I got bored again, so for the third time, here are random things I noticed throughout my rewatch of Nimona.
As always, Nimona Spoilers!
To start off, a few people pointed out how the first time Nimona shows up on screen, we see her doing a graffiti of the word dumb. Also, rewatching some of the scenes, in the scene where she shows the new murder wall, you can make out the word "Nemesis" written over Ambrosius' picture. Also, if you look at the very top of the wall, we can see a drawing of Bal's prosthetic with flames coming out of it with the words "Literal Firearm" written under it. So, I rethought it, and realized Gloreth was probably the first human Nimona had ever seen (as far as we know), so Gloreth probably taught her to speak, write and read, except this was a thousand years ago, and language constantly evolves, and we can all agree that "From whence you came" and "Nemesis" aren't really phrases or words people seem to use. So, I think Nimona probably has some knowledge when it comes to reading and writing, both thanks to Gloreth and just picking up bits and pieces throughout those 1000 years, but she still has trouble when it comes to full on writing actual long phrases to create like an essay or something like a resume.
When she pins back Am's picture on the wall, we see a post it with "Disrupt the System" written and highlighted on it.
We get a hint that Nimona might be "Gloreth's monster" when we see a drawing of her in dragon form that kinda resembles the dragon we see at the beginning in the scrolls.
When Bal calls Nim a monster, there is literally a newspaper cut out on the wall next to him with his picture and the word "Monster" written on it.
We get a bit of insight on the type of pressure Ambrosius suffers from when we get back to the Institute. All the other knights seem to think it's his fault for not having stopped Bal from escaping, despite a whole horde of knights chasing after him and not one of them even coming close to stopping him from escaping either. The other knights, despite probably not knowing the full extent of it, seem to be aware of the close relationship between the two of them, putting him under even more pressure because of that small fact.
When the Director stops the fight between Ambrosius and Todd, she tells them; "Look at you, acting like common children." Reminder that everyone is fully aware that Bal was a commoner and is currently suspected to having killed the queen. She is basically telling them; "Those people are very clearly below us and one of them is a murderer and a villain, and yet you are acting like them."
When Am volunteers to lead the manhunt for Bal, we can clearly see him go slightly worried for Bal as Todd is talking about how he'll make Bal pay. He probably volunteered because he wanted to lessen the chances of Bal getting hurt.
Like I mentioned in another post, Nimona often tries to get Bal to understand that the Institute is filled lies, but not by directly telling him. She starts by giving little hints. One example of him is when she tries to tell him that maybe there's nothing over the wall. I talk about it more in this post.
Nimona's little pink streak in her hair
Nimona is quick enough to go up an escalator that goes down, but a literal knight who has gone through harsh training isn't.
Todd knows that Am's hair smells like lavender. In flower language, lavender is associated with purity, silence, devotion, caution, serenity, grace and calmness. That sounds an awful lot like qualities the Institute would expect a direct descendant of Gloreth to posses, doesn't it?
I'll stop here, cause this is starting to get long.
Unrelated, but I decided to watch Nimona with my siblings (13, 7 and 5) and they all loved it. The best part for me was that my homophobic aunt watched the bit where Bal and Am kiss, started freaking out that I was pushing it onto them, and then my 13 years old brother just commented about how she kept forcing him to watch her romance movies with her and was always pushing him to "get a girlfriend for them to meet" and she just shut up and left. Just wanted to put that out there.
Might make another one of these if y'all like this!

Can you write a yandere concept for Bubba Sawyer (DBD)? I’m a bit surprised this hasn’t been requested earlier
Oh! I'd love to :) Here's my thoughts!
Yandere! Leatherface/Bubba Sawyer Concept
(Dead By Daylight)
Pairing: Platonic/Romantic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Delusional behavior, Attempted kidnapping, Violence/Murder, Clingy behavior, Breaking bones mention, Stalking, Forced companionship.
Tumblr media
Bubba, according to the small amount of lore we're given, is a very emotionally driven character.
He entered the fog essentially after watching his family fall apart.
He follows The Entity's orders because he's scared and doesn't wish to disappoint.
That doesn't change the fact that he's a ruthless killer though.
However, I feel he's easily manipulated.
When Bubba grows attached to a survivor he'd seem them as family to appease.
He has a childish mindset, so "family" could mean anything from sibling or partner.
Either way he'd definitely be attached in that way.
Maybe he feels comfort with you in particular?
Something about you is warm and soft, drawing him in?
Something caring that he finds himself wanting?
He's definitely attached to someone who is considerate and caring towards those around them.
Like a team player or empathetic person due to his personality.
You'll notice his attempts at hunting falter around you.
In fact he often stares in what appears to be awestruck shock at you.
Any change of feelings catches you off guard.
You'll know things have fully changed in a match when you're the last one left and are quickly cornered by the killer.
Instead of dying, however....
He just picks you up, making some oddly content noises, before squeezing tighter.
You can tell it's a hug and are just in shock as the fearsome killer cuddles you like a teddy bear.
Bubba then reluctantly allows you to leave.
Yet that's not the end of his obsession....
Now you know Bubba has a strange attachment to you.
But you aren't sure what to do with it?
When in trials with him you try to relax yourself.
You do gens and notice he hunts those around you.
Yet you find him wandering over to you at times like he's checking on you?
He doesn't try to hurt you at this point.
If anything he watches you repair generators, occasionally reach out to touch your head/hair in curiosity.
For the most part he leaves you alone or expects attention.
It's odd but you use it to your advantage.
Fellow survivors aren't so lucky.
Other survivors are considered threats to his family.
That means he must get rid of them.
He'll be as messy as he wants to be while doing it, too.
It's like The Entity gives you to Bubba as some sort of treat.
He's done well and listened obediently, so he gets his favorite survivor.
You may even try to spare your fellow survivors by hunting Bubba down to distract him.
Said killer is ecstatic that you came to see him.
There's times you can keep him so distracted with paying attention to him the other survivors can do generators.
Bubba is somewhat easy to deal with at the beginning of his obsession.
Yet soon... he'll be tired of others having you.
Soon, he gets rid of everyone in the trial except you.
Then, he tries to trick you into basement.
In true basement Bubba fashion he'd try to keep you in the basement for as long as he can.
If he has to... he slams his mallet into your legs to limit your movement.
He hates hurting you as family... but he can't let you leave!
He just wants to hold you close and feel comforted in your presence.
You may struggle... yet he doesn't care.
In his eyes you're all he ever needs.
He hates to share.
Of course... Bubba can't keep you forever.
The Entity will eventually steal you away again.
It devastates Bubba when it happens...
But what's stopping him from doing this every trial he has you in?

i rag on CC and his 'platonic brother sister samantha coded' approach to MSR, and yet! Scully is so Little Sister Coded about Mulder and her relationship with him Specifically and it is extremely important to both her character and their dynamic. It's very very important that she was the middle kid and the youngest girl and the target of teasing and bossing from Billy and Miss, and she wanted so badly to be included with Billy and Charlie instead of always being the nerdy tomboy tag-along that she couldn't help being because even though she's stubborn and hearty and clever and pragmatic, she's so tenderhearted deep down, full of empathy and outrage at injustice, and also eternally precise, which was always going to leave her on the outside of any rambunctious cool boy or cool girl group.
It's not mentioned anywhere in canon but i always assumed that Bill Jr. and Melissa were closest in age and closer to each other than to the younger two growing up, because 3 and 4 years is a noticeable gap at formative ages. Dana never quite fit in with the older two, the more socially successful and outgoing and assertive Scullys, you get the sense that she was trying to keep up with them while also trying to rebel against them, nerdy little conscience to assertive, successful Billy and naive, half-unwilling protege to popular, mysterious Melissa, and ending up on a drastically different path than both of them in the end. And then there's the mysterious Charlie, who she isn't close enough to, despite him being her little sibling and Dana being a natural protector and caretaker, to show up in her life through the duration of the narrative. The four kids would have mainly had each other growing up on the move, but even then she didn't fully fit in.
Interestingly, the age gap between Mulder and Samantha is probably nearly the same as Dana and Billy. So there are some parallels there, familiar sensations, except with Mulder, she's included in the special club of two instead of being on the outside. And Mulder has traded the naturally contentious relationship he had with Samantha as a kid for a fairy-tale reenactment of a new tag along partnership that includes some friction but none of the festering resentment between siblings in a deeply unhappy house. He ditches her from time to time in the name of 'protection' but in the day to day, he doesn't leave her trotting along trying to keep up and made to feel like her viewpoint is silly and annoying. Despite her independence, she even lets Mulder be protective of her -- far more than anyone else in her life -- like an ideal little sister figure, because that's mutual with Mulder too, and part of an idealized dynamic that she was close to but never part of growing up, as either the younger or the older part.
Scully always to go along with her figure of adventure, never wants to be left behind to catch up or be left out, doesn't want to be seen as too little or not game enough or annoying. And except for certain Syndicate related circumstances, Mulder doesn't just put up with this, he delights in it, always having his partner and playmate who wants to go along for the ride -- even when they're supremely fed up with each other.
Of course they aren't actually siblings, they're unrelated adults with undeniable chemistry and the lines quickly blur even further. But It's a bickering, codependent, pseudo familial, pseudo connubial melange of a dynamic, and it is actually easy to see how Scully could end up making assumptions about her and Mulder's relationship as being best-friendly-fraternal or as them filling particular vacant roles in each other's lives in a way that's convenient but not significant. Because those pseudo familial roles are actually part of their dynamic, even when it also involves romantic entanglement.

what are your agents dynamic with the idols? Whichever dynamics you think are most interesting.
Ooh okay so- this got a bit long but I had a lot of fun I hope you like reading!
San and the Squid Sisters- it started out as a sort of like, imagine two deities and their terrifying demigod champion, which slowly devolved into a more genuine sibling relationship, but still having traces of the dynamic before like. Marie, Callie, and San are a very goofy trio.
Callie is peppy and positive, Marie is snarky and sardonic, and San is serious and controlled- but underneath that San still stands as this harboring entity of pure power that Marie and Callie stand by and support. San as captain is still very much The Captain but without Marie and Callie they also lose much drive.
They're all symbiotic and you can't pry any of them apart from each other now. They're a destructively powerful family that can tear the world apart if they wanted to.
-
Meanwhile Marie turns around and squishes Yon's cheek like: heyyyy its my scrimbly its my scrimble guy its my little fella its my funny little dude.
While San goes from champion to little sibling- Yon is like, runt, to champion. Rising star of the NSS. Is far more helpful and reliable than Yon will ever believe.
Marie sees so much potential in Yon and just wants to encourage the kid. She sees Yon as someone who hasn't quite lived yet and will always be someone Yon can fall back on. She feels like she also owes that to them.
Callie thinks Yon is just swell.
-
Hachi and Off the Hook- I don't see them as a particularly arbitrary mothers and daughter trio but they're a found family nonetheless. Mentors, Big Sisters, Weird Aunts, Mom Friends, thats the energy Off the Hook give to Hachi.
They'll never adopt Hachi, she's barely like three years younger than Marina- but Hachi sees them as reliable and nurturing friends. Off the Hook will always support Hachi and see her as a dear companion they care very deeply for.
Hachi originally lives with Off the Hook after escaping the metros but being a bit overwhelmed, she decides to move in with Yon instead and no matter the favor, Off the Hook will answer Hachi's needs. (Though Hachi is trying not to abuse this power)
This is how Yon gets to meet Off the Hook and I imagine Yon is a huge fan and eventually becomes a close friend of Off the Hook as well.
-
Now... Neo. Neo is pure splatland pride. Wasteland scavenger, most of it's memories lie in the sandy dunes and the occasional dip into the city they found somewhat foul but... she actually quite respected Deep Cut. He knew they were bandits due to it's patrols in the splatlands and seeing them do bandit-ing shenanigans but the splatfests were.. one of the few times Neo found themself lost in their own enjoyment of Splatsville.
Big Buddy did his best to try and bring Neo to Splatsville during Splatfests. Those times were the longest Neo actually willingly stayed in town before fully moving into Splatsville post Storymode.
However, Deep Cut aren't really mentors to Neo, not even after the Storymode. They love to fight the kid for fun now, it's very respectable, but Neo isn't getting any lessons from Deep Cut. They're more like scrappy rival-ish friends that Neo can train on equal ground with. (Big Man is Neo's favorite though. Just genuinely. His hugs remind Neo of Big Buddy...)
Meanwhile- The Squid Sisters think Neo's resemblance to both young and current San is a bit both unnerving and endearing. it's like they have their little little sibling back all over again- but it's quite a sad sight to see too.
They're a bit more invested in Neo than Neo is to them. Squid Sisters are more like weird distant aunts to Neo than any sort of potential siblings (which they respect! they just, also want to pamper the kid much to Neo's dismay).

Relationships, Lore So Far, Personality, Strengths, Weaknesses, Trivia
Relationships
She's aligned with Team L!! of course dnsjhd
Rie and L have a funny relationship because they've worked together for a while and seem close but aren't together (as far as the TF know at least. I'm not sure yet to what degree her relationship with L has progressed at the time the anime is set). but everyone who meets them goes: "a girl in love and a man who's apathetic"
She actually likes Light a lot, because he's a nice guy, when he's not Kira. would be friends with him in another life.
When it comes to 「Kira」 whoever they may be, she dislikes but understands them. She knows that there are problems in the world and a lot of them stem from "evil people", but she doesn't really believe in purely evil people, and also realises that Kira's methods are counterproductive.
Rie does NOT get along with Misa. she can tolerate her but only in small doses. She's always kind to her, though this is mostly so she can try to get information out of her.
As for the rest of the Task Force: Likes them all. She never met Ukita though cause she introduces herself a while after L does in my current plan. Thinks Matsuda is a little naïve and Chief Yagami is blinded by his love for his son.
At the moment I'm thinking Rie isn't an orphan but lived somewhere near Wammy's House when she was little. She loooves annoying Near, Matt and Mello.
Lore So Far
there's a lot of unrefined stuff, what I have here is likely to change
I mentioned beforehand she works with L for a few years before the Kira case. she actually spent a lot of her life tracking him down, basically just to play with him/annoy him because... she's just an ass like that. So eventually she was able to contact him and they played a Game of cat and mouse, detective vs detective (I have a minific written for this that I might share. also Rie's not quite a detective... kinda a vigilante? not sure how to explain)
my current plan is she ends up getting stuck in a situation like Light was, where L suspects her for a case (she hacked into his database and deleted all his files) and has to work with her and keep an eye on her. I'm considering that she purposely got caught bc she was in trouble with more dangerous people, but maybe L catches her because, well, he's the world's greatest detective and the dangerous people just encounter Rie later
she's eventually cleared of suspicion because she wasn't involved in the cases she wiped, she just deleted them to be annoying and win the Game. Rie sticks around to annoy L for a while but then in come the dangerous people!!
the reason for this isn't fully fleshed out yet, but she gets herself kidnapped and once they realise she worked with L they try to get information on him out of her (through torture pretty much). this bit is the bit I'm probably least happy with, I want to work on it more. but in the end her stomach gets cut open, she escapes and collapses/gets rescued, and L realises he can trust her.
Rie goes to various countries and does her own thing for a few years, occasionally assisting L on cases, before she comes to Japan for the Kira case
there's so much Kira related stuff that I think I'll make another post sometime haha.
but that is the simplified and unrefined version of her backstory!
Personality
a proud feminist!! because come on death note needs one. (I know I said earlier she likes Light and dislikes Misa but the way he treats her ticks Rie off)
honestly can be very annoying on purpose, like a sibling
that said she's a good person overall, has done suspicious contract work and whatever, but she loves people and she really cares for everyone in her life
energetic 50% of the time, asleep the other 50%.
Pretty analytical but definitely has and expresses emotions. Probably INTP but I'm not great with MBTI tying.
a sore loser. But instead of trying to win, she will just give up if she knows there's a chance of losing. that way she can tell herself that it was her decision and thus, she won.
Loves her friends + family and has a somewhat motherly vibe
Strengths
she's the smartest woman in the world!! because honestly it is a crime that all the smart people in death note are men and hey, it's kind of cool to make an oc who's the anything-est in the world. (I wouldn't say she's REALLY the smartest, she just has a fairly wide skill set and is intelligent. maybe the highest-achieving)
Well she hacked L's main databases so I think you can tell she's good with technology
Her major in uni was psychology! Criminal and maybe abnormal psych, that is. also has dabbled in sociology and neurology. Rie knows a lot of languages.
a good baker (this may be the real reason L didn't have her killed).
A cheerful presence, good at raising morale and making L seem more approachable and likeable to the Task Force. usually optimistic.
Weaknesses
I know I just said she's optimistic, but this is because she makes a conscious effort to be. Rie's got a lot of anxiety and worries, and struggles with several mental health issues.
Her pride is as bad as L's ego. Actually, she'd claim it's worse.
When she gets angry she gets ANGRY. will straight up punch someone in the face and yell for hours.
bad at processing her emotions in general actually
Rie has attachment and abandonment issues I think. also because of the whole torture thing she's got some pretty bad PTSD.
She can be really rude/blunt. claims this is unintentional.
physically pretty weak, too.
SOOO MANIPULATIVE! like she's a detective and she kind of has to be so to make the most of her psychology knowledge and get info out of suspects, but this will often seep into her personal life. "let's perform experiments on our friends and coworkers to increase efficiency!"
Trivia!
Everyone on the Task Force thinks she binge drinks coffee. It's actually hot chocolate
Rie has a cat! her name is Synonym, nicknamed "Sin"
her favourite flowers are hydrangeas, bluebells, and roses (she's got a literal guns and roses aesthetic going on). Her favourite trees are wisterias and her favourite animals are either otters or elephants.
She's autistic (totally not because I'm autistic and can't write a neurotypical character)
Rie is actually just an alias. I'm debating on, if she lived near Wammy's, she might have met L and this would be a nickname derived from her middle name. but then I have to explain the "woah memory loss!!" in the whole database/suspicion incident. so, it's probably just a name that she likes. or maybe she shortened her own middle name.
The full alias is Rie Takamura. She also goes by Hina Suzuki (Japanese equivalent of Jane Doe) and 1429 (fourteen twenty-nine).
SHE LOVES CASINOS. her theme song would probably be "Joker and the Thief" (or maybe not, but it's in my playlist for her). Rie's very careful not to let herself get addicted to gambling but gosh she loves going to a casino, pretending to be a dumb girl, and counting cards until she can sweep the table off its legs.
lowkey a mad scientist (mostly social-scientist but still.)

I'M SO SORRY I just realised pretty much none of that has to do with DN canon which is kind of what you asked about akdfhsfhrghiwg I'll without a doubt do a part two sooner or later though

I am glad that you mention that! Yes, Mike is both an action and words guy and it fits that he is the leader who gives support and love to those he loves, but I think you made a great point that Mike's monologue to El undermines what he said to Will in S2, and I feel like that's why people want his monologue to El to be a lie given the context... That's one of the reasons why I wonder how they're gonna deal with the monologue if they're going with the Byler route honestly
In reference to this post!
I think it is very hard to understand at this time because we don't have the full picture yet. Like when Vol. 2 dropped, we just didn't get it, with most bylers assuming after our first watch that it was all over. And even now a lot of bylers still have some resentment towards the monologue (some can't even rewatch it!), because they don't fully understand what the thought process was behind it. But in all honesty, it had to go down that way, and for a number of reasons.
First and foremost, they wanted to trick the majority of the audience by giving them what they want (thought they wanted), while also making a point to do it in the most unsatisfying way possible. In order for people to move on from Mike and El, they needed to get them to the highest point they could possibly be, on shaky ground that is doomed to fall, so that they can inevitably do just that, fail disastrously.
Once all the dust settles, there's no valid reason for them to go through all that again, as they've reached their highest and it didn't work out, meaning the story would fall flat if they even tried. (Dudebro fans on Tiktok are actually hilarious bc they're not milkvans or bylers, but they'll make jokes mocking a version of s5 that ends with another milkvan love confession... like... they're so close to the truth and they don't even realize it...)
It also makes an early s5 breakup very fitting, because they left things off at such a high stakes moment without resolving it.
And secondly, and arguably even more importantly, this had to happen for byler to be satisfying (which is important if they want the ending to be satisfying for overall rewatch). Byler wont be satisfying if El and Mike aren't explicitly over with no chance of return (especially with Will and El being practically siblings now). They needed to make it so people couldn't wonder what if, and now, they wont, because we know at their peak they were doomed to fail.
But like you said, how exactly do they plan to go from that monologue, which contradicted what Mike once said to Will, to essentially reversing it?
The quick and easy assumption is that Mike lied and so therefore he never contradicted what he said to Will, because everything he said back then in the shed was true, whereas everything he said in Surfer Boy was a lie...
The long and difficult assumption is that Mike is in a situation where miscommunication is going through the roof. His actions are being based upon misunderstandings and how he is dealing with said misunderstandings in his own head (much of which has been caused in part by his behavior, which was caused in part by his denial/repression) and trying to make choices that he thinks are right, based on what other people think/want/need in this high stakes moment.
Mike is not necessarily thinking of himself here, and so just from that fact alone he is being selfless. Just like Will giving his love disguised as El to help Mike (essentially lying), Mike is also sacrificing his true feelings because he is scared of hurting and losing El (essentially lying). And so although it's not right, it's also not wrong, because it's coming from a good place deep down. (support gay wrongs, am i right?!)
I don't think it's as easy as interpreting it as being a lie vs. truth though. Mike has said SOOO many times this season but the truth is when the real fact of the matter is, those truths he's mentioned often contradict, whether it be outright, or through assumption.
And so it can't all be the truth, at least not on the surface.
There is a necessity for closure on both the Mike and El front and also the Mike and Will front, to clear up those contradictions. Not just for the fans, but also for all three of the characters who are all lying, mostly as a result of miscommunication, meaning they might not have felt the need to lie if there wasn't so much miscommunication in the first place.
AKA what is the truth Oprah gif.
But I do think a number of things Mike said during his monologue, can constitute as the truth, by technicality, which means that even if it's sort of acknowledged later in the story that Mike's monologue was a lie, that doesn't mean there won't be a follow up to that, that resembles him revealing that it wasn't all lies, because he couldn't in good conscious lie in the first place.
Saying, I'm sorry I don't say it more isn't necessarily a lie. He is sorry and I'm sure he does wish he could have said it more... but it's also not the truth, not the whole truth. The problem is he never said it at all to El (once, when he thought she wasn't listening and visibly regretted it). So, he's not acknowledging the truth with that statement, he's instead sticking with a claim he made during their fight, when he low-key gaslighted El by saying I say it, which she countered with You can't even write it ,Mike (They're crazy for putting this line in here bc El already disagreed with Mike on it. Same w the superhero line. Meaning there's at least two things he said she outright didn't like... Yikes...).
It's going to take him acknowledging the falsehoods to admit to the truth hiding in there, but I do think both are one in the same at the end of the day.
Then, it will just be a matter of how they lay out Mike and Will's arcs related to their sexuality in s5.
Noah, in defense of the Duffer's writing for Will's arc in s4, said that once Will does come out, it will be really beautiful. I'm sure that was just him being confident in the Duffers on a basic level, but it also just makes me think about how this is all going to play out.
Is Will's sexuality something that could be revealed first to the others, either by Will himself somehow for some reason, or by Vecna without his control (not in support of Will being outed, but we all know it's a possibility).
I'm just curious about this, because are we going to be seeing Mike reacting to Will being revealed as gay? Or are they both going to find out their feelings for each other, and as a result it will just be obvious they both like boys and so there won't be much of a need to delve further than that?
I think what intrigues me about Will being the one who is revealed as gay in canon first, is because it's obviously highly anticipated, and he's only out to one character so far (Jonathan). And so that coming to a head at the forefront, coming full circle to s1, with everything that happened that first season related to his queer-coding, does feel like it has the capacity to be very satisfying if told that way.
But that would then mean we're also going to see Mike's reaction to that revelation...
And...
I think that's where the acknowledgment for him and his past behavior related to Will and the deterioration of their friendship over the years, is going to make Mike feel a little bit down on himself.
I don't think this means that Mike needs to avenge for his sins or whatever or that he's all wrong and Will's all right.
HOWEVER, I do think there's a chance that Mike could feel that way by the end of this ie. if/when Mike finds out Will is gay, maybe even also that he's in love with him (the painting was from him), only to be reminded of what he said in his monologue.... I just can't see Mike reacting all that positively to that, in regards to himself.
I do think that because of this, we are due for a conversation about the summer of 85, which they still haven't talked about, and maybe even a claim by Mike that because of his behavior over the last two years, he doesn't deserve Will (he'd again be agreeing with the ga saying Will deserves better).
BUT!!! Here's the thing.
Will gets it.
If anyone gets it, if anyone understands why someone might feel the responsibility to be who everyone expects them to be, it's Will.
It doesn't matter if the audience hates Mike because of his behavior over the seasons, because he too presumably feels at war with himself.
This also got me thinking about Heartstopper, a story about two queer characters going through different points in their journey, one gay/out of the closet and one bisexual/in the closet, and them dealing with that journey side by side, having to respect each other for both going at their own pace (You say go slow, I fall behind teas)
When Charlie and Nick kissed, only for Nick to run off upon hearing some of his friends nearby, in turn making Charlie insecure and heartbroken, it was still valid.
Yes it sucked that Charlie got hurt and that he's in this mindset of assuming Nick could never feel the same, based on those actions. Though, we're left in the dark for an episode, assuming the worst, we soon find out that Nick had his reasons.
He was scared.
And he explains that to Charlie, and he's emotional and he's still in the middle of trying to understand what he's going through.
And so even though he didn't have to do all this, he didn't have to apologize for being scared, he still is. He still feels like it's what Charlie deserves because he also does have feelings for him and understandably, can't in good conscious continue to pursue Charlie, without clearing the air.
Even despite this, even though Nick is convinced Charlie has every right turn him away after he low-key rejected him and made him feel insecure, Charlie doesn't.
Nick is looking at him confused and kind of bewildered, and Charlie just smiles at him with tears in his eyes all knowingly because HE. GETS. IT!
It also reminds me of the I didn't say it/You didn't have to, and the whole Leia and Han, I love you/I know... I feel like the moment it becomes obvious that Mike is in love with Will and they have a moment together, whether it be intense or quiet, we're going to be able to tell from the look in Will's eyes that he knows! Because that, in combination with all their moments over the seasons leading up to it, points to the fact that their love is something that doesn't need to be stated outright to be understood. They just feel it and they know, based on their actions.
And that all in turn makes Mike's monologue at the end of s4 that much more necessary, bc we'll be seeing Mike and Will contrast it beautifully by the end. They'll actually talk through things, looking in each others eyes, apologize where they feel they went wrong, listen, forgive, and understand as equals; a team!
Mike going through a mini discovery journey of his own in s5, based on that post I made and the whole Paladin oath redemption arc, seems very fitting based on the situation that's been laid out. Whether Mike is gay or bi or unlabeled is not something I think about definitively, because I think this coming of age journey for him in the final season will happen regardless of what queer label he identifies with.
But be clear, this doesn't mean I think Mike should feel obligated to apologize about the summer of 85. And yet, regardless, I do think that in some shape or form we're going to see him try to amend it. Because it's not that he has to do it, it's because he wants to do it.
I don't think Mike is this horrible character that has all this redeeming ahead of him. I do however think that his behavior over the seasons, based on him not wanting to accept himself for who he truly is, has in turn made Will insecure not only with his own feelings, but with their friendship.
While Mike's worrying a bunch about El, he's resorted to only showing care for her because that's all he can do, causing him to close off from Will all-together bc simply caring for Will is also not something he can do, causing Will to think Mike doesn't even simply care for him.
I do think the end of s4, specifically the monologue, set up a really solid start to s5 and how all three of these arcs in the bizarre love triangle are going to each exist on their own, overlap and finally be resolved in a way that will be shockingly satisfying to a lot of fans, despite it being unexpected.
Thanks for the ask anon!

Flavus sounds very cool!
Since he's related to Mundus, how do you think he gets along with Trish? She was created by him, and she did work under him directly. Would Flavus be curious about his "father"? How would Trish feel about him?
(Don't feel pressured to answer quickly if you aren't sure yet).
I realised ages back that Trish and Flavus could have had a more sibling-like relationship, but tbh, they're more friends and coworkers than siblings. Flavus didn't know for a super long time and already has two sibling figures, one being Nero and the other being my other friend's oc, Ronin. Flavus has this horrible tendency to close himself off and self-isolate the moment he feels vulnerable, and with him not being as close to Trish, she would have a very hard time getting through to him. (Not just that, but Flavus has a hard time regulating emotions due to being neurodivergent and Trish, being a full-fledged demon, wouldn't fully understand that.)
Trish would be very confused at the thought of Flavus being related to Mundus, anyway. Its one thing to basically see this shrimp of a kid be taken under Dante’s care and come home battered by bullies daily before he graduated, but another to find out that someone so painfully human can be related to, well. That. She's weary about him, overall. Every emotional outburst from him has static sparking over her skin.
About his father, Flavus doesn't want to think about it much. He's already been let down by Dante as his father figure, and he can't even conceive being related to something as evil as Mundus. He's a devil hunter, a smart one at that, so when he finds documents in an old hub that used to be a lab his stomach fucking drops. Sins of the father wear heavy, and Flavus bears his like a damn cross, trying to do right at every turn.
He... can't look Vergil in the eye after he finds out.
The whole thing adds to his self-sacrifical nature, and fucked up brain chemicals, basically.

Know what? Here's some random HCs from one of my Legacy verses because I feel like it
Kira and Lana are sisters, Lana being the older of the two. It isn't a well known fact and the two don't fully reconcile with their relation until after EoO. Prior they had a typical sibling rivalry as children and a tense strained relationship as adult upon reuniting years after Kira ran away.
"Kira Carsen" isn't Kira's birth name. Haven't decided her birth name yet but since she's Lana's sister she's a Beniko. Kira Carsen was the name she gave herself upon fleeing the Empire as a means of a fresh start, amongst fear of being found out as a runaway Sith acolyte.
Jaren Beniko is a high ranking Sith Lord in this (Kelsa was not). A stern but oddly soft man with his daughters and a no-nonsense strict officer in the field, he had a way of getting around situations through negotiations rather than drawing his saber, though he wasnt afraid to get his hands dirty if provoked (a trait he passed to his eldest daughter Lana). Was actually a Dark Council member in his early years prior to Kira's disappearance. Loved his daughters dearly. Because of his nature and odd habit of less ruthless approaches for a Sith, there was a rumor he was once a fallen Jedi. Still working on him but may roll a SW class for him.
(YES I'm playing here w the Benikos are Kenobi ancestors theory)
Ancient Sith Purebloods were dragons. Subsequently modern Sith, even humans, can become big lizard puppies if they tried. This is due in part to virtually most Sith sharing bloodlines w ancient Sith. Types of dragons varied/vary from fiery breathers to acid spitters to poisonous nibblers.
On the dragons note, though they CAN most Sith DON'T unlock the dragon form (it's a pain/not well known knowledge/assumed to only be from select bloodlines (which is bs)). The only known participant is Vowrawn. Because course he would. It surprised nobody as Vowrawn is from a very rich and old Sith family, almost considered nobility (Almost...😏).
On that note, Krovos and Shaar are Vowrawn's daughters through a past arranged marriage (now dissolved). Though he commited to the union only to appease family (neither spouse were in love), he does love his daughters and is proud of them and actively retains good relations with them presently. His ex and him are on good terms (they aren't Sith).
Mako is Force Sensitive in my verse (as is my BH). She was, obviously, never found by the Jedi; as a clone, and therefore part of a secret project, her name and identity were not held on Republic records (SIS files only). On top of that, her abilities are not as visibly apparently compared to other FS and she doesn't use them openly much (like Raina). She learns a few techniques from my BH, an ex-Jedi Initiate himself, and the two form a close sibling bond.
Post LotS Kira and Nadia are a married couple. They met before briefly during vanilla but only got to really connect upon joining the Alliance. Kira was the first to realize and have very much Bi Panic bc oh no. Knight Grell is cute. Very cute. She's so pretty when she laughs. She's got beautiful eyes halp-
Nadia however, was the one to make the first move, through various sputtering and flustered words, so nervous much pinning. Kira could only keep kissing her after that. Nadia will admit first she cried from happiness.
They are adorkable I love them ❤️
Jaric Kaedan and Syo Bakarn were quietly involved together prior to the First Son incident. It fell apart after Syo was arrested and brought before the Council for trial. Only then could he watch as his now former lover now looked at him with disgust. The heartbreak was something that plagued Syo just as bad as the guilt over the First Son's actions for years to come after. He truly loved Jaric.
Though not extreme nobility anymore, the Bakarn family is still very much elite and one of the more famous families on Corellia. These days they run a successful distillery business, which keeps them up in the ranks as one of the more prosperous names. Syo holds a share of the family's company.
Syo has two younger siblings. His brother (middle child) is an immature spoiled person who latched onto their family's title and status, preferring to drink at the cantinas around Corellia and flirt with potential lovers (ur 42 Jack stop). Syo doesnt get along with him at all. Syo's sister (youngest) is a gentle kind soul with a heart for helping those around her, though she has issues with temper and differing opinions. Syo adores her and she acts as his confident when he's home complaining about their brother lol
Jaric was born and raised on Tatooine. It was not a happy childhood and he strongly refuses to discuss it (AKA me brain can't decide on what to do there lol). Doesn't like sand. Satele is, for all intensive purposes, his adopted sister. She fills the hole in his heart left by the loss of his younger sister and he often sees her through Satele. Zho was a suggorate father in place of his bio one, whom Jaric has negative opinions about. He quietly regrets never reconciling with Zho.
May make an AU out of it but for a short time, Saresh almost became Theron's stepmother (she and Jace were seriously dating). Theron wants to vomit every time he remembers.
Jace has dated other people outside Saresh post Satele. But it doesnt last. His heart only belongs to one.
Marr did love Satele in his own way posthumously. It's not exactly full romance but...he cared deeply for her.
And that's all for now lol

Immediately after Hilbert Blackburn continues his challenge, only two more left, Grimsley Slater hears that a challenger is simultaneously challenging the league as he is- except the challenger started out with Caitlin, then Shauntal, then Marshal, and were now heading towards his chambers.
He wonders which between him and Blackburn would claim the throne first, if that peculiar challenger- N, hasn't beaten Alder yet.
He wants to put his bets on Blackburn; that kid was something else.
He hears someone step into his chambers, and Grimsley readies a coin in his fingers to be flipped- if the supposed heroes of Ideals and Truth were on a race against time, then who could this secret third challenger be?
The Heart, maybe.
Grimsley snorts a little.
As if The Heart had any truth or ideals to call his own.
The challenger climbs up the steps to his platform, accompanied by a Liepard. A totebag hangs off their shoulder and a pair of red glasses rest on their face.
The sight of their hair- almost black, but just the same shade as Grimsley's under the light, gives Grimsley enough of a clue on who this challenger is.
Still, they state their name.
"My name is Cheren," They say, shoving one fist into their pocket. "Cheren Slater. I'm your brother."
This one doesn't beat around the bush at all.
Like a Fake Out, they've caught Grimsley off guard and completely stumped on what to say next; the information they had just dropped on him hasn't even fully sunk.
They don't even give him a chance to open his mouth as they speak next. "You know, 'little Cheri'?"
That strange child, that crybaby sibling of his, the one that nearly drowned in- "Little Cheri?"
"Little Cheri," They repeat again, one of their fingers pointing at themselves. "Unless, you really did forget about me?"
Oh.
There was a twinge of bitterness in their tone, the brief look of sadness and resentment in their eyes.
Grimsley supposes such a reaction was fair- he hadn't come home for any of little Cheri's birthdays since they were.. seven? Eight? Nine?
Dragons. He couldn't even remember how long it's been.
He shakes his head, an amused smile finally forming on his face as realization sunk in. "No, no. I didn't. How could I forget about my little Cheri?"
For as off-putting and admittedly creepy Grimsley found them at times, little Cheri was still his baby sibling, one that he had promised himself to look after one way or another- even if he could not be around physically.
Yet, he knows he's failed in that aspect- sending over gifts could not make up for his lack of presence.
Little Cheri no longer stared off into the distance or quietly ran off from their babysitter to get into some trouble.
Little Cheri now had eight badges under their belt, a team of five, and was radiating an aura of an exemplary trainer, one worthy of facing against the champion.
Little Cheri had grown so much.
And with that frown of his in his face, they take out a Pokeball from his totebag, and Grimsley could feel the restlessness of the sea.
"I said my name is Cheren," Though his gaze is icy, he seemed more embarrassed than anything; like a child being doted on by an embarrassing relative. "Cheri is fine, but I'd rather reserve that for close friends and family,"
Ouch!
Well, that too was fair.
Grimsley couldn't be expected to call himself family if he had spent most of his life away-
"And you're Elite Four Grimsley right now, aren't you? Not Giima," There's a slight look of amusement as he says that. "So, get it together."
Somehow, somewhere, little Cheri had learn to become quite a blunt child.
Not that Grimsley complained.
Family reunions and catching up could wait. For now, he takes one of his Pokeballs into his own palm, readying himself and his partners for battle.
He chooses not to do his usual spiel this time, instead, mirroring his brother's almost smug look.
"Very well then. Challenger Cheren, show me if you're still that crybaby from before!"

Week 1 day 3 - Family
Tumblr media
-- art by flever
North's living family is entirely adoptive as he lost both his biological parents to disease at < 2 moons old. None of the characters mentioned forward belong to me.
RASPBERRYDOVE Being too young to start eating prey, North had to be nursed by another queen who was available. Though, he and Raspberry never formed much of a deep bond despite the circumstances.
POPPYPETAL Being raised by Raspberry meant he'd be raised alongside her own daughters and that's how North began to bond with Poppykit, and the two became best friends. He considers her his adoptive sister. "Raised together and equally chaotic, these two were up to no good as kits. Though, nowadays North does still hold a strong devotion and admiration towards her. She's his friend, and his sister. He'd give her the world."
Tumblr media
LILYPAD Lilypad is North's other best friend who's also his adoptive sister. Unfortunately I don't have much to write about her because the person who played Lily left the server and we didn't get a chance to develop them.
WILDSTREAM Having lost her parents herself she could relate to North's situation and began to help raise him, and soon enough he'd begin to see her as a mother figure. Although upon her promotion to deputy their relationship became difficult due to the amount of duties she had, it was eventually restored during North's apprenticeship. "Although there was a time where their relationship became difficult once Wild was too full with duties- their work to repair things proved successful. North couldn't imagine anyone better to be the deputy, his closest friend, and mother."
JUNIPERBEE An older tom who acts as the dad of the entire clan, with North it was no different, and North considers him his adoptive father. Same as Lily, the person wasn't very active so we didn't get to roleplay as much.
TATTEREDPAW & CLOUDEDPAW Two of three siblings who were only briefly in the nursery with North due to the age difference, but he still considered them his younger siblings, partially because of his responsability with caring for them as the medicine apprentice. Their passing contributed to North feeling like he failed their family. Same situation as Juniper and Lily.
CONDORPAW The only one left of the trio, was blinded by a coyote when he left to help North gather herbs. North feels responsible for it, even though Condorpaw doesn't blame him for it. They consider each other brothers. "Although they aren't exactly adoptive brothers - having barely that much time to be raised together due to their age difference - North still kind of considers him one. After Condor's siblings passed, after all, North became most of what he had left, and North wanted to make sure he'd be there for him. Always."
BATSTAR Although they aren't close, Northwind always saw something of a grandma in Batstar's figure, and respects her as such. "North doesn't want to admit it yet, but he kinda sees Bat as his grandma. Or at least some sort of grandmother-like figure. They're not fully friends yet, but have warmed up to each other rather quickly. Probably because they both care a lot about Starling and Wild."
STARLINGLIGHT It's hard for North to give her a specific label when it comes to family, but there is a deep feeling of kith between them that is mutual. "Technically meeting during his birth, although forming a proper relationship when he began to sneak into the medicine den, Starlinglight had little faith she'd be able to mentor Northwind, for her past experiences with mentoring had all ended up in awful terms. Neither cats had any idea how deep their relationship would grow, and now, Northwind can't imagine a life without Starlinglight." "You've been through so much more than I have, more than I could ever imagine. But I'll tell you something, and I'll tell you how many times you need to hear it. I love you, and I hope you can allow yourself to feel that, too."
Tumblr media
💫 Northwind
transmale | he/they | gay + demi | 15☾ | riverclan | med cat
I'm actually very grateful for North having such a big family. In the past, I used to struggle a lot with socializing, even in RPs, which resulted in me often being left out. As soon as North was approved, though, people started offering to be related to him, something I've never experienced before. It's something I truly cherish.

Jennifer Incident
Okay, so ever since it was first mentioned we've all wondered what this incident was, right?
What we know is that it's something that has happened in both timelines yet in the Umbrella timeline Ben died and in the Sparrow, he somehow got away with only a scar (it is sorta believed it's from then, right?)
And there are many theories about who Jennifer was, one of the most popular being that she was a girl that Umbrella!Ben sacrificed himself to save, yet Sparrow!Ben let her die and that's how he survived it.
There are also some theories that she wasn't a person but that's what the tentacles are called and it might make some sense since we know Umbrella!Ben didn't seem to like his powers much and didn't like using them, therefore meaning he wasn't much in control of the tentacles, yet Sparrow!Ben is often using them and seems to be in control of them. Yet the one hint that shows it happened in the Sparrow universe too is this painting in Ben's room we can see of a girl with "Jennifer" written at the bottom, which indicates she was a real person, after all. So this makes me scratch that. Although I don't fully reject the idea he somehow dies because of his powers, only that Jennifer is not them, lol.
What I personally think is, that the two versions of Ben aren't that different deep down. It's the same person, just grown in a very different environment. The Umbrellas grow to become dysfunctional and are seen by Reginald as a failure when he meets them in the 60s, so that's why he decides to go on a different route and adopts other children (well, we learn that the Umbrellas haven't been born in that timeline except for Ben but still, there are other differences too) and this time, they're brought up in a completely different way. He basically robs them of all emotional attachments, for example making Pogo go away, or Grace being not their "mom" but more like some sort of a servant. As a result, they become a strong and good team but they lack the closeness and care for each other that the Umbrellas have. The Umbrellas are dysfunctional but more or less care for each other and they've relied on each other while growing up, while for the Sparrows, everything's been a competition and trying to prove they're better than the rest. So that's why Sparrow!Ben is more of an asshole, yet there are hints of how this is more or less of a facade. So, to me, it sounds unlikely that he'd let an innocent person die instead of him.
I saw a theory a few days ago that Umbrella!Ben might have originally died trying to save Klaus. (This breaks my heart on too many levels). And I started thinking, I can really see him dying to save one or more of his siblings. But Sparrow!Ben? Sloane was right, he cares more about not being invited to a party than for his dead siblings. (Because they weren't a real family, they were rivals, someone failed to raise children once again).
So, I promise I'm getting to the end of this, my personal theory now is, Jennifer wasn't someone who Ben failed to save, or let her die. She was maybe someone involved in another way (maybe even the enemy they faced?). In the Umbrella universe, Ben died while protecting the rest, in the Sparrow universe, he didn't do it and that's how he survived.
What we also know is that Sparrows' numbers change and Ben was once number 1 but for some reason, he was demoted. What if this is how he "failed" and became number 2?
And, this would actually work with another theory I have. This one is that, even if it sounds really funny, I refuse to believe Christopher was always a cube. I believe he was once a real person, who went through an incident that made Reginald, similar to what he did with Luther, have no other choice than turn him into something else. And what if it happened then? Because Ben didn't try to sacrifice himself for him?
And this would also justify how Ben failed so majorly that he lost his position, one of his siblings almost died because of him.

Me thinking about my characterizations between AUs
Will I ever actually finish writing something?
Quick 'summary' of relevant AUs
SCP Nesting Dolls Pouch Passenger (Naga!Moon + Harpy!Sun fic) Brother Location (Megaplex burned down, Sun and Moon move to a new location with its own daycare attendants) MCRaR (Mythical Creatures Retreat and Research, from my Ao3 fic) Mega Angst Naga Thing (Just me traumatizing the boys, mostly Glitch) Mershark Attack AU (Based off an ask Mango got)
Sun
Doll- The first. Tries to be a sunshine boy. Anxious. Loves kids, picky about adult friends. Excitable. 10ft, has the power of 'imagination'. Pathological liar after killing his mother's death. Doesn't like being alone, all but physically attached to Moon
PP- Happy harpy boy. Murders two humans to feed Moon. Passive aggressive. Smarter than he seems. Kicked Monty's ass once and will do it again. Tries to be positive. Moon's ride or die. Affectionate.
MCRaR- Sweet. (Spent most of the time unconscious) Only one that really tried to connect with Glitch
BL- A bit wary (big changes in his life). Very excited to have Moon back though. Adopts Lunar almost immediately. Daytime/playtime attendant.
Mega Angst Naga Thing- He is reader's emotional support animal (that's the only thing I have so far)
Moon
Doll- The second. Mischievous at times. Protective, specifically of Sun. Can hypnotize/compel people (go to sleep, tell the truth, forgot this). Mostly level headed.
PP- Tired and stressed. He likes his siblings and maybe 2 other people. Protective and a little possessive (don't take Sun away, he will destroy everything)
MCRaR- Is a snake naga. (he is only mentioned currently)
BL- Virus free, but still doesn't trust himself fully. Anxious. Minor insomnia (so many nightmares). Also naptime attendant (2nd nap) as well as security.
Mega Angst Naga Thing- (probably exists)
Eclipse
Doll- The fourth. Mostly serious. Protective. Can harden his body to be unbreakable to protect siblings. Also has a pocket dimension to hide people or things in (probably will kill you if you aren't approved by him directly or knowingly stored by one of his brothers)
PP- Keeps unintentionally adopting children. Stoic, protective. Big.
MCRaR- Thinks humans are very fragile (Very very protective of human reader). Seems stoic. Warm dragon man.
Mega Angst Naga Thing- Pre adoption, he was in an underground 'dog fighting' ring. Missing an arm (down to 3) and an eye (down to 1) because of it. Previously very cautious... has mellowed out. Protective of reader as well as Sun and Moon
Glitch
Doll- The third. True Gremlin. Can't sit still for long. Keeps collecting animals (currently has 3 snakes and a coyote). Will accidentally destroy most tech probably (Pre incident he was more toned down and curious about everything… his sense of wonder was ruined from the incident).
PP- A sad baby. Very clingy at the moment. Will be a spoiled brat.
MCRaR- Feral and frustrated. Very attached to Sun. Can't speak English so can't really communicate with reader. A bit isolated due to being (mostly) water bound.
BL- (Previously known as Solar) A mess. Sometimes he is mischievous and fun… other times he is giggling non stop and just torn someone's limbs off. other other times he is a sobbing mess because he can't control himself. Good dad ("Do as I say, not as I do"), very protective. Kind of controlling (mostly to protect people from himself). Decent mechanic (built BM). Doesn't like the endos.
Mega Angst Naga thing- Hella traumatized. VERY controlling. Very possessive. Can get very aggressive. Lunar is basically his self control teddy bear. Probably cries himself to sleep a lot, if he sleeps at all. Major trust issues. Partially deaf. Will have a meltdown if he learns he hurt someone close to him ("oh god, I'm just like my abuser"). Definitely needs therapy
Mershark Attack AU- Nomadic, accidentally adopted two kids. Mostly chill, very protective of Lunar and BM as they are small and 'vulnerate'
Lunar
Doll- Newest/Fifth sibling. Can't speak yet. His personality is still developing but so far he is happy and excitable. Very attached to the others, can't be alone.
BL- Glitch's brother and previous partner at the daycare. Quiet time/naptime attendant (1st nap). Soft boi. Worries a lot. Excitable. Probably a crybaby. Possessive of anything relating to Solar Glitch after 'losing' him. Was anxious about Sun and Moon's arrival but he warms up very quickly.
Mega Angst Naga Thing- Was pushy in getting close with Glitch but also 'submissive' enough that he didn't 'threaten' Glitch. Codependent with Glitch, nearly starves himself when separated from Glitch. A people pleaser, will bend over backwards to conform to his chosen's needs. Glitch's pouch is his safe space. Also definitely needs therapy.
Mershark Attack AU- Was an orphan scavenger before becoming Glitch's taglong. Mostly self-sufficient. Small but quick. Is kind of a barnacle once Glitch 'adopts' him.
Blood Moon (BM/Scarlet)
BL- A lil shit but quiet? Technically programmed to be a child, he is also mature. Will kill for Glitch's honor. Adores Lunar. Likes Moon. On the fence about Sun (Kind of his dad's replacement). Cuddlebug.
Mershark Attack AU- A baby. Anxious and shy. Nervous about Glitch at first, warms up quick though.

The Extravagant Sea Club III
:v
We will be getting onto the real shit right here.
What we will cover:
-more palace exploration
-getting some leads
-a looming threat raising slowly
Yep by these bullet points we know that we aren't yet done with this one. :'D
Yep... This is a gruesome journey for both you and me... You as the readers who voluntarily chose to read this fuckery... And me as the author who pulls self uncomfortable things sometimes just for the sake of the plot... U-U/
Don't worry... It will only get worse :3
Now onto the action!
So not only did they have a deadline now, risked Floyd being expelled and probably charged for assault as well, but also they had to clear the palace by the end of the month, with only half of it done.
It was just pure stress.
And Floyd still did not seem to fully come into terms with the whole metaverse and persona things sometimes, thankfully now Morgana was able to nag him and wipe him properly into shape. The last thing they could possibly afford would be to slip in the eyes of the principal or his watchful 'dogs'. His moods really are the whole bet in this situation.
Meanwhile, at LeBlanc, Ortho and Riddle again were watching over Chonky while Idia was out in the town. Even Futaba noted that Idia was more outgoing since Neige's change of heart. And more happy and giggly. Especially since he came in late.
On the other side of the spectrum, Riddle and Ortho were marking off a historical victory once the ever mischievous Chonky stopped trying to tare both of them down.
And also Ortho and Riddle became familiar with Cheeka, the nephew of the leblanc regular. Ortho faced the money problem, as Idia betted that Ortho cannot possibly make enough yens by the end of the next month to buy the upcoming new star rogue saga. But if he does manage it, Idia would treat both him and Riddle to ramen.
Riddle did ask why was he served to ramen as well if Ortho won, to which Ortho revealed that if he helps him out, he could cut the time by making double the money.
Riddle has learned a new skill: ✨the resting bitch face✨
But yeah Ortho also wanted to make his brother's wallet cry by making him lose the bet and treating 2 people to ramen. Riddle never understood how siblings work and Ortho was the finest example of the 'gremlin switch'. Like yesterday the 2 hugged when Idia brought to Ortho his forgotten lunch. And now Riddle feels like he stumbled upon a warzone for an unknown petty motive.
And it happened for Ortho to mention this at the bar of Leblanc, catching the attention of the regular.
The regular introduces himself as Leona... Just Leona... And if Ortho and Riddle can get the furball off his head for the weekend the whole next month, he will not only pay each of them individually, but also the payment comes half in the morning and half after the babysitting day.
So babysitting it is! They babysitted a bird(and bearly survived it)... Sure they are capable of a human child... :'D
But for now, for the palace investigation.
With already half of the ship being explored, the other half proved to be harder to infiltrate in. The clubs were very secured, with little to no emergency exits they could actually use to get in. And even less of safe rooms, as the principal's influence was stronger in this areas.
Until they hit another bock. They reached the tallest club dubbed 'the office', but to enter, their safest option was through the back, which had a coded lock. The code had 8 digits, indicating a date. There was no other way in so for now, they had to see what exactly was that code meaning.
Unknown to them, something was watching them really closely.
Back in the real world, Ortho tried to do some digging. Rook tried that as well, but they came with no results. They tried everything from birthdays to important school days.
Rook brings up that their last resort would be the Kosei's rumor master: Azul. He was a terrifying opponent as he had dirt on everyone you could name at Kosei. Even on Rook, which proved how much of a threat he could be if you make him an enemy.
Floyd mentioned that he knew Azul quite well... They didn't talk too much at school, but they did text and him with Jade were Azul's 'buddies', hanging out after school usually.
Floyd... Pls define buddies...
Ace did ask 'how close are you 3', to which Jade did say that a few weeks ago they had a sleepover at Azul's. It was a somewhat confirmation.
So the next day, after classes, Floyd and Jade invite Azul out through the city. And the others decided to 'just pass by'. Yeah they were spying on them. :'3
~~~~~~~~
"I heard... That you got in trouble, Floyd... Again..." Azul sipped onto his drink. The 3 did get themselves a nice drink as they stood on a bench in the park. The twin in question awkwardly rubbed his nape, Morgana meowing from his lap.
"Yeah... Nothing THAT serio-" "I think that punching the principal of all people... In the face... Is not something trivial..." Azul cut off. "My my... Azul always knows everything going on in Kosei..." Jade smiled. The shorter just arranged his glasses. "If you want to get on top, you need to know who to crush down... Knowledge is power after all..."
Floyd grumbled. "Ya know... I wanna crush that pesky fucker down as well... Azul... You know what he's done!" "But does it affect me? I believe not..." Azul mumbled. "Knowledge also means... To know when to fight and when to look the other way..." he mumbled.
"But your 'knowledge' costed a lot of people! Come on, Azul! You know something! There has to be something that fucker slipped with that we can u-" Floyd insisted, but Azul gently put 2 fingers over his mouth, shutting him up. "You never make Floyd shut up so suddenly... Perhaps is there a-" Jade piped in, only to receive the same treatment.
It was silence for a few seconds.
"3rd of March, 3 years ago... It was after classes in a chemestry laboratory. The instruments that were used were rope, scissors, paper glue, a duster and a fountain pen. The video evidence was all erased... He doesn't know I know about this... And I would rather forget it myself... But this date... Is a game changer if you want to take him down..." Azul whispered, the tone hesitant, but in that silence it was perfectly clear what he said.
"Azul-" "I do not want to talk about it..." "then... Would you like to walk around a bit?" Jade suggested. "That would be lovely..." The shorter creaked a small smile as Floyd moved Morgana into Azul's lap, the cat accepting for the boy to pet it a little. It was soft!
~~~~~~~~
After that, later, the thieves gang returned to the metaverse trying the date Azul gave them as the code. Surprisingly it worked!
And inside there were LOTS of floors. Each with their own unique theme for a club or a bar. It would all have been fine if the whole action going on in between the shadows did not make you sick in the stomach.
But reaching at the top, much to their unluck, there was no door to the roof, but the treasure had to be nearby from Morgana going batshit crazy about it.
So the group stood to think a bit. Spade proposed to use a window to climb up, to which Poison added that they needed to be fast as they couldn't waste any time after the calling card was sent. Siren suggested that maybe they could make a trampoline kind of mechanism. Heart just proposed to make a hole in the ceiling. :'D
But still, they had to see what exactly was on the roof. So they decided to sent there Rose and Amore, as Siren would use his persona to keep tabs on them and map out the whole roof floor.
So using a window, the 2 got out and used ropes and grappling hooks to get up, noticing something.
The roof was a pink glass dome, as inside there was a lavish garden, with flowers and some artificial waterworks. It looked like a fairytale place. Getting inside through an opened window, the 2 looked around.
The flowers from the garden were out of silver, bronze and gold. The bushes and leaves were all out of green satin, in different hues. The water itself was sparkling, upon closer look being actually champagne.
And the water was all flowing out in small rivers, the center piece being a lavish fountain out of pure white marble, on top of it, a blob of energy resting. That was the treasure. Looking around, Amore noted how all of the illumination was not due to the starry sky, but because of lights imbedded in the floor.
Upon returning, Flame noted that the lights they found were directly correlated to the electricity panel which was on the last floor. Probably it wasn't expected for a lot of people to come here, since the only room available was a big bedroom.
And everyone knew who it belonged to. -3-
But as they were ready to leave, Siren's persona suddenly picked up a strange reading. Something, no, somebody was with them as well. So with that, the group thought it might have been yet another clueless peep wondering in.
At this point Heart does comment on how many people will ever stumble into the metaverse like it's some kind of nearby alley.
But as Jade was going for the coordinates, suddenly he got electrocuted, making him to return to his mask as he was drained of energy. Spade, Poison, Heart and Rose could only recall in fear the possible return of that wierd entity that got Queen and Oracle back then, so they opted to immediately go back to the real world.
Fortunately, Jade still had his persona and he was alright. He just needed to rest a bit and he was back like new.
Whoever did that, they must've been close to hit Jade.
Later that day, Riddle and Ortho were doing a crossword at Leblanc when Idia came in. Yusuke, who was also there along Futaba, did ask why Idia was so giggly today, to which the boy switched to his usual shyness.
At that Futaba immediately is on teasing duty, asking if by chance, Idia was seeing with someone if he was so outgoing lately. That also picked ortho and Riddle's attention as Idia was all pink.
For now, Idia didn't say anything, but Futaba seemed to pick up what was going on, making that funny face Riddle saw Ortho always making when he knows some 'tea'.
Guess that runs in the family. :v
But so leaving Idia's affairs aside, the thieves group did gather up at Leblanc the next day after school. Now that they had the treasure route secured, there was only one more thing left.
Prepare the calling card.
Wooop! Sum smol arcs starting here...
Ya know I like drama sometimes >:3
So far, what do you think the boss of this palace would be like?
Lil hint: Neige's boss might give you a lead.
Hey it rhymes a bit :D
Anyway! Buh bye for now!

wanna start writing down ren's sister's lore so it doesn't get flushed down the brain drain and so i can like. look at it all in one place and use that to come up with a proper tag for her lol.
very stream of thought, spelling and grammar be damned.
cassandre "cass" brunet
~31yrs old, making for ~4yrs gap between her and ren
transfem lesbian, she/they, autistic
psychiatrist, with a focus in parental relations and abuse
her sense of humor and general views are surprisingly close to ren's, but she presents as very muted. while ren over-emotes for comedic effect, she under-emotes for an equal but opposite comedic effect. she and ren are very much siblings, physically and in the ways they act.
she has an adopted daughter (currently not developed), who ren absolutely adores to death. he'll call cass with a whole spiel about wanting to catch up with his beloved little sister, promises to bring some wine and food with him... and then as soon as he arrives he drops it all off with her and spends 90% of the visit running his niece ragged.
she and ren were raised in an environment that pit them against each other. ren had more expectations from their parents, both as the oldest and as the kid raised before their town started to earn market value. he was was expected to REALLY succeed so he could "support his parents in their old age someday".
cass still had similar expectations, but the parents focused more of their attention on ren. she was jealous of him for receiving that attention while she felt like she had to live up to his successes without the same amount of support behind her, and he was jealous that she had more freedom wrt her time and efforts and interests. they fought often, academically, verbally, and physically.
it wasn't until both of them had gone to college and saw and experienced things that broadened their views that they started to reconcile, recognizing that their issues were never with each other, only with their parents. she fully broke away from their family, no longer under their parents' influence, and used her newfound freedom to fully explore her identity beyond her experimentation and trials in and after college...
but ren remained under their thumb to some degree, being guided through most of his career choices, which put further stress on him. despite his and cass's similarities as adults, this is one of the main things that makes him react so differently to Things that Happen Later than cass does.
cass also, thanks to her field of study, has a better grasp on mental health techniques that, while not completely ridding her of her mental health issues, leave her much better off than ren. he just kind of... ignores it, bottles everything up, and eventually explodes ;;
possibly has a partner, not sure yet. if she does, they aren't married, just enjoying being together.
she and her daughter (and maybe partner) live in a rural area outside the city, and they have a small chicken coop in their small backyard, along with a small vegetable and herb garden.
she and ren do share some interests -- they've done some ttrpg campaigns together, and they sometimes play games online, but she's more casual about them. her interests are more focused elsewhere... maybe she's a murder mystery girlie.
she and ren are even closer in r!ren's verse; once he's no longer a part of their parents' lives at ALL, they greatly rely upon each other. this is why, instead of the city, he ends up closer to where my family lives; he either lives close to or with cass and her daughter.

[Age Swap Mafia, Reigen finds out the twins' secret (nsfw-ish)]
Ekubo/Yoshioka | Mob Psycho 100 Age Swap Mafia AU + cw: twincest 18-06-2023
okay, Age Swap Mafia AU with self-indulgent twincest (lol) + some voyeur reigen
Where there are rumours going around about the Yoshioka twins. Everyone in the Kageyama groups has heard words of it, be it in passing or gossiping about it themselves.
There's just something... off about the two of them.
Reigen has of course heard of them, but he didn't believe in of it.
Sure, the two are very close to each other, more than most siblings should be actually. But they are twins, and aren't twins usually just closer than regular sibling usually are?
Sure, Ekubo's humour and teasing actions towards his brother are often... rather ambiguous, and it feels as if everyone around them was missing rather key information to get them all. But ambiguous didn't mean something was here.
Sure, Mamoru seemingly never lets anyone enter his space and touch him other than Ekubo, but that was just how the man was. Some people just didn't like being touched and Ekubo just happens to be someone he is comfortable with. It's not weird when Ekubo touches him.
Although he became a little unsure.
He did try asking Mob about the rumour, even if just to try and have them be stopped. Somehow the man didn't look surprised by the rumour and barely waved them off.
Although he did not try denying them, despite how close he seemed to be to the twins.
Then it happened, the proof Reigen needed.
He had been looking all over the place to find Ekubo again so he could help patch up his wounds. The man was a real pain when he was hurt, but not enough to be lethal. Would it kill him to let people patch him up!!
He had taken to search the usually empty basement, knowing the man was good at hiding to patch himself up. He perked up when he heard the familiar laughing coming from one of the storage rooms.
He was about to open the door in a dramatic slam and yell at him, only to stop when he heard someone else voice.
So Mamoru had found him before he did. He listened as the man scolded him about getting hurt again, although Ekubo kept brushing it off (which clearly was frustrating his twin).
"Yudai" Mamoru suddenly scolded after he gasped quietly. This had Reigen confused for a moment, only to realise that this had to be Ekubo's given name and not the strange nickname given to him.
"Aw come on, won't you grant your injured twin wishes?" the man teased back. "I promise I am fine, this is just a scratch, all I want right now is you".
Reigen frowned at this, slowly leaning to look through the small gap left by the door left ajar.
He found Ekubo sitting on a low crate, hands on his twin's ass and pulling him so close Mamoru had to put a knee up on the crate to keep from falling onto him.
"I swear I can't be with you sometimes" Mamoru sighed.
"Yet you still stay with me regardless~" the man teased.
"Shut up" the other man mumbled, hand holding onto Ekubo's naked shoulders.
"Make me~" Ekubo smirked.
And made him do he did. Reigen nearly gasp when he saw the man lean down, kissing Ekubo and keeping him from talking any more.
Reigen couldn't look away as he watched the twins start making out. They weren't just kissing softly, it was the same as when Mob would pull him in his lap and start kissing him deeply, taking his breath away.
He saw the way Ekubo sat farther on the crate, pulling now pulling Mamoru fully into his lap. Watched as he pulled the man's dress shirt out of his pants and started letting his hand roam under it.
Then it was Mamoru's turn to start letting his hand caress his brother's body, avoiding the fresh bandages at his side.
Soon the very quiet room started being filled with the sound of them making out, their groan and gasp.
Ekubo then started carefully taking of his twin's shirt, uncovering the inked back reigen had never seen before (contrary to Ekubo's). The design looked rather similar to what Ekubo himself had actually.
Reigen couldn't help the blush spreading down his neck when he realised Mamoru had started grinding against Ekubo's thigh. His gasp and moan clearer now that his twin was kissing at his neck and chest, hands squeezing his ass.
Reigen felt like he should really not be seeing this, that he should be turning around and run back upstair. That he should NOT be feeling hot all over at the sight of what was happening.
yet he couldn't bring himself to move, actually only leaning closer to the door to get a better view of the two identical bodies touching and pleasuring each other.
It went on like this for god knows how long, until he saw Ekubo start pulling down Mamoru's pants, hand teasing his entrance.
That's when their eyes met.
Reigen felt frozen in fear as Ekubo looked right at the door, eyes meeting his.
Then when the shock wore off he was back on his feet, quietly put quickly making his way out back upstairs, heart beating madly within his chest.
He went back to Mob's office, leaning against the door as he tried calming his pounding heart and erratic breathing. He could barely hear Mob calling out to him and asking what was wrong as he replayed in his mind everything that he had just seen.
"It's nothing!" he tried brushing it off, face still burning red.
Later in the day, when the Yoshioka twin will pass by their boss' office Reigen doesn't miss the knowing smirk Ekubo throws his way, quietly mimicking a "shh" sounds as the two other men don't pay attention to him.
====
(picked out Yudai (勇大) for Ekubo's real name. ain't that important to the story, seeing how everyone uses his nickname (most not knowing what the fuck his name even is). Only Mamoru has the right to call him that 💜 and maybe Mob)
ngl, now I think reigen should have stayed and jerked off to the show like the little freak he is. Am sure Ekubo wouldn't have minded lol.
