LPSD: Let's Try To Finish Demos! - Part 2
Sunday, May 18, 2025
Welcome to Part 2, of the Let's Try To Finish Demos! | FD mini-series, where I try to finish as many of the demos played during Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD videos as I can (so I can finally uninstall them and make some space) in 4 hours-ish!
For those who are new, I aim to provide commentary and feedback on game demos for educational purposes! In addition, with how saturated Steam is, let's get these indie games some attention, shall we (and the occasional AAA game I think isn't getting enough attention)?
RULES! I try to finish as many demos as I can in 4 hours-ish!
Today, the demos I tried to finish for your enjoyment were:
Tower of Babel: Survivors of Chaos from Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 18 Battle hordes of monsters, acquire new skills, and upgrade your abilities. Customize your build with hundreds of item combinations and reach the top to fulfill your deepest desires. Conquer the tower in this thrilling roguelite hack and slash survivors game!
BLADECHIMERA from Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 29 Explore a dark and sinister Osaka as the Demon Hunter Shin. Battle demons, regain lost skills, and uncover the truth of your forgotten past in this exciting occult-inspired cyberpunk metroidvania.
Welcome to Elderfield from Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 21 Welcome to Elderfield is a spooky farming RPG. You can farm, fish, mine, cook, craft, befriend townsfolk, beseech the old gods, investigate mysteries, watch unsettling news programs, get lost in the dead mall, die in your sleep and more. There's lots to do in Elderfield!
The links above are to the games' Steam pages. Also, Welcome to Elderfield's demo is available on itch.io!
Why was it an "attempt" to play? Because I don't think "finishing" Tower of Babel and Welcome to Elderfield is actually possible.
I didn't write mini-reviews for these because I already did! The links to them are above!
Overall, I want all of them, and they are on my wishlist.
And that's it for Part 2! Thank you for reading! If this series of videos is something you're interested in, they're available on YouTube, The Titans' Discord, Steam, Rumble, Odysee, Ko-fi, and on multiple blogging platforms! Don't forget to hit the Subscribe and/or Follow buttons to know when there's more!

Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 29
Wednesday, May 14, 2025
Welcome to Part 29 of the Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD series! For those who are new, I aim to provide commentary and feedback on game demos for educational purposes! In addition, with how saturated Steam is, let's get these indie games some attention, shall we (and the occasional AAA game I think isn't getting enough attention)? For this episode, I used some of the demos I had grabbed from the Myths & Legends (I think) & Women's Day Sale Steam Events!  RULES! Typically, there are 4 demos. Each demo gets 30 minutes, not including the adjustment of settings and character creation. I might up it to 5 and/or play a great game for longer if there are technical issues. Or a demo finishes before the timer goes off. And NO AI's spit, aka. plagiarism laundering.
Today, I played 4 demos for your enjoyment:
Altered Alma by 2Awesome Studio - Available: Coming soon Altered Alma combines the beloved classic Metroidvania formula with RPG elements, dating sim features, a slick pixel-art presentation, and a gripping story. Whether you want to beat up bad guys, find love, or just explore the beautiful cyberpunk cityscape, Neo Barcelona awaits!
Grimshire by Acute Owl Studio - Available: Q2 2025 A deadly plague threatens the village of Grimshire. Manage your farmland, forage the bounty of the wilds, prevent your harvest from rotting away and keep the root cellar full. Can you help bring the community together and survive?
Old World by Mohawk Games - Available Old World is a revolutionary new historical strategy game where you lead your dynasty over generations of rule against rival kings and queens. Wage massive wars, manage your court, and build a dynasty — or watch your empire crumble to dust. What legacy will you leave behind?
Shape of Dreams by Lizard Smoothie - Available: 2025 Shape of Dreams is a unique game that blends action roguelite with MOBA-style gameplay. Venture into the dream world, edit your hero's Memories, and create your own champion. Face all challenges solo, or play with friends in up to 4-player co-op.
The links above are to the games' Steam pages.
Overall, I want all but The Axis Unseen, and they are on my wishlist. And they're all Available, if you're interested!
For anyone interested in a mini-review, it will be available on the Opinions & Truth | O&T blog later, here!
If you don't see Part 29 when you click the link, it means I'm still working on it. Feel free to look at other videos while you wait!
And that's it for the mini-review of Part 29! Thank you for reading! LPSD: Let's Try To Finish Demos! - Part 1
Sunday, April 27, 2025
Welcome to Part 1, the Pilot, of the Let's Try To Finish Demos! | FD mini-series, where I try to finish as many of the demos played during Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD videos as I can (so I can finally uninstall them and make some space) in 4 hours-ish!

Today, the demos I tried to finish for your enjoyment were:
Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars from Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 22 This prologue episode reveals what happened on the day before the events of Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars, following the Ivory Order as they search for a stolen royal treasure.
Magical Bakery from Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 13 DEMO VERSION: Experience a life full of magic, challenges, and the joy of creating sweets that will leave a spellbinding impression on your customers. Become the ultimate magical baker and prove yourself worthy to inherit the Magical Bakery!
Harmony's Odyssey from Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 20 Harmony’s Odyssey is a 3D fantasy adventure puzzle game set on mythical dioramas full of riddles, perky creatures and magic. Embark on a fantastic journey through remote fabled lands tangled by a rowdy cat and bring peace to its inhabitants.

The links above are to the games' Steam pages. Also, Harmony's Odyssey's demo is available on itch.io!

Welcome to Part 28 of the Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD series! For those who are new, I aim to provide commentary and feedback on game demos for educational purposes! Why was it an "attempt" to play? Because Old World made me rage quit. And, after looking back at the footage, what I needed was, almost, right in front of my face. I even moused over it at one point, and it didn't register. 1-800-MYY-BAAD.
To a point.

Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 27
Wednesday, April 9, 2025
Welcome to Part 27 of the Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD series! For those who are new, I aim to provide commentary and feedback on game demos for educational purposes! In addition, with how saturated Steam is, let's get these indie games some attention, shall we (and the occasional AAA game I think isn't getting enough attention)? Today, I, attempted, to play 4 demos for your enjoyment:
ATRI -My Dear Moments- by Frontwing & 枕 - Available "As the world sank, I found you." In the near future, a sudden and unexplained sea rise has left much of human civilization underwater. In a little town slowly being enveloped by the ocean, an unforgettable summer is about to begin for a boy and a mysterious robot girl...
Kimochii Classroom by Radish ASMR - Planned Release Date: Q2 2025 Welcome to Kimochii Classroom! An atmospheric, slice-of-life visual novel with stunning visuals, a beautiful soundtrack, and an immersive story. Who will you meet first?
Tea for Sana by Pillow Soup - Coming soon Tea for Sana is a story-driven exploration game set in the mountains of a Slavic-inspired fantasy world. Discover recipes, forage for ingredients, and cook traditional dishes to restore the balance between the mountain spirits and the villagers below.
VORON by Merk Games - Planned Release Date: To be announced 🕊️🌳🗻You are a raven with an important task: guiding lost souls to their new home. In this story-driven adventure game, you will learn how to fly, explore a Norse-inspired, tiny open world, and don't forget to croak from time to time — that's what a raven does, right?
The links above are to the games' Steam pages. Kimochii Classroom is also on itch.io!
Why was it an "attempt" to play? Because VORON made me rage quit.
Overall, I want all, but VORON, and they are on my wishlist.
For anyone interested in a mini-review, it will be available on the Opinions & Truth | O&T blog later today, or this week, here!

Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 26
Tuesday, April 1, 2025
Welcome to Part 26 of the Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD series! For those who are new, I aim to provide commentary and feedback on game demos for educational purposes! In addition, with how saturated Steam is, let's get these indie games some attention, shall we (and the occasional AAA game I think isn't getting enough attention)? For this episode, I used some of the demos I had grabbed from the Myths & Legends & Women's Day Sale Steam Events!
Today, I played 5 demos for your enjoyment:
Atlas Wept by Kbojisoft - Available A Humanist retro-style RPG game about sincerity and empathy, featuring friendly robot dogs and evil smiley faces.
LEILA by Ubik Studios - Available: Apr 7, 2025 A story-driven experience with puzzles about a middle-aged woman trying to make peace with herself. Join her in this dive to her mind and travel through memories and traumas. The unique 2d art style, meticulous sound design and hand-drawn animations bring her to life on this point&click...
Winter Burrow by Pine Creek Games - Planned Release Date: 2025 Winter Burrow is a cozy woodland survival game about a mouse returning home to restore their childhood burrow. Explore, gather resources, craft, knit warm sweaters, bake pies and meet the locals.
Yes, Your Grace: Snowfall by Brave At Night - Planned Release Date: To be announced Rule your crumbling kingdom as you try to satisfy the petty needs of your people in this cinematic kingdom management RPG. Balance your resources, collect taxes, hire agents and make difficult decisions to see your kingdom prosper or fail.
When The Past Was Around by Mojiken - Available: To be announced When the Past was Around is an adventure point-and-click puzzle game about love, moving on, letting go, and the joy and pain of everything in between.
The links above are to the games' Steam pages. Atlas Wept and When The Past Was Around's demos are also on itch.io!
Why 5? Because LEILA's lack of guidance made me rage quit, and Yes, Your Grace: Snowfall's demo was no longer available.
Overall, I want Winter Burrow and When The Past Was Around, and they are on my wishlist. Not a smart business move.
For anyone interested in a mini-review, it will be available on the Opinions & Truth | O&T blog later today, or this week, here!
If you don't see Part 25 when you click the link, it means I'm still working on it. Feel free to look at other videos while you wait!

Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 25
Tuesday, March 25, 2025
Welcome to Part 25 of the Let's Play Some Demos!
Today, I, attempted, to play 4 demos for your enjoyment:
Amadeus: A Riddle for Thee by ArcanaXIX - Planned Release Date: 2025 Play as Amadeus, a young werewolf struggling to understand his condition, as he navigates a tale woven by Witches. In desperation, he sells his own memories for a notebook and a promise. A linear narrative Visual Novel + Adventure Game. Episode 1 of 5. CONTENT WARNING: This game deals with topics including: child abuse/neglect, death, murder. It also involves body horror with respect to the main character's werewolf transformations.
Lord Ambermaze by Potata Company - Planned Release Date: To be announced Lord Ambermaze is an adventure RPG with a turn-based combat system and time manipulation mechanics – only your steps can force the flow of time to move. Delve into the depths of the underworld to challenge the evil Lord and restore time.
Night Dessert by mystific - Planned Release Date: 2025 Night Dessert is a sultry talking simulator set in a cozy pixel-art pastry shop. Chat with intriguing characters, enjoy flirtatious conversations, and indulge in sweet secrets - all while a city under new prohibition laws tries to keep desires under wraps. CONTENT WARNING: This game features suggestive dialogue, flirtation, dating scenarios, occasional depictions of nudity, and playful innuendos. While exploring romantic and sensual themes, the content remains non-explicit and focuses on character relationships, personal dramas, and emotional connections. The tone is chill and atmospheric, blending humor, sultry undertones, and a touch of intimacy. The game does not contain violence. AI-GENERATED CONTENT DISCLOSURE: We are a small indie team without a dedicated composer, so we are currently using AI-generated music. Our goal is to replace it with original compositions as soon as our budget allows, and we would love to collaborate with talented musicians in the future. The ONLY REASON I played this is because they INTEND to replace the spit with original compositions, aka. human art.
Through the Nightmares by Sandman Team - Available: Coming soon Help the Sandman to overcome all fears in the hardcore action-platformer Through the Nightmares. Find and rescue the children, fight all their phobias! Defeat the almighty Morpheus! Test your skill in a world where everything is trying to kill you. Die, resurrect, learn from mistakes and try again!
The links above are to the games' Steam pages. Amadeus: A Riddle for Thee, Lord Ambermaze, Night Dessert, and Through the Nightmares' demos are on itch.io!
Overall, I want Amadeus: A Riddle for Thee, and Lord Ambermaze, and they are on my wishlist. When the spit is replaced in Night Dessert, I'll wishlist it.

Welcome to Part 23 of the Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD series! For those who are new, I aim to provide commentary and feedback on game demos for educational purposes! In addition, with how saturated Steam is, let's get these indie games some attention, shall we (and the occasional AAA game I think isn't getting enough attention)? The Star Named EOS by Silver Lining Studio - Available The Star Named EOS is a story-rich puzzle adventure built around photography. Recreate compositions of past photos to uncover the truth of a family mystery. Experience a harmonious mixture of beautiful hand-drawn art and engaging puzzles on a journey of reminiscence.

Emblems: Sunless Vow by oldflowerGames - Planned Release Date: 2025 Escape the void...and destroy its heart. The links above are to the games' Steam pages. Crime or Punishment and Emblems: Sunless Vow's demos are also on itch.io!

Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 21
Tuesday, February 25, 2025
Welcome to Part 21 of the Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD series! For those who are new, I aim to introduce gamers to, usually, Indie games and to provide commentary and feedback for educational purposes! In addition, with how saturated Steam is, let's get these indie games some attention, shall we? For this episode, I used some of the demos I had grabbed from the Myths & Legends Steam Event! RULES! Typically, there are 4 demos. Each demo gets 30 minutes, not including the adjustment of settings and character creation. I might up it to 5 and/or play a great game for longer if there are technical issues. And NO AI's spit, aka. plagiarism laundering.
Today, I played 4 demos for your enjoyment:
Constance - Planned Release Date: Q4 2025 Constance is a 2D hand-drawn action adventure featuring a paintbrush-wielding artist, striving to escape from a colorful but decaying inner-world, created by her declining mental health.
Dragoon Ascension - Early Access Game Dragoon Ascension is a Party-Based RPG that strikes a balance between adventure and combat. Defeat enemies and witness the rise of the kingdom of Windfall. Find tomes that the Ancients left behind to learn their secrets. Become the ultimate weapon.
Kara Fantasy - Available: Coming soon Embark on an epic journey through five mystical forest worlds to save Princess Kara and show the world that the true hero lives in each of us!
Welcome to Elderfield - Available: Coming soon Welcome to Elderfield is a spooky farming RPG.
With all that out the way, here are my opinions, via the "Layered Compliment Sandwich":
Constance had me freakin' out in a good way! Until it pissed me off due to user error. We'll get to that. The dash mechanic had me phasing through spiky plants! Whoever thought of that should get a raise! The color palette was great! The art style was amazing! And the whole thing gave me Hollow Knight vibes! Which I said multiple times in the video, but, ya know what, worth mentioning again to those who have never played it. It's a great comparison to make, AND I'm not going to be making it again here. It did that enough in the video. I love this game, but I have the same issue with it that I do with others; puzzles. Also, while playing, they didn't make the direction of a particular attack clear. I also had issues with the controls, but, again, user error. I needed to do an attack, but I kept dashing. Oops. I WANTED to keep playing, but I suck at puzzles... and with attacks that have to do with timing... and the timer was running out... Go play it, cuz I can't. On stream, cuz I will feel like an idiot the entire time.
Dragoon Ascension was either Available when I looked at it, then the developers switched it from Available to Early Access or I forgot to mark it as Early Access. 1-800-MYY-BAAD either way. Moving on, PIXEL ART! And it was very well done! Also, because I didn't pay attention to when I could Save, I fucked up. I died, and had to start over, because I didn't save. Also, when we could Save should have been more obvious. Also, why couldn't I flee from the second fight with the bandits? And why wasn't there a warning before the first fight, before entering the area, that it would be difficult? Dragon Age: Inquisition has warnings on the map, which I thought was convenient. And why does the dialogue take so damn long to pop up? And why can't we skip it? Back to good things, the combat was incredibly unique! Having a timer before being able to attack was definitely engaging! I wanna play with it more! And, it will probably get a "Let's see if we can finish the demo!" stream series! Kara Fantasy is a great-looking pixel art game! And the first thought that came to my mind as I started going through levels was Hades! Pixel art Hades! It also had me asking a lot of questions. So, we're Princess Kara's bodyguard. Cool. Why did someone have to give me a sword? Why do we have to find armor and whatnot as we progress through the game? Why don't we have armor already? Why didn't we have health potions right off the back? Why don't we have a bunch of money right off the bat? Why is the Princess living in a house on a farm and not a castle? Is she in exile and that's why our equipment, and there for our ability to protect her, is shit? Now, despite all these questions, I wanna keep playing the game. The combat was fun, and the crafting looked like it was going to be. Being able to get yourself back to town whenever you feel like was cool, but it would be nice to receive a warning advising all progress was going to be lost doing so. And, it will probably get a "Let's see if we can finish the demo!" stream series! Welcome to Elderfield was as excellent as I expected it to be and was my favorite of the bunch!  I want it! I want it! While I tend to lose my mind when it comes to pixel art, the art for the NPCs when there was a conversation was a CLOSE second. Whoever came up with the design for the rat that attacked me is both a piece of shit and needs a raise. The combat was annoying as fuck because HOW was a rat doing more damage than me? How? Good thing I made food. Another gripe, while I'm already griping, though it's a small one, why is the enemy health bar in the bottom left corner? Inconspicuous? Again, minor thing. I remark on it being there when I FINALLY killed it. That shouldn't have taken as long as it did. I DO love the fact, that after I went into the sewers, I was warned I wasn't prepared for a fight. Thank you! Also, this game made me want to explore and talk to people. Not necessarily investigate, cuz I've watched horror movies, but I do want to look around for resources since food is, apparently, important. Stardew Valley has competition! And, it will probably get a "Let's see if we can finish the demo!" stream series!
Overall, despite some of my gripes, I want all of them, and they are on my wishlist. As a reminder, Constance will be available in Q4 2025, whatever that means, Dragoon Ascension is available as an Early Access Game, and Kara Fantasy and Welcome to Elderfield are Coming Soon, without a date.
And that's it for the Part 21 mini-review! Thank you for reading! Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 20
Tuesday, February 18, 2025
Welcome to Part 20 of the Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD series! For those who are new, I aim to introduce gamers to, usually, Indie games and to provide commentary and feedback for educational purposes! For this episode, I used some of the demos I had grabbed from the Myths & Legends Steam Event! I think...
AI LIMIT - Coming Mar 27, 2025 In the distant future when civilization is on the verge of extinction, people follow the legend of the Elysium in the last city, Havenswell. In this post-apocalyptic wasteland sci-fi ARPG, you will play as Arrisa, a Blader with immortality, and explore the city ruin to find the hope of a new life.
Harmony's Odyssey - Available Harmony's Odyssey is a 3D fantasy adventure puzzle game set on mythical dioramas full of riddles, perky creatures and magic. Embark on a fantastic journey through remote fabled lands tangled by a rowdy cat and bring peace to its inhabitants.
Last Time I Saw You - Available First loves. Family issues. Yokai. 'Last Time I Saw You' is a coming-of-age adventure set in 1980s Japan. Explore a haunted forest hiding a terrible secret, and interact with a vast cast of friendly and dubious characters in this beautifully hand-drawn story with some light action elements.
Whiskers & Wizardry - Available 2025 Step into the magical paws of an overconfident wizard cat in this action-packed roguelite! Craft unique spells, battle hordes of minions and powerful bosses, cleanse the forest of evil, and rescue your Human Wizard Owner. From the creators of Margoq's Lair, a studio focused on roguelite games.
The links above are to the games' Steam pages. Also, Harmony's Odyssey's demo is available on itch.io!
With all that out the way, here are my opinions, via the "Layered Compliment Sandwich":  AI LIMIT LOOKED FAN-FUCKIN-TASTIC! I loved how Arrisa was animated! I loved how the enemies were animated! I loved the design of the entire level! AND the game suffered from what many games I've played suffer from; their tutorial was not as clear as they thought it was. It said items could be assigned to shortcuts, but didn't say how to do it. Even when I went into the Controls at the end, it wasn't there. Also, unless I missed it, it would've been nice to know how the healing item worked when we got it. I wouldn't have waited until I was almost dead to use it had I known. Dying gave me the opportunity to look at the pretty ruin, though. Dying multiple times did, too. What got on my nerves, though, was the lack of guidance. I beat, what seemed to be, the big bad, and yet... had I not run out of time, I would have rage quit at some point. I want the game because it has promise. I'm hoping it will have more guidance in it. IT LOOKED/S GREAT!
Harmony's Odyssey was incredibly confusing, but it being adorable made up for it. When I read the description and saw "puzzles", I was certain I wasn't going to like it. Then it reminded me there were certain puzzles I liked! And it did them in a unique way. The "Find the Differences" puzzles moving was distracting. If it was supposed to be, then fine. Job well done. The mini-games were a surprise, but ended up being fun. The story was, is, my biggest problem. It makes. No. Sense. So, a cat steals one of a witch's wands and now we're chasing the cat trying to get it back. Why are we chasing the cat when we could teleport the cat back? Then, while we're chasing the cat, instead of teleporting the cat, the witch alters the world and turns it into the "rearrange the tiles to create a picture" puzzle. Why? I wanna keep playing because how the puzzles were created was incredibly unique, but... Why? Last Time I Saw You has an AMAZING color palette! And it taking place in 1980s Japan didn't really hit me until Ayumi, our main character, made certain comments about wishing people had their own phones. You say that now, child... The art style was, is, sublime. I want a movie in this art style. And it was the art style, the story, and the fact I could make all the dialogue appear with the press of a button that made me keep playing. The beeping-like sound that played as the text was coming in was... ich. Why do developers do that? STOP IT! I didn't think until now to check and see if I could make the dialogue immediately appear... I also felt like I was "playing" a teenager. They were relatable. And how they introduced the little bit of action was well done as well, even though learning the action was annoying. If I was supposed to be spooked a bit, they succeeded. Well done! Gimme more! Whiskers & Wizardry was more adorable than I expected it to be! And more difficult. Apparently, I SUCK at aiming. Thankfully, the dodge-roll made up for it. Part of the issue with aiming, though, was the paw you're aiming with. At one point, it hid behind the Wizard Cat, and then I couldn't tell where I was aiming, which made me even more shit at aiming. The premise kept me going. That and the art. A magic cat trying to find their Wizard Owner? Sign me up! I have allergies, I need to have a cat somehow! Every game like this I cannot help but think of Hades or Cursebane. The "create your own spell" mechanic was, is, genius. This, combined with a leveling system to allow for personal, and changeable, improvements allowed for a customizable playstyle. I will DEFINITELY be pointing this one out to my partner! It's creative AF and deserves some attention! Overall, despite some of my gripes, I want all of them, and they are on my wishlist. I'll have to play AI LIMIT in moderation, though, since the camera will give me a headache if I forget to use the "Lock On" mechanic. As a reminder, AI LIMIT will be available on Mar 27, 2025. Whiskers & Wizardry will be available in 2025. Harmony's Odyssey and Last Time I Saw You are both Available. Lastly, I advised in the video I would be streaming Doloc Town on Sunday, February 23rd, and would link to Parts 1 and 2 for the curious, so, here you go!
And that's it for Part 20! Thank you for reading! Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 19
Tuesday, February 11th, 2025
Welcome to Part 19 of the Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD series! For those who are new, I aim to introduce gamers to, usually, Indie games and to provide commentary and feedback on the games for educational purposes! In addition, no AI.
Today, I, attempted, to play 4 demos for your enjoyment:
Dungeons of Hinterberg - Available Discover the magic and lore of the Alps in this acclaimed Action Adventure. Forge relationships with locals to help you solve puzzles, battle monsters and uncover secrets of the legendary Dungeons of Hinterberg!
The Mildew Children - Available Featuring a blend of 2D adventure and visual novel, The Mildew Children is a grim tale about a village inhabited only by children who follow savage pagan traditions. A young witch named Kyrphel, along with her sisters, are bound to perform a macabre Ritual in order to save their village.
Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island - Available You're shipwrecked on a lost mythical island. As backpacker Alex, you must befriend the forgotten gods of Greek mythology and restore their memories. Explore the dynamic island and its story sandbox to build new friendships, solve the mystery and save the gods.
Yaoling: Mythical Journey - Early Access Game Yaoling: Mythical Journey is a creature collecting Eastern fantasy RPG featuring an world filled with rich stories and unique Yaolings. Tasked to uncover a mysterious evil, you embark on a journey with your Yaolings, forming new friendships, engage in intense battles, and face countless challenges!
All links above are to the games' Steam pages. The Mildew Children is also available on itch.io!
Why was it an "attempt" to play? Because I suck at puzzles; Dungeons of Hinterberg broke me. However, I will still be able to render a verdict, via the "Layered Compliment Sandwich": Dungeons of Hinterberg was fucking fun until I got stumped by a puzzle. There were some annoyances, like the color of the attack animation. And the popping sound when dialogue was loading onto the screen. And the lack of a jump button. However, the lack of a jump button was made up for with the convenience of the automatic climb-up when getting close to a ledge. Now, my not liking guidance when it comes to puzzles is well-known, if you've been here for a while, so I'm not getting into it. My biggest issue with it, and it could very well be a "me" thing, was the fact it gave me a lingering headache. I'll end on I REALLY wish I could have kept playing! The art style was GORGEOUS!
The Mildew Children was an uncomfortable, but pleasant surprise. At one point, I asked why everyone was white. The art style is excellent and consistent and keeps to the grim theme. The story is engaging, even if I don't really understand what's going on. I was also STUNNED by something I didn't expect but should have; children having children. How else would we have a village of only children? And yet, most of the children we encountered acted like adults. I didn't do a whole lot of research before playing, so I don't know why this game was made, but I am getting a simple message from it; even children can be cruel. Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island is a beautiful game! And the fact the main protagonist was a black woman was a pleasant surprise. The way the game was designed reminded me of Lili: Child of Geos, minus all the trees. My biggest issue was the random changing of camera angles. It threw me off, especially while I was moving. It has one of the best maps I've ever seen, though, which was nice. My favorite part about it was the fact it SEEMED like a popular fruit was going to be used as currency. The most surprising part was Hermes; not how I expected the Messenger god to look. Am I playing too much Hades...? I was looking forward to getting into the Friend system, but the timer rang... Yaoling: Mythical Journey IS ADORABLE! When I was reading the description, I said it sounded like Pokémon and I was right, to a point. Instead of catching the Yaolings with a Pokéball, you use magic, paper charms instead! You can carry up to 7 charms at a time and, the best part, during a battle, all of your Yaolings fight at once! If you love tactical battles, you'll get a hand of this battle system pretty quickly! The part that was tricky for me was capturing the Yaoling I wanted before mine knocked it out... Similar to Pokémon, when you get your first Yaoling, you're a teenager, and you pick 1 out of the 3 you are introduced to. You also pick your name! But you pick it when you're found as a baby. That, automatically, made it better than Pokémon, and it was before I started playing. Especially since the design of a Pokémon never had me squeal from cuteness overload. Overall, I want Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island and Yaoling: Mythical Journey, and they are on my wishlist. As a reminder, Dungeons of Hinterberg, The Mildew Children, and Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island are all Available, while Yaoling: Mythical Journey is in Early Access.
And that's it for Part 19! Thank you for reading! If this series of videos is something you're interested in, the videos are available on YouTube, The Titans' Discord, Steam, Rumble, Odysee, and Ko-fi! Don't forget to hit the Subscribe and/or Follow buttons to know when there's more!

Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 18
Tuesday, February 4, 2025
Welcome to Part 17 of the Let’s Play Some Demos! | LPSD series! For those who are new, I aim to introduce gamers to, usually, Indie games and to provide commentary and feedback on the games for educational purposes! For this episode, I used some of the demos I had grabbed from the Cooking Fest and Cozy Quest Steam Events! I think. I grabbed a bunch during those events, and outside of them, so I don't know anymore… Typically, there are 4 demos. Each demo gets 30 minutes, not including the adjustment of settings and character creation. Unless we have issues with demos, then I might up it to 5 and/or play a great game for longer.
Today, I, attempted, to play 4 demos for your enjoyment:
Meadgard: Beer and Plunder - Planned Release Date: To be announced Grab your friends and embark on a mythical quest to create the ultimate Viking tavern. Serve feisty customers, meet a unique cast of villagers, and battle creatures and enemies as you explore the island for rare ingredients. Team up, discover new recipes, and prove your worth to the gods!
BOKURA: planet - Available: Apr 24, 2025 "Back to the same planet, together... That's all I wanted..." BOKURA: planet is a two-player puzzle adventure that explores cooperative gaming. Players take on the role of the crew on a space exploration ship as they try to escape from a planet where they have crash-landed on.
Teeny Tiny Town - Available Proving that all good things come in threes! Welcome to Teeny Tiny Town, where you connect three identical tiles to evolve your city, merge by merge. Watch your metropolis grow from scratch, from 'aww' to 'awesome!'
Tower of Babel: Survivors of Chaos - Available: Coming soon Battle hordes of monsters, acquire new skills, and upgrade your abilities. Customize your build with hundreds of item combinations and reach the top to fulfill your deepest desires. Conquer the tower in this thrilling roguelite hack and slash survivors game!
All links above are to the games' Steam pages.
Why was it an "attempt" to play? Because I didn't pay attention to how much Meadgard: Beer and Plunder relied on multi-player; I couldn't progress through Meadgard's demo without a second player. I couldn't play BOKURA: planet at all and I didn't have the patience to find out why. However, I will still be able to render a verdict via the "Layered Compliment Sandwich": Meadgard: Beer and Plunder was a delight! Until I couldn't proceed anymore, but that was fine. I got enough out of the demo to recommend the game to those who like bar management games. And has the friends to help. The game was designed well! The hand-drawn-looking map is absolutely adorable! It is a contrast to the 3D bar you manage, though. It makes sense since the introductory cutscene was in the hand-drawn-looking art, but I kinda wanna see the bar in that style. I also wanna see the intro cutscene in the 3D art. In case I wasn't clear, I enjoy the art style.
BOKURA: planet was a disappointment because I couldn't play. If you've been here a while, you know I love pixel art, and I REALLY wanted to get a closer look at it! But I couldn't get past the main screen. Sad face. What I saw looked pretty, though. Pretty sure it was user error, since I didn't read too much about it before trying to play. Teeny Tiny Town looked great, which is why it caught my attention! The main issue I had with the game was the lack of guidance. However, the mechanics were interesting enough to where I, instead of rage quitting, couldn't help but keep going until I figured it out. The first time I read the description of it out loud, I compared it to a mobile game. And it had that feel. The design is simple, and not uncommon for a mobile game. You earn coins as you play, and it's set up to be annoying enough to get certain personality types to buy more coins, were that an option. And, I hope they don't add the option. By making it so we can't buy coins to keep going, it made me think for critically about my moves, once I understood the mechanics. It made my achievements mean more. Tower of Babel: Survivors of Chaos WAS SO MUCH FUN! The first game that came to mind while playing it was 20 Minutes. I don't think I mentioned it while playing because I was too busy trying to survive. The skills you unlock are amazing and are a lot of fun to watch! Until they get overwhelming, preventing me from being able to see, but I think increasing the brightness will help with that. The art design was spectacular to the point where I remember how the characters were designed! We have the 3 different kinds of skeletons, the bats, the floating eyes, the slimes, the goblins, the giants, the blobby-looking spiders! I don't know what some of them are called, but I'm thinking of the multiple attempts as I type. In fact, it's the only one I was picturing as I was writing. I don't really have any complaints because everything that went wrong seemed to be user error. Overall, I want Meadgard: Beer and Plunder, Teeny Tiny Town, and Tower of Babel: Survivors of Chaos, and they are on my wishlist. As a reminder, Meadgard: Beer and Plunder release date has not yet been announced, BOKURA: planet will be available on Apr. 24, 2025, Teeny Tiny Town is Available, and Tower of Babel: Survivors of Chaos does not yet have a release date.
And that's it for Part 18! Thank you for reading! If this series of videos is something you're interested in, the videos are available on YouTube, The Titans' Discord, Steam, Rumble, Odysee, and Ko-fi! Don't forget to hit the Subscribe and/or Follow buttons to know when there's more!
