Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 20
Tuesday, February 18, 2025
Welcome to Part 20 of the Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD series! For those who are new, I aim to introduce gamers to, usually, Indie games and to provide commentary and feedback for educational purposes! For this episode, I used some of the demos I had grabbed from the Myths & Legends Steam Event! I think... RULES! Typically, there are 4 demos. Each demo gets 30 minutes, not including the adjustment of settings and character creation. I might up it to 5 and/or play a great game for longer if there are technical issues. And NO AI's spit, aka. plagiarism laundering.
Today, I played 4 demos for your enjoyment:
AI LIMIT - Coming Mar 27, 2025 In the distant future when civilization is on the verge of extinction, people follow the legend of the Elysium in the last city, Havenswell. In this post-apocalyptic wasteland sci-fi ARPG, you will play as Arrisa, a Blader with immortality, and explore the city ruin to find the hope of a new life.
Harmony's Odyssey - Available Harmony's Odyssey is a 3D fantasy adventure puzzle game set on mythical dioramas full of riddles, perky creatures and magic. Embark on a fantastic journey through remote fabled lands tangled by a rowdy cat and bring peace to its inhabitants.
Last Time I Saw You - Available First loves. Family issues. Yokai. 'Last Time I Saw You' is a coming-of-age adventure set in 1980s Japan. Explore a haunted forest hiding a terrible secret, and interact with a vast cast of friendly and dubious characters in this beautifully hand-drawn story with some light action elements.
Whiskers & Wizardry - Available 2025 Step into the magical paws of an overconfident wizard cat in this action-packed roguelite! Craft unique spells, battle hordes of minions and powerful bosses, cleanse the forest of evil, and rescue your Human Wizard Owner. From the creators of Margoq's Lair, a studio focused on roguelite games.
The links above are to the games' Steam pages. Also, Harmony's Odyssey's demo is available on itch.io!
With all that out the way, here are my opinions, via the "Layered Compliment Sandwich": AI LIMIT LOOKED FAN-FUCKIN-TASTIC! I loved how Arrisa was animated! I loved how the enemies were animated! I loved the design of the entire level! AND the game suffered from what many games I've played suffer from; their tutorial was not as clear as they thought it was. It said items could be assigned to shortcuts, but didn't say how to do it. Even when I went into the Controls at the end, it wasn't there. Also, unless I missed it, it would've been nice to know how the healing item worked when we got it. I wouldn't have waited until I was almost dead to use it had I known. Dying gave me the opportunity to look at the pretty ruin, though. Dying multiple times did, too. What got on my nerves, though, was the lack of guidance. I beat, what seemed to be, the big bad, and yet... had I not run out of time, I would have rage quit at some point. I want the game because it has promise. I'm hoping it will have more guidance in it. IT LOOKED/S GREAT!
Harmony's Odyssey was incredibly confusing, but it being adorable made up for it. When I read the description and saw "puzzles", I was certain I wasn't going to like it. Then it reminded me there were certain puzzles I liked! And it did them in a unique way. The "Find the Differences" puzzles moving was distracting. If it was supposed to be, then fine. Job well done. The mini-games were a surprise, but ended up being fun. The story was, is, my biggest problem. It makes. No. Sense. So, a cat steals one of a witch's wands and now we're chasing the cat trying to get it back. Why are we chasing the cat when we could teleport the cat back? Then, while we're chasing the cat, instead of teleporting the cat, the witch alters the world and turns it into the "rearrange the tiles to create a picture" puzzle. Why? I wanna keep playing because how the puzzles were created was incredibly unique, but... Why? Last Time I Saw You has an AMAZING color palette! And it taking place in 1980s Japan didn't really hit me until Ayumi, our main character, made certain comments about wishing people had their own phones. You say that now, child... The art style was, is, sublime. I want a movie in this art style. And it was the art style, the story, and the fact I could make all the dialogue appear with the press of a button that made me keep playing. The beeping-like sound that played as the text was coming in was... ich. Why do developers do that? STOP IT! I didn't think until now to check and see if I could make the dialogue immediately appear... I also felt like I was "playing" a teenager. They were relatable. And how they introduced the little bit of action was well done as well, even though learning the action was annoying. If I was supposed to be spooked a bit, they succeeded. Well done! Gimme more! Whiskers & Wizardry was more adorable than I expected it to be! And more difficult. Apparently, I SUCK at aiming. Thankfully, the dodge-roll made up for it. Part of the issue with aiming, though, was the paw you're aiming with. At one point, it hid behind the Wizard Cat, and then I couldn't tell where I was aiming, which made me even more shit at aiming. The premise kept me going. That and the art. A magic cat trying to find their Wizard Owner? Sign me up! I have allergies, I need to have a cat somehow! Every game like this I cannot help but think of Hades or Cursebane. The "create your own spell" mechanic was, is, genius. This, combined with a leveling system to allow for personal, and changeable, improvements allowed for a customizable playstyle. I will DEFINITELY be pointing this one out to my partner! It's creative AF and deserves some attention! Overall, despite some of my gripes, I want all of them, and they are on my wishlist. I'll have to play AI LIMIT in moderation, though, since the camera will give me a headache if I forget to use the "Lock On" mechanic. As a reminder, AI LIMIT will be available on Mar 27, 2025. Whiskers & Wizardry will be available in 2025. Harmony's Odyssey and Last Time I Saw You are both Available. Lastly, I advised in the video I would be streaming Doloc Town on Sunday, February 23rd, and would link to Parts 1 and 2 for the curious, so, here you go!
And that's it for Part 20! Thank you for reading! If this series of videos is something you're interested in, they're available on YouTube, The Titans' Discord, Steam, Rumble, Odysee, Ko-fi, and on multiple blogging platforms! Don't forget to hit the Subscribe and/or Follow buttons to know when there's more!

The Medium Trailer Shows Off “Dual-Reality” Gameplay

When Bloober Team debuted its next horror game, The Medium, it said that it would be exclusive to PC and Xbox Series X, skipping the current generation altogether. At the time the studio suggested that the next-gen power was necessary for its key feature, and now we may have gotten our first look at what it meant. Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 19
Tuesday, February 11th, 2025
Welcome to Part 19 of the Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD series! For those who are new, I aim to introduce gamers to, usually, Indie games and to provide commentary and feedback on the games for educational purposes! For this episode, I used some of the demos I had grabbed from the Myths & Legends Steam Event! RULES! Typically, there are 4 demos. Each demo gets 30 minutes, not including the adjustment of settings and character creation. I might up it to 5 and/or play a great game for longer if there are technical issues. In addition, no AI.
Today, I, attempted, to play 4 demos for your enjoyment:
Dungeons of Hinterberg - Available Discover the magic and lore of the Alps in this acclaimed Action Adventure. Forge relationships with locals to help you solve puzzles, battle monsters and uncover secrets of the legendary Dungeons of Hinterberg!
The Mildew Children - Available Featuring a blend of 2D adventure and visual novel, The Mildew Children is a grim tale about a village inhabited only by children who follow savage pagan traditions. A young witch named Kyrphel, along with her sisters, are bound to perform a macabre Ritual in order to save their village.
Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island - Available You're shipwrecked on a lost mythical island. As backpacker Alex, you must befriend the forgotten gods of Greek mythology and restore their memories. Explore the dynamic island and its story sandbox to build new friendships, solve the mystery and save the gods.
Yaoling: Mythical Journey - Early Access Game Yaoling: Mythical Journey is a creature collecting Eastern fantasy RPG featuring an world filled with rich stories and unique Yaolings. Tasked to uncover a mysterious evil, you embark on a journey with your Yaolings, forming new friendships, engage in intense battles, and face countless challenges!
All links above are to the games' Steam pages. The Mildew Children is also available on itch.io!
Why was it an "attempt" to play? Because I suck at puzzles; Dungeons of Hinterberg broke me. However, I will still be able to render a verdict, via the "Layered Compliment Sandwich": Dungeons of Hinterberg was fucking fun until I got stumped by a puzzle. There were some annoyances, like the color of the attack animation. And the popping sound when dialogue was loading onto the screen. And the lack of a jump button. However, the lack of a jump button was made up for with the convenience of the automatic climb-up when getting close to a ledge. Now, my not liking guidance when it comes to puzzles is well-known, if you've been here for a while, so I'm not getting into it. My biggest issue with it, and it could very well be a "me" thing, was the fact it gave me a lingering headache. I'll end on I REALLY wish I could have kept playing! The art style was GORGEOUS!
The Mildew Children was an uncomfortable, but pleasant surprise. At one point, I asked why everyone was white. The art style is excellent and consistent and keeps to the grim theme. The story is engaging, even if I don't really understand what's going on. I was also STUNNED by something I didn't expect but should have; children having children. How else would we have a village of only children? And yet, most of the children we encountered acted like adults. I didn't do a whole lot of research before playing, so I don't know why this game was made, but I am getting a simple message from it; even children can be cruel. Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island is a beautiful game! And the fact the main protagonist was a black woman was a pleasant surprise. The way the game was designed reminded me of Lili: Child of Geos, minus all the trees. My biggest issue was the random changing of camera angles. It threw me off, especially while I was moving. It has one of the best maps I've ever seen, though, which was nice. My favorite part about it was the fact it SEEMED like a popular fruit was going to be used as currency. The most surprising part was Hermes; not how I expected the Messenger god to look. Am I playing too much Hades...? I was looking forward to getting into the Friend system, but the timer rang... Yaoling: Mythical Journey IS ADORABLE! When I was reading the description, I said it sounded like Pokémon and I was right, to a point. Instead of catching the Yaolings with a Pokéball, you use magic, paper charms instead! You can carry up to 7 charms at a time and, the best part, during a battle, all of your Yaolings fight at once! If you love tactical battles, you'll get a hand of this battle system pretty quickly! The part that was tricky for me was capturing the Yaoling I wanted before mine knocked it out... Similar to Pokémon, when you get your first Yaoling, you're a teenager, and you pick 1 out of the 3 you are introduced to. You also pick your name! But you pick it when you're found as a baby. That, automatically, made it better than Pokémon, and it was before I started playing. Especially since the design of a Pokémon never had me squeal from cuteness overload. Overall, I want Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island and Yaoling: Mythical Journey, and they are on my wishlist. As a reminder, Dungeons of Hinterberg, The Mildew Children, and Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island are all Available, while Yaoling: Mythical Journey is in Early Access.

Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 18
Tuesday, February 4, 2025
Welcome to Part 17 of the Let’s Play Some Demos! | LPSD series! For those who are new, I aim to introduce gamers to, usually, Indie games and to provide commentary and feedback on the games for educational purposes! For this episode, I used some of the demos I had grabbed from the Cooking Fest and Cozy Quest Steam Events! I think. I grabbed a bunch during those events, and outside of them, so I don't know anymore… Typically, there are 4 demos. Each demo gets 30 minutes, not including the adjustment of settings and character creation. Unless we have issues with demos, then I might up it to 5 and/or play a great game for longer.
Today, I, attempted, to play 4 demos for your enjoyment:
Meadgard: Beer and Plunder - Planned Release Date: To be announced Grab your friends and embark on a mythical quest to create the ultimate Viking tavern. Serve feisty customers, meet a unique cast of villagers, and battle creatures and enemies as you explore the island for rare ingredients. Team up, discover new recipes, and prove your worth to the gods!
BOKURA: planet - Available: Apr 24, 2025 "Back to the same planet, together... That's all I wanted..." BOKURA: planet is a two-player puzzle adventure that explores cooperative gaming. Players take on the role of the crew on a space exploration ship as they try to escape from a planet where they have crash-landed on.
Teeny Tiny Town - Available Proving that all good things come in threes! Welcome to Teeny Tiny Town, where you connect three identical tiles to evolve your city, merge by merge. Watch your metropolis grow from scratch, from 'aww' to 'awesome!'
Tower of Babel: Survivors of Chaos - Available: Coming soon Battle hordes of monsters, acquire new skills, and upgrade your abilities. Customize your build with hundreds of item combinations and reach the top to fulfill your deepest desires. Conquer the tower in this thrilling roguelite hack and slash survivors game!
All links above are to the games' Steam pages.
Why was it an "attempt" to play? Because I didn't pay attention to how much Meadgard: Beer and Plunder relied on multi-player; I couldn't progress through Meadgard's demo without a second player. I couldn't play BOKURA: planet at all and I didn't have the patience to find out why. However, I will still be able to render a verdict via the "Layered Compliment Sandwich": Meadgard: Beer and Plunder was a delight! Until I couldn't proceed anymore, but that was fine. I got enough out of the demo to recommend the game to those who like bar management games. And has the friends to help. The game was designed well! The hand-drawn-looking map is absolutely adorable! It is a contrast to the 3D bar you manage, though. It makes sense since the introductory cutscene was in the hand-drawn-looking art, but I kinda wanna see the bar in that style. I also wanna see the intro cutscene in the 3D art. In case I wasn't clear, I enjoy the art style.
BOKURA: planet was a disappointment because I couldn't play. If you've been here a while, you know I love pixel art, and I REALLY wanted to get a closer look at it! But I couldn't get past the main screen. Sad face. What I saw looked pretty, though. Pretty sure it was user error, since I didn't read too much about it before trying to play. Teeny Tiny Town looked great, which is why it caught my attention! The main issue I had with the game was the lack of guidance. However, the mechanics were interesting enough to where I, instead of rage quitting, couldn't help but keep going until I figured it out. The first time I read the description of it out loud, I compared it to a mobile game. And it had that feel. The design is simple, and not uncommon for a mobile game. You earn coins as you play, and it's set up to be annoying enough to get certain personality types to buy more coins, were that an option. And, I hope they don't add the option. By making it so we can't buy coins to keep going, it made me think for critically about my moves, once I understood the mechanics. It made my achievements mean more. Tower of Babel: Survivors of Chaos WAS SO MUCH FUN! The first game that came to mind while playing it was 20 Minutes. I don't think I mentioned it while playing because I was too busy trying to survive. The skills you unlock are amazing and are a lot of fun to watch! Until they get overwhelming, preventing me from being able to see, but I think increasing the brightness will help with that. The art design was spectacular to the point where I remember how the characters were designed! We have the 3 different kinds of skeletons, the bats, the floating eyes, the slimes, the goblins, the giants, the blobby-looking spiders! I don't know what some of them are called, but I'm thinking of the multiple attempts as I type. In fact, it's the only one I was picturing as I was writing. I don't really have any complaints because everything that went wrong seemed to be user error. Overall, I want Meadgard: Beer and Plunder, Teeny Tiny Town, and Tower of Babel: Survivors of Chaos, and they are on my wishlist. As a reminder, Meadgard: Beer and Plunder release date has not yet been announced, BOKURA: planet will be available on Apr. 24, 2025, Teeny Tiny Town is Available, and Tower of Babel: Survivors of Chaos does not yet have a release date.
And that's it for Part 18! Thank you for reading! If this series of videos is something you're interested in, the videos are available on YouTube, The Titans' Discord, Steam, Rumble, Odysee, and Ko-fi! Don't forget to hit the Subscribe and/or Follow buttons to know when there's more!

I grabbed a bunch during those events, and outside of them, so I don't know anymore… Each demo gets 30 minutes, not including the adjustment of settings and character creation.
Today, I, attempted, to play 4 demos for your enjoyment, which resulted in my picking a fifth:
Doloc Town - Available: To be announced Doloc Town is a cozy pixel art farm simulation game set in a post-apocalyptic world. Build your dream farm from scratch and explore this mysterious wasteland. Harvest, plant, build, and battle against ferocious creatures while discover the untold stories of this forgotten land!
Feed the Cups - Early Access Game Feed the Cups is a Roguelite multiplayer online cooperative game. Run a Drink Shop, stocking up, preparing ingredients, taking orders, crafting drinks, cleaning up, and checking equipment. Join your friends together!
Manitas Kitchen - Available Welcome to Manitas Kitchen, a casual cooking game with a dressing of arcade and mini-games, where you'll meet Trexito, a T-Rex with short arms that has one dream: to become the best pizza maker!
Mushroom Picnic Party - Planned Release Date: Q1 2025 Help find little mushrooms and prepare for an epic picnic party in this cute hand-drawn hidden object game!
Rift of the NecroDancer - Available: Feb 5, 2025 The NecroDancer's back in an all-new rhythm game! Dragged into a strange new world, Cadence must engage in musical combat with monsters surging through the Rift! Face pulse-pounding Rhythm Rifts where every beat is a battle, all set to an original soundtrack by Danny Baranowsky & friends.
All links above are to the games' Steam pages.
Why was it an "attempt" to play? Because the gameplay for Feed the Cups could not be recorded, just like with Backpack Battle. So, since the rest of the demos were short, I decided to grab a fifth! I'll have to pick a day to play the non-recordable demos on my own, take screenshots, and do a separate mini-review. Despite this, I will still be able to render a verdict, via the "Layered Compliment Sandwich":
Doloc Town's pixel art was great! I LOVE a pixel art game! And was enjoying the protagonist's oversized shirt and what looked like a welding mask. And, almost, the second I found out jumping was faster than walking, I became a hopping fool. The game has an interesting balance of tutorial and figure-it-out. The tutorial for removing platforms needs a slight adjustment. It took me a minute to figure out what "at your feet" meant. There's trying to be creative and then there's needless confusion. Advising stand on it to hit it with the pickaxe is fine. What I found amusing was when the bag got full, there was suddenly a letter about where to get a bigger one. Convenience kink!
Feed the Cups looked promising, but I can only comment on the snippets that actually showed up in the video, which was the art. It wasn't bad. I was looking forward to seeing more. And I think there's a pattern with their demos; they made Backpack Battle. If I remember, I'll dig deeper to see if it not being recordable was on purpose. It's not a good business move if it is, though. Video game journalism includes videos and, a lot of the time, people buy games because they saw someone else play them. I'M one of those people. Before I buy a game I'm looking forward to, or even their DLC, I look at reviews. I look at game footage. I wanna know what I'm getting into before I buy. So, IF they are purposely blocking their demos from being recorded... why?
Manitas Kitchen was a pleasant surprise! The typos threw me off, though. I don't know if I have a learning disability, or if it's because I'm Autistic, but the less grammatically correct a sentence is, the longer it takes me to process it, so there were a few pauses as I was reading. THANKFULLY, the tutorials were in pictures, which made picking up on the mechanics easier. I'm a visual learner, so words must come with pictures. Examples are, usually, needed, and they delivered. Well done! An annoyance, though, is the small space. The stations need to be widened a smidge and/or the area where Trexito can stand and still access the stations. I lost track of how many times I snapped at the game because I was pressing the button to put the pizza down and it wouldn't do it. Although, what is incredibly unique about this restaurant management game is stress. I don't remember there ever being a game where stress was taken into consideration AND it has effects. When Trexito became too stressed, he actually slowed down, forcing me to let him sit. THAT was brilliant!
Mushroom Picnic Party WAS ADORABLE! And fun! If you've been here a while, you know I hate puzzle games because I'm not good at them and they make me feel, and look, like an idiot. Not a pleasant feeling. Hidden item puzzles are the only ones that don't make me feel like an idiot. It's a hidden item game, so, if I can't find it, the designer did their job. It's a pleasant game! Mushrooms are a niche not well represented and the developers did well here! I wanted to keep playing! What was, also, incredibly satisfying was being able to choose the theme of the puzzles! More purple, please! It was a pleasant experience! Well done!
Rift of the NecroDancer combining a rhythm game with monster hunting is pretty unique! My first rhythm game was Rock Band and, funnily enough, I'm better at Rift. It probably has something to do with the fact I'm only using a keyboard. My coordination is limited, which Rift helps with. Where the game gets annoying, while being simultaneously brilliant, is the tutorials. Reiterating, I'm a visual learner. So, them showing how the monsters behaved before the tutorial began was BRILLIANT, but how they were to be stopped can use some work. I would suggest telling the player when to press the button during the first few encounters. Look at the section where I was dealing with the knight to see why. And the shield folks. I was following along with the beat as well as I could, but I was still missing. And I was starting to get pissed off. And feel like an idiot. When someone fails a section THAT many times, another tutorial needs to pop up to provide further guidance. Don't change the music. Keep that. My brain would, probably, be replaying the music if I wasn't balancing myself out with YouTube videos while writing this. And don't change the art style, either. Please and thank you.
Overall, I want Doloc Town, Manitas Kitchen, Mushroom Picnic Party, and Rift of the NecroDancer, and they are on my wishlist.
As a reminder, Doloc Town is not available, with a date yet to be announced. Feed the Cups, at the time of writing, is an Early Access Game. Manitas Kitchen is Available. Mushroom Picnic Party's Planned Release Date is Q1 2025. And Rift of the NecroDancer will be Available on Feb 5, 2025, at the time of writing.
And that's it for Part 17! Thank you for reading! If this series of videos is something you're interested in, the videos are available on YouTube, The Titans' Discord, Steam, Rumble, and Odysee! Don't forget to hit the Subscribe and/or Follow buttons to know when there's more!

Welcome to Part 16 of the Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD series! For those who are new, I aim to introduce gamers to, usually, Indie games and to provide commentary and feedback on the games for educational purposes! For this episode, I used some of the demos I had grabbed from the Cooking Fest and Cozy Quest Steam Events! I think. I grabbed a bunch during those events, and outside of them, so I don't know anymore…
Today, I played 4 demos for your enjoyment:
Cornucopia® - Early Access Game A nostalgic 2.5D farm sim with 74 exotic crops, loyal pets bred for amazing genetics, and 34+ marriage candidates—from spirited youths to wise elders. Master NPK compost, raise magical kids, conquer dungeons, and delight in whimsical scratch-card arcade fun. Your cozy story starts now!
Hipster Café - Early Access Game Ever wanted to design, build and manage a café on your very own home computer? Really? OK then... welcome to HIPSTER CAFÉ. Make stupid food, serve it on a skateboard, and impress your friends by drawing in your coffee.
Let's Café - Early Access Game Food makes everything better in this cozy café business simulator. Discover recipes and set your menu to rake in those tips and five-star reviews. Solve your fuzzy clientele's problems with the power of good cookin' and earn the favor of satisfied customers.
Spells & Secrets - Available In this rogue-lite adventure, you free the Academy of Greifenstein from magical creatures by using your spells creatively. Explore this modern magical world alone or in local co-op mode with friends and family, customize your character, solve mysteries, and find powerful artifacts.
All links above are to the games' Steam pages.
The verdict? Via the "Layered Compliment Sandwich": Cornucopia®'s art style is ABSOLUETLY adorable! If you've been here a while, you know I LOVE pixel art! AND the tutorial felt like a tutorial. And was, also, a bit of a time waster. And made no sense, since we couldn't see the passage of time. On the way back from the hospital, we are asked to clear the roadblocks. How long were we in the hospital that we needed to clear up growing bushes in the middle of the road on the way back? Why was there a pile of giant rocks in the middle of the road? Why weren't folks in town keeping the roads clear? The tutorial could have, and should have, been done on the farm itself. The best part about it was the dog! And the mailman has a little chick following him around! Hipster Café gets bonus points for being unique. The fact they incorporate promoting your café on social media is brilliant! HOWEVER, it needs to provide more guidance. Figuring out what customers need can not be left to symbols. And, when we click on them to fill their coffee order, what they want needs to appear in the "Coffee Creation" screen. Being expected to remember is an unnecessary addition to the cognitive load. The art style is simplistically cozy. We could also say cozily simplistic. The Research mechanic was a bit overboard. What made me keep playing as long as I did, however, was the obvious jab at capitalism. We are specifically told we were able to get the café started with a trust fund. Brilliant! Let's Café was so damn cute! And, I didn't mention it in the video, it was another of those "make your own recipes" games that had me leaning on Maid Café on Electric Street for ideas. I would never have thought to make the different types of lattes, which lead to the different types of chai, otherwise. Also, their lack of a tutorial and throwing me in was ACTUALLY effective. The initial "here's what's going on" needs a font size increase, though. If I, with my glasses on, had a hard time reading it, I can imagine how others might feel about it. Also, this is a café, why isn't coffee ALWAYS being sold? Other than that, it was a lot of fun! And it looked like I could keep playing the demo; I believe I will! Spells & Secrets' art style was impressive, but the tutorial not only felt like a tutorial, it also wasted my time. And we are in the most irresponsible school ever. Why would you leave a first-year student (I wonder what the inspiration for the game was) to deal with intruders? Why wouldn't a professor, after finding a student, not teleport them to safety? And why would only certain items be able to be lifted with telekinesis? There were entire sections that could have been skipped. One thing I will give it, in regards to the intruders, was finding out I could use telekinesis to hit another enemy with them and kill them both. It was a happy accident. Why wouldn't any of the professors have a griffin's feather? Why would the teachers be perfectly comfortable sending you back into the castle to find the rest of the students? Why don't I have a party of professors going along with me? This game makes no sense. Hades and Harry Potter were combined horribly. Looks good, though. Work was clearly put into that. Overall, I want Cornucopia® and Let's Café, and they are on my wishlist. As a reminder, Cornucopia®, Hipster Café, and Let's Café are all in Early Access while Spells & Secrets is available.

Welcome to Part 15 of the Let's Play Some Demos!
Today, I, attempted, to play 4 demos for your enjoyment:
Chicken Journey - Available Play as an adorable chicken in this relaxing platformer. Jump, climb and solve puzzles to find the answer to the ULTIMATE question a chicken can ask...
FANTASIAN Neo Dimension - Available Embark on an adventure to discover your memories and save the world from a mechanical infection. Maneuver your skill trajectories during battle, and dive into a new dimension with a unique twist on a classic RPG experience.
Terra Memoria - Available A shortage of magic crystals and the sudden awakening of ancient robots leads six new friends on an incredible investigation across Terra – a cozy and fantastic world that combines 3D and pixel art.
Until Then - Available A fateful meeting sets off a chain reaction, upending Mark's life. People disappear and memories prove unreliable. Uncover a hidden truth with Mark and his friends in this narrative adventure and race to unravel the mystery before it's too late.
All links above are to the games' Steam pages.
Why was it an "attempt" to play? Because Chicken Journey stumped me with a puzzle, and I wasn't going to sit around so I could continue to feel like an idiot. (And the point of these videos is to introduce people to indie games, or AAA games that wow me, so I'll keep grabbing them.) However, I will still be able to render a verdict. With that out the way, on to my observations and opinions, via the "Layered Compliment Sandwich":
Chicken Journey making me feel like an idiot doesn't stop it from being adorable. I was having fun with it, up until that point. I wanted to keep playing, but puzzle games are not for me. So I'm going to geek out over the pixel art. If you've been here a while, you know I LOVE pixel art games! We need more! And this game delivers! The title screen having everything but the title of the game be a pixel art font threw me, though. The lack of consistency I'll remember. Clearly. Playing it was fun! Until I felt like an idiot, but don't let that sway you. The sound design was great, except for one for the dialogue, and the little bit of hide-and-seek was cute! The game has things going for it, but it's not my kind of game. Sadly.
FANTASIAN Neo Dimension: another game whose camera makes me feel sick after a while, but I would have endured it had I not had a timer. And the game had such promise... The design of the game was both pretty and annoying. For the main character, Leo, his body was semi-realistic, then he had a cartoony face. Why? Really? The Death Star had a place to dock, and then the people were cartoony? There were quite a few, "No shit," moments that would have been funny had the voices of the character not been annoying. There was WAY too much talking, which is expected in these kinds of games, so... really nothing to complain about. Much. You may think I don't like the game, but I actually do. The camera constantly swinging around makes it so I can't play it. If I could take the combat and put it into another game, I WOULD! Terra Memoria's use of the combat timeline is unique, while the dialogue has me wanting to skip it. I looked up "constancy", the word that kept being overused to the point where I started groaning, and it means, "the quality of being faithful and dependable." and "the quality of being enduring and unchanging." Oh. Is this game a giant message about apathy (which means "lack of interest, enthusiasm, or concern.")? We did have a concerning scene regarding books being useless. And ripping pages out of books. It definitely has a message regarding education. Again, we have pixel art and I was pleased, and they did a decent job integrating 3D. I want to keep playing this for the story and the combat system! Until Then was incredibly well-designed and boring. It looked great, but I was happy when the timer went off. For this type of game, it had me doing WAY too much! Why are you having me hold down a button so Max can send a text message? Why did some of the options for said text message not matter when I picked them? I couldn't connect with the characters. Picking how to make the Slides for the school report was the most exciting thing about it. That, and the pixel art. It takes a LOT to make me not like pixel art. There, they were great. Overall, I want Terra Memoria, but not badly enough to snag it myself. It's on my wishlist, for anyone who feels like being generous. As a reminder, Chicken Journey, FANTASIAN Neo Dimension, Terra Memoria, and Until Then are all Available.
And that's it for Part 15! Thank you for reading! If this series of videos is something you're interested in, the videos are available on YouTube, The Titans' Discord, Steam, Rumble, and Odysee! Don't forget to hit the Subscribe and/or Follow buttons to know when there's more!

Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 14
Welcome to Part 14 of the Let's Play Some Demos!
Chef's Tail - Available Play as the "Cat Chef" in the spooky but cute underworld. Earn your coin by tending the trees, fishing and creating incredible dishes, or just sleep for 16 hours a day on a comfy pillow. The choice is yours.
Espresso Tycoon - Available Espresso Tycoon - a coffee shop simulator. Create your brand, decorate the coffee shop, manage your employees, and take care of your customers. Use the 3D coffee editor to create coffee recipes, order supplies, and collect rating points. Build the whole coffee business and complete all the missions!
Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo - Coming Soon Use your wits, kindness, and maybe a good whack to gather clues, items, and evidence that will help the residents of Limbo move on. Untangling an afterlife is no easy feat, especially when you don’t have feet!
Tavern Talk - Available A cozy visual novel about running a tavern in a D&D-inspired fantasy! Gather rumors, serve magical drinks, and meet adventurers on a life-changing quest.
All links above are to the games' Steam pages.
With all that out the way, here are my opinions, via the "Layered Compliment Sandwich":
Chef's Tail is on my wishlist, but it's a game someone would have to gift me in order for me to play it. The idea of a cat cooking for souls in the Underworld is an EXCELLENT idea, but the execution was a nuisance the demo didn't give me enough time to figure out and adjust to. Did not having WASD annoy me? Yes. Was I shown why WASD wasn't an option later on? Yes. The problem was how much later I was shown. It was a major inconvenience, up until that point. Also, how the cat travelled was inconsistent. I can hop up signs to get onto the tops of and hop onto other buildings, but I can't jump down a pile of large, stable, rocks to get to the docks faster? My biggest issue was with the part that was the most fun; the cooking. What was going on with the interface? Why was everything so zoomed in, preventing me from cooking anything? The demo left me with nothing but questions, and I want them answered which is why I want to keep playing. I missed what should have been my favorite part of the game, fishing, because I was too busy trying to find an NPC who should have been easy to find, but wasn't, because the glitter guide wasn't doing its job and peoples' names are too difficult to see. Why is an important NPC almost completely transparent? I wanna fish, dammit!
Espresso Tycoon was fun until I went back to it after the video to find out the hard way what upgrades weren't available in the demo. The more popular my coffee truck became, the longer the lines got, and I couldn't make my character go any faster. Which was frustrating. And saddening because I watched people walk away irritated. And they left bad reviews because of it. Which only made me want it more, so, good job there developers. But I'm, also, getting the impression the only reason why I was having so much fun was because I had the recipes from Maid Café on Electric Street on hand to diversify the menu. After I bought ice cream, when playing on my own, I was serving Affogato, and it became my most popular item! That and the Lattes. Since I was only able to play the demo, I don't know if they'll teach us other recipes. Which is why this is going to be a game I'll only play if someone gifts it to me. Love the premise. Needs more guidance. Keep the process for branding the coffee truck how it is! It was fun!
Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo was a pleasant surprise! It was adorable, full of fun colors, and the characters, despite the short amount of time spent, were interesting! I was invested! However, it's another game I would need to be gifted to keep playing. I was getting irritated with all the "figure it out" puzzles. I have a tough enough time with obvious puzzles; hitting me with one that takes forever to figure out is only gratifying, at least for me, when it's obvious I've FINALLY found the answer. When I can get the relief the puzzle is finally done. Long, drawn-out puzzles frustrate me and make me feel like an idiot. Go check out my last Little Goody Two Shoes stream to see what happened last time I felt that way. Even though the puzzling was frustrating, I LOVED watching time pass! It was beautiful! And rolling around and slamming into things made a very satisfying "THUD"!
Tavern Talk was my favorite. It's going to be getting its own LPS$ - Let's finish the demo! stream on Sunday, Jan. 19th. It was the biggest and most pleasant surprise! The D&D inspiration was clear and I was all for it! I love visual novels and this one brought incredibly unique mechanics to it: the making of drinks and the quest board. Usually, when something gets messed up, the entire thing needs to be thrown out. With this, however, if you pour too much of something, you can only pour out a little bit instead of starting over. THE CONVENIENCE! THANK YOU! Also, the chalkboard showing a design to represent how much of each ingredient goes into the drink was genius! Now, for the quest board: you take rumors you hear about and compile them into an announcement poster for your quest board. All these rumors are gathered by talking to your customers, which makes sense since you're the Innkeeper. And yet no one has asked for a room. Only a drink. Is it deeper in the demo? Or is that a game thing? Should we be being called "Fuck Ass" instead of Innkeep?
Overall, I want all of them, and they are on my wishlist, but I would only be confident enough to buy one for myself.

Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 13
Welcome to Part 13 of the Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD series! For those who are new, I aim to introduce gamers to, usually, Indie games and to provide commentary and feedback on the games for educational purposes! For this episode, I used some of the demos I had grabbed from the Cooking Fest and Cozy Quest Steam Events! I think. For those who have been here a while, I changed up the format because I wasn't feeling well: I set a timer for 30 minutes for each demo. And I'm going to be doing that from now on. For those who are new, "HI!"
Today, I played 4 demos for your enjoyment:
Food Truck Simulator - Available "Renovate, equip and restore the shine of the food truck that belonged to your father. Create recipes, cook the food and serve customers across an entire city. Customize and upgrade your food truck to reach more customers and expand your menu."
Magical Bakery - Available "Experience a life full of magic, challenges, and the joy of creating sweets that will leave a spellbinding impression on your customers. Become the ultimate magical baker and prove yourself worthy to inherit the Magical Bakery!"
Magical Delicacy - Available "A magical pixel art platformer. Explore an unfamiliar town and deliver tasty treats to the townsfolk. Cook magical delicacies from your bought and gathered ingredients. Learn new ways to traverse, discover secrets, and figure out the intricacies of your orders."
Seaside Cafe Rush Hour - Available "Seaside Cafe Rush Hour is a single-player game about cooking on a beach."
All links above are to the games' Steam pages.
The verdict? Via the "Layered Compliment Sandwich": Food Truck Simulator eventually grew on me. After adjusting the settings, it was easier for me to get into. I like the idea, but it's not something I can play due to the first-person perspective. I can't remember a first-person game that didn't give me a massive headache. Because I only played this for 30 minutes, it didn't get as bad as it could have. The customization of the truck was entertaining, though I wish they had let me play with it a little more. The driving in third-person was FUN! And helpful, for reasons already stated. The truck continuing to drive while a tutorial box popped up was annoying because I had to get unstuck in a wall when it went away. Other than that, the driving was ACTUALLY my favorite part. Even though I hit people... twice...? The cooking portion was... alright. I liked how the monitors told you what the ingredients were for an order. But the fact I can only grab one thing at a time got old quickly. And food, tomatoes especially, were going to waste and it was getting on my nerves. Great idea, meh execution.
Magical Bakery is cute and I hope to be able to snag it in the future! I was able to quickly get invested in the characters, even Bob, who lives in the trashcan! I wonder if that's due to the influence of Sesame Street... The graphics are adorable! The customization was annoying, however; I should be able to hit "Confirm" on every page. I LOVE the vibes of the bakery! I would visit in real life if I could! My BIGGEST issue, and I complained about it a few times, is when people take time to pick an item when there is only one available on the menu. I get it from a mechanics standpoint; since I can only make one sweet at a time, then taking time to pick gives me time to cook. Ya know what would fix that? Giving us the ability to bake two things at a time from the start. Magical Delicacy makes me think of a less dystopian version of Dex, which might be part of the reason why I want it, even though they have some of the same navigation issues when stairs are involved. Didn't stop it from being my favorite of the bunch. I LOVE pixel art games! And, even though I didn't get to spend a lot of time with the characters, with it, probably, being the shortest demo I've ever played, I can still think back to them and remember what they look like AND remember where they are in the world. THAT is a feat! Dex had me spinning all the time! I don't know why there are a bunch of spike bushes next to the bakery, but I guess we'll find out...? The art's great, the few characters we met are great, the user interface was easy to pick up on and convenient, even if I kept jumping when I wanted to talk, and I can't wait until I'm able to buy it!
Seaside Cafe Rush Hour was fun once I got into a groove, but it had some of the same issues Food Truck Simulator did. I was getting a headache playing it. And, surprisingly, Seaside gave me the worst one. I don't know if it was the game's fault I got nauseous or if it was because I didn't eat enough before recording the video. Could be both. Still, a game that makes me nauseous I can't play, no matter how much I want to. While I didn't understand why they had things setup the way they did on the dock, the reach I had to grab things made up for it. They could use a different font for the orders, though; it was difficult to read, which made remembering the orders more difficult. Though, I did like the oldtimey-looking paper the orders were on. Fun game, but I can't play it and it makes me sad.
Overall, I want Magical Bakery and Magical Delicacy, and they are on my wishlist.
As a reminder, Food Truck Simulator, Magical Bakery, Magical Delicacy, and Seaside Cafe Rush Hour are all Available.

Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 12
Welcome to Part 12 of the Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD series! For those who are new, I aim to introduce gamers to, usually, Indie games and to provide commentary and feedback on the games for educational purposes! For this episode, I used some of the demos I had grabbed from the Cooking Fest and Cozy Quest Steam Events! I think.
Today, I, attempted, to play 4 demos for your enjoyment:
AdventureBarStory - Available "Adventure through the kingdom, collecting materials! Make food, manage a bar!"
Bone's Cafe - Available "Bone's Cafe is a fast paced, 1-4 Players couch co-op, cooking game. Customize the layout of your kitchen to guarantee your success. Specialize your menu in ingredients and recipes to design your ultimate cafe. Put your necromancy skills to the test and raise your own undead kitchen staff."
DELTARUNE - Coming soon "UNDERTALE's parallel story, DELTARUNE. Meet new and old characters in a tale that steps closer to its end, chapter by chapter. Dodge bullets in nonviolent RPG battles as you listen to funky, funky music. Try Chapter 1 and 2 for free... now!!! More chapters in development!!!"
Mudborne - Planned Release Date: To be announced "Mudborne is a casual nature management sim about discovering & breeding frogs! Awoken from hibernation you find your pond abandoned. Through the genetic keys of new species you must unlock the paths between the waking & dreaming worlds, and embark on a journey to restore lost populations."
All links above are to the games' pages.
Why was it an "attempt" to play? Because Bone's Cafe's unclear instructions frustrated me to the point of quitting and a puzzle in DELTARUNE would have made me rage quit if I hadn't had another demo lined up. Both demos were uninstalled. However, I will still be able to render a verdict. Mini-review commence! The first thing I want to say is I LOVE the art style of all the games! They were all unique and memorable! Well done! AdventureBarStory surprised me! I didn't know what to expect, since I didn't take a look before playing the demos, and I got a Stardew feel. Even though I was having a hard time remembering the ingredients I needed for the bar, I had fun trying to figure out the recipes with hidden ingredients! And the "you don't level up via fighting but via eating" turned out to be a pleasant twist! I was initially dreading it. I was wondering how they were going to make fighting in a dungeon fun if it wasn't going to make us stronger and they pulled it off. Well done! Bone's Cafe was FUN until it looked like they were trying to force me to do a co-op like the game's description didn't specifically state it can be done with one person. I kept trying to figure out how to continue on my own and couldn't, so I stopped, to my disappointment. The controls took some getting used to, but once I got into a groove it was a great time! My biggest criticism is the sound design. The sound the character makes when they talk is grating. The only way I'll ever play the game is if it's a gift. DELTARUNE I had high hopes for due to how much I heard about UNDERTALE to find out I probably should have done some research first. Had I known it was going to be so puzzle-heavy, I wouldn't have played it. I did love the little twist in the beginning where they destroyed the character you created to show how your choices don't matter, which was a theme that played out. It had me wondering if doing a pacifist playthrough even mattered. Mudborne I was looking the most forward to and it started to disappoint until I figured out how the guide they gave me worked, which is my biggest criticism; I shouldn't have had to figure out how the guide worked. The instructions should have been more clear. Afterwards, though, everything began to run smoothly. I am curious as to why, when I had it in full screen, unwindowed, Streamlabs stopped picking up on the game. It's something to look into. That, and zooming in. The text is difficult to read. I was able to start enjoying the game. It's probably one I'll get for myself later. It reminded me a LOT of Tinkerlands! As a reminder, AdventureBarStory and Bone's Cafe are Available, DELTARUNE is Coming soon, and Mudborne's Planned Release Date: To be announced.
And that's it for Part 12!

- Part 11
Welcome to Part 11 of the Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD series! For those who are new, I aim to introduce gamers to, usually, Indie games and to provide commentary and feedback on the games for educational purposes! For this episode, I used some of the demos I had grabbed from the Cooking Fest and Cozy Quest Steam Events!
Today, I, attempted, to play 4 demos for your enjoyment:
Critter Café - Available "Welcome to your Critter Café! Rescue and bond with adorable, fantasy critters in need of your help and build a new home together. Design and run your own café, care for your critters, uncover the secrets of mysterious portals, and create a wholesome café for all to enjoy!"
Grimoire Groves - Planned Release Date: Mar 6, 2025 "Join the witches in their quest to restore the Grimoire Groves! Master magic, grow cute plant creatures and discover the mystery of the Rainbow Socks in this cozy, rogue-lite dungeon crawler."
Pixel Cafe - Available "Step into Pixel's shoes in this one-of-a-kind journey that bridges time, memories, and the aroma of fresh coffee. Dive deep into a city balancing its past and future. Engage in intense arcade challenges, immerse yourself in heartfelt stories, and navigate a world crafted in pixel art."
Wizdom Academy - Available: Q1 2025 "Build your 3D wizard school, recruit students and staff, manage your resources, take strategic decisions and solve the mystery of the severe mana shortages at Wizdom Academy."
All links above are to the games' Steam pages.
Why was it an "attempt" to play? Because Critter Café crashed after 30 minutes, and Grimoire Groves was unplayable DURING the first, in-game interaction. I had to press a bunch of buttons to be able to get the Pause Menu to open so I could get the Main and quit.
However, I will still be able to render a verdict.
Critter Café was FUN for that first 30 minutes. I was disappointed I wasn't able to continue. The character creation was amusing, despite the lack of diverse hairstyles, and designing the café had me excited, even with the limited options! The closer I got café the way I wanted it, I was eager to open it for the first time. And then it crashed, and that will be the last time I mention it. The art style was adorable and reminded me of Fae Farm. The controls were a bit of an irritant. Being able to put down more than one item at a time without having to keep going back to the inventory would have been nice. But the different color schemes were sublime!
I have high hopes going into Grimoire Groves, but they were killed in 5 minutes and 17 seconds. The art style was cute, even though it wasn't consistent. The little bit I was able to do mechanically was pleasant, though. Getting stuck talking to the main quest starter, twice, made me not even want to keep trying.
Pixel Cafe quickly improved my mood. It reminded me of other food preparation games I've played in the past, but this one really kicked in my ADHD drive with the growing urgency! It, also, had more of an RPG element, which I always look forward to in games. The story was surprising! I'm not gonna get into it, but the part where we see how critical the mom is kinda hit home. I'm glad to say mine isn't anywhere CLOSE to that bad. The other RPG element was getting to upgrade the house the character, Pixel, was living in.
I, initially, had issues with the controls, but, after I got the hang of it, I was able to get into a groove. My one big critique is in the player feedback. At the top of the screen, there are anywhere between two or three groups of three blocks. They are meant to show you when someone is at the counter, the mood of the customers, when you need to go to the counter to prevent something from burning or to stop a pouring drink machine from spilling over, and other information, but I had to figure that out myself. Now, the game does advise that it's "fast-paced" and we'll learn on the job, but that's no excuse for the minimalist tutorial. Other than that, it's an EXCELLENT game and I was disappointed when the demo ended.
Now, Wizdom Academy was a GREAT time, and, while writing this section, it reminded me a LOT of Ratopia. In both games, you have to build up your school/community from the ground up. They both require some type of resource management, people management, and growing in a sustainable fashion. Where Wizdom Academy is different is you don't have to worry about anyone dying and having to watch the graves accumulate as you figure out how to effectively take care of everyone. You also have a top-down view and you watch things unfold.
When I loaded up the New Game, the art style immediately caught my attention. Its bold, fantastical realism put a smile on my face. The realist in me, though, had me wondering why the teachers' sleeping quarters were so small. Why wasn't it a building with suites, instead? Why, when hiring teachers, do we not see their specialty as they're being hired? Why are we picking what a student wants to learn instead of them telling us what they're interested in learning? And why do I have to go through people vandalizing buildings due to their boredom WAY before we get ways to boost peoples' motivations? We're dealing with children; why isn't there anything available from the beginning to help them stay motivated?
With, most, of my criticisms out of the way, here are the positives: the way they provide goals via a council was an EXCELLENT idea! It gave me an idea of how to run the academy sustainably and it gave me a sense of urgency. The additional list of quests were helpful as well. I didn't feel like I was being left, completely, unguided. I was left to figure some things out, which was great. And I got sucked in BIG TIME! I had to rush through the closing because of it because of how close to 4 hours I was getting.
The art was great, and the plot, building a wizarding academy was great, even if only starting off with one course and building from there had me wondering... why? This game made me curious about how to start a school. And well done sucking me in, developers!
Overall, I want Pixel Cafe and Wizdom Academy and they are on my wishlist.
As a reminder, Critter Café is Available, Grimoire Groves' Planned Release Date is Mar 6, 2025, Pixel Café is Available, and Wizdom Academy Demo will be Available in Q1 2025.
And that's it for Part 11! Thank you for reading! If this series of videos is something you're interested in, the videos are available on YouTube, The Titans' Discord, Steam, Rumble, and Odysee! Don't forget to hit the Subscribe and/or Follow buttons to know when there's more!
