Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 Amiright

College au is so unexpectedly great! Do people know that a monster is responsible for the murders? If so does that put a rift in btwn monsters and humans (y/n and dogday)?

there's plenty of debate on the news. some say that only a human would kill this many monsters because of prejudice. others say that only another monster is capable of killing monsters in a fashion as gruesome as the murders, and they'd have the prejudice-induced rage in them to kill the human victims as well.

the crime scenes are too immaculate to tell for sure. just an evicerated body (and sometimes no body at all); no hair or fur or footprints, nothing that could logically incriminate anyone...

it's almost supernatural. the police have nothing. nothing but rumors of cult activity and a few offhanded, vague accounts of what the killer might look like. but the witnesses are oddly never sure of what they saw. a tall, shadowy figure, who may or may not have a long tail. there's nothing concrete, and the cops can't jump to conclusions; tensions between humans and monsters are high enough as is.

There is a hopeful knock at Hoppy's door, of course, with no answer.

"Hey Hoppy... I'm coming in!"

It's DogDay! He comes in with a sad smile and a tight heart, bringing with him a small bouquet of flowers. White chrysanthemums and marigolds.

The scene still may be too gruesome for him to look directly, but the effort is necessary.

Putting away the bouquet, he picks up Hoppy's boddy the best he can to put her in bed, covering her til the shoulders with the bedsheet and placing the bouquet by her side. It wasn't much, but he'll come later with more time to clean up her house.

"We miss you a lot... Crafty... Crafty misses you a lot... She's in shambles, the poor girl, and so is Bobby..."

He sighs, patting her ears as tears streamed down his face.

"I'm sorry..."

Poppy Playtime redemption arc...?

I was initially interested in the game because of the absolutely stellar chase sequence but fell off the wagon when the devs (in my opinion) began catering to their younger demographic rather than focusing on making a horror game. But what I've seen from chapter 3 has really impressed me, what an upgrade!! THAT scene with Dogday in particular, good on them for not shying away from gruesome and disturbing stuff!

*ITS HIDIOUS* TW: MENTIONS OF DRUGS AND GRAPHIC DESCRIPTIONS OF BLOOD AND GORE

*Inside is the lab report on what tried to kill Dogday. First of all, its HUGE. Its wider than 2 school busses end to end, and its length isn't even SPESIFIED its so huge. On one half of it, there's a BB Sammy. Except he's been mutilated, destroyed, tested on, and driven to insanity. On the OTHER half, is what WOULD have been BB Dogday for the chain Daycare. Its even WORSE. Its mouth doesn't line up with Sam's beak, so where the beak ends, there is blood and guts spilling out of the side. Its ear has been partially chopped off, and out of cuts can be seen some kind of PILLS and crushed substances, making the whole scene look gruesome. But the worst part? The picture of Proto Dogday freshly ripped in half, labeled "THE INCIDENT, UNFIXABLE" on the bottom. They just abandoned a child.*
