#Thieves and TARDISes

I love that no matter how many things I have seen and absorbed on the internet - I will still stumble on little things that like 6-13 friends made for fun/mostly to entertain and hype each other up and it's a whole tiny fandom of just friends being really into their little corner of a made up universe

Irving Braxiatel art courtesy of @strange-destinations!
Propaganda under the cut.
Irving Braxiatel
Long, long history of manipulation, very much a chessmaster sort of character. Repeated misuses of telepathy for morally dubious purposes, including hypnotizing people and memory alteration. In T&T specifically: let her sister get stabbed and did very little to help find the person responsible while also lying about who she was for personal benefit; very conveniently encouraged someone inject themselves with the blood of a death cultist without telling them what would happen (said cultist moving into their brain and setting up shop to eventually take over their body), also for personal benefit; vanished and refused to answer the aforementioned sister's calls for help; is facecast as Gwendoline Christie (biggest factor let's be real)
Nefera de Nile was submitted without propaganda.

Hello! I wonder, did youse name your podcast 'Thieves and TARDISes' after a lot of prominent TARDIS characters showed up, or was it serendipity, or synchronicity, or whatever else you call a happy accident?
going back through the chat records, it seems like we came up with it around the very first arc (so this would have been WAY before most of the TARDIS characters showed up, yes). From memory, Rain was using it as a general tag for Doctor Who RPG stuff, similar to how I use 'basements and lizards' for D&D stuff occasionally, and when I was like 'hey, can we come up with an actual campaign name that's less clunky than DWRPG?' we all very quickly came to the consensus that 'T&T' was pretty cool. and the rest is history.

that'll teach me not to try and catch up with Thieves & TARDISes when it's in the middle of an arc... WHAT IS SHE DOING?

Opportunistic by @raindropsonwhiskers, a nonlinear alternate-universe divergence from our Doctor Who RPG campaign, Thieves and TARDISes! It's one of my favorite things they've written for our game, so of course I had to bind it.
Exactly 6k words, casebound at quarto size. Typeset in Times New Roman, with SeeingDoubleDoingTriple and ApocalypseRegular used for stylizing various parts of the text. The HTV text on the front/spine was absolute hell to weed, but the effect looks great so I'm glad I did it.
One copy made, and it's with @raindropsonwhiskers now!

Irving Braxiatel (She/They) from my home doctor who RPG game. I was really inspired by thieves and TARDISes to actually include Brax in the first place (if you're somehow seeing this and haven't seen T&T, go do that) and the appearance was originally meant to be based on Cate Blanchett, although that drifted over time. Brax was hiding under a chameleon arch-made human persona before they were woken up by the player characters. They have since been helping them deal with the most recent threat to the universe while trying to figure out their place in it. Now the universe is safe (as safe as it usually gets) she's shifting her focus into getting the collection running again and hopefully finding Benny.

okay so... can someone who is well versed in Doctor Who EU explain what's with the Pythian and Imperialix 'eras' of Gallifrey history? and why I keep seeing references to Gallifrey II and Gallifrey III? does Gallifrey have a cyclical thing happening where it keeps retconing itself?
I think its a case of fandom canon welding of references from Virgin New Doctor Adventures / Wilderness Years material with the Gallifrey audio series by Big Finish but I'm honestly grasping at straws
it might have been popularized by one of several DW actual plays??
or DW fic circles on AO3??
okay somebody explain please 🫡

The Thieves and TARDISes doctor and her moss wife, Klimt style.
I made this for @strange-destinations birthday a while ago (I forgot to post it anywhere), it was actually my first painting on my new drawing program + computer, christening it with style!
(description under the read more)
[ ID: a digital painting of the doctor and the TARDIS from the thieves and TARDISes RPG series, the TARDIS is holding the doctor and kissing her on the cheek, their pose is the same as the Klimt painting "The Kiss". At their feet is a pool of gold, and the background is a blue star scape. (Next is a more in depth description of the figures)
The doctor is a young looking black woman with long black hair braided with threads of many different colors. She is wearing a long red coat with a swirling pattern embroidered on it. Her feet are bare and a vine is curling around her calf. She is half kneeling, holding herself up by clinging to the tardis with an arm around the TARDISes neck and her other hand holding the TARDISes hand at her chest.
The TARDIS is a tall and unnaturally pale woman, with long golden hair filled with flowers that is falling behind the doctors body, imitating the golden cloak of one of the figures in Klimt's "the kiss" . She is wearing a long blue dress with a collar and short sleeves, it has a pattern of darker and lighter blue rectangles on it, referencing similar patterns in "the kiss".
End ID]
