but anyways for real like the themes, the themes.....you’ve already got the mccutter kids getting to really see the outside world for the first time vs their usual population < 800 small isolated arkansas town in which they are further isolated by being homeschooled with their only family being each other and their mom who is all intense trying to keep them on the straight and narrow and with that evangelical approach where it’s all very “don’t question the rules and definitely don’t disobey because then you go to hell and stuff” and telling them whatever stuff and saying it’s in the bible and they do apparently know that Being Gay exists but presumably they would not think they can be that.......and then yeah the outside world for the first time (even that line in that one song abt maggie having seen boys holding hands in a waffle house lmao like! foreshadowing, then. and the airborne gayness) and the fact that this whole thing is a very fleeting opportunity, not only to like, have other experiences with other people in the several days that this whole event must be spanning at the most, but also how it feels important to win for the college scholarships so that the mccutter kidz (or, well, maggie at least b/c main character singing about this stuff) can like, go to college, b/c they’re poor and in the middle of nowhere, and get to go be less poor and not stuck in the middle of nowhere.......the intensity that would be Gay Realizations when on the one hand you can have a crisis about that b/c hell and the on the other hand even if you accept it like, you could lose this quiz bowl and be stuck in your tiny isolated arkansas town, and tbh even if you win i figure they still have to go back to their tiny isolated arkansas town for a while and aren’t just immediately jumping on a plane for college......it has such power like. my god the drama

Especially if the masa is soft and moist where it melts on yiur tongue because of the manteca t bh?? They can be spicy if you make them. Some people like them cooked with jalepenos so that makes them spicy. But made normally, they arent. Theyre like a roast meat taste with the masa bread(whatever youd call it in english) making it so much better.. im passionate about tamales... @ my other latinx buddies.. describe ur favr tamale .
