early in the adventure, before he recognizes that he has feelings for tav, gale info dumps to them about the weave and tav doesn’t hear a word, just staring at him lovingly but gale, not realizing what that look is, thinks he’s done something wrong so he gets insecure and stops talking asking if he’s said something wrong, and tav just says “nothings wrong, just admiring your passion about magic” with a smile but then gets called over to another companion so they say bye to gale while touching his shoulder and mans just does not know what just happened. maybe even going to astarion and/or wyll to get opinions

god this man makes my brain go brrr. adding this to the list of writing ideas

Can we talk about the parallel between Guillermo's turning and un-turning.

His turning went so wrong, it wasn't what he wanted at all. We know our crazy, dramatic baby. He wanted a ceremony, he wanted it to be romantic and soft, he wanted vows and sacred words. He wanted to slowly expose his neck, he wanted whispered words, he wanted to feel safe and cherished. He wanted to be asked and be held and be seen and be accepted.

What he got instead was a badly lit horrifying ordeal. He had to take charge. Derek had no idea what he was doing. It happened in a backroom of a store, they kept getting interrupted by Derek's boss asking him to clean out toilets. Derek fucked up his bite. He almost died. "Have you done this before". Derek fainting. Blood everywhere. Anticlimactic, disappointing, not at all the culmination of his life long dream, of decades of service and love.

His un-turning on the other hand.

Oh Nandor knows him. He made up a ritual for him with a suitably dramatic name: "The Ceremony of Vampiric Transmogrification". He dressed him in robes which he put on him so softly and spoke to him so kindly beforehand. He got all the other vampires ready for him. He hung banners and lit candles. He wrote and spoke vows and sacred words to him. He gave him a choice and asked him a question. And when he got his answer he took charge and made sure everything went exactly as it should. He made Guillermo feel seen and loved and accepted, even if it broke his heart.

Some notes about this that I think are interesting. In low approval he's unnaturally still and doesn't blink. Not even once. He's turned slightly away from them like he's ready to attack or run at any second. He's fully alert and on guard. He does NOT trust tav. In high approval he literally slow blinks like a cat and sways back and forth a little like he's giddy to talk to tav. He literally can't stop smiling even at the expense of looking a little silly :3 He shows complete trust and absolutely adores them. Either platonically or romantically. Just some details that I think are really cool and show how much thought the devs put into these interactions. Even though most of the time we can't even see the faces he makes when talking to him.

OK, listen, so I know we're all feral over the way Aziraphale stares at Crowley with those fucking sparkling heart eyes that make me wanna eat my own socks.

But also, can I have a moment of unwell silence for the way Crowley stares at Aziraphale? The way his mouth sets in an almost imperceptible smile? The way his eyes could bore through a brick wall just to stare at his angel, even hidden behind sunglasses? The way his body orients to Aziraphale as he moves?

My issue today is how Hua Cheng went from painting huge gorgeous murals of Taizi Dianxia with a tiny little gremlin Hong in the corner, to sculpting one Hua Cheng to match each Xie Lian, like an acknowledgement that his presence is something Xie Lian has always needed. And not even just Crimson Rain at his best, but all Hua Chengs. Even little Hong'er offering a flower. He was needed at every stage of their lives. He always had value.
