Vox prepared for this day for months. He was prepared for anything that would happen. Val had no clue what Vox had prepared and that made him happy because this means he would be able to surprise the person he loved. He was finishing getting ready. This evening would go exactly like he planned. There was still a form of doubt, but he knew Valentino right?

Val didn’t catch what Vox was preparing for this evening, but he put on his most beautiful dress because he always wanted to look like the most beautiful person in the room, and most of the time he was. Even tho it was just an evening between the two of them. It wasn’t a reason for him to not dress his best.

The evening started really well. Valentino and Vox had such a wonderful night just between the two of them. They were eating stuff that they ordered because neither of them could cook, and they were dancing. For Vox, everything was going according to plan. When they were getting the desert. He got down on one knee. “Valentino, will you marry me?” He saw a flash of doubt in Val’s face when he asked this question.

Valentino didn’t expect him to pop out this question. Was this really what he was asking him? Did he really want to marry him? This was such a surreal situation for him. They were together, but they always were kinda on and off, and for the last year things never went better than they ever did. He really didn’t want to ruin anything with Vox and how their relationship was going.

Also, Val never had in his mind that marriage could ever be an option, especially with his past when he was human and now that he’s the overlord of lust and depravity. Marriage was always off the table, not even the start of a thought in his mind. “Vox…” His voice was really off for anyone who actually knew him. “Val, I love you. Are you alright?” Answering this question would definitely tell that something was wrong. “I love you too, Vox, but I’m not sure if I can do this.”

This was the first time that Val said to Vox that he loved him. Vox already said it a few times, and he didn’t want to press the taller man into it. Vox knew the anxiety level that this man could have. He saw it more than a few time what happened when he lost his temper or let his anxiety loose. “Talk to me… please.” He felt Val’s one hand on his cheek. “Voxy… I’m not someone you want to marry.” Vox suddenly realized what was going inside the head of his lover, and he really didn’t like that one bite. “Valentino, you’re worthy of being loved.” For Vox, it was the first time that he saw Valentino being this vulnerable with him.

Vox took Val’s hand and led him to the couch. “I don’t think I ever thanked you for saving me against Alastor.” Vox kissed Valentino, maybe the softest way he ever did. When Val interrupted the kiss, he wasn’t mad at all when he heard what he wanted to say. “Yes, I want to marry you Vox”
