Hello again! I'm back with another That '70s Show original script. This time we'll be looking at S3xE23 "Backstage Pass"!
This one is extra special because of who it belonged to - one Corey Landis. And it's a table draft, which means there were quite a few changes (some of them significant!). Read on for my summary.
Tumblr media
Who's Corey Landis? you may ask. Fair question.
Tumblr media
He is the actor who plays a young Red Forman a few different times throughout the series! It's really cool to see the different notes he wrote to himself about how a scene should be staged or acted.
First up, right off the bat the cold open has some different lines.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you can see, the scene still ends in the same place and most of what the characters say is similar. You can see how they made it slightly shorter in the episode.
I like that Fez is interested in the soybean futures lol, that in the actual episode Eric's line was, "Pork belly prices. How cute is that?" instead, and that LP might've improvised her bit about forgetting to turn off the microphone (or it was added by a writer/producer in a later version of the script).
Eric and Donna's next scene is virtually the same, except for one major difference...
... the band they went to see was originally going to be Aerosmith! In the actual episode, they went to see Ted Nugent. There must have been some kind of licensing issue with being able to use Aerosmith. It's a significant difference, though, because this episode would've continued the characterization that Donna has a crush on Steven Tyler.
There's also this funny, cut moment at the end of Eric and Donna's scene at the radio station:
Tumblr media
Now onto the parents.
Some more Bob and Midge lore:
Tumblr media
Red and Kitty's interaction is nearly word for word, but check out the actor's notes from the table read!! Pretty cool.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next scene sees the gang waiting for the Aerosmith Ted Nugent concert to begin. And again it's similar, though not identical, to the scene that aired - Jackie and Kelso discuss their week of romance, Eric and Donna are eager for the concert to begin, and Fez and Hyde reveal their misspelled concert merch.
I was robbed of another Eric & Donna kiss (and a hug!), though 😑 + Eric calling her his "best girl". πŸ₯Ή
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next we're back to the parents.
Red is still trying to remember how he and Kitty really met, and Kitty is becoming increasingly upset. In the episode she told him her version of events at this point, but in the script it is dragged out a little longer.
The Packer refrigerator magent line made me chuckle, ngl.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back at the concert. This scene is again nearly identical to what really aired, but I enjoyed Kelso's Aerosmith versions of the songs he changed for Jackie. πŸ˜‚
Tumblr media
Then we check in on Fez and Hyde, who are struggling to sell their misprinted t-shirts just like in the episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Donna's scene backstage is word for word, except she's interviewing Steven Tyler instead of Ted Nugent.
In the next scene, Fez and Hyde get arrested. The scene is practically the same, except we get a little more insight into how upset Eric is with Donna. "Tonight was supposed to be about us," 😫. And I like Fez's Cheryl Tiegs line from the actual episode better.
Tumblr media
Then the script cuts back to Red and Kitty. It's basically the same scene from the actual episode, but with a few added details. Horseface Lynn Taylor is mentioned again 🀣
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then Eric's scene with the janitor (Stanley!!), and Donna's scene backstage where Ted/Steven offers to let her touch the guitar are word for word.
Kelso and Jackie's storyline and lines are mostly unchanged throughout, but this added line from Eric at the end of their final scene made me πŸ˜‚πŸ€£
Tumblr media
Then we're back to Red and Kitty to conclude their storyline for the episode. The scene starts out the exact same, but ends with slightly different lines.
I just love getting to see the actor's notes!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And finally, the biggest difference of all: in the script, Eric and Donna's final scene takes place in the Forman basement, not outside of the concert venue. I'm glad they changed that, because all I can think is: how did Donna get home that night? Even though he was pissed, Eric really left her there? No no no no no. 😣 I think it's much more in character that he waited.
I do like that in the script Donna at least actually apologized - in the episode, she didn't. It's widely acknowledged within the fandom that this is one of Donna's worst moments on the show, regardless.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As one of the final episodes of season 3, this episode/storyline was integral to setting the stage for Eric and Donna's emerging break-up and it does the job. The original script even more so than the actual episode, in my opinion.
Well, that's all I've got for this one! Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for more in the series. I'm your *very* pregnant and uncomfortable host, @thatseventiesbitch πŸ˜„.

What is Print API?
Web to print API is a tool that helps web applications to communicate with each other, triggering certain actions without the need for coding. Web APIs are commonly used in eCommerce for a variety of operations, including payments. Print APIs make it possible for businesses to manage all of their print-on-demand requirements through a single interface.
Tumblr media
When a print job arrives at the API, it triggers a print script. Each script is defined by a "hook", which is a JavaScript function defined by the script writer. The hook's position in the print workflow will determine how it behaves later in the workflow. Hooks that call later will have access to additional information. In general, a generic main hook will satisfy most needs.
Print data includes the document itself and a Java object encapsulating 2D graphics. Depending on the type of print data, these steps vary. For example, a document print job is represented by DocPrintJob, while a 2D graphics print job is represented by PrinterJob.
ePOS-Print API is an application interface (API) for web developers that enables web applications to print documents with a web browser. It supports printing to TM printers and HTML5 Canvas. It is available for the TM-T70-i, -T88V-i, and -i Firmware Ver.4.0 or later.

It's ILI! Yep I remember PJ differences in books and movies the first time I saw the movie I was like: Is that from the book? And the missing scenes😫 Anyway I wanted to ask you (you're interested) to write any fantasy scenes in RYLK? Personally I don't know why but I can't keep my thoughts to write that kind of scenes (It's complicatedπŸ˜…)
Man, one of the things I love the most in T70S are the fantasy scenes. They always crack me up.
I don't think I'll write fantasy scenes in RYLH, and if I did (I really don't think I will), they'd like, dreams or something, like I did on chapter 8.
Writing fantasy scenes is hard, especially when the story is not on script format. I honestly admire the authors that can do it, because I've tried before, and it came out awful.
I think the biggest problem for me is the transition part, switching from reality to fantasy and from fantasy to reality. Ugh, everything js just really confusing for me. Same thing with flashback scenes.
I am trying to work on it though, especially because one of my upcoming stories has a lot of flashback scenes.

Well what do you know ... I had one more in me.
I am thrilled to share the original script for S7xE25 "Til The Next Goodbye" with you all. There's lots of Eric/Donna goodness in this script - I was hoping there would be. πŸ₯Ί
Read on for my summary of the differences between the table draft and the episode that aired!
Tumblr media
Jackie and Kelso's scene to start the episode is nearly identical, but there's an added line about the Chicago sports teams that makes me (a transplant Chicagoan) laugh:
Tumblr media
The rest of the scene is the same. It ends with Kelso offering to stay awhile and get a burger with Jackie.
Next up we have the scene in the Forman kitchen with Eric, Donna, Red, Kitty, and Bob. It's written a little differently in the table draft:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Donna bought Eric travel books for the extremely nervous traveler lol πŸ₯ΊπŸ₯° (Also - can I get that series?? Asking for a friend.)
I also like how she pushed back on Kitty here on Eric's behalf, reminding her that her adult son can make his own decisions... well, until Kitty glares at her and Donna ducks behind Eric to get out of the swing zone 🀣
Then we have the scene of the gang in the basement.
In the table draft, Eric isn't worried about his mom throwing him a surprise going away party.
Eric, Donna, and Hyde's cut dialogue here made me laugh out loud. πŸ˜‚
Tumblr media
Kelso's recounting of dropping off Jackie - and Donna's about her calling several times to criticize her outfit - are the same as in the episode. Then Jackie calls, and Hyde's surprised she wants to speak to Eric.
Eric and Jackie's dialogue is a little different (more sentimental, I'd say):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The scene ends the same way, with Jackie asking to speak to Red after she's finished talking to Eric.
The next scene is Fez and Charlie talking on the driveway, and then Eric and Donna approach. Fez tells the story about what a good friend Eric is because he poured soda all over him after he fell into a hole Kelso and Hyde lured him into πŸ™ˆ. It's word for word, except Charlie interjects a few lines.
It's particularly clear in this draft that their original plan was to set up Charlie to be a regular in season 8 following Topher and Ashton's departure. As I think most of us know, Charlie's actor, Bret Harrison, got offered his own show called The Loop, resulting in T70 writing him off in the first episode of S8 by saying he died falling off the water tower. I am personally in the I-would-definitely-have-preferred-Charlie-over-Randy camp, even though they still might've tried pairing him up with Donna to manufacture angst. This gives me an idea for a What If story. Hmm...
There's also this added exchange at the end of the scene, mocking Fez's sentimentality and manhood πŸ™„
Tumblr media
Next is Hyde and Leo at Grooves, discussing Loud Girl. The scene is word-for-word up until this point:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Leo provides more of his stoned insight: "I mean, you guys fight sometimes but deep down you really care about her. There's no shame in that." πŸ₯°
Speaking of Charlie... here's another scene he had with Fez and Eric, that was greatly shortened in the aired episode:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
*Wonders about how Fez's S8 storylines would have been different if Charlie was around instead of Randy* πŸ€”
The scene continues with this:
Tumblr media
Which leads directly into the guys' final circle.
Eric says, "Hey, pass me some more courage!" to start the scene and then they go into the exact dialogue from the episode.
The following scene with Red and Kitty lecturing the guys in the kitchen while they're stoned out of their minds is also word-for-word to what aired. It ends with Red saying he can't think of any worse punishment than sending Eric to Africa, so guess what pal, he's going to Africa!
Hyde and Leo's next scene about Loud Girl, Chicago, and Leo watching the store for him is also nearly identical. I'm not including screenshots because of the image limit.
Up next, Eric and Kelso at the hospital getting their shots. In the table draft, Red came along with them, too. Well, until he heads across the street to get a beer. πŸ˜‚
Tumblr media
Kelso is extra pervy towards Donna.
I prefer their interaction from the aired episode, where she gives him a painful wedgie when he asks her to help him with his pants. πŸ˜…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eric and Kelso's goodbye moment is similar, but I can see why some of the superfluous lines were cut.
I think it's obvious that the show was acknowledging here that both actors/characters would be leaving in S8.
In the draft, Eric and Donna's goodbye scene is next. It's in his bedroom rather than on top of the Vista Cruiser.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I kind of laughed at Fez realizing he crossed a line and that this is too intimate of a moment for him to witness, but I'm just not a big fan of the Fez-creeping-on-E/D-from-closets joke to begin with so, meh. I feel fine that this was cut.
I do love that among Eric's "bare necessities" for the year away are his GI Joe's and Donna's bra (🀣), and also the stage direction that when they hug, "it's obvious that neither of them wants to let go." πŸ₯ΉπŸ˜
But overall, I prefer the scene that aired in the episode.
The scene in the episode is longer, and includes more sentimentality from Eric (he tells her she's his best friend, and that he loves her so much).
It's interesting that they flipped the line, "I'll be back before you know it, and then we'll have our whole lives to spend together." In the table draft it's Eric who says it, but in the episode it's Donna's line.
And finally, I think thematically it makes more sense for Eric and Donna's last scene on the show (theoretically anyway, we all know that Topher came back for a cameo in the series finale but they probably didn't know that then) to be on the Vista Cruiser. It's a natural bookend to their story; it subtly reminds us how far they've come when they reminisce about having their first kiss.
Eric and Red's scene is next. It's very similar, but with a few different lines.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Donna packing crackers so Eric doesn't get car sick on the way to the airport is sweet/wifey of her, but it is that same ridiculous infantilizing of Eric routine that the writers really leaned into in S7 (and eventually T90S, too). πŸ™„
I liked Red's final line in the actual episode better. "You lose that knife, don't come home," always gets a big laugh from me.
Finally, the goodbye scene on the driveway.
Kitty has, of course, thrown him a going-away party. She has a banner printed, but there's a mix up and it wishes him a "HAPPY RETIREMENT, FRANK!" πŸ˜‚
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Leo's already doing a bang-up job watching the record store for Hyde, *lol*
And there's some more Fez and Charlie interaction, making me wonder - again - how Charlie staying on as a main cast member in season 8 would've changed storylines for Fez, and for everyone else...
Eric and Hyde's scene is very similar, except Eric starts to get sentimental and Hyde immediately shuts it down.
Bob has a surprisingly nice interaction with Eric (before introducing his oompa band). πŸ™„
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kitty's goodbye to Eric is similar - she hugs him and doesn't let go until they have to pull her off of him *lol*
But I missed Eric's line from the episode about, "I'm really only allowed one carry-on." I wonder if it was improvised.
Tumblr media
Just like in the episode, Eric's car won't start and so his friends and family push the Vista Cruiser from the driveway for his series exit. I get by with a little help from my friends, right? πŸ₯Ή
Now, there is one more Very Important scene in this episode: the one with Hyde knocking on Jackie's motel room door in Chicago.
Tumblr media
I hit the image limit for this post so I can't include the last screenshot. But I'll type the last page of the script in case any Zennies wanted to see it:
Hyde: Y'know, okay. (THEN) Is everything alright?
Jackie: Everything's fine. I just didn't expect -
(Kelso enters wearing just a bathrobe and carrying a bucket of ice)
Kelso: I checked and no one can see us doing it from the parking lot.
(Kelso sees Hyde, screams, and throws the bucket of ice in the air. Ice flies everywhere. The moment is frozen until...)
Hyde: You son of a -
(Kelso turns to run out the door. Hyde grabs his robe. As Kelso bolts, Hyde holds onto the robe which peels off Kelso as he disappears out the door)
Kelso (OS): I'm nude!
Fade Out.
It's very similar to what aired, and imo doesn't hold any extra clues as to what Jackie and Kelso did (or planned to do) in the hotel room. The writers left it purposefully vague and open to interpretation.
The tag at the end of the episode is what aired - Kelso running around the parking lot naked, grabbing a fedora to cover his privates, and then running into two attractive women and flirting with them.
Whew, that was a long one! Thanks for reading along with me, @thatseventiesbitch and check out some of the other original That '70s Show scripts I've posted!

Well guys & gals & non-binary pals - it's here. Another installment of That '70s Show original scripts! This week features S6xE20 Squeezebox.
Not a ton of changes from script to episode in this case, but as always, read on for my dutiful summary! (FYI the cast signatures are a re-print - though still cool!) I absolutely love reading through these and noting the different lines - I hope you all enjoy learning these details as much as I do! 😊
Tumblr media
First up: confirmation that the Slurpee Slut's name is Chloe, for the record. It was never mentioned in the episode, though she was listed this way in the credits.
Tumblr media
The first (small) change is Eric's additional line when Donna asks about Chloe/Slurpee Slut in the opening scene: "They're all crazy in that business, it's all that slurping." 🀣
Tumblr media
Next we have an extra dose of "LOL Kitty is an alcoholic!"... sadly a theme this episode.
Tumblr media
There was a longer exchange between Bob/Kitty/Red re: Bob 'welcoming Pam to the house'.
Tumblr media
This extended interaction between Eric and Mitch. Apparently photon torpedos are from Star Trek, not Star Wars.
Also - Mitch bables about disco (??) and Kelso doubles down on his burn after learning what braille is. πŸ™„
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hyde and Red's scenes in the Toyota discussing the Pam situation were pretty much word-for-word, except for this added line from Hyde: "But it's like she's teasing us. It's haunting me, like a sexy, topless ghost."
Tumblr media
This cut Eric/Jackie friendship moment 😩. Well, kinda. *lol*
Tumblr media
More *lolz, alcoholism!* jokes. Kitty's not interested in the cake Pam brings until she learns it's a rum cake.
Tumblr media
This is after its revealed that the guys saw Pam's breasts and Red asks Kitty what she expected him to do: rip the eyes from his head? She says yes, *lol*
Pam's story is slightly different, too. In the episode she says, "This isn't the first time my body has caused a fight. One time I caused a riot on a topless beach in Venezuela. Imagine what you saw, only all tanned and oiled."
Tumblr media
In the episode, the scene ends after the guys walk out. In the script, Kitty and Jackie have the following exchange afterwards:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kitty feeling jealous of Pamela winning her teen son's friends' affection -> πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«
Next up, Mitch originally tells Donna that not only does he think Eric and Chloe had sex, but that they probably had sex on Donna's bed while laughing at her (πŸ™„)
Tumblr media
In the final basement scene, Eric is less offended by Kelso's burn about him and more intrigued by the thought of Donna and Pam hooking up. πŸ˜‚
Tumblr media
I liked Eric's addition here about the time Donna had mono.
Tumblr media
Their final exchange where they make-up is also slightly different from the episode:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And that's all she wrote!
Thanks for reading along with me, your host, @thatseventiesbitch!
Other Scripts I've Posted:

Welcome, That '70s Show fans, to another original script reading! This time we're looking at S4xE2 "Eric's Depression".
Tumblr media
Although right off the bat, I notice that it's listed as episode 3x28 on the script. πŸ‘€ Whether it was originally intended to be part of a super-duper long season 3 or if it was just filmed with that batch of episodes and named accordingly, I'm not sure.
This script, like the last one I posted, belonged to guest star Corey Landis, who plays a young Red Forman.
Tumblr media
The opening scene is largely unchanged, except Red is more critical towards Eric. πŸ₯Ή
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then it cuts to Eric in his bedroom listening to the radio - the same as in the episode.
The guys come to his room to fetch Eric for Funland. Almost identical, only a few different lines.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I like Kelso/Fez's added addition about Eric and Donna's kids inheriting Bob's hair (πŸ˜‚). Leia should be thankful!
The rest of the scene is the same - except as they leave him, Kelso advises Eric to crack a window. He must not have been showering and his depression nest smelled like it.
Next is Eric's scene in the kitchen with Red and Kitty. Only a few slight changes.
Kitty advises Eric to "get out there an expose himself to some new gals" and Red makes a joke about flashing. πŸ˜‚
Tumblr media
Like in the episode, Eric is reminded of Donna everywhere and even sees her name spelled out in his alpha-bits. His line "Who am I kidding - I can't eat" was cut from the actual episode, though. My boy is in pain. πŸ₯Ή
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cut to Funland. Jackie, Fez, Hyde, and Kelso arrive and the dialogue is mostly the same. Except Hyde and Fez argue about rather Woofy is a real dog or not (🀣) and Hyde remarks that they should have brought Kelso's leash.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back to the Forman house. Red and Kitty's dialogue about Archie Wilkins is a little different. Kitty claims her nickname was "Heartbreak Kitty" πŸ˜‚πŸ€£. Red is over it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And another quip about how Eric/his room smell. Red asks what died in there and Eric says "my soul" 😭😩😞.
Then the story about One Foot (lol) and Red orders him to trim the hedges.
And we're back to Funland. Fez's interaction with the mime goes on a little longer than in the episode. I didn't include it due to the image limit on the post.
Then Fez and Hyde have their conversation about Fun University/FU.
Jackie's the only one who seems concerned about Kelso.
Tumblr media
Now, the Eric/Red and Donna/Bob scene is where the script really starts to deviate from what aired.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the episode, Eric is lamenting to Red here about how he thought they were in love and then it all just blew apart, leaving a big hole. Red is less than empathetic.
In the script, Eric just wants his dad to leave him alone.
Bob is a lot more empathetic towards Donna in the scene that actually aired.
Eric and Donna see each other for the first time but interestingly, have a very different interaction. Neither of them knows what to say. In the episode, they both double down on their positions and have a shouting match ("I'm not wrong!" / "You are wrong, you dillhole!" / Dillhole, real mature. Double dillhole!")
In the episode they cut back to Funland at this point, but in the script...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eric and Donna both fantasize about their previous scene where they ran into each other going differently!
First - I was cheated out of *another* Eric and Donna make-out (🀬). It's also fascinating how the separate scenes give us insight into Eric and Donna's different mindsets post-break-up.
Eric wants to be *right*. His pride is wounded. He implies that he thinks Donna's mindset is selfish. His fantasy quells his self-conscious thoughts - his worries that he loves Donna more than she loves him.
Donna, on the other hand, is *pissed*. She fantasizes about slapping Eric and sitting on his chest like when they were kids. She wants to cause him pain - because he's caused her pain. She never wanted to break up. Her fantasy is that Eric backs off of his need to plan out their every move in the future, his need for total commitment from her, and instead supports her in whatever she wants to do whether that is travel, writing, pursuing a career.
*Now* we go back to Funland.
No large changes, but Hyde rode the Cyclone seven times and Fez threw up *lol*. And Jackie wants to discuss a "career in theatre" with the Funland princess?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The scene in the lost and found with Bobby and Billy (Dylan and Cole Sprouse) and Kelso is the same.
At the Forman house, Red and Eric return from work. Some small, but notable differences in this scene.
In the script, Eric explicitly tells Red he doesn't want a new girlfriend, and that he doesn't want to talk about other girls because it just reminds him he's not with Donna. Red, frustrated, says that *breathing* reminds him he's not with Donna. 😩
I also lol'ed when Eric offered Red his sandwich and Red goes ahead and takes it, only for Kitty to intervene. And Eric's "God, she's everywhere!" 😭
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The scene that features Young Red is different, too! In the episode, he cries out the name *Eloise* here...
Tumblr media
The final scene at Funland is similar. The gang hasn't found Kelso yet but it's closing time. Woofy is a creep who hits on Jackie, and Hyde scares him off.
Jackie insists she's not leaving without Michael, but very quickly changes her tune. *lol*
Tumblr media
At this point there's a scene of Kelso being driven home by Mr. and Mrs. Anderson - the twins' mom. It was the credit window in the episode that aired. It's pretty much what aired - the boys are calling Kelso 'Einstein' mockingly and spit on his ice cream, and when Kelso gets upset and acts like he's going to spit at one of the boys, the mom stops the car and kicks him out. I'm not including screen shots due to image limits on this post.
Then we cut to the bar scene. Red has taken Eric for a beer. And we end up learning about Eloise Steich, after all!
At the end of the scene, Donna and Bob walk in. Bob has had the same idea as Red and brought her to have a beer. Bob and Red see each other but Eric and Donna don't. I thought this was kind of funny.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After Donna and Bob walk out, Red asks Eric if he can stop being nice to Bob now that Eric's not with Donna anymore. Eric says - "You were being nice to him?" Red agrees - "Yeah. No, you got me." πŸ˜‚
The originally scripted tag has Fez trying cotton candy (he’s amazed, lol) and then the gang see Kelso hitchhiking after being kicked out of the car by the Anderson’s.
And that's all for this one! Thanks for reading along with me, your host, @thatseventiesbitch! This might be the last one for awhile (🀰) but we’ll see!

Note
How do you know so much about t7s and have these old scripts? Did you work on the show?
Thanks for the ask!
No, I didn’t work on the show in any capacity. I’m just a lifelong fan! ☺️
Honestly - I have seen every episode dozens upon dozens of times, and have been writing T70S fanfic since I was a middle schooler, so this show and its characters are as familiar to me as old friends.
As for the scripts: those can be purchased online, and I’ve got quite a collection now. It’s pretty much the only way to still get β€˜new’ content about the show - I enjoy seeing the alternate dialogue, etc. It takes some patience and haggling, though. In my experience a lot of sellers charge far too high of prices that I’m not willing to pay. If you’re patient and persistent though, there are good deals to be had sometimes on eBay.

A while ago I found a good deal on some That '70s Show scripts online, and I bought them! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading them cover to cover, and noticing all the little differences between what was originally printed and what made it to screen. It is my pleasure to compile and share those differences with you all on my blog.
This week's script is S5xE21 "Trampled Under Foot"
Tumblr media
There are not very many deviations in this episode, but as always, your detail-oriented *cough* obsessive *cough* reviewer noticed a few! Including one moment for the Zennies aka Jackie/Hyde 'shippers! See below for the breakdown.
The first change is this cut Donna-and-Fez interaction from the end of the scene where Fez tells his friends about he and Nina's conversation, and they inform him that she's actually dumping him.
Tumblr media
Next is this missing Jackie/Hyde moment, when the gang is in the kitchen talking to Red and Kitty about adding a new friend to hang out with:
Tumblr media
Some more context on the Fez-calling-Eric-at-3am-to-make-sure-they're-still-friends-thing:
Tumblr media
(During the Six Million Dollar Man fantasy sequence, at the end when Eric/Hyde/Kelso all shake hands and say 'Doctor'/'Doctor'/'Whoa, Doctor' - that wasn't scripted. The actors might've improvised that particular bit, or it was added later. It's very funny.)
Also note, Eric's dialogue 'Fez, you do need pants' is different/added. As is Donna's line.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lance is extra creepy with his Donna obsession in the original draft of the script:
Tumblr media
Eric's excited ramble about Jake! Bradley! is a little different:
Tumblr media
Kitty gave Lance the wrong ingredients for the stuffing recipe. 🀣 Also, again, Lance's Donna obsession:
Tumblr media
And, Eric is bitter about Jake Bradley in the final circle. 🀣
Tumblr media
That's all for this one! Thanks for reading with me, your host, @thatseventiesbitch 😊

Welcome back to another installment of That '70s Show original scripts - this time we're looking at S2xE23 "Holy Crap!"
Special shoutout to my hubby, who put this in my stocking for Christmas 😘 (The cast signatures are a reprint, but still very cool!!) There were not a ton of changes to this episode, but as always, read on for my summary.
Tumblr media
The first change is this cut line from Eric after Red's story about his destroyer going down during the war. Eric (feebly) starts a comeback, but decides against it. 🀣
Tumblr media
The next cut moment is Eric talking to God on the driveway when he and Laurie decide to ditch church. Also: πŸ˜‚
Tumblr media
The dialogue between the guys in the next scene at The Hub is slightly different, though the scene ends up in the same place:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The ending of this scene is different. After Kitty tells them "if you want to spend eternity doing laps in a lake of fire, that's your choice!", Red tells the kids their mother is right. And that they should sit down and watch the Brewers game and think about it. πŸ˜‚
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are two small changes in this scene: Eric's cut line - "Hey, you're both right" - and Donna calling Kelso 'Michael' πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This cut line was funny - after Hyde's eloquent rant about his views on organized religion and why he doesn't participate/attend church, Eric says, "Yeah, that's what I meant. That and the tie thing."
Tumblr media
There is this cut (mini) Eric/Donna moment: Bob thinks Eric should be at church, confessing to his dirty, dirty sins. πŸ˜‚ His comment annoys Donna.
Tumblr media
And this one, too! Donna says 'hi' to Eric when they get to heaven πŸ˜‚πŸ₯°
Tumblr media
Red and Kitty's conversation here is a little different. Kitty says Eric is 'living like a rock star' because he's sleeping with the next door neighbor and not going to church *lmao*. Red seems to disagree - he has a cut line about Eric being seventeen, and starting to make his own decisions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the Circle, Eric continues to freak out/disassociate. 🀣
Tumblr media
Then there's this cut moment between Donna and Jackie πŸ‘€
Jackie makes it clear she's not taking/hearing Donna's well-intentioned advice to avoid Kelso after he's cheated on her, and claims "now she has to go sleep with him". Donna calls her "dumb - and not regular dumb, like cheerleader dumb".
(I'm personally glad this exchange was cut. Both the Jackie sleeping with Kelso line, and Donna's comment - although I can understand her frustration!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally, there are two short cut scenes at the end.
In the episode, the last scene is in the Forman living room. Kitty excitedly yells, "Ha! C'mon everybody, the Formans are going to church!"
In the script, the next scene cuts to the Formans and Pinciottis in church, presumably right after that.
Tumblr media
Then there's this cut Leo/Pastor Dave duet, which was supposed to be the credits scene.
I feel robbed!!! I want to see these two characters singing Godspell, damnit! πŸ€£πŸ˜‚
Tumblr media
That's all she wrote, folks! Thanks for reading along for another one with me, your host, @thatseventiesbitch 😊

A while ago I found a good deal on some That '70s Show scripts, and I impulsively bought them! See below for a detailed breakdown of what is different between the table read script and what actually aired.
Tumblr media
Next up: S2xE22 "Jackie Moves On" (note that it is episode 221 on the script πŸ‘€... production order vs airing order). There were a lot of changes/re-writes in this episode! See below for details.
Tumblr media
The Production Schedule for the week:
Tumblr media
(Just thought this ^ was fascinating!)
First difference: the entire cold open! I wonder why it was re-written. 🧐
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the episode that aired, the cold open starts with Eric and Donna entering the basement together, and the rest of the gang (except Jackie) is already there. They jump into the same conversation about how Jackie isn't doing well, but with different dialogue.
The scenes are extremely similar and end up in the same place - with Fez's ninja warrior fantasy. The Eric/Donna fan in me loves the little moment between them that's written here & wishes it stayed, though! Eric loves the way Donna smells after a bath, *lol*. (This is a continued characterization! He made similar comments to her in That Disco Episode in season 1...)
The next scene, in the Forman kitchen, is slightly different too. Eric and Laurie's banter is different:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the kids discuss what they will do for dinner that night while Red and Kitty are at Frenchie's. Red's mom's necklace isn't brought up at all in this scene (unlike in the actual episode)! He just mentions breaking out the nice jewelry.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Red & Kitty's next scene, when they head out to dinner, is different. I like Red's little fantasy at the beginning, where he seems to be talking to himself in the mirror and imagining how their evening out will go. 🀣
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hyde and Laurie's next scene is slightly different, too. It's not pictured here, I'm just going to summarize it. Hyde remarks that his dinner of frank and beans was good and hearty, but that Laurie only ate a few bites of toast and some water. They exchange slightly different burns, but it leads to the same moment: Eric coming in and Hyde and Laurie teaming up to burn him.
Next up is Fez's scene in the restaurant with Jackie (also different!). Here are the changed parts:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next scene (not pictured), with the 4 guys in the basement, is slightly different as well but wasn't noteworthy enough to screenshot. The scene ended up in the same place - Eric inadvertently reveals his childhood summer camp nickname (Dr. Pee Pee) and when Kelso burns him, he reveals Kelso's (Big Chief Brown Bottom). πŸ˜†
Red and Kitty's next scene (not pictured) is pretty similar: they're back from dinner but Kitty is upset Red keeps bringing up his mother's necklace (they call it a turtle pendant in this draft of the script). She eventually reveals she pawned it, and she doesn't feel bad because she used it for groceries. Red exits and she immediately tells Eric she actually feels very bad. Eric asks if she had a lot of wine at dinner and she says more than she should've, *lol*.
Jackie and Donna's scene on the front porch is almost identical - including Jackie's fantasy about turning into the blueberry girl from Charlie And The Chocolate Factory - until this part:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next scene is with the guys & Laurie in the basement - again, very similar, but some slight changes. I laughed out loud at a few of these cut lines!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Red & Kitty's last scene (not pictured) is very similar to the final version. Kitty apologizes to him, Red forgives her, and they both discuss how they did what they had to do to make ends meet as a family but that thankfully things are much better now. The scene ends with them deciding to go back to the pawn shop and reclaim their stuff *lol*
The final scene with the gang on the driveway is again different! Jackie shows up and she's back to her normal self, but she doesn't pull Fez aside for their little chat. There's also another cut Eric/Donna moment 😭 And a little Jackie/Hyde/(Kelso) one, methinks πŸ‘€
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The credits are the same - Eric is napping on the couch and Laurie puts his hand in warm water and says "Sweet dreams, Dr. Pee Pee."
So, in conclusion - almost every scene in this table read draft script was different from what actually aired in the episode. The general spirit of the scene was always the same, but a lot of lines were changed from this script to what ultimately aired. I wonder why that was! And I wonder how that worked, logistically. It appears they did the Table Read on Monday and shot the episode on Friday (some scenes earlier, actually, because of pre-shoots). That's not a lot of time for the cast to re-learn all of their lines! Show biz, baby.

A few weeks ago I found a good deal on some That '70s Show scripts, and I impulsively bought them!
Unsurprisingly, the show follows the script pretty much to a tee - but there are a few exceptions where the actor delivers the line differently in the episode, or the scene/dialogue is cut from the episode altogether. That is the stuff I wanted to see, and now I'll share it with you all!
Tumblr media
First up: S2xE20 "Kiss of Death" (Note that it is episode 219 on the script πŸ‘€... production order vs airing order)
Tumblr media
The first deviation is in the scene where Eric brings Donna the replacement kitten (*lol*). From the end of the scene:
Tumblr media
(In the episode, it cuts off after Midge says "What did he ever do to you?" This adds some new information: The Pinciottis did not keep the kitten Eric brought for Donna. Makes sense. Donna never mentions a pet/cat again after this episode.)
Eric and Kelso have a cut scene:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(In the show, it cuts off after Eric says/yells "I know!" This adds some new information as well - the idea to be honest with Jackie and apologize came from Eric.)
Another difference: Fez worries about being allowed back in the basement after he inadvertently makes an inappropriate comment to Kitty when he wakes up from his surgery:
Tumblr media
And finally, Midge's parting comment about the Mr. Bonker's Memorial Slideshow (πŸ˜‚):
Tumblr media
Everything else was virtually identical. 😊
I do wonder about why these bits were cut. I would have liked to see them all! Was it because the episode was too long/for runtime? Or were there other reasons?
