Saw a post that reminded me that I really like making AUs where characters are trans, but it’s not the major part of the AU. Like I’ve read AUs that are dedicated to the character being trans and like. I will say I think it was written well, and I don’t mind there being a focus on that, but having to hear about a character’s struggle with their identity isn’t as appealing to me. 

I got my like, mass of JoJo AUs where Dio is trans, and to some extent it’s important to the plot and character development sometimes, but that’s never the main problem and generally characters don’t really care. Sometimes you want some dude w spark powers who happens to be trans trying to raise a kid and also deal w his depressed vampire bro and not a story with a heavy focus on like. Figuring stuff out and maybe dealing with dysphoria.
