated, watched the quiver of Red’s shoulders even as he clutched Edge closer to him despite his complaints, “what happened?”
Red lifted his skull, his blotchy face awash with tears that he tried to wipe away roughly on his sleeve. He snuffled hard, “not in front of the kid.”
Yeah, he wasn’t that stupid. “either tell me, or i’ll take him back with me.”
Red’s eye lights flicked to his brother, who was starting to sniffle himself, still trying to worm free of Rus’s grip. He nodded reluctantly. “i was at the dump, digging for somethin’ to sell. usually, i can get in and out without nobody seein’, but this time, they caught me. i thought i lost ‘em but they followed me back here and—” The tears started again, trailing down his cheek bones to meet at his chin, falling in droplets. “they attacked me, tried to kill me. called me free xp. i couldn’t…they knew where we lived, they coulda found the machine. coulda gotten to all of you, i didn’t know what else to do!”
Some part of Rus’s soul cried out that there was always something, that killing was never the answer…but it was weak, easily squashed. He’d always known this world was more dangerous, he and Sans both knew it, talked a few times about maybe quitting with the even steven in babysitting and only watch the kids in their worlds.
Just thinking of what kind of Monsters would call Red free XP, little Red a full head shorter than Rus in his striped shirt and stupid boots, thinking of those Monsters getting to the machine, getting to his world, getting to Blue—
“fuck,” Rus mumbled, because what were they supposed to do?
“couldn’t let ‘em hurt you guys,” Red said, dully. He’d given up on stopping the tears, letting them fall, staining his face. “couldn’t. not my bro, not blue and paps, i couldn’t.”
“i know,” Rus said, struggling with numb fear of his own. This could happen again easy and what was Red supposed to do? Keep killing anyone who found him out, piling on the EXP until it drowned him in LV? He knew about LV, knew what it could do to a Monster, and Red was an asshole, but they couldn’t let that happened to him. Worse, he might not earn EXP, he might get dusted, and then Edge would be here alone and—he didn’t realize how hard he was squeezing Edge until the kid smacked him, squalling again that he was holding too tight. He loosened his grip absently, his thoughts a’whirl, what could they do—
The solution was so simple he couldn’t believe he’d never thought of it before, clicked in his head like one of the puzzles that the three trouble triplets loved to do.
“listen,” Rus said, slowly, “why don’t you and edge come live with blue and me?”
That got him a fresh emotion from Red. His eye lights flashed and he snarled out, “we don't need your pity!”
“good, because you’re not getting any!” Rus shot back. "how are you gonna protect our bros here, huh? how can you keep edge safe? you know things aren’t the same in my world, so come stay with us! no one is gonna call you free xp there!”
Red flinched, the truth of that hitting him hard. He was wavering, so Rus finally set Edge down and let him run to his brother, flinging himself into his arms. Usually, Red would tolerate hugs from the kiddos with a lot of grumbling and shove them away after a minute. This time he gathered Edge close, holding him in tightly as his little brother bawled and clung to him.
Over his little bro’s head, Red’s eye lights twitched to the wall where a few pictures of all the kids were tacked up, taken with an old camera Sans found at his lab. One of them was of Blue, swallowed up into one of Red's old jackets, the sleeves hanging over his hands as he beamed up at the camera with starry eye lights. There were plenty of others; Edge and Paps and Blue as baby bones, working their way up from toddlers till now, the three of them laughing and playing. Safe.
Red tried to swipe away his tears again, uselessly, and snuffled out, “you mean it?”
“course i do!” Rus said stoutly, with more confidence than he felt. Okay, it was gonna be a pain in the ass, he knew that, but it was a helluva lot better than the alternative. “red, you guys don’t need to stay in this shithole
He still didn’t look convinced. Edge squirmed free of his arms, for once having to fight loose from his brother’s grip. He stood there in his too-small footie pajamas, looking up at Red, and his voice was pure hope as he asked, “We’re gonna live with Russy?”
“yeah, kiddo,” Red sounded like he was still trying to persuade himself. “you like that idea?”
To say Edge lit up gave lightbulbs too much credit. The kid all but glowed, shining with delight, and he stood on his toes to whisper to his brother too softly for Rus to hear.
Red only snorted and shook his head. “you still on that idea? he ain’t marrying you, that ain’t how it works. is that why blue keeps askin’ me, you put that idea in his head?”
“am so,” Edge repeated stubbornly and for all that none of this was very funny, Rus had to cough to hide his own smile. Kid had a long memory, that was for sure.
Red looked around at the room, at the scattered clothes, the pictures and let out a slow breath as he nodded. “okay, give me some time to get everything packed up and we’ll head over to your place, yeah?”
“I can help!” Edge said eagerly. He started to run out, paused and gave Rus’s leg a hard hug.
His skull was only as high as Rus’s hipbone and he gave it a gentle pat, crouching to press a soft kiss to the curve of it and murmured, “go get your stuff, sugar skull. bet you and blue can share a room for a little while, yeah?”
“Yeah!” His delighted grin was the last thing Rus saw as he ran out, heading to pack what was probably too many toys and not enough clothes. Ah, well, he was sure Red would double-check.
Red was already stuffing clothes into a bag, frowning as he tossed a few things aside. Rus jerked his thumb at the door, “i’m gonna go back and give my brother a heads up. this’ll work out, red.”
He nodded jerkily, adding a striped hoodie to his bag. “yeah. least i know my bro will be safe in your world.
You both will, Rus didn’t say. He left them to pack and headed back to the machine, shivering his way through the void and back to his own world. It was no surprise that Blue was thrilled with the idea of having Red live with them, even if he had to share his room with Edge, and he spent the morning neatly splitting his room in half. Rus was less amicable about sharing; there were plenty of empty rooms in the lab, Red could pick a new one. They might even be able to find Red a mattress, short as he was, it’d be easier than finding one for Rus.
They were still waiting for their new roomies when Sans showed up to drop off Papyrus, who was so disappointed that no one was moving in with them that he started to cry. Rus gave Sans an abbreviated version of what was really going on while he soothed his little bro, and he decided to wait around instead of heading off to his own world, get a bead on how things were gonna be changing.
They were still waiting at lunchtime. At dinner. Still waiting that night when Rus tried to use the machine and found that it wouldn’t open a portal to their coordinates. Sans and Papyrus could head home, but their machine didn’t open to Red and Edge’s world either, only flashed a brief pattern of warning lights and stopped.
They waited the next day and the next, while Blue and Papyrus cried over their friends, and Rus and Sans sat in silent worry, trying the coordinates again. And again. Until eventually the kiddos stopped asking when Red and Edge were coming back, until Blue only looked at the pictures of his friends sadly, placing them in a scrapbook, and he wore that old jacket of Red’s until it was rags. Until Sans came up with his Idea and the four of them had to make a choice. But the machine never opened a portal to those coordinates again.
Rus kept that worry in his soul, waiting for a portal that never came, for the next fifteen years.

Bathtime
Note: Thank you everyone for the notes on the last fic! Hopefully you’ll enjoy this one just as much! Onto the fic!
Handplates belongs to: @zarla-s
Summary: The Human and the brothers have made quite the mess! Will Gaster be able to bathe them without it being awkward?
“WHY ARE WE IN THE KITCHEN, HUMAN? WE ALREADY HAD LUNCH.”
The Human finished tying the apron around their waist before turning to the brothers with a smile.
“*You tell him that you’re going to teach them how to bake cookies.” ‘*They’re really excited.’
While the brothers chattered happily, the Human took a pictured cookbook of one of the shelves. They weren’t exactly sure about the brothers’ reading abilities but maybe the two of them could at least understand pictures. Gaster did say they’ve done it before though. Well, hopefully nothing goes too terribly wrong.
The Human propped the book up in front of the brothers so they could see it. They were confused at first but the Human quickly explained it was a recipe. The Human then proceeded to explain what ingredients to get and where to get them. Meanwhile, the Human gathered the cooking equipment they would need. Mostly things like a bowl and some measuring cups. They also found an unused electric mixer in one of the cabinets. After finding everything, they went to put the equipment on the kitchen counter and found that Subjects 1 & 2 had finished collecting all the ingredients. Now they could begin baking.
It went about as well as expected.
“*You tell the brothers to be careful when cracking the eggs.”
“DON’T WORRY, HUMAN! LIKE YOU SAID, WE’RE VERY CLEVER SO THIS WILL COME NATURALLY.”
“how long will we have to wait for the cookies to bake?”
After about twenty minutes, the Human was finally able to get all the ingredients into the bowl. They decided to wash up before mixing so they went over to sink. That’s when the Human heard Subject 2 tell his brother he was going to help them by mixing everything himself. Before they could stop him, Subject 2 turned the mixer on at full power.
Cookie dough splattered everywhere. The brothers freaked out while the Human tried to turn off the mixer, resulting in them getting covered in the dough. They managed to switch the mixer off but not before the kitchen was a complete mess. The brothers and the Human were covered head to toe with the sugary mixture. The first thing they did was try and calm Subject 1 & 2 down and check for any injuries. Besides being shaken up, they were alright. The Human was about to start cleaning up but Gaster must’ve heard the commotion because he walked into the kitchen with a concerned look on his face.
“Human, what was that? I heard crying and-.”
That’s when Gaster noticed what a complete mess the kitchen had become. His attitude quickly changed from concerned to exasperated. He knew this was gonna happen and yet he had allowed them access to the kitchen. Now he had to waste time cleaning up and get the brothers and Human cleaned as well. Gaster took them down to the bathroom to get washed so they wouldn’t track cookie dough everywhere.
Entering the bathroom, Gaster filled the tub and took the brothers’ clothes off so they could be washed. He placed the two of them in the tub when he heard the Human ask a question.
“*You ask Gaster if he can turn around so you could your clothes off.”
This made him freeze up. He had completely forgotten that the Human also needed to take a bath. Clearly embarrassed and completely red in the face, Gaster turned around without a word. He tried to ignore the sounds of them taking off their clothes and getting into the tub. He quickly gathered up their clothing as well trying not glance at the Human, which was hard to do since they started asking him if he wanted to join in. Gaster left in a hurry leaving the Human to help wash the brothers.
They found some soap and scrubbed away the excess dough from themselves and the brothers. The two of them were a bit fussy at first but calmed down since unlike Gaster, they were actually gentle and used their hands to scrub the soap before rinsing it off. Subject 2 tried help once again by trying to wash the Human’s hair for them but that just ended up putting soap in their eyes. Gaster eventually did come back with towels and the now clean clothes but still refused to look at or even acknowledge the Human’s invites to get in with them.
After a few more minutes, The Human was able to finally washed all the cookie dough off themselves and the brother. Gaster got the brothers out the tub to dry them off and get their clothes put back on but when the Human tried get out as well, he told them to stay put.
“You need to wait until we’re out of the room, Human. This won’t take long.”
“*You ask him why you had to wait.” ‘*He looks a little awkward...”
“I’m...just trying to give you your privacy, Human. That’s all, really.”
Before the Human could say anymore, Gaster left the room with the brothers in tow leaving them alone in the bathroom. They let a small sigh as they got out of the tub. They dried off, got dressed, and left the room. Hopefully one day, the Human would get Gaster to bathe with them.
(Later that day)
“Human, can you pass me the beaker with the Cesium in it?”
“*...You ask him which chemical that was again.”
“-sigh- It’s the metal we melted earlier, Human. The sliver and gold-colored one.”
The Human nodded in understanding and used a pair of beaker tongs to grab the beaker. Since Alphys couldn’t exactly come down to the Lab, Gaster had to make due with the Human helping him with more time-sensitive experiments. Despite their lack of scientific knowledge, they were always happy to help him. Sometimes it even seemed like he enjoyed explaining different parts of whatever experiment they were doing. It was entertaining to watch Gaster ramble on and on about science stuff. It was pretty much a hobby to the Human.
“*You pass him the melted liquid.” ‘*He gives you a nod in thanks...’
Gaster took the tongs from them and began to pour the melted metal into another beaker that contained water. The Human noticed that he was pouring in a bit too much and tried to get his attention. Gaster just told them to wait when they tugged on his sleeve. Realizing that the mixture was starting to bubble in an alarming rate, they took a couple steps back. He didn’t seem to notice.
“After I am finished with this, I need you to find me a-.”
He didn’t get to finish his sentence as the beaker exploded, not being able to handle the chemical reaction from the molten liquid. Luckily, they were both wearing goggles and labs which took most of the damage. A lot of it did get into the Human’s hair and on Gaster’s face though. Broken glass littered the table as Cesium spilled onto the floor. It was going to be a big mess to clean up. However, Gaster knew that they needed to get cleaned off immediately. For both of their safety though, they would have to take a bath...together.
Giving a long exhale, he took the Human to the bathroom once again. They were a bit confused at first until Gaster began to fill the tub.
“Looks like we’ll have to bathe together after all, Human...”
Not wanting to make this awkward for him despite their excitement, the Human offered to get in first and then he would follow after. He seemed to be okay with that idea and turn around so they could undress. The Human eased themselves and started to wash the chemicals, not paying attention to Gaster undressing as well. At least, they weren’t until he got into the bathtub.
‘*You try not to look at him...you fail miserably.’
There was a long, uncomfortable silence between the two of them. Eventually, the Human couldn’t handle the tension anymore so they quietly scooted over to Gaster who was busy trying to wash the chemicals from his skull. He didn’t notice until they were practically sitting in his lap. He jumped in surprised.
“H-Human?! What are you doing? Go back to your side.”
”*You slyly ask Gaster if he help you wash your back.”
He became flustered and turn red at the Human’s request. He wasn’t sure what to think. He didn’t even realize he was already complying with the Human’s wishes. They sighed in content as he rub the soap on their back. After rinsing off the soap, the Human did the same with Gaster. He remained silent the whole time. After a few minutes, they both finally got out of the tub. After drying off and getting dressed in silence, they walked out of the bathroom back towards the cells. They were both quiet until the Human spoke up.
“*You tell him you would love to do that again sometime.”
Gaster only nodded in response. He only hoped that the Human was clueless enough to not realize that he caused the experiment to fail on purpose.
Note: Thank you everyone for the wait! I started school Monday so I had to deal with that but I’ll always try to get fics out when I can. Remember that I love all of you! Thank you so much for reading! Requests are always welcomed! Stay tuned for more.

Act 1: A Little Help, Chapter 3
Alright, the final chapter of this act. Can’t say it’s the most exciting thing, but hopefully this will at least kick off the exciting stuff. Thanks to all of you who read this.
Also I will note, I know for the RP people, you already know this, but for others. If the speech is in italics, then it is coming from the voice in Alphys’ head. Cool, also sorry in advance to Floof if Gaster isn’t quite the way you do it.  Hope you enjoy.
FIRST, PREVIOUS, NEXT
The sun in the sky showed it was approximately mid-afternoon as it was heading towards the horizon, and it was under this sun that Asgore got a great view of the house. Seeing all the boards out of place, paint peeling off, and a bunch of other bits of the house falling to pieces. The house gave him a weird feeling inside himself, as if it wasn’t feeling so well, a sick feeling, but that was most likely to do with the decayed look. Asgore opened and walked through the fence gate slowly, the thought of fixing this bloody mess was giving him a slight daunted feeling, Red wasn’t kidding, it looked like it was ready to collapse. The goat child also cringed as he was walking past the garden, the yellow grass and wilted plants were enough to get him riled up. With a smile he stepped onto the porch, no matter how hard the job was, he was prepared to do whatever it takes, and honestly if he really thought about it, the longer it took, the better, apparently hard work builds character, according to his teachers anyway. ‘’Heh yeah, but what happens when your hard work builds you the wrong way?’’, he morbidly thought about the one time he’d been accused of talking back with such a statement, looking back it wasn’t a smart move, but of course he couldn’t keep the trap shut. Thinking time was over, now was the time for action, looking back towards the fence entrance to check that his plan was in motion, he then turned back to the door and knocked on the door, wincing when he realised he may have been rough on the old thing as it shook violently on its hinges, as far as he could tell, the wonky hinges could let go and he would be a bit of a door pancake. The prince was about to knock again when he heard little footsteps heading towards the door, way to small to be Undyne’s so they were certainly Alphys’. The door swung open and Asgore gave his friendliest smile.
‘’O-oh h-hello, what b-brings y-you here? Ummmm can I-I get you a d-drink or something?’’, Alphys watched nervously at Asgore, not expecting him of all people, was Gaster here or something? ‘’O-o-oh no, I’m s-s-sorry, I d-didn’t a-ask how y-you were, or wh-what you’re up t-to coming a-around here’’. Asgore chuckled and scratched the back of his head, ‘’It’s all good Alphys, I’m doing fine right now, sorry for disturbing you….’’ He glanced up and down at her, ‘’…You obviously weren’t expecting anyone.’’ Alphys blushed faintly as she looked down and did recall that she was wearing her PJ’s. ‘’Heh they’re a bit cute Alph. Hey, would you mind if I come inside, just came around to visit a friend.’’ Alphys sighed at his comment and hesitated before nodding, opening the door more, ‘’Alright, j-just h-head down t-t-to the r-r-right and sit on a couch, I’ll be th-there, pl-please just stay th-there until I g-g-get b-back.’’ Asgore nodded and headed inside while Alphys scampered off to her room to get dressed in something a bit more normal, she let out a slight groan as the she heard a yawn from in her head, ‘’oooooo, we got Asgore today do we? Well at least it’s more interesting than visits from those other two.’’, ‘’Y-you n-n-never had to b-be up the f-f-for times Red came over y-y-you know?’’ The voice inside sighed, ‘’I know, but sleeping isn’t exactly less boring you know? Also blasts valuable time I could use thinking of some way out of this mess, or to make you do something amusing.’’
Asgore watched Alphys scurry off after giving her an affirmative nod, and he smiled until he heard her bedroom door close a few rooms away. The kid’s smile had disappeared as he could only stare blankly at the tape covered walls, slight rips in the couch and scratches over tables, part of him swore some of the roof was bending in, but if it was, it wasn’t extreme enough to tell definitively. “Heh yeeeeaaaah this is gonna be quite the project huh?’’ He moved over to a window and looked through it, putting up all of his fingers to whatever was out there, before going to sit down on a couch. Asgore was incredibly grateful he didn’t fall through the battered and worn out couch and was now wondering where to start because he figured he probably should plan his route around cleaning the place. ‘’For the biggest effect, I imagine doing one area and focussing on presentation will be the best bet.’’ The kid felt a bit of a grumble in his gut as he realised he had skipped lunch, ‘’Hmmm think the dining room or kitchen might be the best bet, yep that will be the plan’’, he smiled as he figured he was a genius for such a great idea. Asgore looked towards where he was once again hearing the little footsteps of the resident, and Alphys was wearing a lab coat over a black shirt, her usual attire for as long as he knew her…. which made his plan just a little easier. ‘’S-s-so Asgore, c-c-can I g-get you something? L-like a d-drink or s-something?’’ Asgore nodded, ‘’I can make us both one if you want.’’ The lizard quickly shook her head, ‘’N-n-no I can d-do it, y-you’re the guest, c-come I’ll g-get the kettle going for t-tea.’’ Alphys walked slowly to the kitchen where which Asgore followed, successfully hiding his shock at the state of the kitchen, there really was no where spared from the tyranny of negligence. Alphys turned the kettle on after putting water in it, and started getting tea bags, ‘’S-sorry, I don’t have a-any of the g-golden flower st-stuff, will g-green tea suffice?’’. Asgore nodded, he decided striking up a conversation might settle down the poor girl’s nerves a little bit, ‘’So Alph, how have you and Undyne been doing, living together must be pretty swell right?’’, he wondered what Undyne thought about the state of this place. But the moment that thought finished, he got his answer, the lizard seeming to get a little depressed, ‘’O-o-oh uhhh it w-was good yes. B-but it d-didn’t last v-very long. One m-m-month in and sh-she’s already l-left the country, that was several months ago….’’ Asgore suddenly felt bad and felt uncomfortable, rubbing his arm and watching as Alphys’ face became a smile, albeit a weak one, but one nonetheless. ‘’B-b-but hey, th-that’s j-just like h-her. Kn-knew she wouldn’t be able t-to stay in one p-place for very long….J-just glad she’s happy y-you know…she w-won’t be back for a while.’’ Asgore nodded, trying to make that feeling go away, while he wishes he didn’t bring it up, it gave him some valuable info that he swiftly locked that in the back of his head. ‘’Yeah, of course ummm so you been up to anything recently? Surely something new must’ve happened at…any point’’. Alphys appeared physically relieved at the distraction from the previous topic and nodded, thinking for a few moments before finally speaking and smiling, ‘’Y-yeah well R-red’s come over a f-few times, that’s al-always nice of him, d-do enjoy those d-days……Oh yeah! w-work has been good I s-suppose, the n-new manager i-is a pretty cool p-person……that’s about it.’’ Alphys heard to kettle go off and she took it off the heat and put the tea bags in the cups, ‘’Work huh? Where do you work? Some big fancy lab somewhere?’’. The lizard hesitated at the response, before pouring in the water to both cups, missing the gleam in his eyes, as if everything was going according to plan. ‘’Hehe no, I d-don’t work i-in a lab, k-kind of a j-junkyard really. Th-they hired me to c-combine a f-few things h-here and there to s-sell. G-guess y-you could s-say working o-off my strengths.’’ Alphys started stirring the tea as she gave a shy laugh, before finally passing the tea to Asgore, the two of them tried it at the same time and Asgore made a couple of sounds of approval, ‘’Nicely done, this is good stuff, thank you Alphys’’. She nodded and gave Asgore a curious look, ‘’S-sorry I-I haven’t asked, b-but wh-what’s b-been up w-with you, h-haven’t s-seen y-you for quite a while.’’ Asgore sighed and was thinking on his answer when suddenly, the doorbell rang, ‘’Oh looks like you have company once more, sorry if I intruded, didn’t realise.’’ The scientist shook her head, a nervous expression appearing once more, ‘’I-I w-wasn’t ex-expecting an-anyone, p-please g-give me one moment’’. Asgore nodded and Alphys ran off back towards the front door. ‘’My my, aren’t we popular today, thought we were avoiding this,’’ ‘’Y-yeah I-I know, it’s s-scary, b-but hey, y-you wanted an interesting d-day didn’t y-you?’’ The response from the voice was a groan and after a good five seconds of hesitation, she opened the door, and once more, was surprised to who she found outside.
‘’Oh, why, hello there’’ the pink shawl wearing alligator started and then the cat with the blue overalls who continued, ‘’It’s, like, nice to see you Alphys, it’s been…’’, ‘’….soooo long’’. The two of them laughed in sync after the alligator finished the sentence, giving each other friendly looks, the all so familiar actions of the pair. ‘’Br-bratty? C-c-catty? Wh-what are you t-two doing here? H-how d-did you e-even find my p-place.’’ The newcomers just seemed to laugh in unison and this time Catty decided to start the talk, ‘’Oh well Alph no need to worry about that, we both figured…’’ ‘’Yeah totally the both of us’’  ‘’…that we needed to catch up again, it’s been, like totally, years…’’ ‘’And there’s no better way to do that than a BIG GIRLS CLOTHES SHOPPING TRIP’’ the two seemed to cheer that last bit, ‘’What do ya say girlfriend?’’, the scientist looked at both them, though her gaze seemed to lean naturally towards Catty who was twirling a finger through the blue streak in her hair and the smaller monster’s expression looked a little terrified, ‘’O-oh uh th-thanks ummm….girlfriends? B-but I h-have a guest o-over, m-maybe we can s-sort out a t-time l-later’’. Asgore’s voice came from the other room loudly with a chuckle, ‘’I’m all good, feel free to take her away’’. Alphys paled slightly at hearing that and the girly let out simultaneous yells of excitement and glee, ‘’Oh geez, this can’t be happening, please don’t be taken by them, anything but them please.’’ Alphys ignored her as she was wondering why the heck this was happening, what on earth do you get on a shopping trip, what type of clothes were they going to get. Oh no she hadn’t done research on this type of thing, she was going to be an embarrassment. Catty disagreed apparently, as she barely read Alphys’ expression, “Aww c’mon, like, no need to be worried, we’ll take good care of you’’ ‘’Yeah totes, I mean you got to wear something other than that white coat someday…’’ ‘’Yeah, like, don’t they say something like….variety spices up life or something?’’ ‘’EXACTLY, that’s like totally what I would’ve said, we’re so smart sometimes aren’t we?’’ The two laughed together, looking very proud of themselves. Alphys turned her head and tried to call out, ‘’Asgore wh-‘’, but then she was quickly cut off by Asgore himself, his voice seeming to get weirdly excited for a reason she couldn’t fathom, ‘’Don’t worry, you go have fun, I’ll let myself out after I finish this…’’. The nervous scientist was about call out back when all of a sudden, the two at the front door grabbed Alphys, one by each arm, and lifted her off the ground fairly easily, and started walking her away from the house. ‘’W-wait, WHATAREYOUDOING?!?!’’ Alphys started to panic as she was lifted away by the two, Asgore was laughing heartedly, the panic amusing him a fair bit, and when he heard the front door close and the sounds of a spooked lizard disappear, he put his tea on the bench while leaning on the same thing. ‘’Alrighty, plan was a success, well I know where I’m starting.’’ He grinned as he started pulling a couple of bags of nails, some snacks and a lightbulb out of his pocket. Asgore was busy hitting some nails into the dining room table with a hammer. The first struggle when he started was hunting down some tools, he was certain the resident should have something, and after about half an hour of climbing around the house, going through cupboards, he finally noticed a shed in the backyard, he went over and plundered it, then got the hammer that he needed. The next step on the great adventure was to change the lightbulb in the dining room, he felt a little bit of pride in predicting its sorry state, which is why he had bought one from a store on the way down. The goat child was quite happy to find that changing the light bulb and making sure it worked didn’t take as long as the hammer hunt from earlier. When Asgore turned on the light, he looked around the room, expecting it to help him fix the table, but he quickly turned it off with a nervous look, as the light only showed even more issues in the dusty room, he didn’t need extra problems visualised at the moment. The table was the main project, the one he was hoping to bring all his work together as a spectacle and he was going to end up working on it for another hour or two without a break, the boredom really gave him time to think on the situation and develop his ideas. The first thing that he realised was that Undyne was probably the one that did a bunch of the maintenance of the house, and her leaving seemed to cause some form of stress for the poor scientist. Alphys needed some long-term help, someone to show her how to do stuff around here permanently, but he wasn’t going to be able to do that while at Gaster’s, not properly anyway. The youngster than suddenly had a lightbulb in his head, an idea perfect for everyone involved, one with no negatives to anyone involved. Now invigorated even further, Asgore went to straightening up the legs of the table, he was feeling a rush of determination that no amount of tiredness or boredom hold him back.
Alphys felt exhaustion as she was walking back home, a small bag with a couple of T-shirts, and dress. Nothing overly expensive since Bratty nor Catty couldn’t actually pay for much, which made it all the more stranger they came around, ’’Ok, next time, I choose boredom, I’m sorry I ever complained about it’’. Despite the voice’s talk she did enjoy hanging out with them, it was fun to talk and get out of the house and such, even if they did cheapskate a bit, and if choosing any form of clothes wasn’t stressful enough. But now she could feel her bed calling to her, ready allow her mind to fade to darkness from all the action she’d just experienced, socialising with those two was always a challenge, but her thoughts of that disappeared suddenly, ‘’W-w-why is th-there a l-light on? I-is someone b-breaking in?!’’, she gulped as she rushed to the front door, ‘’Robbers aren’t going to turn the light on you know… or fix it.’’ In a panic she tried unlocking the door but found it already unlocked. ‘’O-o-oh no....A-a-asgore forgot t-to lock the d-door before l-leaving.’’ The lizard monster decided it was for the best if she listened through the door before rushing in to danger, and she couldn’t hear anything being turned over, couldn’t hear anyone doing anything. Alphys attempted to open the door silently, turning the handle at a snail’s pace as she could feel her heartbeat speed up. Good, the entrance area hadn’t been ransacked, cool start she supposed, at least that’s what she was trying to tell herself. Keys in hand, holding it out in what she hoped was a threatening manner. The scared monster was now trying to slow her breathing as she took small steps towards the light filled room, the dining room obviously, ‘’H-h-here goes n-nothing’’ she whispered before jumping around the corner, looking into the dining room area. ‘’Wh-wh-wh-wh-what…….Whatareyoudoingherestill?!’’, Asgore was sitting a fairly good looking dining room table, at least comparatively, light on and with two sandwiches on the table, one for him and one obviously for a newcomer, which was no doubt her. The goat child had an apologetic smile as he felt a bit guilty, the lady looked as if she was ready to have a heart attack. ‘’Oh uh hey, sorry about that. Honestly wasn’t particularly sure the best way to do this, but I fixed your table and light, that’s cool right? Please um sit’’. Alphys took a few deep breaths before putting her keys on the bench and sitting down, looking at the quite simple ham and cheese sandwich. ‘’U-uh Asgore? Th-thanks for a-all th-this I s-suppose, b-but shouldn’t y-you be g-getting home, it’s g-getting quite late.’’ Asgore shook his head, a grin going across his face which made Alphys feel a little nervous, ‘’No, not really, I have a big proposition for you, I would like to help teach you how look after this house properly and also….move in here too’’. Alphys nearly spat out a bite of sandwich that she just took, taking a few seconds before swallowing safely, ‘’Al, he can’t do that can he?’’. The scientist seemed to be panicking once more. ‘’B-b-but…….G-g-gaster….wh-what about s-s-school….’’. The goat however didn’t look deterred one bit, he was expecting such a scared reaction. ‘’Ok let me break down all the foreseen issues. Gaster will be fine, after this I’m going to give him a call, and we’ll come to an agreement. School will be fine, I’m caught up and there’s a bus stop near here, only a couple minutes away.’’ Asgore paused for a few seconds before his expression came to one on realisation. ‘’Oh and uh don’t worry about having to go crazy shopping or anything, I’ll eat whatever you have, and maybe I can even do the shopping for you.’’ Asgore kept giving off a warm smile, while Alphys looked troubled, something was up here, and she wasn’t sure what. The goat was watching all the expressions on hr face, and he found it weird when all of a sudden, she seemed to be listening to something, nothing he could hear anyway. Alphys nodded, ‘’A-a-alright Asgore, umm p-perhaps y-you call Gaster n-now while I-I check s-something, and I’ll g-give you m-my answer then’’. Alphys stood up and passed Asgore her mobile, she was looking worried before she headed out a door, deeper in the house. The prince decided he would do the call out the front of the house.
Asgore was feeling a bit of dread and worry himself now, the rings felt like they were taking forever, he knew this was going to be a little painful emotionally, but it had to be done, for the better of everyone. Suddenly the rings stopped and heard the familiar voice, ‘’Oh hello, Alphys, why are you calling?’’ Asgore let out sigh, and he could already sense the Doctor’s demeanour get serious, ‘’Hey Gaster, sorry it’s a little late,’’ he said as he watched the sun setting. The voice on the phone, it’s curious tone turned to one of anger, ‘’A little late? ASGORE, WHERE THE HECK HAVE YOU BEEN, THE CURFEW WAS DUE HOURS AGO, TELL ME WHERE YOU ARE SO I CAN PICK YOU UP!!’’ The kid had to put the phone away from his ear, a small tinge of guilt seeping into his heart. ‘’Please calm down, no need to yell….but Sorry, but no can do, I’ve made some new arrangements….I won’t living with you guys anymore.’’ He could feel the tension rising, his voice no longer yelling, but still just as furious, ‘’Asgore you can’t just do that, you can’t just decide to move away! I will not have it!’’ He leant against the outside wall, now watching the screen, Alphys had a smiling picture of Gaster for the contact, he recognised it from a family photo he posted on the internet a long while ago…. he missed that smile. ‘’C’mon, I’m in safe hands, also I think some space between me and kids will be for the best…. some space between me and you, these feelings and tension aren’t going away.’’ ‘’Well maybe Asgore, instead of running away we can deal with them, like mature people’’. The child grimaced, his voice turning sarcastic with a hint of hostility, ‘’Oh yes, of course, because that’s totally worked out for the last, oh I dunno, month or so’’. The guardian over the phone’s tone also raised in contest of the sudden attack, ‘’Well maybe if you weren’t so stubborn and didn’t act like a petulant child, we wouldn’t be like this.’’ ‘’Ohoho, I’m the stubborn one, that’s literally like your main trait, nobody I’ve met has ever called you Compromising Gaster or Reasonable Gaster, you must eventually let others make their own decisions you know, you’re not going to be in control forever’’ Gaster was starting to sound real resentful, obviously aiming to antagonise out of anger ‘’Are you insane?! Control is not what I’m after, I’m here to keep you all safe, even if you’re to blinded by your ego to see that, you’re no king boy, merely a small prince trying play grown up….is that why you keep heading over to Grillby’s? Because they make you feel better about your age, want to feel like you can handle anything right, feel strong?’’ Asgore suddenly flared, ‘’That’s NOT IT DAMN IT!!’’. The two heated individuals suddenly started taking deep breaths, finally reaching the height of their anger for the night, the goat child was he first to break the silence of the last ten seconds, with a sad bitter laugh, there were obvious signs of being upset in his voice, ‘’Even when we’re not in the same room, we can’t keep it civil huh? This is the exact reason I have to do this, best for the others you know? Don’t worry, I’m safe, I’ll still be doing my usual responsibilities like school. If you need me, I’ll be at Alphys’ place, please don’t come to try change my mind.’’ There was a sigh on the other end of the line, a resigned weary one, ‘’Please…. just stay safe ok? Maybe at least check in occasionally?’’ ‘’Goodnight Old man’’. With that Asgore hung up the phone and looked up at the sky, the sun had finally sunk fully, just like his morale, leaving him to wonder if he’d made the right choice.
It was five minutes before Asgore headed back into the house to find Alphys back, seated at the dining room table, staring off into the table’s surface, looking a little pale. The goat gave a light knock on the table and Alphys jumped slightly, staring at him after taking a deep breath. She didn’t fail to notice Asgore’s demeanour and smile diminished slightly from previously, ‘’It’s fine on m-my end, how d-did it g-go?’’ Asgore a low energy thumbs up, ‘’We’re all good Al, thanks for that…’’, he then let out a yawn as he passed the phone back, ‘’…but I think I’m ready for a sleep now, alright if I just sleep on the couch? It’ll be fine trust me’’, he said predicting some slight resistance to it. ‘’Th-that’ll be f-fine Asgore, y-you’re welcome t-to sleep wh-where ever y-you w-want. Just s-sorry I d-didn’t have a w-welcome ready or s-something. T-t-tomorrow m-maybe we can d-do something f-fun then…b-but yeah n-now I’m feeling the exhaustion t-too.’’ Asgore walked up to Alphys with a nod, ‘’You know I think this will be a great partnership between us, you won’t regret this I promise. We’re gonna do some good work.’’ The kid’s smile seemed to brighten up a bit more as he offered his hand, the lizard’s expression did the same as she stood up and shook his hand, ‘’W-w-welcome aboard, I-I look forward t-to having you a-around. One m-moment p-please’’. Alphys left down a door to the side and came back with a blanket and pillow, ‘’H-here is y-your camping equipment, sl-sleep anywhere, if y-you need anything else, j-just take it….g-guess they c-call it make y-yourself at h-home huh?’’ Asgore nodded and took the two things of sleepwear, ‘’Thanks Alphys, glad to be aboard this vessel, we’ll get her to be the mightiest ship in due time. Good night, see you tomorrow morning.’’ Alphys nodded and waved ‘’S-sleep tight, s-sweet d-dreams.’’ She then headed off to her own bedroom while Asgore turned off the light and found a couch to snuggle up into, surrounding himself in the warm comforting blanket. Closing the door behind her, she started to get changed into PJ’s, ‘’You know, now life might actually be worth living now that it isn’t so boring, this kid will surely be a bundle of fun. What do you say Al?’’. Alphys smiled faintly, ‘’H-h-he’ll d-definitely be able t-to s-spice up th-the place….just hope I-I’m doing the right th-thing.’’ ‘’What you on about, we’re all gonna be good, perhaps it’ll cheer you up a bit, got to say though, your head is starting to match the house’’. Alphys sighed, ‘’Yeah…. hopefully it’ll be ok’’. She curled up into a ball on her bed in the darkness and started to ponder the consequences of allowing herself to have a housemate.

Falling Into A Different Destiny - Cops, Robbers, Strippers, And Error - Part 1
Where: In this Multiverse, all the Monsters Error doesn't know and does know are either criminals, crime lords, murders, hired assassins/hitmen/bodyguards, in the law force or medical job of some kind in some way or another, barely any are civilians. Magic works different, they can still use fighting magic, but it is only taught to those training in law enforcement. To use it outside of that is severally illegal. No other Gaster Blasters besides Error's, and magic has been used in technology making magic guns and such. Monsters were never trapped Underground, the War never happened. But that doesn't mean there wasn't hatred and racism happening over the years.
No pairings decided for this one yet.
With the Codes being harder to access, all Error could do was make a fake identity for him and his kids, only a little background and nothing else. So, selling the gold, he moved into a pretty slummy neighborhood in a cheap - and filled with all kinds of people that the police would either love to find and/or arrest but either have no dirt on them, they retired and now are in hiding or they changed their identities as well to hide from the cops - apartment and decided to steal everything he needs from now on as he can't get a job with having barely any past to his name in this world. He meets his new neighbors and thinks he should have moved into a different apartment complex when everything is said and done. Hearts - UnderLust!Sans - who is a single father who works as a stripper and lives to Error's right with his son Compassion - UnderLust!Papyrus - who is a few years older then Null. And because Error's life is just that much of a mess, Hearts and him somehow become best friends. Error's still not sure how that happened to be honest. On the left is Granny G - who never gives out her real name - who Error swears up and down is a retired assassin of some kind.
Doesn't stop her chocolate chip cookies from being so delicious though. Seriously, he doesn't care if she really is putting poison in it to try and kill him off, he will eat them all.
But the real mess starts when Error somehow gains the attention of both the cops and criminals of all kinds. How? He has no idea. But that doesn't change the fact he has nosy police officers, detectives, and criminals sniffing after him for whatever reasons.
The worst part is that it all started with a beautifully wrapped gift left in front of his door. Good thing Error is too paranoid for his own good, as when he carefully opens it he was already expecting it to be worse then it already was. He was expecting it to take down the whole apartment or leak a poisonous gas that will kill everyone but him. But nothing like that was in the box, in fact, Error didn't see the big problem with it. Just confused on why anyone would send it to him.
Error still doesn't get why Hearts freaked out so bad, it was just a pile of dust.
-Chapter Start-
Standing in a dirty lobby of a very dark apartment complex that looked like it should have already been condemned in a very shady and slummy neighborhood was not how Error saw himself spending his day, but sometimes a Monster had to make tough choices.
Walking up in a very dirty and dark alleyway wasn't where Error wanted to wake up either, but he made do. Accessing the Codes was a pain and a half, meaning that he was very far from his Multiverse. In fact, it was only because there were Monsters here that he could inter himself into the Codes to give himself and his kids a little paper trail. If no Monsters or magic were here, then he would have been out of luck. Error couldn't even look at the Codes to see who or what versions of the Monsters were living in this one big world. It was like he was on the edge of all the Multiverse where Monsters were.
But just peeking out where the buildings and people were, Error could tell he would have to keep his head down unless he wanted to be labeled a murder for protecting himself and his.
The buildings were not in a nice shape or colored brightly, some looked ready to fall at a moments notice and others had broken in windows with people screaming out of them at others on the ground, so it was obvious that Error was in the bad sort of city or neighborhood. The buildings and people reminded Error of a AU that was filled with nothing but crime. And while Error might be naive, oblivious to many things considered normal, and while he not the brightest tool in the shed, he isn't stupid by any means.
So without another thought, Error stole some cheap but pretty clothing for the kids to fit in better. He can still remember that man trying to take Null because of his clothing. So he made a random portal to a closed clothing store, messed with the cameras with his magic, and stole what he needed.
For Null, it was a light blue off the shoulder dress with little straps. The fabric that was off the shoulders was lace, little designs on it mixing with some darker blue. It was loose and Null could have made the bottom twirl if he spun around at any speed, stopping at his knees and designed to look like waves with a a white ribbon belt on the waist that made a big bow in the back. The dress was made out of cheap fabrics, but was still soft and breathable. Then he replaced the pearls with glass beads that were azure colored, that glittered like water in the light. Leaving on the his hat, shoes, and socks, Null was good to go.
Error stole a sleeveless pastel orange dress with a tutu lace bottom for Void. It had on pale red and yellow roses on it with a little pale red rose and pale green bow in the middle of collar of the dress. Trading the peals for pastel orange beads that looked like a sunset when the light hit them, and then keeping on the hat, shoes, and socks, he too was ready to go.
At the least, Error didn't have to do anything with himself just yet. He looked like he fit right in with this shady neighborhood. Didn't that say a lot about himself?
After packing everything up, messing with as much as the Code as he could, and making sure that the kids were fine and knew what was going on, Error finally went out in the open with them and sold only a few bits of the gold - as to not seem suspicious - and find a place for them to live that is dirt cheap.
That it what lead to Error standing in a dirty lobby of a very dark apartment complex that looked like it should already be condemned in a very shady and slummy neighborhood, which was not how Error saw himself spending his day, but sometimes a Monster had to make tough choices.
The land lords - a very twitchy human man in his forties who was balding that always glanced to the shadows suspiciously and a Rat Monster that looked like he could put a knife in between anyone's eyes at a moments notice. Error's seen that look before on many Charas. - had given him a lease to sign - which also had a clause to where he had to come to them before calling the police for any matter unless a axe murder was literally swinging in the building and killing everyone, ambulances he didn't have to ask for because if someone died in the building it lowered the prices and police would get involved if someone died and they caught wind of it. That told Error all he needed to know about the place he was going to live in with his kids. But then again, Error is most likely the most dangerous one in the building, so he can't complain. He will slow clap if anyone is dumb enough to try anything to him or the kids before painfully killing them off for even thinking let alone trying such a thing. - and then a key for the third floor - which they called floor R - in room R03.
It also said a lot about the land lords that when they noticed that even though Error didn't have any furniture when he moved in but suddenly had all the furniture he could ever need - including but not limited to; kitchen supplies, food of all kinds, sewing and knitting supplies, toys, and new clothing. He made sure all the items came from another country. He wasn't that dumb enough to steal from the city he was living in. - when they had to come up for him to sign a few more papers, all they did was blink. Not one question came from them. But Error did notice the Rat Monster - Called Cheese of all things. Notice it was 'called', not 'named'. Error didn't ask, he wasn't a hypocrite. - gave him a impressed look before he left.
Portals made everything better if not easier as long as you don't get caught, Error knew this for a fact on both accounts.
For the next two days, everything went fine. Error gave the kids the second bedroom, setting up their beds and decorations, putting clothing into the closet. As Error didn't need sleep, he made the master bedroom - which was honestly only slightly bigger then then kids's room, the only difference was that his had the fire escape. There were two fire escapes on the building, one behind the building and one on the left side of the building, Error's bedroom was at the back of the building. It was also the reason he didn't give it to the kids; What if someone tried to break in through the fire escape? - into a work station for his sewing and knitting with only a small bed that could fit him and the kids on if need be and a small TV and old computer. It was all plain to where the kids's room were colored blue and orange. He even found out how to work the big bowl in the bathroom for him and the kids, finally cleaning up the blood stains of himself and making the babybones's bones sparkle. Sure, they flooded the bathroom, but it turned out fine after words.
It really said a lot about this neighborhood that no one even looked at Error funny or even said a thing about it when he walked around bleeding and dust flaking off him. Or even getting a apartment looking like that. It told him everything he needed to know about the Land Lords and the neighborhood.
But on the third night was the night were Error finally met his neighbors, and gained a leach that refuses to let go no matter what Error does or says.
"HMMmM...." Error hummed, stitching together a little Error doll for his kids. Why they have been asking for one, he will never know. It was quiet, late at night or really early morning. The kids were asleep in their beds for the first time, they had for the past few nights slept in Error's lap or bed while he laid down in it for them. Now Error could have checked the time on his cell phone - one of the only things he bought, but then again he got it in a really sketchy store just down the street for dirt cheep for it being a touch phone. So it was probably stolen from a dead body or something at one point, just not by Error. - but was feeling to lazy too.
Error sighed, lifting up the hand sized doll to eye level. "NoW WhaT iS nEXT-"
"YOU SLUT!" A angered voice yelled out, a slight slur to it.
Years of having to always be on the move - being hunted and hurt in so many different ways so often he had to move unless he wanted to be hurt or blinded once more, his fellow Monsters trained him to move as he did. - was the only reason Error was at his front door as quick as he was and why he stopped just short of opening the door. Paranoia is not always a bad thing to have, especially in Error's case.
Bangs and stomping sounded out, stopping close to his door.
"LET ME GO!" A slightly higher pitched male's voice screamed out, clear as day. "NO! PLEASE!"
"YOU WHORE! JUST STAY STILL-"
That was Error once. Maybe in a different setting, but that was him at one time as he was beaten for days, weeks on end. He screamed for help, for Mercy, but was never getting it. Only mocked for being so weak, for wanting the pain to stop.
Then Error picked up on shifting in his kids's room with his powerful hearing, making him know that all this yelling and screaming was waking them up.
'This fucker!' Error's eye socket twitched as he wrenched the door open. 'Do you have any idea how long it took to get them to go asleep alone?! I'm not having them wake up because some shit stain can't just take a no!'
Error didn't want to admit to himself that he would have helped even without the kids waking up from the noise. He wouldn't want another call for help to go unanswered like his was.
With two long steps, Error was out in of the hallway of floor R, and his eyes immediately caught the source of the yelling.
A pig Monster that came to Error's neck, dressed in a tussled white dress shirt, black dress pants, and a tie undone, was leering over and ripping at a skeleton Monster's coat from what Error could see. The screaming and yelling growing with every tug as the skeleton tried to push the other off.
With the pig so distracted, he never saw Error's fist coming straight at him.
Hearts was not having the best night, not that any night he has is by any means perfect. Being a stripper - no matter how much he loves pole dancing - is not the easiest job, but it puts food on the table for him and his son. He didn't get the best sleep for working so late to early morning, but he made do for the light of his life. Hearts would do anything for his son, no matter if he was planned or not.
But that didn't change the fact that some people can't take a no. He is a pole dancer, a stripper, not a prostitute. He doesn't sleep with people for money, he strips, teases, dances, and flirts with people for money. Nothing more, nothing less. He was just glad that his strip club was one of the more safer ones where the bouncers would actually help them if they called for it.
This pig was one of the ones that came to watch him every night for the past few months. Always flirting and asking for a bit more then Hearts can give. Usually he could flirt his way out of it with a few extra bucks in his pockets for his trouble, but it seems the Pig has had enough liquid courage to follow him home and try to force Hearts into giving into what he wanted.
So Hearts screamed even though he knew no one would come. Not in this kind of apartment where retired criminals, active criminals, and where snitches get stitches. But he didn't want to get raped, not here or ever. Especially not where his son could wake up and hear.
It was honestly luck that Hearts's heart shaped eyes caught what happened next.
Suddenly a fist came out of nowhere and slammed into the pig's head, making him slam into the ground and bounce with a sicken crunch. The pig bounced three times before settling face first onto the floor, that was how hard he was hit and how hard he hit the ground.
Quickly turning, he was greeted with a tall skeleton Monster that glitched where he stood. He was wearing a black sweater, long red scarf, dark blue jeans, and red and yellow tennis shoes. His hands were covered in leather gloves from what Hearts could see. But what really made Hearts stare at the taller skeleton Monster - Hearts only came up a head and a half above his elbows - was all the scars on him. This Monster has been through some shit and seen things that would make Hearts SOUL crawl, he just knew it. Hearts has seen many people in strip clubs that are in the wrong, right, or middle of the law and moral spectrum, has seen people who have killed. This Monster has killed before, by the way he stood and how much power was coming off him, Hearts knew.
But that didn't change the fact that this Monster is his hero right now.
Looking at the Pig Monster in disgust, Error glanced to the skeleton Monster and was surprised to see it was a UnderLust Sans. Sure, he was in different clothing. A thick purple and black coat, black leggings and purple boots, the most Error has ever seen a Lust!Sans covered. Error never thought he would be saving a counterpart that drowned in his own lust. But seeing the little tears in the Lust!Sans's eyes, it only fueled his rage at this piece of-!
'Well....That gives me a wonderful idea.' A wicked smirk worked it's way up Error's face as he leaned down to grabbed one of the ankles of the Pig Monster. Getting up, he dragged the Monster to the nearby window on the right side of the building, only a couple of feet away in fact. Opening the window, Error glanced down. No fire escape, but there was dumpster right below in the alley.
'It's only the third floor he's falling from, and it's open with bags inside.' Error didn't even huff or break a sweat as he grabbed onto one of the Pig's arm and leg, sliding the Pig out the window, and let him hang there for a few moments. While Error hated being the destroyer, this was different. This piece of trash didn't deserve any Mercy from Error. This Monster has committed a sin, many sins as Error could see inside his SOUL with his Judgment. Before he was forced into being a destroyer, before he was called and named Error, he was a Sans, a Judge to all Monsters. Even if he doesn't remember being a Sans or a Judge, it doesn't change the fact he was one and has the power of the Judge. Right now, he is going to give his Judgement, give the other his karma. If all the other Monsters can kill a child for their supposed 'sins', then Error can give true Judgement to real sins. Error gave a wicked grin, a deadly gleam in his eyes. 'He should live from this. Maybe. Probably.'
Error let go of the Pig, letting him fall to the unforgiving ground below.
Not even bothering to check to see if the Pig landed into the dumpster or didn't crack his head on the corners, Error swiftly closed the window once more just as a thump and crack sounded out. Swiftly turning, he started walking back to his apartment.
Hearts could only take in deep breaths at what he just saw happen. And for the life of himself, he couldn't help be feel thankful.
The glitching Monster paused right in front of him, side stepping the blood and slight dust on the ground. "i TOOk OUt yOur TrASh foR YoU." Hearts had to hold back a snort at that. Trash, it was a pretty accurate term for that Monster. Then the stranger gestured to the blood. "yOU shOUld tElL ThE lAnd lOrdS tO clEaN thAT UP." And with that, he walked on. To Hearts shock, he opened the door next door and walked in, closing the door. A soft click sounded out, singling that the new neighbor had locked it.
Blankly taking out his cell phone, he texted the land lords about the blood. Then, Hearts numbly opened his door and walked into the apartment he has had to call home for some years.
'Someone just saved me.' Hearts limply fell into his pink couch. 'A threatening looking Monster just saved me from being raped and most likely worse.'
It was habit to not talk to the neighbors, or at least most of them. Granny G was sweet, even if there was something unsettling about her. But this Monster most likely just killed another Monster right in front of him. But what Hearts should be asking himself is; Does he care about that.
'No.' Hearts chuckled tiredly to himself. 'I don't care.'
That Monster saved him when he didn't have to. Okay, he most likely committed murder, but so what? Most of the people in this building has done worst things for worse reasons. This Monster did it to save Hearts, did it when Hearts was screaming for help. Hearts has always been in the morally grey area anyway, hard not to be when you live on the wrong side of the train tracks.
But the main thing is that this strange Monster saved him, meaning that he still has his son. What would happen if he was killed right there? What would happen to his little boy? What if his son heard everything and came out to investigate? All those fears could have happened right then and there.
Compassion, his lovely son, was a accident from a one night stand. Honestly Hearts was too drunk to even remember that night, it only coming back when ten months social services called him asking him if he wanted his son.
When he first held him, Hearts knew he was gone.
While he couldn't get the best job out there, he could be a better person. Hearts stopped sleeping around, stopped giving into his lustful feelings. He become more loving instead, more happy with his son then he had been without.
And if that strange Monster didn't save him, his son would have been place into a home and lost in the system, never getting the chance to get out of this hell hole that they call home.
It's no wonder then that when eight o'clock am rolls around, Hearts and Compassion stand in front of their new neighbor's door.
-Three Days Later-
"Error~" Error twitched from his place at the microwave. "Error~"
"WhAT?!" Error finally snapped back, turning his head to glance into his small living room. "WhaT IS sO ImpORtANT hEaRTs?!"
Hearts was laying on Error's couch, all three kids napping in Null's and Void's room. It was a sleepy Thursday. Hearts was wearing a purple and pink shirt, black jeans and his purple boots were off for now.
Hearts grinned to where Error stood in the small open kitchen, lazily waving one hand. "Hi~"
'I'm going to kill him.' Error thought to himself blankly, slowly turning his head back to the microwave that was making popcorn that Hearts asked for. 'Compassion loves the kids, I'm sure Hearts wouldn't be missed too much.'
Now how this is all happening - that a UnderLust!Sans is in his home and claiming to be friends with Error, which to Error is him not leaving Error alone and being a annoying leach. - was a mystery to Error.
-It started the morning after Error saved the heart eyed skeleton.
Null and Void were sitting at the little kitchen table that Error stole, munching on some microwave pancakes while Error tried to figure out the process on how to make scrambled eggs via internet so that he can actually make the kids something.
So while the eggs were slowly heating up - Error was debating if he should turn the heart up even more or not. Surly it being hotter means that it cooks faster....Right? - someone knocked on the door.
Paranoid, Error told the kids to stay where they were. Going to the door, he tensed to get ready for anything, only to find the same skeleton he saved on the other side with a child that looked a few years older then Null.
Glancing at the child, Error was shocked to find that they were a UnderLust!Papyrus dressed in a pink sweater with little yellow hearts all over it, a black skirt, and pink tennis shoes. His little pink heart eyes starring up at him in awe.
Turning away from the child, he looked back to the adult skeleton. "WhaT dO YOu wANt? MOrE trASh nEEded tO gET rID Of?" While confused, some part of Error was worried. Did the Pig actually get out of the dumpster to try again? If so, then Error would be highly impressed. Or did he call friends? Or something else? Did someone break into their home?! Or maybe they know something is wrong with him, trying to get dirt on him to tell scientist or people in charge to take him and the kids away, meaning he will have to go all Destroyer on their asses to save himself and the children, then living life on the run for Fate only knows long!
It said a lot about Error that he immediately went to those kind of scenarios instead of others. Him and paranoia are close friends they might as well be family and/or married.
"No!" Hearts shook his head then gave Error a bright smile. "I'm Hearts Zeal," Hearts patted the child's skull. "this here is my son, Compassion Zeal. I just wanted to thank you for last night."
"okAy, i GuEsS...." Error didn't know what he was being thanked for but decided to just take it. He most likely hurt that pig Monster badly with how hard he hit him if not killing him, so he didn't think that was what he was being thanked for. The one time he offered to off someone for Swap, Swap nearly went into hysterics. Error took that as a no. So he might be missing something here, but is in no need to question  it. ".....IS thAT aLL?" He had to figure out the mystery of eggs damn it!
"Oh, ummm...." Hearts glanced away, biting his lip for a moment before straightening up and looking up at Error. "Okay, I'm going to be straight with you."
Error blinked, Hearts seemed to take that as a sign to continue.
"From now on," Here, Hearts gave a smirk with laughter dancing in his eyes but all in all looked deadly serious. "I am your stalker."
Error had no time to say anything, because at that exact moment the eggs literally blew up in a small fiery explosion.
Nothing caught on fire, and Error and Hearts easily put it out.
But Error still took it as a sign about how having Hearts as a self-proclaimed stalker was going to go.-
The worst thing was that Hearts grew on Error, if only for the fact he was also just a father trying his best for his son like how Error is.
It also helped that Hearts was nothing like the Original Lust in his Multiverse. Hearts was more affectionate where Lust was lustful. Where Hearts went for a hug, Lust went for a grope. And while they both are flirty, Lust did it to get someone to sleep with him. Hearts did it for shits and giggles, to see other peoples reactions, it was just apart of who he was.
"Oh!" Error finally took out the popcorn, walking to Hearts who was flicking through channels on the TV. "Granny G is coming home soon!"
"GrAnNy G?" Error questioned, shoving the popcorn bag to Hearts.
Hearts smiled, sitting up and shoving a hand full of popcorn into his mouth. He loved snacks so much, but never has the money to buy any for himself. "Mmmhmmm." Hearts hummed before swallowing the buttery snack. "Granny G is your other neighbor. I think she is the only good person in the building! She makes the best cookies and-"
If there was one good thing about Hearts, Error thought to himself as he watched a commercial for soda and keeping close attention to what Hearts was saying, was that he always gave Error all the information he needs or all Hearts knows and wouldn't leave anything out. If Error asked a question, Hearts would answer to the best of his knowledge. And while the stripper wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, he knew some facts about a lot of people because of all the people he sees or hears about in the building or at the club. Error knew Hearts could be one hell of a spy or double agent if he tried hard enough.
"Daddy?" Error tilted his head back over the couch to look behind him to see Null sleepily rubbing his eyes in his nightgown - a light blue nightgown that had a hood with cat ears on them and a little tail on the back of it - as he stumbled out of his room not too far away. Lifting his arms, Null gave Error a pleading look. "I'm thirsty."
If Hearts would have blinked, he would have missed it. It was like Error teleported, because one moment he was sitting on the couch, then next he was in front of Null. Hearts watched with a smile as Error picked up Null and headed to the little kitchen.
'Error's such a good father...' Hearts turned back to the TV, munching on more popcorn. 'But he is in no way normal.'
Living in such a crappy part of town, growing up in it, and having a job where one hears the worst things made Hearts notice and be more aware about people, where they fit in or what kind of person they are.
Error, from what Hearts can tell, has been hurt and hurt badly. His bones look so brittle, yet they are still going strong. Hearts saw Error lift the couch with one hand to move it in front of the TV without breaking a sweat, and this couch that Hearts is sitting on isn't at all light weight. Cracks and scars all over his skull like a spiderweb, multicolored eyes always looking for a threat. The dark skeleton has been hurt, and his past is most likely not a pretty one.
Paranoia is not something one can just gain without reason. Even a nightmare can give someone paranoia, but not at the levels that Error has. He always checks on his kids every hour on the hour when they sleep - Hearts stayed the night last night because Compassion wanted them to spend the night there, like a sleepover for the whole family. Error couldn't say no when all the kids asked him for permission. Hearts was just happy that Error didn't deny them all being a family now, it warmed his SOUL. - and he himself never slept. In fact, Hearts has yet to see him eat or go outside. Error doesn't have a job, and Hearts honestly thinks he steals everything, only buying when he has to. Not that Hearts sees anything wrong with that, you have to do what you have to do for your life and your children's lives as well. But what worries him is that Error doesn't even try to get to know people.
Hearts was kind of joking when he first told Error he was going to be his stalker, just to lighten the mood for them all. But Error took it seriously, but at the same time doesn't care that Hearts is supposed to be stalking him. But now after a few days, Hearts would openly admit to being Error's friend and stalker, stalker best friend, if it means helping the poor Monster out. No one should live like this no matter what, no matter what their past was.
It honestly made Hearts wonder just what Error went through for him to look at his own knitting needles like they were weapons. For his hands to go to his ribs as if expecting someone to kick them in or as if they are in pain. That when Hearts makes too sudden of a move, he goes in high alert and watches Hearts like a hawk, getting in between Hearts and the children.
But then again, Hearts doesn't want to know what kind of monsters Error has met and had to deal with. He might just loose his apatite and lunch all in one.
'But,' Hearts smirked, peeking back to see Error carrying Null back into the kids's room to finish his nap with the others. 'I have a foolproof plan to help Error get out more!'
You know the saying? About best laid plans?
Error stilled, just having laid down Null and tucked him back into his bed. A shiver going down his spine and horror creeping up his SOUL.
They never really work out the way you want them to.
-The Next Day, Afternoon-
Operation 'Get Error To Laze Around In Delight' was a go!
Or, what is better called in his mind, operation 'GET LAID'.
'GET LAID starts today!' Hearts smiled widely as he knocked on Error's door. He wanted Error to relax more, to go outside for once. Sure, he could get mugged. But honesty? Hearts pitted the poor fool that thinks it's a good idea to try that with Error. He can still see that Pig Monster bouncing three times before settling, then being dragged only to be dropped out the window. And that was from someone attacking a stranger at the time, so what would happen if it was Error himself or even the kids? Yeah, no. There wouldn't be anything left to clean up by the time Error would be through, Hearts know this just by looking at him. Over-protective papa Monsters are not ones to mess with.
So, better not to start with dragging him out against his will, if Hearts could even do that. Hearts could see that turning ugly in a soulbeat. For everyone but Error. 'Better to start small and work my way up. Worse comes to worse, I'll use the kids against him.' Error could never deny his kids anything from what he can see, unless it was something life threatening as Hearts did see him scold Void for trying to pick up a sharp knife that Hearts had accidentally dropped when he made dinner for them all two nights ago.
The door creeks open, red sockets holding multicolored eyes in a dark glitching skull peek out. Then a harsh sigh sounds out. Opening the door fully, Error blankly looks down at Hearts. "WhAT?"
"Granny G came back this morning!" Hearts grinned brightly up Error's annoyed face. "Come on, I should introduce you to her."
"WhY?" Error asked confused, not seeing the point in it. He nods at Compassion, who was quick to scamper into the apartment to see Null and Void.
"She actually is my babysitter when I need one, and she also tutors Compassion." Hearts admitted, rubbing the back of his head. "I don't trust the schools in the area, and the ones out of the area are too expensive. Granny G used to be a teacher of some kind, she has the credits and papers needed if the government comes asking, so she homeschools Compassion for me a few times a week." Hearts leaned over, glancing into the living room to look at Null, Void and Compassion playing with some dolls that Error made on a rug near the TV. "I figured she could do the same for your kids once they reach that age."
Error had been playing to teach his kids everything he knew about the Multiverses, AU's, magic and SOULS, but he could admit that he was lost in normal subjects like literature and history, especially ones in this world. Error knows basic math, complicated math for some science equations, at the least, but nothing that his kids will need to learn later on, he also didn't trust himself to teach all the science he knew to them, the science he knew much more life threatening and not known in this world as it deals with his magic and the Multiverse as a whole. So, Hearts idea wasn't that bad. The problem was that it would be a while before they would need to go to school, Monsters are slow aging. So unless this Granny G had some Monster blood in her - which in this world it's technically not be impossible for her to have some down the line somewhere if not in the last few generations as Monsters were never trapped Underground, and secret relationships do happen. - then Error will be looking for someone else.
But it is always best to keep options open. There was no way in hell Error was letting his kids go to some kind of school, especially not one in this city. He didn't like it when they were out of his sight, fearing that Inky or Fate would come and take them away from him.
It will be a fear that will never leave him. There's a reason he doesn't sleep besides the fact he doesn't have to. Error and nightmares are very dear friends, so much so that Error questioned Nightmare about it only to find it wasn't his doing.
Error looked Hearts up and down before sighing. "FinE." Turning to look into the living room, Error called out. "KIDs ComE oN! We'RE gOINg tO gO mEEt OuR OtHER nEiGHboRE."
"Okay~" Null called out, getting up to put away the dolls with Compassion. Void on the other hand, clumsy stood and toddled over to Error, raising his hands up. "Daddy~"
With a sigh, Error bent down and lifted up Void into his arms. "WhAT iS iT YoU liTtlE TeRRoR?" Error asked while Null and Compassion came running to them after putting everything away.
"Kiss~" Void cooed out, patting his cheek where he wanted his Daddy to kiss him at. Error could have hit Hearts for teaching his sons about kisses. At least they know not to ask strangers for them, but now he has to keep giving them kisses along with Compassion who just looks up at him so sadly for not getting one.
After giving all the kids a kiss, and Hearts a glare for asking for one too but luckily the kids thought he was talking to them so they gave Hearts one, they were out the door and into the hallway. Swiftly locking the door, Error looked to Hearts who was already at the door on the left side.
"Granny G?" Hearts called out as he knocked on the door. "I brought our new neighbors to meet you~" He practically sang out while Error came to stand behind him, keeping a eye out. Error doesn't trust this place, he only knows that no one will talk unless they wanted to risk their lives and more for whatever award they think they are getting. But that doesn't mean that no one will try anything eventually.
After a few moments, the door opened and Error nearly started laughing.
A older women in her sixties was on the other side of the door. Her graying hair done up in a bun with some knitting needles in them. Her loose black shirt and flowing brown skirt was simple and understated. She was wearing some brown boots and her eye lit up when she saw them. But this what normal people saw, what people wanted to see when they looked at her.
The reason for Error wanting to laugh at her? The knitting needles were sharper then they needed to be, much like knives in fact. And Error knows that knitting needles can kill, he's done it before with dull ones in fact. The loose shirt and flowing skirt made it easier to hide things in and make her look delicate and thinner then she was. The boots were sturdy and made of leather, something that she shouldn't be wearing inside or on a older person unless hiking. Her eyes may have lit up, but Error can see the steal edge to them, the darkness behind them.
Error wanted to laugh because he knows without looking at her SOUL that she has some LOVE and EXP to her. It was harder to look at ones SOUL in this Multiverse when they were conscious or even just guarded at any time. To do so, Error would need their trust wither they know it or not to be able to see their SOUL. The Pig Monster was unconscious, and it would hurt to forcibly look at the others SOUL so he did so because the other was trash in his eyes. But that doesn't stop Error from listening to his instincts and feelings, and he knows that this human has killed before. Error is not blind like the rest.
The really funny thing is that this older human knew this as well once she looked at Error. A look in the eyes, a truce was formed and a pack made.
You don't hurt mine, I won't hurt yours.
"Hearts!" Granny G smiled brightly, her eyes swiftly going to the taller skeleton behind the one she greeted. Those eyes would not be fulled and it felt like her very being was on display. It made her itch, but she knew this one wouldn't tell anything. His eyes were too dark and old for them to care about her, but the way he held the child in his arms screamed that they were his weakness. But is it a weakness when she felt going after them would mean death? No. Besides, she was not like that anymore. Having lost everything, she had came here for a fresh start, trying to find a new family.
Maybe they found her?
Keeping her smile, Granny G opened her door for them all. "Come in! Hearts you have to tell me about has went on while I was away!" Granny G smiled up at the tallest one, who was still staring down at her. "I'm Granny G, please come in! I just made some chocolate chip cookies."
Hearing the word chocolate, Error didn't hesitate going in. It was only when everyone was seated, the kids drawling at the coffee table and Hearts talking up a storm with Granny G - Error swears that they must have a spy network together with how much he was hearing from the both of them, unknowingly on Hearts part who most likely sees it as a gossip ring - that Error picked up one of the cookies and finding nothing off about it did he pick it up and bite into it.
Error has just found heaven, even if he had suspicions that Granny G put something inedible in it for normal Monsters and/or humans. He doesn't care if this old women is a assassin or some kind of killer, he will gladly keep her around as long as he gets more cookies. Besides, he's most likely done way worse then she ever has before.
"So, Error." Error glanced up from his cookies, seeing Granny G looking at him with a bright smile that made him want to twitch. "What do you do for a living?"
'A...living?' Error's eyes narrowed in thought, trying to understand what she was asking for. "WhAT Do YoU MEaN 'A LIviNG'?"
"A job." Hearts answered for Granny G, who looked slightly confused at Error. "What do you do to get money, things, items, and food is what she means. Like my job as a stripper."
"OH. ThaT'S WhaT YOu mEAnT." Error nodded in understanding. "A JOb? i Don'T HAve OnE."
Hearts eyes widened at this fact while Granny G was starting to look worried, Worried for what? Error has no idea and doesn't want to know really.
"What do you mean you don't have a job?!" Hearts spluttered, making the kids look up at him in confused worry. "How did you get all that furniture and food then?!"
"i StOle ThEm." Error stated bluntly, making Hearts start choking and Granny G laughing. "i hAvE MonEY tO pAy FoR tHE RoOm, BuT NoT EvERyHIng ElsE." Error eyes glared into the other two adults, making them freeze at the feelings crawling up their backs. "i WiLL nOT HAvE mY ChILDrEN WanTiNG."
That was enough for the other two to close their mouths. Seeing this, Error turned to look down at the children. Wide, watery eyes stared up at him. Gulping, Error slowly held up the bitten cookie in his hands to them as if it was a bomb rather then the truce he was offering it as. "....CoOkIE?"
Hearts quietly snorted at how awkward Error was, even to children let alone his own kids. Hearing the taller skeleton openly admit to stealing everything was a shock and a half, but knowing why he did it cooled anything that would have made him worry. From one father to another, Hearts understood doing anything for one's kid. Just to make sure they have better then you ever did, had a way out of the hell you call home, and to make sure that they have more options then you did, to not make the same mistakes because they have other ways to go. The only worry he had now was Error admitting that to the police or some shady character that would use this information against Error.
Glancing over to Granny G, Hearts and her had a conversation with their eyes. After a few minutes, Granny G nodded to Hearts once, respect in her eyes along with something Hearts couldn't understand. Putting that away for now, Hearts turned his head over to look at Error and chuckled at what he saw
Somehow the kids convinced Error to sit on the ground with them around the coffee table. Cookie crumbs all over them as they all drew together. Error's brow was frowning as he growled lowly, all three kids in his lap as they all tried to direct him into making something.
"No!" Compassion shook his head from his side of Error's lap on the right side, pointing to the pink marker. "You should make them pink!"
"But blue is so much better!" Null argued back, a pout on his face as he picked up a light blue marker. "It would fit better!"
"Daddy!" Void suddenly burst in, waving a yellow marker up at said Daddy while chewing on a orange marker that was thankfully closed and not open. "Y'llo!"
"GoOD JoB vOId, YeLLoW." Error congratulated and then corrected the youngest absently mindlessly as he read the names of the colors on the markers. "StRAWbErRy ReD? YoUR fuCKiNG WiTh ME! ThIS coLOR iS nOthINg lIKe a StRAwbERRy...."
"Error." Error glanced up from the markers, meeting Hearts worried but determined face head on. "Don't tell anyone you steal, okay? I won't ask how you do it, but don't let anyone else know. Especially if magic is involved." Error blinked, not knowing what to say to that before shrugging and nodding. It didn't matter to him if anyone knew, but it may cause problems to his kids. So he will take the warning to SOUL for now. Even if that bit about magic was weird.
Letting out a breath he was holding, Hearts turned back to his conversation with Granny G. Hearts knew that Error had magic, and a lot of it. It seemed to come off him in waves. But as long as he didn't use it, Error could have the excuse of just having a lot of Magic inside of him and never been using it. Rare and uncommon, but it has happened before. Monsters couldn't control how much magic they had, they were born with magic and it built up as they grew.
But none of that changed the fact that most magic is illegal to do while you didn't have the  license to prove you can do it and have the necessary training. Only the few random magic is not illegal, and if in the right instance, like self-defense, is it allowed without a license as long as the - what most call - 'Fighting' magic was done accidentally. So many loopholes and technicalities that the laws on magic was a blurred line that could get anyone in prison or a death penalty.
But for some reason, Hearts had a feeling that Error wouldn't care about any of that and somehow get out of it all. And while that would be quite awe inspiring and equally hilarious, Hearts didn't want to see any police officers or criminals of any kind coming after Error.
-Later, Hearts is going to cry thinking that it's all his fault that all this shit is happening to Error, He jinxed him!-
The rest of the day passed, and Hearts considered the first part of his plan, 'GET LAID', a success. No one died, got hurt, dusted, nor was anyone being escorted out via police and handcuffs. Not that anyone would just call the police for just anything in this apartment complex.
Next week though will be the first real trial of getting Error out more. Hearts only hopes that no one dies, and he's not worrying at all about Error in this case.
Hearts worries for all those unsuspecting people outside when he unleashes Error on them all.
-Next Week-
"WhY cAn'T YoU gET iT?" Error frowned, very confused as Hearts handed him some money. "i DoN't SeE wHY I nEEd TO gO. ThE KiDs-"
"Will be fine." Hearts cut off the other, taking a firm stance in front of Error. "But we both need band-aids, kids sunscreen, and other little things. Don't worry, I made you a list." Hearts added in, shoving a piece of paper into Error's hands who just glared down at the purple clad skeleton. "Since we both need some, I don't mind paying for it as Compassion and I have been eating your food." Hearts went on - and it was the truth. Hearts has saved up some money as he hasn't had to buy as much food lately, so he doesn't mind doing this. - not even blinking at the glare directed at him.
"WhY DO WE EveN neeD ThIS stUFF anYWAy?" Error questioned, narrowing his eyes down at the list, wishing he had his glasses with him. He would have to get new ones or look in the travel bag, they could be in his old shorts now that he thought about it.
"I have a surprise planed for the kids next week, and I want to be prepared for anything." Hearts gave a grin to Error, who just twitched. "I'll watch the kids for now. It shouldn't take you too long. There is a corner store just around the block."
The next faze of 'GET LAID' was rather simple, get Error outside alone somehow. This way Error wouldn't blow up in someway in the next fazes of the plan. Sure, there was a chance someone was going to die, but they deserved it if they even thought of trying anything with Error, who looked like he can murder someone by with just a twitch of his finger. So going to the store is a great way to get him, but because the other steals for a living - Hearts still doesn't know how he does it. Error never leaves his apartment, so how can he steal all the food that was in his fridge?! On the other hand, he doesn't want to know. - Hearts had to play this in a different way. By saying he needed things and would rather Error buy them for him as he wasn't feeling the best. In other words, Hearts is playing sick. The best and yet worrying thing about the whole thing was that Error at first thought someone had hurt Hearts before he explained it was just a little headache.
So, now here was Hearts in Error's apartment - which has became more and more like home the more time he and his son spend time in it with the Miscalculation family. - with him trying to get Error outside the door without pushing him out of it. Not that Hearts even for a moments thinks he can do that to Error.
Error looks Hearts up and down before tilting his head to see Null, Void, and Compassion at the table eating lunch together, microwave kiddie dinners that Error had stolen last night from another city via portal. Taking a deep breath in, then sighing, Error finally decided to just go with it so the counterpart would leave him be. "fINe. BuT DOn't bLAme ME iF i GEt sOMEthINg wrONG." The 'or if someone dies a very horrible, bloody death by my hands because of their stupidity' was silent but heavily implied by Error's tone. Error has seen a lot out of his windows, in daylight and in nighttime. There was no way in the VOID that Error was going to let Null or Void outside in this neighborhood. In fact, he would fight Hearts so that Compassion wouldn't go outside if it came to it.
Hearts grin grew, heart shaped eyes lighting up. "Thank you~" Hearts cooed as Error huffed and walked out the door. Hearts leaned out the door as Error went for the stairs instead of the elevator. Error glanced over his shoulder to see Hearts waving at him as if he was on a boat about to take off. Shaking his head, Error went down the stars, hearing his door shut and lock with his way above average hearing. With one worry out of mind, Error focused on the task given - forced - to him by Hearts.
It said a lot that it only took Error a few steps outside the complex before everything went to hell and back.
Hearing shuffling in the alleyway just by the complex, Error nonchalantly glanced in as he walked by only to blink as he slowly came to a stop at what he saw.
A tall Papyrus skeleton, one that looks similar in a way all Papyruses do but in no way looked like one he has ever saw before as this Papyrus had some weird markings in black on his bones, dressed in a white suit that was now stained with blood was standing over some dead human bodies in broad daylight. If nothing else, Error had to give him points for balls. But on the other hand, none of the kids are going out at night nor is Hearts walking alone to work anymore. Now he is going to have to ask Granny G for a favor to watch the kids as he walks Hearts to work and back.
By the tall Papyrus was a MobTale!Gaster in a black suit and fedora, which actually made Error relax a bit because of the fact that something is making sense in this weird Multiverse. Before Error could just continue on walking, the Gaster sharply turned and looked right at the glitching skeleton.
Because of the sharp movement of the other, the Papyrus also turned and seemed to blink in shock at seeing Error. Error could only imagine what they were thinking, seeing a dark glitching skeleton in a stitched up red sweater, black pants, tennis shoes, messenger bag, and long red scarf. Maybe they were looking at his markings? His scars? Chips? Tear marks? In any case, they both seemed to be talking with their eyes and gestures before slowly turning and walking to where Error stood in front of the entrance to the alleyway.
The Papyrus gave a friendly grin, not at all even looking fazed with the blood all over him. Error could respect that, he's been there before. "Ah! I am so very sorry you had to see this." The Papyrus chuckled, waving his hand as if they were talking about the weather. "But it seems because of this accident we are going to have a problem." And suddenly that friendly grin was replaced with a grim look and the Gaster started to pull out something from his suit coat.
Before any of them had time to react, Error had the gun the Gaster had been pulling out in his own hands and snapping it in half without a sweat or a blink. Seeing the dark skeleton breaking a gun in half, let alone getting said gun in such a fast manner they didn't even see him doing it, made them straighten in alarm.
Error just raised a brow before snorting, he had more important things to do then deal with this shit. This is not his problem. Tossing the two halves of the gun at the Gaster's feet, Error turned back and started going on his way. But before he went too far, Error looked at the two over his shoulder. "THoSe KILLs WeRE sloPPy." Error bluntly stated before going on, knowing they wouldn't try anything even with his back turned. He was a unknown who had just outsmarted and literally out gunned them by taking their gun and destroying it, they wouldn't try anything with him.
And if they were foolish enough to try, then they deserve the Judgement only he could give them.
Turning around the block, it really said a lot that this wasn't the only thing to happen to him. Because soon he was staring at a MobTale!Papyrus buying some flowers from a outdoor dingy little flower shop. At least this one was less bloody.
'What is my life.' Error just shook his head, wondering for the first time if he should have just stolen a nicer house in the more richer areas. Stealing a deed to a house couldn't be that hard right?
But before Error could turn around and go steal a deed to a mansion far away from where he was at, the MobTale!Papyrus turned around with a few sunflowers in his hand. The taller skeleton dressed in suspenders, a white dress shirt with his sleeves rolled up and a orange tie stumbled as he about ran into Error before straightening with a apologetic grin.
"Sorry about that stranger!" MobTale!Papyrus smiled brightly. "I didn' mean to run ya over."
"iTs FInE." Error gave a sharp nod and started back on his way, walking faster as he suddenly heard yelling, gunshots, and so much more not too far from him. Most likely in the alleyway that he saw the other two in. He did not want to deal with it at all, he just wanted to get home to the others and make sure they were okay.
That didn't stop a chuckle escaping his mouth though. He just saw a new kind of Papyrus, a MobTale one and Gaster. Now all he needed was a MobTale!Sans for one of the AU's in his Original Multiverse to be complete. It also told him a lot about this Multiverse as well.
They were proof that Hearts and Compassion were not a fluke. Counterparts are here, but in different ways. Compassion being Hearts son proved that, there may not be any brothers. It confused Error but brought relief as well. Not everything was like his Multiverse.
Pushing those thoughts out of his mind, Error strides forward a bit faster at seeing the sigh for a store just a block or so away from him. 'Finally, soon this all will be over!'
Quickly going into the store, Error grabbed what he needed. The only thing he really paused for was to read the labels to see if they matched what Hearts wrote. It's not like he knew what was what, or what they really did. The only thing he was for sure about was the band-aids because he put some on the Charas when they got hurt.
After paying for it - and glaring so hard at the poor cashier, who whimpered and looked like they actually peed themselves by the time Error handed them the money. In fact, they shivered so hard they dropped the change and cried when Error started tapping his fingers in annoyance. Needless to say the cashier fainted in relief when Error finally walked out, making the next person to come up scream in horror thinking they were dead. - Error thought he was home free, only to growl in annoyance when he about ran into another Monster on the way out of the store.
Looking to the Monster, Error only felt some relief when he didn't recognize the skeleton in front of him. Standing only a few inches shorter then Error, the skeleton had yellow eyes, a scar/crack running down his eye socket and above it, and a blue star on top of his skull that was surrounded by cracks and nicks, some of it also gone making a small hole in his skull. He wore a blue zip up shirt with a star on it, baggy pants, yellow-blue shoes, and a yellow short-sleeve jacket. All in all, no one Error has ever saw or killed off.....that he remembers anyway.
The other skeleton looked him over before smirking at him. "Sorry about that." It almost sounded sarcastic, but Error was in no mood for any more shit.
"i hAvE nO shITS lEFt TO gIVe." Error stated mater-of-factually, much to the other's shock, confusion and humor as he raised his brows and a funny smile grew on his face. "SO i DON't cARe RiGHt nOW." With that off his SOUL, Error didn't wait for a reaction and went on home.
Error could feel the other's gaze until he turned a corner.
-Error's Apartment-
'What if he's killed someone?!' Hearts was now starting to sweat, all the doubts he pushed aside for 'GET LAID' coming back full force. 'No, no. I don't care if he's brutally murdered someone, what I care for is if he gets caught!'
It's not like Hearts cares for anyone in the neighborhood other then Error's family, his son, and Granny G. Even if she does set off his alarms in his head sometimes.
It was only when the door unlocked and Error came walking in did Hearts finally release the breath he was holding in.
"Error~" Hearts nearly ran to Error, looking him over. "Did you get everything okay?"
"I SaW tWO MonStERS oVER ABoUT tEn deAD bOdIEs RIGHt In THE aLLeYwaY rIghT bY uS." Hearts smile froze and his face paled. Error just shut the door, re-locked it, and went on in as if talking about the weather. "ThEy TRiED tO ShOOt ME, sO i DesTRyED THeIR gUN. THEy lefT mE alONe aFTER thAT. YoUR noT WalkING tO woRk alONE ANy mORE, i'M WalKIng YOu FrOM noW oN." Error told the other, not asked, because this was not something he would back down on. "tHEn i BumPEd iNtO SomEoNE BuYInG flOWErs, noThING tOO bAd tHERE." Yet. You could never tell with the MobTale's. "THen THe cAshIER aT tHE stORE pEEd tHEMsElveS anD fAInTEd AfTER i pAiD foR EvERyTHiNG." Hearts could see that happening, but his mouth was dropped open and wasn't moving to say this fact. "i BUmPED inTO anoTHEr MOnstER, bUT i DiDn't cARe. Oh, ANd On tHE wAY bAcK soMEoNE tRiEd tO muG mE WiTh a KniFE." Error finished up his report on his mission. He thought he did a pretty decent job on it too.
"....A-And what happened with the mugger?" Hearts cleared his throat, smile still frozen to his face. While killings do happen, he's not all too happy about one happening right by his home. But with Error telling him that he was going to walk him to and from work from now on reassured Hearts. Error had the looks and feel about him, one that made Hearts pity anyone that tried to start something. Like this poor mugger that he was now asking about.
"i TOOk thEIR KNiFE." Error explained with a twisted smile growing on his face, eyes lighting up. "AnD tHEn i ShOWed thEM tHE pRopER WaY tO cAUSe THE moSt pAIn WITH iT. AfTER tHAT, i SHoWed THEm on THEiR wAY. Don'T WoRRy, i gAVE thE kniFE bAcK." Error shrugged at Hearts horrified face. The mugger was a teenager, Error wasn't going to kill them for that, not when they were in fact a Chara. When he saw those red eyes and blushing cheeks, Error knew who he was looking at. So in honor of the Charas he once knew, he showed this one some tricks then left them be.
"Anything else I should know?" Hearts blankly asked, wondering how this could get worse. At least no one die-
"i KiLLEd a hUMan, a OldER aDulT, aS hE wAs drAggIng a KId inTo a AllEywaY. THe KId WaS abOUT THrEE oR fOUR aNd WaS cRyiNG fOR hElp, So i gAVE iT. ThE moTHEr Was HappY foR it aT lEaST aS WElL as THE kiD." Error hummed, tapping his chin in thought. He's only been thanked for killing a few times, so that was a treat. The Mother even kicked the dead body once she saw it.
".....Not as bad as I thought it would be." After shaking off the worst thoughts imaginable, what Error went through was not the worst Hearts thought of. He was expecting mountains of dead bodies and the police right out the door demanding Error only for it to turn into a blood bath. "So you got everything?"
"yEaH." Error nodded, digging into the bag to pull out a box of band-aids. Hearts's eyes narrowed at the box before he chuckled at the picture on the box. "yOU DiD'Nt SAy whaT KInd oF bANd-aIDS, SO i goT THEsE."
"I'm sure the kids will love them." Hearts smirked, shaking his head with a chuckle. "Glitter band-aids in the shapes of hearts, SOULS, flowers, stars and strips. You even got the big box of them, so we should be set for awhile. If nothing else they will try to get one without being hurt. Having said that, don't just give them one unless they need it." Hearts added in just in case, he could see Error just giving them away if the kids asked for one just because they wanted one.
'A few bumps, but a success!' Hearts grinned widely as he followed Error deeper into the small apartment. The kids quickly latching onto the taller skeleton, who just dragged them as he continued to walk as to put up the items he just bought. 'Now onto the next part of 'GET LAID' and one of the hardest yet!' A fire not unlike determination burned in Hearts's SOUL. The next part involved him and the kids, so at the least he could keep a eye on this part of the plan.
To make Error want to go out, Null and Void will have to want it too. So Hearts has to pick the perfect, and not to mention safe, place to go out to. Not to mention something that will not cost too much....Even if he has a suspicion that Error could get them into a place like the zoo with no charge.
''GET LAID' is going to work!' Hearts took in a deep breath, chest puffing out slightly. 'Even with the few bumps!'
If only he knew that those few bumps are about to grow in size and number, becoming hills and mountains, then Hearts would have became a hermit with Error if he knew the trouble that came because of his plan.
-One Week Later-
"-AnD yOUR suRE thIS plACe iS sAFE?" Error asked for the tenth time, fiddling with his seat belt.
Right now, all five skeletons were sitting in Hearts dark purple car. Early that day, Hearts had to beg Error to come out with him and Compassion to the park. Error only agreed once Hearts told him the park was far away from their neighborhood, two hours away in fact, in a more richer neighborhood. In other words, much safer then any kind of park near their home. More safer then just playing in the front of their apartment complex to be honest.
It also helped that Null and Void wanted to go playing in a playground for the first time, begging their Daddy to go.
Still doesn't change the fact that Error is one paranoid individual and will most likely be on guard the whole time they are there. But Hearts didn't mind. Baby steps were a saying for a reason.
"Yes, for the tenth time, it will be safe." Hearts huffed over the childish laughter in the backseat. "Do you really think the city wants to be sued by those rich parents that use the park? Not to mention even if someone tries anything, I know you will make sure they won't try again."
"...TrUE." Error conceded at that point, knowing that he would make it a dusty blood bath if anyone tries anything with them.
"Besides, the kids need time outside." Hearts smiled once he saw the playground just up ahead. "It's not healthy staying in all day."
"iT iS IF tHErE aRE mURderERs rIgHT ouTsIDE yOUR dOOR." Error grumbled out loud, making Hearts nervously chuckle as he looked for a place to park. Hearts didn't want to think on how many people Error has beaten up just because he started walking Hearts to and from work. Usually Hearts just out ran them or used the area against them as he knew the place like the back of his hand. But with Error? No, that was not good enough to the glitchy skeleton, who preceded to beat anyone even looking at them funny. Even killing a few who pulled out weapons on him.
If nothing else, Hearts has learned that Error is great in a fight and most likely has a very violent past, one that screams blood and dust as he he fights to survive. Hearts can see the difference in the way people fights, Error's is to live like his life was on the line even it wasn't.
"Okay kids, we're here~" Hearts sang out as he parked, ignoring Error's groaning as the children cheered. "Now remember the rules and don't go outside of our view, alright?"
"Kay~" Null and Compassion chorused together while Void was tugging at his car seat.
With that out of the way, Hearts and Error got out of the car. They both went to the backseats, Error getting Void out of his car seat while Hearts helped the other two out of their seats. After putting the two down, Hearts reached down and picked up a baby bag that had all they things they might need in it. Also things they will never need in it, but Error is paranoid like that so Hearts left him be when he put some very sharp knitting needles and some off feeling blue string into the bag. How string can feel off, Hearts had no idea but decided not to ask about it.
With everything needed out, they headed to the park that was already filled to the brim with other people. Children, human and Monster alike running around while the parents relaxed or talk to one another. Both Hearts and Error ignored the disgusted or suspicious looks thrown their way for how they dress and look, as long as they don't try anything then there was no problem.
Finding a place to sit at a picnic table near a huge tree by a side entrance, Error put down Void, who was holding a Error doll tightly in his hands, and patted Null and Compassion on the head. "hAvE FUn, scREaM iF anYThINg hAPPEns ANd CoME RuNNing fOR ME. i'Ll DeAL WITH iT." Error promised them, making Hearts face palm as all three kids nodded in agreement.
"Well, go have fun kids~" Hearts cooed while the kids ran off, Void holding onto Null's hand as they went as to not fall onto his face.
".....ThIS iS GoINg To End HoRRiblY." Error eventually stated point blank, watching the kids go farther and farther away from them, it seems like they were heading to the sandbox. Error kept a eye on them, noticing adults and kids alike giving them a stink eye. "ThEsE riCh bAstAREds ArE gOIng tO staRT SomEThINg thEY caN't FiniSH WiTh uS AnD tHE kiDS."
"Most likely." Hearts agreed, digging the bag to pull out snacks he packed before hand. "But at least we can enjoy the peace for now until this fucks up somehow." Then he held up a container. "Granny G gave us some cookies-"
"gIVe THEm hErE."
-With Null, Void And Compassion-
"We can make a castle!" Compassion offered excitedly, kneeling in the sand with the other three. "Then we can play kings and queens, or even knights and dragons!"
"Hmmm..." Null hummed in thought while Void cooed and cuddled the Error doll in his hands, sitting right besides his older brother. "I wouldn't mind being a princess..." Suddenly Null gave a gasp as a idea hit him. "We can ask Daddy if he can play with us! He would make the best king, knight or dragon!"
"Yeah! And Dad would make a pretty queen!" Compassion agreed with the idea, eyes shinning at the picture of his Dad in a pretty ball gown and crown. "He can be the Queen of Hearts and yours can be the leader of another kingdom."
"Oh, how about the King of Glitches or even dolls or puppets!" Null's eyes lit up at all the possibilities while Compassion giggled in enjoyment as he started making a moat for the castle.
Meanwhile Void was babbling at the Error doll, talking about his day so far like the doll actually was Error, content with listening to the other two talking right by him.
Unknown to the three kids, a commotion not too far from them was brewing with some other kids.
-With Error and Hearts-
"-then the bitch had the gall to call me a whore!" Hearts complained, insulted, as he leaned onto the picnic table to talk to Error, who was on the other side. "Like I forced her husband to come and see me dance, seduced him for my own. It's not like he was even that handsome!"
"i WOuLD hAVe bRokEN hER WriST fOR slaPPinG mE." Error stated as he munched on another cookie. "tHEn lAUGHEd aT THE thOUght oF tAkiNg hEr pItifUl hUSbANd aS mY oWN oVEr hEr tEaRS. THEn of cOURse I WOuLD haVE thROWn THE dRuNK anD hIS SlUT oUT thE dOOR."
".....While that sounds like a very satisfying thing to do," Hearts started, obviously thinking on it very hard with a smile growing on his face. "I don't have your strength Error. Nor your bravery. I could loose my job if I did that."
"ThEN cALl mE tHE nExT tIme thAT hApPEns, I'Ll DeaL WiTH iT anD maKE sURE it WOn't hAPPen agAIn." Error told the other, a bit annoyed he wasn't called at all to help Hearts out - No one hurts what's Error's. Not anymore if Error has a say about it, and he is found of his leach. - when Error could literally have been there in seconds. Not porting, but by running even. Not that Hearts knew this.
"Ohh~! Error~!" Hearts cooed out in delight, his face lightening up at Error's words. "You do care about me~"
"oF coURse I DO." Error blinked at Hearts in confusion. "hAVE i DONe soMEthINg tO nOT shOW tHAT?" Error glanced down in thought, tapping his chin with a half eaten cookie in thought. "YoU aRE mY staLKER afTER aLL." And that means Hearts is Error's just as Null and Void are his kids, meaning they are Error's as well. Because Hearts is his, that in turn means Compassion is under Error's protection as well by default. It also helps that Error actually likes the two.
Just as Hearts opened his mouth - most likely to try and explain to Error that he's not really his stalker, or at least not by the definition of the word. Just a concerned friend, best friend if Hearts had any said so. - a commotion at the side entrance caught their attention.
Both turned to see through the gate near the entrance that a skeleton Monster was struggling against some humans in suits.
Seeing this made Error remember Null crying for him from the human in the suit in that other Multiverse, reminded him of Hearts struggling against that pig Monster. It reminded him of when he was struggling and no one helped. Not one of these rich people were doing anything to help. It seems money doesn't give morals.
For Hearts, it happened so fast. Shooting up, Hearts halted. Somehow Error had moved faster then a blink, because one moment he was sitting, the next he was ripping the humans off the Monster. Shrugging, Hearts kept a eye out while he pulled out another juice box and water bottle, might as well get ready for the stranger if they decide to follow Error like he did.
Shoving off the humans was simple, and honestly all it took was knocking one out before the others got scared and ran for it with their fallen one in their hold. Seeing this, Error turned to the skeleton Monster behind him and froze.
Inky.
Inky was staring back up at him.
'No! Don't be a fool like last time!' Taking in a shaky breath, Error forced himself to take in the other. The other skeleton had the same eyes as Inky, the same look, but he was taller, standing to Error's chest. He also wore a white dress shirt, black slacks, dress shoes and no paint or ink on him. It wasn't Inky, just like in that other Multiverse with the tall Inky, it wasn't really Inky. Just a counterpart. 'Don't be a fool and risk Null and Void like last time, be smart, you mistake of a glitch!'
With that in mind, Error turned his attention back to the counterpart. "bE mORE cARefUl." Error demanded before turning around, only to freeze when he felt something grab onto the back of his sweater. Slowly looking over his shoulder, he saw the Inky counterpart shyly holding onto his sweater with one hand, the other curled up into his chest, and staring up at him with watery eyes.
'Shit.' Twitching, Error glanced out for a out. Seeing none, as Hearts was digging from the bag for something, Error turned to look down at the other. "....wHAT?"
The Inky counterpart went to answer, but a suddenly shivered and went slack. Only Error's reflexes honed from years of being a Destroyer saved the other from face planting onto the harsh unforgiving ground.
Huffing, Error started leading the other to the picnic table to sit down. He was not about to leave the other on the ground no matter how much he looks like Inky, he's not as cold as his Original Multiverse may think. Well, not as cold in some areas at least.
Hearts looked up and nearly laughed at Error's annoyed face as he helped the new comer sit down. Once the new one was sitting, Error quickly went back to his seat on the other side and pulled the rest of the cookies to himself. Error needed some sweets to take his mind on this train wreak.
Giving the new comer a gentle smile, Hearts held up a juice box and a water bottle. "Hello there~" Once the other was looking up, Hearts went on. "Do you want a drink? Water or apple juice?"
"....W-Water, please." Was the soft answer. Hearts grinned and handed the water bottle over. "I'm Hearts." Hearts then pointed over to Error, who was shoving cookie after cookie into his mouth. "And that grump over there is Error."
"E-Error..." Hearts nearly started laughing hysterically at the awed whisper and pastel rainbow blush on the other's cheeks. It looks like someone has a slight hero worship/crush on oblivious Error. This should be fun if nothing else, that or a wreak waiting to happen. Either way Hearts had front row seats, that and if this Monster tries anything fast with Error then he's got another thing coming.
Error glanced up at his name, cookie sticking out of his mouth. The new comer cleared his throat before introducing himself. "H-How do you do? I am Ink Genesis."
"A wonderful name." Hearts complemented while Error just twitched and started eating the cookies faster. "Do you know why those men were chasing you for?" Hearts asked softly, knowing what it was like to be in Ink's place.
Ink frowned softly, hands gently wrapping around the water bottle as he looked down to his lap. "They were actually my body guards." Error snorted, thinking that they were horrible at their job, while Hearts paled, thinking they were about to get sued or worse. "My brother is very protective you see, my health is not the best." Ink frowned, looking up at the two. "But I sneaked out to get some alone time, the guards found me. I-I fought back, not wanting to go back just yet, so they tried to drag me back." Then a smile grew on his face, a light blush working it's way up as Ink glanced to Error. "Then you came, fighting them off for me....I must have looked like I was in trouble, so I thank you."
Hearts sighed in relief, it sounded like they were not in fact about to sent to jail or get fined a whole lot of money. Error just blinked, not seeing any issue with anything.
"Well, I'm glad everything worked itself out!" Hearts clapped his hands, sitting back down himself. Then leaning over, Hearts gave a sly smirk up at Error who was now narrowing his eyes down at Hearts in suspicion. "Saving another huh? A superhero in the making~"
"ShOULd I HAVe LEft YOU?" Error asked in answer, raising a brow. Hearts just stuck his tongue out in response before leaning back. "Forget it, it's lunch time. Should I get the kids or should you?"
A strange look passed on Ink's face, a glint entering his eyes as he shifted. "Excuses me," Both Hearts and Error blinked, looking to Ink as he went on to ask his question. "but are the two of you married?"
"HAHahAHA-!" Error laughed, finding it hilarious that he would ever marry Hearts. Hearts meanwhile pouted before a grin went up his face as well, also finding it funny.
"No, we're not married." Hearts chuckled, waving his hand as if dismissing the thought. Ink's face shifted before a smile worked it's way up his face. "We're just close friends taking our children to the park together."
"WhO WOUlD mARRy ME?" Error chuckled, scratching his face slightly. "WHo WOuLD maRRy HEaRTS?"
"You bitch!" Hearts grinned, pointing a finger to Error dramatically. "I'll have you know I am a great catch and people would die to have me!"
Before anything else could be said on the matter, Compassion was running up to them with a scared look on his face. "DAD! UNCLE ERROR!"
Both adults shot up while Ink got a worried look on his face. "What is it Compassion?" Hearts immediately asked, face grim but worried.
Compassion panted, but forced the answer out. "Some weird adult is causing trouble with Null and Void!"
"WHAT?!" Was all Error got out before he rushed off, hunting for his kids. Whoever was stupid enough to try anything was going to die here and now, no matter how many kids it would scar for life.
-With Null, Void And Compassion Minutes Before-
"How about this?" Null asked the older skeleton, pausing in his building. "Do you think it looks slanted?"
Compassion looked the little castle over, eyes searching it over. "No, I think it needs-"
It happened quickly. Suddenly a young boy ran up and destroyed their castle. Then the boy grabbed onto the Error doll, ripping it out of Void's hands and rushed off. The three skeletons didn't even pay attention to the other children running after the boy, all too focused on the now sobbing Void.
"N-Nooooo!" Void sobbed into his now empty hands. "D-Daddy!"
"Don't worry Void!" Compassion tried to comfort, gently hugging the sobbing babybones. "We'll get it back!"
"We're getting it back." Compassion glanced up to Null, face paling at the other's face. 'I think I see how Null is Error's son now.'
Compassion hurriedly picked up Void once Null started running to where they saw the boy run off too. 'Maybe this is how Dad feels when Error gets that look on his face.' Compassion gulped, remembering how his Dad would get worried once in a while about Uncle Error, how he may get into trouble. Not that he did the trouble, that he would get caught.
Soon, the three came onto the boy, who was slowly backing away from another group of three skeletons. The one in the middle was in a blue pin-stripe suit and fedora standing a head taller then Null. The one on the left was a good two heads taller then Compassion, dressed in black dress shirt, black pants, red boots and a blood red scarf. He also had sharp teeth and a mean scrawl and a crack on his skull. The one on the right was the same height as the one on the left, wearing a orange dress shirt, blue jeans, orange shoes and had a sucker in his mouth. He had orange eyes while the other had red eyes, the one in the middle had white eyes. The orange one had a lazy look on his face, the red one had death written all over his, and the middle one had a mocking look on his face. All mismatched, but it screamed dangerous.
But that in no way was stopping Null, who would do anything for his family. Especially for his baby brother.
"Now, Ray, why did ya have ta go and do that?" The one in the middle drawled on, a sarcastic smile on his face. "Why ya have ta go and steal those toys? Ya know this is my territory don' ya?" He slowly shook his head, looking like a disappointed parent. "I thought we were friends-"
A blur shot off around the three boys, making them blink. The next thing they were looking at was a little skeleton in a dress kicking Ray in the shins, making Ray drop like a bag of rocks.
Null scoffed, making sure to give this 'Ray' one more kick for good measures before grabbing the backpack off him and digging through all the different toys. Finally finding the Error doll, Null harshly threw the backpack onto the boy, making him whimper in pain. With a sniff, Null started gliding away like he had seen his Daddy do before. "Piece of trash!"
Compassion snorted, sitting Void down. Void immediately went to his brother, toddling over. Null stopped and grinned down at Void, handing over the doll with one hand and grabbing his brother's hand with his free one. "See? I got it back for you~"
"T'ank you~!" Void cooed right back, holding the doll tightly as if someone was going to take it again.
Movement caused Null to look up sharply. The three other boys were now walking up to the two. Compassion made sure they didn't notice him, just in case he needed to get a adults attention or do a surprise attack. Living in the slums taught Compassion a lot about staying out of sight but still seeing others.
"That was amazin' doll!" The one in the middle grinned, eyes bright. Soon he was standing in front of Null, the other two standing like guards behind him. Null tugged Void closer, getting ready to pick him up at a moments notice. The one in front of him noticed, a a approving gleam came to light in his eyes. "The name is Skulls Riot, what's yours doll?" The Skull glanced down to Void. "And little doll's?"
Null frowned, sniffing and looking them up and down before deciding there was no harm as long as it was only his first name. Granny G had told him to do this with strangers, so that way they can't look you up. "I'm Null." Null tugged Void even closer. "This is my baby brother Void."
"What pretty names, am I right boys?" Both boys standing behind him nodded. Skulls suddenly chuckled. "Oh, we're are my manners? This here is Fallen," Skulls gestured to the on in red first then to the one in orange. "and this here is Honey." Skulls then turned his attention fully to Null. "I like the way ya dealt with Ray there, he was askin' for a beatin'."
"He took our doll right from Void's hands." Null's eyes glowed for a moment before dulling back to their normal white. "He's luckily all I did was kick him." Here Null frowned, tugging Void away as he started to walk away. "Come on Void, lets go now."
Before Null could take anymore steps, Skulls was standing right in front of him again. "Now, there's no need ta go yet is there? My boys will handle the trash, so why don't I-"
"It's almost lunch time." Null interrupted with narrow eyes, before tilting his head up with a glare. "We should go back to our Daddy before he gets worried." It was warning, that their Daddy would be looking for them soon and would know if they were gone. And while Skulls didn't know it, Null knew that their Daddy would tear apart anyone for them. "Sorry, but we have to go now."
"Why don't I escort ya?" Skulls's face had a smirk on it, holding out a arm for Null. "Someone as pretty as ya shouldn't be alone-"
"RAY?!" Suddenly a adult human stormed up, screaming when she saw her son laying in pain on the ground with two other boys lifting him up. Seeing this, Ray suddenly pointed to Null and Void.
Before anyone could react to anything, the women harshly grabbed onto Void, yanking him away. Null reacted, gripping onto his brother making the lady stop and glare down at them all. None of them noticed one of the skeletons running off.
"What did you do to my son you two little hussies?!" The women in a very fancy red dress and white fur coat growled down at Null and Void. Skulls looked out and caught someone's eyes, making a gesture that no one really caught. "I swear, if you hurt them I am going to-"
"Going to what?"
The women jerked her head but still kept her grip on the little kids. A skeleton with black, inky tear marks on his face was walking up slowly to the group. He wore a leather jacket, black shirt, jeans and boots. He had a smirk on his face, daring the other to try anything.
"You don't know who your messing with do you?" The adult skeleton snorted, voice mocking. "Why don't you let the kid go before something you won't like happens?"
This seemed to anger the women further, face turning a bright red. Void trying to tug out of the her hold caught her attention. Her black eyes blazed and suddenly her free hand was coming down before anyone knew what has happening. "You little slut-!"
"DADDY!" Void cried out by pure instincts, orange pastel tears falling in fear.
A black blur, wind picking up, and suddenly the women was crying out in pain.
Everyone blinked in shock. A tall, dark, glitching stood above the women, hand tightly holding onto the hand that was going to slap down onto Void.
Error lowly growled, harshly pulling the women away from his kids, forcing her to let go of Void's arm. "jUSt WhERe YOu thINKIng TO DO tO mY SoNS?" Error growled, hold getting tighter and tighter, making the women sob and gasp in pain. "WElL yOU PiEcE oF tRASH?!"
"Wow...." Skulls gasped in awe at the new adults power, Fallen and Honey quickly letting go of Ray and running up to Skulls. The other skeleton adult shifted, watching the new comer with cautious yet interested eyes.
Seeing the women doing nothing but crying, Error scoffed in disgust and violently tossed her to the side. Not paying the cowering women any mind, Error quickly bent down to pick up his sons. "nUlL, VOID? ArE YOU OKaY?" Null and Void cuddled their Father, letting him check them over while they cooed at him and tried to tell them what had happened.
And if anything wasn't going great already, two other new comers came walking up. One making Error want to curse and start a killing rampage.
"What seems to be the problem?" A park cop asked, a middle age man with dark hair and glasses.
"I told you there was a commotion here." The Monster said smugly, a very familiar Monster to Error.
"I see that Jerry." The Park Officer answered back.
'Jerry.' Error twitched at the one Monster he never could regret killing off. In fact, a lot of other Monsters thanked Error for killing off Jerry. One time, the King thanked him for killing off Jerry before they fought. That has to be a sign that this is one Monster no one would miss. Especially as one time, a Sans asked him to kill off his AU's Jerry. The one Monster that may even be more hated then even Error himself.
"Nothing much Park Ranger." Error glanced to the other skeleton adult, eyes going wide at the black tear like marks on the other's face, looking a lot like his own blue tear marks. "Ray, the boy on the ground, was stealing some toys. Eventually he stole from the wrong kid, who decided to get back their toy by force as he wouldn't hand it over." Then the skeleton gestured to the women on the ground, who was still crying dramatically. This made Error roll his eyes, it's not like he held her wrist as tightly as he could. If that was the case, she wouldn't have a hand anymore. "The boy's Mother thought it would be a good idea to hurt the children in defense of her son," Then he was looking to Error, and his eyes widened just like Error's did when he got a good look at the darker one's face. "the father was not happy to see his son about to get slapped."
The Park Officer huffed, glancing all around while Jerry started whining, wanting more drama. Error lowly snorted before speaking up. Making the Officer look to him.
"i CaMe To SEE tHAT WoMEN abOUT to hIt mY YOUngESt. I tOOk AcTIOn." Error stated, daring the officer to do anything about it. "nOW, iT IS lUncH TIME. mY BOyS nEEd TO EaT." Error started walking away, much to the rest of the skeletons amusement.
"W-Wait! I still need-" The Officer gulped when Error sharply looked over to him with a glare. "N-Never mind! I'll ask the others!"
'That's what I thought.' Error snorted as he turned and walked back to where Hearts, Compassion and now Ink waited. He could still hear Jerry complaining as he walked away. Man, how he hated Jerry.
Luckily, the side entrance was not too far off from where Null and Void were. And soon Error was sitting down with his children rightly in his hold. Compassion was quick to scoot over to check them over as well as Hearts fished out the band-aids.
"-aNd ThEN FuCKinG JeRRY WaS WiTH THeM." Error groaned to the others as he explained what had happened after Ink had asked about it all. "i hATe JErRy, i WISH hE woULD juST dIE alREaDY."
Error had a new chance in this Multiverse, he didn't want a Jerry to ruin it for him. But like hell he was going to dirty his hands with a Jerry's dust once more unless he had no choice.
"I think others share your opinion." Hearts pointed out, making Error look to where the one in purple was pointing to. Error laughed, seeing the Officer walking away with the women and her child, the skeleton kids kicking at Jerry and the adult skeleton on where in sight.
"...I've heard some others complaining about a 'Jerry'" Ink said with his head tilted in thought, a thoughtful frown on his face. "A lot of people around here don't like him from what I can tell....But you really wish him dead?" Ink asked in pure curiosity and nothing more.
"YES." Error bluntly answered. "i ReAlLy WanT hIM dEAd."
"Now, enough of that!" Hearts butted in, slapping Error across the head. Error just looked up at Hearts, not even fazed from the slap, making Hearts pout. "Lets eat, then we can go home. I think everyone has had enough excitement today." Hearts admitted, but slightly happy that nothing too bad happened today. 'GET LAID' is still a go! With a smile, Hearts turned to look at Ink. "Do you want some too? I made extra sandwiches so you can have some if you want some."
Ink softly shook his head, starting to get up. "No thank you. I must be getting home. The guards must have told me Brother what has happened, he must be getting worried."
"....DO yOU WanT ME tO wALK yOU bACk." Say what you want about him, but Error is not SOULLESS. He may look like Inky, but this one has admitted to being sickly. He wasn't going to not ask and then find out on the news this skeleton died walking home from whatever is wrong with him. It really helped that this Ink was weak really, it means that Error could easily take him down and makes it easier to separate this Ink from Inky.
Ink flushed much to Hearts amusement before shaking his head. "There is no need. I live in the neighborhood. I've actually came to this park plenty time before, so I know my way back. "Ink got up and smiled, giving a little wave to the children who waved back. "It was nice meeting you all. I-I hope to see you again." Ink glanced to Error before leaving with one more wave.
"He totally was into you." Hearts smirked once he saw Ink was out of sight. Error frowned in confusion at the other's wording, seeing this, Hearts laughed. "I meant he had a crush on you, wanted you romantically."
Something in Error broke, maybe it was his shit taking meter because he seriously had none left to give now. "nO. NO hE dID nOT. lEtS nOT tALk ABouT THIS aGAIn." Error blankly stated, face going slack as he tried not to think about any type of Ink liking him.
Something must have shown on Error's face, because Hearts said nothing more about it and passed out the simple food he made for them all to eat for lunch. Null and Void not leaving Error's lap at all and Compassion clinging to Error's arm.
When they finished, threw away the trash, they all stood up and went to the front entrance as it was closer to the car. A huge group of people and Monsters were coming in and leaving as it was still lunch time.
Error caught sight of Jerry once more, who was bugging some single Mothers.
"I ReALLy WISh JerRY WOuLD juST DRop DEaD AlREaDY." Error muttered to himself, clenching his kids closer to his chest as he walked out of the park with Hearts and his son. "i hATE jERRy."
Error never noticed someone listening in on him and hearing every word he said.
-Five Days Later-
It was late at night when it happened. The day everything changed.
The Miscalculation family and Zeal family had spent the whole day with Granny G - who still kept dodging Error's questions. With the way she moved and walked, Error knew she had to be a killer of some sort. - before the kids started yawning, meaning it was time for bed. It was already late as well, and as Hearts was off work that night, they all decided to just stay the night at Error's. Something Hearts and Compassion had been doing more and more.
But Error froze in the hallway, making Hearts back up a bit to see what made Error still.
A beautiful red gift box, wrapped in red gift wrap and a black ribbon tied to it, was sitting innocently in front of Error's apartment door.
Quickly putting on his leather gloves, Error lightly moved the kids to stand behind him with Hearts. "StAY AwAY kiDS. HeaRTS, kEEp a Eye ouT." With that, Error slowly moved up to the box, His eyes glowed for a moment and it hit Hearts that Error was using magic of some kind. The glow died down and then Error gently lifted the box by the ribbon, it was only then that Hearts noticed a piece of paper under the bow.
Error unlocked the door, shuffling in with the box, Hearts and the children following just a foot behind him. Hearts shut the door, but didn't lock it just in case they needed to run. He knew that finding a box just outside one's door is usually not a good sign, not in this neighborhood.
"kIDs, gO iNto THE bEdROOm anD dON't COME ouT unTIl i Say SO, hEaRTS gET mE a toWEl tO Sit THis ON." Error ordered, as he waited by the table. None of the children complained of this order, feeling the tension in the air. Hearts quickly got a white towel and sat it down on the kitchen table.
Error softly sat down the box. Slowly removing his hands off it. He had no idea what was in the thing, only that there was some magic coming off it. That could mean a number of things, like that it was a bomb or could even be a attack of some kind. The problem with all this is that Error doesn't know who could have sent it. No one but Hearts and Granny G knows where he lives and they're his neighbors. Sure the Land Lords know, but there is a clause in his contract that makes certain that they tell no one. So he had no idea what to expect.
Slowly slipping the paper off from under the ribbon, Error sat it to the side. Reading that can wait until after seeing what was inside. For all Error knew there was a trigger in the letter set by some magic, it has happened before in some very violent AU's after all.
Slipping the ribbon off and sitting it to the side, Error gently opened the box. Once opened, Error let out a sigh in relief and Hearts let out a silent scream.
Dust. There was a pile of dust in the box.
"Oh! Oh god!" Hearts choked while Error glanced up to him in question. "Error! Do you even know what this means?!" Hearts asked in shock at the other's confusion.
Error shrugged in answer. "YEs, MOnsTER DUST, SoMEoNE kILLEd a MONStER anD sENT mE thE rEmAINs. BuT iT coULD haVE BEEN WOrsE." Error shrugged once more at Hearts horrified face. "i mEaN THE boX iS pAINtEd WiTH bLOOd, SO i GUeSS it WaS ExpECtED-"
"BLOOD?!" Hearts screamed out, taking a closer look at the box. Now he noticed the smell, the slight brown color to it. It smelled like metal, metallic in a way, iron. Hearts gulped down the vomit wanting to come up.
"yEs, bLoOD." Error nodded as he gently picked up the paper that was on it, finding it to be a folded note. "i NOtICEd iT rIGht AWay, BUt it StIll coULD havE bEEN a BoMB oR SomEthing WorSE. I dON't lIKE aSaumING tHReAts, lEaDS tO pAIN uSuaLLy." Error told Hearts as he opened the note.
Hearts quickly scurried to Error, waiting to hear what the note says. Blood, dust, and now what? In any case, Hearts feels like this is just getting worse and worse.
"It SAyS 'i hOPE YOU lIKE thE pResENT i GoT yOU. I hEaRd yOU SayINg HOWmuCH yoU waNT iT.' AnD THen tHErEs a StAMp oF a A 'C' On tHE boTToM-" Error said only to pause once Hearts gave a horrified scream, ripping the paper out of Error's hold.
Hearts started hyperventilate at seeing the stamp. It was of a cursive 'C' surrounded by marigold flowers. "E-Error! T-The C! The MOB!" Hearts choked out, tears starting to come out in pure fear. "T-This is from one of THE Mobs in the city-NO, the country!"
Error saw no problem with this really, if anyone was going to start something he will finish it. But it's not like he can say to Hearts 'Hey, I'm going to go hunt for this mob and then shoot them all with my Gaster Blaster if not then by strangling them with my magical strings. What? No, it's what you call fighting magic. Oh, yeah, by the way I'm also a God of Destruction from another Multiverse and have killed a lot of different versions of you and your son, who is usually your brother.'. Yeah, that's not going to work for Error.
With that in mind, Error lightly took the paper from Hearts and sat it back down onto the table. "ThEN whAT dO We DO THEn?" Error asked Hearts with a raised brow, completely calm. In this case, Error will let Hearts take the lead so no suspicion comes to him. But is this so called Mob tries anything more, Error will take the lead and then this Mob will be no more.
"W-We have to call the cops." Hearts finally gasped out, taking out his cell phone. "I-I'll call the Land Lords and tell them what's going on. They will have no choice but to let us call the cops." Hearts started laughing in shock as he started typing in the number needed. "T-The C Mob! The Marigold Mafia! O-Oh god....How did! Why-!?" Hearts shook his head as the phone rang, putting it to his skull.
Error blankly watched Hearts talk to the Land Lords, hearing said Land Lords gasp from where he stood. He knew the cops were going to come after everyone in the apartment was warned about them coming. This gave everyone time to hide what needs to be hid, get out of the apartment before they got there, or locked themselves into said apartment to hide away.
Now he had to deal with a different kind of Mafia, like MobTale it seems like. Just great.
But when the police came, Error knew it was just going to get worse because of who greeted him when he opened the door for the knock on the other side.
'Should have taken my chances with that taller Inky when I had the chance.' Error sighed mentally while Hearts panicked in the background.
'It's just dust.'
-End Chapter-
Here it is! Don't worry, I have like twelve other drafts that I am working on other then this one. That's why I haven't updated this story and Healing What Has Been Broken. I've had a lot of fun with this one let me tell you. I especially love doing Hearts as Error's best friend, they make a hilarious team up because of how different they are.
I have no paring thought up for Error in this one yet, so I don't mind options on it. But remember, you don't know everyone's role in this story yet. They may be kids, married, or even dead. Having said that, this is going to be on the dark side, so love affairs can happen along with divorces in this one unlike with the NAJ one. I won't tell you the roles yet, so any option now can be given. But later on and it turns out to be a kid or something I for sure won't be using it obviously.
Null and Void don't have a pairing - or kid crush - nor does Compassion or Hearts. No one is paired up yet in this story. I might go with the flow until it hits me unless I find one I like for the whole thing.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it, sorry for the wait.

Tale of Thrones (Long live the King) [#1]
Tale of Thrones is set in a world where war between humans and monsters is about to break up. Asgore and Toriel are King and queen of a realm in which both races coexist, although some tension can be felt in the air.
The story follows a different Gaster from the shady, quiet character we all know. He’s talkative, outgoing and nice to every single one of the people he meets. He has a talent to be loved, a perk when it comes to talking people into what you want. He’s happily married to a human lady named Lucy and has a son named Brandon, who is nineteen years old and serves the royal army, as every kid of his age.
He’s trusted, he’s loyal and would do anything to stop the war that threatens both races. He may find the way to do so.
(This is chapter one, I’ll write more if I feel like it. Hope you enjoy!)
                                                     ***
Asgore looked at him severely. Another council, another disappointment. He wouldn’t keep stability in his kingdom if things kept on being like that. Riots, thievery and murder were a common thing in the streets, despites the efforts of the queen to keep in touch with the people and their needs while her husband took care of the royal matters.
Even when Toriel got out of the castle and spoke to the people, offering company and understanding. No matter the race, people was never happy. Like if monsters weren’t as human as those “men”. Some were even more human.
—The council is over. You may go now if you wish.— Gaster stood up from his chair. His robes didn’t annoy him at all: he was used to dressing them and he wasn’t planning on getting rid of them either. He loved those clothes too much.
—Thanks for everything, G. Good job as always.—Gaster shrugged the compliment off and grabbed the folder he always held under his arm, giving him a profesional look, in contrast with his white scarred face.
—Oh, please, As. Don’t even mention it. It’s my job. Now, if you excuse me, I’d like to go home!—He smiled gladly at Asgore. Even when things seemed desperate, they had to stand tall and don’t let go off their hope. A smile could work wonders if you knew when to use it. And Gaster knew when to use it.
G loved his job. As the royal treasurer, he had lots and lots of contacts. Like a huge spider web that covered the whole realm, he had eyes and ears in every corner, and knew every little secret, every little gossip, every little joke that was told even in the smallest of places.
And he loved jokes. He loved knowing everything. Having everything under control, and knowing which area was most problematic, so he would focus investing money in that hospital, in that village, in that mansion, in that square.
He left the room in company of Alphys and Muffet. The royal council. A Trinity of monsters that had always been by the king’s side, and were worthy of his trust, even in times when even that was a hard thing to find.
—E-Er…I-I hope the king’s not too mad about all this, y’know…b-because of the whole “I am responsable for this”, a-and ssstuffff…—Alphys spoke in a trembling, shy voice, that was barely understandable for foreigners, but not for those who knew her well. It was a good thing that her only job was being locked in her lab, brewing all kinds of who-knows-what liquids, and supervising any kind of construction or work in progress that had to do with numbers.
—Aw, Alphy, don’t worry. He’s our King, isn’t he? He will stay determined! I’m sure of it!—Gaster tried to cheer her up. Although he knew it was going to be almost useless: the shy monster was not only nervous and talkative, but stubborn as a mule too.
—Yeah! And also, he’s got Tori by his side, right? Tee-hee!—Cheerful and optimistic, Muffet came to the rescue. Gaster smirked at her with complicity, and her responded by blinking two of his five eyes. Some people assured that she was able to make inventory of everything in the realm with all of them at once.
The three monsters walked together, chatting until they arrived to the main hall of the castle. There, they didn’t wave goodbye at each other. They knew where to find each other if needed. And they were gonna see each other more sooner than later.
G’s thoughts scratched the walls of his mind, trying to get out somehow. He walked down the street, straight as a stick, scanning with his eyes every single thing he saw. He liked to see the little details in everything.
That little spider on the Wall, happily building his trap next to a doorstep. That house was going to be well protected against mosquitos that summer, he though. The small river of water from a human’s house doorstep that was flowing with ease through the dirt, darkening its color.
Some kid was going to be in trouble for breaking that pipe.
It wasn’t until he had been walking for almost half an hour that he heard a voice calling his name. It was low, but hight pitched at the same time, like a two year old dog.
But Gaster knew exactly who did that voice belong to.
He turned around and saw his son walking to him in Company of two skeleton-like monsters, dressed in a beautiful, shiny armor. They were all sweaty: certainly summer was going to be cruel with soldiers this year.
—Dadster! Dadster!—His son happily chanted with his manly voice as he walked to him along with the two skeletons. Gaster laughed and  covered his face of laughter.
—Tell your cousins to take those off! They’re going to boil alive!—One of the two skeletons laughed and snapped his fingers, making both his and his brother’s armor dissapear, making Brandon the only one wearing armor.
—SANS! I WAS ABOUT TO LOOK COOL IN FRONT OF THE ROYALTY SO THEY WOULD LET ME IN THE ROYAL GUARD!
—Don’t worry, pal. I’m sure they’ll let you in. Someday. I feel it in my bones.—Said the shortests of the skeletons with a grin in his face.
Papyrus grunted.
—Come on, bro. Don’t be like that. I’m so humerus.
Papyrus started thigtening his mandibles, making his teeth let out an annoying noise.
—Don’t worry, G. We were just showing your kid some shortcuts, and took him to the Philosofer’s rock.
—Oh really? What’s Philosofer’s rock? I’ve never heard of it.—Answered Gaster confused.
—Oh, well. Yeah. You know. I’ve just baptized it. It’s a rock where I created the most meaningful of meaningful puns…—He got his hands of his pockets, like getting ready to run away from something.
—Sans, don’t even…
—TIBIA OR NOT TIBIA, THAT IS THE QUESTION!—Even after he could finish saying that phrase, Paps started running after him with an angry look on his face. Gaster and his son laughed as they saw  them get lost in the distance. After they were done laughing, G talked to his son.
—It’s getting late you little monster, wanna go have dinner?
—Don’t call me little monster! I’m not a kid anymore!—He answered, prideful.
—So is that a yes?—He asked with a smile.
—Sorry Dad. I’m afraid I can’t. Captain Undyne called us not long ago for a nightwatch.
Gaster wrinkled his nose, and then let him go. He was a man now, he thought, he had to take care of his duties. He still remembered when he was little, his Little cheeks, and his fighting games with that wooden stick in company of his cousins…
That nostalgia was washed off as son as he entered home. The wooden door opened with a noisy “SCREEEEEK”, and as soon as he layed a foot inside his house, someone hugged him from behind. Someone entered the house at the same time as him. And someone kissed his cheek as he closed the door behind his back.
—Good evening, honey.
Lucy was astonishingly pretty that day. Her wild red hair fell over her shoulders like a waterfall of fire and flames, framing an innocent, cheerful face. An uncommon contrast that gave life to her face in an indescriptible manner.
—Good evening, dear. May I cook today?
—Isn’t Bran coming home?—Suddently asked Lucy, slightly worried. Gaster calmed her with an unworried gesture of his hand.
—Not today. He’s a little man with lots of big duties.—Lucy wrinkled her nose like G had done moments ago. Then, she shrugged and headed to the kitchen.
—I said I was cooking toda - - -
—YOU SAID. I didn’t allow you to. — She said with crossed arms and a grin in her face, as she grabbed a cooking pot and a spoon.
—Alright, the I guess we’ll - - - —Lucy spanked her husband in the butt with the wooden spoon, making him smile and allowing himself to express surprise. After some time to regain composture, he and his wife cooked dinner. Even more: they had fun while doing so.
It was not uncommon for Gaster to have fun doing things. But doing them with his family was a different kind of fun. A fun that fueled his soul and his heart to a limit he couldn’t describe by using just words. It gave him strength, determination to stay by Asgore and Toriel’s side in thos hard times. They had happy lives: people in the streets didn’t. But that didn’t matter when him, her and Bran were smiling. Happy. Blooming flowers in a world about to tear itself apart.
He forced those thoughts out of his head before he started becoming pessimistic and enjoyed dinner, note ver letting go of the expression of happyness that had formed in his face. He had a happy life.
As they were doing the dishes, there was a knock on the door.
“Strange.” Thought Gaster. He knew his son always carried with him a full set of keys. He dryed his hands with a towel and walked up to the door. He opened it, expecting anything.
What he found at the other side was a monster. A familiar monster. One tall, White as snow, female goat was at the porch with a face of sadness.
—Tori? What’s wrong?—He then noticed her hands, stretched and crossed in a way that made him feel weird.
—Gaster…I tried to save him… I’m so sorry…
End is importat in all things.
—May I come in?—She asked with a trembling voice. Something was horribly wrong with the queen. It wasn’t uncommon for her to visit random houses, but it seemed like she had something to say.
And like the Jester said to the King…
 —It was an accident, G.
There is bad news that I bring.
—Your son is dead.—With a muffled voice, more a silence than a phrase, she let go the deadliest bullet a person possibly could shoot to a father’s heart.
—T̷hi̴s͠.͝.͠.t̵his ͟ḿưst be͘ ́a ̵m͝istake, ̶he͞ ̀ca̧n̡'̶t̶ ̀b̡e͜..̧.—Out of his throat came, in Company of his words, a white noise, comparable to a radio’s static.
—I’m so, so sorry, Gaster. I tried to save him. We all tried. But the injures were too…—Toriel decided to stop speaking as he saw Gaster’s face become shadier and shadier, like he was drowning.
He was drowning. Because a child who loses a parent is an orphan, and a wife who loses her husband is a widow.
But a father who loses his child is a disgrace.
Tears streamed down his face as his wife ran from the kitchen and tried to confort him. They took the conversation to the living room, where Toriel explained what had happened as softly as she could, trying to minimize graphic details, conforting his friend and servant, one of his most loyal companions.
Killed. A trident went through his heart. Asgore’s trident. Rookie’s armor looked a lot like the troublemaker’s and in the middle of a riot, Asgore had confused him with an enemy.
—H̗e̶̠̦̱͙.̭.̶.̯͍̥h̲̝͇ḛ'̪͓s͚͇̖ ̙ḏ̳̣̰̱̦̮ḙ̫̭̤͔̩a̪̖͉d̘ ͓̞͔̰͚L̳̙̪u͉̫̭͔̕cy̸̹͖̭̻͍̥͖.͙̼̘̠̦̱͙͞.̮̣̹.T̨͙͙̦̤̦͎o̩̠̪̪̣͖r̠̞i̡͇̪̭̞̠ę̠̬͖͓͖l͎̲̯̹̀,̙͔̣̤͉ͅ ̭̩w̖̰̗̠̲̯̥e̹̜ ͚͉͕̪̹c̨͓͖̺̜̙̙a̟ṇ̞̪̜͙̜̕ ̵̙̖̯̹f̬̖͍̰̘̮̯i͍̦͉̪̪̟̰͞x͈̹͠ ͕̺͚i̹̫̟͎̲t̳͈̘.̷̫̤͙̹̩̱̘.͖͇͕͍̹̰̗.̗̯̘̮̠͎r̢i̫̻̤̳̼̮͔g̼͍̭͚̩̱̣h̡͔̫͔͈ṯ̴̤͇͇̲͈?͏͚̰̣͍͎—Deep down he knew it couldn’t be fixed. But hope pulled him away from all logic thinking.
Dead. He would never feel his soft, warm cheeks against his skull, hear his laughs or play with his cousins hide and seek. And lose every time in purpose to make Papyrus laugh.
The war took him away. It was an accident.
Gaster and his wife cryed their son’s death for one whole moon cycle. In that time, friends came to visit and give condolences.
War didn’t take him away. The humans did. With their grabby hands, stealing armors and putting them on, they made the King confused and made him stab his kid. The whole war was a slaughter, and no one was doing anything to fix it. Even when they tried their best at their job, nobody could be always happy. Too many people, too many lives to spare.
Asgore had killed his child. That was the only truth. It may had been an accident, but that was it. Violence, and more violence. That was the solution of our beloved King. He thought he was his friend. His beloved friend. He could have called him a brother if someone had asked him to.
Incompetent, naive King. Your battles and your crusades took away his happyness. There had to be a way to stop this madness. A way to make everything end…
There was.
There was a way.
If he sat in the throne next to his wife, wouldn’t monsters and humans be more sympathetic ones with the others, seeing a monster and a human sitting in the throne? Wouldn’t that make things easier for everyone?
So he took his decision. He knew the rules of the game he was about to get into. A game played between four walls, with a throne in the middle. There’s no trust, there’s nobody that would help him. There’s nothing written, and the only winner is whoever is the last one standing.
                                                           ***
After a month, Gaster finally got up from his bed and opened the curtain. He kissed his wife in the cheek, softly, and left her sleeping. She looked like an angel, he thought. So sweet.
He walked up to the door, grabbed his robes and put them on. They didn’t annoy him at all: he was used to dressing them and he wasn’t planning on getting rid of them either. He loved those clothes too much.
He put his folder under his arm, opened the door and headed to the castle for another day of hard work.
He smiled.
Long live the King.

hey guys this is my first book called UnderVerse
Chapter 1
Creator, Evan Scott
Friend and blogger, Matthew Hall
The wind howled and snow mixed with sleet and hail thundered down, two figures marched slowly through the snow, shivering in the cold. They stopped just short of a huge metal disk implanted on the ground. “Sans what is that” the taller of the two asked. His voice sounded noble but innocent as if he was a lord who didn’t know it. “Dunno Paps” said the shorter of the two. He had a rather deeper voice. He sounded not very innocent at all. Like someone who suffered alot in there lifetime. The disk began to split down the middle opening to reveal a blue vortex.
“Papyrus get back now”said Sans in a scared and nervous voice. The vortex pulsed with heat. As energy swirled papyrus yelled at Sans for tricking him and charged forward expecting to see a fire to warm him. He tripped and plowed into Sans as they fell into the vortex. They were skeletons. Both of them all their lives but only now did sans yell at the top of his lungs. “ paps you bone head”. “ sometimes i wish you weren't such a numb skull”! He chose the word choice specifically because he new Paps would be furious as he hates puns so naturally Sans was an expert. Another vortex like exit loomed above them. Boooooooooooommmmffff! They shot out of the portal like a cork shot out of a bottle. They both ran not looking back not taking in their surroundings.
A cabin stood alone in the woods. It was a small sort of thing, cozy windows small interior. Straw thatched roof with cobble walls. The interior consisted of a small kitchen a couch and a huge book shelf full of books, not to mention a beautiful laptop. A skeleton was snoring on the couch. He wore a blue hoodie that had grey on the inside of hood and on the outside shoulder . He wore shorts white basketball shoes and a large gold necklace with a bone engraved on a big axe blade made completely out of gold. Upon hearing the obnoxious roar the portal sounded he jumped to his feet in fright. Quickly realising what he had just heard he growled below his voice.”Error”! Running he burst out of the cottage and ran down the path to the portal. No one was there, upon closer inspection he saw footprints in the snow. He charged after them eye sockets went blank except for his right eye. A black hole formed therein side his right eye socket. One who had no idea who he is would think him a god, but the fury was plain in his eyes. He burst into a clearing summoning hundreds of bones from nothing huge skeletal beasts heads came up from the ground. The heads blasted huge beams of death. An onlooker might have seen the devil himself as a cute dog compared to the sight of the stranger. “Error” screamed the stranger in a deep voice of deathly fury. But seeing the two skeletons huddled up one crying fearfully on the ground his rampage ceased.” oh uh……… sorry kids I uh just thought you where er someone else. Uh you look pretty cold uh maybe i’ll make it up to you…. For er scarin you an all okay”. “Come here it's okay my cottage is just this way uh sorry again about scaring you and all”. The trapsed through the snow back to the strangers cottage, the walk was very awkward. When they got to the cottage Sans finally had his nerve back.” um hey do you by chance have a name?” the stranger considered this. “Yeah I do, my name is ……. People call me bones but that's not my name feel free to use it tho.” he stopped in front of the tiny cottage. A Gaster Blaster as he called them appeared in front of them. It looked bones in the right eye. When bones flashed the black hole the blaster disappeared and what appeared then was a huge mansion ten floors the length and width of the white house huge stone pillars, large iron wood doors which were a dark brown color, the walls were made of timber it all seemed to flow perfectly. Sans and Papyrus gaped at it. “Perks of bein rich” said bones laughing. The two kids had never seen anything so gorgeous inviting friendly cozy perfect. When the got inside the only word for it was infinite.”so first things first” said bones the house is infinite i find new rooms daily. The staff of Gaster Blasters never talk, feel free to do whatever you want if you need anything stop one of the gasts and tell them to take you to me. There's always something to do, gasts will take you anywhere if you ask them so feel free to explore any locked doors cans only be opened by me. By the way you didn’t introduce yourselves but i’ll assume you're some of WD Gasters lab rats.” “well yes we are” replied Sans. tears came to Papyrus’s eyes.  “We were his children our mother kept us at an early age knowing our father never loved us.” tears welled in Sans’s eyes as paps sobbed quietly. Something he no doubt learned while in Gaster’s lab.”when she passed away we had to go live with Gaster. He experimented on us tortured us. He took away my left eye. As you probably know skeletons show emotion through their eye colors intensity. I lost a lot there. We escaped after a explosion knocked him unconscious. How did you know about Gaster”. Bones faltered.” your clothes torn rags. That no way to dress for the cold snow.” he sat down and said heavily,” I’m sorry about how you grew up, that's no way to live. It's late the gasts have probably set up your room by now”. “Maybe you guys need some sleep”.
The next morning sans and Papyrus got up to find the gasts had brought them a change of clothes(remarkably similar to bones’s clothes). 150G, an ID for themselves, and a few useful trinkets including 5 cinnabuns. Bones was nowhere to be found so Sans asked the gast to bring him to Papyrus. Surprisingly the gast brought him to the kitchen were paps was setting the table. But paps insisted they wait for bones to arrive before eating. When Bones did arrive he gasped. Obviously papyrus loved to cook because he had made a feast. Pancakes sausages chicken fried steak and eggs, toast and for some odd reason spaghetti. Though it might not be overly nutritious none of them found any reason to complain as they couldn’t stop eating. But Bones put them all to shame when he downed an entire plate of sausages in one gulp. They ate their fill and more, but still had leftovers.
”so” said bones after they were finished.”it's time we started your education you’ve seemed to have missed a good 5 years of it.” Sans groaned but papyrus cheered.”i’ve always wanted to go to school” said paps excitedly. So naturally Bones started to teach Paps to read and Sans to summon bones. While papyrus learned literature grammar mathematics and such Sans grew stronger daily he could now summon bones and fling them at opponents with decent accuracy. Bones stopped Sans during practice one day.”Sans your brother god bless him will not fight for anything. I’m trusting you with this information……..when you went through the portal you went between dimensions not space. That means that your on a alternate universe. My universe, this world is different than your as you will see there are many more of us, skeletons. I’ve built lots of universes but there are others. for instance the previously mentioned Error. He’s known as the destroyer of worlds’’.Sans soon replied ’’it must be a skele-ton of work to create a universe. Is there an anti Error”?” we don't talk about him” growled bones. And soon after they went inside to get lunch again papyrus served an excellent meal and was promoted to in charge of all food forever. While papyrus went into town to get some random trinkets with his money Sans went with bones out into the woods. Bones’s eye went blank as he summoned bones they flew to their places well rehearsed and the black hole in Bones’s right eye glowed black somehow. A portal opened.it swirled with black grey and blue light.”many portals have the two main colors of the place you're going and the color you're leaving behind”said Bones gritting his teeth.as they stepped through the portal Sans had trouble controlling his excitement. After all he was only 10 years of age.
They arrived on a desolate plain gravel and dust layered the ground.”this is a world Error destroyed. This is all that's left.” they went through many different other worlds worlds with minor variations. Then they entered a new realm they appeared on a hillside covered in bright yellow flowers.”Howdy I’m Flowy” a small flower greeted them in a small screechy voice. Suddenly vines wiped up everywhere. The flower screamed a bloody death as a huge stem emerged uprooted him and grew around him. A giant monstrous plant loomed before them. Sans felt a tug as he was thrown backward. Bones had tossed him backward by simply holding out his hand! His eyes went blank except for his right eye the black vortex swelled. Sans watched as thousands of bones came  together to form a massive army. Thousands of gaster blasters came out of nowhere hundreds of bones suspended midair as he uttered under his breath.”friend do you wanna have a bad time”. Then vines rushed Bones,he dodged with maddening ease, bones flew at high speeds the only description of the gasts was that it must have been thousands of pounds of force with one blast. The creature fell backward. Suddenly the plant smiled. Roots burst upward throwing Bones skyward. Slamming him into the ground the plant grinned. But at that moment a small box appeared over Bones. It read .5% power usage available. The creature looked confused at that moment a gast came forward it was huge about half the size of the monster itself. The noise that came next was huge. Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaambooooom. The monster was completely obliterated.
Except “hahahahaha that was so much fun. I’ve forgotten what it was like to lose. Hahahhahaha”. The plant burst from the ground.”let's play s-k-e-l-e-t-o-n”. Leaves wiped towards Bones at high speeds. Then sunlight blazed. Hundreds no thousands of seeds slammed into the ground where each one hit a plant minion grew in seconds. Soon the bone warriors were out numbered.the gasts could only eliminate so many at a time. Sans mustering his courage joined the fight. Bones more than he ever summoned appeared and flew everywhere this turned the tide another box appeared over Bones head. .75% of power available. Millions of bone warriors came together into a huge armored mech Bones jumped into. With on punch the plant monster dissolved. All that remained was the small flower which Sans stepped on as they hurriedly left that world. Sans assumed they would head home after that horrific fight. That Bones would apologise and explain then and there but that's not what happened.
The next place they arrived was a house, two stories and a big living room. Quickly Bones ushered Sans into a room concealed behind a picture frame. Soon a small skeleton wearing a blue scarf appeared it looked similar to Sans.”who's that” whispered Sans under his breath.” I believe that's blueberry”muttered Bones quietly” he's very docile that one. Soon another portal opened behind them and someone collided into them. He was another skeleton. Wielding a paintbrush like sword. He wore a traveler's cloak. Uttering a curse that sounded vaguely foreign he stumbled around.”damnt Ink” Bones whispered aggressively. How someone can whisper aggressively i don't know. “Well…..if you dam it Bones”! He whispered even more aggressively. As they were arguing Sans put himself next to the picture so he could get a better look. Blueberry was messing around with toys very cute and innocent. Then a taller skeleton came in, wearing an orange hoodie. He picked up the skeleton and brought him upstairs. Sans turned around and saw that Ink had left.
Sans turned on Bones”what was that about?” whispered sans.”yes i do believe i owe you an explanation”Bones sounded unsure” well when this galaxy first created, or when the first code came into existence. I was there i saw it happen me, Ink, Error,Cross, and Gaster yes your daddy was there…... Wait wait those circles cut out of his hand………….. Two kids, he didn’t no…..yes. Well,, that's one mystery solved”. Sans shifted uncomfortably. bones continued unaware of Sans’s discomfort.” then the written language of the multiverse put a ban on my power. It regulates everything. It's not like i can't disobey them the language but, i do obey. They fear what i’ll do with all my power you see. If i go above 5% the universe  starts overloading...i think that's the right word, above 25% well, boom. Goodbye world.”
Sans turned to the picture and asked”where are we.”uhhhh was all that Bones could reply.”so you see some er universes don't act like ours. Some have no violence whatsoever. But  that means nothing, see according to that logic technically i’m 9999999999999999999999999999 years of age, er that's not a nice thought.” Sans let out a shaky breath. Just then bones told sans it was all clear. The stepped out from behind the picture frame and walked awkwardly out of the house. They were on a deserted version of snowden. One of the many towns Sans an papyrus had overheard Gaster talking about.
It was midnight and Sans noticed Bones limping.”what up” he asked.”well” Bones replied” i was careless didn’t really fight that hard and i took a few more punches than i should’ve”.Sans stared at him.” So you’re injured he finished for him.”well no I just need a rest that's all. This was the closest place see.” Bones started to explain about how this universe was like a few others that had retained innocence. Something many had failed to do.
They spent the night at an Inn on the far end of the street. the next morning they awoe to find a attendant had done all their laundry cleaned up their mess and provided breakfast.her of them ate they were both desperate for a taste of paps cooking.they went into the woods where they were sure no one would be and opened the portal this time pink swirled with blue and…...black the same black glow.
                          Chapter 2
Sans stumbled backward.” hey kid”.Bones had a sudden moment of realisation.”ohh! Crap kid i i i oh jeez,”. Sans demanded an explanation though not very capably.”listen well a long time ago i was scattered. Each universe had one of me, but i didn’t like,no i hated the way others treated each other so we all found each other, and merged. Well cross didn’t like that. I should also explain cross well she’s…………..my sister sort of closest thing to it. I uh screwed up all those timelines. That's how i got the ban. So i built a world where i was un-killable i literally cannot die at home so,,,,,,,cross doesn't like timeline disorders. So i hide. Hide away in my universe”.
A portal opened near them. Red red error signs came flooding out forming another skeleton. Bones eye glowed bright black. Gasts erupted from the ground. bones shot out from everywhere, thousands of skeleton soldiers flooded in from the trees. And error……..Ran for his life.suddenly he flew backward. Wham! He slammed into a tree, over and over again. He was shot hit sliced smacked. And worst of all”GET DUNKED ON” shouted Bones, thousands of bones flew from the ground Booooooom!
Error lunged for Sans, grabbing him he portaled away. Bones turned round, opening a portal he jumped in. The pink turned to gold and silver. He tumbled out of the portal right in through a tower window. He had quite thoroughly interrupted a tea party between two skeletons and ink, Bones knew ink and keep. Now that Sans was gone he could speak freely. Of Course in normal universes there were only two skeletons. Versions of sans and papyrus. They were the only two left besides him. And since he no longer had any versions of him left he was officially erased from most timelines. “Ink your friend”. His words were soaked with sarcasm.”has decided to lets say borrow sans original for a while. Do you by chance happen to know where he might possibly be hiding. Did he mention this to you”? Ink stared at him, stunned.”well i” he stammered.”maybe…….under swap, or error tale, um,,,,,,ink tale, ultra tale, under felll. Bones roared.”he’ll be setting a trap not hiding in powerful au’s”. Keep sans and papyrus jumped. Just realising what was happening they started yelling at Bones.”how could you let this happen”.roared keep papyrus drawing his knightly sword he lept to his feet. At this treating move bones touched his bone axe head necklace. Suddenly a huge bone sword appeared in his hand.”stop this instant”said ink getting to his feet. Paint brush raised like a sword. He’ll be at…...human tale”. Silence Bones turned to leave”i’m coming” they all said at once.”the more the merrier”muttered Bones.”you go for Sans 3RR0r2 mine”. The portal was tan they stepped through. The world was bright. An elaborate maze stretched before them.the two keeps where adjusting to portaling around Sans was doing considerably better. They entered the maze the keeps went left with ink. Bones went right. Error appeared out of nowhere. Bwammmmmm error’s blaster shot straight for bones he took the hit and went flying out of the maze. He fell into a factory of some kind. The sign on the wall said RADIATION HANDLING.at that moment a huge piece of uranium fell and hit him square in the head. He stumbled backward.he felt an odd sensation as though, he was slipping out of reality. He was phased for a short period of time a sort of teleport, he teleported. Maybe radiation, luck, something but he teleported! He was back there in an instant smacking error across the hall and into a posh garden. Crack slam bang. The sword went right in between errors ribs.twisting it errors bone snapped.”friend you're gonna have a bad time” bones smiled. bones flew up out of the ground. One of them vent vertical under his feet like a skateboard. Gasts came out of nowhere bwaaaaammmm bwammmmm bwammmmmm. Error lunged right. bones shot out of the ground slamming into Error. He was propelled into the air. More gasts fired straight at Error. Somehow Bones reach out into the very fabric of existence he created in the language of the multiverse, out he pulled a stereo and a disk. Coming out of the stereo was a popular song Megalovania, but something seemed different. It was slowed down, A slow megalovania. A point 5 speed megalovania. Error shot hundreds of bones strait at Bones but these were red and errors appeared where the bones hit. Bones dodged every single one on his flying bone. He also wrote in a cup of black tea his favorite. Sipping his tea he summoned thousands of bone warriors. All equipped with miniature “ghast guns”.bwam bwam bwam.5% a box had appeared over the head of Bones. Bones eye went to that ever present black hole. The biggest ghast that sans (who had been there the whole time) had ever seen. it fired the noise was so strong the entire maze blew away in all directions. But Error was still standing.” you’ve grown soft”Error said his voice sounded like he said it twice but the voice overlapped.”hahahahahahahahaha”the world stopped.Bones grinned nothing like a dependable overload. He placed a bone on Errors head. When the universe catches up that’ll do some damage and better surprise him Bones mused. Suddenly the world seemed to work again only Bones had noticed the stop.again he pulled up the universe language and wrote in a tooth pick placing this in his mouth he continued the battle. Later ink would've helped Bones, but Error was his best and only friend he could depend on. Seeing him almost die he couldn’t stand it, bursting forward he drew countless monsters in the air then they came to life. Now Bones was furious”.fine defend him. then i’ll take Sans and leave. they left for the safety of home.
When they got home Sans turned to Bones.”Look i just got kidnaped you somehow knew how to get there, many things i don't know are now coming back to bite me. I want answers i don't know if i can trust you. Paps is the only thing i have left. And i don't know if we're safe. You seem to have a dark past something to hide”.Bones sighed he suggested they go to bed and tomorrow he would explain. The next morning Bones was nowhere to be found. gasts little help, all the hallways ended in locked doors. All except one, obviously accidentally left open.” hey kid”Bones’s voice wafted out of the room. He sat there tea in hand.” as i told you first there was Gaster, Ink, Error, and Cross. I was not yet alive. Then in a horrid accident Gaster and cross cloned themselves. The clones were scared they hid together away from the two originals. Gasters clone said that if they were one being they could escape. Run away and build their own universe of safety, they Merged. It something peculiar. No one really knows how they did it but they did. Then they finally escaped and found all other versions of themselves and Merged too. They didn’t absorb others souls they just Combined. One of them could right in the language of the universe it's called elixir or sometimes python. That's all there is to know”. They spent the rest of the day in snowdin. The local town there may only be two skeletons left in other au’s, but not this one. they each had 300G to spend. Rich as they were they didn’t buy much. Sans bought Paps a Royal Guard uniform costume and Sans got a new jacket and shorts plus some other nicknacyks. Paps was filled in on a highly censored version of what they were doing out. Sans was filled with curiosity about the aus timelines and such so he spent most of his time in the huge library. Bones and Paps spent a lot of time together they did sparing, walking, gardening cooking, building, training, and annoying Sans. not much happened in those few weeks, things seemed normal again. They slept on the 2 couches and a bed surrounding the tv. Papyrus insisted on a bed. Things went well and Bones seemed considerably happier.”well kids”Bones had entered the dining room for breakfast.”ink sent me a massage saying he’d like to see you kids for a while. Like a sleep over with him and blueberry. Uh as you know their basicly you so i trust them if you want to go”. Papyrus jumped at the opportunity. While Sans took some convincing they both decided to go. Bones dropped them off at inktale and went back home to see if he could Create any more of his house to surprise Sans and Papyrus with a new swimming pool. Or perhaps a basket ball court Sans was quite the player. When he arrived at his house still thinking of surprises for the two brothers he noticed his door ajar. That was odd the gasts should have closed it. He opened the door. The sight was horrible, dead gasts were tossed randomly in the entrance way. The stairs to the second floor showed signs of his poor gasts desperate defence of his house. Rage flooded through him. How dare they how dare they enter his sanctuary of peace. Kill these defenceless poor kind loving creatures and toss their body aside like nothing! He roared magic flooded through him a sound like a feral scream split the silence. Blue lines of magic snaked through the air each one fed into an empty husk of what used to be a beautiful living breathing creature. After all they’d done for him this was the least he could do. Boxes appeared everywhere as his magic increased. Then he hit the 25 barrier. Smashing through it he released the gift of life into all the gasts in his house the poor souls began to stir. One gast opened his eye, the look he gave Bones was a promise. A promise to right the wrongs committed here. Bones stared back”yes i will help you” he muttered. Then collapsed. He woke to the sound of gast fire. All his gasts were situated in his study firing down the hallway. Bones lept to his feet. Running he just barely made it into the hallway before having to block a BONE. cross stood at the end of the hallway staring at Bones.”you’ve done some real **** to the timeline dingus”. Cross said in a somewhat high voice. Bones stared straight at Cross anger flooded through him again. His war gasts came flooding out of the shadows.
Thousands of bones erupted from the ground his usage jumped immediately to 24% skeleton warrior flooded in from all sides.”you know i’ll win the multiverse shuts down if you get to powerful. And that bullcrap you told sans original about overloads you and i know only the lag is because of your power not the shutdown.”what if the multiverse can’t shut down”,asked Bones. Fear flashed through Crosses face but vanished immediately.”then hack into the elixir and do that CODER”. The insult was not lost on Bones. 25 50 75 the percent got higher then it droped.” to be full again!” Bones roared with happiness. It was as if nuclear fallout had occurred the sounds of battle raged out of control as the two titans clashed. Hundreds of bones zoomed back and forths gasts and gaster blasters fired. Bones portaled them both to a rock dead planet out in the middle of nowhere.” don’t want my house blown to bits do I”. asked Bones.” you forget i have KARMA as a weapon all Sans do, so do you really think you can beat me when you’ve done such bad things you’re entire universe in Karma”.” what if I’m FASTER THAN KARMA” Bones roared.Tea in hand he jumped on a flying bone. The bone disintegrated from one of the gaster blasters Bones’s gasts fired back. Vs Crosses gaster blasters. He landed on another gast one that of its own accord had come to save him. That one gast from before.”don’t forget your promise”. Bones smiled. Once again bone soldiers rose thousands of bones flew towards cross. Then his phone rang.”Bones help he aaaajjhhhhhhhhhhh” . Sans voice faded away Beep. Bones’s eye shifted to a new pattern. The black hole in his eye widened. And exploded outward! Magic pulsed throughout the room. Cross was flung back into a room. The door closed and locked.Bones portaled flying through dimension after dimension strait for Inktale. His roar split the silence.”☟□⬥ ♎❒♋♏ ⍓□◆ ❍□■⬧⧫♏❒📪 ♓🕯●● ♎♏⬧⧫□❒⍓ ⍓□◆❒ ⬥□❒●♎✏✏✏”. The roar that came next exploded from the silence with a definite edge that wasn’t Bones.” ✋︎ ♒︎♋︎❖︎♏︎ ♐︎□︎◆︎■︎♎︎ ⍓︎□︎◆︎.✏︎”. Bones looked shocked. This was too much way too much. Gaster here, especially since”Why” he mumbled”Why come now, and Get Sans,Sans original! DANG IT GASTER”! Gasts and blasters faced off once again. Bones roared thousands of bones erupted from the earth. Gaster shifted. bwam! Blasters ripped through the bone attack.”✋︎ 😐︎☠︎⚐︎🕈︎ ✡︎⚐︎🕆︎☼︎ 🕈︎☜︎✌︎😐︎☠︎☜︎💧︎💧︎ 👌︎⚐︎☠︎☜︎💧︎ ☝︎✋︎✞︎☜︎ 🕆︎🏱︎ ✌︎☹︎☼︎☜︎✌︎👎︎✡︎. ✡︎☜︎❄︎ ✡︎⚐︎🕆︎ ☞︎☜︎☜︎☹︎ ✡︎⚐︎🕆︎☼︎ 💧︎✋︎☠︎💧︎. ☜︎✌︎❄︎✋︎☠︎☝︎ ✡︎⚐︎🕆︎☼︎ 💧︎⚐︎🕆︎☹︎. ☝︎⚐︎⚐︎👎︎👌︎✡︎☜︎ 🕈︎☜︎✌︎😐︎☹︎✋︎☠︎☝︎ ✡︎⚐︎🕆︎ 👍︎✌︎☠︎ 👌︎☜︎ ☜︎✠︎🏱︎☹︎⚐︎✋︎❄︎☜︎👎︎ 💧︎⚐︎⚐︎⚐︎⚐︎ ☜︎✌︎💧︎✋︎☹︎✡︎ ✋︎❄︎ 💣︎✌︎😐︎☜︎💧︎ 💣︎☜︎ 💧︎✌︎👎︎ ✌︎ ☝︎⚐︎⚐︎👎︎ 🏱︎🕆︎🏱︎🏱︎☜︎❄︎ 💣︎✋︎☝︎☟︎❄︎ ☠︎⚐︎❄︎ 👌︎☜︎ ❄︎☟︎☜︎☼︎☜︎ ✋︎☞︎ ✋︎ ☠︎☜︎☜︎👎︎ ❄︎☟︎☜︎💣︎”. Bones eye went blank. Then,,,,,,, the black hole erupted outward. The world seemed to stop his power flooded outward.”PUPPET! PUPPET! I’LL DESTROY YOU I’LL END EVERY WHERE YOU EXIST. I WILL KILL EVERYONE YOU LOVE AND FORCE YOU TO WATCH IT HAPPEN OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!”!! The earth shuddered. Bwam bwam bwam, Black crept in from the edges of Sans vision.  The Black hole formed outward then enveloped a Gast the one that caught Bones when he fell the one that made a promise the one that is strong enough to survive the transformation. A huge beastly skeletal monster appeared. It was as big as Bones himself. It looked like a huge dog skeleton. Roaring it blasted a huge death beam straight at Gaster who was thrown back. He screamed as he dissolved all that remained was a melted pile of former Gaster. He mumbled and fell back into the void. Bones took Sans and papyrus and left that place.
               Final Chapter
“Now that he’s gone, you could… go back. Start over forget this and me.” Bones sat down.”What” papyrus said aghast.”we could never forget you, you helped us. Saved us, it would not be right to just leave.” Bones sighed” paps some things are set. You need to be in undertale well. You need to to, be there, for reasons. It's not my place to say.” they left the next day the last thing said to bones was from Sans.”I promise you no matter what i’ll be better than you, in every way, i won't throw someone out for any reason. My song will be faster than yours just to rub it in. I’ll never think of you after i leave.”
 ***
Years later…
Bones phone rang. He slammed his opponent into the ground. She was a girl wearing all pink and had pink hair. Pink energy snaked outward. Blue bones erupted upward. Don’t move don’t hurt.” hello “Bones answered.” wheezing echoed from the Phone.”still going strong? Well she got me. HahAhahahah. Really she hit me. Chara almost won Except she killed Asgore first.”
Back in undertale, Chara snuck by Sans to try and win by default.
Sans jumped forward taking the hit. He fell down and crawled to the corner.” ha I’ve won now comedian. I hit you it's all OVER.” she stabbed Asgore Sans watched horrified as she gutted him. He imploded into dust,”you’ve made a mistake. Killing him. I could do nothing while he was alive… but now there’s no one to hear you scream!” his health rocketed out of the box. “Guess what. YOU'RE NOT FASTER THAN KARMA!HAHAHAHAHA.” gaster blasters erupted from hidden niches in the wall. Bwam bwam bwam.
Back in Bones’s world. “Bye kid”. Bwam! I’ll be there Sans. A portal opened. An old friend needs me. The girl appeared again back from the dead.” then I’ll wait Depressed worthless Child.” when bones arrived chara was doing okay. Her health would always be replenished when it got low by Sans. His eye was blue tears streamed down his face.” you Killed him, paps is gone.”Sans yelled at Chara.”I enjoyed doing it” was all Chara answered.” he’s not Gone. just not here.” Bones emerged from the shadows.”want some tea?”

Healing What Has Been Broken - Chapter 8 - When You Call For Help, I Will Come
I can see Error being one hell of a unconscious over protective and dotting dad because of all the hell he has went through and from never being able to remember his own family from when he was Sans. Like he is over protective but doesn't realize that he is. The minute one yells for Daddy, he is there much to the shock of the others "Wasn't he in a different AU just a second ago?".
And by dotting I mean him stealing anything his kids ask for or want, only getting them the best either consciously or unconsciously. They want a new dress? They want a new pair of pants? Then for sure it will be made of high grade fabric or silk.
Original Multiverse Ink, or OM!Ink, would never believe it even if he ever saw it.
-Chapter Start-
The cold, dark alley they landed in, more like fell in, was silent and empty when a glitchy portal opened. The sound of static and glitches filled the cool air before a figure rolled out of it, landing on their feet with a thud.
Error dropped to his aching knees, breathing hard as his head started to swim with memories and thoughts. His SOUL pounding as he finally started breaking through the fog that captured him when the children were screaming for him.
Little hands softly gripped his face, making his eyes snap down. Two pair of worried eyes looked up at him. "Daddy...?" Null's soft voice forced itself into Error's skull. Error choked, all the pain that he has ignored until now coming up, and after that fight he knows he has worsened the cracks in his ribs more then once. "WhAT...?" Error could not believe what he was hearing. 'Why are you calling me your 'Daddy'!?'
"WHHAH~" Little hands patted his face, Void's face the picture of the definition of glee. Error took in a deep breath, pushing all his thoughts away for now. After he gets them somewhere safe then he can think and tell Null that no, he is not their father. Error looked around, briefly moving a bit to glance out of the dark alleyway. A few Monsters and humans walked around, all dressed like they were in the 1920's.
'Shit, Mobtale.' Error can still see the original Mob!Sans pointing his gun at him, and really remember how the bullets felt when they grazed his bones. And that was the normal Mobtale, not counting what the Fell and Gaster version did to him. Putting his gloves back on, Error looked down at the kids. There was no way their clothes would fit in. And there was no way Error can keep to the shadows completely here. Looking up at the sky showed that it was early morning, so that meant there was still time.
Null could only smile when his Daddy picked him and his little brother up and sit them in a dark part of the alleyway on top of his coat, then proceeded to wrap them up with the warm, fluffy scarf. "i'M GOInG tO geT yOU nEW CloTheS....DO yOU wAnT sOMEthINg sPEcIFiC?" His Daddy questioned, eyes not really looking at them. Null could feel the warmth in his SOUL, his Daddy really did love them. First by protecting them and fighting off the bad monster, and now by getting them new things! "I wanna pretty thing!" Null immediately answered, tugging at his dress to show what he wanted. "Please Daddy!"
'Well if they both wear something that the other Sans and Papyrus wont, then they wont immediately connect the two.' Error ignored the twitch of his SOUL at being called 'Daddy', he had more important things to worry about. Like getting them clothes, fit in, and pray to anything that Ink doesn't find them. "OKaY. BE quiET, i'm GOINg to SHow yOU somE MAGic." And with that, Error made a small portal. Null and Void gave a gasp while Error stuck the upper part of his body inside. 'Now, what look's the prettiest?....What is my life right now?'
Apparently he was looking in a high end store, but the good thing is that he had no intention of paying. He was in a AU called 'Mobtale' of all things, what was the point anyway when all the Sans's of this AU is a known killer/Mobstar? Soon the colors of blue and orange caught his eye. Without hesitation Error picked them up and made the portal move onto shoes and accessories. Error would forever deny that he was doing this because he wanted his kids to have the best....'Wait...My Kids-SHIT!'
He really needed to find a nice family for them fast, he was getting attached. God only knows what Ink will do to them if he ever finds out.
"iS tHIS pREeTY eNOUgh?" Error asked coming out of the portal with arms full of clothes and other items. Null's eyes turning into little sparkly hearts was all the answer Error needed.
Soon Null was giggling madly in his new dress. It was a silky light blue that was off the shoulders held up by straps, little sleeves on the sides. A sowed on black ribbon and flowers were on it, after that was ruffles mixed in with little fake flowers. The dress ended a few inches below the knees. Under the dress was silky blue shorts, not that you could see them, but Error figured he had to put something underneath. Error found a little flapper hat, a cloche hat, light blue and black flowers and a bow on the side on it. Silky socks and little dress shoes that had little heels and black bows on the sides completed the whole thing.
Void was just having the time of his life chewing on the ends of his new dress. It was mostly orange mixed with peach. Square like pattern on the bottom, cut off so you could see the peach ruffles on the inside. It had little ruffly sleeves and long silken bows on each shoulder. Then it had a little silk bow in between each square, the dress ended a few inches before it hit his feet. That way it would fit him for a while. Error also found Void a little cloche hat, a bright orange one with red and peach flowers blooming on one side. Underneath the dress was little silk orange shorts, Error figured he didn't need a dipper. Then he got little silk peach socks and little orange dress shoes for babies.
All in all Error picked out the most expensive things he could, the kids deserve the best after all they've been through. He pushed back the thought of having someone spoiling him, he would never get that so there was no use in thinking about it.
After making sure the tags have been ripped off of everything, Error put the old clothes into the bag and handed Null some jewelry he 'found' and 'bought' in the store before putting them on him and Void. Multi pearl bracelets and necklaces, one for each wrist and neck of the kids. The only difference is that Null could wear the necklace, Void couldn't as it wouldn't fit. Not realizing how expensive it really was, only that they were pretty, Error did not see anything wrong with the kids wearing them. Making sure everything was put on right, and steadfast ignoring Null's sparkly eyes filled with love directed up at him and how Void was shaking his arms excitedly making the pearls rattle together, Error deemed it safe enough to go. Putting on the scarf and trench coat, and seeing the sun about to come out, Error picked up Void and took Null's hand.
"WE aRe nOT UNdERgROUNd aNY mORE." Error began as he lead Null out of the alleyway, after making sure no one was out there to see them. "WE aRE aBOVE iN a DIFFeREnt PlaCE aND TImE sO StAY clOSe. I dID iT witH maGIC." Error tacked on when Null opened his mouth to ask.
'A different place and time?' Null frowned, not really understanding. But what he did understand was that they were not in the Underground. Looking up quickly for the first time, Null gave a gasp. "Clouds! Sun!" Null could not believe his sockets. The doctors always talked about these things, but he never thought he would see them! Without realizing it, Null let go of Error's hand and ran after the rising sun, his eyes never leaving the sky. "NuLl! COmE BAcK!" Error yelled out, his SOUL screaming out at him as he ran after. "YoU lITTlE BRaT!" Error nearly swore, this little brat could be fast when he wanted to be. 'Well, I can tack off Undertale as being his AU! This little-MOTHERFUCKER WHAT NOW!?'
Toriel was in a bit of bind. She had left the mob life, but it seems to always find her no matter what time it is or where she is. She had just been shopping in the very early morning to get a few things before the crowds when a little blue blur passed her by. She jerked to look just in time for the little one to knock into a taller man, who was dressed in a pin stripped suit with his dark hair slicked back. Toriel couldn't help but give a little gasp when she finally got a good look at the little Monster, a skeleton Monster dressed to the nines. 'Are those PEARLS!?' And that's not counting that she had never seen another skeleton besides the skeleton brothers.
Null looked up with wide sockets, meeting the dark eyes of what Null correctly assumed was a human. The Man looked him up and down before taking a step closer. Null could feel that this was not a good thing. "Why, hello there. Why don't you come with me for a bit~" Tears filled Null's sockets, the man reminded Null of Him, before a memory hit him. Daddy had fought off the bad Monster, he was very strong from all the magic that rocked the building and filled the air from what Null could remember. 'Daddy can beat anyone! SO-'
Toriel dropped her bags of food, just about to go and help the little one, when the little Monster turned his head to her, looking beyond her, and screamed out fearfully. "DADDY HELP ME!" The little Monster screamed out for help, blue tears falling and face the picture of distraught.
She didn't even have time to take another step when a black and orange blur flew by her, making her dress fly out and almost made her loose her hat.
-CRACK!-
"OH MY-!" Toriel held a hand to her mouth and chest. A dark colored Monster had came out of nowhere, slamming his fist into the man's face making said man almost go flying. And by almost, Toriel meant that the Monster grabbed the man's shirt before he could go flying from the punch. Kneeing the Man in the gut, making him spit out blood, then the Monster jerked forward, flinging the man into the street with a sickening crunch. The man laid there, unmoving as red seeped through his suit and under him.
Quickly turning back to the Monster, her SOUL gave out a lurch at the sight of a tall, black skeleton Monster bending down to check out the little one and have another in his arms. 'What a great Father. If only...' But with him wearing a dirty trench coat that was covered in blue stitching and his kids wearing expensive clothing did make quite the image and question.
"i TolD yOu TO sTAy cLSoE!" Error scowled as he checked over Null and bounced a squealing Void in his arms. "wHAt iF i DiDn'T mAKe iT IN tIME!?" Error would never admit that hearing Null scream for help made his SOUL shake and crack a little, that he was worried that no one would come and help him like what happened to him. The only good thing was that Void seemed to enjoy the run to where Null screamed, laughing and squealing in delight as colors flew by him. "NExT TImE lIStEN tO mE!"
Null gave a pitiful sniff, but a grin grew on his face. 'He's worried about me!' Daddy was worried about him, not mad he didn't listen. It was usually the other way around back in the lab. "I knew Daddy would come and save me...." Null rubbed his sockets, getting up and leaping into his Father's arms by his little brother, not seeing how Error froze at his words. "Sorry Daddy!"
'He knew I would come...? How can he!? Not even I-!' Error slowly stood, making sure his bag and that the kids were stable before turning around to get the shock of his life. His eyes met the figure of Troiel, in her 1920's getup, standing there surrounded by bags and a food by her feet. 'Shit...'
Seeing all the cracks and scratches on his skull made Toriel want to wince in sympathy. But seeing how clean and smooth the children were made her want to give a nod in approval. "Oh, I'm so glad everything is okay! I was worried when that terrible man came up to the child!" Watching how the taller Monster curled in around the little one's made her SOUL cry, such pain shadowed his sockets. 'It seems the children are not the ones that need help.' And wasn't that such a sad thing when the father is so broken but seems to give everything to the children and not himself. Those silk clothing had to have been a lot and it seems like the taller one had not spent a dime on himself.
What she didn't know is that he didn't spend a dime on anything, pearls and silk included.
Swiftly picking up the items and bags she could, Toriel took soft, unthreatening movements forward. Once she was in striking distance she lifted up a hand to shake. "Hello little ones, my name is Toriel."
Thinking she is talking only to the children, as Error was in no way little, Error did not raise to meet her hand. Null looked at her before burying his head in Error's chest and Void just chewed on the pearls around his wrist. "i Am ERroR." Error watched her warily before continuing. "tHIS iS nUll aND vOID." 'Maybe she would be the best for the kids? Toriel is usually the best bet for a nice Mother. It's not like Mobtale is known for it's resets, the human child is usually a good one, and everyone is on the top already....Better here then HorrorTale that's for sure.'
Unknowing of Error's thoughts, Toriel gave a soft smile before putting down her hand. The voice coming from the skeleton sounded glitchy and the names were odd, she remembers skeleton's being named after fronts, but she had to admit that they seemed to work for them. "What lovely names!" Shifting the bags in her hands, she couldn't help but question them. For some reason her SOUL was whispering at her to help them, Error especially. "May I ask where you are going? I have never seen you three before around these parts." Toriel watched them closely, keeping her smile on her face. "I can point you in the right place if need be."
Error couldn't help but give a little grimace, from both the pain and that she has already suspected something. 'Did I not give the kids the right clothing to fit in?' It never hit him that he was the one that looked off with the kids being dressed so finely. Error shifted slightly, getting a pang from his ribs. It seems like his makeshift bindings are coming undone. "i-i...." Error sighed, trying to think before looking up when a thought hit him. "I Am LOoKInG fOR a HOtEl tO sTaY iN. We JUsT gOT iNTO tOwn."
Of course they wouldn't pay after staying in said hotel, or even let anyone know they were there. Error would just make a portal to a room, stay in it and then leave before anyone knew any better. But Toriel didn't need to know that. And it should give Error enough time to talk Null and Toriel into them living with her.
Error ignored how his SOUL gave a painful lurch and shake at that picture with practiced ease.
"Nonsense!" Toriel was quick to throw that idea away. She could see that the darker one was telling a fib about the hotel. "Why don't you come with me? I was just about to make breakfast."
Before Error could ask her why she was inviting a strange Monster over, as he was not for sure why she was inviting them over so soon, Void gave out a little cry. "WHAA~" Looking down to see little orange tears and Null's bones shaking in hunger, Error thought back to what was in his bag. Applesauce did not seem like a lot and Null didn't even get to finish it..."...OkAY."
"Wonderful!" Toriel clapped her hands together in delight. She turned and nearly laughed when the taller one followed her like a shadow. "Just this way. Do you have any preferences?"
Error just glanced to a shy faced Null, both looking a bit confused as they had no idea what she was asking for. Eventually Error shrugged, lightly bouncing a now sniffling Void. "...FoOD?"
"Haha!" Toriel could feel something was off, but laughed it off for now. She just hoped she was wrong and that everything would be fine. "I'll make a lot of it I assure you."
It was a shame she forgot about the company she was going to get in the afternoon.
-With Ink and Blue-
"-and that's all that happened." Ink finished, looking at all the different faces. He could only get a few AU's here at this time and would have to go tell the rest after. "I'm going to go tell the rest of Sans's and Papyrus's to keep a look out as well, but I think this Monster means no harm."
"But didn't you say he dusted a few Monsters?" Honey, Underswap Papyrus, asked. "That doesn't seem harmless."
"Yeah, but that was in self-defense." Blue answered back. "From what we saw, from what we felt, they had taken his kids. Raise your hand if you wouldn't have done the same?"
"...You say his magic felt like it was in pain?" Skull, MobTale Sans, asked. "Like the guy was dyin' or somethin'?"
"Sadly, yes." Ink answered, a sad and worried look crossing over his face. "It was screaming, begging for help from anyone...But it also knew that no one would come. That tells me it has been like that for a long time if it knows for sure nothing will come and help the Monster."
"Is this Monster apart of the new AU?" Red, UnderFell Sans, inquired. "I mean, no one has been in it until today. If the Sans there called him 'Daddy' then maybe he took someone's place in this AU."
"But there was already a Sans, Papyrus, and Gaster there! And was saw the King and later the Queen when she came out after hearing what had happened." Ink gave a harsh sigh. "And Gaster had no clue who that Monster even was even as the Monster, who called himself Error, seemed to know about him."
"This is getting us nowhere." Blue cut off any other questions. "We'll never know unless we ask, and to do that we need to find the guy. For now keep a look out while we go inform the rest of the guys. If ya find anything, contact Ink or me."
"Fine with me," Skull sighed before jumping off his seat. "I have to meet the rest at Tori's in a few hours. But knowing Undyne, I'll have to be there early. She'll drag everyone there soon after getting impatient."
-With Error-
Watching a twitching Error, who was trying to hide a smile, bouncing both giggling children in his lap as he sat at the table in the living room made Toriel think back when her two children were here. Back when she was still happily married and blissfully happy. 'But that time was over.'
With both kids clinging to him, Error was having a tough time trying to make them let go without harshly dropping them. "i HAvE tO maKE a BOttLE fOR voId, GeT dOWn aND i wILl gET oUT thE TOy'S." Error tried to bribe Null into letting him go. Null perked up, but glanced to where Toriel was moving around in the kitchen. "But...."
Error gave a sigh, rubbing Null's back. "DO yOU REallY thINK i WOUld lET aNYonE Do anYTHIng To YOU?" Error just wanted to hurry up and feed the two. 'Who knew hunger made kids so clingy?' Error obviously thought to himself. 'Was I the same before I got used to it....But there was no one to cling to in my case...'
Null was quick to shake his head at the question. "Daddy will always save me!" Null pouted, not noticing Error's full body twitch or Toriel's soft laughter, before slowly getting down to his feet on the floor. "...Toy's?"
Quickly putting the bag on the ground, he opened it and got out a few toys. He gently laid Void down on the carpet a few feet away from the table and handed him the eyeless teddy bear. Soon Null sat by Void, who was chewing on the bear, with a bright action figure of some kind of superhero that Error did not know. "BE nICe." Was all Error told them before he went to the bag and got out a bottle and formula.
Giving another smile to the tall Monster that just walked into the kitchen, Toriel watched him put water into the bottle. But then she noticed how he winced while doing so, as if in pain. "You know...I have a first aid kit in the bathroom right by the living room." Error froze at the, soon she was looking into dark sockets. She knew she would have to tread carefully. "I noticed that you are in pain, and while I won't ask questions, I will ask you to go take care of yourself." She glanced out to the kids playing on the ground from above the kitchen bar. "At least so the children don't worry about you."
No matter how much he wanted to curse, knowing he had to re-wrap his ribs and could get actual medical tape for it was a nice thought. Giving a quick nod in he direction, Error finished the bottle and stridden to where Void and Null played. Kneeling down, Error let Void take the bottle, who was quick to put it in his mouth and start drinking it laying on Null to keep from falling as he did so. Null helped him keep the bottle up, dropping his toy as he did so.
"I aM GOInG to THe BAThrOOm." Error pointed to a door not too far away on the left side of the room. "CaLL fOR mE iF yOU nEEd ME." Only after seeing Null give a hesitant nod did Error get up and go in.
Taking off his scarf, coat, and shirt, Error gave a harsh grumble at seeing his makeshift bandages falling off his ribs, which looked worse now then ever. "DAmN yOU gAStER, i shOULd hAVe DusTED yOU....ANd InK ToO nOW thAT i THINk abOuT iT." Error flinched away in pain as he took off his blooded and slightly dust cloth 'bandage'. "YoU kNOw WHAt, DaMN ThE BAlanCE iN gENeRAl."
-In the Living Room-
Huffing in annoyance, Null lifted up Void to help him drink while keeping a eye on the goat Monster that was watching them from over the table, her sitting food down on it that was ready to eat. "I have made a lot of different things for you and your Father to try." Toriel tried to make the tension leave the little one, who looked ready to scream for their father at any little movement from her. "May I ask where your Mother is?" Toriel inquired gently.
'Mother...?' That was a word Null hasn't heard before. "No Mother. Only Daddy." Null quickly answered, watching her closely.
Toriel closed her eyes briefly in pain, that opened other questions that she may not like the answers to if she ever got them. "Can you tell me about your Daddy?" At seeing the suspicious look directed her way Toriel hurried on. "He seems to love you very much, I just wanted to know what kind of Father he was!"
'There is more then one kind?' Null had no idea. Blinking, thinking of a answer, Null thought of Him. Thought of how cold he was and how much pain he brought. 'I wouldn't like him to be my Daddy.' "Daddy is the best! He is warm and safe..." Null tilted his head to look up at the goat. "He saved us from the bad Monster. Isn't that right Void?" Null smiled down at Void.
"WHUU~" Void gurgled around the almost empty bottle, both not noticing the horror creeping up Toriel's face.
"What do you mean by 'Bad Monster' chil-"
-BANG!-
"HEY TORIEL!" A fish Monster in a suit burst in, a group of other Monsters standing behind her. "We decided to come for breakfast instead of lunch!"
Before Toriel could say anything, Undyne caught sight of the two babybones not too far away. "Huh! Papyrus check this out!" Null's sockets widened as Void dropped his bottle and started to cry out. She reached a hand out. "Do you know that there was-"
Just as the rest of the Monsters walked in, Sans's and Papyrus's sockets also going wide at the sight of the babybones, Null gave a terrified scream along with Void.
"DADDY HELP!"
"AAAAAAAAAAHHH-!"
-BANG!-
-CRACK!-
Everyone jumped when the bathroom door was literally kicked open, door slamming into the wall and leaving a dent.
Before Undyne had anytime to back away, a multi-colored blur rush toward her. A black, red, and yellow scared hand harshly gripped her wrist. Her head jerked up in time to see a scared and scratched skull with multi-colored eyes glaring down at her before she was thrown away.
"Oh my god..." Toriel softly cried out, hand going to her mouth to quieten her cries. "You poor child!"
'Ink, Blue....' Sans gulped at the sight before him. A tall skeleton Monster, Skull came up to where his stomach would be, was standing firmly in front of the baby bones in only his baggy pants and shoes. But what took his breath away was how mangled and broken he was.
Scares littered his whole body, dents, scratches, chips, and even a few small holes were all over him. His ribs were cracked, and some looked ready to fall off with the slightest touch. His spine was scratched to hell and back, so much so that Skull was shocked he could even move. His skull looked ready to cave in if any pressure was added to it. Without even looking, Skull knew that the bottom half of his body must be in the same shape. All in all this Monster seemed to be in worse shape then Murder and Red. 'I think I believe you when you said that the Monster was in pain and dyin' now that I found the guy.'
Looking at the Monsters and human in front of him; a crying Papyrus, a shocked Sans, a very shocked Undyne that was still laying on the floor, a horrified Alphys, a frozen Frisk, and a wide eyed Asgore, Error only had one thing to say as he listened to the soft crying behind him.
"ShIt."
-End Chapter-
Error is one confused mess while everyone misunderstands his choices. He goes to blend in only to make it look like he was a poor Monster spending all his money on his kids. He would not make a good spy at all. He also has no idea on what is appropriate for kids or prices. He only knew the clothes were expensive because he knows how to sew, knit, and make puppets, as fabrics are needed for that. And take in account that he really only steals if he really has to. He only bought stuff last chapter so that the kids could be out in the open and find a family for them. Honestly I added the pearls because of the next chapter, when everyone gets to talking.
"You bought your kids pearls!?" "YeAH, SUrE. lEts GO wITh tHAt." "You STOLE them!?" "StOLe IS a HARSh wORd."
Error looks very bad and is very hurt, from all the beatings he has had and where he has hurt himself, and there is also the fact he never eats. Monster food has healing properties, so because Error doesn't eat he has never healed any of his old wounds and let them fester making it worse. Right now he is only alive because of him being part of the balance, his SOUL's stubbornness and determination, and the fact that he is just made of tougher stuff then normal Monsters as he is a glitch. He can take more of a beating before he starts to become dust. He is just so used to pain that he has a very high tolerance to it by now.
He is also in denial about how he feels about the kids, as he feels he would not make a good father. And some of the hurt will be coming in the next chapter as some of the truth comes out.
In the next chapter, we get Error meeting the Ink of this universe. Fun times for all around when he shows up. And after that Error is going to have one heck of a break down when they all figure everything out, as he was looking for death when he fell into the void, not becoming a Father and landing a new Multiverse.
