I've been working on these three parts since the summer! It began as a redraw of a piece I created in 2021 during those early LN fandom days, but I had a better idea. Anyway, do you ever feel like art improvement can be so surreal? (✿❛///❛)💕💖✨Wow!

i think I can say I and my best friend (who didn't post here) are the creators of lanedunn as a public known thing? I guess I can

anyway, i was out of fandom for a while. it's like a wave, interest comes and goes away, so I have this huge brainrot on mission impossible once in a year. so, when i just started my m:i fixation, I was a true benthan stan. don't remember shit about that period, it was 2019 or 2020. then I started (and dropped) a fic what was inspired by one of simon's movies about him being locked underground for years. I thought "wow what if I do the same with benji?". and I did, but to make it work well, I made one tiny thing.

I made benji and solomon in relationships (ex-es, as you may get it, but still).

this idea lived in my head rent free. young benji and solomon sharing one dream, one idea of helping people. something that went wrong, so lane changed in the more dangerous way, and because he didn't find the support from benji, he locked him down underground (not much folk know what benji was maybe even more dangerous than solomon but it's not important rn)

after this fic I started to think even more about all of this. the possible connection and dynamic of those two if they wasn't enemies (yet or anymore). and i found what they are really working together, having much in common and filling the holes in their hearts. the same time I started to look at ethan more skeptical, saw how bad he is as a character and hod dirty the maccruises did to him (but it doesn't matter, i wrote my hatespeach ab ethan earlier). I started to learn some politologue and m:i was ruined for me because of it's propaganda and how usa is the best (i mean it's from the same guy who made top gun the hymn of usa military).

and then me with my friend had this vision. benji and solomon having the same goal, learning to be better to make the world better, letting the past (attempts to kill) behind, but still working on it. we had a huge plan about changing everything, from the world hunger and sickness problem to the full nuclear disarmament and end of all wars. and, of course, old gays with much traumas with the same amount of screentime. I can't describe how big it project was, but I can say my friend writes the fanfic from 2021. process is really slow, but it goes. for me it's like a lanedunn bible already (and I hope it would be still my lifetime to read it)

umm, I don't know really why I wrote all of it. I was impressed what lanedunns are alive still in the fandom, outside of the stuff me and my friend did long time ago. feels like something new that I gave life, and it grows by itself now like some sort of a child — and it makes me happy. thank you all who enjoys lanedunns ❤️💙

3. your favorite piece(s)?

Just for my own curiosity, there is some criteria for fave pics 1) Does it looks the same as you had in mind? 2) The time spent (less=better) 3) The final result (does it looks nice with time passing?) 4) Are you especially proud of idea?

+Bonus points - how the picture resonated online. Of course little interest don't make the pic worse, but a positive feedback adds assotiation with pleasant feelings.

28. whats a piece you would like to redraw at some point?

idk... I'm pleased with my artwork for atleast 6 years, and the older ones are of old interests - I'm probs not gonna have drive/fun reworking them.

But sometimes I consciously make sketches, wishing I had more resources to make it a finished piece or explore the idea better. So this xleon sketch can go here (re4 au).

there is also a couple more, but they are.... yknow :D

Wow, ancient relics! Arnulf was the only character I actually drew a lot of (since I think the rwbytuber PhoenixNight had an oc contest or appreciation thing going on and I entered) this was back when I was still figuring out his character, semblance, symbol, etc in 2021. Originally, Arnulf had a semblance that kinda worked like radar, where if one heard his 'howl' he'd know where they were.

I think it's important to show off the first steps of something, since it's the foundation of what you're creating now :)

(and it's kinda fun to go back and poke fun at yourself a little bit for how off your art feels after a few years)

Ooh, maybe for my next art projects I'll redraw child Arnulf (and maybe the rest of the gang!)
