"Oh, uh...well it was one of the more cheaper options on their menu..." At some point, Maruki needed to consider home-cooking his meals instead of relying on fast food options. The more he ate out, the more it drained his funds. And although it was a quicker option than the alternative, some days those take-out lunches never fully satisfied his hunger. He was left to snack on his own snacks some days.

Without any students seeing him, of course.

"I would have grabbed myself more shrimp tempura to pair with the rice, but unfortunately I didn't have enough yen to cover for it this time." He sheepishly grinned, wringing his neck with a nervous hand. "Do you usually prep your lunches, Kurusu-san? Since you're currently residing in a café, I can imagine you have quite the variety of ingredients at your disposal."
