I'm having . . . INTENSE Papa!Diluc feelings because of @gunnhildred . The point in his life where he can finally let go of the past and accept that he DOES deserve a good, happy future, and it's what Crepus ( and his long departed mother ) would have wanted for him. He and Jean, for sure, used to play ' House ' or ' Family ' or some iteration of adult life together, but even beyond their childish fantasies, Jean has always just felt . . . RIGHT to him.

Obviously, he'll open up to the idea of a family with others in due time, but Jean has kind of . . . always been his idea of ' forever. ' His best friend, one of his biggest role models, and his biggest means of support. She, alongside Kaeya, is the most important person in his life, so the idea of getting to build something with her on that grand a scale is very personal and intimate. A little ' baby strawberry, ' as Phoe puts it, that makes him soften and melt everytime he comes home and greets that bright eyed, freckle cheeked face, and makes him appreciate this life that he has, alongside her.

It's enough to make him hang up the dangerous night life and settle down. If nothing else, that will, and I want that for him so badly.

So I hope you know that means you're staying right here on my lap; no objections." He chortles, now placing soft kisses to his lips, as a hand reaches up to comb through his hair.
