When i watched this episode at 5 in the morning of dec 19th, i did not expect the fandom to be so split about this episode. Viewers are free to interpret things however they like but this was one of my favorite s7 episodes (ruthari reunion episode being top of course). Each of the main trio are written to be people, not perfect.

Rayllum head canon: you know how most women (completely reasonably) exaggerate pregnancy symptoms to get out of doing stuff? With rayllum it's the opposite. Callum exaggerates her symptoms in order to have Even More excuses to dote on her.

thinking about callum completing the ritual and them going back to their room and then rayla falling asleep for who knows how long all while thinking about how much he loves her, which like, yeah he's known that the whole time and has been accepting of that fact for weeks but now there's also the fact that he just kissed(?) a beautiful angelic constellation version of her (so not that different really) and is now overcome by the fact that she's fucking gorgeous, now hit with how badly he wants to spend the rest of his life with her, now concocting a way to kiss her again in a cute kind of apologetic fashion that he knows will make her feel good. giggling and kicking my feet

Callum hung in the doorway of Ethari’s forge. The heat was oppressive, even from this distance, and not for the first time, he wondered how Ethari could possibly stand it.

Taking a deep breath, he stepped into the dark room.

He needed to brave the heat and more importantly, the awkwardness, if he was going to get this sorted. Rayla and Runaan were at the market, but Runaan was a frighteningly efficient shopper, so it wasn’t likely that he’d have much time to talk with Ethari.

“Eh, hi,” he called out, just as Ethari swung his hammer, drowning out Callum’s voice.

“Hello?”

Another hammer blow.

“ETHARI?!”

I'm really cracking up about what future history textbooks will say about Rayla in the two year time skip in a couple hundred years.

The strangest thing, though - the strangest thing by far - was his son. Harrow turned his head to look properly at Callum, the young man standing beside him and yapping about something probably to do with his wife - the fact that he had a wife was still something Harrow was having trouble processing - and was once again hit by an intense wave of complicated emotions he was far too tired to try and unpack now.
