Chapter 6: Told You I was a Nerd
On the ride home, Jungkook kept one hand on my knee the entire way. Not being a very patient driver, I wove my way between slower cars. Each time Jungkook would squeeze my knee a little.
“Is my driving making you nervous, Big Boy? Would you be one of these slow-ass drivers that I’d be overtaking?”
“Nope, I drive pretty much the same way you do. It’s just different when you’re in the passenger seat”.
“Don’t worry Big Boy, you’re safe with me” I smirked at him. “See, we’re here already”.
My apartment building was on the opposite side of town from Jungkook’s, but near the clinic. It was one of those quaint, slightly older buildings, with only five floors and one tiny lift, but I loved it. The neighborhood was quiet and calm, despite being close to the city center. I had good neighbors, both the human and fur kid kind who would sometimes meet at the little park down the road for the kids to have playdates.
After tapping my access card at the main entrance to the building, we got into the tiny lift. This time, Jungkook put his arms around me from behind, pressing his front to my back as his lips ghosted along my ear, making me shiver. The lift came to a lurching halt at the fourth floor, making his stumble against me.
“Whoa. This lift is a health hazard. I don’t know if I’ll be crushed by its small size, or bashed against the walls when it stops moving”.
“Well, it’s a pretty old building, though it’s been restored a few times. Most of the ones who live here like its quaint charm”.
“If you consider death by crushing elevator quaint, sure”.
“Well, there are stairs too. You can get some steps in, work on your quads and calves”.
“Hey, I think I have pretty good quads and calves” he protested, posing like a body builder, showing off his legs.
“Show off” I rolled my eyes, fishing out my keys and opening my front door.
“Why haven’t you changed your lock to a digital one?”
“This way, nobody can cut off my finger and gain access to my home.”
“I think you’ve seen one too many espionage-Sci Fi movies”.
“Do you remember Minority Report? Tom Cruise carried his eyeballs in a plastic baggy and scanned them to gain entrance to his old office!”
“Like I said, too many espionage-Sci Fi movies”.
I bade him enter the apartment ahead of me, then turned around to close and lock the door.
As he took off his shoes, he looked around in wonder. In contrast to his black and white apartment, mine has splashes of color everywhere - purples, teals, orange. The wooden floor was a warm grey-brown. My leather sofa was toffee colored, with a purple throw and cushions in teal and orange. A big fluffy lavender-colored Jellycat bunny sat on the sofa. A purple and teal textured rug sat under small maple wood coffee table with a glass top.
A long shoe cabinet lined the entry way, made of teak, with Tiffany blue doors. A mirror in white-washed maple wood frame sat on top of the cabinet. The drapes in the living room were a rich purple.
“I take it your favorite color is purple?”
“Yup. Yours has to be white and black, or grey?”
“Haha yeah, no surprise, right? Actually, I secretly like purple too”.
“Speaking of purple, I found a very interesting piece of stationery on your desk the other night”.
“Let me guess, it was the purple grape-scented marker”.
“Yes! Do you like, have a fetish for scented markers? Should I be worried?“
Jungkook laughed “It was a present from my ten-year old niece. I told her about purple being my secret favorite color so she felt it was her duty to get me a purple grape-scented one. She has a whole collection of scented markers.”
“Have you actually used it for anything?”
“Nope. I must say having it used for a “thanks for the orgasms” note is a good way to break it in.”
I stuck my tongue out at him and moved towards the kitchen.
“Do you want a drink? I have some fruit flavoured Perrier, or OJ”.
“Perrier is fine”. I popped the screw cap and passed him the bottle.
As he drank, Jungkook wandered around the living room, looking at the photos lining the walls. He stopped at one from many years ago.
“This is you and Hyeri? What were you, fifteen? You were really rocking the glasses.”
“Hey! I was a bit of a nerd back then. Getting Lasik done was life changing.”
Jungkook pointed to one of me in a graduation cap and gown, standing between my parents. We all had huge smiles on our faces. “Your parents? They look so happy and proud”.
“Being an only child meant they had that one chance to be the proud parents, clapping and hooting when their child went on stage. My dad was ecstatic. Granted he’d been happier if I’d followed his footsteps to become a literature teacher, or my mom’s to be a piano teacher, but they saw how passionate I was about becoming a vet and supported me all the way.”
“They sound awesome.”
“They are,” I smiled wistfully. “They live in the next state, about three hours drive away, so I make it point to drive up at least once a month. We also do video calls every other week if we can. Let me go wash up, and we’ll get started on your eggs k. Make yourself at home”.
When I came back to the living room, Jungkook was sitting on the floor near my TV console. He was running his fingers along my PS5.
He looked at me with wide eyes “You game?!? And you got the Galatic Purple PS5 and controllers!”
“Yup, told you I was a nerd”.
“What’s your poison?” he asked excitedly, flipping through my collection of PS5 games.
“Assassin’s Creed, FIFA, Rocket League, Mortal Kombat. But the ones I’m really enjoying now are, don’t laugh, Overcooked and Sackboy”.
“You didn’t dabble with Call of Duty? Or God of War Ragnarok?”
“Nope, FPS games aren’t really my thing. And God of War… boooring….”
“Wow, I don’t know many women who game, let alone play FIFA or Mortal Kombat”.
“I could probably kick your ass in FIFA you know. Just ask Jimin. He has sworn to never ever play FIFA with me again.”, I smirked. “But the real test of strategy and dexterity? Overcooked”.
“I haven’t tried Overcook, but I’ll take you upon that challenge. But can we do the real cooking now? I’m starving”.
“Oh, poor baby. Come, let me whip up those eggs for you….” I shooed him away from the stove and got him to sit at the little dining table in the middle of the kitchen.
As I took out the ingredients, I saw Jungkook whip out his phone and open his Notes app.
“4 eggs, milk, shredded parmesan cheese, shredded mozzarella, butter, salt”, he rattled off, typing furiously.
“Why are you taking notes?”
“These eggs seem to have a reputation. I’d better pay close attention, take some notes, maybe take some photos, hawk off the recipe online, boost my social numbers”.
“Your social numbers are already very healthy, you don’t need to take photos of scrambled eggs. Besides, this recipe is a family secret, handed down from my great-grandma”.
“Have you been stalking me on social?” Jungkook asked mischievously. I ducked my head, blushing. “Ooooh, you have! Ok, ok, since you’re a fan, I won’t put up your family recipe on Insta”.
Rolling my eyes at him, I broke the eggs into a bowl, added the two cheeses and salt. I took out a large whisk and whisked the eggs furiously till I got a good amount of froth. Then I added in the milk and whisked the mixture again. I popped a few slices of brioche into my toaster while I heated up my pan. Once the pan was hot, I added a generous dollop of butter. When the butter had melted, I whisked the egg one last time then poured the whole bowl into the pan with a satisfying sizzle. I turned down the heat, then slowly worked my spatula through the egg mixture, forming clumps as the egg cooked slowly. When it was done, I carefully transferred the eggs onto a plate, dusted the eggs generously with more shredded parmesan and sprinkled some dried thyme on top. The toaster popped up the brioche slices as well, so I brought them over to the dining table with the eggs.
“Voila!” I presented the dish with a flourish. “Cheese scrambled eggs”.
Jungkook stared at the dish with a look of wonder on his face. He leaned forward, closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
“I have never had eggs smell like this, or do this!” He held the sides of the plate, shaking it from side to side to make the eggs wobble. He looked like a little boy opening a Christmas present.
Handing him a fork, I told him “Try it”.
He cut through the buttery curds, scooping up a big mouthful.
“Mmmmmm! Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmmmmmmm!” he enthused with his eyes closed, shaking his head from side to side as he chewed loudly then swallowed. “I can see why Jimin is hooked on this.”
“Each generation has added its own touches to it. This is my version. I added more cheese and the dried thyme to it” as I stretched out my fork to take some.
Jungkook grabbed the whole plate up so that it was out of my reach. “Nope. Not sharing. You can have the toast”, waving his fork in the direction of the brioche.
“Jeon Jungkook! Four eggs are meant for two people! Plus, I still haven’t made you pay for the humungous hickeys you gave me. Don’t think I forgot about those!”.
“Ok ok fine, I’ll share” he scooped some up on his fork and brought it to my lips, feeding it to me. In turn I fed him the toast, and before long we’d polished off everything.
“Ok, why don’t you start up Overcooked, and I’ll do the dishes” Jungkook offered.
“You’re going to do the dishes? What’s the catch?” I asked narrowing my eyes at him.
“No catch. Where I come from, the cook doesn’t wash”.
“Can I apply for permanent residency there?” I asked with my hand raised.
He pushed me out of the kitchen as he laughed and headed over to the sink.
I started up the PS5 and called up the game. I decided to warm up with the tutorial again while waiting for Jungkook.
Soon he joined me on the couch. “Okay, so Circle is for Dash” as I handed him a controller, “X is to pick up or put down ingredients or utensils, Square is to chop your ingredients or to throw ingredients to your teammate”.
“Ok.. circle to dash, X to pick up or drop, square to chop or throw. Got it”.
Before long we were yelling at each other.
“Your rice is going to burn! Take it off the stove!”
“You need to chop up the beef before you fry it!”
“Stop throwing marshmallows at me!” when Jungkook discovered it was fun to throw ingredients at your teammate.
“But the marshmallows are bigger than our heads! And they’re so pink! They look awesome bouncing off you!”
We ended one particularly difficult round with a negative score after we spent the entire round on a food fight.
“I HAVE NEVER EVER had a negative score for this game!” I cried, hitting him repeatedly on the shoulder.
“Ow! So what? Is there a prize ….”
“You’ve ruined my winning streak!”
“Competitive much? You know you can always just delete your saved game and start over” and he promptly navigated to the main menu and hovered over the ‘Delete Saved Game’.
“Don’t you dare!” I yelled at him, making a dive for his controller, knocking him over onto his back and ending up lying on top of him.
He looked so scrumptious I leaned forward to kiss him. He dropped the controller on the carpet and held my head to keep me in place. I scrambled forward so that I was straddling him. I kissed him more fiercely, sliding my tongue into his mouth to taste him. I rocked my hips, feeling him start to harden under me. He sat up, hands reaching for the hem of my tee shirt and pulled it off me in one swift move. He reached out to touch the hickey on my neck, then reached behind me and unhooked my bra, freeing my breasts. He touched the hickey on my breast almost reverently.
“Seeing my marks on you, does things to me.”
“What things?” I asked breathlessly.
“Neanderthal things. Like marking you some more, taking you, hard”.
I kissed him again, trailing kisses along his jaw, his neck, biting him at the juncture of his neck and shoulder, as a I reached out to undo the buttons of his shirt. With each button, more of his beautiful chest was exposed. I leaned down to lick each patch of skin. I moved my lips over his pectoral muscle, then bit his nipple, making him yelp in pain. With the shirt out of the way, I reach down to unbutton his cargo shorts, while he slipped his fingers into my shorts, pulling them down with my underwear.
His cock was already erect. I took him in hand, pumping slowly, as I pushed him down by the shoulders. I positioned myself above him, then slowly sank down on his cock.
He hissed as I slid all the way down, not expecting me to be able to take him so deep so quickly.
“You’re so wet already, so ready for me” he marveled, his big hands on my ass cheeks, spreading them so that I could sit more squarely on him.
I placed my hands on his shoulders, looking into his lust filled eyes. I moved my hips up, almost all the way to the tip of his cock, then slammed back down again. Soon, I’d built up a steady a rhythm as he watched me, my breasts bouncing every time my hips met his.
“Yeah baby, ride me. Use me.” Jungkook growled, his hands reaching to knead my breasts. He pinched my nipples, making me buck harder. I picked up my pace, as his big hands gripped my hips to help me come down hard, he fucked his hips up into me.
“Yesss… yesss….. YESSS! JUNGKOOK!” My voice hoarse as I reached my climax. He bucked his hips a few more times before he too found his release.
I slumped forward, hair falling into my face. He reached up and smoothed my hair, thumbs rubbing against my ruddy cheeks. I turned my head to one side to bite the pad of one of his thumbs.
“Didn’t figure you for a biter” he mused. Fingers brushing against the hickey on my neck.
“Well, at least now we match” I teased. His hand flew to his neck and touched the spot that had bloomed after I’d bit him.
“Y/N,” he said threateningly. “What did you do?”
“I told you I’m make you pay Big Boy. If I have to wear high necked tees for a week, so will you”.
“You little minx!” he scolded, getting up abruptly, sliding out of me, then dumped me on the couch, walking over to the mirror above the shoe cabinet to look at the love bite I’d given him.
“Hey!” I said indignantly as I was plonked onto the sofa. Then I giggled.
“What’s so funny” he said, turning his head from side to side as he peered into the mirror.
“Our juices are on the sofa. It has now been officially christened. Way to go Big Boy”.
“Always at your service” he came back, kissing me soundly on the lips. “How long have you had this couch?”
“Four years.”
“And it’s only being christened now?” He asked, looking a little confused.
“I don’t really have people over much. Well, except for Jimin of course.”
“Ok, then I’m honored to have been part of the christening ceremony” he said with a bow, retrieving his shorts, underwear and shirt. “Hate to love ém and leave ém, but I have an early shoot tomorrow morning. A wedding shoot. It’ll last till late in the afternoon.”
“Oooh, romantic” I batted my eyelids at him.
“Hardly. We’ll all be sweating buckets while the bride and groom try their best to look cool. They’re doing the shoot at the beach. So on top of being sweaty, we’ll all be sandy. UGH.”
“Hey, don’t be mean. You’re making someone’s perfect wedding dreams come true”.
“As I said, always at your service”. He finished buttoning up his shirt, as I pulled on my tee shirt and walked with him to the door.
Suddenly he turned around and grabbed me, crushing me against his chest. “Thanks for the scrambled eggs, Sweetness, and for teaching me to play Overcook”.
“Anytime, Big Boy. Consider your payment 50% made.”
“50%?”
“You gave me two hickeys. I’ve only given you one. You owe me one more, and I intend to claim it”. ‘
“Anytime you’re up for it, baby”. He kissed me deeply, before swatting me on the ass. He winked at me as he opened the door and stepped out.
“Till next time, Big Boy”. He gave me a mock salute, then started down the stairs.
I leaned against the closed door, grinning like an idiot, wondering if I’d be able to remove the new stains on the sofa.

A Penultimate Pen Theory.
Recently, @pentition posted a very insightful and thoughtful analysis regarding Pen’s potential future as a core romance candidate in an upcoming game. This gave me food for thought about Pen's future direction and how his past relationship with the Sandrock builder could come into play, or whether he should find love with a playable character in an upcoming game.
When I think about Pen’s future, I’m limited by the few crumbs Pathea has offered us to theorize about his history and motivations. It’s not much but there are tidbits that I’ve clung to that put me in the camp of “team Pen.” There are also a few Discord posts by zede05 that I’ve added to the tiny pile of details.
Some history to note is that players who participated in the MTAS early access may have a different opinion of Pen than late-comers due to Pen’s romance being a Kickstarter goal and not originally developed. Also, his character art was greatly improved after he was introduced (I’m basing this on Discord comments as I did not participate or see prior iterations of Pen). These details may put EA players in the “Pen’s romance and physical characteristics were an afterthought” camp, which is valid.
Regardless of the romance aspect, it was Pen’s story that was greatly developed. He was such a BIG character for 2/3 of MTAS. No one makes a character that big with that many parallels, hints, and ambiguities unless they plan to utilize them in the future. Pen may become a big deal, and his arc may likely have a strong emotional impact on the player.
The one thing we know is that Pathea can and may change their mind about storylines and character development based on player response. Many discussions regarding Pen’s future romance potential are read and possibly considered in how they will approach his story arc and resolution. The more we talk about it on Reddit and Discord, the more chance we have of helping to shape Pen’s outcome. Based on zede05’s comments, nothing is set in stone.
Now, with that said, I think the original direction they may have decided on, and why Pen was not a marriage candidate is because he’s going to take the true role of the anti-hero, and his ending will be his end. Please forgive me for typing it out, it’s not meant as a jinx, and I truly don’t want it to happen. However, I do think there is a strong possibility that the writers may decide or have already decided that this resolution needs to happen to counterbalance his actions in MTAS (and in future game(s) if he continues the villain path a while longer).
I’ve been wrong many times before, but I see Pen as being the main hero of the series at a great cost to himself. Aadit gets to go home, but Pen doesn’t. Pen may even be the one to save Aadit so he can return home to Portia’s builder.
Tumblr media
Pathea doesn’t think players will be disappointed by “how” Pen ends up, not “where” Pen ends up. Granted, there are translations involved and they didn’t know whether Aadit would be the Rogue Knight or not by Portia’s end, so it’s all speculation. However, if Pen sacrifices himself for the greater good near the series end, zede05 would be right that we wouldn’t be disappointed. If anything, we would all be greatly moved by it and the emotional impact and payoff would be huge. Pen ends his story as a true hero.
I’m not sure how many games they plan for the series, but I’ll play the odds that Pen will be recurring until the end. I believe someone at Pathea mentioned using Marvel’s film series as a guideline for its continuing characters (in reference to Aadit and Pen).
To bring the discussion back to romance, I think Sandrock’s builder was the first time Pen ever felt something akin to affection or love. At the end of the Paradise Lost quest, we know he’s quite familiar with sex, but then sex doesn’t require emotions. He was unsure of what friendship was, and he didn’t understand the feelings he was left with after his dates with the builder. Pen only knew he liked it and wanted to spend more time with them. He comes off as very emotionally stunted, which aligns with his more narcissistic traits.
One comment that stood out to me was in response to a question about Pen becoming romanceable again in the future, zede05 replied, “But Pen only loves himself and his form of justice. Haha.” So, if anything, Pen must grow and learn to have concern for others not just himself. I think the builder’s relationship with him in Sandrock set that into motion, but we won’t know the impact until he’s reintroduced later on. While I wouldn’t be surprised if Sandrock’s builder has a role in his future, I believe at the very least they helped build the foundation for his potential redemption arc.
I don’t think Pathea will let him be romanced again until something happens to counterbalance his past crimes. So, if he does do the big thing to save the day and lives, then maybe the next game could see him become a marriage candidate. Although, I really like @pentition's idea of Pen heading off to find the builder or having them ride off into the sunset, preferably on Merle’s back. I’m a big fan of full-circle storylines, so Pen dating a new character comes off to me as slicing the pie in half and chucking it in the bin.
Regardless of what is to happen in the My Time series, we know that Pen will probably play a big role in it. I do hope that whatever road Pathea has laid out for him will ultimately lead to his redemption and that we are all left feeling proud of him and satisfied with his story.
Gosh, this was hard to write. @pentition, thank you for sharing your thoughts, which in turn gave me a bit of courage to share mine. I hope I'm not a total Debbie Downer on this topic.

This prompt came from the top of MY OWN DOME and it’s part of a series.
9/21/24
Write about a house you remember visiting.
I was just recently thinking about my friend Carol’s house.
Carol and I went to the same school from 4th to 6th grade. It was a magnet school for high achievers, as the county puts it. Yep, a gifted school. (Don’t worry, you’re not about to get any former gifted kid discourse from me - I’ve long since gotten past that.) Carol and I also shared the same birthday.
The school we went to took students from all over the county we lived in, which is very large in size and is actually shaped like a tiny little scale model of the state of Georgia. That meant that my friends did not always live very close to me, although we were all clustered in the northern half of the county, which was probably somewhat more convenient for our parents when we wanted to go visit each other.
Carol lived in a neighborhood of relatively newly-built homes near Northlake Mall, which is hardly much of a mall anymore. But back in the day, it was the Big Mall because it had two stories of shops whereas the mall closest to my house (North DeKalb Mall, which is being demolished right now - another end of an era; I should write about my memories of these malls too) was just one story. Northlake had a big Macy’s, Suncoast (the first place I bought anime tapes and DVDs), Old Navy and even a Disney store, among many other things. The parking lot hosted a carnival from time to time, too, setting up a Ferris wheel and other rides in a little cluster visible from a main road.
So, Carol’s neighborhood was really different from mine in that the houses were built in the 90s. We lived in a cute little ranch house that was built in 1960, according to Zillow, where I just discovered the pictures of my old house are blurred out for some reason. The pictures of my current house are not blurred out. Maybe the new owners went to the trouble to make a privacy request. Well, they’ve made some odd changes to the exterior of the home. I’ll get to that eventually when I write about my childhood home.
My house, like many ranches, had just one level. I considered it a mark of wealthiness if someone had two stories, kind of like how some kids thought Viennetta was the height of fancy desserts. Carol’s house had THREE levels. I’m not sure what her parents did for a living, but to me that meant they clearly had some dough.
Because Carol’s family was Chinese (I remember her bemoaning having to go to Chinese lessons with her younger sister on Saturdays), visiting her was my first introduction to the custom of removing your shoes upon entering the house, a custom we now observe in our home. There was a shoe rack beside the door - I think I came in through the garage, not the front door, and the garage opened into the kitchen. But then right beside the door from the garage was the area we concerned ourselves with: the steps down to the basement.
Oh, the basement! It was like having another house! It had a big open living space with couches in it, I think maybe even a kitchenette, a bathroom and then a couple of rooms behind doors. I am sure the builder marketed this area as being a great in-law suite. Coincidentally, it was also a great place for a bunch of preteen girls to hang out watching TV and playing on the computer that was in one of those rooms with a door.
Yes, I’m old enough to remember the concept of a computer room! These days they’d just call them home offices, and back then computer rooms usually also did double duty as a bedroom unless you were real fancy. In our house, my bedroom had the computer. At my friend Caitlin’s house, which I will certainly be writing about as part of this series, the computer was in her parents’ bedroom, tucked inside a closet that they had removed the bifold doors to, opening it up. There were still clothes in there too.
Carol’s computer room also had some bookshelves in it and I remember her pulling out a copy of Airframe by Michael Crichton, telling me she read something crazy in it, and flipping to a page where a character said “Fuck a hairy duck, I don’t believe it!” What a great sentence! That is still all I know about the book Airframe.
We also read Gundam Wing fanfic on that computer. I should point out that there was a group of 5 of us anime-loving weirdos who gravitated towards each other, which meant there was the exact same amount of us as there were boys on Gundam Wing, so we each decided to pick one as our faves. Mine was Quatre, the blond boy who lived in the desert. Annie had Heero, Cameron (who at the time was known by their birth name, but even back then they hated the name and went by a shortened version of it; even then I knew they were going to legally change their name as soon as they could and I was right) had Duo, the name of the girl who had Trowa is escaping me right now (I am so sorry!! But then again it has been about 25 years now) and Carol had Wufei.
We all thought Gundam Wing was the coolest show ever. I often stayed up on weekends to watch the Toonami Midnight Run version of it where they allowed the characters to say kill instead of destroy. When I went to summer camp for two weeks - another memory I should write about sometime - my dad recorded the show for me. Attempting a rewatch of Gundam Wing is on my to-do list, though I may check out the subtitled version this time.
And when we were having a sleepover there and it was finally time to get some sleep, I believe we all just sort of camped out wherever. Maybe on the couches, maybe on the floor. I don’t really recall spending much time upstairs at all, or in fact ever making it up to the top story to see Carol’s actual bedroom.
After 6th grade, we all scattered. The middle school that our magnet school fed into was far away, which would have meant a very long bus ride for me. By comparison, my mom taught at the middle school in my home district, so I could simply get to school with her, making it an easy decision. I think Carol went on to the magnet middle school and then the magnet high school after that. Her Facebook profile includes no information about schools and hasn’t been updated since 2016. Of the Gundam Wing gang of five I mentioned, Cameron stayed in the home district and so went to middle and high school with me, meaning it was easier to stay friends until we graduated and then scattered - until Facebook allowed me to rediscover these school friends and get back in touch, which has been one good thing about Facebook.
At this point I can’t remember exactly where Carol’s house was, which will not be the case for many of the other houses I plan to write about. I hope she’s doing well out there, wherever she is!

The traditional method of creating more room in a house makeover is converting a garage. With load-bearing walls out of the way and the box appearing to be already in place, Adu with Garage conversion is a terrific method to expand your home's living area without taking up additional land.  One strategy for homeowners to help pay off their mortgage while still residing in their home is to convert a garage.
Due to a lack of available space, several towns have started to  Convert Garage to Living Space.  generally included in this category. Some municipalities are starting to examine Garage Conversion Los Angeles more closely as a result of the increase in short-term home rentals.
ADU are secondary dwelling units situated on the same lot as a primary residence. They are often referred to as granny flats, in-law suites, or backyard cottages. Stated differently, homeowners can include these compact, independent flats within their property. Adu Builders can be linked to or separate from the main house and often feature their own entrance, kitchen, and bathroom.
For a comparatively small investment, an existing property can have habitable space added with a Adu Garage Conversion. If you need additional living space quickly or temporary housing, an Adu Garage Conversions apartment can be the best option.
It's critical to locate local builders with expertise in this kind of building. Although there are plenty of general contractors capable of doing the work, it is preferable to work with someone who has particular knowledge with ADUs. These are some qualities to search for in Adu Builders near me .
The most crucial element to take into account when selecting an Adu Contractors is this. Make sure you enquire about the builder's background in construction as well as any particular experience they may have with the kind of ADU you want to add.

Make sure the builder you select is open to working with you to design the Adu Builders Los Angeles of your dreams. To make sure you're satisfied with the finished work, they ought to be prepared to make any necessary alterations and revisions.

Joe Auger flies his replica of the famous WW1 Red Baron over the fields of Brampton, ON. (Zoran Bozicevic photo)
This picture has quite a story attached to it, so allow me to tell it:
A few WW1 airplanes enthusiasts just outside Toronto built fully functioning replicas of some famous biplanes and triplanes of that era. I was sent to a small airport near Brampton, Ontario, Canada, to take pictures of the planes. When I arrived, Joe Auger, one of the plane builders and a pilot, greeted me and showed me around the hangar where they had kept their flying machines. There were fragile-looking planes with one, two and three sets of wings, strewn haphazardly around the space. I confessed to Joe that I don’t know much about air battles of the WW1, the only plane I knew was the Red Baron. At that, his face lit up. As it turned out, he flies the replica of the famous plane. He showed me the red airplane which looked unexpectedly small and fragile in the vast hangar. The light was dim and the background was just horrific dull metal interior, so I asked if there was a chance to roll the plane outside. He grinned widely - “I can offer something better,” he said, “I can take it up for a spin.”
That sounded great, but I worried the photos wouldn’t be the greatest on a fly-by against the sky and said so. Joe had the solution for that too - they’ll take me up in another plane to fly parallel to his Red Baron. They’ll even fly a third plane and do a mock air-battle. Who could refuse such offer?
We took off and Joe, true to his word, preformed some Red-Baronesque air maneuvers, even let some smoke billow behind his plane for greater effect. It was an adventure to remember for life. I wore the appropriate WW1-style leather cap/helmet and sat in a tiny cockpit of a two-seater biplane whose name I sadly cannot recall, snapping picture of the Red Baron over the fields outside Brampton. When I had what I need in terms of both, pictures and thrill, we prepared for landing. That’s when things became weird. The pilot shouted over the wind that he can’t hear the control tower. We circled around the small structure, not much taller than a water tower, for a while, to no avail. He decided to fly by and let them know that something’s wrong with the radio. Someone waved him from the tower, signalling to land. So we did.
While we were up in the air, the whole airport lost power. It took them a while to start generators, that’s why there was no radio answer from the tower. Thinking nothing of it, I said my goodbyes and left the airport, still thrilled from the flight. Traffic lights outside the airport were dead, even the blinking yellow lights were off. Knowing that the airport had no power, that didn’t surprise me. But, soon after I hit more dead traffic lights and the traffic started building up until everything came to a halt.
There was no internet-enabled cell phones at the time, so I finally tuned to all-news radio station. They broadcast traffic situation every 15 minutes, so I thought to check how to get home the fastest. And that’s when I heard it - while I was flying above fields of Brampton, Northeast Canada and the U.S. were hit with the massive “Northeast Blackout of 2003”. The whole province of Ontario, as well as a bunch of northeastern states in the U.S. were without the power. Everything from Toronto to New York City went dark. Instantly, the blackout was the story of the day. My involvement in the air battle of the WW1 was forgotten. The story and pictures never saw the light of the day.
Tumblr media
Yours truly Zoran B., sitting in the cockpit wearing the godawful, but cool leather helmet befitting WW1 aircraft crew, and Joe Auger, the pilot of the Red Baron replica, before taking off for our air-battle. (The real pilot drove the plane from the back seat).

Dream's discord podcast. Basically him answering questions for 2.5 hours. This will sort of be in order but I fucked up my notes so it might not be in order completely. (From 13th May 2021)
For reference the photos at the end are: A prototype of fidget spinner merch as loads of people asked, a reference photo of his favourite merch and a photo he sent of his hair to prove he wasn't a brunette.
•He said his teeth are mostly straight but he's thought about getting Invisalign. He's never had braces. He has a tiny gap in the left side of his mouth and his canines are longer and sharper (vampire arc). He's never had teeth surgery so has his wisdom teeth still.
•He thinks pineapple on pizza is good.
•He likes seafood like lobster and crab. He had crab made in an air fryer last night. He like peas. He thinks quesadillas are good and likes most food.
•He hates Coffee and most drinks
•The Dream Shorts team is Ken who is his personal reminder (Ken's main job is to spam him with texts so he doesn't forget things as he's got a habit of reading texts and not replying) and also comes up with a list of sets for Dream shorts. The builder is a friend and munchymc builder "his talent gets wasted on Dream's shorts but we pay him so"
•His editors are currently Dizzy, Firesale and Mjcr. Willz doesn't edit for him anymore
•The mask animation isn't done but Mask should be released May 21st. He wants to release them together as "the whole song is a double meaning and the whole nuance will be lost without the animation" but no matter if the animation is done the song is getting released on the 21st.
•He and Sapnap eat together often.
•He and Sapnap prefer medium rare Steak
•He wants a home gym it's something he's willing to splurge on. They currently have a weight rack but they haven't even set it up.
•"Eat the rich? Shut up shut up" - Dream
•Talked about money basically saying "Most people don't understand how money works I don't have millions in my bank account it's in assets like merch, land and warehousing for that stuff" (He's not in his landlord arc)
•He's been debating Pride Merch because of Rainbow Capitalism. He doesn't want it too be seen as a money maker and if he does most proceeds would go to charity. He's currently super busy merch wise with Sapnap joining and George in the middle of joining. He did say "Only if the LGBTQ+ community in this community wants it" He thinks he's going to at least change the merch website to a pride one. Sapnap wants to make pride merch including a rainbow flame on his.
•He wants to create a charity that's centered around helping LGBTQ+ one day because he thinks that there's a lack of them. He mentioned that creating a charity was expensive and took a lot and was a complicated process including a board of directors but he wants to do it someday.
•He wanted to buy a bunch of houses in Florida which was a service to house mostly LGBTQ+ youth and people stuck in abusive households for free to get them out of bad home environments. But he didn't because he didn't want people thinking he was profiting of of abuse victims and LGBTQ+ community.
•He said he's terrible with time management and replying to people which is why Ken helps him (and also helps George and Sapnap). He mentioned how Sam messaged multiple times and Dream just forgot to answer but felt bad "I feel like people think I hate them..... Cause I'd be mad if people did that to me"
•He tries to reply to a few texts a day (community number). He also can't do birthday messages everyday because you can only reply at certain times so it's not abusing the system so if you get one it's special. He said he does try but it's got a weird time gap.
•Him and the manhunt winner are trying to come up with a good time to film
•He wants to stream this MCC on twitch and says his team is good.
•He talks about why he's not partnered with Twitch. Basically Twitch has a lock rate (in which you make money) and you legally can't stream on YouTube. So legally if Tommy wanted to stream on YouTube he couldn't. Someone then mentioned how Bad is a twitch partner but still streams on YouTube "Bad streams on YouTube but he has for a while and I don't think that he cares" - Dream
•He likes to reply to every donation he gets on stream and feels bad when he doesn't so he'll turn them off when he streams and wants a platform deal where he can be payed to stream (not twitch). If he gets a streaming partnership he will stream a couple of times a week. He looked in to Facebook but they don't have an alias system meaning you can see everyone's actual Facebook account and personal info, he doesn't like seeing real names on Facebook so it would require a lot of altering if he was to stream there so he's thinking it's probably going to be YouTube.
•He was asked about if his demographic was what he expected and he said he went in with no expectations, he didn't even know what stans were, wasn't really on social media so he wasn't aware of the fan culture. "You guys are a handful sometimes but it's worth it"
•He also mentioned how he and the DreamSMP changed the twitch audience demographic. It used to be male dominated in both streamers and audience and now it's almost split which is unheard on.
•He has 5 fidget spinners in his house. Two in his bedroom. Two in his office. One in the living room.
•He likes his Minecraft skin as he thinks the arm is cook and you never see the rest of his skin really. He says it's unique and different and "me". Dream: You can't even tell half the skins apart on MC.
•He's not lost the motivation to stream. Most of the times if he wants to stream he gets George or Sapnap to do it and he just turns up. It's more beneficial to them as they have donos and subs on. (Don't we fucking know it "can you say hi to")
•He has listened to Lovejoy. Says the ep was great and they're very talented and awesome. Doesn't know what his favourite song is but probably would pick One Day because the chorus slaps.
•RIP to acoustic Roadtrip. He said instead of acoustic Roadtrip we get Mask so no losses today for Dream stans.
•"With Roadtrip I went to Parker and I said Hey I have a story I want to tell through music. I have no experience with that can you help me" He said sure. He crafted the music and melodies and how things are formed where it's catchy. I have less comfort singing that. I love the song and it's my song, it's very representative of me and I'm sure I could sing it but it's a song I'd be kinds of scared to sing live, with Mask I basically did everything. I sat there the entire time and maybe an hour out if the 100 I wasn't in the call. Dream came up with the lyrics and main melody for Mask (First one he's ever come up with) "That was just notes in my fucking voice memos"
•The clip we heard of Mask was a prechorus not the actual chorus. He thinks he'd be more comfortable to do a mask acoustic and it's more melodic than Roadtrip. The chorus also has a lot of instruments similar to Roadtrip. Mask starts of slow and guitar with minimal reverb and is more raw.
• He doesn't want music to be his main thing. It's something fun to do and he's passionate about it as it's a way to express emotions. He wants to release mask then go from there. He wants to release at least one more song but has nothing on his mind currently. His two ideas were Roadtrip and Mask.
•He wouldn't quit his job to become a pizza delivery man.
•His favourite features on himself are eyes or freckles and he also confirmed that he does have eyebrows.
•He was told that Parkour warrior would be bought back some time in the near future and he got excited for it. "Even if I don't win, which I will, it'll be fun"
•Went on about his MCC team but I'm not going to put that in as we should be getting them today. He did say he wasn't on Pink but he did sound confused. (For reference he's always in Pink as it's the last team announced and keeps the hype up by announcing the biggest streamer last)
•Said he and his mum had the Mr Beast burger. He recommends because he likes the avacado. He mentioned how Mr Beast uses "Ghost Kitchens" which is basically where he gives restaurants permission to cook his food so it's restaurant quality food.
•His favourite piece of merch is the circle smile. (The pool photo on Instagram). He said the quality was bad (he worked with a different company and didn't have his own company) and it was elasticy feeling and he's planning on re-releasing it again but with good quality.
•He's started to send merch out in custom packaging. So his bags have the smile and will mostly be green. Sapnap's has the flame and is either black or white. He's also trying to make it so every order has the sticker packs for both him and Sapnap.
•He loves the coins as it's cheaper than a hoodie but still celebrates the milestones and will last a long time. He mentioned how the old coins are getting removed off the site and how if you have any of the coins your special because only a few thousand get made. He's kept around 100 of each coin that he wants to give away in person.
•He wanted to have a cool store where you could access computers that give you access to the DreamSMP in spectator mode. But it's too costly and would require too much time and isn't safe fight now. He doesn't think it'd be worth it financially.
•Most of the hoodie are black instead of multiple colours because of limited supply and covid. Getting the colours are harder because if the pandemic which hopefully won't be an issue soon.
•He wants to do a short meetup tour with Sapnap and George with a few locations in the US (and if others nearby want to join like Quackity or Karl they can). He also wants to visit Australia, UK, Canada, Mexico and Philippines and do something like that there but definitely at least visit with George and Sapnap.
•He's never been to the Philippines but his mum has. He wants to set up a place in the Philippines where he can ship merch in bulk and it would help to reduce shipping. However it would probably be big milestone merch.
•He's not got the vaccine yet but will get it when he needs to. He doesn't leave the house so he doesn't see the point.
•He's the ideas man. George's footcam video was Dream's idea. The T-shirt video was Dream's idea. Most if not all of the Dream Team's videos are Dream's ideas.
•Said he's got a similar/the same hair colour as Froy (Dream buddy at this point the only difference between you and Froy is that one of you is dating Richard Madden /lh)

Rise of the Beasts: The Dream
(Spoilers; based on headcanons i have of the film); eventual Cheetor x OC.
I stood on the platform of the temple, as a light breeze sent shivers across my arms. Outside the markets were still open, catch that last bit of sunlight. To my right the builders were finishing what they could of their work. New temples to store of food for the coming months. I was done with my lessons; I spent that whole day writing what i saw.
For generations my family ruled over this kingdom. It was told we were descended from a simple farmer who, after a drought, shot a bow and arrow into the clouds. Bringing much needed rain. Over time, what was once a village expanded into a city. We had wars, though none in mine nor my parents years. Likely because we had help from our friends.
We believed them, the giant creatures that protected us, to be sent by the Gods. One a normal day they roamed around disguised as the local fauna. You couldn't tell them apart...you have to look very closely at the fine details.
But on other good days - and bad - they transformed into other things. They walked on two legs, like us, though not with skin or organs. Theirs were of a much different material, harder than stone and smoother than bronze. You could still catch pieces of the animal parts placed on discreet areas of their bodies. They came with weapons far to complicated for me to describe but they rarely used them. That was a good thing. War frightened me.
Aside from that they were friendly. They helped any way they could, as healers and hunters and teachers or simply a shoulder to cry on. They expressed the same emotions we did, cried and laugh and mourned. And loved.
I heard a big cat growl from behind me. I wasn't afraid. We played this game multiple times. But I still pretended to be oblivious as I allowed the beast to approach me.
It lunged.
Quickly I darted out the way confusing the beast. Its eyes went from cunning to surprised as I let out a laugh. The big cat reared back its spotted hinges and crept towards me again. I hid behind my bed eyeing the beast still grinning. Big cat lunged again. I avoided its paws stepping off to the side. We danced around like this for minutes. Each time it tried to ensnare me I managed to evade its capture.
Finally, i allowed it to swoop me up. I felt its weight on my back as it straightened itself up so it wouldn't smoosh me too much. Because of how it was built it was far heavier than normal animals.
"Caught ya," it huffed in my ear in triumph.
"Only because I let you," I retort with a smirk. I shifted until I was facing its green eyes. "You have to know i don't taste very good, I might make you sick."
"It's worth the risk," it replied before nuzzling its maw into my neck. I couldn't help but sigh. Its pulsing frame and soft purring sending different kinds of shivers through me. We stayed like this taking in each other's warmth...
Until a shrill alarm awoke Destiny from her sleep. Angered she slapped the snooze button and dragged the covers over herself. The tiny Brooklyn bedroom was still dark. She wanted nothing more than to stay in her domain. But she had to get up and get ready for work.
Work...if she was royalty she never had to work. Just like the Princess in her dreams. Minus the cheetah of course. She didn't want dirty wild animals anywhere near her. After a quick shower she put on a pink t shirt and hot pink smoking pants, and went into the kitchen to fix herself some cereal.
