Hemlock nodded and then Cory thanked him and he shook his head "No problem, Thank you for telling me..." He said softly "I know that probably wasn't easy. You never how someone will react to news like that" In a perfect world everything would be fine and everyone would just get along on things like this but they didn't. "You have my number so if you ever need anything just call me. I'll be there before you can even hang up the phone..."
"Okay" Cory nodded after Hemlock said to go ahead and make the appointment and he'd reschedule if it conflicted with a meeting. "I'll let you know when I'm able to get one." they took their phone out in order to add a reminder to schedule an appointment. "thank you by the way" they said as they put their phone away "for wanting to be apart of all this. Not that I couldn't have figured out a way to do it on my own, but it helps."

Hemlock listened as Cory talked about the baby and how they still had time. The mention of thinking of names almost made him choke on his water "Wait, really? y-you want to hear my ideas?" he really didn't expect it . But he brought out a note pad "I guess I did think about it a little bit. I've always loved the name Edgar or maybe Casper, Cas for short. Dexter, Angel....I-I could go on I mean I'm named after a poisonous plant so we can't do worse that that right?"
where: Collins Tavern
who: Cory and Hemlock ( @sparepcrts )
"We still have a bit of time" Cory started after the waiter had stopped by to drop off their food and refresh their drinks, "but I figure now that we know it's a boy we should start thinking about names." they moved to set the ramekin of ketchup to the side of their plate. "I am open to any suggestions outside of the name Keith. Nothing against Keiths, but it's a terrible name."

Hemlock shook his head "Make the appointment and I'll be there, this is more important than anything else Cory" he knew how sometimes these things needed to be moved around because there wasn't anything else available. "I'm usually free anyway but my meetings can always be rescheduled" he spoke a bit more confidently now more assured. "And with my writers block I've been trying to avoid that too"
"Shit" they whispered to themself as Hemlock asked about any upcoming appointments. "I was actually supposed to make one the other day and forgot." they were usually on top of things when it came to doing things like scheduling meetings and appointments be it for work or personal life. "Why don't you send me what days you have open and I can see when we're both available and try to make one for then?"

"Yeah absolutely! Anything I read I'll share with you." He smiled softly, he suddenly got a spark of inspiration making a mental not to work on his book later. "Wonderful, take your time. Most of them aren't slated to start shooting for at least a year unless we find the right people so we have some time but I know it can take a while to find the right people" He tapped the table a bit nervously "Do you have any Appointments coming up? If you want I could come with you for support." His calendar was too full and even if it was he'd clear it for this.
"Thanks and hey if you do find any good books let me know." they'd been trying to find information on the internet and such, but hadn't really had the time to go out looking for books the past couple weeks. Cory picked up the coiled stacks from off the table. "I'll give them a read over the weekend." they smiled and stuffed them into her bag for safe keeping til later. The weekend tended to be when they buckled down to read things for work.

"I don't regret that night you know...I just- I'm normally not that guy! but I'm not mad about the outcome. As long as you're happy I just want to make this as smooth for you as possible" He said rambling a little like he always had. "It happens, sometimes your body doesn't tell you like it should" he put a hand out for them to take "Yes absolutely I want to...we are good friends, Cory...and now I get to be a parent with one of my good friends" He smiled at them softly.
"the only way we could have been more careful was if we hadn't hooked up at all" Cory said trying to reassure him, "really I feel foolish for not noticing for so long" they gave a self deprecating laugh in an attempt to make him not feel so bad about it all. "If you want to, yeah, that'd actually be kind of nice."

"That is a plus, I didn't even think about that" He chuckled. "I feel like there's so much to catch up on. I better get some books on the subject." He joked a little, however hemlock loved reading so he wouldn't mind. He was going to be a dad now. "Well, you're not alone. I'm here to help you in any way I can.." He looked at them confused for a moment "Oh! right right!" he reached for his bag and slipped out to coiled stacks of paper on to the table "You don't have to read them now, They're just...my books but in movie form. We have offers just want to find the right talent"
"You're right about that. I guess the upside of it was not dealing with morning sickness. I hear that's not a fun time." Cory shook their head with a soft laugh, taking the offered hand. "I feel like I'm still trying to figure out how to process all of this." they admitted "anyways, you mentioned you had some screenplays for me to look at?"

Hemlock gave them his full attention, taking a sip of his own coffee as he listened. He felt his heart beat pick up. "y-you're pregnant...?" he said softly once they were finished talking. Of course now he could see it, when he looked at them a certain way the bump was still small but it was noticeable. "Thank you for letting me know I-...god Cory I'm sorry I should have been more careful when we hooked up..." He took a deep breath and sat back in his seat. He had so many thoughts running through his head. He believed Cory they had no reason to lie and had never given Hemlock a reason no to trust them. He shook his head "I want to be involved...I mean...If you'll let me.." He said softly not wanting to over step.
"Hi" they gave a small smile and greeting in return. "Oh thanks, yeah that's fine" they nodded and moved to sit down. "I did" Cory reached for the mug and took a sip. They usually weren't the kind to get nervous, but this wasn't an every day type of conversation they'd been preparing to have. Just be straight and get it over with. They thought to themself as they took in a deep breath and exhaled out the nerves. "I'm pregnant. I found out a couple weeks ago and I would have told you sooner, but I was - I wanted to make sure before I said anything and you're the only person I had sex with...well the only person I had sex with around the time that this could have happened with. I'm not expecting anything, but I thought you deserved to at least know."

Hemlock sat at one of the booths, his leg bouncing nervously. It had been hard being around Cory since things got out of hand between them a few months ago. But He had tried to get back to it being professional with them. So he didn't know why he was worried. He stood up suddenly when he saw them at the entrance of the diner waving them over. "Hey!" His voice was soft waiting for them to sit before he did. "I got us some coffee, I hope that's okay..." thankfully it was still hot. "So...you said you had some news?"
Cory: Diner in 30.
Cory: I'll meet you then.
