What is this AU?

The general concept of the Defector Claus AU is that 2 years into Claus being missing, he malfunctions, gaining his free will back and escapes! Current standing, he deals with severe memory issues; having to remember who he used to be and those he used to know, as well as hiding with a certain doctor in the Chimera Lab, fixing a malfunctioning arm canon and replacing dented and broken wings. The rest you will have to find out later! Send in an ask or two.

I don't know! I'm here for the ride. Ideally if this goes well this might be a blog that lasts throughout the month of August and beyond, but we'll see what happens!

Wait, what do you mean Claus' blog?

Claus owns the blog! In universe, Doctor Andonuts gives Claus an inter-dimensional communication device which allows him to make a tumblr account(Read this sentence to a Victorian child). It's enrichment to him as he waits to be repaired as well as hiding from the Pigmask Army. This device is the only one in existence in their universe, so there isn't a real issue with anyone finding him through his blog.

what's it like being the commander? a lot of responsibility, i'd assume

Well... being a commander is definitely a lot of responsibility, much more so than being only a captain for sure. Though... with the army having changed its goals to that of peace, there isn't near as much for me than there was before. Even still, that isn't to say I have nothing now. There is still no shortage of things for me to do. I usually have all types of official business I have to take care of, which is almost always the boring type. Sometimes I get to go out on missions, but they aren't usually super action packed unless we are dealing with a legitimate threat, such as a rogue chimera. Being the second highest in the chain of command, I am normally the one people come to give reports and whatnot. Most of the time, it's actually quite calm and peaceful, which I do actually appreciate quite a bit, it's just that it can get so boring here sometimes, hence why I decided to make this blog. At least I get to spend time with me friends, like Claus, his brother, and some of the friends I made as a captain. So, to give a shorter answer, boring and a little stressful sometimes, but overall, it's a life I'm happy with.

Hi there! I recently finished reading the Black Butler manga for the first time and I’m completely blown away!!! One thing I’m curious about and would like to know from a long-time manga reader: When did people start to seriously theorize that Ciel had a brother? I binge read the manga in less than a week and all of the foreshadowing/clues went completely over my head, so I would love to find out what made people start to get suspicious and what kind of theories started to pour in! 👀

Wow, that's a lot of reading in less than a week! I would have missed a bunch of little details, too, if I had tried that! 😯

When did 2CT start?

Well, I didn't join the fandom until sometime in 2015, and some people were already talking about various hints that there was probably a twin brother. @kurotwins and @akumadeenglish who are both not active here anymore (at least not on those blogs) we're talking about it, as well as some others I'm not as sure about. Apparently, the Japanese chunk of the fandom didn't really debate there being a twin; it was sort of accepted very early-on. It might be a matter of translation issues, like "sons" translated to "son", etc.

Anyway, I recall reading a bunch of their posts, and then I started paying more attention to a scene in ch1. Chlaus shows up with the packaging for a game called "Mouse3" by "Ninkyodo". Well, that's a parody of Mother3 by Nintendo, which was released in Japan on April 20, 2006. Unlike the previous two versions of the game, Mother3 never got localized as part of the EarthBound series. Which is why Chlaus tells our earl the "game" was so difficult to find in Italy. Of course, that packaging contains the drug evidence that our earl needed to show Scotland Yard. To put Azzurro Vanel (and potentially the Ferro family) away.

The irises are used in both Victorian flower language and Japanese flower language to mean a few different things, but one meaning they share in common is something along the lines of "I have a message for you." Well, that message is the game packaging shown on the very next page.

Mother3 is about mirror twin boys who deal with tragedy soon after their birthday (9th or 10th). Their mother is killed by a monster, and their father is so distraught about her death that he goes into a rage and end up in jail for a while. Soon after the dad gets out of (escapes from) jail, he finds out the older mirror twin had gone off by himself to kill the monster, but now he has gone missing. Everyone is searching, but no body has been found. However, the player of the game can see Claus' broken body at the bottom of a cliff. It's understood that he's dead. The main characters still don't know, though. Not for another three, almost four, years. After losing his wife and being unable to find his older son, the father becomes kind of useless. Notice that the guy in Kuroshitsuji is Chlaus, and the older twin in Mother3 is Claus.

Three years later, Lucas (younger mirror twin) is about 13 years old, and he sets off on his own quest for revenge, along with the loyal family dog, Boney. The rest of the game takes place during this one year, then it ends just before his next birthday. The last thing Lucas has to do before he can "win" is defeat his own older twin brother, who had died, been turned into a Fascinating Chimera, and had been pitted against him.

So, I started coming up with my Mother3 theory for Kuroshitsuji back in December 2015. Back then, I was already theorizing that not only is there a twin brother, but he's a mirror twin. The missing twin is older, dead, reanimated, and will pop up again as an adversary.

Soooo, idk how long some version or other of 2CT has been around, but a very specific version of it came to me (and became very serious to me) in December 2015. And it's canon now: mirror twin brothers; one lives while the other dies; the dead one is reanimated; they end up having to confront each other.

Even Sebastian gets to parallel the roles of both the loyal family dog, Boney (under contract) and the Dark Dragon who must be given your "heart" to follow your will (as the demon who demands a soul as payment).

That's why I'm so into my Mother3 theory, which started out kind of small and grew and grew... because the similarities don't stop there. Not even close. Numerous characters and plot lines have strong parallels to Mother3 characters and plot lines, while a few are better paralleled in Mother and Mother2. The timelines are essentially the same between Kuroshitsuji and Mother3, too.

Maybe check out my "Why I theorize" post and my "Masterpost 1" for more on that, to get more into it. There are several masterposts and addendums, plus a few more masterposts on the way... eventually. When I first started posting about it, I didn't expect it to be such a big finding, but here I am, still talking about it! 😆

YEA sure!!!

It’s the same as the original plot of Mother 3 really, except Claus goes against sacrificing himself for Flint and his brother’s sakes, despite having to suffer under the hands of Pokey.

Lucas pulls the final Needle, everything of Pokey’s doings are revoked and the normal Tazmily Village is back. Since Lucas pulled it, peace is mainly restored again (obvs not fully, it’s not like bad things can’t happen in the world cause that’s just impossible) and he gained wings in the remade world since he shares a connection with the Dark Dragon for pulling the last needle.

As for Claus, Dr. Andonuts tweaked him to comfortability so he could be “normal” again, I guess. Although obviously the trauma he went through changed him and he’s just some moody Chimera teen. He still has little respect for Pokey because he was alright with him during his time as commander, but he obviously despises him a lot because he was used.

Our boi, the best boi, the traumatised boi, Masked Man.

Aw jeez, aw man! A character I do my best to handle with care, on account of [ what I reckon he represents. ] Most of my headcanons about the Masked Man are built around this reading of him as a scared kid, locked into a dissociated trauma response. That all the sci-fi stuff is really just emphasizing and reinforcing his defense mechanisms.

I imagine his cybernetics provide no substitute for a sense of touch, leaving huge portions of his body completely numb, same way he's numb to his emotional pain. He had both legs replaced, meaning he's never really grounded, literally or figuratively. I like to break a little from canon and make his arm cannon a permanent feature - it doesn't come off, or turn into a robot arm. Driving home how he's designed to be a weapon, not a person. Kid Claus chose violent vengeance, and now his violence is a heavy weight he's forced to lug around for three years. Thinkin' of how pretty much every other chimera is a horrible heap of cool but terribly impractical features. He's Porky's little action figure. Probably only functions as competently as he does 'cause he's not "supposed" to feel the aches and strain his metal parts are putting on him.

He only speaks when absolutely necessary, and even then, keeps it as brief as possible. In jarring contrast to that blabbermouth kid he used to be. Perpetually running on autopilot, humanity thoroughly suppressed, letting the CPU in his head take the reins. It's by force, sure, but I think on some thematic or literal level it's gotta be a survival mechanism too. Caught between dissociation and hypervigilance, unwittingly forming an invisible stress centrifuge. Claus had ADHD to begin with, and still does - but the Commander tends to be sternly corrected if it flares up. Never really sleeps, just goes into "sleep mode." "You must be so exhausted," aw Hinawa, you have no idea.

Regardless of how you interpret the Masked Man, it's an absolute wonder Claus spends his final moments speaking so gently and sincerely to Lucas. Like. Makes my heart weep. After waking up from some unfathomably nightmarish zombified existence - and fuckin' electrocuting himself - he doesn't freak out or express revulsion or proclaim his crushing guilt. He just wants to reassure his brother. I think it's a huge testament to Claus' character (and Hinawa's influence on him). The sorta person he really is, deep down. The person he always had the potential to be.

Top 5 worst family reunions in video game history

Yes, you’ve read the title. This post will cover five of the worst family reunions in video game history which happens to be important plot points of their respective stories so expect spoilers (duh!). Without further ado, let’s get this mess started.

#1 The end of FFPS

Say, you are an undead nightguard seeking for redemption and ways to eliminate your murderous, rabbit fursuiting and most importantly undead nutcase of a father for good. However on your final destination there’s another contestant in the equation it’s your younger sister whose mind was twisted beyond insanity by her dear old daddy and is currently following his footsteps to become an insane, undead child killing psycho just like him. However fear not before this twisted reunion can continue any longer your current boss, who happened to be the ex-husband  ex-best friend of your father set the entire place on fire. (pictured below)

 Thus burning everything to the ground which put your soul and most of the souls of those tortured victims of your father to rest.

But the worst part is that, Your murderous, rabbit fur-suiting nutcase of a father is still active and is forming a cult with murderous rabbit fur-suiting cultists while taking the form of how he perceives himself while wearing his suit.(pictured below)

You are a twelve year old girl whose brain is integrated into the processing system of a powerful lightning spewing aircraft and you’ve just destroyed an entire army and a skynet rip-off so what’s next? Well on the last moment of the super computer’s destruction it sent an order to awaken your nutcase of a father who has integrated himself into a space station and is bent on destroying the world over his beloved daughter being integrated in the aforementioned fighter in the first place. And now it’s your job to put him out of his misery and save the planet from complete destruction.

#3 Resident evil Village

Due to several unforseen circumstances Ethan Winters was forcibly separated from his daughter Rose, and by the time Ethan has seen Rose again she had been KIng Solomon’d by Mother Miranda and the pieces of Rose was kept by the 4 lords until Mother Miranda is done preparing her ritual. After offing the 4 lords and collecting the Rose pieces Ethan was struck down by Mother Miranda, leaving her to perform her ritual unimpeded, but due to Ethan’s intervention and the mega-mycete rejecting her plans never came to pass and it was Rose instead of Eva who has been resurrected. After Miranda’s defeat Ethan has successfully reunited with Rose, but only for a while as his body is starting to break down and calcify. (pictured below)

 In the end Rose was given to Chris as Ethan detonates the bomb on the Mega-mycete terminating himself and Miranda in the explosion.

#4 Devil May cry3

This is another entry from Capcom. Ever since they were Eight half demon twins Dante and Vergil were separated from each other on the day of their Mother’s death, Dante followed the humanity while Vergil followed demons in the pursuit of gaining power. And the pair of twins have finally met each other again not as brothers but as enemies as Vergil intended to open the gates to the demon world and demons to overrun the human world. And as a demon slayer devil hunter Dante do not approve of this decided to fight his crazy older twin brother, and they fought against each other three times in this game, with the first time ending with Dante being impaled by his own sword and being left to die, the second time ended with both brothers dealing significant damage to each other and then getting their asses kicked by a human who is interested in getting demonic power and the third time ended with Vergil falling off a cliff and into the abyss. But then again their story will still continue on an island somewhere,,,

#5 mother 3 

This story follows another pair of twins, Meet Claus and Lucas, one of the unluckiest pair of twins in video game history.(pictured below)

 Their story starts with them living happily with their parents in Tazmily village of the nowhere islands. But every thing changed... ... when the Pig-mask army attacked. On the first few days of the army’s invasion Hinawa (who is the twin’s mother by the way)  was tragically killed by a chimera, sacrificing her life so her kids can escape. A few days after Hinawa’s death Claus left the village to hunt down the chimera that killed his mom, however Claus strength is no match to the chimera as he is just a mere insect compared to the strong chimera. Claus was defeated and his body was taken by the aforementioned Pig-mask army to be remade as a cyborg that serve the marvelous king of swine. Three years Later, Lucas embarked on his own adventure to disable the thunder tower and (massive spoilers) pull the needles out to awaken the Dark Dragon from its slumber. And as if it’s Made in Heaven Lucas final opponent was his brother who is brainwashed so much that perceives Lucas as an enemy to eliminate.

 Lucas is unable to bring himself to fight the masked man (Claus) and if not for Hinawa’s ghost intervening the “fight” Lucas could’ve been destroyed. And when Claus finally regained control over his body the first action he took is to fire an intense bolt of lightning at Lucas’s badge which reflected back at Claus severely damaging his circuitry and systems in the process and killing him afterwards.

In the end, filled with grief and determination Lucas pulled the final needle terminating the world.

We made a Mother 3 au on Discord. Sorry.

The main gist is that it all starts off as happy and dandy. The SBI family is living happily and Phil and Kristin are just Love Birds while Techno and Wilbur are sparring playfully. Tommy and Tubbo are brothers and just love each other. Things are perfect.

And then the Dragos attacked the village they lived in and Kristin died. And then Tommy died.

Phil was in grief, Techno was angry, Wilbur repressed it, and Tubbo was traumatized.

Yeah not a great start. It’s depressing but hey, it’s Mother 3. It wouldn’t be a Mother series without angst.

So now we have Tubbo as Lucas and Tommy as Claus. Lovely start.

Fast forward a couple of years and no one is happy in the SBI family. Everyone is depressed and no one is having a good time.

Things get worse when a bunch of cyborgs start attacking the town of L’Manberg and when someone stole Tubbo’s discs. The discs that Tommy and him would always play when they were younger. Those discs.

Welp. Time to go stop some cyborgs and get those discs back. Not like anyone else would do it…

Featuring, but not limited to:

-Ranboo also having magic because why not?

-Tubbo and Ranboo being friends since childhood and Ranboo being one of the few things that actually makes Tubbo smile nowadays

-Dream not being a dick in this au and being a good older brother figure. When he stolen the discs he genuinely didn’t know the sentiment value and immediately gives them back when given an explanation

-Jack Manifold also arriving and now having bomb because why not?

-Tubbo’s team just being made up of traumatized people and two out of four of them have family angst. Don’t worry they get better and help each other out

-XD, Drista, Dream, and MD being siblings!

-XD being Porky…

-The Mushroom level but instead of shared hallucinations, we have Dream, Tubbo, and Ranboo all having different ones while Jack acts as the Panicky Babysitter

-Michael being a Chimera that XD made but for some reason Michael in particular got attached to Ranboo and Tubbo. Welp. Guess they’re parents now

-Tommy living because in this au, we do found family and I am already crying from looking at the ideas we made from Discord

-Lore from before the Mother 3 plot line that will be explored in time

-And more!
