But, after months of hiding, I ran into you at a dive bar deep in the city of Miami and suddenly my forever was you. You were in your buzzcut phase and I had just bleached my hair. You recognized me, of course. We'd met a couple of times and I'd always thought kindly of you. We started to talk and hours passed without us even noticing. I'm not sure where your friends had gone but looking back at it now, I'm glad they left because I can't imagine the conversation we had being joined by other people. It was already vaguely awkward enough.

I wasn't exactly lighting up the room that night. It had been a rough couple of months and I'd only gone out in hopes of finding a sliver of happiness. Thank god I did because it brought me to now, where I'm the happiest I've ever been. It brought me to you.

OK FAGGOTS WHO WANTS TO HEAR ABOUT MY GREEN DAY SHOWWWWW

y’all better buckle up cuz this is a long one.

saw them last night in minneapolis (where i’m from) at target field (baseball stadium). my friend and i had VIP PIT TICKETS which ostensibly meant we needed to get there early as shit and wait in line for hours (which we did)

doors opened at 5:30 and the show started at 7:30

my friend and i get there at 11am to wait in line and we were among the first fucking people there (with us was a girl dressed like 2004 billie and she got pulled on stage to meet him and sing know your enemy and i was SO JEALOUS). we also make friends with two other gays who help keep our spots in line and at the barricade 🥹

we wait in line for 5 hours and already my feet are starting to hurt but we press on and rush downstairs to the field and get to the fucking barricade!!!!!!!!

they had three (3) openers which were the linda lindas, rancid and the smashing pumpkins (!!!!!!!!) and my friend and i take turns sitting and squatting to help the immense back pain building up

FINALLY AFTER HOURS OF WAITING GREEN DAY COMES OUT AND THEY OPEN WITH AMERICAN DREAM

they played dookie, know your enemy, look ma no brains, one eyed bastard, dilemma, MINORITY and brain stew and then transitioned into american idiot

i was so close to billie and it was fucking insane. i don’t have words. he looked at me and i almost peed my pants

the encore was bobby sox before they closed with good riddance and billie said “encores are for arrogant people”

monsieur tré cool walked out and threw all of his used drumsticks from the show out into the crowd and i CAUGHT ONE but wrested briefly with someone for it before they let it go

we hugged all the nice people we met in line and slowly made our way out and back home and ordered Taco Bell at midnight (which let me fucking tell you. that shit fucks)

my feet and back have never hurt so much in my life and at one point i crawled on the floor to my bathroom to get some advil for the pain before collapsing into bed……..

and let me tell you………

i waited 10 months for this night and it did not disappoint at all. i love this band so fucking much. they keep changing my life for the better and i’ve never been more proud to love a band the way i love green day. this was truly one of the best nights of my life.

As you get older you learn you can't take back your words or your actions. You learn it's important to be careful what you say or how you act when you're angry in the moment. Hurtful words can't be taken back, and actions can't be reversed.

Zoe decided to learn that the hard way.

"He SQUEEZED my ARM" Zoe yelled dramatically, as she took a sip of her 3rd... or 5th? tequila soda.

Upon Cillian leaving, Zoe called her best friend, Dana, and invited her over. Dana brought over tequila. After 2 drinks, Zoe told Dana everything. EVERYTHING. Dana now knew the arrangement; everything she wasn't supposed to know. Zoe knew she shouldn't have told her. She knew the implications and how difficult this could make things if Dana told people.

But drunk Zoe didn't care. Drunk Zoe was angry and had enough.

"That's the reaction my dad gave me when my dog died" Dana said, laying on the couch with her drink on her chest. "Hey, can you turn that fan off? the spinning is making me nauseous"

Zoe looked at the fan in the corner, unplugged. "It's not on"

"oh fuck" Dana said, covering her eyes. "I think we drank too much"

"Who cares, LOOK AT MY LIFE" Zoe yelled, motioning to the window where the paparazzi once stood to get pictures of her and Cillian. "Where are they now? do you think they're out there?" She said, stumbling back towards Dana on the couch who was now sitting up.

"sssssswhat are you gonna do, I still can't believe you're not getting paid for this" Dana replied, pausing in the middle of the sentence to hiccup.

Zoe downed the rest of her drink in one gulp and slammed the glass down on the coffee table. "Fuck it. Fuck him. He should be lucky - LUCKY i agreed to this"

"You tried so hard to make it work and feel real. You even started a show with him"

"I STARTED A SHOWWWWW WITH HIM!!!!!" Zoe yelled back. "THAT'S COMMITMENT!!!!!"

"You wanna go out? lets go outttt I wanna go out" Dana said standing up, wobbling towards the front door.

"No I wanna stay here, I don't wanna put on real clothes" Zoe said, pouting.

"Then lets have fun already and stop complaining about men they all suck" Dana said, climbing on top of the coffee table. Zoe climbed on after her with the tequila bottle in her hand. She took a swig of it and passed it to Dana. "To girls with good friends"

Dana grabbed the bottle and took a swig as well. After swallowing and cringing, she added "and to girls who aren't scared of breaking NDA's"

An hour later, the girls were dancing around the living room to Spite by Charlotte Sands. The music was blaring and the windows were opened. The downstairs neighbor was hitting the ceiling with a broomstick, annoyed with the noise at such a late hour. The girls didn't hear the bangs, they carried on with their dancing and singing.

They eventually (unfortunately) made their way out of apartment, stumbling down the street to the dive bar on the corner.

They spilled into the door, laughing and holding onto one another.

They were blackout at this point; they've become the group of girls that are so drunk you would roll your eyes at them and stay far away. "They're obnoxious, so sloppy" you would tell your friends, giving them dirty looks. "Hate to be the person who has to deal with getting them home"

and boy, would you be right.

Zoe, finding her liquid courage and sassiness on a high level, took out her phone and decided to facetime Cillian. It was 2:40am, the bar was calling last call, people were staring to head home, but not Zoe. She wanted to stir the pot.

After about 5 rings, he answered. "Why... hello?" He said, visibly rubbing his eyes. He was in bed, confused why she was facetiming him at such an hour.

"Yea I just wanted to let you know that i'm done" Zoe said loudly, holding the phone too close to her face.

"Done with what - where are you?" He said, squinting.

"I'm done with this pretending thing we're doing, Cillian" Zoe said louder.

"SHHHHH Stop yelling! where are you? are you okay? who are you with?" Cillian said, sitting up.

"I'm with Dana. She's my best friend. She has black hair. And green eyes. and looooooooves Adele and one time, she peed her pants on her way home from work. But you wouldn't know that because you're a BAD. FAKE. BOYFRIEND" Zoe continued. "See, SHEEEEE came with me to the dive bar on the corner by my house you didn't want to go to - you wanna say hi, DANA COME HERE" She yelled off camera.

"Zoe NO. STOP" Cillian said, frustrated. He got out of bed and pulled on sweatpants. "Don't move. Do you hear me? Don't leave." He said, hanging up the phone.

"Here she is - ugh, he hung up, HE'S SO RUDE" Zoe said, completely not hearing anything Cillian said. She had Dana next to her with a round of drinks. They were the last ones in the bar, and the bartenders were starting to wipe down the bar and clean up for the night.

"You shouldn't be with a man who hangs up on you, it's 2024 we want better for ourselves, women's rights" Dana slurred, not making any sense. The bartenders listened from afar, making eyes with the security guards by the door. They were tiny girls, they didn't think they would cause a problem, but they were extra aware of them and how drunk they were.

About 15 minutes later, security escorted them out of the bar. They were now sitting on the curb, leaning on each other and trying to find the strength to stand up.

"Hey I don't feel good" Dana said, closing her eyes. "Call me an uber?" She said, handing Zoe her phone.

"Just sleep by me" Zoe said, standing up trying t pull up her friend. She paused when headlights appeared to her right, shining in her eyes when she turned her head to look. It looked like the car was coming right at her. It slowed to a stop closely to her, and heard the back door open as well as the front passenger window come down.

Suddenly, in front of her, Cillian appeared... looking angry. He was in sweatpants, slides, and a hoodie with the hood pulled up. He walked over to her, forcing a grin on his face but his eyes said otherwise.

"Hi baby" He choked out. Zoe stared at him, speechless.

"I came to get you" he said, putting his hands on her hips and squeezing. He stared her down, nostrils flaring and jaw clenched. If looks could kill, Zoe would be in trouble.

He was full on glaring at her at this point, and unfortunately for Zoe she was starting to see two of him.

"let's get you back to my house... now."

Random Heartstopper Rewatch Fun! Episode 2: Crush

This will be a lot like my last post over the first episode so buckle up and on we go!!!

Okay so first off Charlie is adorable and awesome and I LOVE HIM. He can play the drums so well too which is EPIC!!! Anyways I love the way that Nick is like stalking his insta right now and like getting an even better feeling fur the type of person Charlie is! Also yay fur another cat purrson!!!

Kit's acting skills are on POINT and just fucking amazing! That picture where he thinks about how it must have been fur Charlie to be bullied in the corridors and such and the way that he is tearing up just gets me! Also they are adorable and I just really relate to constantly having to retype certain messages a million times XD

Darcy has NO FILTER!!! Oh my goodness she makes me cackle so much! "Tara says you have no friends" also Tara's reactions to her words are always so fucking priceless to me. Darcy and Tara are purrfection together and I just really love their vibe and energy! They are so fun and great friends for Elle!

Nellie is adorable af and I love her! I also love how Nick is like showing off pictures of her to Charlie! Side note here, who hates animals so much that your kids can't have one?? Like even a little one or one that like has an enclosure or tank etc. That just bothers me is all anyways… Can we talk about how nonchalantly Nick invites over the OPENLY GAY kid!!!!!!!!! Like everyone thinks Nick is straight, he has some unfortunately homophobic people in his year and yet he is still just a great guy who wants to hang out with someone he really enjoys spending time with and doesn't seem to find it weird or anything. Just well clearly you have to come meet my dog then, obviously.

I swear you can see Charlie just light up when the idea of going to Nick's is mentioned and Idk I feel like (granted I was never really allowed out my house like ever) but going over to a friend's house is like a sign that you are close? So it's definitely not helping Charlie's intense crush on Nick but it makes him happy and he is starting to wonder if maybe there is something there? Or at least if he can spend even more time with his incredible and attractive new best friend. lol

The HAIR conversation with Tori just really sets up the whole adorableness with NICK in a few minutes and I FUCKING love it!!! Also Tori randomly appearing all the time is great and I am so glad I am not the only person who gets surprised all the fucking time by quite walkers. Charlie asking about his hair and Tori just insisting it LOOKS THE SAME is greatness and Charlie is just like why did I even ask you again? Clearly he is a little nervous and it's adorable and yeah I just love Charlie! They have a fun and yet very caring sibling relationship and I enjoy it! Nick being nervous about ringing that doorbell is precious and I am so glad he rang it!

The way that Nick and Charlie smile at each other whenever they first see each other is priceless and it makes my little shipper heart so fucking happy!!!!! Nellie is precious and adorable and I love how Charlie is like yep well I am gonna pet this doggo right now.

It takes Nick less than a MINUTE to realize Charlie got a haircut. I live with my partner and sometimes it takes me HOURS to realize that shit lol So yeah ummmm you are paying a LOT of attention to Charlie there Nick…just saying. And he just like immediately starts playing with it!!! AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Squeeeeee!!! I LOVE IT! THE PARALLEL BETWEEN JIN LING BEING A LIFELINE FOR JIANG CHENG AND A-YUAN FOR LAN WANGJI AFTER THE BATTLE AT THE NIGHTLESS CITY

and like . the fact! that lwj and jc dislike each other!!. jc projects blame onto him for wwx both “leaving” him and indirectly causing their families deaths and when hes so consumed by it he makes wwx an enemy, lwj is there now? trying to protect him?? and lwj, who can never understand the pain that wwx , indirectly or not put jc through, but who was right there when jc tried to kill him and will never allow him to hurt wwx again. and how they like. in a way project blame of their tragedies onto each other while dealing with some type of survivor guilt and in their own way still loving wwx through it all???  amd in way its kind of fundamentally selfish but also tragically understandable? and like when u put it against the fact that after he disappears during the sunshot campaign they were looking for him together and fought together??

JUST. THE CHARACTERS. AND THE RELATIONSHIPS IN THIS. MAN. UGH. GOD. 

and like i think thats what makes it so good? its such a sad and painful and violent story, edgy even, but its compelling bc at the center of it there are all of these relationships and different types of love and hope and. :( i love it

Hope for the future

Omg Endeavour though. What a showwwww

Right?! It’s so incredibly layered! Like, all the writing is so very sparse, so very dignified and stiff upper lip don’t talk about anything outright, but the characters blossom as much under what isn’t said as what is said. We’ve had 26 one-and-a-half hour episodes but so much is woven in despite the case-of-the-week also taking up a lot of time. 

For example, I was really surprised how much I enjoy Bright’s character once they start giving him one, the way he’s very much “keep calm and Carry on”, yet there’s still a person behind the uniform and the title, and he has quite a responsibility to carry. The way he keeps his dignity and calm despite everything happening to him in the last season is really beautiful.

so one of the characters sneaking up on me this time is Prince Ji -- I love him, I love how his mentor/friendship with Yujin can go from hedonistic to serious in a flash, and the way he feels genuinely compelled by fealty to the truth to set his brother straight.

So I said I wasn't going to comment on costumes again but Yujin is very natty here, look at the way the cross-closure of his cloak is picked up in the hem of his tunic, also I feel like I'm running the risk of turning into a Yujin appreciation blog but I am really ok with that

Troll!MCS again: “Is this pill bitter?”  ah -- the whole bit with the berry, earlier, is to let us know that he knew about and was prepared for the Wujin pill.

Yes, he knows. Xuanjing bureau has always had the pill.

...okay you know the mystery series I keep mentioning, suddenly I want all of that squared, mostly because I want Xia Dong to be utterly amazing in it, ahh, her moral clarity

Oh, oh, when it's Meng who steps forward to say, “it's ok to talk honestly” Xia Dong talks.  Here is where she makes her choice.

She is SO SmART look at her deflect from the tricky issue of Wei Zheng's whereabouts, spike suspicions about the pro-Jing conspiracy, and turn things back on Xia Jiang all in one precisely calibrated breath, I love her

Look at those stray temple hairs coming out of MCS' hairdo, oh the hardships he has suffered. 

A plot to frame a Prince and deceive an emperor, oh, there are no parallels there, are there?  It is so satisfying to take Xia Jiang down with his true crimes in false circumstances.

I WAS JUST THINKING it's been a long time since we'd seen Shen Zhui and Cai Quan, the pacing on this show.  (Ed. note: I am also wondering: where is Nihuang but)  In case we had forgotten, in the face of all the high wire maneuvering, what all of this was for, in the end: against police brutality. Against the abuse of power. Against the careless, contemptuous disposal of lives.

god tHAT IS WHY the interrogation scene ends with Xia Dong's long silent eye contact with MCS -- disheveled MCS and his helpless, rueful half smile -- all MCS is really doing, after all, is playing for time. There is nothing he needs from Xia Jiang except to keep Xia Jiang from outright killing him until the plots he set in motion outside the bureau bear fruit. But the real point, the true moral upshot of all this sparring, the thing that actually means something -- it's Xia Dong. That she sees clearly the moral rot, and renounces it.

Ah -- and a scene later we get Jingyan saying that father can tolerate Xuanjing Bureau's various nefarious methods, how many haha no reallys did they trade over case reports, I feel sick
