And and imagine this takemichi witnessing hinata in a whole ass different personality during the meeting like+?!? Description: Takemichi starts to worry that he'll spend so long trying to save Hina that he'll forget why he started in the first place.

The future is uncertain, even to Takemichi, and it scares him. It scares him that everytime he goes to the future he might find her dead again, or worse, relive her death. How long will it take him to save her? How many times will he watch her die? Will he start to forget why he’s doing this?

Takemichi looks over just as Hinata looks up from her food. She smiles and giggles, and his face flushes as he realizes he’s been caught, but he can’t look away. He’d forgotten her face once, her smile, her laugh. What if next time he forgot how he felt? Why he was here, again, trying to change the future.

In the back of his mind, his brain merges the Hina infront of him with the dying woman he was trying to save. The joyful, loving smile on her face was overlaid with exhaustion and pain as the yellow school lights turned a fiery orange. He squeezed his eyes shut and took a deep breath.

“Hey, are you okay?” Hina asked, hand gently settling on his arm as she reached out.

His eyes felt wet when they opened, and he looked down at her hand on his arm as he nodded on instinct. He probably wasn’t okay, but his body moved on its own before he could really decide.

“Ya, I’m fine.”

He would have died in her place that night, he would have- No, he promised, he would love her all his life, no matter what. The future was so cold without her, but this– here, now– this is what dreams should always be. This is what he was fighting for, because all the best of what they’d done had yet to come.

“I’m fine.”
