This was my favourite part of the House of Banksy art exhibition
Tumblr media
I never was in Bethlehem/Palestine, I always wanted to see the local people there and Banksy's hotel. But I was very happy to see even the replica of one of the hotel rooms and the art works in it.
It is called the hotel with the worst view. They even tried to make a window that should replicate the ugly ass wall with Banksy's art.
Tumblr media
Sadly Banksy's hotel closed shortly after the genocide in Gaza started, I mean 2 million lives are literary starved to death or constantly attacked after all... what even more devastating is, that the genocide will continue for almost a year a now. It is just sickening to see that no politician gives zero fucks about it ...
Here are more information about the wall.
Tumblr media
Also one of my fav artworks:
Tumblr media
And one of Banksy's recent art works ... it was call for a ceasefire. He posted it on his Instagram. But shortly after he posted it, a fucker stole the stop sign wtf ...
Streetart is made for everyone to see and enjoy. But it is also completely unprotected and has a short live ...
Tumblr media
I need to be honest with myself ... him being pro palestine and including palestinian people in his projects is my main reason why I love his artwork so much.
He built this the Walled of Hotel to help the local people and even made an art gallery inside the hotel to show more about Palestinian history and Palestinian art. The money the hotel earns was used to fund local project and help the Palestinian people.

A tale of two exhibitions.
On my way back to Edinburgh after seeing the Banksy Cut & Run Exhibition at GOMA in Glasgow, before I went in I was a wee bit miffed to find out no photography was allowed. Phones were deposited in a wee bag, that locked and you carried it with you, unlocking it at end.
However it did not detract from what is a fantastic experience, you wind your way through many stencils and genuine artwork Banksy has done over the decades, explanations accompany much of the work, there are even a couple of pieces that you can interact with, adding to the whole experience.
My favourite part of the experience was Banksy explaining his "look out/diversion" had let him down when he was due do play a prank in a large Art Gallery in New York so he enlisted the help of the English actor Keith Allen.
Banksy goes on to say he was awaiting Allen to do his thing when he duly obliged, the actor shouted loudly "That man just stuck his finger up my arse!"
The commotion caused that much mayhem security rushed to the scene from various other parts of the Gallery and Banksy was unable to get a chance to do his thing. He says as he was making his way out he heard Allen say
"Perhaps I was mistaken"
Some of you may know the other exhibitions is The Declaration of Arbroath in the museum. I have to say that not getting to take pics of that hit me more than Cut & Run. The one today cost me £10 (on a concession, it should have been £15) and was worth every penny, the other was free but has left me feeling like I was robbed!
If you have any interest in art at all you will love the Banksy exhibition, it runs till August 28th you can book tickets online, but such is the demand all June's allocation are gone, so you will need to go in July/August. You can by walk in tickets on the day, but I'd advise you to get there early, I arrived a 1pm and my thicken wasnt valid until 7pm.
Oh I might need someone to do a Keith Allen for me at The National Museum, I think it'll be right up your street Robin Mcdonald

Banksy Exhibition: A Journey into the World of Street Art
The enigmatic street artist Banksy has captivated global audiences with his provocative, politically charged art. His exhibitions offer a unique glimpse into the mind of this elusive figure, whose works have become iconic symbols of social commentary and artistic rebellion.
The Banksy Exhibition, a travelling showcase of his most famous pieces, is an immersive experience that draws art lovers, critics, and the curious alike.
The Art of Mystery
Banksy’s true identity remains shrouded in mystery, adding an element of intrigue to his exhibitions. This anonymity allows the artist to critique societal norms and political systems without personal bias, letting the art speak for itself.
Visitors to the Banksy Exhibition are often struck by the raw power of his work, which blends humour with hard-hitting messages. From large-scale murals to smaller, more intimate pieces, each photograph artwork challenges viewers to rethink their perspectives on various social issues.
Tumblr media
Iconic Works
The exhibition features some of Banksy’s most renowned pieces. “Girl with a Balloon,” a simple yet profound image of a young girl reaching out for a heart-shaped balloon, symbolizes hope and the fleeting nature of innocence.
Another notable piece, “Rage, the Flower Thrower,” depicts a masked protester hurling a bouquet of flowers, a powerful juxtaposition of violence and peace.
These artworks, among others, have transcended the street corners and walls they were originally painted on, becoming emblematic of modern street art.
A visual artist creates artwork using mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpture, and digital art. They express ideas, emotions, and concepts through visual forms that captivate and inspire audiences.
Interactive Experience
The Banksy Exhibition is designed to be more than just a visual feast; it is an interactive experience. Many installations invite visitors to engage directly with the art, providing a deeper understanding of the messages behind the images.
For example, a recreated version of Banksy’s infamous “Dismaland” allows attendees to walk through a dystopian theme park, confronting them with the darker side of consumerism and entertainment.
This hands-on approach helps bridge the gap between the artist and the audience, fostering a more personal connection to the work.
Cultural Impact
Banksy’s influence extends beyond the art world. His pieces often spark conversations about social justice, environmental issues, and political corruption. The exhibition reminds us of the power of art to inspire change and provoke thought.
What Is Deconstruction in Art? Deconstruction in art is an approach that challenges traditional structures and meanings, breaking down and reinterpreting concepts to reveal new perspectives and hidden layers within the artwork.
Conclusion
The Banksy Exhibition is a testament to the enduring impact of one of the most influential artists of our time. It provides a rare opportunity to explore Banksy's mind, witness the evolution of his work, and reflect on the societal issues he addresses.
Whether you are an avid art enthusiast or a casual observer, the exhibition promises an unforgettable journey into the world of street art, leaving you both entertained and enlightened.
Selling art online involves showcasing and marketing artwork through digital platforms. This allows artists to reach a global audience, manage transactions, and build an online presence to grow their customer base.

dinner @ Zenari's (& Banksyland!)
Late post from .. November.......
Had an early dinner at Zenari's with one of my besties & then we headed to Banksyland tour.
Tumblr media
The appetizer: Gamberetti Sharka
Contain sauteed shrimp, basil, tomato sauce & chili flakes.
The spiciness creeps up on you! :O the 1st bite/taste was like "ooooh this is very sweet & tomato-y" & then you get a kick of sharp spiciness. It doesn't last long but it was a good spicy! The focaccia bread was great! Excellent with the sauce. The shrimp texture was meh... I don't know my shrimp species.. . they were medium-sized, & was over-cooked. You know when you eat shrimp that has like a mushy texture? I like my shrimps to have a bit of a crunch.
Tumblr media
Susan's Gnocchi Tartufo (gnocchi with beef, mushroom, onion & tomato with truffle cream sauce) & my Salsicce Crostone (flatbread with Italian sausage, mozza, bocconcini & tomato sauce).
Susan's gnocchi was sooooo rich & creamy. Almost too much. She thought the same as well. We believe that's why they added the cherry tomatoes - to add a refreshing taste & texture.
As for my crostone. .. I really liked the crostone (the flatbread) last time I came so I ordered a diff topping this time. The combo of ingredients was very pizza-like lol so good! TBH, it's all about the carb. I didn't care about the topping much. Iuno.. the flatbread here is just so. .. crunchy & chewy at the same time.
The service wasn't great. I regret tipping 15% .. In general, I think 15% is ridiculous, esp when coming back from Korea, where there's no tip culture. It hurt.
We went on a Saturday- it was an early dinner at 5pm. Note it was also on Remembrance Day. There weren't a lot of ppl at the restaurant. Maybe our server was new. .. *shrugs* I don't know. I don't think senior/experienced servers would make such errors... our drinks were mixed up. Our dishes were mixed up. Like come on, there was only 2 of us. It wasn't a large group -.-" She came by a while later to ask how everything was & to light our tea light (as it was getting dark). She was literally on top of our food bcos we had moved the tea light holder to the other side (across, farthest from her). I didn't think that was good etiquette. Could have asked for it? Susan had leftovers so she asked for it to be packed up. She never came back... so she didn't get her food... We had elsewhere to be so Susan was fine with it but I was like. .. erm. So yeah, for me, I think I should have tipped at most 10%.
Here are some pics from Banksyland =D (Look up Banksy if you're not familiar bcos I won't be talking about it here. Just wanted to share some pics with you)

Projection on a wall - the balloon floats away
Tumblr media
Okay so the wknd exhibition took place inside the Pendennis Building. The Edmonton stop was supposed to have taken place in Sept but due to some operational thing, they postponed it, went to other Canadian cities, then returned to Edmonton in November. The Pendennis Building is a rentable space located on Jasper Ave (the sketchier end) & has 4 levels. I've never been here before! I thought the exhibition being here was the perfect choice of location. The whole thing just vibed, you know?
Tumblr media
Like I don't think the experience would be maximized if it were held in the AGA or City Hall. Each section of the space was like a diff theme of Banksy's work so I really liked the organizational aspect of it.
Tumblr media
Overall, the mood was 'dark' & ambient, which matched the artist's subject matter.
Tumblr media
Wall of interesting pictures
Tumblr media
My fav
Tumblr media
Hilarious
Tumblr media
The exhibition had a mix of works: from the frame pictures to projections to statues like this. There was a bit of everything!
Tumblr media
This space had a long video playing on a super long/wide-screen.
Tumblr media
Banksy's cardboard series. This was my fav section of the exhibition- it talked about how Banksy uses diff media during diff time periods to demonstrate/emphasize diff themes.
Tumblr media
The cardboard used isn't perfect- see that small incomplete tear? It has also been folded & some have holes (?likely bullet holes).
Tumblr media
This was on the top floor, which, compared to the rest of the place, was well lit & bright.
Tumblr media
I would love to take a course to learn about Banksy, honestly.
Tumblr media
Saving this for last haha so this.. . is perhaps Banksy's most famous work "Girl with Balloon". I loved how they placed this blurb & the video projection in this space right here that was in the center of the main level, between the entrance & the exit. It was really the centerpiece.
Read up on this if you haven't already- super interesting!
Tumblr media
Bye!
