So in doubles it's less that your Pokemon gets hurt by the first attacks and more dependent on the type of attack, so focused attacks will only hurt the target but more spread out attacks like surf, earthquake, Blizzard, etc. will hurt everyone on the field beside the user

I never actually played B&W but literally the best bug type designs came from that generation (Scolipede, Joltik/Galvantula, and Larvesta/Volcarona specifically) and I salute it for that 🫡

I don't think anything has been said about other races and fairies, I think they're considered familiars or summons so I assume Gnomes and Tallmen can make them too.
