I Dammed Well Called It!

Since the hellaciously baffling thing know as live action Riverdale has come into being and it’s “we know we’re camp so let’s turn into it” counterpart Sabrina has come into play, I’ve come to the horrific realization that no comic is safe

So, it’s been brewing in my little fangirl head about what over the top supernatural twist that they’d throw out there for fans to mainline and it it me, it hit me hard:: Casper the Friendly Ghost

Hear me out:

They’d set it before Casper was born and focus on his dad and his uncles in the late Victorian/early Edwardian times ( based on the 95 movie )

Since around that time period there was a huge following about occultism, that’s a total factor on Casper’s parents living in that huge Victorian while Casper’s dad is inventing a was to bring spirits to life again

The Uncles are all kind of bastards but they stick around in ghost form around home so it’s probably penance and we get to see what that was

Cause you know there is going to be drama and with the last name of McFadden it’s Irish brogue’s and Catholic guilt for everyone!

Since it in America they can totally show the horrible attitudes taken against the Irish back then.

I kinda think the uncles are like boot leggers, or some sort of shady enterprisers that just interrupt Dad McFaddens occult inventing party and set the towns tongues a wagging

Lots of spooky and period costumes and 25-35 year old actually playing there age so it doesn’t feel creepy watching them flirt

And if Harvey comics agrees to this then they’ll totally cross over Wendy the Good Witch, Hot Stuff (( an adorable demon)), and possibly the Rich Family ((Richies family tree coming into play))

Possibly spin-offs who would want to see a drama about how the Riches got theirs fortune and how they fought to keep it ((very Dynasty))

So why am I typing out into the void? Why am I predicting plot points and possible spin offs, and my hope for actors who get smooch to be playing as adults and not teenagers?Why am I praying it’s more like Are You Afraid of theDark and less like Euphoria?

Peacock announced a live action with a “darker look” and its in the works now.

My #1 post of 2022

I love how they use music in OFMD. Which is why in season two I want an Izzy-centric episode (like how they did with Mary) and towards the end when they’ve twisted our hearts with backstory and longing looks, I want to see Ed and Stede’s reunion from Izzy’s point of view with No Doubts “Don’t Speak” playing as we go to credits. Because that angry first mate is have some 90’s teenage angst because he’s breaking up with Ed ((and Ed doesn’t even realize it))and I am so fucking here for it.

My favourite fandoms

The awesome @omnishambolichologram tagged me to do this so here we go! I could talk about my favourite fandoms all day 😆 thanks for tagging me!

Ok so before I go into detail just FYI, although I do love books and films (especially films), the specific ones I do love I am more of a lone wolf stan and I don't talk about them much because they don't generally have a proper fandom (unless I am unaware that they do) and also let's face it there are too many films that I love so it would be hard to narrow down to just a few. Perhaps I could be in an 80s movies fandom? Anyway forgetting the point (although please hit me up if you love eighties movies and I will tag that because eighties movies are the best and music actually too tbf)

SORRY GETTING OFF TOPIC THERE ARE TOO MANY THINGS TO LOVE I CAN'T COPE

*breaths*

Ok so let's just start with TV shows first...

Red Dwarf (duh since I was an ickle kid)

Supernatural (also duh - obsessed since 2012)

Doctor Who (a strange one because I love it from 2005-2012, watched it and was scared shitless by the original series as a child and then haven't enjoyed it as much since BUT NOT BECAUSE OF PETER OR JODIE THEY ARE BOTH FAB it's just the writing has kinda sucked lately and I don't enjoy the companions as much but hey ho sorry don't hurt me)

Gilmore Girls (since 2014 - Lorelai Gilmore is me)

Killing Eve (pretty damn good show ngl)

How I Met Your Mother (where are those fans though because I know you blog about them!)

Brooklyn Nine Nine (what a show - such hilarity!)

FRIENDS (Same goes for this one but honestly I don't know many people who dislike this show it's a universal one)

There are plenty of British comedies that are brilliant but don't have fandoms as such but will get lovely honourable mentions from me... (Green Wing, Blackadder, Father Ted, Black Books, The Young Ones, Friday Night Dinner, Absolutely Fabulous and Miranda)

Chuck (since 2013 they have been a prized underrated gem of mine and I KNOW there are Chuck fans out there somewhere... must find them!)

Sherlock (since 2012 and while I haven’t posted about it recently, it still has a special place in my heart. I also love Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes).

Side notes: I would say Game of Thrones but you know... *season 8 nightmare flashbacks* (perhaps I need to read the books and feel less sad).

I need to rewatch Dexter because I did used to love that show.

There are SOME movie fandoms - Call Me By Your Name I just UGH I have only been aware of the film for not even a year but have already watched it like a dozen times and i am obsessed ngl

Robert De Niro, Eddie Murphy and Michael J Fox films I just love most of them ngl

Big up Stanley Kubrick and Martin Scorsee as well of course!

Cornetto Trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End) are AWESOME and there is definitely a fandom that I probably should get involved with for these films lol - another Edgar Wright must mention is Scott Pilgrim vs the World.

I admire a few people like Demi Lovato (HUGE LOVATIC HERE SINCE 2008), the Jonas Brothers (Jonatic also since 2008 and saw them live back in February - one of the BEST NIGHTS OF MY LIFE), Sam Fender and John Mayer <3

1) First Disney movie? I don’t actually remember as I watch Disney since I was a child, but I used to watch the older classic ones a lot. Like, a lot. My poor father was forced to watch Snow White with me in repeat.

2) Favorite Disney movie (besides BATB or its remake)? Lilo and Stitch! But if you mean princess movie then either Mulan or Princess and the Frog. Or Tangled!

3) Favorite Disney princess (besides Princess Belle)? look. this is an unfair question. next!! Ariel as a child and now Mulan.

4) Favorite non-princess Disney movie? Alice in Wonderland, or if in the other question my first answer wasn’t valid, Lilo and Stitch!

5) Non-Disney related fandom? I have... a lot of fandoms. But currently my mains are The Cornetto Trilogy and Gotham. Ish. I’m pretty deep into Rogue One and Daredevil again too.

6) Favorite Disney song? lOOK YOU CAN’T JUST ASK THAT currently a tie between ‘Friend Like Me’, ‘You’re Welcome’ and ‘Shiny’, the last two both from Moana.

7) Favorite BATB song. Remake or original. All of them. Either Gaston or The Mob Song.  All. Of. Them. From the original I’d say Belle. Every single one.

8) Favorite non-Disney movie? The Cornetto Trilogy, but if I have to pick one I’d have to say The World’s End. If you mean animated one uh maybe The Road to El Dorado?

9) One random fact about you: After watching the BatB 2017 movie (the last time, not the first) I, in public in the middle of a crowded shopping, sang the entire Gaston song in english to my dad who dared me I didn’t know the full lyrics. He was so impressed he forgot to be ashamed of me.

10) What’s your favorite moment from the BATB 2017 live-action and why? GASTON PICKING UP THAT LADY AND THEN PICKING UP LEFOU (who the entire time had a :O< face), IT WAS SUCH AN ICONIC BISEXUAL MOMENT AND MY SON LEFOU LOOKED ADORABLE. Also the Beast at the start of ‘Something There’, both him imitating the horse and him throwing a giant snowball in Belle’s face and then LAUGHING when she fell. ALSO—

11) Which character in BATB 2017 do you relate to the most? I’d say either Gaston or LeFou to be honest.
