Light Prognosticus
Tumblr media
It was written by Merlumina and/or Merloo (both are stated to have written it in-game) and created to counteract the Dark Prognosticus, it tells the future in a more optimistic view. Its main role is to instruct how the universal destruction prophesied by its grim counterpart can be prevented but, as Merlon says, its main purpose was to counteract the Dark Prognosticus, and so it is not actually prophetic. In other words, it says what one can do but, unlike the Dark Prognosticus, it does not say what will happen. However, the events it describes are not ones non-empowered prediction could give, and Merloo is said to be able to see the future in the Japanese script, so it was likely created using non-deterministic future vision.
Apart of telling us the prophesy, the legendary book emphahize something important:  it also claims that the "man in green" will determine which Prognosticus states the truth, which prophecy will be fulfilled.
(A/N: That's one of the reason why I love this game; because Luigi has more importance here, instead of the brother overshadowed by his brother's amazing adventures)
Something interesting of the Light Prognosticus is that it says that all worlds will be destroyed unless the one protected by the dark power is destroyed. The dark one initially is Count Bleck, however, when Dimentio later steals the Chaos Heart from him, he becomes the one protected by it.

@minnesotamedic186 @mimizzin @darkmedolie @randomrabbidramblings @deezeyrabbidy @pastelprince18 @salamifuposey @bramble-scramble @sneklover
Okay, I need to get this on a full post because I've been completely baffled ever since The Last Spark Hunter DLC came out.
[Spoilers Below, just in case]
I made a couple reblogs about this, but I really wanted to express what I think is going to happen in the upcoming Rayman DLC, specifically with Phantom.
As of recently, Phantom has made somewhat of an appearance in The Last Spark Hunter as a giant plushie/inflatable object(?) with Beep-O emphasizing on how the Heroes will never, ever, ever see him again. Ever.
And, of course, a good majority of us believe that this is a BIG case of suspicious foreshadowing.
While I am on the side of "OMG PHANTOM'S COMING BACK!!!", that's not the only thing why I'm making this post. I'm making a post because Ubisoft has been making Phantom... weirdly similar to how I make Phantom to be. I'm not saying that Ubisoft is spying on me, but it is a very startling coincidence.
First, it was Madame Bwahstrella's mention of Phantom's infidelity in The Tower of Doooom DLC:
"You didn't need to be a psychic to predict the Phantom dumping Bea for one of her backup dancers, but would she listen?"

---
Although my depiction of Phantom is far less adulterous, it still creates an undeniable similarity between the fanon and canon lore. Both Phantoms are devilish heartthrobs, delving deep into a romance the moment the opportunity has presented itself. I believe this also implies that canon Phantom has or had plenty of flings and relationships (all of which were not so great). When the Rayman DLC comes out later this year, I genuinely hope we get to see even a glimpse of Phantom being flirty or even "easter eggs" of previous love affairs and crushes.
Now, with The Last Spark Hunter out, it is revealed that Phantom wears eye makeup. While this may be a design choice for the Phantom Plushie, again it's another similarity. I chose to draw Phantom with eye makeup because I felt it was appropriate for an opera singer and overall thespian. Plus, I was heavily inspired by 80's traditional Goth makeup, specifically Siouxsie Sioux, as well as German Expressionist films like "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" and "Metropolis".
While we wait for the final DLC for Sparks of Hope, allow me to make even more predictions for Phantom's supposed arrival with my headcanons. Because I apparently have the power of Future Vision and I want to manifest some really cool shit. /j
Phantom lives underneath the theatre in Spooky Trails. This, obviously, is a reference to the original Phantom of the Opera. Considering that the Rayman DLC appears to be located within a hotel, perhaps Phantom will have some secret lair underneath for our Heroes to discover. As @minnesotamedic186 described it, maybe Phantom will "pull a Helen Gravely" and reveal himself as the host/owner of the hotel.
This one is very evident in my headcanons, but Phantom has a major crush on Princess Peach. Again, like the underground lair, it's another POTO reference and... honestly, how could I not ship these two? If there's going to be a moment within the DLC that confirms this, I like to think it would be like an unfinished song, a sketch, or maybe a small shrine dedicated to her. But it would be even better if Phantom has a mannequin dressed up as her (similarly to how the OG Phantom had one of Christine Daae). However, if it's revealed that Peach is not Phantom's crush, it better be Rabbid Peach or maybe a brand new character within the DLC.
Phantom studies magic in his spare time and, through his abilities, can (and has) created servants/assistants/company with it. Now, this headcanon is more in-depth, as it applies to his fused DNA as well as his emotional state. Since he's part Boo, powers such as invisibility and hypnosis come naturally to him. On top of that, the ability to possess objects into helpers plays into the idea that Phantom doesn't have much in terms of friends. The concept of him conjuring magic may be a far stretch in terms of canon lore, but maybe the DLC will present a scenario where Phantom gains or plans to gain a very strong source of power.
This one applies to the previous headcanon: Phantom has multiple powers, including hypnosis, invisibility, illusions, and fog transformation. His wide variety of powers references how the OG Phantom was a Renaissance man with a ton of skills under his belt, ranging from ventriloquist to composer. If Phantom makes his debut in the Rayman DLC, he needs to be cunning as well as almost invulnerable. He would make quite the formidable main villain, just like how Rabbid Kong was the main villain in the Donkey Kong DLC.
Another headcanon I have is that Phantom loves to dress up in costumes! I'm putting this out there because my man definitely deserves some drip - be it a brand-new suit, an opera cloak, or an elaborate costume for an upcoming performance. It would be so cool if Phantom has a Red Death costume for his final battle or even a picture of him wearing it.

i.. i forgot to ask what the r in mario stood for
The roll move returns in Super Mario Odyssey. It works similarly to its appearances in Super Mario 3D Land and Super Mario 3D World, but rolling also reacts to slopes such that Mario can roll faster while going down inclines but can struggle to roll up slopes without gathering speed beforehand. In this game, Mario can perform a continuous roll when the player holds and presses or shakes to keep rolling instead of performing just one roll at a time. (The latter method is faster than the former.) He can also initiate a roll when the player holds as he lands from a Long Jump, Ground Pound, or Dive. Additionally, Mario has the ability to turn while rolling. In a bonus area in the Cap Kingdom, Mario automatically rolls upon touching the first slope. After this, Mario cannot stop rolling until he reaches the end of the area.

The Bangkok Tour is the seventy-third tour of Mario Kart Tour, which began on June 29, 2022 and will end on July 12, 2022. As the name indicates, the tour introduces a new course based in Bangkok, Thailand called Bangkok Rush, and it also features the debut of a variant of Daisy in a traditional sbai. Continuing from the previous tour, the Metropolitan Fest event will conclude in this tour. This tour features daily Coins Aplenty and Tokens Aplenty events and also features three gold pipes in the Token Shop, which for the first time, does not include any drivers or karts.

(In response to this)
Interesting – although I guess it means I can't get tickets? (I wonder if they're sold out, since this is the final event in the Bangkok Tour.) Also, it does seem that there's a lot less content than in other MarioKart tours, but I suppose that may be a deliberate thing?
the third official tour of Mario Kart Tour was released on March 8, 2021 in China, with the addition of the second new course to the tour, which is based in China. It features the addition of several new variants of characters, such as the use of Super Mario Party characters such as the King Koopa Bros, Daisy, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Wigglersim, Luigi, Piranha Plant, Boo, Wario, Yoshi, Yoshi's Woolly Yoshi, Waluigi, Wario Bros, Shy Guy, Tattle Tattle, and Wigglersim Jr, as well as a course called King of the World, based in a country called Nubia, which is represented by the characters and courses representing the characters. This course was added after the previous tour, which was released on March 8, 2021, with the addition of Super Mario Odyssey characters such as the Fire Flower, Mario Bros., Rosalina, Peach, Bowser and the Luigi Course. The next tour, which was released on April 6, 2021, also featured the Super Mario Odyssey characters, with a course called Mario Galaxy, a Galaxy inspired course for the Tour based on the Mario Galaxy series. This was then released on June 3, 2021, with the release of new characters and courses based on Super Mario Odyssey, such as the Yellow Yoshi, Tippi Tippi, Daisy, and the Wario & Waluigi Course, as well as characters and courses related to Super Mario Odyssey, such as Mario, Bob-omb, Shy Guy, Toad, and a Wario & Waluigi inspired course, called Super Mario Bros. Mario Kart Tour, which was the first official tour, was released on September 24, 2021 in Japan, with two new courses that were developed and released. These were the Mario Bros. Course, a course inspired by Super Mario Bros and the Mushroom Kingdom, and a Daisy inspired course called Daisy Mario. This was followed by the release of The Wario Course on October 7, 2021, which was the second new course to the Tour. In addition to these new courses, the official Mario Kart Tour wiki page also added three new courses, which were based on the games Bowser's Castle, Luigi's Mansion and Toad Town. These courses, as well as The Wario Course, were announced in a Nintendo of Japan press release on November 5, 2021. These four new courses will be added to Mario Kart Tour for the third time in the tour, as these courses and characters will also be featured in the Tokyo Tour and the Wario Course was also added to the second Tour, called the Seoul Tour. Nintendo of America announced the Tokyo Tour and the Seoul Tour on December 7, 2021. However, both tours were scrapped because "unable to get enough players in for the gameplay". Nintendo of America also revealed the third Tokyo Tour in their official announcement on January 10, 2022, with the addition of the new Star Fox Kart and Animal Crossing courses. The fourth Tokyo Tour was released on January 17, 2022, with the addition of the fourth new course, which will be the Final Destination Course, as the first Mario Kart Tour was released in late 2021, with the inclusion of the fourth course. It will be the second course to be based in China and second course to be based in China based on Super Mario Bros.

Dimentio
A more deep investigation about this emblematic character.
Tumblr media
His name is a pun on "dementia" and "dimension". Like Mario and Mimi, he can flip between dimensions, but he can also manipulate them (an ability he shares with Merloo).
A theory says that the surviving son of the pixl inventor is his ancestor.
In the english version, Tippi seems to inmediatly recognize Dimentio upon encountering first. However, in the original Japanese script, her reaction is more ambiguous, afirmaning that Dimentio is one of the Count's minions.
Dimentio originally intended for Dimension D to multiply his power by 256. Upon winning the battle against him, the player character claims that the dimension made them more powerful as well, leaving everyone's stats unchanged relative to each other. This may be a homage to 8-bit storage capacity: 8-bit integers have 256 possible values, so adding 256 (although not multiplying by it) will overflow the integer and result in no net change.
The void is absent from the background of this dimension.
According to Carson, Dimentio approached the Count on his own, wishing to join him. While he was turned down once, he was hired after Bleck read about someone having a similar role in the Dark Prognosticus...
My theory: Dimentio is impure. But not the son of Blumiere or Timapni. The tribe of darkness knew the power and monstrosity of the impures thanks to him. As the tribe saw how dangerous it was and the consequences it would bring, he was left forgotten along with his parents. Maybe that's why he's an impure. For this reason, Timpani, in one of his many visits, was able to see him and his family being thrown out of the tribe. Since he has floating hands and teleportation powers, just like the Count Bleck.
But his mask doesn't let us see how he really is...
Aditional information:
Catch Card: 195
HP Max: 80
Attack: 4
Defense:
Score: 8000
Card Description: Dimentio is Count Bleck's dimension-bending mercenary. The question is, do psycho jesters get good benefits?
Tattle: That's Dimentio... A magician who works for Count Bleck... He's like an evil clown... He'll use many magic tricks, including making doubles of himself... It's hard to get a read on this suspicious character...
Tumblr media
Quotes:
"And so I arrive, like a sudden windstorm at a kindergarten picnic!"
"Ah ha ha. Finally, you arrive!"
"Yes, yes, no one likes the icky stuff... Yessss... A perfect world... Sounds magical!..."
"It would be so very DULL if your journey ended so easily... Instead, it ends with...magic!"
"It is truly enchanting to finally meet my hapless victims."
"You must be Bowser. I knew the moment I saw the flailing nubbins you call arms."
"Well met, lady. Your beauty is as refreshing as a slap to the face on a crisp winter day!"
"At last, the hero... I know of you from the festival of hair that dances upon your lip!"
"Now we must duel, like two gleaming banjos on a moonlit stoop!"
"Can you pierce this...illusion?"
"Your blows are like miniature jackhammers wielded by tiny, angry road workers!"
"The next time we meet, you will feast on a deadly eight-course meal!"
"I am not violent by nature, you know. I'd prefer to settle this peacefully, in fact."
"Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Again, for dramatic effect! AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA."
"You've proven to be worthy foes in the past, so I'm not going to make it easy."
"I'm saying that you no longer have value to me, so I'm ending your games."
"And so I strike, like an unseen dodgeball at an echoing gymnasium!"
"Ciao!"

Nastasia
Tumblr media
(Credits of the art to @starlitwishes-art all of their art is great! <3 )
Nastasia's past is explained by Carson in one of his histories:
'Once upon a time, a man went to look for the girl he loved, who was missing. As he passed through a forest, he found a bat stuck in a trap. He set the bat free. It promptly thanked him and disappeared.
As he lay down to camp that night, he heard a voice and looked about. He noticed the sky was filled with a huge, round moon. There stood before him a woman he had never seen. The bat had transformed into the species of the one she had fallen for.' Now, I don't know if that's true or not...
The last part of the story was... 'The bat pledged eternal loyalty to the man out of love on that night.' ...
Obviously, we can suppose that the man in the story is Blumiere (before he turns into Count Bleck), the girl who he was looking for is Timpani and the bat who then turns into a woman is Nastasia.
Her name is Greek for "She who shall rise up again", possibly a reference to her only falling unconscious from a deadly attack or the story with the bat and the man Carson tells titled "Of Bats and Men". It is also a portmanteau of "nasty" and "Anastasia".
In the English version, she speaks in a casual manner, using words like "'K" and "gonna" often, although in the Japanese version she speaks much more professionally.
Her abilities enables her to control several people at once and command them to do tasks they would never consider doing in their right mind, such as forcing Luigi to attack his friends. However, her hypnosis is at least possible to resist, as shown by Peach during her wedding with Bowser. Nastasia seems to use her power by lifting her glasses, upon which a white glow flashes and her target is surrounded in square lasers, which puts the victim under Nastasia's (and by extension, Count Bleck's) control. Notably, the hypnosis she uses may sometimes cause physical changes in the victim, such as hypnotized Koopa Troopas donning dark glasses and spikes. (And perhaps that would explain the drastic change in Mr. L outfit)
Another fun fact is that, in the post-game, there's a boy on Flopside who was in love with Nastasia, but she comments to us her feelings for the Count, and decides that even if she could learn to love again, she probably never could have measured up to Timpani anyway.
Tumblr media
Card type: Rare
Card Description: Nastasia is Count Bleck's executive assistant. She's in charge of scheduling, organizing, and brain-control. Word is, she's got a secret crush on her boss.
Trivia: Before the game's initial release, artwork of Nastasia and Tiptron together was released despite the fact that the two never interact in the game.
Tippi originally had a tattle for Nastasia in the postgame, though since Tippi would have already been gone by this point, it went unused and remains in the game's files. The tattle reads, "That's Nastasia, the count's executive assistant. She has served him the longest... Without him, she is quite lonely, but she manages to go on in her new life... It is hard for me to see her like this... I think I know exactly how she feels..."
Quotes:
"Yeah, I'll fire off a memo on that...but for now, we have another item on the agenda..."
"Yeah, so some minions in the Bowser organization are still resisting assimilation. So I'm heading out to squash the resistance..."
"So I guess you finished up that report on your own inadequacy that I needed?"
"Um, no, my count. I won't be doing that. My life is already sworn to you."
"If only I could have, y'know, been that girl... Things would have been different..."
"Yeah, I'm afraid your orders mean nothing anymore."

Mario is the main character and titular protagonist of the long-running and highly successful Super Mario franchise. He was created by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto and serves as the main mascot of Nintendo. Mario made his first appearance as the protagonist of the arcade game Donkey Kong, released in 1981 (in which he took the alias "Jumpman"). Since Super Mario Bros., his trademark abilities have been his jumping and stomping powers, with which he defeats most of his enemies, and his ability to gain even more powers with a plethora of items, such as the Super Mushroom, the Fire Flower, and the Super Star. Games have usually portrayed Mario as a silent, straightforward character. According to Nintendo's philosophy, this allows Mario to fit in many different genres and roles. In most games, he is the hero who goes on an adventure to save Princess Peach from his arch-nemesis, Bowser, but he has been shown doing many other activities besides adventuring, such as racing and sporting with his younger but taller twin brother, Luigi; his friends such as Yoshi and Toad; and others.
